''Brendan Namron: Ace Attorney'' is an ongoing series of "cases", written in the style of an ''Franchise/AceAttorney'' game transcript, that attempts to tell the tale of Brendan ten years after his journey through Hoenn as a Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Trainer; he has become a defense attorney. A FanFic written by {{Tropers/Strife89}}, it has three cases fully written, with a fourth in progress. The author has the intention of creating a set of four cases that tie in to each other, forming a complete story. The series was inspired by [=ShadowKnux372's=] ''[[FanFic/PhoenixsSSBBCaseFiles Phoenix's SSBB]] [[http://docs.google.com/View?docid=df4qzjdz_3f7393nd7 Case Files]]''.

Brendan is accompanied by two Pokémon, Phoenix (a Torchic) and Skye (a Kirlia). Little is known about them, except that they are the children of two of the Pokémon that Brendan traveled with during his years as a trainer.

The series is currently being posted on [[http://forums.dragonflycave.com/showthread.php?t=10315 The Cave of Dragonflies forums]], where members are given the opportunity to "play" the trials, in a similar manner to the traditional ''Franchise/AceAttorney'' gameplay. It is also being posted on [[http://www.fanfiction.net/search.php?keywords=brendan+namron&ready=1&type=story FanFiction.net]].

!!Tropes featured in ''Brendan Namron: Ace Attorney'':
* AlliterativeTitle: Case 2's title, ''Turnabout Tragedy''.
* AlwaysMurder: Played straight so far.
** NeverSuicide
* AmateurSleuth: Skye doesn't appear to have any proper police training, given her accident in Turnabout Tragedy, but she is on the forensics team all the same. Brendan, much like Phoenix and Apollo in [[Franchise/AceAttorney their series]], does his own unprofessional investigations between trials.
* AuthorAppeal
* AuthorTract: The evidence is the end of [[http://forums.dragonflycave.com/showpost.php?p=409597&postcount=80 this post]].
* AvengingTheVillain: [[spoiler:Mars]] kills [[spoiler:Brendan's mother]] in case two, as revenge for her research ultimately leading to the loss of [[spoiler:Cyrus]].
* BigDamnHeroes: Skye bursts into the courtroom, evidence in hand, in case one, just after Roxanne gives Brendan a talking-to about accepting his "loss".
* BigNo: Used on occasion. Prosecutor [[spoiler:Blue]] seems to use it the most, so far.
* BigWordShout: The author tries to make it clear that, were this an actual game, it would use the {{Big Word Shout}}s found in the ''Ace Attorney'' games.
* CerebusRetcon: As per ''Franchise/AceAttorney'' tradition, the first case in this series features a minor, seemingly-petty villain as the culprit - an ex-Rocket, in this case. But in case 3, it turns out that everyone was mistaken: Night Russ [[spoiler: is currently a member of "''X-Rocket''", a small band of old Rockets who have effectively hijacked the Kanto power plant in order to make money through selling electric Pokemon]].
* ContinuityDrift: Despite the trope below, several of the characters have been taken in unexpected directions.
* ContinuityPorn: Debatable, but the author appears to be attempting to make many, ''many'' relevant references to the storylines of the main Franchise/{{Pokemon}} games.
* ConvictionByContradiction: For obvious reasons.
* DramaticIrony: The first case's culprit is made known before the "game" begins, and most people seem to figure out pretty quickly that the murderer in case two is [[spoiler:Mars]].
* EconomyCast: So far, there are VERY few original characters (not that that's a bad thing) and virtually no minor ones; however, many of the non-originals get their personalities and backstories elaborated on a ''lot''.
* FirstPersonSmartass: Brendan is nowhere near as snarky as Phoenix in his head, but he has his moments. Granted, Skye is capable of monitoring his thoughts, so it might be for the best.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: While present, the attempts are lukewarm.
* GoodLawyersGoodClients: So far, it appears that Brendan has had nothing but good clients - not that that's guaranteed to last.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: [[spoiler:Mars]] to [[spoiler:Cyrus]]; this is [[spoiler:her]] main motivation for committing the crime.
* IdiotBall: Night Russ carries it.
* ImprobableAge: Skye is ''nine years old'' when she joins the Goldenrod City forensics team.
* JerkAss: Blue might be this, but it's a little early to [[TheChessmaster tell for sure]].
* JustInTime: Skye's interjection in case one.
* KangarooCourt: ''Every single thing'' in this entry under ''Ace Attorney'' applies here.
* LampshadeHanging: Every now and then. For instance, one of the '''Talk''' topics is "What have you been up to?", which gives only three lines of text; the last one has Brendan wonder to himself, "Is that it?"
* LateArrivalSpoiler: Late-game plot points from Pokemon Platinum are referenced in case two.
* LifeMeter: Penalties are mentioned in-script, and the forum players get their "health" tracked by the author.
* LikeBrotherAndSister: Brendan calls Phoenix and Skye his closest friends, but Phoenix is barely even mentioned by him or the author during a lot of case two (thus far). While this may simply be due to the fact that Skye is his client in the case, one could read the relationship as something closer than "good friends".
* MeaningfulName[=/=]PunnyName: Brendan ''Namron'', Night Russ (nitrous), Detective ''Slooth'', Torchic!''Phoenix'' ....
** Expect an "Odor Sleuth" joke any day now.
* MysteryMagnet: Brendan is potentially shaping up to be this. Case 2 starts with him asking his mother about Team Galactic. Guess [[spoiler:who kills her]] shortly thereafter.
* NotAsYouKnowThem: Brendan was [=Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald=]'s silent male protagonist, who (like the other games' player characters) led a successful life in nothing but training. Guess where this series takes him after six years of that.
** Silver appears in case two. He's mellowed quite a bit since the end of [=HeartGold/SoulSilver=].
* PaintingTheMedium: Like [[FanFic/AceCombatTheEquestrianWar some]] [[FanFic/ChaoticHarmony other]] [[FanFic/SonicGenerationsFriendshipIsTimeless fics]], starting with case 2, links to music (mostly) from Pokémon and Ace Attorney are added to be listened to while the reader's reading the scenes.
* ThePerryMasonMethod: Used by Brendan quite a bit.
* PowerOfTrust: Brendan evidently wants the world to trust in their Pokémon as friends on a human level, rather than as animals.
* PsychicPowers: Skye, naturally. [[spoiler:Mars' Bronzong, too.]]
* SarcasmBlind:
-->'''Phoenix''': ''(quietly, sarcastically)'' Way to dance out of that one.\
'''Brendan''': ''(whispering, sincerely)'' Thanks.
* ScriptFic: Although case one's introduction -- and the majority of case 3 -- is in prose.
* SdrawkcabName: Brendan's last name is just his father's name (Norman) reversed. It exists only in this series.
* ShoutOut: Lots, with more expected to appear.
** Brendan's Torchic is named Phoenix. He shares Maya's love for burgers.
** Brendan's Kirlia is named Skye, and she works on the forensics team.
** While at the Goldenrod Docks, Brendan recalls a Milotic he owned named [[Manga/PokemonAdventures Mimi]].
** Detective Slooth uses Gumshoe's VerbalTic, pal!
* ThatCameOutWrong:
-->'''Brendan''': I half-expected the police to be gone by now … You'd think it was a pretty cut-and-dry murder scene ……\
'''Brendan''': … Wait, bad choice of words.
* UnconventionalCourtroomTactics: Case one introduces Franchise/{{Pokemon}} battles in court.
* VillainousBreakdown: When Brendan pins Russ in case one, Russ calls out his Mightyena and tries to ''kill him''.
* WhamLine: From case 3: "[[spoiler:No traces of cancerous cells were found]] in Roland Hills's body."
* WhatDoesThisButtonDo: The judge asks this in case 1 just before pressing the power switch of the flashlight -- and getting hit by its light.
* WorldOfHam: As expected, there is a LOT of yelling in the courtroom.
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: Brendan [[InnerMonologue says this to himself]] when Detective Slooth tells him all of the office's computers are "dumb terminals".
