1≤≤Robert William Corddry (born February 4, 1971), commonly known as just Rob Corddry, is an American comedian. He's best known for being a correspondent on Series/TheDailyShowWithJonStewart from 2002 to 2006, a role that he's still commonly associated with over a decade later. Like Creator/StephenColbert, Creator/JohnOliver, and others, he's go on to a successful career since leaving the program, starring in a bunch of films including Film/HotTubTimeMachine (2010), Film/WarmBodies (2013), and Film/OfficeChristmasParty (2016).≤≤He won his first and second Emmy Awards in September 2012 and September 2013. Both were for his work in Series/ChildrensHospital, which he didn't just star in but also wrote for. In terms of his personal life, he's been married to Sandra Corddry since 2002, having two kids. His younger brother Nate, born September 8, 1977, is an actor as well.If you're curious, they look nothing alike, to the point that Nate busts his brother's balls in public by saying that Rob is his father (see here).≤≤Has had prominent guest appearances in two Music/GuidedByVoices music videos.≤----≤!!Some of the actor's work's associated tropes:≤≤* AffectionateParody: A lot of his stuff falls into this vein. One of the above music videos is a half-tribute/half-satire of the notoriously feuding Music/SimonAndGarfunkel. Hell, Film/HotTubTimeMachine is basically an affectionate parody of the entire 80s.≤* AntiHumor: Childrens Hospital in particular has a big chunk of it.≤* ButtMonkey: Corddry's left holding the bag in his movies and TV shows just as often as he's the one getting everybody else in trouble.≤* FantasticRacism: Somehow, Corddry and his collaborators had the idea of making clowns into their own race, managing to actually pull it off on Childrens Hospital. It helps that the program has a hefty does of ItRunsOnNonsensoleum.≤* NoExceptYes: Corddry was publicly asked if his real dick was exposed in the film Film/OfficeChristmasParty, and he responded on Twitter: "My actual penis is a stunt penis, so yes and no."≤* RagingStiffie: Premise of the 2008 viral video Rob Corddry Has a 'Broner'".≤* RapidFireComedy: Applies both to his films and his TV work, especially the aforementioned Childrens Hospital.≤* SelfDeprecation: Common thing with him. This seems to come with the territory for people who've starred with Creator/JonStewart, and Corddry is no exception a New York Times interview, he remarked: ≤-->Rob Corddry: I have a designated bag of all kinds of outdated computer wires, every connector imaginable. I should probably go through it and throw out my USB printer cableó who needs that anymore? Do I need two micro USB connectors? I donít remember plugging them into anything. Iím an Eagle Scout and the Boy Scout motto is ĎBe prepared,í so Iím prepared. To go back in time.≤* StarMakingRole: Hot Tub Time Machine. Starting out as a Daily Show alum gave him momentum, but it was this film that gave Coddry recognition in the movie industry.≤* SurrealHumor: Corddry's work often has shades of this. For example: "THERE IS NO HOT DOG!"From "Planet Score", one of the above Music/GuidedByVoices music videos.
