Tooth finds herself eyeing Jack Frost, the reserved boy who sits in the back of the class. The two become friends, but the past that Jack is trying to hide catches up to him.

The news made a report without permission and made it out so that Jack had attempted to murder them both, thus causing the other students at his school to ostracize him. Some went as far as to fight him, but he retaliated enough to hospitalize them. Jack's mother, Helena, eventually decided to just send him away to Uncle Moon.]]
