1Anthony Horowitz [[UsefulNotes/KnightFever OBE]] (born 5 April 1955) is an English novelist and television writer.˛ ˛His original novels include the ''Literature/AlexRider'' series, ''Literature/ThePowerOfFive'' series, the ''Literature/DiamondBrothers'' series, and ''Literature/GrooshamGrange'' and its sequel, and ''The Devil and his Boy''.˛˛He created the medieval adventure series ''Series/{{Crossbow}}'' in the 1980s, popular television series ''Series/FoylesWar'' and the rather less popular ''Series/CrimeTraveller'', which functioned as a GenreKiller for UK ScienceFiction television in the 1990s and early 2000s. Other series he has worked on include ''Series/RobinOfSherwood'', ''Series/{{Poirot}}'', ''Series/MurderMostHorrid'' and ''Series/MidsomerMurders''.˛˛He has also written several novels in existing franchises. He wrote the first ''Franchise/SherlockHolmes'' novel to be endorsed by the Conan Doyle Estate; titled ''Literature/TheHouseOfSilk'', it focuses on two different cases that are oddly linked. He followed up with a separate story based in the Holmes universe; ''Literature/{{Moriarty}}''. He also wrote the Literature/JamesBond novel ''Literature/TriggerMortis'' and its followup ''Forever And A Day'', making him the first author to write more than one Bond novel since Raymond Benson.˛˛His 2016 novel ''Literature/MagpieMurders'' and its sequel are [[Creator/AgathaChristie Christie]] pastiches with a meta twist. ''Literature/DanielHawthorneNovels'' are another series of {{metafiction}} murder mysteries, which also feature [[AdamWesting Horowitz himself]] as TheWatson. ˛˛Also scheduled to write the screenplay for the second ''WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfTintin'' movie, [[DevelopmentHell if it ever gets made]].˛----
