The all-time fan-favourite and main contender for the Tournament, composed of the best athletes and soldiers of their generation. During Malcolm's nine-time reign, former Iron Guard members Brock and Lauren joined forces with the team, however after Gorge defeated Malcolm and broke his spine, the original team returned for the ''2004'' Tournament.
----
!! In general
* ActionGirl: Aryss, Azure, Annaka/Annika and Tamika.
* BadassCrew: '''THE''' BadassCrew of the series.
* TheBusCameBack: After Malcolm's stint with Brock and Lauren came to an end, Malcolm reformed the team for ''2004''.
* CharacterTiers: [[invoked]] Thunder Crash is located in the Godlike tier in ''2004''. If they're the best-ranked team at the end of the Team ladders, the player and his team fight against them.
* EliteArmy: Outside of combat, they're the elite squad of the N.E.G., as described in ''2004''[='=]s AS-Glacier.
* GogglesDoNothing: Ryanna is seen with a pair of goggles.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Annaka in ''Tournament'', Annika in ''2004''.
* TomboyishPonytail: By way of sharing (Marine) the same model class (Female Soldier) as the Iron Guard (Soldier), Metal Guard, Venom and The Corrupt (War Machine) females, this is true for all the four females of the team in ''Tournament''.
%%** Azure favors the Bio Rifle.
%%** Jakob favors the Shock Rifle.
%%** Othello favors the Flak Cannon.
%%** Tamika and Riker favor the Rocket Launcher.
%%** Annika favors the [[SniperRifle Lightning Gun]].

The closest thing the ''VideoGame/{{Unreal}}'' franchise has to a main character.

As [=FenTech=]'s finest creation, Malcolm is an artificially boosted Tournament warrior. He was the winner of nine Liandri Grand Tournaments from 2293 to 2301. In the tournament of the year 2302 (''Unreal Tournament 2003''), he joined forces with his former enemies Brock and Lauren, of the Iron Guard team. The team managed to go to the finals, where they met the Juggernaut team, led by Gorge. Gorge's team won the Tournament, with Gorge breaking both Malcolm's winning spree [[GameBreakingInjury and his spine]].

After these Tournaments, he broke up with Brock and Lauren, who returned to lead the Iron Guard team. Malcolm went back to the Thunder Crash team as well. Both teams participated in the 2303 tournament (''VideoGame/UnrealTournament2004'') but it's unknown which team won that Tournament.

In the off-season (''VideoGame/UnrealTournamentIII''), he's hired by the Izanagi Corporation as the commander of their security forces. He's in charge of the Ronin team, advising them between their missions.

In the 2304 Tournament (''VideoGame/UnrealChampionship2TheLiandriConflict''), he was featured as a CombatCommentator, alongside Liandri's robot commentator, for the [[AsskickingLeadsToLeadership Ascension Rites]], due to the spinal injury caused by Gorge at the end of the 2302 Tournament.

Set to come back in the Videogame/UnrealTournament4 reboot as a playable character.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: Has his own ladder in ''Unreal Championship 2''.
* AdvertisedExtra: Present in all kinds of promotional material for ''Unreal Tournament III'', got relegated to a non-playable cameo role in the full game.
* AscendedExtra: Though there were some hints in VideoGame/UnrealTournament, such as Thunder Crash being the default team, and him being the default face, for the ladder, there he was just a selectable skin. Then came ''Unreal Tournament 2003'' and it was revealed that he was the 9-time champion of the Tournament. He went on to be [[SeriesMascot the franchise's main face]].
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: As shown above, he wouldn't have been contracted by Izanagi or Liandri if he wasn't famous for being the biggest Tournament champion of the story.
* AttackDrone: His "Sentinel" adrenaline combo in ''Unreal Championship 2'' activates allies that fire upon nearby enemies.
* BaldOfAuthority: Though that hat always accompanied him. He's the leader of [[BadassCrew Thunder Crash]], [[VideoGame/UnrealTournamentIII A.K.A. "Thunder Cash"]].
* BossTease: The opening cutscene of the single-player ladder in ''2004'' features him taking down some competitors with a pair of Assault Rifles. You fight Thunder Crash without him at the end of each team ladder, and if Thunder Crash is the best-ranked of the Godlike-tier teams, Malcolm is the FinalBoss.
* BreakoutCharacter: From being just a playable character with a barebones story in ''Tournament'' to a final boss and leader in ''2003/2004'' to an important character in ''Championship 2'' to a main storyline (which was meant to be playable) in ''III''. How much of this was because he was the first face the player could choose back in the first ''Tournament'' is left to anyone's guess.
* TheCameo:
** Appears in the intro of ''Championship'' despite not having any playable role there.
** Appears in ''VideoGame/{{Fortnite}}'' as a survivor of the "Save the World" mode.
* CombatCommentator: In ''[=UC2=]'' he's a color commentator for the televised Ascension Rites, even getting to interview a Skaarj before his match.
* CoolShades: In every game except ''III''.
* CutscenePowerToTheMax: In ''2004'', the Assault Rifle was the weakest weapon of the entire roster. Malcolm dispatches some goons easily with a pair of them.
* DeadpanSnarker: He has a few snarky moments in Unreal Championship II:
-->'''Robot Announcer:''' [[BlatantLies -all the semi-final matchups are completely random]].\
''([[GilliganCut Cut to the first semi-final matchup between]] [[TheHero Anubis]], and [[TheRival Apophis]] ([[DontExplainTheJoke i.e. the guy who wanted to kill Anubis the most]]))''\
'''Malcolm:''' [[SarcasmMode Yeah. "Random."]]
* DefeatMeansPlayable: In ''2003'' and ''2004'' you must defeat him at the end of the ladder. In ''2004'', Thunder Crash must be the best-ranked team of all Godlike teams to get to fight him.
* FinalBoss:
** In ''2003'', after the player defeats a team of him, Brock and Lauren.
** In ''2004'', only if Thunder Crash is the best-ranked Godlike team after the gametype ladders.
** In ''Championship 2'' he's the final boss of Gorge's ladder. And the inverse is also true. Also, he and Lauren are the final opponents in Sapphire's ladder.
* TheGlassesComeOff: In the intro movie for ''2003''.
* HealThyself: His "Heal" adrenaline combo in ''Unreal Championship 2''.
* JackOfAllStats: Out of the three bosses, he's halfway between [=ClanLord=]'s AttackAttackAttack and Xan's CrazyPrepared attitudes.
* LegendaryInTheSequel: In ''Tournament'' he was just another combatant with a generic backstory. In ''2003'', he became the nine-time champion and a highly decorated Tournament warrior.
* LivingLegend: Malcolm is acknowledged as such in all the games he participated in after ''Tournament'': in 2003 he's credited as the man who dethroned Xan Kriegor; in ''2004'' his team is placed in the Godlike tier of potential final bosses, in ''Championship 2'' he became a color commentator, as well as a businessman for Liandri, and in ''III'' Reaper, meets him listing his achievements:
-->'''Malcolm''': ''Sounds like you know my rep.''\
'''Reaper''': ''Yeah, who doesn't? Most grand tournament trophies, ever. Leader of Thunder Crash, AKA [[InGameNickname Thunder Cash]]...''\
'''Malcolm''': ''Aight. I get it.''\
'''Reaper''': ''...all of which makes you a highly decorated... civilian.''
* MissileLockOn: His "Homing" adrenaline combo in ''Unreal Championship 2'' makes his projectiles home on his enemies.
* TheMole: Considering his actions in [[spoiler:''Unreal Championship 2'' and ''Unreal Tournament III'']].
* MoreThanMeetsTheEye: He appears to be a heroic character. [[spoiler:He isn't]].
* PromotedToPlayable: Inverted; Though he's important to the storyline of ''III'', he can't be chosen as playable.
* TheRival: Gorge, after ''Unreal Tournament 2003''.
* ScaryBlackMan
* SecretCharacter: In ''2003'', ''2004'' and ''[=UC2=]''. In the first two DefeatMeansPlayable, in the latter, the player must have played at least one online match in each gametype.
* SoulBrotha: He's of African descent and, in ''Unreal Tournament III'', he has also [[UsefulNotes/AmericanAccents the urban accent]]. However, most of the other factors are averted with him.
* SpellMyNameWithanS: The first ''Tournament'' game spelt his name as "Malcom".
* {{Transhuman}}: It is ambiguous if Malcolm is a [[DesignerBabies Designer Baby]] or enhanced beforehand (Being called [=FenTech=]'s "Greatest Creation" may be an implication of the former) but he's been given a few modifications that have made him into the renown warrior he is:
->'''Character Description from Unreal Tournament 1:''' ''[=FenTech=]'s finest creation, Malcom is an engineered warrior enhanced by chemicals. Adrenaline stimulants, synaptic catalysts, and impulse regulators combine to create a superhuman killing machine.''
* TreacherousAdvisor: [[spoiler:To the Ronin team in ''III'']].
* WolverinePublicity: Expect to find him in any Unreal game, even as a cameo character. Well... starting from ''Unreal Tournament 2003'', at least.

A team composed of former bodyguards for notorious weapon smuggler Jihan Nyhn. Only two members are repeated in each iteration: Brock and Lauren. The team went into a hiatus during Malcolm's nine-time champion reign. After Malcolm's defeat at the hands of Gorge and the breakup, Brock and Lauren reformed the team bringing in new members. During the off-time Brock enraged Gorge and the latter killed him. After the events of ''III'', Lauren was struck with grief and committed suicide. Both Brock and Lauren were revived by the Phayder Corporation and by the time of ''Unreal Championship 2'', Lauren was back in Thunder Crash.

!! In general
* ActionGirl: Lauren is joined by Rylisa, Sara and Shyann in ''Tournament''; Mystique, Satin and Prism in ''2004'' and Ariel in ''III''.
* AscendedExtra: Karag was a customizable bot in ''Tournament'', but became playable in the ''ECE'' version of ''2004'' and in ''III''.
* BadassCrew: Composed of former bodyguards for a weapon smuggler. They usually play second-fiddle to Thunder Crash, but they're still badass, nonetheless.
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: Sara, Shyann and Lauren/Rylisa.
* TheBusCameBack: Returned heavily modified for ''2004''. Johnson and Harlin came back for ''III''.
* CharacterTiers: [[invoked]] Located in the Strong tier in ''2004''.
* DemotedToExtra:
** Zig-zagged: Playable in ''Tournament'', an Iron Guard InNameOnly team appears in ''2003'' (Brock and Lauren are part of Thunder Crash albeit with their Iron Guard outfits), playable again though only with Brock and Lauren as original members in ''2004'', absent in ''Championship 2'' (due to Lauren and Brock's deaths) and playable once again in ''III''.
** Kregore went from playable in ''Tournament'', to absent in ''2003'' and ''2004'' to bot in ''III''.
** Karag went from playable in the ''ECE'' version of ''2004'' to bot in ''III''.
** Wraith went from playable in ''2003'' and ''2004'' to bot in ''III''.
* SecretCharacter:
** The "jihan" cheat code unlocks Ariel in ''III''.
** INI edition enables Johnson as a playable character in ''III''.
* SixthRanger: Defeating them and ''not'' accepting their surrender in Act II of ''III'' gives you a card that calls two Iron Guard members.
* StarterVillain:
** Of a sort in ''Tournament''. They're the team the player's team faces in the Tutorial levels. They're still fought as regular rival teams in later team rungs, though.
** In ''III'', they're the first enemy team Ronin faces off against. You defeat them near the end and are given two choices: accept their surrender (unlocks Lauren and grants the Enhanced Respawners card after a match) or don't (which instead gives you the [[SixthRanger "Iron Guard Reinforcements"]] card).
* TomboyishPonytail: By way of sharing (Soldier) the same model class (Female Soldier) as the Thunder Crash (Marine), Metal Guard, Venom and The Corrupt (War Machine) females, this is true for all the four females of the team in ''Tournament''.
%% ''2004'' only:
%%** Remus favors the Bio Rifle.
%%** Satin favors the Shock Rifle.
%%** Prism favors the Link Gun.

[[quoteright:165:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Brock_9778.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:165:[[TheCasanova A ladies' gentleman.]]]]

-> '''Appearances:''' ''VideoGame/UnrealTournament'', ''Unreal Tournament 2003'', ''VideoGame/UnrealTournament2004'', ''VideoGame/UnrealChampionship2TheLiandriConflict''

Malcolm's most trusted ally, he led the Iron Guard team alongside his girlfriend Lauren. He's defined as both a [[TheCasanova ladies man]] and a [[HotBlooded hothead]] with shades of BadassBookworm. It's rumoured that he [[DeceptiveDisciple killed his mentor]], but that his father [[ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney bribed the authorities]].

He was hired, alongside the original Iron Guard team, by the illegal weapons seller Jihan Nyhn, as their bodyguards. Nyhn had plenty of arenas which the team used for their training. After Nyhn's death, the team found a way to vent their bloodlust in the Tournament.

Brock and Lauren joined forces with then-champion Malcolm for the 2302 tournament (''Unreal Tournament 2003'') but lost the final match against Gorge and his band of Juggernauts. Infighting and recrimination made the team split-up, with Brock and Lauren returning to lead a reformed Iron Guard. It is unknown if the team succeeded in that Tournament.

In the off-season, (''VideoGame/UnrealTournamentIII''[[note]]although this was never referred to as in any section of this game, it was mentioned in ''VideoGame/UnrealChampionship2TheLiandriConflict''[[/note]]) he tried to ambush Gorge because of Malcolm's dethroning. Gorge easily killed him, and Lauren committed suicide shortly after. Both were brought back by both Liandri and Phayder corporations via the expensive Necrification process. Brock lost all of his memories, thus making him a remorseless killing machine.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: Has his own ladder in ''Unreal Championship 2''.
* AlienBlood: As a Necris, he has nanoblood.
* AscendedExtra: Same deal as with Malcolm. However, he was part of his team.
* BackFromTheDead / WasOnceAMan: As Necris in ''Unreal Championship 2''. He even gains many of the Nightamre's taunts.
--> ''"Thank you, Necris process."''
--> ''"Life is pain -- get over it!"''
--> ''"I'll be back, again and again."''
* BadassBookworm: Outright stated in his bio in ''2003'' and ''2004''.
* BreakoutCharacter: Same deal as Malcolm: a playable character with barebones story in ''Tournament'', final sub-boss in ''2003'', leader of his team in ''2004''.
* TheCameo: Appears in the intro of ''Championship'' despite not having any playable role there.
* TheCasanova: Said to be a ladies' man in his ''Tournament'' bio.
* CurbStompBattle: His official bio for ''Unreal Championship 2'' states that he tried to ambush Gorge after he dethroned Malcolm. Needless to say, Gorge killed him in a matter of minutes.
* DeceptiveDisciple
* DemotedToExtra: After ''2003'' he led the mid-tier Iron Guard team in ''2004'' and was playable in ''Championship 2'' as an undead, though without any kind of storyline importance (at least in the Ascension Rites; he gets his own ladder, though). ''III'' doesn't feature him in any form.
* FinalBoss: Of Lauren's ladder in ''Championship 2''.
* OfficialCouple: With Lauren.
* OurGhostsAreDifferent: His "Wraith" adrenaline combo in ''Unreal Championship 2'' turns him into a ghost with XRayVision which allows him to see enemies through the walls.
* PowerNullifier: His "Fear" adrenaline combo in ''Unreal Championship 2'' stops the enemy from using adrenaline combos.
* RetCon: His relationship with Lauren.
* SecretCharacter / PromotedToPlayable: In ''2003'' and ''[=UC2=]''. In the latter, you must complete Lauren's ladder to unlock him.
** DefeatMeansPlayable: In ''2003''.
* VampiricDraining: His "Vampire" adrenaline combo in ''Unreal Championship 2'' regenerates his health by damaging his enemies.
* YourMindMakesItReal: His "Ethereal" adrenaline combo in ''Unreal Championship 2'' makes him be seen slightly out of position.

Another of Malcolm's most trusted allies, and a former Tournament champion, she leads the Iron Guard team alongside her boyfriend Brock. In her beginnings, she was the daughter of a family of poor asteroid miners. She became famous when she murdered their parents' competition, which made her the ideal candidate for the Tournament.

She was hired, alongside the original Iron Guard team, by the illegal weapons seller Jihan Nyhn, as their bodyguards. (Her ''Unreal Tournament'' backstory says that she was rumoured to be Nyhn's lover) Nyhn had plenty of arenas which the team used for their training. After Nyhn's death, the team found in the Tournaments their way of venting their bloodlust.

Brock and Lauren (now an OfficialCouple) joined forces with Malcolm for the 2302 tournament (''Unreal Tournament 2003'') but lost the final match against Gorge and his band of Juggernauts. Infighting and recrimination made the team split-up, with Brock and Lauren returning to lead a reformed Iron Guard. (''VideoGame/UnrealTournament2004'') It is unknown if the team succeeded in that Tournament.

In the off-season, (''Unreal Tournament III'') she's seen leading the Axon security forces in Taryd. After the Ronin team defeats them, Lauren joins the Ronin team for the remaining events.

Before the 2304 Tournament, (''Unreal Championship 2'') her boyfriend Brock was killed by Gorge, driving her to suicide. Both of them were brought back by both Liandri and Phayder corporations via the expensive Necrification process. Although Lauren recovered some of her memories, she's now only marginally sane.
----
* ActionGirl: She was part of the team led by Malcolm in ''[=2003=]'' and is the leader of Iron Guard, being also a Tournament champion.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Has her own ladder in ''Unreal Championship 2''.
* AlienBlood: As a Necris, she has nanoblood.
* AscendedExtra: Same deal as with Malcolm. However, she was part of his team.
* BreakoutCharacter: Same deal as with Malcolm and Brock: barebones story and playable in ''Tournament'', sub-boss in ''2003'', co-leader of Iron Guard with Brock in ''2004'', leader of the Iron Guard faction (and unlockable) in ''III'' and playable with storyline influence in ''Championship 2''.
* TheCameo: Appears in the intro of ''Championship'' despite not having any playable role there.
* DrivenToSuicide: In ''Unreal Championship 2'', after losing her boyfriend, but...
** BackFromTheDead, CameBackWrong: Through the Necrification process.
* FinalBoss: Of Raptor's ladder. Also of Sapphire's ladder, alongside Malcolm.
* OfficialCouple: With Brock.
* OurGhostsAreDifferent: Her "Wraith" adrenaline combo in ''Unreal Championship 2'' turns her into a ghost with XRayVision which allows her to see enemies through the walls.
* RetCon: In her bio in the first game, she was said to be the lover of the infamous weapon seller Jihan Nyhn. A tournament game later, those were turned into rumours, and her relationship was instead with her "school sweetheart" Brock.
* SecretCharacter:
** In ''2003'', you need to win the finals.
** In ''III'', you need to win the DM-Diesel mission (as in, accepting the surrender from Iron Guard) in ''Act II: With Caesar's Coin''.
* SlipknotPonytail: Cut after ''Unreal Tournament 2004''.
* TrashTalk:
** In ''[=UC2=]'':
--> ''"Your warm blood makes you slow, Anubis!"''
** In ''III'':
--> ''"How do I look?"''
--> ''"Life is pain, get over it!"''
* VampiricDraining: Her "Siphon" adrenaline combo in ''Unreal Championship 2'' summons a cloud that drains other players' health. Her "Vampire" adrenaline combo also regenerates her health by damaging her enemies.
* YourMindMakesItReal: Her "Ethereal" adrenaline combo in ''Unreal Championship 2'' makes her be seen slightly out of position.

* AxCrazy: Malise is said to be the embodiment of, well, malice. She needs Necroth's assistance in order not to become crazy.
* BadassCrew: Composed of assassins, though it wasn't until ''Championship 2'' and ''III'' that another factor was added to their badassery: a BC of ''[[TheUndead undead]]'' assassins. Their motto, according to ''Championship 2'', is "no one kills like the dead".
* TheBusCameBack:
** Kragoth reappears as playable character in the ''ECE'' edition of ''2004''.
** ''Championship 2'' officially adds former Iron Guard members Brock and Lauren onto their team (as mentioned in the ladders), as well as new members Calypso and Judas. The latter only becomes playable in the DLC.
** The team comes back for good under Akasha's leadership in ''III''.
** ''4'' has two Necris characters in Samael and Visse.
* TheCameo: The "Other matches" tab in ''2004'' can feature them as "Necris Black Legion", since there's already a "Black Legion" team fighting in the Tournament[[note]] To differentiate them, the 2004 Black Legion team is called "Nightmare Black Legion"[[/note]].
* CleavageWindow: All of them feature one in ''Tournament''.
* DarkActionGirl: Cryss, Freylis, Visse and Malise in ''Tournament'', Akasha, Alanna, Freylis, Malise, Raven and Visse in ''III''.
* DemotedToExtra:
** The whole team makes a cameo appearance in ''2004''[='=]s "Other matches" tab.
** Zig-zagged with Visse: playable in ''Tournament'', absent in ''2004'', bot in ''III'', playable in ''4''.
** Freylis went from playable in ''Tournament'' to absent in ''2004'' and bot in ''III'' and ''4''.
** Judas went from being playable in ''Cham´pionship 2'' via DLC to bot in ''III'' and ''4''.
** Kragoth went from playable in ''Tournament'', ''2004'' and ''III'' to bot in ''4''.
* DownloadableContent: Calypso and Judas in ''Championship 2''.
* FacelessGoons: Malakai in ''III''. Many of the generic Necris soldiers seen in the cutscenes are also this.
* InSeriesNickname: Kragoth's bio states he's known as the "Star Slayer", after having [[OneManArmy singlehandedly killed the entire crew of a star cruiser]].
* RetCon: An [[HumanAliens alien race]] in ''Tournament'', TheUndead in ''Championship 2'' and ''III''.
* SecretCharacter:
** The [=PlayStation=] 2 version of ''Tournament'' features Kragoth and Freylis as unlockable characters.
** ''[=UT3=]'' features many examples:
*** The cheat code "phayder" unlocks Alanna.
*** Loque is unlocked after winning the [=DM-HeatRay=] mission in [[GuideDangIt certain routes]] of ''Act III: The Liandri Conflict''.
*** Kragoth and Malakai are unlocked after winning the WAR-Islander_Necris mission at the beginning of ''Act IV: Calculated Losses''.
* SilverFox: Kragoth is 127 years old, and the ''2004 ECE'' Necris look less menacing than their ''Tournament'' (or ''[=UT3=]'') counterparts.
* SpikesOfVillainy: The [=PS2=] version of ''Tournament'' has redesigned Necris featuring these.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: The female Necris wear a quite revealing outfit.
* TheUndead: It wasn't clear exactly what the Necris were until ''Championship 2'' and ''III'' told that the race was formed of humans revived using Phayder's expensive necrification process.

Loque is a suspected Phayder captured snooping around the Io Directorship buildings. The Phayder have become more active as of late and are believed to be responsible for at least 6 tac-nuke bombings against NEG installations in the past month.

Loque is Phayder Master for the Necris Black Legion, a Dark Chaplain, responsible for maintaining the morale of the group.

Originally a customizable practice-session bot and a Deathmatch ladder opponent, Loque is a Phayder assassin who was put in the Tournament after the NEG captured him, under suspicion of planting 6 tactical nuclear bombs.

He returns in Unreal Tournament III, leading the Necris army that invaded Taryd, and is the first Necris opponent the player fights against (in Act III: The Liandri Conflict) if the right choices are made.

* DemotedToExtra: Playable in ''III'', bot in ''4''.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Contributed to his infamous reputation and status as a breakout character. While the ladder version of him wasn't much to speak of compared to the other fighters in the same match, both as a default practice session customizable character and then in his ''[=UT3=]'' appearance, his accuracy is set at maximum, meaning that any shot he fires, at least with hitscan weapons (highly likely since his favourite weapon is set to be the SniperRifle), '''will''' hit.

A former rebelling KillerRobot, Xan was created in the LBX-7683 asteroid and was put in stasis lock after leading the [[ZerothLawRebellion robot uprising]] in said asteroid. Xan was also a 9-time Tournament champion. The first 7 tournaments weren't officially counted, as the event was still underground at the time. However, he won an eighth time in the first official Tournament in 2291. (''Unreal Tournament'') Malcolm dethroned him in the 2293 tournament.

He was rebuilt twice, first as Xan MKII (for one of the bonus packs and the console versions of the first ''Tournament'') and then as MKIII. He was seen leading his team, "The Corrupt", in this suit in ''Unreal Tournament 2004''. The status of him and his team after that Tournament is unknown.

* DefeatMeansPlayable:
** Beating the ''Tournament'' ladder unlocks him as a playable character.
** Beating the ''2004'' by defeating him unlocks him as a playable character. To fight him and his team, The Corrupt must be the best-ranked of all Godlike teams on the ladder.
* FinalBoss: Of ''Tournament'' and ''2004'', the latter only if The Corrupt is the best-ranked Godlike team after finishing the gametype ladders.
* HomeStage:
** He's the owner of the Hyperblast ship, where the final fight of ''Tournament'' takes place.
** In ''2004'' Hyperblast makes a return, but to fight Xan on it, The Corrupt must be the best-ranked of the Godlike-tier teams.
* RedHerring: The original UT bio for him said that of the many rumors about his identity, the most popular was that he was secretly the chairman of Liandri, pouring tournament profits into funding the construction and improvement of a suit of PoweredArmor to maintain his status as tournament champion.
* RetCon: He bleeds red in UT, suggesting he is a human in PoweredArmor or possibly a HollywoodCyborg. In ''2004'', he bleeds purple and is counted as a robot for mutators.
* RubberBandAI: The better you do in the final fight with him, the more aggressive he becomes. Considering that, in an FPS, [[TheComputerIsACheatingBastard the computer has the ultimate advantage]], this can make things very difficult.
