Please limit associated tropes to that wrestler's time in WWE.²²When a wrestler gets either released or called up to the main roster (Raw, Smackdown, etc.), remove them from here. If the latter, also add them to the respective character pages: New Era (for male singles wrestlers), Divas, or Tag Teams. When they get an independent page, remove the tropes and put a link in to their page.²²For the wrestlers of the northamerican brand, go here.²----²²²!!Television Roster²Contains Superstars who have made their debut and currently appear regularly and primarily on NXT-UK's weekly show.²²!!!Singles Wrestlers²²²!!! Fabian Aichner²²* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Initially appeared as a participant in the Cruiserweight Classic (where the upper weight limit was 205 pounds), losing to (Gentleman) Jack Gallagher in the first round. About a year later, he makes his first NXT TV appearance and is significantly larger (now billed at about 220). The bulk gain is even commented upon during his matches.²* ForeignWrestlingHeel: It's fairly obvious WWE is going for this by throwing the Italian-born Aichner into a TagTeam with the German Marcel Barthel and sticking them both on the NXT UK brand and having the announce team keep calling them the "European Union" Keep in mind the particular history the UK has with Italy and Germany... not to mention Brexit. That said, it's being handled slightly more subtly than most instances of this trope.²* LightningBruiser: Still has some cruiserweight-type moves in his repertoire, despite now weighing at least 220 pounds and hitting like it.²* TheRedBaron: Has taken to calling himself "The NXT LVL".²* VillainTeamUp[=/=]TagTeam: With Marcel Barthel. [[spoiler: And then again with the newly-turned Walter to form the PowerStable Imperium.]]²²²²²!!! Mark Andrews²* FragileSpeedster: Categorically, he's the smallest male wrestler (in billed weight) on WWE programming as of 2019, so this is most certainly his hat.²* DoItYourselfThemeTune: His entrance music is by his band, Junior.²* Genki Guy: From the moment of his entrance, which will either pump you up or make you tired just watching. In his time away from wrestling, he plays in a PopPunk band, so it's sort of to be expected.²²²²!!! Marcel Barthel²* Catchphrase: "NEIN!" (German for "no.")²* NonIndicativeName: He's German, not French. That's his real name, too.²* VillainTeamUp[=/=]TagTeam: With Fabian Aichner. [[spoiler: And then again with the newly-turned Walter to form the PowerStable Imperium.]]²²²²!!! Joseph Connors (Joseph Buckton)²* AxCrazy: There's something... off... about Joseph Connors.²* DudeWheresMyRespect: A veteran of the UK indie scene, he hasn't yet been given a match at a Takeover event since the UK wing of NXT launched. To say this eats away at him would be a massive Understatement.²* GreenEyedMonster: Jealous of what he calls NXT UK's 'shiny new toys' (read: incoming superstars that are popular with the fans.)²²²²!!! Dave Mastiff²* Acrofatic: Despite to his size, Mastiff can actually do moonsaults a la Big Van Vader.²* ArchEnemy: Eddie Dennis.²* AssKicksYou: His finisher, a rolling cannonball to a seated opponent in the corner. 300 pounds coming at you bum-first.²* RedBaron: "Bomber"²²²²!!! Eddie Dennis ²* BadassTeacher: Was headmaster (principal) of a school before retiring from that profession to pursue his dream of being a pro wrestler.²* GreenEyedMonster: Was old friends with guys like Mark Andrews and Pete Dunne. It doesn't sit well with him that the both of them got their opportunities in WWE before he did.²²²²!!! Jordan Devlin²* Catchphrase: "Never bet against the Ace."²* CoolTeacher: Or at least had a very well-known one. He is one of several students of Irish veteran Fergal Devitt. ²* FightingIrish²* RedBaron: "The Irish Ace"²* SmugSnake: Would you expect anything less of a guy that calls himself "The Irish Ace"?²²²²!!! Kassius Ohno (Chris Spradlin)²²²²!!! Wrestling/TravisBanks (Travis Bligh)²²²²!!! Flash Morgan Webster (Gavin Watkins)²* DiscoDan: He's a Mod, a subculture that went out of fashion decades before he was born. For bonus points, the Mods were English, and Flash is Welsh.²* CatchPhrase: "In Mod we trust".²* FragileSpeedster: He's small even by standards of the Cruiserweight Division, billed at a mere 156 pounds. Predictably, as most everyone in NXT UK is by some degree larger than him, he lives on speed and agility instead of straight-up power.²* RedBaron: "The Modfather"²* TagTeam: With Mark Andrews.²²²²!!! El Ligero (Simon James Musk)²* AnimalMotif: His mask resembles the Bull.²* CoolMask: His Bull theme mask.²* FakeNationality: A MaskedLuchador billed from Mexico that's actually from England.²* MaskedLuchador²* GratuitousSpanish: His name translates as "The Light(weight)".²²²²!!! Wrestling/WALTER (Walter Hahn)²²²!!!Women's Division²²!!! Xia Brookside (Xia Henderson)²* GenkiGirl: Presented as young and especially exuberant.²* PluckyGirl: Will get her ass handed to her at times against more physically impressive and[=/=]or more experienced competition, but doesn't give up easily and will come to her next fight with the same enthusiasm, previous result be damned.²* WrestlingFamily: Daughter of Robbie Brookside, a highly respected British wrestler who currently serves as a coach at the NXT Performance Center.²* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Sometimes blue... sometimes pink. Sometimes both. Depends on the week, really.²* YourPrincessIsInAnotherCastle: Appeared to win a battle royal for the #1 contender's spot but fell for the old "missed one competitor in a battle royal that slipped between the ropes and hid for the rest of the match" and lost said battle royal and title match to Kay Lee Ray, who would later go on to beat Toni Storm for the NXT UK Women's Championship. Promos later in the year indicate this defeat still bothers her.²²²²!!! Isla Dawn (Courtney Stewart)²* CoolTeacher: Was trained by Wrestling/AleisterBlack. Which isn't really brought up much on programming, but may also explain quite a bit about her onscreen character (see DarkIsNotEvil)²* DarkIsNotEvil: Plays a "witch" character with an interest in the occult... as a face.²* HotWitch²²²²!!! Candy Floss²* Jobber: Basically exists at this point to get pounded by the more experienced ladies on the roster. She's still just a teenager and in the 'paying her dues' phase of her wrestling career, and the booking reflects that.²* PunnyName: Her name is a subtle play off 'candyfloss' - the UK term for what Americans know as "cotton candy."²* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Bright pink, resembling... well, candyfloss.²²²²!!! Jinny (Jinny Sandhú)²* ActionFashionista: Her RedBaron is "The Fashionista".²* AlphaBitch: Part of her gimmick.²* AmbiguouslyBrown: Her birth name Sandhú is Punjabi in origin (for point of reference, that's the same area of South Asia as Wrestling/TheGreatKhali hails from), although her ethnicity is never really referenced. ²* LittleGuyBigBuddy: Has made a partnership with the much bigger and stronger Jazzy Gabbert. She serves as the strategist of the two, meaning they double as BrainsAndBrawn.²* RichBitch: The other part of her gimmick.²* Sadist: When Gabert isn't interfering in matches directly, Jinny often employs her after a victory is concluded to batter[=/=]humiliate her downed opponent even further. Recent episodes, however, indicate that Gabert may be less than enthused with this role...²* TournamentArc: Competed in the 2018 Mae Young Classic, as well as the NXT UK tournament for the newly instated NXT UK Women's Championship where she made it to the semi finals, losing to Toni Storm.²²²²!!!Piper Niven (Kimberly Benson)²* Acrofatic²* BigBeautifulWoman: Renowned for her good looks as she is for her Acrofatic tendencies.²* RedBaron: She's also known as "Viper" (Wrestling/RandyOrton doesn't seem to mind).²* StoutStrength: One of the larger women on the roster and presented as one of the most physically powerful.²* TournamentArc: Competed in the first Mae Young Classic.²²²²!!! Kay Lee Ray (Kayleigh Rae)²* EvilRedhead: She has dyed red hair and is mostly a Heel.²* ManipulativeBitch: An expert at psychological warfare.²* RedBaron: The Scottish Daredevil, or the "Scary Queen of Scots"²* VillainousCheekbones: A prominent Heel know for her distinct cheekbones.²* WeUsedToBeFriends: With Wrestling/ToniStorm.²²²²!!! Rhea Ripley (Demi Bennett)²* AlliterativeName: Rhea Ripley.²* AmazonianBeauty: Tall, muscular and beautiful.²* AntiHero: Even as a face she's arrogant, bloodthirsty and creatively violent.²* CatchPhrase: Fond of saying she will 'rip' certain things/people apart. Pun Three guesses why that's a favorite word of hers.²* ChainedByFashion: Some of her ring gear, including various jackets and pants she's worn, feature small dangling metal chains. These can also be seen on her name as shown on her titantron.²* CharacterDevelopment: At first, her HeelFaceTurn didn't mean much other than that she was primarily targeting heels she didn't like. The months that followed gradually changed this, with her coming to the aid of Piper Niven against Jinny and Jazzy Gabert, taking charge of the female faces of NXT following the announcement of a women's [=WarGames=] match and forming bonds with them as a result of fighting Team Baszler, and responding to Dakota Kai's heel turn and subsequent heelish behaviour by coming to the aid of Candice [=LeRae=] during a post-match beatdown by Kai and setting Kai up for an attack by Mia Yim after learning she'd sabotaged Team Ripley before they even reached the stage by taking out Yim to weasel her way onto the team during the [=WarGames=] Pre-Show. All-around Rhea is now decisively a face, albeit still with a hard edge in the form of her pre-existing character traits.²* DawnOfAnEra: Resurfaced in the new NXT UK brand and became the brand's first-ever Women's Champion a few weeks after its launch.²* DarkIsNotEvil: Despite turning face, she still wears black leather ring gear and has a rock metal entrance music.²* DefeatingTheUndefeatable: After Shayna Bazler dominated the NXT women's locker room for two whole years and holding the NXT Women's champion for 400 days (along with a long undefeated streak), Rhea ended it at the December 18th, 2019 episode of NXT.²* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: She was a traditional Face wearing a different red gear in her debut in the first Mae Young Classic. She would debut her familiar look and attitude the following year.²* EvilWearsBlack: At least until her HeelFaceTurn.²* EvilerThanThou: Subverted. At first her conflict with Shayna Baszler looked like it would be this, but then she tacitly turned face and there went that. ²* FinishingMove: The Riptide, a pumphandle powerbomb.²* FireForgedFriends: With Wrestling/CandiceLeRae, and Mia Yim and Tegan Nox to a lesser extent, as a result of the build-up to [=TakeOver: WarGames=]. Dakota Kai would have been this if she hadn't betrayed all of them.²* GoodIsNotSoft: Her HeelFaceTurn hasn't removed her aggressive demeanor.²* HeelFaceTurn: After a consistent run as a heel at WWE, she was switched to face for her feud with Shayna Baszler.²* HellBentForLeather: Black leather ring gear really demonstrates her dark and violent moods in the ring.²* TheHero: Since moving to the main NXT roster, she has effectively become the highest ranking female face in NXT, and was positioned as being in prime position to take Shayna Baszler's NXT Women's Championship more or less from the first moment they came face to face. She now boasts the impressive accomplishments of scaring Shayna Baszler enough to make her force a disqualification during their championship match, leading the face team in NXT's first [=WarGames=] match to victory despite a two-to-four numbers disadvantage and being the leader of NXT's Women's team at Wrestling/SurvivorSeries, which she also led to victory.²* LargeAndInCharge: When she led her team during the 2019 [=WarGames=] and Wrestling/SurvivorSeries events, she visibly towers over her teammates.²* MetalScream: Her entrance theme opens with a loud "THIS IS MY BRUTALITY!" followed by shrieking.²* OutsideContextProblem: Served as this to Shayna Baszler in NXT. Most of Baszler's past opponents, on top of being smaller[=/=]not as strong as Baszler physically, had come up through the ranks in the American NXT Women's locker room and were therefore subject to several months to years of Shayna's mind games and gang beatings by the Horsewomen. These would build to matches in front of massive crowds at Takeover events, whereas she rarely fought full matches with any stakes on the Wednesday night shows, creating an atmosphere where Baszler was already in opponents' heads before matches started, giving her a psychological advantage on top of her physical dominance. Rhea had established herself in the UK first and had already won a title, and as a result wasn't remotely afraid of Shayna. ² She was also one of the first superstars (except possibly Bianca Belair) who was Baszler's physical equal, perhaps even superior. Their match ended up being on the last live weekly show of the year (as the following Wednesday fell on Christmas). Baszler found herself somewhat on the back foot because of this combination of factors and eventually ended up losing her championship.²* ReformedButNotTamed: She's as brash and aggressive as she was when she was a Heel after turning Face.²* StatuesqueStunner: An AmazonianBeauty standing at 5'9.²* TournamentArc: Competed in the first two Mae Young Classics, and then won the 2018 NXT UK tournament for the newly instated NXT UK Women's Championship.²* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: When Rhea chose Mia Yim as the final member of her [=WarGames=] team, she also used the wrong words to Dakota Kai, telling her that "she didn't make the cut". She didn't mean anything by it, but given that Dakota was already having a terrible night, including failing to prove herself and being defeated by Shayna Baszler for the fourth time, Rhea accidentally laid the groundwork for Dakota's FaceHeelTurn.²* UrExample: The inaugural NXT UK Women's Champion. She also led the victorious team in the first ever female [=WarGames=] match. ²** As of her 2019 defeat of Shayna Baszler, she is the first competitor in WWE to hold a singles title on NXT brands in multiple countriesNot counting Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne, who both held the United Kingdom championship and occasionally defended it on NXT before the NXT UK show officially started, as she has held both the American and United Kingdom NXT Women's Championships.²²²²!!! Wrestling/ToniStorm (Toni Rossall)²²²!!!Tag Teams and Stables²²²!!! Wrestling/BritishStrongStyle²²!!! Trent Seven (Benjamin Webb)²²!!! Pete Dunne (Peter England)²²!!! Tyler Bate²²²²!!! As a stable²* ArchEnemy: They've been picking fights with everyone but their most natural rival out of the gate seems to be Wrestling/BritishStrongStyle.²* BadassArmFold: Their signature pose.²* BeardOfEvil: Wolfgang and Joe in particular have impressive ones.²* FreudianTrio: Mark as the tactical technician that reins in Wolfgang and occasionally Joe when necessary (Superego). Wolfgang is the biggest and most powerful and also most prone to be easily set off and hit anything that moves (Id). Joe is the chief decision-maker, mouthpiece, and in terms of personality strikes a balance between the two (Ego).²* MeaningfulName: "Gallus" is a Scottish slang word for "daring"[=/=]"confident".²* PowerTrio²* ViolentGlaswegian: A trio of brutal Scots all born in Glasgow.²²!!! Joe Coffey²* BashBrothers: With RealLife brother Mark. ²* RedBaron: "The Iron King"²²!!! Mark Coffey²* BashBrothers: With RealLife brother Joe.²* RedOniBlueOni: The measured, calm blue to Wolfgang's passionate, fiery red.²²!!! Wolfgang (Barry Young)²* Acrofatic: He's firmly a heavyweight (billed at 255) and has a bit of a gut under that singlet. Doesn't stop him from busting out the occasional moonsault - even off the second turnbuckle or barricade (less height than the traditional top-rope variant.)²* HairTriggerTemper: More prone than the others to UnstoppableRage and bloodlust; Mark often takes it upon himself to keep "Wolfie" on task when the two work together.²* PowerStable: Gallus, in NXT UK.²* RedBaron: "The Last King of Scotland"²* RedOniBlueOni: The fiery red to Mark Coffey's calmer blue.²* ViolentGlaswegian: He was born in Glasgow, and he is quite a violent competitor.²²²²!!!As a Team²* BeardOfEvil: Both Gibson and Drake in particular have impressive ones.²* UrExample: The inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions²²!!! Wrestling/ZackGibson²²!!! James Drake²* TheQuietOne: Defers most of the promo work to Zack Gibson, who happens to be a nuclear heat magnet.²²²²!!!As a Team²* AlternateCompanyEquivalent: ²** NXT UK's answer to the American NXT's The Undisputed Era. ²** Also seems to be the WWE's equivalent to wXw's Ringkampf, and even features some overlap between the members (WALTER and Marcel Barthel were part of both stables.) Them using "The mat is sacred" as a motto (a traslation of Ringkampf's famous motto "Die Matte ist heilig") makes it clear that it's basically supposed to be Ringkampf under a different name.²* ArcWords: The stable imported Ringkampf's "The ring/mat is sacred."²* ArchEnemy: Have basically been feuding against Wrestling/BritishStrongStyle since their formation. Walter has defended his NXT UK title against all three members.²* FourIsDeath: After Alexander Wolfe shockingly aligned with them. This sets them apart from other stables in NXT UK (and there are a couple of them), which are of the three-man variety.²* MultinationalTeam: Of non-UK Europeans; WALTER from Austria, Germans Barthel and Wolfe, and the Italian Aichner.²* MythologyGag: Those well-versed in the pre-WWE careers of the wrestlers in question might remember that British Strong Style and Imperium's previous 'incarnation', Ringkampf, had a longstanding stable rivalry before everyone came over to NXT UK.²* ReverseArmFold: Their signature pose.²²²!!! Wrestling/WALTER (Walter Hahn)²²!!! Fabian Aichner²²!!! Marcel Barthel²²!!! Alexander Wolfe²²²²²!!! As A Team²* BadassBeard: Both have long, shaggy ones²* Wild Man: Their gimmick as a pair of bestial barbarians.²²!!! "Primate" Jay Melrose²!!! "Wild Boar" Mike Hitchman²²²²!!NXT House Show talent²Contains Superstars who have yet to become full-time members of either NXT television roster and primarily work house shows. If they do show up on-screen it is mainly as a jobber or for short storylines.²²²!! Ilja Dragunov²* MeaningfulName: Named for the well-known Dragunov sniper rifle.²* MotherRussiaMakesYouStrong²* PintSizedPowerhouse: Hits way harder than his 187-pound billed weight would indicate.²* RedEyesTakeWarning: (Presumably) through the use of contact lenses, his irises are outlined in bright red.²²!! Oliver Sauter²²²²!! Jazzy Gabert²* TheBrute: Quite tall and imposing and wrestles a power style. Recently aligned herself as Jinny's enforcer.²²²²Contains wrestlers who are not officially under WWE contract but make frequent TV appearances, typically to put over the contracted talent. NXT's usage of outside talent has ramped up in recent years, due to partnerships with EVOLVE, ICW and Wrestling/ProgressWrestling, as well as the Wrestling/WWECruiserweightClassic and Mae Young Classic.²²----
