!! This actor provides examples of:

* AbhorrentAdmirer: Jonah's most famous roles tend to depict him acting like a creep around people who are too polite to tell him to knock it off. ''Knocked Up'', ''Superbad'', ''Megamind'' and ''The Wolf of Wall Street'' have him openly lusting after women, while ''Forgetting Sarah Marshall'', ''The LEGO Movie'' and ''This is the End'' show him displaying a homoerotic fixation towards men.
* BromanticComedy: In ''{{Film/Superbad}}'', the ''Film/TwentyOneJumpStreet'' franchise, ''Film/GetHimToTheGreek'', and ''Film/KnockedUp''.
* {{Jerkass}}: In ''{{Film/Superbad}}'' and ''Film/ThisIsTheEnd'' (the latter of the SugaryMalice variety).
* LargeHam: Does this in his comedy roles save for ''Film/GetHimToTheGreek'' (and even then, he goes on a drug-fuelled rampage).
* ManChild: Famous for playing these as seen in ''Film/{{Cyrus}}'', ''{{Film/Superbad}}'' and the ''Film/TwentyOneJumpStreet'' franchise.
* OnlySaneMan: Sometimes seen especially in ''Film/GetHimToTheGreek''.
* RunningGag: Being told that he looks like Creator/SethRogen from ''Film/FunnyPeople'' to ''Film/TwentyTwoJumpStreet''.
* TomHanksSyndrome: After playing in awkward comedy roles, he was nominated for a UsefulNotes/AcademyAward in ''Film/{{Moneyball}}'' and turned in a series of well-received dramatic roles.
* {{Typecasting}}: Usually cast in comedy films as a depraved {{foil}} against a somewhat more likable character who just happens to be his friend.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: All of his comedy films before ''Film/GetHimToTheGreek'' except ''Film/ThisIsTheEnd''.
