Against all odds, Ganondorf manages to survive being stabbed by the Master Sword and wakes up from his coma decades after ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Twilight Princess]]''. The Twinrova nurse him back to health and inform him that his enemy has recently passed and that a new child named Link has been born.

After weighing his options, Ganondorf decides not to kill the infant, reasoning since the boy was born immediately after the previous Link died that a new one would simply be reborn. To neutralize the threat to himself he kidnaps Link from his parents and raises him as his own son, believing that any child would hesitate to fight against their parent. Under a disguise and the name Siegfried Dragmire, he raises Link at Lake Hylia with no knowledge of the outside world.

Note: Ganondorf will be referred also as Mr. Dragmire as in story.
--------
!!This fanfic provides examples of:
* AccidentalTruth: After Fyrus tells Link the story of the Hero of Twilight, Link eagerly retells the story to Mr.Dragmire and asks him if ''he'' was named after the Hero. Link then wonders if it will mean that he'll become the next hero.
* AngerBornOfWorry: Mr. Dragmire is ''pissed'' when Link attempts to cross the Gerudo Desert alone and left Lake Hylia when he expressly forbade him from leaving.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: In his attempts to make Link different from his precessors, Ganondorf refuses to have Link learn swordsmanship and teaches him magic instead. He prevents Link from the pursuits his precessors were skilled in, such as archery and slingshots. Ganondorf tells Link a biased version of past events to put himself in the best light. He also forbids Link from wearing the color green.
* BecomingTheMask: To his surprise, Ganondorf does love Link as his son.
* BoomTown: Lake Hylia is originally a small isolated village, after the TimeSkip it becomes a populous town because many refugees fled there to escape Ganondorf's reign.
* TheBusCameBack: Navi comes back after hundreds of years to became Link's guide.
* CallBack: Like his execution by the Sages in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Twilight Princess]]'', Ganondorf was stabbed and he managed to keep the sword. Which in this case is the [[ForWantOfANail Master Sword.]]
* TheCallKnowsWhereYouLive: Despite Ganondorf's cultivation and raising of Link, fate makes sure that Link become capable of opposing him. First by separating Link and Ganondorf, having Link meet Jikoku and Hakumei and forced through a TimeSkip.
* ChangeTheUncomfortableSubject: This happens to Link twice: Kotake distracts him from her FreudianSlip in calling Mr.Dragmire a Lord by making him do chores. When Link stumbles upon the AccidentalTruth after being told the myth of the Hero of Twilight, Mr.Dragmire forcibly ends the conversation.
* ChristmasEpisode: One of the Missing Links deal with Link, Mr. Dragmire and the Twinrova giving gifts on an early Christmas morning.
* ConvenientlyUnverifiableCoverstory: Ganondorf accidentally gives himself one after the seven-year TimeSkip. Link tries to search for his father after being separated from him because of TimeTravel. Link and his friends only knew Ganondorf through his Mr.Dragmire alias, know that Ganondorf has imprisoned all the men surrounding Castle Town and that Mr.Dragmire has been missing since Ganondorf took over. So they conclude that Mr.Dragmire has also been imprisoned as long with the rest of the men.
* CripplingOverspecialization: Link is a very good magic user but terrible at melee fighting. The overspecialization deliberately cultivated by Ganondorf so Link wouldn't be able to fight him on an equal level if he did oppose him.
* CutLexLuthorACheck: The Twinrova make a lot of money and earn themselves prestige by running a successful potions shop in the now booming town of Lake Hylia.
* [[spoiler: DeadAllAlong]]: Jikoku and Hakumei,[[spoiler: The Hero of Time and the Hero of Twilight.]]
* DecompositeCharacter: Zelda, Tetra and Shiek are how separate characters and are each other's siblings.
* DentedIron: With the Triforce of Power gone and his [[WoundThatWillNotHeal unhealing wound]], Ganondorf/Mr.Dragmire is constant need of blue potions to deal with the pain and is no longer as strong as he used to be. It doesn't mean he's any less dangerous since he still was able to take over Hyrule.
* DramaticIrony: Sir Raven reminisces on his missing son while helping to locate a child, Link's father. The readers know that Sir Raven is not only speaking to his missing son, but delivering him back to his kidnapper. Especially how bittersweet he feels over seeing Link and his father's happy reunion.
* DyeOrDie: Ganondorf dies his distinctive red hair black to hide his Gerudo heritage and from the authorities.
* EntertaininglyWrong: While assuming Mr.Dragmire is one of Ganondorf's prisoners is reasonable considering that many men are also held captive, their conclusion is completely wrong.
* FusionFic: With ''WesternAnimation/{{Tangled}}''
* FreudianSlip:
-->Kotake: It is medicine, boy! This potion is an especially strong one that heals Lord G--
-->Link: Papa's a lord? He never told me--
-->Kotake: Forget that! Just...Why don't you help Aunt Koume gather mushrooms.
* {{Glamour}}: Mr.Dragmire puts a glamour on Link to disguise him when he allows Link to come with him to Castle Town, telling Link that it's for Link's protection. The glamour disguises Link to look like a young version of himself so he could better pass as Mr. Dragmire's son.
* GlamourFailure: Only for the spell to take him at his ExactWords and make Link look like a young Ganondorf, instead of young Siegfried Dragmire. Mr. Dragmire passes it off as the spell malfunctioning.
* FilmFic: It adapts the plot of ''WesternAnimation/{{Tangled}}'' and elements of ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime''. The plot is similar in that Ganondorf kidnaps Link as an infant and raises him for his own gain and Link is asleep for seven years before waking up.
* ForWantOfANail: In this story Twilight Princess Link left the Master Sword in Ganondorf's corpse, which allowed him to survive at cost of being comatose for fifty years and making his WoundThatWillNotHeal even ''worse''.
* HeroicLineage: Link and his father Sir Raven are great-grandson and grandson of the Hero of Twilight
* [[IHaveYourWife I Have Your Sister]]: Ganondorf took Tetra's sister Zelda as hostage he killed the King and Queen and took over Hyrule. He also has Tetra's brother, Shiek since he refused to leave in order to protect Zelda.
* IfItTastesBadItMustBeGoodForYou: Mr. Dragmire hates drinking his blue potions and his family knows it. Averted temporarily for ChristmasEpisode, in which Link managed to find some mint to make the potion sweet as a present.
* KidnappedWhileSleeping: Link is kidnapped from his own crib in the middle of the night and Sir Raven and his wife never see him again.
* LighterAndSofter: Compared to Mother Gothel and Rapunzel's relationship in ''WesternAnimation/{{Tangled}}'', Ganondorf and Link have a much better relationship as Ganondorf is not emotionally nor psychologically abusive and raises him in the small rural village of Lake Hylia, opposed to locking him up by himself in a tower.
* LimaSyndrome: Ganondorf kidnapped Link with the intention of neutralizing him as a threat, only to end loving him as a son.
* LiteralMetaphor: Fyrus recalls his mother calling him "a little prince" when he was younger. After being crowned King of the Gerudo, he realizes that she was dropping hints about his heritage.
* ManChild: After the seven-year TimeSkip, Link is seen as very childish and gets odd looks for calling his father, "Papa." To be fair to Link he is still mentally a child due to sleeping most of the TimeSkip.
* MissedHimByThatMuch: Sir Raven tells Link how how he hopes that he will eventually find his kidnapped son when he helps the latter locate his father; not realizing that he's talking to his long-lost son who's under disguise and the kid's father is his son's kidnapper.
* {{Omake}}: The Missing Links, which deal with past memories of various characters.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: With the exception of the first two chapters, Ganondorf is always referred by narrative and known to others as Siegfried Dragmire or Mr. Dragmire.
* OnlyMostlyDead: Ganondorf survives being stabbed because the Twinrova managed to rescue him on time and that the Master Sword [[ForWantOfANail wasn't removed from his chest.]]
* PlotCoupon: The plot starts when Mr.Dragmire forgets to take his wallet on a routine trip to Castle Town. Link follows him with the intent of returning the wallet and Mr. Dragmire reluctantly allows Link to come with him.
* PragmaticVillainy: Ganondorf opposes the Twinrova's suggestion to kill the infant Link but its not because he has anything against child murder but because he realizes that Link simply be reborn as someone else afterward.
** Link is raised as a normal child in an isolated village. So the villagers don't bat an eye when Mr. Dragmire forbids Link from leaving a village because they don't like the outside world either. Since Mr.Dragmire raised Link, he guided what would become Link's strengths and weaknesses.
* RagsToRoyalty: Fyrus is a combined Cinderella/Sleeping Beauty example, he is the son of humble barkeepers until he and his family escape Ganondorf's takeover by fleeing to the Gerudo Desert to hide with his mother's people, only for him to become their king as Gerudo law says.
* ReallyRoyaltyReveal: while not having any hereditary royalty, Fyrus still fits.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Sir Raven is a knight for the Hylian forces and helps Link [[DramaticIrony find his father]] after he gets lost in a large crowd in Castle Town.
* {{Reincarnation}}: Stated flat out in story that Link is the reincarnation of Twilight Princess Link since he was born a day after the latter's death. Because he knows that Link reincarnates when he dies, Ganondorf choses not to kill him because this way he will know where Link is.
* RipVanWinkle: Ganondorf wakes up decades after his supposed death by Master Sword.
** Link wakes up seven years after being separated from Mr. Dragmire.
* ShoutOut
* SorcerersApprenticePlot: In [[{{Omake}} Missing Link]], Link tries to impress his father with an advanced spell for Father's Day after he was punished for not cleaning his room. He enchants a mop to bring in water and to mop the floor while he took a nap. The mop ended flooding his room and multiplied when Link tried to end the spell by chopping the mop with the Master Sword.
* StockholmSyndrome: Referred by name the author, as Link does think Ganondorf who kidnapped him as his father. Justified as Link ''was'' an infant when Ganondorf took him.
* UniquenessDecay: Ganondorf is no longer the only male Gerudo, a Castle Town boy named Fyrus is also one. Justified because it has been fifty years since Ganondorf's supposed death, giving a chance for a new one to be born.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Tetra and Zelda have this dynamic
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Although after the TimeSkip it's revealed that Tetra does like to wear dresses when she admires a dress that Link barters for her in Lake Hylia.
* TheyCallMeMisterTibbs: The narrative always refers to Ganondorf as ''Mr.''Dragmire.
* TookALevelInKindness: Originally Mido was a bully to Link, after the TimeSkip he apologizes to Link and tells that he is glad that Link survived.
* WeHaveToGetTheBulletOut: Averted, Ganondorf was able to survive because the Master Sword was stuck in his body so the Twinrova could recover his body and heal him.
* WillingChanneler: Saria channels Princess Farore to give Link advice and to help the Kokiri Forest.
* [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes Why Did It Have To Be The Undead]]: After finding out the hard way a supposedly-haunted cave actually was haunted, Link has a phobia of ghosts and the undead.
* WouldHurtAChild: Implied by the Twinrova when they ask Ganondorf if they should ''dispose'' of the infant Link.
* WoundThatWillNotHeal: The only he already had is made worse because now he suffers chronic pain from it which does weaken him.
