* The end of ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'' is incredibly heartwarming: [[spoiler:Lumpy Space Princess becomes queen, Gunther gets a girlfriend, Sweet P graduates, and some of the most tragic characters of the show such as Lemongrab, Simon Petrikov, and Normal Man are seen having happy lives. If you saw the series from the beginning, you know [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds how much these three characters suffered]], and seeing them getting a happy ending is exceptionally heartwarming]].
** [[spoiler: Lemongrab ''smiling happily'', as the cracked ceiling of his bedroom that bothered him so much in "The Mountain" is papered over with a beautiful mural by Jermaine. After years of being an unhappy character, he has finally found peace and happiness]].
** [[spoiler: [[Characters/AdventureTimeIceKing Simon Petrikov]] finally getting the life he always wanted, thanks to Betty's sacrifice]].
** [[spoiler: [[Characters/AdventureTimePrincessBubblegum Bubblegum]] and Marceline snuggling together on a couch.]]
** [[spoiler:The Crabbit, Maja's much abused familiar from "Sky Witch", finally fulfilling his dream of being a dancer.]]
** [[spoiler:The final shot of the montage is [[Characters/AdventureTimeFinn Finn]] and Jake welcoming [[MissingMom Minerva]] and the other humans to Ooo.]]
** [[spoiler: More touching yet? All the musical accompaniment of the scene is the song "Come Along With Me".]]
** [[spoiler: The final scene of the series: Shermy and Beth, who are implied to be the reincarnation of Finn and Jake in the future climb the now giant Fern tree and pull the sword out from the top branch before striking a pose very much like the one Finn and Jake do at the end of the title sequence, signifying that they are now taking the mantle as the defenders of Ooo. [[AndTheAdventureContinues "The fun will never end" indeed...]]]]
** [[spoiler:''Distant Lands'' gives a minor HappyEndingOverride, as it's implied Jake died shortly after the finale and Finn was never really able to recover.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDragonJakeLong'' has had it rough, as Haley pointed out in the penultimate episode "Being Human"; He's had to run himself ragged defending the magical world at the expense of his free time, lie to his oblivious father about what he's doing, and lose the girl he loves twice over. However in the series finale "Hong Kong Longs" [[spoiler: Jake's father finally learns about what's been going on, and is actually pretty cool with it. Rose regains her memories of her life as Huntsgirl, and reunites with him. And the Dark Dragon is sealed away in another dimension, making it unlikely that he'll ever be back for a very long time. Holla!]]
* In ''WesternAnimation/AquaTeenHungerForce'', After over a decade of constant abuse from Master Shake, the GrandFinale shows that [[spoiler: after Shake's and Frylock's deaths, Meatwad gets married, starts a family, and overall finally leads a happy, normal life]].
* ''Franchise/AvatarTheLastAirbender'':
** ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'': [[EarthIsABattlefield Century-long war?]] Check. Implacable foe, impossible odds? Check. Last, best hope for [[strike: peace]] victory is ''[[ImprobableAge twelve]]''? Check. [[HeroicSacrifice Multiple]] [[RedemptionEqualsDeath heroes]] {{d|oomedHometown}}ead already? Check. Countdown to utter, utter defeat? ..oh, guess. Sounds like the sort of situation very few people walk away from alive, right? [[spoiler: Wrong. At the end of the Finale, ''all'' of the [[EverybodyLives good guys alive at the start of the finale are still here]], there are [[OfficialCouple three romantic pairs among them]], the war ended [[BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil without either side getting reduced to paste]], Ozai is sentenced to life in prison, [[Characters/AvatarTheLastAirbenderZuko Zuko]] gets to be Fire Lord with the hope that he will reform the Fire Nation from its imperialistic tyranny, and [[Characters/AvatarTheLastAirbenderGeneralIroh Iroh]] [[IJustWantToBeNormal gets his tea shop back]]. [[Characters/AvatarTheLastAirbenderAvatarAang Aang]] is able to make it all happen WITHOUT sacrificing his personal or ethical values.]] Which doesn't come easy either; his friends, his allies ''and'' [[spoiler:his prior incarnations - even the previous airbender incarnation that he expected to agree with him -]] were against him in that matter. Awesome, indeed.
** SequelSeries ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'':
*** [[spoiler: Aang and [[Characters/AvatarTheLastAirbenderKatara Katara]] [[BabiesEverAfter have had kids, some of whom have kids of their own]]; Zuko has allowed his daughter to take the postion of Fire Lord, she has a son who is an avid fire bender, and [[Characters/AvatarTheLastAirbenderTophBeifong Toph's]] daughter is head of the police force that uses her signature metal-bending style.]]
*** ''Legend of Korra'''s first season. [[Characters/TheLegendOfKorraAvatarKorra Korra]] goes through huge amounts of BreakTheHaughty, culminating in [[spoiler: Amon's removal of her bending]], after which she breaks down. [[spoiler: Then Aang shows up, telling her that she's finally connected with her spiritual side, and gives her both the knowledge of Energybending and her bending back. The season ends with her giving Lin her bending back, showing that all that Amon damaged can be repaired.]]
*** Throughout the rest of the series, Korra goes through hell: not only do three separate villains violate her body/spirit in horrifying ways, but she suffers from PTSD and mercury poisoning. Her uncle betrays her, her boyfriend breaks up with her, the world's citizens constantly question and criticize her decisions, and she finally ends up in a downward spiral that ends with her fight-clubbing anonymously in various villages. But she ultimately [[spoiler:finds a way to get rid of the mercury in her system, rebuild her self-esteem, reconcile with her friends and family (and even one of her enemies), and defeat the show's final villain in a way that demonstrates her growth and maturity]]. And just to cap it off, she finds SecondLove with [[spoiler:Asami]] and the two girls are last seen entering the spirit world hand in hand, off on a new adventure.
*** [[Characters/TheLegendOfKorraAsamiSato Asami Sato's]] [[MissingMom mother’s been dead for over a decade]] and ''still'' affects her, the boyfriend [[AndZoidberg (and his brother)]] she took in off the streets out of pure love and generosity cheats on her with her new friend, her [[ArchnemesisDad father’s]] EvilAllAlong, [[BeingGoodSucks she’s arrested for heroism, lived in a sewer and ate garbage soup]] and this was ''before'' said father being DrunkOnTheDarkSide enough to try to [[OffingTheOffspring kill]] her and this was just ''Season 1.'' [[FromBadToWorse Then]] despite all of the past year’s heroics being publicly known, she nearly loses her company due to guilt by association, screwed over by the man supposed to ''help'' her and rekindles her romance with said ex-boyfriend only to be dropped like a bad habit ''again'' all through no fault of her own. [[HopeSpot The company is saved and her personal issues seem over enough to be there for her best friend]] except [[spoiler: said best friend almost dies ''just'' as she realizes she’s in love with Korra,]] and Korra’s out of her life for three years instead of just a couple weeks, she gradually reconciles with her father only for him to [[spoiler: die in a HeroicSacrifice, leaving her truly without a family]] and is on the brink of a [[DespairEventHorizon breakdown]] when Korra’s AWOL after a FantasticNuke went off. How does she ''finally'' catch a break? [[spoiler: [[RelationshipUpgrade Her best friend, Korra, survives the Fantastic Nuke, and she actually reciprocates her feelings]]. When they are alone, Korra suggests they go on a vacation together, just the two of them - anywhere Asami wants. Asami decides they pay a visit to the Spirit World. The series ends with them holding hands and looking lovingly into each others' eyes.]]
*** Really, the entirety of Airbending and Air Nomad culture post-Hundred Year War, period. Once a thriving pacifistic society turned to near extinction, thanks to Fire Lord Sozin and the imperialistic Fire Nation using the comet to ''successfully'' wipe out the air nomads — sans Avatar Aang, who ironically was their main target. Then Aang (and Appa) go through a slumber for 99-years, which led the rest of the world to believe that all air-benders were extinct. And this is before Aang finally wakes up and realizes he has the burden of not only being the Avatar, but also the '''''LAST''''' airbender. Of course, we all know the story of Aang goes through all the struggles (alongside his friends) of finally ending the Hundred Year War, but that doesn't stop there — as he goes through all the great lengths post-''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' in restoring the air temples, finding new sky bison, and preserving Air Nomad culture through the non-bending Air Acolytes. After settling down with Katara as his wife, he ''finally'' has another airbender accompanying aside him through his youngest son, Tenzin, to which he goes through all the great lengths to spend time with him as a means for the latter to pass on his legacy. By ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'', Tenzin does just that, having three kids — all of whom are air benders, and creating a new Air Temple at Republic City. It doesn't come without struggle, as Amon at one point kidnaps them and nearly takes away their bending before Korra saves them and finally unlocks her airbending abilities, followed by an even more significant threat with Unalaq and Vaatu. ''Then'' Harmonic Convergence happens, and all of a sudden, a handful of non-benders (Prime example being Bumi, Kai, Opal, and of course, Zaheer) gained airbending — which brings forth the return of a bending culture that has been gone for about '''200 years'''. Even then, the new air benders are faced with the threat of the Earth Queen and the aforementioned Zaheer, to which Korra and co. go through great lengths to stop them from being a threat to them and the world. Jinora being appointed as airbending master by her father can serving as a culminating moment for the entire air nation after so much struggle they've endured for nearly two centuries. And while they're still small in numbers compared to the other benders as of Season 4, they are far from the near extinction they faced in the previous series and continue to thrive as protectors of the ''Avatar'' world under Tenzin's leadership.
* ''WesternAnimation/BojackHorseman'' built itself to fame by unleashing a brutal DeconstructorFleet unto feel-good sitcom tropes and {{Hard Truth Aesop}}s ranging from, "Family is a tar pit" to "[[RejectedApology Sometimes it's too late to be forgiven]]" to "The only way live in a cruel, uncaring world is to keep yourself distracted with mindless tasks." But there are a few examples of this:
** At the end of Season 4, a single, far off light is visible in the distance: [[spoiler: after losing Hollyhock, the girl he believed was his daughter (actually his half-sister, long story), [=BoJack=] abandons his trademark self-centeredness in the hopes he can make her happy, even if he never sees her again, by giving information that will lead Hollyhock to her birth parents over to her eight dads. [=BoJack=] even says he doesn't care if her dads lie about how they got it, as long as Hollyhock gets it. For his efforts, [=BoJack=] and Hollyhock are able to reconnect, and he flashes his first truly genuine smile in the series.]] Very possibly a far happier ending than most viewers had come to expect at that point.
** The four main characters, [[spoiler:aside from [=BoJack=], who got a BittersweetEnding]], get this in the finale - [[spoiler:Todd reconnects with his mother and stepfather, maintains a stable romantic relationship, and VIM Agency's daycare idea has been the most successful venture he's had and will continue to run for the time being, Princess Carolyn gets married to Judah, Mr. Peanutbutter has finally learned to stop chasing relationships to find fulfillment, and while Diane ends her friendship with [=BoJack=] on mutual, if somber, terms, she finally finds happiness in Houston with Guy and as the author of the Ivy Tran mystery books]].
* The fourth season of ''WesternAnimation/Castlevania2017'' gives its heroes, and even some of its villains, happy endings after the hell they endured: [[spoiler:Alucard embraces his humanity once more after saving the people of Denasti and finds a home among them. Trevor survives his final battle with Death (thanks to Saint-Germain's aid) and will be around to help raise his and Sypha's child. Hector and Issac make amends and put their plans fur culling[=/=]exterminating humanity aside. Striga and Morana, after discovering Carmilla's death, decide to embark westward together. And finally, Dracula and Lisa are fully resurrected after Death's attempt to force their souls into an unsuitable vessel and, with a new lease on life, decide to retire happily to the quiet English countryside.]]
* In ''WesternAnimation/CatDog'', the Grand Finale had some of the most difficult situations the title brothers had to get through, but in it concluded with a satisfying ending ([[ThrowTheDogABone and totally winning]] [[FailureHero for once]]). They [[spoiler:are finally reunited with their delighted parents, [[ItMakesSenseInContext the Greasers are eaten by a sea monster]], Winslow decides to leave them alone permanently, and the duo learn to put up with each other's problems (Dog's stupidity and Cat's jerkishness).]]
* ''WesternAnimation/CourageTheCowardlyDog'' goes through hell (at times almost literally) in most episodes and against impossible odds, often being close to the edge, to save Muriel but most of the time he ends up earning some piece of mind--until next time.
* The eponymous character from ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'' certainly qualifies. After three seasons of being despised by everyone as a human and a ghost, hunted down, and having a just plain miserable life, in the GrandFinale, it all pays off: He becomes known as a hero to the entire planet, his secret is let out to everyone including his parents thus leading to perhaps a more popular reputation and perhaps becoming closer to his family, and to top it all off, he finally hooks up with his female friend which has been hinted at since the series began. It definitely seems that his future is brighter than it was [[BadFuture originally]] [[FutureMeScaresMe intended]].
* ''WesternAnimation/TheDreamstone'' is something of a Reconstruction, since nearly every episode ended on an AntiClimax with the heroes winning effortlessly against [[VillainousUnderdog the Urpneys]]. On rare occasions however, the larger SympatheticPOV would be given to the heroes, where they would be forced to use a palpable amount of skill and endurance to stop a NotSoHarmless plot. The pilot and "A Day Out" are key examples (especially the former which involved two {{Disney Death}}s).
** An inverse comes for the Urpneys in "The Spidermobile". After four seasons of being pathetically beaten by the Noops and Wuts, Urpgor invents a machine so perfect that the Urpneys don’t just win- they win hands down. Sure, the status quo makes sure they don’t keep the Dreamstone, but it’s still very pleasing to see the Urpneys finally have their day.
* ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'' never fits this more than with its five-part "Super Ducktales" episode. Fenton Crackshell gets recruited as Scrooge's new accountant after the Beagle Boys pull a dirty trick that forces him to move his Money Bin, and Fenton welcomes the chance to prove himself as someone. Unfortunately, the poor guy keeps screwing up worse by the minute. Things seemingly get better when he gets a hold of the Gizmoduck suit and gets to turn his fortunes around as a celebrated hero, but then he gets taken over and gets turned into an unwilling criminal that becomes public enemy number one that steals Scrooge's fortune in events that leave ultimately him penniless, homeless, ''and'' in prison. Even after Gizmoduck is freed from control and breaks Scrooge out, some [[DiabolusExNihilo Giant Space Robots From Nowhere]] steal the Money Bin. The two then head into space to finally recover it and Fenton manages to defeat the robots' leader ''without'' the use of the Gizmoduck suit, and by the time they return to Earth the Money Bin's not only placed back in its original location but Scrooge, having discovered the Fenton's SecretIdentity, gratefully rehires him under both guises. And then to top it all off, all this new confidence leads Fenton to finally ask his long-time crush out.
** Fenton still has his tendency to screw up though. And unfortunately, Gandra Dee turns out to be an ungrateful shallow bitch. Fenton even has to apologize to her once, when she had refused to help him earlier in the episode!
* After '''over ten years''' of various defeats, setbacks and humiliations from their attempts to earn respect from their peers, ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'' ends with [[spoiler:the eponymous characters (Eddy in particular) finally getting their wish in [[WesternAnimation/EdEddnEddysBigPictureShow Big Picture Show]], being actually liked and respected by the neighborhood kids who had once previously detested them]].
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}''
** [[spoiler: [[Characters/FuturamaPhilipJFry Philip J. Fry]] does eventually win Leela's heart, but it takes him 8 years, and only happens after he matures enough to accept [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy that Leela's happiness is more important than his own, even if it means she finds it with someone else.]] It's just fortunate for him that the man he gave up Leela to is posthumously found to be an older double of Fry, making Fry a convenient DoppelgangerReplacementLoveInterest. His double had to wait 24 years and go through the same life lesson for Leela's love, and even then it's unfortunately short lived because of his untimely death.]]
** Zoidberg has been a ButtMonkey for the whole series, but he finally [[spoiler:finds a beautiful kind woman who loves him for who he is, and even adores his horrid stench, and the two drive off together in her garbage truck]]. Even better, since it's the last season, there's no ResetButton.
* ''WesternAnimation/GoofTroop'''s ending for PJ, [[UndyingLoyalty a very loyal friend]] who selflessly went out of his way to help people out of their predicaments and helped with plans he had [[OnlySaneMan good reasons]] to be [[TheDragAlong dead-set against]] for no compensation many, ''many'' times. [[BeingGoodSucks He had also been]] [[NoRespectGuy used by his friend, abused by his father, and attacked or overlooked by others since the beginning.]] In ''WesternAnimation/AGoofyMovie'', he was the only protagonist ''not'' to get a happy ending. In ''An Extremely Goofy Movie'', he achieves his long-time goal of leaving home, meets a girl who is [[CallBack exactly his type (a poet)]], likes him back, and chooses him ''over Bobby'', asking him out so that he doesn't have to ask her out. In the process he reveals HiddenDepths which finally gets him some respect ''and'' goes through CharacterDevelopment, which boosts his confidence and gives him a more positive attitude--and when they combine, we get "New PJ." [[spoiler: ''After'' all this, [[JerkJock Bradley]] puts him into a perilous situation, but he survives, and by the very end, he couldn't be happier.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'' ends a high note; after two seasons and several dozen shorts worth of thrills, spills, hardships and heartaches, the cast finally get what they've been working for; Dipper Pines and Mabel Pines have gone from belittled nobodies to town heroes, Stan has finally [[spoiler: reconciled with his estranged brother and they're living their childhood dreams of sailing all over the world and having adventures]], Soos [[spoiler: becomes the new head of the Mystery Shack and gets to be with his LoveInterest Melody]], [[Characters/GravityFallsTheAuthor the Author's]] fight against Bill Cipher finally ends [[spoiler: with Bill's destruction]], Old Man [=McGucket=] has made a fortune selling his inventions, moving from his shack in the dump to an opulent mansion, Pacifica Northwest and Gideon Gleeful both [[TookALevelInKindness are working on being better people]] and [[TheChewToy Toby Determined]] is now doing sports on the same network as Shandra Jimenez.
* The ''WesternAnimation/HappilyEverAfterFairyTalesForEveryChild'' episode, "The Frog Princess," has Prince Gavin, who just won his father's kingdom thanks to the Lila, a frog he was forced to marry, and should be happy, but he can't get over his wife being, well, a frog. So she goes back to the swamp, and Gavin realizes that he actually loves her. But in order to find her again, he ends up swimming the longest lake, climbing the highest mountain, and running as far as he possibly can.
* ''WesternAnimation/IHeartArlo'': In the Season 1 finale "[[Recap/IHeartArloS1E19TheUncondemning The Uncondemning]]", Arlo responds to Edmée's danger and returns to the Louisiana swamp where he was raised for fifteen long years, where he finds it under a curse by the wicked Bog Lady, who lures Arlo to her with the addition of separating him from his friends and destroying their only way back home, before hypnotizing him into never leaving her again. It's only through the arrival of Bertie and Alia does Arlo snap out of her spell, allowing him to rescue Edmée, and the whole group reunites thanks to Marcellus' tracking devices, and when the Bog Lady turns down Arlo's apology, Edmée blows up her shack, which kills the Bog Lady and sends everyone flying onto a train unharmed. Arlo then happily reunites with Edmée and they make it back to Seaside for the Uncondemning, where Arlo sings and celebrates with his friends and has a lesson to heart that even though he doesn't live in the swamp anymore, it will always be part of him and where he's going.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheIntruderII'' sees WesternAnimation/TheIntruder come back, [[spoiler: assimilate SARA's core, gloat about killing TOM 4, TOM 5 loses an arm, and the ''Absolution'' is sacrificed to kill the Intruder--but TOM managed to back up SARA and upload her onto a new ship and one of SARA's first task once she comes back online is to build TOM a new arm.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitchTheSeries'': Ever since Angel's capture by Gantu, fans were not happy about this ending at all and have made fanfics about how Angel came back. Eventually, there was a canon way in the form of the series finale, "Snafu". The plot: Lilo was organizing her experiment log when she and Stitch suddenly remember Angel, who Lilo promised that they will get back, but she doesn't know where Angel is, so Nosy, who has escaped an episode earlier thanks to [[TheKlutz Woops]], tells them the location. While Lilo and Stitch were devising a plan, Lilo discovers an experiment pod labeled "120", which causes Jumba to explain that 120 shouldn't be hydrated, which Pleakley does accidentally. As the title suggests, Experiment 120 ruins anybody's plans, the protagonists', in particular. However, when Stitch and Angel meet again, ThePowerOfLove saves the day, as well as the several experiments Gantu captured over the course of the show's run.
* ''WesternAnimation/MoralOrel'' ends in this way, where despite the fact that the main character lives in a CrapsackWorld of hypocrisy and zealotry and having one of the worst father figures imaginable, Orel ends up growing up to raise a genuinely happy family, with his brothers becoming a fireman and a policeman, though his parents are seemingly doomed forever to misery and hatred. That and throughout the final season it's been shown that there's a few residents of Moralton that have a chance at happiness.
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'':
** In the "The Return Of Harmony" two-parter, the Mane Cast has to do this, ''especially'' Twilight Sparkle. [[BigBad Discord]] [[BreakTheCutie breaks]] and {{Mind Rape}}s all of them (except Twilight), turns their homeland into a chaotic WorldGoneMad (centered in their hometown of Ponyville, no less), and Twilight crosses the DespairEventHorizon when the Elements Of Harmony won't work because of the previously mentioned events. She was getting ready to ''pack up and leave'' before Princess Celestia sends her all the letters she'd sent to her on friendship the past season. She then has to ''literally'' fight her friends to let her use her magic to remind them of all the good times they've shared before they can finally use the Elements Of Harmony to vanquish Discord. They saved all of Equestria and restored their friendship but it was ''far'' from easy!
** "A Canterlot Wedding" is another prime example of this. By the time Celestia finally gets around to declaring the [[spoiler:real bride and groom formally married]], there's no doubt that both of them have earned it after what they've been through. And of course Twilight Sparkle, after having her suspicions blown off by everypony and then having the main villain promptly banish her underground as soon as everypony else has left...ultimately wins back their respect ''and'' gains a new CoolBigSis in the bargain.
** "Crystal Empire" takes this even further. [[spoiler: [[http://tinyurl.com/oyqjmj3 One scene in particular]] makes it look like Sombra was victorious, but it turned out [[AllJustADream it was just an illusion created by the nightmare door.]] Eventually Twilight realizes that stopping Sombra required accepting help from others to an extent that might deprive her of the credit for saving the kingdom and might mean she fails her "test." In the end, [[SecretTestOfCharacter it also turned out that accepting this was part of the test.]]]]
** ''[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS4E26TwilightsKingdomPart2 Twilight's Kingdom Part 2]]'', even more so than previous seasons. Tirek has left most of Equestria powerless and defeated, sent three of its Princesses to Tartarus, and has more or less become a PhysicalGod. Even Discord is left [[DespairEventHorizon broken and powerless]] after betraying Equestria to the tyrannical centaur before being betrayed himself. The mane six think all is lost...then get the last Rainbow Key, allowing them to unlock their [[SuperMode Rainbow Power forms]], defeat Tirek, and restore Equestria, with Twilight finally finding her place as Princess of Friendship. Not to mention that unlocking the Rainbow Power was the culmination of all the Mane Six's hard work, in a subplot that spanned across the entire fourth season. Earned, indeed.
** ''[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS6E26ToWhereAndBackAgainPart2 To Where and Back Again Part 2]]'', this really takes it up a notch. [[spoiler:Queen Chrysalis has had her Changelings kidnap the Royal Family and Elements of Harmony, replaced them with drones impersonating them, has an AntiMagic throne that prevents all magic but that of the Changelings from being used within her hive and within a large area around it, captured Discord and Trixie, who were part of a rescue team led by Starlight Glimmer, and with Starlight unable to use her magic, prepares to drain the traitor Thorax of his love energy before killing him for treason, veritably leaving Equestria completely leaderless/defenseless for another Changeling invasion. Starlight is able to remind Thorax of how he lost his HorrorHunger by sharing the love he received from the Crystal Ponies, and suggests he share all of it at once with Chrysalis. This leads to Chrysalis' entire Swarm pulling a HeelRaceTurn that leads to the destruction of Chrysalis' throne, freedom of her captives, and essentially destroying any future threat Chrysalis had over Equestria. Once the dust settles, the Royal Family and Elements of Harmony are able to enjoy some rest and relaxation at the Sunset Festival in Starlight's old village, while the Changelings can now co-exist peacefully with pony-kind under their new benevolent leader, King Thorax. After everything Chrysalis put everyone through, they've ''definitely'' earned it.]]
** In ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirlsRainbowRocks'', [[HeelFaceTurn former villain]] Sunset Shimmer spends most of the movie being hated by everyone in the school (made even worse by a HatePlague cast upon it by the new villains, the Dazzlings) and being forced to watch from the sidelines as her friends fight and yet, through it all, she tries her very best to shed her old self and try to become as supportive to her friends as possible. This eventually works out by the end when she joins the Rainbooms in defeating the Dazzlings, leading to her bad reputation beginning to dwindle.
** After over five seasons of setbacks, humiliations and striving, the Cutie Mark Crusaders ''finally'' earn their cutie marks in "[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS5E19CrusadersOfTheLostMark Crusaders of the Lost Mark]]".
** "The Last Problem" sees Twilight Sparkle ascend to sole ruler of Equestria, with a now full-grown and muscular Spike as her [[NumberTwo royal adviser]]. The rest of the Mane Six assist her in the establishment of a Friendship Council that meets once a moon to get up to speed on their post-Elements lives (as her new protegee Luster Dawn gets to witness). The Crusaders become teachers at the new School of Friendship. And Celestia and Luna, the previous rulers (who fused their separate crowns to make Twilight's), have headed off to Silver Shoals for their retirement.
* ''WesternAnimation/OverTheGardenWall'': Wirt and Greg, after growing along the way, are finally able to get home and leave the Unknown a better place than when they found it.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'': In spite of all the suffering the characters go through, thanks to the main antagonist's actions, in the end, they pretty much end up with happy lives at the end of it in the DistantFinale:
** [[Characters/TheOwlHouseLuzNoceda Luz Noceda]], who spends a good chunk of the series questioning what she wants to do with her future due to being torn between the life she wants in the Boiling Isles and her attachment to her mother on Earth, [[spoiler:and spends a good chunk of the final season trapped in a self-loathing, depressive state prepared to abandon her dream of living in the Boiling Isles forever, manages to forgive herself for unintentionally aiding [[BigBad Belos']] [[FinalSolution Day of Unity plot]] and defeats him after dying and meeting the titan, and getting resurrected, and ends up living her dream of being a witch on the Boiling Isles with her mother's blessing, getting to stay with her FoundFamily and girlfriend Amity Blight.]]
** Eda Clawthorne, having spent most of her life as an anti-authority troublemaker and criminal, [[spoiler:who was estranged from her romantic partner Raine, her sister who cursed her, the owl beast who she was cursed with, and her parents, is able to reconcile with all of them, and presumably restarts her relationship with the formermost one, and is allowed to continue mentoring Luz as headmaster of an educational institution that she runs, called the University of Wild Magic, built on the remains of the Emperor's Castle, at the heart of the Isles.]]
** [[spoiler:King befriends the Collector and gets to continue being with his mother and sister figures and has grown into a teenage titan with the ability to generate his own glyph language.]]
** [[spoiler: [[Characters/TheOwlHouseAmityBlight Amity Blight]] reconciles with the rest of her family, barring [[AbusiveParents her mother]], becomes an artifact gathering adventurer, and continues her relationship with Luz, with no sign of their relationship ending anytime soon.]]
** [[spoiler:Despite having lost Flapjack, and living under Belos' oppressive thumb for most of his life and nearly dying at his hands at least 3 times, Hunter is able to live a happy life as a palisman carver serving under the tutelage of the Bat Queen, Gwendolyn, and Dell, and is implied to be in a relationship with Willow, who is continuing a career as a professional flyer derby athlete.]]
** [[spoiler:Lilith Clawthorne now runs a museum with Hooty, and like her sister, Eda, has acquired the ability to transform into a harpy form.]]
** [[spoiler:Edric and Gus both become instructors at Eda's aforementioned University of Wild Magic, with the latter running a human-demon realm exchange program.]]
** [[spoiler: [[Characters/TheOwlHouseTheCollector The Collector]] ends up [[HeelFaceTurn turning over a new leaf]], forms genuine friendships with the main characters, and is given Francois as a gift by King, who wishes for his return, and is implied to visit the Isles from time to time in the finale.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerPuffGirls1998'' does so for ''The City of Frownsville''.
* ''WesternAnimation/ReadyJetGo'': [[spoiler:In the ChristmasEpisode, Mitchell's predicament was that he wanted to be a part of the group, but can't quite figure out how to fit in. After going through a lot of misery and singing an AwardBaitSong, he gets his happy ending when the other kids befriend him]].
* ''WesternAnimation/SamuraiJack'': After being sent into a BadFuture where the demon wizard Aku rules with terror, [[Characters/SamuraiJackJack the titular hero]] had to spend several decades fighting Aku and his allies and being denied hard-won opportunities to get back into his own time before he could finally do so, defeat Aku and save the world. In a twist of drama, however, he also pays a great price for his victory - his girlfriend, a daughter of Aku whom he hoped to finally marry, [[GrandfatherParadox but could not exist since Aku was destroyed]]. Though after the initial heartbreak, Jack does seem to have found peace. [[spoiler: Fortunately, the video game interquel ''[[VideoGame/SamuraiJackBattleThroughTime Battle Through Time]]'' allows Ashi to live in the HundredPercentCompletion GoldenEnding, playing this trope as straight as possible.]]
* In ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated'': during the GrandFinale, after [[spoiler: the gang destroys the evil EldritchAbomination, they find that it was [[RetGone ERASED from]] [[DeaderThanDead history entirely]]! This creates a new timeline where pretty much everyone's lives are better: everyone who was consumed by the entity (or died in some other manner) is alive and well, Sheriff Stone and Mayor Nettles are married with 4 children (3 boys and 1 girl), Danny Darrow had a better life and is now head of Darrow University, Shaggy is an award-winning chef respected by his parents, Ricky Owens is thin and married to Cassidy, and his company, Creationex, instead of being a polluting nightmare, is an environmentally friendly business, with a sane Pericles as a spokes-parrot, Fred grew up with his birth parents (who help deliver babies and have never touch a trap), Daphne's parents are OK with her and Fred's relationship, and Velma and Hot Dog Water have won many academic awards together. It initially seems subverted for the gang themselves, since without the entity's influence, the mysteries they solved during the series NEVER HAPPENED, and they're mystery solvers in a place without mysteries... until they receive a disc from the new "Mr. E", who also has RippleEffectProofMemory, and after his revelation that timeline switches have happened before, they realize that there's a whole WORLD of mysteries out there, and set out to solve them!]]
* Happens in ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons''[='=] ''[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS27E5TreehouseOfHorrorXXVI Treehouse of Horror XXVI]]'' segment "Wanted: Dead, then Alive". [[spoiler:Sure, Bart Simpson gets {{impaled|WithExtremePrejudice}}, [[AndShowItToYou disemboweled]], used as a household item and a trophy, bludgeoned to death many times with a sledgehammer, and [[DeathMontage revived only to become a cosmic punching bag again and again and again]]; but in the end, he manages to [[BackFromTheDead get better]] and defeat Sideshow Bob with help from [[BadassFamily his family]]. Also, as Marge points out, he has been showing responsibility with Santa's Little Helper, which would explain his UndyingLoyalty and {{determinat|or}}ion to find Bart. Oh, and did we mention that he hangs out at Springfield University, with Bob as a new [[MixAndMatchCritters mix-and-match critter]]?]]
** In the end of ''Krusty Gets Busted'', Bart got very angry at Sideshow Bob and made a report that it was Sideshow Bob who was responsible on Framing Krusty by Armed Robbing the Kwik-E-Mart. The police bailed out Krusty the Clown and arrests Sideshow Bob. Krusty the Clown was very happy with Bart. After having the picture being taken, We see Bart with new Krusty Merchandise in his bedroom.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheSmurfsAChristmasCarol'', Grouchy does this to avert the BadFuture that he sees of all the other Smurfs being captured by Gargamel on Christmas Day.
* The finale of ''WesternAnimation/{{Squidbillies}}'' has Rusty's son leaving Dougal County with his mother, who has full custody. Stuck between her invitation to come with them and loyalty to his abusive family, Rusty is torn. Then Granny suddenly dies (permanently this time) and after seeing his father's shameless, selfish behavior that includes ''grave robbing'' his mother of her wedding ring, his decision is made. With the help of Granny's ghost, he knocks out his father, takes the ring, and gets in Early's truck. He proposes to Tammy and escapes his father one last time, moving away and becoming a happy family man with over five children. Granny remains in Heaven with her late husband and only Early is left unhappy, bitter and drunk. Despite being a comedy first, the theme of Rusty escaping the Cuyler family cycle of abuse was a recurring theme and it is very satisfying to see him finally break it and raise a happy, steady family.
* ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsRebels'': After spending the entire series struggling to claim any victory against the Empire, and suffering crippling defeats again and again, Lothal is freed, all of the crew (except Kanan) live, Ezra rejects the Dark Side, and Thrawn is defeated. The DistantFinale shows Hera raising [[SomeoneToRememberHimBy a son]], Lothal having been renewed from its previous devastation, Zeb returning home to his people, and Sabine and Ahsoka, both having survived, heading out to find Ezra and bring him home.
* ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'':
** In "Change Your Mind", the GrandFinale of the original series, [[spoiler: [[Characters/StevenUniverseStevenQuartzUniverse Steven Quartz Universe]] is able to get through to White Diamond and show her that she can fulfill her own purpose of rising above flaws by accepting them for what they are. Steven brings White, Blue, and Yellow back to Earth and together they successfully heal all the Corrupted Gems, including Jasper and the Centipeetles. The Off Colors finally make it back to Earth for Lars to be reunited with Sadie.]]
*** Although there are shades of BittersweetEnding in this episode, namely [[spoiler: the reactions of the Gems to Steven leaving, and the uncertainty of if he'll ever come back to Beach City or not]], the final episode of ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverseFuture'', as well of the entire series, ends with [[spoiler: Steven in a better place mentally, him and Connie still together, and Garnet assures Steven that no matter the path he takes, she, Amethyst, and Pearl [[AlwaysWithYou will be a part of it]], and the Beach City residents cheer him as he leaves.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'':
** In "Chef Aid", the boys hold a benefit concert for Chef after he is sentenced to jail due to bad legal judgement over the song "Stinky Britches". However, the executive, who claims he is "above the law", tries to sabotage the concert and nearly succeeds, but Johnnie Cochran saves the day in the end.
** Stan gets to do this in "Asspen", whether he wants to or not.
** Cartman does this in "Red Sleigh Down" to get on Santa's Nice List.
** Everybody in South Park does this in "Red Man's Greed". [[spoiler: Even after becoming homeless and contracting SARS, Stan helps them earn it with Sprite, soup and Dayquil.]]
** After Wendy leaves Stan in Season 7, we had to wait until Season 11 for this trope to work its magic again. The two of them reunite after exposing a fixed list on who the cutest boy in school is.
** Kyle earns his happy ending in "It's Christmas In Canada". After having Ike taken away by his birth parents, the boys go all the way to Canada to get the prime minister to change his mind. [[spoiler: The prime minister turns out to be Saddam Hussein, who made up those absurd laws [[ForTheEvulz for the hell of it]], the Canadians beat the crap out of him, and Kyle is finally reunited with his little brother.]]
** "Quest For Ratings": The boys' news show is getting low ratings because everyone prefers to watch Craig's stupid show with the dogs wearing hats. The reason? [[spoiler: The viewers liked it because they were on cough syrup.]]
** An odd variation in "The Losing Edge". The kids are fed up with playing baseball and want to spend summer doing something else. [[spoiler: Stan's dad Randy manages to cause their team to lose inadvertently, earning the kids their happy ending.]]
** After being brutally injured by Cartman over the fate of ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'', Kyle earns another happy ending in "Cartoon Wars", both things happening in part 1 and 2 respectively.
** The boys let themselves go and spend 2 months on the computer to earn another happy ending in "Make Love, Not ''VideoGame/{{Warcraft}}''".
** The boys, Ike, and every last Canadian earn theirs in "Canada On Strike".
** Mr. Garrison earns his in "Eek! A Penis!".
** "Margaritaville": Kyle earns everyone their happy ending. However, UsefulNotes/BarackObama was praised for it instead, much to Kyle's dismay.
** One-shot character Kip Drordy earns his happy ending in "You Have 0 Friends", thanks to Stan.
** Kyle yet again earns his happy ending in "Crack Baby Athletic Association", with help from [[spoiler: Music/{{Slash|Musician}} of Music/GunsNRoses fame.]]
** Kyle earns yet another happy ending in "Splatty Tomato" after finding his missing brother Ike and capture the president. Kyle also manages to make Heidi Turner, [[HeelRealization realize what Cartman's abuse has transformed her into]] and allowing her to break up with Cartman for good.
** Speaking of Heidi Turner, after having been cyberbullied off twitter in season 20, enduring an abusive relationship with Cartman in season 21 and eventually becoming Cartman's DistaffCounterpart, She finally earns her happy ending after breaking up with Cartman where she goes back to being a happy and healthy NiceGirl by Season 22.
** The ultimate ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' expression of this trope may well be the "Imaginationland" storyline. An apocalyptic war between good and evil (orchestrated by a terrorist cell in order to kill both sides) in the subconscious of humanity! Beloved characters die gruesomely! Kurt Russell gets raped by forest animals! But in the end, it is ''Butters'' of all people who pulls victory from the jaws of defeat and saves the day, insuring everyone gets a happy ending. Even Al Gore is vindicated about the Man-Bear-Pig!
** The ending of ''[[WesternAnimation/SouthParkPostCovidTheReturnOfCovid Post Covid: The Return of Covid]]'' features a happy future for everyone who suffered in the previous BadFuture as a result of the Boys deciding to remain friends while the rest of the townsfolk decide to forgive each other. [[Characters/SouthParkStanMarsh Stan Marsh]] has a successful career in the Space Force while his mother and sister are still alive, [[Characters/SouthParkKyleBroflovski Kyle Broflovski]] is HappilyMarried with two children who considers Stan their HonoraryUncle, [[Characters/SouthParkKennyMcCormick Kenny McCormick's]] still alive and remains a successful scientist, and [[Characters/SouthParkButtersStotch Butters Stotch]] is still sane and happy working at Denny's. [[Characters/SouthParkEricCartman Eric Cartman]] is an inversion where he had a happy life in the BadFuture but chose to give it up for his peers sake, resulting in him becoming a homeless drunk in the revised future.
* ''WesternAnimation/ThomasAndFriends'':
** In "[[Recap/ThomasAndFriendsS1E3TheSadStoryOfHenry The Sad Story of Henry]]", Henry refuses to come out of a tunnel during a rainstorm, even after the rain stops, so Sir Topham Hatt bricks him up in the tunnel. Henry is miserable with nothing to do but watch his friends pass through the neighboring tunnel, and longs to be let out so he can be useful again. In the following episode, "[[Recap/ThomasAndFriendsS1E4EdwardGordonAndHenry Edward, Gordon, and Henry]]", Gordon breaks down near Henry's Tunnel while pulling the express, and Edward isn't strong enough to move the heavy coaches by himself. Henry is more than happy to come out of the tunnel, and helps Edward pull the express, earning the praise of the passengers and a new coat of paint from Sir Topham Hatt. He also overcomes his fear of the rain and doesn't worry about hiding in a tunnel to keep his paint dry anymore.
** "[[Recap/ThomasAndFriendsS1E7ThomasAndTheBreakdownTrain Thomas and the Breakdown Train]]" serves as this for Thomas' introductory story arc. In the previous two episodes, "[[Recap/ThomasAndFriendsS1E5ThomasTrain Thomas' Train]]" and "[[Recap/ThomasAndFriendsS1E6ThomasAndTheTrucks Thomas and the Trucks]]", Thomas tries unsuccessfully to prove he can be really useful, first by taking Henry's passenger train when Henry is sick (he accidentally leaves it behind at Knapford Station), then by taking Edward's freight train when he and Edward swap jobs (the Troublesome Trucks push him, causing him to lose control). In this episode, the Troublesome Trucks push James off the rails, and Thomas wastes no time getting the Breakdown Train so he can rescue James. This heroic act earns Thomas the approval of Sir Topham Hatt, who rewards him with his own branch line and two coaches, Annie and Clarabel. Thomas also gains the respect of the other engines, especially Gordon.
** "[[Recap/ThomasAndFriendsS2E14ACloseShave A Close Shave]]" serves as this for Duck in the "Duck and the Diesel Engine" trilogy. In the previous episode, "[[Recap/ThomasAndFriendsS2E13DirtyWork Dirty Work/Diesel's Devious Deed]]", Diesel had spread lies about the engines to the Troublesome Trucks and pinned the blame on Duck to make him look bad so Sir Topham Hatt will send Duck away and he will take his place. Duck is sent to help Edward with his train of Troublesome Trucks, who break away from Edward and chase him down. Duck does his best to slow the trucks to a halt, narrowly avoiding crashing into James' passenger train and being diverted into a siding, where [[CarMeetsHouse he crashes into a barber shop]]. When Sir Topham Hatt comes to inspect the damage, he praises Duck for saving the lives of everyone onboard James' train, then tells him that he found out about Diesel's lies and sent him away in disgrace. When Duck returns to Tidmouth Sheds after being washed and mended, the engines are happy to have him back.
** "[[Recap/ThomasAndFriendsS2E17TheDeputation The Deputation]]" serves as this for Donald and Douglas' introductory story arc. The twins arrive on Sodor, but only one is expected. Sir Topham Hatt gives them a trial, deciding to keep the more useful engine and send the less useful one away. The twins try to be equally useful so Sir Topham Hatt will have to keep them both, but things don't work well for them in "[[Recap/ThomasAndFriendsS2E16BreakVan Break Van]]" when Donald wrecks a signal box and Douglas destroys the Spiteful Brake Van. When snow comes early to Sodor, the twins work together to clear the lines, rescuing Henry, who is trapped in a snowdrift, in the process. This heroic act convinces the engines to pursuade Sir Topham Hatt to keep both twins, and Sir Topham Hatt rewards the twins with a new coat of paint.
** When Emily first came to Sodor in "[[Recap/ThomasAndFriendsS7E1EmilysNewCoaches Emily's New Coaches]]", she was shunned by the other engines for taking Annie and Clarabel, and genuinely didn't understand why they were so unfriendly to her. When Oliver breaks down on a crossing and Thomas is unable to stop in time, Emily pushes Oliver out of the way just in time. Sir Topham Hatt and the engines praise her for a job well done, and Sir Topham Hatt rewards her with her own coaches.
** In "[[Recap/ThomasAndFriendsS7E20HaroldAndTheFlyingHorse Harold and the Flying Horse]]", Harold the Helicopter wishes he could go to the Vicar's party like his friends, but he has to patrol the island, and nobody seems to need his help at first. When Pegasus the Cart Horse wanders into a ditch, he needs to be saved. Harold saves him and takes him to the party, and as a result, he gets to go to the party after all, where he is praised as a hero.
* ''WesternAnimation/ToadPatrol'' does this for both seasons. In Season 1, the toads travel to the fairy ring despite several dangers and close calls, managing to all enter the fairy ring with no time to spare. In Season 2, their mission to turn the toadstools back into toadlets using magic instruments comes with many setbacks, including [[spoiler: the partial destruction of one instrument, the full destruction of another, and the musician of the third turning into a toadstool himself. Despite this, they manage to pull it off and it ends on a triumphant musical number as everyone celebrates]].
* ''WesternAnimation/TransformersPrime'' ends with the Autobots definitively defeating Decepticons, saving the Earth, and restoring Cybertron to its former glory after eons of struggle and loss.
* Cameron's ending in the ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Revenge of the Island'' finale; not only does he say he doesn't need his bubble anymore, but also he shares the prize money to his friends as well as his enemies, making everyone happy.
* ''WesternAnimation/WeBareBearsTheMovie'' serves as the GrandFinale of the series, where after so much struggle of being shunned by humanity and forced to be on the run, the three Bears earned the acceptance they've wanted for so long.
