As they make friendships and form alliances, it becomes plain that both the humans and the Autobots are more alike than they ever could have dreamed, and that the future of the Cybertronian race is far from over. It is organized into {{Story Arc}}s.

As of December 30, 2019, the first story in the series: ''Things We Don't Tell Humans'' is complete. '''Some spoilers.'''
----
!! ''Things We Don't Tell Humans'' contains examples of:
%%* ActionMom: Elita-One and Chromia, so, so much. Peace, Sarah, and Arcee, less obviously.
* AdultsAreUseless: Mostly averted, as the grown-up Cybertronians and humans all work together to create a better future for their young charges while also working with them for advice on matters they may not have experience with.
%%* AFatherToHisMen: Optimus Prime.
* AliensSpeakingEnglish: Justified; the Cybertronians learned it through the internet and interaction with humans, and share the information amongst themselves. The Cybertronian children don't have the capacity to learn human languages at first, though a few patient humans can get through to them using symbols, tone of voice, and body language.
* AncientTomb: The Tomb of the Primes is important during the Revenge of the Fallen arc, and becomes important again when Faust realizes the Primes in the Tomb [[spoiler:would have had their own Matrixes with them, not just the one they sealed themselves away to guard]].
* AngerBornOfWorry: Ratchet's reaction to anyone he remotely likes, given his duties as the chief medical officer of the Autobots and experiences with seeing many of his comrades die in battle throughout his long life.
* AngstComa: Prowl goes into a catatonic state if he experiences an emotional extreme and/or an event his battle computer can't rationalize. They can get very serious, especially when they involve the life or death of those close to him.
%%* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: Ratchet and Wheeljack.
* AwesomeMomentOfCrowning: Chapter 21: The ascension and renaming of Orion Pax, Ariel, and [[spoiler:Megivor]] to Prime, Prime's Consort, and Lord Protector. Prowl has a badass speech, and even Sentinel Prime's revelation that he's become a {{Naytheist}} and can't continue the ceremony only sets the stage for more awesome.
%%* BabyLanguage: The Cybertronian children have a pretty complex one that only those with Caretaker programming can understand.
%%* BackFromTheDead: Detrious [[spoiler:he doesn't let it stick]], Optimus Prime, Sam, Megatron (Film/TransformersRevengeOfTheFallen), [[spoiler:and Jazz]]
* BadassBureaucrat: Ratchet is a senator. Also a medic, a war hero, a father several times over, and doesn't take nonsense from anyone.
%%* BadassFamily: The Autobots are practically made of this. Literally, in some cases.
%%* BadassTeacher: Terratron, Prowl, and Arcee.
%%* BattleCouple: Optimus Prime and Elita-One, Ironhide and Chromia, Prowl and Jazz.
* BedmateReveal: A variation. Wheeljack wakes up wondering why Prowl is in his apartment and giving him an amused look. It takes a moment for it to sink in; he's in Ratchet and Prowl's apartment, he was supposed to have left before Prowl returned, and he was sleeping on the couch with Ratchet in a pretty compromising position.
%%* BeingPersonalIsntProfessional: Prowl subscribes to this, but he always gains much more respect in the ranks when he shows he's NotSoStoic.
* BetterAsFriends: Bumblebee and [[spoiler:Barricade]] initially don't pursue a relationship, as the latter is a spy in the Decepticon ranks and the former is an advance scout for the Autobots. They eventually decide to throw caution to the winds.
%%* BewareTheNiceOnes: Prowl, Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee. Prowl unleashes BewareTheQuietOnes too.
%%* CameBackWrong: Detrious. His son, [[spoiler:Prowl]], has to deal with the consequences. Optimus worries about this [[spoiler: when he tries to resurrect Jazz]]. Given Prowl's history, it's not surprising that Prowl panics.
%%* CanonWelding: Spinox, one of Terratron's more spiritual students, eventually changes his name to [[spoiler:[[WesternAnimation/BeastWars Rhinox]] ]] and is part of a crashed team in Africa with experimental nanite camouflage technology. (which Ratchet is really jealous that he didn't get to test). Oh, and he's one of Wheeljack's grown-up sparklings. Likewise, from the same continuity, [[spoiler:Dinobot]] is Ironhide and Chromia's wayward youngest child, and [[spoiler:"Optimus" Primal]] is [[spoiler:Ultra Magnus/Dion's]], and earned his nickname from his habit of acting uncannily like his uncle [[spoiler:Optimus Prime]].
%%* CannotSpitItOut: Ratchet, about [[spoiler:liking Wheeljack as much more than a friend]].
%%* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Jazz and Prowl, though they knew about the future romance from the beginning. Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, and [[spoiler:Bluestreak]], also Bumblebee and [[spoiler:Barricade]].
%%* CooldownHug: Prowl sometimes finds himself in need of the Cybertronian version (giant robots can't really ''hug'').
%%* CoolOldGuy: Ratchet, Ironhide, Terratron, and Kup.
* CrossoverRelatives: Sam is related to [[spoiler:Franchise/IndianaJones]] and [[spoiler:Hogarth Hughes, of ''WesternAnimation/TheIronGiant'' fame]].
%%* CurbStompBattle: Bumblebee vs. Jolt, and Optimus and Megatron's first-ever fight.
* CultureClash: This is what drives the original list of "things we don't tell humans". The Autobots are slow to share their views on gender, family, relationships, politics and religion due to how radically different they are from what humanity believes to be normal.
%%* DeathGlare: Prowl is really good at these.
* DeepCoverAgent: [[spoiler: Nightbird]] infiltrated the Decepticons under the identity of Flamewar once the war began, to the point that no one suspected that she was a spy. [[spoiler:Barricade]] is another mole in the Decepticon ranks, but Megatron knows all about him [[spoiler:and doesn't mind.]]
%%* DidYouThinkICantFeel: Prowl to Jazz, before they finally become friends.
* DiesDifferentlyInAdaptation: Instead of being shot in the head by Optimus Prime via Megatron's fusion shotgun, Sentinel Prime is decapitated by Prowl before his spark is torn out of his body.
%%* DisappearedDad: Detrious, for Prowl, and Sideswipe and Sunstreaker's Caretakers (if you could call them that).
%%* DoctorsOrders: Ratchet and First Aid.
%%* DrowningMySorrows: Happens once each to [[spoiler:Prowl and Elita-One]], under strict supervision by their friends and medics. It's mentioned that Prowl takes after Ratchet in this.
%%* EmbarrassingFirstName: Sepia and Sunstreaker heartily dislike their original names.
%%* ElectiveMute: Bumblebee still chooses to use his radio-splicing speech and/or code-talk even after he gets his voice back.
* FightingFromTheInside: [[spoiler:Megatron, and later Barricade,]] end up having to fight for their sanity in the Peril Arc after the revelation that [[spoiler: much of the Decepticons are infected with restrictive programming that severely handicapped their capability for empathy courtesy of Shockwave]].
%%* FlashbackNightmare: Prowl has one, revealing what happened when he learned that Jazz had died.
%%* ForeignCussWord:The Cybertronians' swearing. The humans start to use them too.
* FriendlyAddressPrivileges: Terratron is Master to his students when they're training, Lord Terratron everywhere else, but Terra to his friends.
** It seems only Terratron gets to call Sentinel Prime "Nel" due to their friendship.
** Elita-One occasionally calls Optimus Prime "Orion Pax" as a holdover from their pasts as Orion Pax and Ariel, as do the past Primes due to their omniscience.
%%* FriendToAllChildren: Optimus [[spoiler:and Sam.]] It's a core personality trait of all Primes.
%%* FriendVersusLover: Sam and Barricade, over Bumblebee.
%%* {{Foreshadowing}}: After Prowl is informed of both [[spoiler: sparklings on Earth]] and Jazz's death he thinks he might adopt [[spoiler: a sparkling]] and rely on that to give himself a reason to live.
* GenderIsNoObject: For the Cybertronians, any bot can be capable of a variety of duties regardless of their coded gender, despite the fact that "Femmes" are relatively rare.
* GenderRarityValue: Femmes are valued as they are the least common of the three genders in a dying race, but they avoid being enslaved or worshiped because they are not strictly necessary to reproduce.
* GoodCostumeSwitch: [[spoiler:Barricade]] is more streamlined and graceful around his Autobot family, and paints himself black so that he isn't confused with his Caretaker, [[spoiler:Prowl]]. ''After'' he gleefully scares the pants off Sam, of course.
%%* GoodParents: Many – it's easier to list the bad parents, but there are a few surprises in the GoodParents category: [[spoiler: Barricade, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, and Sam.]]
%%* HappilyAdopted: Prowl, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, later [[spoiler: Faust, [=Æ=]ether, Alchemy, Hudson, Cobalt, Iris, Torch, Quicksilver, Sepia, Viridian, and Wheelie]]
* HappilyMarried: Quite a few of the characters enjoy loving and stable relationships. A few examples would be Optimus Prime and Elita One, Ironhide and Chromia, Jazz and Prowl, and [[spoiler: Megatron and Nightbird.]]
* HardHead: PlayedForLaughs when Ratchet conks Optimus over the head with his own damaged armor after a fight, as Optimus shrugs off the hit without much issue. Horrifyingly subverted and PlayedForDrama with the head injury Megatron received in the second film, which has left him with debilitating health issues on top of the gaping hole exposing his brain module to the elements, [[spoiler: especially with the conflict between the restrictive programming implanted within him and true self running wild]].
* HeadbuttOfLove: Cybertronian children headbutt to say hello. It seems to be the equivalent of a hug.
%%* HonoraryUncle: Epps, for [[spoiler:Sepia and Viridian]]
* HighPriest: Optimus Prime is one of the PriestKing variety, serving as the religious and political leader of Cybertron and its people.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Optimus Prime towers over his sparkmate Elita-One by a sizeable factor.
%%* HumansThroughAlienEyes
%%* IAmNotMyFather: One of Prowl's deepest motivations.
%%* IllegalGuardian: Sideswipe's and Sunstreaker's Creators, if they weren't AbusiveParents instead (or also).
%%* IncompletelyTrained: ''Megatron'', and it comes back to bite him in the butt more than once. Bumblebee too...but that doesn't stop him from wiping the floor with Jolt, unarmed, using the fighting style he is half-trained in.
%%* InsecureLoveInterest: What's keeping Ratchet and Wheeljack (Ratchet especially) from their RelationshipUpgrade.
%%* InterspeciesAdoption: Faust, [=Æ=]ther, Alchemy, Quicksilver, Viridian and Wheelie are some of the sparklings adopted by the Autobots' human allies.
* InYourNatureToDestroyYourselves: One of the reasons why the Autobots are wary of sharing their technology is because they fear that humanity may use it to fuel armed conflicts that are even ''more'' destructive than what has already happened before.
%%* IUhYouToo: Prowl and Jazz becoming friends.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Ratchet wields his DoctorJerk persona to make his patients live so they can "stay mad at [him] longer".
%%* JustAKid: Starscream thinks this of Faust.
%%* KungFuKid: Prowl and Jazz as children, and any child Prowl teaches. Especially Faust.
%%* LetsWaitAwhile: Jazz and Prowl.
%%* LikeAnOldMarriedCouple: Everyone's first impression of Prowl and Jazz as adults, even before their RelationshipUpgrade. There is general astonishment that they actually aren't official. Ratchet has this with Wheeljack too.
* LongLived: The Cybertronians are quite long-lived due to their nature as MechanicalLifeform[=s=]. [[spoiler:Dana, Tom Banachek, Mikaela, and Sam]] join this list after they respectively receive nanite therapy and awaken his latent abilities as a Prime, extending their lifespans ''far'' beyond what is possible for humans.
%%* LoveAtFirstSight: Legitimate and physically possible for Cybertronians. Optimus and Elita; Ironhide and Chromia; and Techni and Blues, Jazz's parents, had this. Also Jazz and Prowl, much to their initial irritation.
%%* MasterApprenticeChain: In effect whenever Optimus and Megatron fight, or Bumblebee and Barricade, since they were trained by Prowl and/or Terratron, Prowl's master.
* TheMole: [[spoiler:Barricade]] is actually an Autobot DeepCoverAgent within the Decepticon ranks.
* OldMaster: Terratron, the Lord Protector of Cybertron before Megatron, is still as experienced in combat as he was in his prime even after the passage of time.
%%* MechanicalLifeforms: The Cybertronians.
%%* MindlinkMates: The Bonded (married) Cybertronians. It requires a great deal of trust, and causes big problems if one of the pair dies. This is one of the reasons [[spoiler: Prowl and Jazz]] aren't Bonded at the beginning of the story, despite everyone's assumptions that they are. This is also why the mysterious Decepticon Powers-That-Be won't let [[spoiler:Megatron Bond with Nightbird]].
* MindRape: Installing restrictive programming (which can create an alternate personality) in someone else's mind is invariably a horrific, invasive process that is rightly seen as abhorrent by many Cybertronians for the mental damage it incurs. It's almost as bad when you do it to yourself.
* MindVirus: The restrictive programming that [[spoiler:Megatron]] was under is infectious enough to put Barricade out of commission, to the point that it required Ratchet's medical expertise to expunge it from his systems.
* ModestRoyalty: Optimus Prime, Elita-One, Megatron, and Nightbird are very much aware of the high status their positions afford them, but they never use it as a tool to demand respect from their allies with.
%%* MoralityAdjustment: Type 2 for [[spoiler:Megatron]] during the Peril Arc.
* MoreDeadlyThanTheMale: Elita-One is physically tiny (compared to her mate –she's still huge in human terms). She is also much more violent and downright terrifies Megatron and Sentinel Prime. This seems to be the norm in-universe –a traditional femme frame might not be as strong as a mech's, but it is usually faster and potentially more lethal.
%%* MouthyKid: Torch and Wheelie are two of the rowdiest sparklings under the care of the Autobots. Young Jazz had touches of this. Sunstreaker and Sideswipe used to be this, and still embrace it as a persona.
%%* NatureVersusNurture: A big question for the Autobots is whether the Decepticons are inherently wicked or are simply .
%%* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Prowl gives one of these to Juryrig when Juryrig rips Prowl's "doorwings" off, leaving the latter blinded, de-limbed, and voiceless by the end of that ass-kicking.
%%* NotAMorningPerson: Optimus Prime
%%* NotStayingForBreakfast: Lampshaded/inverted. Wheeljack wasn't supposed to stay at Ratchet's all the way untill morning, but he does. An amused Prowl gets them breakfast.
* ObfuscatingInsanity: [[spoiler:Megatron]] pretends to be the ruthless, psychopathic Decepticon warlord he was under Shockwave's restrictive programming after the events of the Peril Arc to ensure that his subordinates won't immediately turn on him while he works to bring the Autobot-Decepticon war to an end.
%%* OldSoldier: Ironhide, Ratchet.
* OnlyMostlyDead: Jetfire at the end of ''Film/TransformersRevengeOfTheFallen'' still has enough presence of being that the Autobots can bring him back to life by rebuilding him.
%%* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Megatron in the Peril Arc so, so much. Two words: [[spoiler:"[[WhamLine Save me.]]"]]. His first out of character moments in the flashbacks from the beginning of the war as well.
* PapaWolf:
** Optimus scares ''everyone'' when he finds out how badly the agents who took Quicksilver in treated him.
** Ratchet tries to shout down a general who keeps disrespecting Prowl.
%%* PrecisionFStrike: Prowl rarely swears, but when he does, it's heartfelt and spectacular.
%%* RaisedByNatives: [[spoiler:Faust, [=Æ=]ther, Alchemy, and Viridian are some of the sparklings under Dana and Tom's care. Quicksilver and Wheelie]] qualify to a certain extent.
%%* ReallySeventeenYearsOld: Skids and Mudflap
* RelegatedMentor: Terratron embraces his retirement with grace, dignity, and some enthusiasm since it means he doesn't have to go through so much stress now that his successor has proven themself worthy of being the next Lord Protector. Sentinel Prime, on the other hand, does ''not''.
%%* RenownedSelectiveMentor: Terratron, so much so that his students aren't usually allowed to meet each other. It's a very big deal when he finally allows it.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Pre-War Megatron, Optimus, Elita, and Nightbird are well-known and loved on Cybertron for this. They were working-class before becoming the leaders of Cybertron, and they still like doing things with their hands, Optimus especially.
* RulingCouple: Optimus Prime and Elita-One, as well as Megatron and Nightbird. Despite Optimus and Megatron being the ones with the Matrix/official title, their consorts are held as equal (or at least, equally capable) ruling partners. It's Elita who takes over as leader of the Autobots in the [[Film/TransformersRevengeOfTheFallen Revenge Arc]], rather than Prowl, his second-in-command in the military aspect. Meanwhile, Nightbird, in the disguise of Flamewar, becomes a commander in the Decepticon forces, handing one of the few heroic Decepticon teams.
%%* StoryArc: The story is divided into 8 story arcs.
* ScrewPolitenessImASenior: Skyfire does not mince his words around anyone despite his great age, often speaking his mind however he sees fit around his younger compatriots.
%%* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: When the NEST soldiers take Optimus' body to Egypt during the Revenge Arc, and when Optimus Prime authorizes Ratchet to use nanites to heal Dana.
%%* SexForSolace: Averted with Prowl and Sunstreaker. Not that Smokescreen and Kup believe Sunstreaker and Bluestreak about this right away.
* ShipperOnDeck: Ratchet, Wheeljack, Blues, Techni, and Terratron all ship Jazz and Prowl, who in turn ship their son with Bumblebee (Optimus Prime ships it as well), as well as Bluestreak with Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. Optimus Prime also ships Sam and Carly.
%%* TangledFamilyTree: Ratchet and Wheeljack's dysfunctional clan of children and adopted children is huge. Apparently this is true for many Cybertronian families.
%%* TheBard: Jazz and Bumblebee
%%* TheStoic: Soundwave. Prowl has a touch of this. He exaggerates it as part of his officer persona.
%%* TimeAbyss: Alpha Trion and Skyfire are two of the oldest characters in the setting due to being around in the earliest days of Cybertron.
%%* TitleDrop: After [[spoiler:Elita One, Chromia, Springer, and Hound land on Earth]], Ironhide mentions this as the nickname for a handbook.
* TrainingFromHell: Barricade and [[spoiler:Nightbird]] went through extremely rigorous training to prepare them for their operations as [[TheMole undercover agents]] within the Decepticon ranks, including methods of retaining information under any form of interrogation they could be subject to if they were caught.
%%* TrialByCombat: A time-honored tradition, both on Cybertron and among the Autobots on Earth.
%%* TrueCompanions: Much of the cast, Autobots and NEST
%%* TwinTelepathy: Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, probably [[spoiler:[=Æ=]ther and Achemy]].
%%* UnderestimatingBadassery: Jolt does this to Bumblebee, and Megatron does this Optimus when they have their first fight as Prime and Lord Protector. Terratron's other students (besides Jazz and Megivor) do this to Prowl –but only once! Starscream underestimates Faust, too.
%%* VictoriousChildhoodFriend: Bumblebee and [[spoiler:Barricade]]; Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, and [[spoiler:Bluestreak]]
%%* VillainEpisode: The Peril Arc, featuring Megatron consolidating his forces once more after the events of ''Revenge of the Fallen'' and reflecting on his past actions.
%%* WallGlower: Sentinel Prime perfects his when Optimus becomes the ruling Prime.
%%* WartimeWedding: Type II between [[spoiler:Jazz and Prowl]].
%%* WhamEpisode: The Peril Arc, especially Chapter 49, where it's revealed that [[spoiler: part of the reason why Megatron is such a monster was due to Shockwave forcibly planting restrictive programming into his mind that actively suppressed his empathy and true personality]].
* WhatTheHellHero:
** Elita-One calls Sam out on his avoiding responsibility in ''Film/TransformersRevengeOfTheFallen.''
** Ratchet and Prowl call Sentinel Prime out on resurrecting Detrious and then ignoring his unstable mental state, and also waiting to reveal the fact that he's become a {{Naytheist}} until the worst (or best) possible moment.
** Megatron, Optimus, and Elita give Sentinel a what-for for breaking into Optimus' office, lying about having called ahead, and interrupting a moment between Optimus and Elita.
%%* WhileYouWereInDiapers: Ratchet, Ironhide, and Kup try to one-up each other. Kup wins.
* WhoWantsToLiveForever: [[spoiler: Dana and Tom]] aren't worried about this due to having nothing left to lose from their time as Sector 7 operatives, but [[spoiler:Sam is]] due to the possibility of outliving his family and friends.
%%* WillNotBeAVictim: Faust, neither of the war, nor of Starscream.
