And running around in those skins--that's gotta be some big fun, don't it? Make you feel like stud-bulls again? How long's it been since you could get it up, Doc?"

Sabretooth: Mary Shelley Overdrive is a 4 issue limited series starring Wolverine's arch nemesis, Victor Creed, which was published from August to November of 2002, written by Dan Jolley with pencils from Tony Harris & Greg Scott.

A tragic tale that elaborates on a more hidden side of Sabretooth that is seldom seen. This story follows Victor as he tries to learn the secret of these mysterious soldiers he encounters during a hit one night. The strange men are after a young woman named Bonnie Hale, whom Victor saves in order to get information.

It doesn't take Bonnie & Sabretooth long to grow close and consummate a relationship as he spends the night trying to protect her from the men who want her dead as well as get answers on just why they're after her. We see the bonds Victor is capable of forming and just how far he's willing to go once said bond is established.

!!The series provides examples of the following tropes:
* ApocalypseMaiden: Bonnie. The reason she's being hunted for death is because she has a deadly bioengineered plague inside her that will become dangerously infectious in a few days, enough that it could wipe out everyone in the entire continent!
* BeastAndBeauty: Victor is a huge beast of a man who develops a relationship with the beautiful, former prom queen, Bonnie Hale.
** Like most characters, Victor's appearance varies. In many cases, he's depicted as very handsome. But in other cases, like here, he's drawn more hideous to play up his beastly or monstrous nature.
* CuteAndPsycho: Bonnie comes off as this in story. She's introduced as an attractive former prom queen and lab tech whose closest experience to violence was a burn from a curling iron. Then Creed comes into her life, and she gets aroused by his violence, has sex with him at the soonest opportunity, and is later shown brutally killing two mooks coming after her with an ecstatic smile on her face.
* DeathWail: After killing Bonnie & recalling her words to him after their first time together, Victor breaks down & drops to his knees to wail.
* DistractedByTheSexy: Creed questions Bonnie on the soldiers, but she doesn't know anything and he threatens to gut her if she doesn't talk. She responds by kissing him, admitting she loved the fighting, and begins to undress. It doesn't take Creed long to forget his questions and take her in a night of passion.
* DisproportionateRetribution: When a man in the park cuts off Creed's phone-call with Bonnie, he responds by killing the man & stuffing him in a recycle bin.
* EvenEvilCanBeLoved: Bonnie has genuine feelings for Creed, much to his bewilderment, and wants go away with him.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Victor genuinely loves Bonnie. He is not a good guy or an anti-hero in this story. As the official synopsis says, he is a villain and brutal assassin. He just shows he's capable of love and cordial relationships despite it.
* FailureKnight: Victor spends then entire mini promising to protect Bonnie & keep her safe, but in the end he fails both & has to mercy kill her himself.
* FriendsWithBenefits: Namely Ruth, the head mistress of the brothel Creed frequents. They show a very cordial relationship despite her knowing nothing much about him and Bonnie even asks her for more information on Creed. Ruth reveals she knows some of his hobbies, likes, dislikes, and what he enjoys in bed. She also lets him stay in a prepared room in her brothel, cooks him food, and lets him have pick of any of the girls. The other brothel girls also seem very fond of Victor, greeting him excitedly when he first arrives.
* GeniusBruiser: The series does well showcasing Creed's diversity. He's every bit as brutal & savage as always, causing lots of damage. But his perceptions & intelligence shine through as well.
* InLoveWithYourCarnage: When Bonnie watches Creed fight, it excites her. She later admits how much it turned her on when she gets undressed & seduces Creed, which doesn't take much.
* InsecureLoveInterest: Victor shows this when he calls to speak to Bonnie. She asks if they can just forget everything & go away together, causing Victor to question her and asks if she really wants to be with him.
* KillTheOnesYouLove: Creed tries his best to save Bonnie & get the cure for the plague she's been infected with. But when the cure is destroyed, he ends up having to kill her before the plague activates and kills her more tortuously.
* MadScientist: The soldiers are really older scientists who implanted their minds into younger, stronger, bodies.
* MoralityPet: Bonnie for Victor.
* PetTheDog: The story is famous for being the most overt & detailed example. In the past, Victor had flashbacks & notes of loving his mother & caring for Zauber (Mystique) in Germany. But this is the first story that goes into detail about his relationship with a woman, whom he's shown to genuinely care for.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: After Creed has to kill Bonnie because of their screw-up, things get much more personal, and the deaths he delivers to Cyrill & Kalashnikov end up being the most brutal.
