-->-- '''Kitty Pryde''', ''X-Women''

''X-Women'' is an ComicBook/XMen story written by Creator/ChrisClaremont and illustrated by Creator/MiloManara. As the title suggests, it is starred only by female members of the X-Men: Storm, Rogue, Psylocke, Kitty Pryde, Rachel and Emma Frost. The story is HotterAndSexier than usual even for the superhero genre, which is saying something.

The team takes a vacation and enjoys themselves in Greece, until Rachel is kidnapped and taken to Madripoor. Before her teammates can rescue her, their powers are cancelled. But that's not going to stop them saving the day, is it?

* BeachEpisode: According to the HowWeGotHere, the heroines were enjoying a vacation in the Mediterranean Sea near the Greek Islands. Kitty Pryde even has a mishap involving her powers, a jet ski and a cruise ship.
* BigBad: Baroness Krieg, [[spoiler:a living PowerNullifier, plans to use Rachel and Emma's telepathy, boosted by Cerebra technology, to [[WarForFunAndProfit start a war between China and India]]. Krieg is responsible for Rachel's kidnapping at the start of the story]].
* BroughtDownToBadass: Storm, Kitty, Rogue and Psylocke all have their mutant powers cancelled early in the story. It doesn't stop them punching and kicking their way through a small army of goons to reach the villains and save the day.
%% * CultureBlind: Subverted: Kitty is completely surprised that Storm can sing "[[Music/CreedenceClearwaterRevival Proud Mary]]" in a complete Music/TinaTurner style.
%% * DistractedByTheSexy: Rachel made up with a random guy in a bar, who then fired to her and kidnapped her.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: The Chief of the cargo cultists is never referred to by name, despite his major role in the story. The X-Men only refer to him as the Chief.
%% * HotterAndSexier: The story is HotterAndSexier than usual even for the superhero genre, which is saying something.
%% * IntroDump: The story starts with Storm, Psyloche, Rogue and Kitty storming a base, and Claremont introduces everyone.
* PowerNullifier: The villains are armed with guns that cancel mutant powers. [[spoiler:It's later revealed that Baroness Krieg's own powers actually cancel or warp mutant powers - the guns and other nullifier technology are based on her abilities, and just boost her power and range]].
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveSupernaturalPowers: While playing on a jet-ski, Kitty phases through the inner chambers of a nearby ship, scaring the hell out of everyone.
* {{Understatement}}: Without time to explain things by talking, Rachel dumped her memories of the last days into Kitty, all at once. "I'm afraid this is gonna hurt". Kitty was in pain for days.
* WalkingTechbane: The deliberate, controlled version. [[spoiler:The Chief of the Cargo Cultists has powers that can shut down any machinery within range. Guns jam uselessly, helicopters fall out of the sky. At one point he shuts down an entire city district]].
* WarForFunAndProfit: [[spoiler:Baroness Krieg intends to use Emma and Rachel's powers, boosted by Cerebra technology, to start a war between China and India]].
* YaoiFangirl: ComicBook/KittyPryde phases through a yacht and ends up catching two men in bed, in the middle of making love. Needless to say, she exits the boat and ends up falling in the water giggling and blushing.
