->''I will not be ruled. I make my own rules. That is the mindset of a ruler.''
\
The genius son of Khun Edahn, a noble Great Family leader who first climbed the Tower alongside King Jahad. Khun Aguero Agnes (Khun for short) is a member of the Great Khun Family's exiled Agnes branch, who had been tossed out due to their side not coming out with a potential Jahad Princess. In actuality, Khun had bent the events to his own desire by making sure that his kind half-sister, Khun Maria, got picked as the Jahad Princess over his actual Agnes sister. Despite being exiled, Khun's overall goal is to one day replace Khun Edahn as the new Great Family leader. Some time after, Khun gets summoned into the Tower.\

In Season 1, Khun meets Bam during the 2nd Floor's first test, and deems him interesting enough to accompany and aid him while they climb the Tower. Rak also takes an interest, which eventually results in the three of them becoming true companions.\

Season 2 has Khun form his own team away from the rest of the 2nd Floor graduation group in order to continue Bam's desire by helping the injured Rachel climb the Tower. After the team falls apart, he joins with Sweet and Sour to win the Workshop Battle and help Bam break away from FUG. Following the Workshop Battle, Khun reunites with Bam and Rak as the three of them work to board and traverse the Hell Train.\

Season 3 has Khun newly awakened from his coma, and intent on supporting Bam on his goal of saving Jinsung Ha.
----
* AbusiveParents: Khun's mother drove him to excel and be as ruthless and manipulative as she was. Until he'd had enough and used everything he'd learned to run away from home and 'borrow' a lot of expensive items from his father on his way out.
* AdventurerOutfit: After the TimeSkip, Khun sports one of these, reminiscent of a boy scout. It also comes with a FedoraOfAsskicking.
* AntiHero: He is extremely ruthless at times and could almost be considered a villain were it not for his strong loyalty to his teammates, especially Bam and Rak.
* BagOfHolding: Manbarondenna, his bag he stole from his father. It can hold large amounts of items like his knives and swords and even suck up enemies. It can even make copies of objects placed inside, with the exception of materials from the 2nd Floor.
%%* BatmanGambit: He is a master at this.
* BadassBookworm: Don't let his small frame and Light Bearer status deceive you, this guy knows how to fight.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Towards Bam. Rachel asks him to lie to Bam about her identity, and he does so, but to keep him away from her and protect him from the possibility of her betraying him. He spends years trying to get revenge on [[spoiler: Rachel]], believing her to have killed Bam.
* BladeEnthusiast: His weapon, storing countless knives inside his suitcase. He later gains the White Heavenly Mirror, a magical knife that can seal targets inside of it.
* BreakTheHaughty: Khun has a very big ego, his cockiness and overconfidence brimming from his first appearances. He picks fights with the very rules of the tower and looks down on those who conform to it, going as far as to toy with them. However, he later learns that both the tower and the people in it are not to be underestimated. And he learns this lesson harshly.
** In the anime, the 3rd test of the Tower, the Door test, caused him to have a full-on meltdown. The Door test had decievingly simple instructions, requiring participants to open the “correct” door within 5 minutes with little to no hints. Hansung Yu, the test administrator, also directly meddled with Khun. In the anime, he sent someone out to provoke Khun and bring up his DarkAndTroubledPast to put more pressure on the boy. Upon being reminded of how he was betrayed, Khun couldn’t bring himself to trust the simple instructions and opted to overthink them to the point of mental distress.
*** In the manhwa, Hansung Yu sent someone out to simply give hints to all the regulars. Khun’s meltdown wasn’t a meltdown at all, and while the text bubbles for his thoughts became more scattered and chaotic, his expression stayed relatively stable the entire time.
** When Rachel was on the cusp of being disqualified for the tests due to her injuries, he thought of a way to give her a chance. He brings up the Administrator’s test, and manages to build a way for Bam to bring Rachel with him as they go up the Tower. Unfortunately, this very test would later become Bam’s seeming demise, leaving Khun with a heavy sense of guilt and helplessness.
* CatchPhrase: In the early series, it was "Trust trustworthy people." He never means himself.
* CombatPragmatist: Just because he is a Light Bearer, don't assume he is useless in close combat. He proves this with his knife-play against other Regulars during the Crown Game. He defeated [[NoodleIncident Chang Blarode]] at some point in the past, and easily disposed of Sia Sia's assassin, in close combat. He also fights [[spoiler: [[EverythingsBetterWithSamurai sword-master Hatz]]]] to a draw.
* ConscienceMakesYouGoBack: He chooses Bam in his second test because he "ended up caring again". Good for him, their friendship is something to behold.
* CruelToBeKind: His response when Akraptor accuses him of [[TookALevelInJerkass being suddenly mean]], seeing that unlike Bam, he wants Rachel dead.
* DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife: Why he decided to follow, and later stay with, Bam.
--> "If something comes up where I have to put my life on the line to go with it, what meaning would the rest of my life have if I were to miss that? Right now I feel like...the end of the world will come if Bam isn't here."
* {{Deuteragonist}}: The story focuses heavily on Bam, however when it isn't the perspective usually shifts to Khun's.
* DidYouActuallyBelieve: His recruitment of Edin plays with this. He first tells him he shouldn't have believed what he told him when he said everybody present was hired by him and it was just a lie to make him act in a certain way. After that, Edin gets away from Khun and ambushed by the barkeeper. Khun shows up again and says that Edin trusted him too easily again.
* FightUnscene: He had a fight with Blarode at some point during the timeskip, which resulted in the latter losing his eye.
* FlashStep: Shown using it during The Crown Game using shinsu enhancement of his limbs.
* FlechetteStorm: Khun can send countless knives flying at enemies out from his [[BagOfHolding Manbarondenna]].
* FragileSpeedster: Subverted: he is much stronger than he appears on account of being descended from one of the Ten Families, and can hold his own in close combat against other Regulars of a similar rank.
* GuileHero: He is extremely skilled at manipulating others. He even manages to outsmart [[spoiler: a Ranker]] during Act 1, while still on the lowest floor of the Tower. He continues to hone this skill as he climbs the Tower, and his best-performing plans tend to be ones that involve using an enemy's expectations against them.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Bam. Khun describes Bam as his [[BestFriend most precious friend]], and has gone through immense lengths to support Bam multiple times in the manhwa. They’ve stuck by each other’s side for years now, and Khun even states he felt as if the world would end without Bam around.
* AnIcePerson: He has an affinity for manipulating Shinsu into ice, though he never bothered to train it due to his resentment towards his father. He learns to form an ice spear and use it to unleash waves of ice.
* ImpoverishedPatrician: Though his family is still one of the most influential ones in the Tower, his side branch got exiled and ended up impoverished after Khun Maria became a Princess of Jahad. Considering he wanted her to be that all along and made it happen, it was his own fault.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: He uses his suitcase Manbarondenna as a shield and blunt weapon at times.
* IndyPloy: He's not a fan of these. At all. He'll go to great lengths to have stacked contingency gambits to avoid having to wing it totally blind. But, when your back's to the wall, you pull a Ship while not quite admitting to it.
* InSeriesNickname: Other members of the Khun family, as well as various teammates, refer to him as AA.
* InsufferableGenius: Subverted. He has quite a big ego, but is a surprisingly decent guy the vast majority of the time. He can be quite deliberately insufferable to those he takes a dislike to, however, simply as a means of throwing them off their game. [[spoiler: Or because Rachel -- he goes out of his way to get under her skin because he just can't stand her.]]
* JourneyToFindOneself: Why he started his journey up the Tower in the first place, and why he was drawn to Bam. After successfully making his sister a princess but still feeling dissatisfied, he decided to climb the Tower to search for what he really desired.
* JustToyingWithThem: In the Dallar Show, Khun and Rachel face off in a test where the winner is the one who catches a fish. Khun does a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech, as part of which he suggests that Rachel can try to catch the fish first since it's obvious he's going to win anyway. He's right, too, since the fish is not as harmless as it looks.
* KnightKnaveAndSquire: The ruthless, pragmatic Knave to Rak's shrewdly idealistic Knight and Bam's inexperienced, naive Squire.
* KnowsAGuyWhoKnowsAGuy: Despite his sudden exit from the Khun Family, he has managed to maintain a good relationship with an unknown member of said family who holds a lot of power. This family member appeared at the 37th Floor's Wooden Horse train station in order to stun the express long enough for Bam's group to board the Hell Train in time.
* LastNameBasis: Everyone just pretty much calls him by his family name, Khun. Even his teammates and Bam, his closest friend, just use his last name. The few times his first name is uttered are when someone calls him by his full name. Though Khun is estranged from his family, he still seems proud of his heritage and has never objected to just being called Khun. However, as mentioned [[InSeriesNickName under In-Series Nickname above]] and based on how he appears when messaging over Pockets, he seems to use the nickname "AA" for himself.
* LoopholeAbuse: Aguero spends most of his time trying to subvert the Tower's rules, with mixed results.
* ManipulativeBastard: He is extremely skilled at manipulating others. Not even High Rankers are safe from this guy's ability to outwit others.
* MissionControl: He is a Light Bearer.
* MyGreatestFailure: He may not act like it, but he does feel bad about what happened between him and his sisters. [[spoiler:His older sister was set up to be a candidate for Princess of Jahad, but because he helped a distant half-sister Maria win the title, his older sister was so broken up that she [[DrivenToSuicide killed herself in shame]]. His younger adoptive sister Kiseia hated his guts for the incident, and it's for this reason his Sworn Enemy on the Hidden Floor is her.]]
* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: Sergio "Kun" Agüero, Argentinian football player. WordOfGod says that the color scheme of the Khun family was inspired by the Argentinian flag after naming Aguero after Agüero.
* TheProudElite: Despite his immediate family's disgraced status, so much so. Khun is as cocky as they get, and Hatz calls him out for this.
* PragmaticHero: Khun doesn’t hesitate to make sacrifices for his goals, such as [[spoiler: helping White regain his full power]], and coming up with especially devious plans. His more cruel side definitely comes out when it comes to Rachel, being fond of giving [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech The Reason You Suck Speeches]] to her. However, at his core, Khun isn’t a bad person. A lot of his actions are led by morally good intentions, or the goal of supporting Bam.
* PsychoSidekick: Bam is a decent, idealistic fellow who aptly describes his Best Friend Khun as a devil.
* RedOniBlueOni: Khun is the Blue Oni to Bam’s Red Oni. Whereas Bam is an enthusiastic, passionate and emotional hero, Khun is a cool-headed, introverted and pragmatic strategist. The color red is ever-present in Bam’s appearances in regards to his powers and fashion, while Khun’s forefront color always stays blue due to his hair and outfits.
* TheSmartGuy: Most likely to form (working) plans out of most teams he's in. Is able to perform a targeting calculation an ally estimates would take five minutes, in a few seconds.
* SmugSnake: Prior to his CharacterDevelopment before truly befriending Bam and Rak he had shades of this. Still there in later seasons, but less obvious, and only tends to come out when he is assured of his victory or otherwise enjoying his manipulations of the battlefield.
-->'''Khun:''' "With all these strong pawns on the battlefield... it's fun to move them around."
* SquishyWizard: Subverted. He has said the only reason he's a Light Bearer is because he likes to give orders. He's demonstrated several times that he's more than capable in close combat.
%%* SwissArmyWeapon: Manbarondenna.
* TechnicianVersusPerformer: The technician to Bam’s performer. Khun is an extremely perceptive and analytical [[TheStrategist strategist]], opting to outwit his enemies from the sidelines rather than fight them head-on. And while he enjoys his role as lighthouse, he strives to improve himself not entirely because of his enjoyment, but because he wants to catch up to Bam.
* TheLancer: Khun is TheLancer to TheHero, Bam. He acts as a foil, whereas Bam would rush into situations and prioritize everyone's safety above all else, Khun stays cool-headed and cruelly pragmatic. He doesn't hesitate to sacrifice people or use questionable tactics, such as [[spoiler:helping White reach his final form]], to further his own goals. But, in spite of their differences, they are undoubtedly each other’s [[BestFriend best friend]] and most trusted confidant.
* TheStrategist: Khun is undoubtedly the brains of the main cast. In every arc he’s featured in, he brings down his adversaries through tricks and clever gambits. His position is even that of a light bearer, a role that stays on the sidelines and guides their teammates.
-->'''Hwaryun:''' So, what do you think? You’re Bam’s strategist, right?
* TheTeam:
--> '''Original Trio:''' Khun, Bam and Rak.
--> '''Hide-and-Seek Team A:''' Khun, Anaak, Shibisu, Hwaryun, Lauroe, Aleksai, Blarouse, Sunwoo, Rozeal, Kancho, Goon, Erik, Leon 3, and First Emperor.
--> '''Submerged Fish Hunt Team:''' Khun, Bam, Rachel, Rak, Endorsi, Anaak, Shibisu, Lauroe, Hatz, Aleksai, Blarouse, Chunhwa, Sunwoo, Levin, Paracule, and Ghost.
--> '''Khun's Original Season 2 Team:''' Khun, Rachel, Ran, Nobic, Dan, Gyetang, Apple, and Michael.
--> '''Khun's Workshop Team:''' Khun, Viole, Rak, Wangnan, Dan, Ehwa, Akraptor, Goseng, Miseng, Prince, Blarode, and Quaetro.
--> '''Khun's Hell Train Team:''' Khun, Wangnan, Ehwa, Akraptor, Miseng, Prince, Blarode, and Quaetro.
--> '''Bam's Hell Train Dallar Show Team:''' Khun, Bam, Rak, Wangnan, Ehwa, Hwaryun, Boro, Aka, Sachi, Hanool, Danhwa, Moontari, Bero, Iruroe, Pompidou, and Vicente.
--> '''Bam's 43rd Floor Expedition Team:''' Khun, Bam, Rak, Ehwa, Hwaryun, Boro, Sachi, Danhwa and Iruroe.
--> '''Bam's 43rd Floor Team:''' Khun, Bam, Endorsi, Hwaryun, Boro, Sachi, Iruroe and Hockney.
* TookALevelInBadass:
** Thanks to his training with Evan Edroch aboard the Hell Train, Khun manages to combine his efforts with Beta to upgrade his Lighthouses using an Enna Core upgrade-kit.
** The Hidden Floor arc makes it quite clear that Khun's been holding off on the power within himself that was passed down from his father, Khun Edahn. His training within said arc is Khun needing to accept that his father's power is part of him, which allows Khun to use his father's ice powers, as well as utilizing ice spears in a similar manner as a Spear Bearer.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Bam.
** Khun initially befriended Bam since he seemed useful, but after spending more time with him, Khun found himself drawn to the boy. He saw himself in him, and enjoyed his company greatly, causing Khun to go out of his way to support Bam in season 1.
** This would later extend past Bam’s “supposed” demise, [[{{Revenge}} where Khun spends]] ''[[{{Revenge}} 6 years]]'' [[{{Revenge}} plotting revenge against Rachel for her role in Bam’s death]]. After it’s revealed Bam was still alive, Khun returns to his role as Bam’s strategist.
** It becomes more and more evident that Khun worries about whether or not he can catch up to Bam considering his insane power developments. Khun trains in the Data arc and even learns how to act as Spear Bearer to improve himself.
** Upon waking up from his [[ConvenientComa coma]], Khun immediately asks where Bam is. He later sulks over being asleep while Bam was going through hardships for the past two years.
-->'''Michael:''' Khun Aguero Agnes… you were always like that even when you were with us.
-->'''Michael:''' All you ever cared about… was Bam.
* WeaponsThatSuck: His bag Manbarondenna can suck up Shinsu attacks in mid-air. It even proves itself surprisingly effective against shapeshifters by sucking them up mid-transformation.
* WhyAmITicking: While pretending to heal him, [[spoiler:Rachel]] plants a bomb in his heart. She detonates it at the worst possible moment for him.
* TheWorfEffect:
** He gets hit with this often throughout Season 2 when it comes to playing XanatosSpeedChess with FUG and Rachel. Yet, still comes back swinging... Justified: he's found himself playing on their terms with little to no knowledge about how they've set up the board. A Regular playing against Rankers is at a natural disadvantage, Great Family or not. It's actually a great achievement not to get all his contingencies and tricks utterly wrecked in under ten minutes, given the scale of the divide.
** After he's made his comeback in Season 3 as one of the main strategical forces in the Battle of the Nest, he [[spoiler:gets his ass handed by Lo Po Bia Traumerei in a chess match thoroughly, to where his best efforts doesn't even allow him to last for ''2 minutes''. Not only that, he doesn't just fail to trick Traumerei into playing along with his game, but gets tricked into dancing straight towards Traumerei's plans, as Traumerei knew from the beginning about the escape plan and the traitor and even managed to leave behind a hint for Khun while Khun was completely oblivious to it. Considering that Traumerei is the greatest chess player amongst the ''10 Great Family Heads'', who are all eons more experienced than Khun, it only shows to demonstrate how even a prominent genius amongst the Khun Family is nothing compared to one of the 10 Great Family Heads not just in battle, but even trying to fight one with wits is also nigh impossible]].
* XanatosSpeedChess: He kind of has to. Any [[TheChessmaster chessmastering]] he does tend to hit unforeseen snags to work around or within. A lot. This is not usually due to a lack of forward planning, but often because he's playing well outside the normal Regular leagues. Expect him to break out the odd BatmanGambit and IndyPloy on top of any other contingencies in play.

[[folder:Rak Wraithraiser]]
!!Rak Wraithraiser
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KentaMiyake (Japanese), Matthew David Rudd (English)
!!!'''Tower Position:''' Spear Bearer
[[quoteright:315:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tog_rak.png]]
[[caption-width-right:315:[[labelnote:Click here to see Miniature Rak]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rak2_8091.png]][[/labelnote]]
->''Hunters charge into their enemies' lair knowing they might lose their head.... Prey thinks strength means staying alive. But a true hunter challenges those who are stronger than them without fear of death.''
\
A giant battle-hungry anthropomorphic alligator who loves to fight, compete, and hunt the powerful. Rak is generally a strong and pretty straightforward guy with a lot of street wisdom. He also tends to label his prey, and friends, as "turtles," and has a strange liking for bananas. Overall, Rak's a great source of the series' awesome-sauce and comedic hijinks.

In Season 1, Rak is introduced during the 2nd Floor's first test searching for worthy prey, and decides that Bam and Khun will make for good opponents. However, he ends up unwillingly becoming a team with said prey during the fight. As he goes about completing the rest of the 2nd Floor tests, Rak begins to enjoy his time spent with his new teammates, and eventually comes to see Bam and Khun as his true companions.

During Season 2, Rak continues to climb the Tower, but ends up splitting away from the rest of the 2nd Floor graduation group with Paracule being his only other notable company. He then reunites with Khun at the Workshop Battle to help Bam break away from FUG. Rak ends up disappearing from the group after falling off the Name Hunt Station bridge, but mysteriously reappears within the hidden Tower Floor. There, he learns that he has the power to control stone, and is a possible descendant of Tower's Native Ones.
----
* ArcVillain: He fought against Bam and Khun during the first 2nd Floor test believing them to be worthy prey. However, he became part of their group after the second test forced them into making a 3-man-team.
* BadassBoast: "A game without me... Is a game not worth winning!"
* BadassCape: Not that a 4-meter bipedal alligator with a 5-meter spear would need an imposing red cape.
* TheBigGuy: Second biggest of the season 1 cast (after Ghost) with physical strength to match. He's still one of the biggest of any season 2 crew he's in, even when he's kicking back in travel-size, later.
* BloodKnight: His sole reason for entering the Tower is to find interesting people to fight.
* BoisterousBruiser: He is Badass and wants you to know it.
* BookDumb: He has no idea of the basics of the Tower or weapons, but has intuition and empathic intelligence that is incredibly accurate.
* BruiserWithASoftCenter: Although he comes off as a BloodKnight at first, he's actually one of the more compassionate people in the cast. Despite what he is, he still cares deeply for Khun in season 2. And that's nothing compared to finding (and confirming the existence of) the Black Turtle.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: It's easy to underestimate him, given his hijinks and personality, but he was one of the best Spear Bearers of the E-rank Regulars, and ''considerably'' more perceptive than he looks.
** Despite hamming it up and complaining during his Spear Bearer training, Rak managed to match Ghost in the next-to-impossible feat of hitting an extremely distant target, earning an instant pass to the final test.
* {{Determinator}}: Doesn't care about what is in the way or if he says he can't come back yet, Rak will bring [[spoiler:Bam]] back.
* DishingOutDirt: He has an affinity for manipulating shinsu into earth.
* EgomaniacHunter: Claims he doesn't care about climbing the Tower in the first season, he only wants to hunt the strong. He expands his horizons to ''keeping'' and caring for a number of his hunts. Even if Paracule doesn't really count as proper prey.
* TheFettered: His principles and integrity are pure.
* FightUnscene: The remainder of Rak's fight with Arie Inieta after the alligator finally returns to his normal size ended up happening off-screen. One can only assume that the Arie member was able to defeat Rak thanks to obtaining Danhwa's ignition sword, Krishna.
* TheHeart: Yeah, despite being a hunter and pretty abrasive, he is one of the most decent and inspiring characters next to Bam, living a life of absolute honesty.
* HiddenDepths:
** For someone considered a dumb muscle, he is surprisingly perceptive at times. For instance, he was one of the only people to realize that Aguero was faking his sudden rejection of Bam in order to manipulate everyone else into supporting him. Also, early on, he seems to have noticed how suspicious it was that Bam didn't know how the artificial "sky" for each Floor worked, which even Khun didn't catch.
** Although he complained vociferously about being chibified at first, it didn't take him long to start noticing the upsides in having two modes to choose from. Fitting himself to common furniture easily is only one of the uses he's found...
* HuntingTheMostDangerousGame: His goal in the beginning.
* IAmNotLeftHanded: Anytime Rak decides to get out of his chibi form, asskicking ensues.
* InSeriesNickname: Gator.
* KnightKnaveAndSquire: The shrewdly idealistic Knight to Bam's inexperienced, naive Squire and Khun's ruthless, pragmatic Knave.
* LargeHam: All over the place, but special mention goes to the Crown game.
-->"OF COURSE! A GAME WITHOUT ME IS A GAME NOT WORTH WINNING!"
* LizardFolk: The large, bruising kind.
* ManChild: Rak is clearly at the age where he is old enough to climb the tower but he frequently behaves like a toddler. He throws a tantrum in the door test, frequently eats childish food, and has a childish appetite for chocolate bars.
** Note that these instances are from the anime (In the webcomic he doesn't start climbing on the walls in the door test- only impulsively opens a door (...[[{{FunnyBackgroundEvent}} and does an Atomic Breath and a Spirit Bomb]]), and also his favorite food is bananas not chocolate bars), which played up his role as comic relief while omitting some of his more serious interactions for the sake of pacing. Not that he's very mature in the source material either, [[{{CharacterExaggeration}} he's just not Manchild level]].
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Wraithraiser.
* TheNicknamer: Tends to call people "turtles". The Jahad princesses are exceptions: Anaak is "pesky lizard" and Endorsi is "ghostly eyeballs".
* NobleSavage: A giant bipedal alligator who may be a hammy Blood Knight, but nobody is as fair, honest, straight to the point and in tune with himself as he is.
* OnlyOneName: Rak is the only part of his name given, Wraithraiser is actually the name of his entire race.
* PaperThinDisguise: During the Workshop Battle, he stays in chibi form, wears a cloak and a bird mask, and takes an alias. Bam isn't fooled.
* PutOnABus: Falling off the Name Hunt Station bridge left Rak unable to continue with Bam and Khun to the 43rd Floor of Death. However, he mysteriously reappears in the Hidden Floor that comes after the Floor of Death.
* {{Sizeshifter}}: He eventually gains space compression permits that let him reduce his scale to avoid causing problems in the Tower.
* SleepModeSize: A giant 15-foot tall alligator man who towers over just about every single cast member. Because he is so tall, the organization controlling the tower gives him the special ability to make himself extremely short to get around in areas he otherwise wouldn't fit. When he enters combat, he can instantly change back to his true height.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Is it Wraithraiser or Wreckraiser or Lekreisher? Apparently, it is actually Lacration. A lot of people pointed out that this sounds like Lactation.
* SuperDeformed: When chibified by Yu Hansung. Despite what started out as a curse, Rak eventually learns to do the size-changing trick himself by Season 2 where he had obtained a Compression Permit from the Tower's Guardians. All the better to stalk sneaky turtles.
* TheTeam:
--> '''Original Trio:''' Rak, Bam, and Khun.
--> '''Submerged Fish Hunt Team:''' Rak, Khun, Bam, Rachel, Rak, Endorsi, Anaak, Shibisu, Lauroe, Hatz, Aleksai, Blarouse, Chunhwa, Sunwoo, Levin, Paracule, and Ghost.
--> '''Rak's Season 2 Team:''' Rak and Paracule.

* TemporaryBulkChange: He gets shrunken to half a man's height because he accidentally bumps into Yu Hansung and didn't apologize, instead making comments about how small and unnoticeable he was. So Yu Hansung kept bumping into the chibified Rak over and over, saying how he was so small he didn't notice him. Justified in that Compression is an often used supernatural technique in this series.
* TenderTears: Cries when he meets up with Bam again in Season 2, having thought up until then that his favorite turtle was dead.
* TookALevelInBadass:
** He obtains a better spear when he purchases the "Mad Shocker" spear during the Workshop Battle.
** The Hidden Floor arc has Rak eating rocks in an attempt to try to find some way to power up. Constantly eating rocks ends up teaching him how to turn his body into solid rock, which increases his strength and defense. So far, Rak's primarily been able to transform his arms.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Loves bananas, for some reason. [[AllThereInTheManual Apparently]] likes them a lot but has a lot of difficulty peeling them.
* {{Tsundere}}: Oh, so deliciously so for his prey.
-->"Without this weapon, you have no purpose! Of course I didn't get this because I cared about you or anything!"
* UndyingLoyalty: He becomes this to Bam and Khun after becoming true companions. He was heartbroken when he found out that Bam was dead and years later after finding out that the possibility of Bam being alive might exist, Rak has been doing everything in his power to find him. When he does find him, he ''sheds tears of happiness'' and affectionately embraces him.
* VerbalTic: [[SelfDemonstratingArticle You damn Turtles! Turtles, I say!]]
* VitriolicBestBuddies: With Aguero. Stick them in a room for ten minutes. Insert earplugs. Watch antics. However, try undermining their relationship... we ''dare'' you.

->''[[Characters/TowerOfGodTwentyFifthBam You]] shouldn't hesitate to hurt people. But you can't... No, it's better if you don't. You're better off leaving that to bad girls like me.''
\
A haughty, cynical, self-centered woman who was chosen as a Jahad Princess due to defeating all the adopted recruits in her Great Family to eventually being at the top of the food chain. She was considered one of the top-5 E-Rank Regulars alongside Anaak, Ran, Blarode, and Baragav.

In season 1, Endorsi quickly establishes herself as one of the strongest Regulars during Bam's appearance on the Floor of Tests given her Jahad Princess status. However, throughout the 2nd Floor, she develops a caring, yet vitriolic relationship, with Anaak due to actually wanting to help the Fake Princess climb the Tower and realizing Endorsi is technically her aunt. Her interactions with Bam also result in her becoming friendlier with the rest of the core group, as well as gaining a romantic interest in him to the point of wanting Bam to be hers at any chance she gets.

In season 2, Endorsi climbs the Tower with Shibisu's 2nd Floor graduation team. She supported the team at Workshop helping Bam break away from FUG, but ended up losing her name to Kaiser of the Hell Train's Name Hunt Station in an attempt to protect Anaak from being hunted by the Lo Po Bia Family. The result of Endorsi's name being stolen is Shibisu's team being at war with the people of the station. After Bam made a deal with Kaiser to have Endorsi's name given back to her, Endorsi joined up with Bam's Hell Train group in order to meet with Garam Jahad on the Floor of Death.
----
* ActionGirl: Endorsi proves herself to be one of the more powerful Regulars of the Floor of Tests saga. She retains this status in season 2, going toe-to-toe with the strongest E-Rank Regular, Mad Dog, in the Workshop Battle.
* BigDamnHeroes: Almost every moment when she uses the shinsu technique "Chiffon Sword" counts as one.
* BrokenBird: Her experiences trying to earn the right to become a Princess left her quite bitter.
* TheBigGuy: Small frame, but stronger than Rak.
* CharacterDevelopment: Her interactions with Bam and Anaak have really had an effect on her self-caring persona [[spoiler:although after Bam's alleged death it reverted back to a larger degree]]. In Bam's case, she ends up developing feelings for him.
* CombatStilettos: Subverted. Twice, they are successfully attacked to throw her off-balance, causing her to abandon wearing them altogether.
* CoolBigSis: She gradually grows a soft spot for Anaak and Bam. She also gains a rather aloof one in the form of Yuri Jahad. But, neither will ever admit it, and will constantly appear to be at very loud loggerheads to most outside observers.
* CurbStompBattle: She and Ghost vs. 2nd Floor Regulars.
** Then she ends up on the receiving end of this, courtesy of [[spoiler: Ren]].
* DefrostingIceQueen: She isn't a real Ice Queen, since she is rather outgoing, but she keeps her feelings to herself, views others as tools and steps over bodies to reach her goals. And then she meets Bam.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: Everyone she teleports reacts like they're lucky to survive.
* DudeMagnet: She was voted as "the #1 girl I'd like to date before I die".
* FemmeFatale: Noted to be alluring and deadly at the same time by people who observe her fighting.
* TheFightingNarcissist: Thinks herself to be highly beautiful so if you kick her in the face, make sure it finishes her off. Problem is, thanks to how strong she is it isn't easy.
* GoGetterGirl: Going through training that boiled down to 'achieve or starve' led her to become this.
* GreenEyedMonster: Rachel has thoroughly earned everyone's hatred, but Endorsi's hatred for her is at a personal level due to being jealous of how obsessed Bam is with her, even if his obsession isn't romantic.
* HornedHumanoid: She has a small skin-colored horn on the right side of her head.
* ImmortalImmaturity: She didn't become a Regular until she was around 300 years old, but she acts like a mildly sociopathic, hyperactive teenager, refusing to take responsibility, freaking out whenever someone accidentally implies she's not the prettiest girl around, and kicking people in the head when she's displeased.
* LargeHam: On occasion, especially when people aim attacks at her face.
-->"Your crime of attempting to kick the almighty Endorsi's face is appalling! For that, I shall punish you!"
* LightningBruiser: Tends to go for very fast and very hard hitting strikes when fighting; since most people can't handle a Jahad Princess at that level it's all she needs most of the time.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: She possesses a set of flying shields that protect her very well, until she faces off against Hong Chunhwa's Narumada, which breaks them. Having lost her defence, she quickly beats him up and borrows his sword.
* MutualEnvy: She is jealous of how devoted Bam is to Rachel and would gladly give up her princess privileges, which were pretty much forced on her, to be with him. On the opposite side, Rachel wants to be special and is jealous of Endorsi for being a beautiful princess like a fairy tale heroine, while her feelings towards Bam are mixed at best and consist mostly of envy.
* OlderThanTheyLook: About 300 at the start of season 1.
* OneWomanArmy: Able to massacre 197 other Regulars on the Second Floor, along with Ghost.
* OutOfFocus: She ended up as this during the Hidden Floor arc due to the Snake Charmer being her "sworn enemy." The Snake Charmer kept her locked down from being able to perform any role for the StoryArc, which basically left Endorsi sitting around while things were going on all around her on the Hidden Floor.
* RebelliousPrincess: She is actively considering the possibility of deserting the princesses of Jahad, since King Jahad strictly prohibits them from forming relationships with men on penalty of death and she has a crush on Bam, who poses a big threat to King Jahad's rule.
* ShipTease: She loves Bam and it's not a secret to anyone (except for Bam). She even declared herself Bam's girlfriend.
* SmarterThanYouLook: Appears to be an arrogant and vain woman at first glance, however she is really intelligent and is a quick thinker in the middle of combat.
* SuperToughness: When fighting Viole and Traveller, she takes a large number of ''anti-tank'' explosives directly to the face and comes out with nothing more than frazzled hair and mild annoyance.
* TheTeam:
--> '''Crown Game Team:''' Endorsi, Rachel and Ghost.
--> '''Hide-and-Seek Team B:''' Endorsi, Bam, Michelle Light (Rachel), Hatz, Hoh, Serena, Shopin, Chunhwa, Death Ryan, Mauchi, Paracule, Levin, Full Black, and Grey.
--> '''Submerged Fish Hunt Team:''' Endorsi, Bam, Anaak, Shibisu, Khun, Rachel, Rak, Endorsi, Lauroe, Hatz, Aleksai, Blarouse, Chunhwa, Sunwoo, Levin, Paracule, and Ghost.
--> '''Team Shibisu:''' Endorsi, Anaak, Shibisu, Hatz, Lauroe, Aleksai, Vespa, and Verdi.\
'''Bam's 43rd Floor Team:''' Endorsi, Bam, Khun, Hwaryun, Boro, Sachi, Iruroe and Hockney.
--> '''Bam's Hidden Floor Quarantine Team:''' Bam, Endorsi, [[spoiler: (data human) Yu Hansung]], Batis.
* TeleportSpam: Uses teleportation in battle [[spoiler: by using Bong Bong to teleport herself and Baragav hundreds of meters into the air, then kicking him into the ground, causing some damage even to the MadeOfIron Mad Dog of Yama.]]
* {{Teleportation}}: Her teleporter tool, Bong Bong.
* {{Tsundere}}: Very much so towards Bam.
* TwinkleSmile: When Bam asks a difficult favor of her in Season 3, she hesitates for a moment before confidently giving him a thumbs-up and toothy grin, claiming she likes this kind of challenge.
* WeaponizedTeleportation: She pulls this off spectacularly be using her Bong Bong to kick her opponent into the dirt from hundreds of meters into the air.

->''Who will fill the Tower with the blood of the King? Bam, the Irregular. When he reaches the top, everything in the Tower will change.''
\
A Red Witch Guide that helps certain people climb the Tower Floors. Viewing Bam as her "god," Hwaryun has remained a major support for his development and climb up the Tower.

In season 1, Hwaryun is introduced as a mysterious character wearing a mask and tight neoprene suit during the Crown Game, and dominated the last round until Bam slashed her face with shinsu. Since then, Hwaryun's wears an eyepatch, let her hair down, and pretends to take part in the wave controller class alongside Bam. In the epilogue, it's revealed that upon Rachel's arrival into the Tower, Yu Hansung had tasked Hwaryun to serve as Rachel's Guide to help the latter safely climb the Tower. She also turns out to be a member of FUG, and recruited Bam into the organization after Rachel betrayed him.

In season 2, Hwaryun continues to watch over Bam as he climbs the Tower as FUG's leader, Jue Viole Grace. By the time of the Workshop Battle, it turned out that she's been working for the FUG faction that supports Viole rather than Karaka's side that's trying to kill him, and helps Bam break away from the terrorist organization with the powerful Thorn at hand. After Workshop, she continues to guide Bam by helping him board the Hell Train express to chase after Rachel, and supports Bam's companions on the Floor of Death in order to have them fight against Hell Joe, who Hwaryun holds a major grudge against. Though this ends up being a ploy of hers, and in reality her main goal was obtaining the soul-stirring ladle in order to trade it for another Thorn fragment for Bam. She uncharacteristically does not accompany them into the Hidden Floor, but plays a vital role in helping everyone escape when Jahad's forces come to kill everyone on the Hell Train.

In season 3, she has gone her separate ways from Bam's group, for reasons even Khun has no idea about. She comes back from her "personal trip" after the events at The Wall of Peaceful Coexistence and is willing to help Bam save his Master.
----
* AffectionateNickname: Calls Bam "My God" despite knowing how much it irks him. She [[LostInTranslation uses informal language when saying it]] in contrast to other characters who use respectful wording, so it comes across more like a nickname than a sign of devotion. Has also referred to him as "My Stupid God" on occasion.
* AlmightyJanitor: While being a Guide is a very special position, it doesn't really say anything about her authority or place in FUG, with Reflejo- one of Karaka's minions, calling himself her superior near the end of the Workshop Battle. Despite this, she's casually held a call with ''Grace Mirchea Luslec, the head of FUG himself,'' in broad daylight.
* AmbiguousGender: In her first appearance a lot of readers couldn't tell whether or not she was a girl due to the leotard and because her chest size wasn't very obvious at the time. Also occurred during the period when she was dressed as [[spoiler:Yuto]].
* ArtEvolution: Had much brighter hair and less detailed eyes during the first season, as well as relatively plain clothing. As of season 2 her hair is much darker, her eye is one of the most striking parts of her appearance, and she is given progressively fancier clothing to wear as time goes on.
* TheBartender: Had this look for the beginning of season 2 while under her cover in a karaoke bar.
* BerserkButton: Not very obvious at first glance, but it looks like doubting her skills as a Guide is a quick way to piss her off. A more passive aggressive example than most due to her more subdued nature.
* BlaseBoast: Is fond of doing this from time to time. She likes to treat her Guide abilities as nothing special after doing something absurd with them. Like when on the Name Hunt station when she talks about how there are no rooms in the Tower that can't be found.
* BrutalHonesty: Tends to be very frank when speaking with others.
* ChekhovsGunman: She first appears as a mysterious, strong Regular who gets injured in the crown game. [[spoiler: She is actually an extremely experienced FUG member and a Guide like Evan; in fact acting as Rachel's, and then Bam's Guide.]]
* TheChessmaster: She knew about the Elder's plan to [[spoiler:turn Viole into a weapon for the other Slayers to use]] well-beforehand, and used it as a means of [[spoiler:reuniting Bam with his friends]]. With almost the entirety of the Workshop Battle arc working out because of her plans.
* CombatPragmatist: When she's forced to help Team Rachel, she has no qualms about ordering them to perform a GroinAttack on some of the tougher enemies, [[EvenEvilHasStandards much to their chagrin]].
* CompressedHair: How exactly Hwaryun managed to seamlessly fit her below waist-length hair in a helmet [[spoiler:while going as Yuto]], let alone underneath a ''skintight latex hood'', is perhaps one of the biggest mysteries about her.
* CurbStompBattle: In the Crown Game, she sweeps the floor with everybody except Endorsi.
* DamselInDistress: [[spoiler: Is used as a hostage to prevent Bam during a battle to limit his ability to fight back. And she gets captured by Rachel's group to help them in the Hell Train. Although since she can see the future, it's hard to tell how much of this is JustAsPlanned; certainly her getting captured in the workshop battle ultimately ended up putting her just where she wanted to be after the arc was over.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Always speaks in a neutral tone even when dishing out the snark.
* DisabledSnarker: Losing an eye does little to impede her usual attitude.
* DubNameChange: Her name in the Japanese translation changes to "Karen".
* ElegantGothicLolita: A lot of her outfits give off this feel.
* EnigmaticMinion: She's an FUG member, and yet she occasionally goes out of her way to help other Regulars for no reason. No wonder some of her colleagues are wary of her.
** Noticeably, when Bam asks her why she's siding with FUG, she ducks the question by giving a general answer about why ''other people'' would do so instead.
* EyepatchOfPower: After her eye got cut by Bam. [[AllThereInTheManual Side materials]] claim that she is actually really fond of it, and likes herself better with the eyepatch on.
* EyeScream: There's one fairly graphic panel of Bam's power slashing across her eye; if you're reading quickly, it's easy to miss that the slash is shown cutting deeply ''into the eyeball.''[[note]]Specifically; the cut starts well below the eye, travels through her eyesocket and the lip of her eyelid, continues upward through her forehead ridge and cutting through the eyebrow, and then ''keeps going off-panel.'' Judging by the size of her eyepatch, if she does have a scar then it's roughly half the length of her face.[[/note]]
* FanDisservice: While in most cases seeing a character with her looks have their shirt wide open would be a nice dish of Fanservice, having it open due to [[spoiler:her being beaten bloody by Reflejo as a "lesson" and propped up in a CrucifiedHeroShot]] made it more disturbing than anything else.
* FieryRedhead: Subverted. She is more a CuteMute or TheStoic than fiery.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Pretty much everyone distrusts her for one reason or another, and tend to actively avoid her unless they are forced to use her help. The only exception being Bam because, well, [[AllLovingHero he's Bam]].
* TheGadfly: Subtle, but it's there. Has a habit of messing with people by showing off how much she knows without actually giving any real information, and from the looks of it she mostly does it just because [[ItAmusedMe it was funny.]] Even when she goes out of her way to motivate people, she can't help but add in a few jabs here and there. Like when she motivates Yeon after the flower incident only to finish by saying that you can't expect much from a girl who can't even cook.
* GuileHeroine: Whether or not her intentions are on the good side of things has yet to be seen, her manipulative tendencies have shown up from time to time. Usually pushing a character in a personal dilemma into a direction that will lead to them to continue helping Bam.
* InformedAttractiveness: In one of his blogposts, SIU stated that the most beautiful woman introduced in season one was Hwaryun and that this was actually a plot point; which at the time was something that could be debated. [[ArtEvolution But as of her first appearance in Season two, it's hard to argue on the contrary.]]
* ItsPersonal: Claims to have a grudge against Hell Joe for killing a fellow Guide when it wasn't yet their destined time to die. Wanting Yuri and the others to take him out for her. [[spoiler:Subverted later on when its revealed that, while she did have a grudge, she mainly just wanted a distraction so she could get the ladle which would help Bam later on.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: She has her share of sarcasm, and tends to not get along with anyone not named Bam/Viole.
* LuminescentBlush: Sports one brielfy when Viole tears off some of her clothing [[spoiler:when she's disguised as Yuto.]]
* MageSpecies: She is from the Red Witch clan, who are known for their bright red hair and being Guides.
* MagicStaff: Her weapon, also counts as a FlyingWeapon.
* TheMole: Was this during both in the first season, and during [[spoiler:the Workshop Battle acting as Yuto.]]
* MysteriousWoman: While she's eventually revealed to come from a clan of Guides, and seems to be fond of [=Viole/Bam=], her background and motivations are largely unknown.
* NominalHero: Or she could be this, since her motivations are not clear, and the group has to rely on her due to her position as a Guide.
* NotSoOmniscientAfterAll: While her knowledge about the Tower is overall good, she lacks information about Irregulars. [[spoiler:Among other things, she has been blindsided by Rachel due to this. In addition, Rachel's team has Emily, whose omniscient-like abilities really screws up Hwaryun's own knowledge base.]]
* OracularUrchin: Has shades of this, especially since she tends to be extremely cryptic with her advice as a Guide and never lets anybody else in on her plans.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Khun becomes instantly suspicious when Hwaryun claims she wants them to take out Hell Joe because of a personal grudge against him. Since he doesn't believe she would do anything if it wasn't helping Bam in some way. [[spoiler: He's right, while she did have a grudge against Joe, she didn't think it was as important as getting the ladle to trade for another Thorn fragment for Bam]].
** Another example is when she chooses not to go to the Hidden Floor with everyone else. Khun instantly becomes wary of it, noting how she would normally be willing to follow Bam into Hell every other time.
* OutGambitted: [[spoiler:While she manages to outgambit Reflejo and especially his minions, she doesn't expect Cassano of planting a spying device on her tools, turning her into a DamselInDistress later.]]
* PrecisionFStrike: Hwaryun is the first character to outright refer to [[spoiler:Rachel]] as a bitch.
* PowerOfTrust: It's been pointed out that Bam has complete faith in her as his Guide, best seen in their encounter with Mirotic guardian.
** She later comments on this when forced to help Rachel's group, and how their doubt in her lessened their effectiveness, with her noting how Bam is much easier to control than them.
* TheQuietOne: For most of season one, she just sits around in the class room or the background. In season one she just has three conversations, with Aguero, Bam and Rachel. [[spoiler: Quite possibly, she was just silent because FUG didn't see the need for her to socialize with the other Regulars.]]
** Averted in season two; she's on the quiet side, but she talks far more.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Gives one to Bam during the Hell Train arc because his recklessness when confronting Rachel made everyone else vulnerable.
* SamusIsAGirl: She somehow manages to do this ''TWICE''.
* SarcasticDevotee: Snarks every once and a while, mostly to Bam when the two share a conversation. Always willing to aid him, but never divulging the reasons for why.
* ScrewDestiny: Seems a bit odd at first, but when she is being interrogated by Evan on what Path she is trying to have Bam follow she denies the accusation. Instead claiming that she isn't trying to have him follow anyone's else path, but have him create an entirely new one for himself.
* {{Seers}}: An odd example of this since it appears to be a somewhat limited example. Rather than predicting the future (though it is mentioned that Guides are capable of this occasionally) she is able to see the best method for a person to complete something, and the "path" they must take to get what they want.
* ShipTease: Less obvious than the other examples in the series, but it has been noted that when she was talking about him becoming worthy of being her God as well as a man, the wording was a bit ambiguous as to whether or not she was commenting on his growth, or hitting on him by calling him her man.
** Adding on to this, as AffectionateNickname points out she tends to treat him more endearing than every other character she interacts with, and despite how harshly she talks to him at times it always seems to be in his best interests. It's also a bit odd how much the two seem to trust each other despite the [[ManipulativeBitch many reasons]] why people would act otherwise. Though it could just be chalked up to Bam's naivety.
** A subtle example, but she tends to dislike socializing with anyone else outside of giving them guidance. But there's a RunningGag where she gets a bit upset whenever Bam ignores or is oblivious to her presence in the room.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: Silent, but kind of adorable.
* TheTeam
--> '''Crown Game Team:''' Hwaryun (Mask), Goon and Yung.
--> '''Hide-and-Seek Team A:''' Hwaryun, Shibisu, Khun, Anaak, Lauroe, Aleksai, Blarouse, Sunwoo, Rozeal, Kancho, Goon, Erik, Leon 3, and First Emperor.
--> '''Viole's FUG Team:''' Yuto (Hwaryun), Viole, Reflejo, Sia Sia, Horyang, Cassano, Ran, and Nobic.
--> '''Hwaryun's Rescue Party:''' Hwaryun, Horyang and Nobic.
--> '''Bam's Hell Train Team:''' Hwaryun, Rak, Bam, Boro, Hanool, and Hana.
--> '''Bam's Hell Train Dallar Show Team:''' Hwaryun, Bam, Khun, Rak, Wangnan, Ehwa, Boro, Aka, Sachi, Hanool, Danhwa, Moontari, Bero, Iruroe, Pompidou, and Vicente.

--> '''Bam's 43rd Floor Team:''' Hwaryun, Bam, Khun, Endorsi, Boro, Sachi, Iruroe and Hockney.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: With Rachel's group after being held hostage by them in the Hell Train.
* UndyingLoyalty: Not so obvious in the beginning, but as time has gone on its become clear that she could give Khun a run for his money with how devoted she is to helping Bam.
* WalkingSpoiler: A lot about Hwaryun is revealed once readers see her true role in the season 1 epilogue.
* TheWorfEffect: Though she doesn't have many combat appearances, it was still surprising to see someone who dominated a team of Regulars in a matter of seconds be beaten soundly, along with Horyang and Nobic, in order to show how strong Reflejo and Cassano were. Though somewhat justified by the fact that WordOfGod claims Guides have relatively low battle skills.
** Also done in a non-combat based sense with her abilities as a Guide, her foresight was pretty much the main reason why the Workshop Battle worked out as well as it did for the heroes. During the Hell Train arc, she is largely useless since her powers aren't able to [[ImmuneToFate predict Rachel's movements due to Rachel's status as an Irregular and because of Emily's unique abilities]]. Makes up for it later on when her Guide abilities return when Bam leaves the Hidden Floor, with her being one of the main reasons they survived the encounter with [[spoiler:Jahad's Royal Army]].
* WorldsMostBeautifulWoman: WordOfGod says she is the prettiest of the Part 1 Regulars, and that it is a plot point.

A being similar to Horyang, and Cassano, who had been turned into an experimental Living Ignition Weapon. Beta has lived on the Archimedes airship that houses the Workshop Battle almost his whole life as one who was experimented on by researcher Sophia within the ship's Acorn Workshop.

Out for revenge believing that Workshop made him suffer to push along the Living Ignition Weapon experiments for Viole's sake, Beta joins forces with FUG to lead said Slayer Candidate into Reflejo's trap so that Viole would get melted into the Thorn ignition weapon. However, the plan fails after Viole escapes the trap with the Thorn at hand, and then pushes Beta to his limits utilizing the Thorn's power. Beta falls unconscious due to the fight, but it's soon revealed that Workshop has already decided to dispose of Beta permanently for being a failed experiment. In order for Beta to live free from Workshop, Sophia is able to convince Lero-Ro to help the former escape the Workshop Battle.

After the Workshop Battle, and having learned that Cassano had baited him into fighting against Viole, Beta is hit with a HeelFaceTurn, and sides with Bam's group to ascend the Tower as a part of Nobic's team by joining their attempt to board the Hell Train in order to get revenge on Cassano for tricking him. Since he's not considered a true Regular, Team Nobic stores Beta as an item within Sia's lighthouse as the team climbs up the Tower.
----
* ArcVillain: Fought against Viole and his companions during the Workshop Battle.
* CharacterDevelopment: He loses a lot of his villainous aspects after being hit with a HeelFaceTurn.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Not only he is a Living Ignition Weapon experiment, he was forced to kill his friends during said experiments.
* ADayInTheLimelight: The Workshop Battle tournament was basically an entire introduction arc for Beta's character.
* GreenEyedMonster: The reason he joins FUG to destroy Bam is because he's jealous that his target, Bam, has friends and is trying to reunite with them, while he had to kill his own friends in the past as part of being a living weapon, claiming that his target should suffer the same pain as he did. And in Vol.2 Chapter 95, he finally gets a ShutUpHannibal on his face.
-->'''Bam:''' The reason you hated me wasn't for revenge...You just needed someone to hate.
* HeelFaceTurn: Decides to join with Bam in the end. He is currently part of Khun's spare team along with Ran, Nobic, Sia Sia and Dan.
* LoopholeAbuse: Despite not being a true Regular, Beta climbs the Tower anyways, by remaining hidden inside the Heavenly Mirror or a Lighthouse.
* MeaningfulName: He's essentially the only surviving member of the beta test group. Worse, his abilities are buggy, with Sophia needing to supply patches as needed. The upside? By comparison, the Wings of the Devils are better-balanced, but overall... nerfed.
* OutOfFocus: After Train City, the poor guy has remained stuck within Sia and Khun's lighthouses as the group makes their way up to the 43rd Floor of Death.
* PlayingWithSyringes: He's the very messed-up result of this. And, without the continued long-distance support of Sophia's expertise, he'd quickly run into problems maintaining his physical and mental well-being.
* TheTeam:
--> '''Team Nobic:''' Beta, Dan, Nobic, Ran, and Sia Sia.
* TookALevelInBadass: Beta really stepped up his game when the Hell Train chapters came along. Not only was he able to solo a couple of Ha Yura's followers, he was able to cause damage to the Mirotic guardian despite previous characters have been shown to fail.
* TykeBomb: Like the other experiments. They were all raised specifically to be weapons from a very young age.
* UnwittingPawn: Relying on Emily for information isn't a good idea...

->''There is no such thing as unconditional love in this world. If someone doesn't pay the price for the love that they have received, how can you call them human?''
\
A D-Rank veteran warlord of the Lo Po Bia Family's Grey Wolf branch that ruled the 39th Floor's Name Hunt Station for over a thousand years. Kaiser is one of the top-3 D-ranks alongside Sachi and the Bia Princess twins.

In the past, Kaiser was meant to be a Jahad Princess for the Lo Po Bia Family, but a trap laid out by the Jahad and Bia families led her to become stuck at the Name Hunt Station; forever trying to pay off a massive debt that had been placed on her and the Grey Wolf faction. In the present, Kaiser serves as the primary antagonist of the Name Hunt station arc since Yuri has tasked Bam to steal away Kaiser's name so that he can prove to her that he can take on the 43rd Floor of Death. The station warlord is notorious for stealing the names of Regulars who arrive at the station.
----
* ArcVillainess: Fought against Bam and his companions during the 39th Floor's Name Hunt Station arc alongside the Lo Po Bia twins.
* TheBeastmaster: Controls "Fenryl" a special wolf spirit Shinheuh that is only controllable by a very low number of people from her family.
* DarkActionGirl: Is one of the 3 top D-rank Regulars, but on a completely different level to Sachi Faker, one of the other 3. More impressively, she has never had her name stolen in over a thousand years.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Hundreds of years ago, Kaiser of the Lo Po Bia Family's Grey Wolf faction was showing potential to be picked as a Jahad Princess, but she would end up falling into a trap laid out by the Bia and Jahad families to see if she would fall in love with a boy they staged before her, which she did. As a result, Kaiser was not chosen as a Jahad Princess, and was punished to climb the Tower as a normal Regular until she reached the 39th Floor. Here, she would have to take part in a "Special Labor Punishment" as the head of Name Hunt Station to pay off the punishment fee that was placed on her and the Grey Wolf faction. It gets even worse when it's discovered that the Grey Wolf faction had been wasting all the money that Kaiser's been providing them for the debt; resulting in none of the debt ever decreasing, and has basically left Kaiser stuck at the Name Hunt Station.
* TheDreaded: Like Sachi, people fear Kaiser, because she's considered to be one of the top-3 D-rank Regulars.
* GoalInLife: Kaiser works at Name Hunt Station in order to finally be forgiven by her Grey Wolf Family for her failure to become a Jahad Princess. [[spoiler:In the end, she lets go of that goal after Bam helps her leave the station by paying off the family's debt]].
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:She quits the name-stealing business after Bam gets FUG to pay off her debt]].

[[spoiler:She was stated to definitely be the villain of the Name Hunt Station StoryArc for what she was doing and had no sin absolving reason to do it and her later monologue was one meant to declare the character independence and new future, but not regret or show repentance for her crimes. 392* TheLeader: Of the Name Hunt Station and its Ten Bosses.
* MyGreatestFailure: Kaiser regrets failing the love test that led to her Grey Wolf faction getting punished with a massive debt being placed upon them. It's because of this regret that Kaiser doesn't appear to have any problem with knowing that the Grey Wolves are wasting the money away that she's been providing them to pay off the debt.
* OutOfFocus: [[spoiler:Despite appearing as a member of Bam's Season 3 team, Elaine's remained in the background. Even weirder is that Bam ended up coming across her father, yet she wasn't involved in this encounter in any way]].
* PutOnABus: [[spoiler:Elaine leaves Name Hunt Station on Jinsung's ship after he purchased her name at the festival auction. 408A painter Regular with an odd set of eyes who's considered to be the top scout amongst the D-rankers, and originally used to live on the 43rd Floor of Death before managing to escape the place. Despite his strong reputation, Hockney made a home for himself within the 40th Hell Train station known as the Mushroom Farm, and has stayed put until the last piece of his Red Light painting he's been waiting for finally appears.

However, he's finally forced to enter the Hell Train due to Yura having obtained the Red Light piece, which Hockney considers to be a part of his soul. Yura then baits Hockney to return to the Floor of Death by informing him through Emily that he will find his Red Light painting there. For his return to the Floor of Death, Hockney joins up with Bam's expedition team.
----
* CurbStompBattle: In order to enter the Hell Train, Hockney easily immobilizes two Regulars living on the Mushroom Farm who attempt to convince Hockney to stay on the 40th Floor Station in order for Hockney to continue protecting them.

She is next forced to go along with Prince's loan shark team for another attempt at the 20th Floor test because of the debt she gained failing the test that she fried Wangnan in. Control over Ehwa ends up getting transferred to Viole after he defeats Prince's high-score on the punching machine for the 20th Floor test. She's also a user of the rare Flame User Position, which is basically converting shinsu into fire.

Following her freedom from Lurker Cash, Ehwa joins up with Viole and Wangnan's Sweet and Sour group that was formed as a result of completing the 20th Floor test. However, she learns of her Great Yeon Family having a dark side to them due to discovering the family's mistreatment of the Zigenas during the 21st Floor test. As a result, she decides to climb the Tower with Viole to witness the darkness of the other Great Families, and return to the Yeon Family after becoming a Ranker to set the family straight.

Afterwards, Ehwa climbs the Tower with the Sweet and Sour team all the way to the Hell Train, but unlike the rest of Wangnan's group, who continue the chase for Cassano, Yeon is asked to rejoin with Bam starting from the 39th Floor's Name Hunt Station.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: During the FUG arc.
* ArentYouGoingToRavishMe: A little downplayed but Yeon basically asked this when she found out that Viole was a male and was staying in the same room. Suffice to say, Viole calmly expresses no interest in her body (and phrases it as such) which pisses off Yeon because... well... she's a woman with pride in her figure.
* ButtMonkey: Despite WordOfGod saying she is second in power only to Viole out of Sweet and Sour she server mostly as PluckyComicRelief.
* CantLiveWithThemCantLiveWithoutThem: She claims she hates Viole, however she knows that she can only control her flames when he is around.

* EmbarrassingNickname: She became known as the "Flamethrower" after her last test for the 20th Floor during which she burned ''everyone'', including her own teammates, and failed.
* HeroicBSOD: Learning about what her Great Yeon Family was doing to the Zigena of the 21st Floor sent her into a depression. Thankfully, Hwaryun got her out of it.
* {{Irony}}: At least in the beginning. She is a clumsy pyromancer who also cannot cook, but is a good swimmer.
* {{Flight}}: After finally awakening her powers as a member of the Yeon Family, she spends the entirety of her first battle flying.
* TheKlutz: She fumbles constantly. Not just with her fire abilities, either. Tech savvy she isn't.
* LethalChef: Miseng starts ''crying'' when Ehwa decided to take over Viole's cooking. Worse, the hustle to find alternatives.

A seemingly average-looking guy who provides the series a ton of comedic moments. Shibisu starts off looking like someone who doesn't have anything special about him, and gets easily pushed around by those stronger than him. However, it soon turns out that he is actually much smarter than he looks, which results in people willing to stand behind his command.

In season 1, Shibisu is somehow able to get himself paired up with two monster Regulars, Hatz and Anaak, that made up for his lack of strength in the initial 2nd Floor tests. He's eventually able to pass the Floor of Tests with the rest of the group.

In season 2, Shibisu acts as the leader of his team due to his proven intellect as they go about climbing the Tower. Their main goal is to protect Anaak from the Tower given her Fake Princess status. Like Khun, Shibisu was there when he learned of Rachel's betrayal; meaning that the rest of his team also knows. Shibisu also leads his team at the Workshop Battle and Name Hunt Station. The former of which turns into a mission to help Bam break away from FUG while the latter has the team take on Kaiser's faction in order to get Endorsi's stolen name back.

* BadassBookworm: Shibisu is much more perceptive than he looks but among his team he's still OvershadowedByAwesome. But he can fight two people at once, proving that his knowledge of the Killer Martial Arts is not just for show.
* ButtMonkey: Even though he is the leader of his team he gets pushed around a lot by them.
* CharacterDevelopment: He starts to take his leadership role for the team a lot more seriously by season 2.
* ChickMagnet: Not as much as Bam, but if one looks closely, there is at least two women who like him, Serena and Anaak.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Brown.
* DoggedNiceGuy: A non-romantic example, but Anaak and Hatz have physically ''dragged'' him around when he doesn't do what they want.
* DraggedByTheCollar: How Anaak dragged a protesting Shibisu off the stage after agreeing to take part in the test.
* TheDragAlong: After Anaak agrees to take part in the special examination with Bam, she walks cooly offstage, silently dragging a kicking and screaming Shibisu behind her.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: A sequence of them in the first few chapters after his introduction -- showing his ButtMonkey status by having him blustering ineffectually while Anaak and Hatz show off their skills, then revealing his {{Determinator}} nature by having him push through Lero-Ro's Shinsu barrier test with sheer willpower, and finally having him demonstrate his intelligence by being the only person to perfectly solve Yu Hansung's door puzzle.
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: The Ranker says anyone unable to make it through the barrier was chosen to fail and nothing they do can change that. Shibisu decided to screw that and pushed his way through the barrier through pure willpower.
* GuileHero: His [[http://towerofgod.wikia.com/wiki/Ship_Shibisu stat sheet]] lists him as nearly dead last in every single category... except intelligence, where he's one of the highest of the first season's Regulars.
* HeroicSacrifice: Tries to pull a non-lethal one on Quant.
* TheLeader: Takes on this role for the team in season 2.
* TheLoad: Starts off seeming like he will be one to Hatz and Anaak, almost causing them all to fail the second test, then shows he's one of the smartest characters in the series the next test and is even ''the team leader in the second volume.''
* OlderThanHeLooks: Not nearly as extreme as many other characters, but he's ''26'' in the first volume, despite looking and ''acting'' like a teen.
* NiceGuy: Among other things, he uses his own body to cling on to Quant, getting horribly beaten up solely to slow him down a tiny bit and increase his team's chances of victory even though, as Quant points out, he himself was already certain to pass.
* ShipTease: With Serena in the first season.
* TheSmartGuy: Along with Aguero, forms the strategical team.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: The official translation of his name is Shibisu, while earlier translations read as Ship Leesoo.

* TeamMom: A gender-flipped example.
* TookALevelInBadass: He goes from ButtMonkey in the 1st season, to the team leader in the 2nd season.
* TheUnchosenOne: His inability to walk through the Shinsu barrier made him doomed to fail in the eyes of the Ranker in charge of the test, so he "chose himself" and pushed his way through.

\

A solitary lizard girl who spent a great time of her life on the outer 43rd Floor with Garam Jahad before being chosen to enter the inner Tower. Anaak is out to get revenge for her parents' murder by killing the entire Jahad family, and the hook weapon she wields turns out to be her mother's 13-Month Weapon, the Green April. She was also considered one of the top-5 E-Rank Regulars alongside Endorsi, Ran, Blarode and Baragav.

In season 1, Anaak first appears on the 2nd Floor in the initial survival test where she meets Hatz and immediately battles him. Though she is one of the strongest on the 2nd Floor, she keeps to herself despite forming a team with Hatz and Shibisu. She's also the reason that Bam would end up losing the 13-Month Series, Black March.

In truth, Anaak is the daughter of the real Anaak Jahad; a defected Princess who broke the law of Jahad's rule by giving birth to a child, which resulted in Jahad's borrowed power getting passed down to the infant. This makes the daughter Anaak a Fake Jahad Princess; an existence that is seen as an insult to the Jahad Rulers, and makes her an enemy to the entire Tower. Princess Yuri manages to protect Anaak from a Ranker assassin, Ren, that was sent to kill Anaak during her journey through the Floor of Tests. However, Yuri in return takes away the two 13-Month Weapons that Anaak had hold of.

In season 2, Anaak is currently climbing the Tower as part of Shibisu’s team and supports them on whatever mission they come across.
----
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: She is extremely powerful in her own right, but time and time again when she faces a Jahad Princess or anyone of high standing, is proven to still be lacking in the power required to even start her quest for revenge right.
** Also suffered this with Khun Ran in the Workshop Battle, though it's hard to tell how it would have ended since [[spoiler: Paracule interrupted the match.]]
* ArcVillainess: Towards Bam for the 2nd Floor's Crown Game. She threatened to kill him if he didn't hand over the Black March. The two of them made a bet over each other's 13-Month weapons (Black March and Green April) depending on if Bam could win the Crown Game, which resulted in Bam losing in the final round.
* BerserkButton: Anything related to [[spoiler: the Jahads]] makes her blood boil. [[spoiler:And then Ren reveals he killed her mother.]]
* {{BFS}}: Her new weapon after Yuri takes the Green April is an enormous spear, which is at least 15 feet long. Justified because Anaak is used to the Green April's Ignition, which is even larger.
* CharacterDevelopment: She's calmed down a lot since the early season 1 chapters now that she's got a team of friends willing to protect her from an entire Tower that wants her dead.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: The colour is brown.
* DeathGlare: [[spoiler: When Ren taunts her with her mother's amulet]].
* DisappearedDad: A driving force of her quest is getting revenge for 'The death of that Chicken-Pie cook', her unnamed father.
* FatalFlaw: {{Pride}}. Time and again, it proves her Achilles heel.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Green April, before Yuri takes it from her. It is a hook that can decompress to an unimaginable size.
* LegacyCharacter: She's actually the daughter of the original Anaak Jahad.
* LightningBruiser: Agile enough to fight evenly with [[spoiler: Ran]] and strong enough to disable [[spoiler: Nobic]] in one shot.
* LittleMissBadass: Despite looking like a 10-year-old, she was one of the top 5 E-rank Regulars (before she became a D-rank).
* LizardFolk: Appears to be from her mother's side, though this is an assumption since her father was never shown.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: Pretends to be a spoilt brat during the crown game, and then reveals she is placed exactly where she wanted to be - in the best position for her skills to be fully utilized. She proceeds to swat everybody like flies.
* OddFriendship: With Endorsi.
* OlderThanTheyLook: About 300 when season 1 starts.
* OutOfFocus: Despite season 1 going to great lengths to develop her Fake Jahad Princess status, Anaak has remained mostly as support for Shibisu’s team in season 2. The lone exception being her developing [[TheRival rivalry]] with Khun Ran.
* {{Pride}}: Her FatalFlaw. [[spoiler:Which is mercilessly exploited by Ran.]]
* PintSizedPowerhouse: According to the wiki, 154cm. Able to throw a spear with enough force to punch a hole in a building.
* TheRival: To Ran.
* TheTeam:
--> '''Crown Game Team:''' Anaak, Shibisu, and Hatz.

* {{Tsundere}}: There are times when she'll get pissed whenever Shibisu looks at another woman.
* WalkingSpoiler: Knowing about Anaak's past gives away a major plot-point that is revealed throughout the Floor of Tests saga.

->''From the moment I was born, my hands have trained to hold the sword. Once they grab on, they never let go.''
\
The son of a swordsmith that claims to follow the spirit of swordsmanship. Hatz has been training in the way of the sword for many years, and is extremely loyal to those that he deems to be his companions.

In season 1, Hatz manages to use his swordsmanship skills to go toe to toe with Anaak during his 2nd Floor introduction. Throughout the Floor of Tests, Hatz continued to prove himself to be one of tougher Regulars as a user of the sword, and even manages to take on a Ranker, Quant, by himself for a brief time.

In season 2, Hatz is currently climbing the Tower with Shibisu's 2nd Floor graduation team. He's become so famous at this point that the mere rumor that someone managed to beat 'that Hatz guy' in battle is their main selling point as a mercenary. Due to Cassano breaking his sentimental sword, Hatz spends most of the Workshop Battle off doing his own thing in search of a new weapon. He eventually shows off a new weapon during the war at Name Hunt Station, an ignition sword known as Donghae.
----
* AbsurdlySharpBlade: He uses Shinsu manipulation to turn his swords into these.
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: [[spoiler:The anime adapts out a scene that depicts Hatz as far more of an UnscrupulousHero. Specifically, after disarming Serena during the Crown Game, he attempts to kill a sleeping Lauroe out of disgust that he would fall asleep while his comrades were fighting for their lives.]]
* BigDamnHeroes: He saves Team Nobic before they lost their names to a No-name Regular at Name Hunt Station.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Although he has magic swords at the beginning, he's the only "powerhouse" character with no native advantages; all other high-ranking Regulars benefit from SuperpowerfulGenetics or some other special advantage, but Hatz's power comes entirely from ridiculous training, to the point where even at the start, he can go toe-to-toe with a Princess of Jahad and (briefly) stand his ground against a Ranker.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: His colour is black.
* ADayInTheLimelight: During the Workshop Battle saga, Hatz is off doing his own thing within the Archimedes Acorn Workshop away from the rest of Shibisu's Team, who are taking part in the main Workshop Battle tournament. The main purpose of this side-journey was to find a replacement sword for the one he lost in a fight against Cassano, but ended up stumbling upon the forbidden Acorn Workshop that has been working on developing the Emily weapon.
* DualWielding: The Sword That Flies Higher Than Any. The Sword That Flies Lower Than Any.
* FantasyCounterpartCulture: His clothing, his name, his physical characteristics, his weapons and his mentality are very Japanese.
* FlyingWeapon: He uses a flying sword as one of his weapons on the Second Floor, although he seems to have lost it later on.
* FragileSpeedster: His sword techniques strike very quickly, but both his sword and him can't handle too much of a beating.
* HeroicSacrifice: Attempts a non-lethal one during the Second Floor test to stop Quant from pursuing the rest of the team.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: It doesn't matter if it's a sword or a random pipe he picked up. If it is in his hands it WILL cut you.
* MasterSwordsman: He's established as one of the best Regulars introduced on the Floor of Tests as an exceptional sword user, and continues to be one as he climbs up the Tower.
* {{Ronin}}: Though probably a Korean version of a masterless Samurai.
* {{Samurai}}: More of a {{Ronin}}, but still.
* PragmaticHero: His sense of fairness is very flexible in certain situations.
* TheQuietOne: Does not speak much.
* ShroudedInMyth: Mild one. Five years after his debut in The Tower, beating "that Hatz guy" seems to be a major accomplishment.
* TheTeam:
--> '''Crown Game Team:''' Hatz, Shibisu, and Anaak.
--> '''Hide-and-Seek Team B:''' Hatz, Endorsi, Bam, Michelle Light (Rachel), Hoh, Serena, Shopin, Chunhwa, Death Ryan, Mauchi, Paracule, Levin, Full Black, and Grey.

--> '''Team Shibisu:''' Hatz, Endorsi, Anaak, Shibisu, Lauroe, Aleksai, Vespa, and Verdi.
* WeakButSkilled: Compared to powerhouses like the Jahad Princesses and Viole.

\

A branch member of the Great Eurasia Family, who runs around with a blanket and pillow to sleep wherever he can.

In season 1, Lauroe establishes himself as one of the more powerful Floor of Test Regulars due to his incredible Shinsu control as a wave controller. The only problem is that he requires a lot of rest.

In season 2, Lauroe continues to climb the Tower as part of Shibisu's 2nd Floor graduation team, and supports them on whatever mission they come across.
----
* BrilliantButLazy: He's one of the most powerful of the Regulars in the first and second season, but usually prefers to just curl up in his blanket and fall asleep.
* BrutalHonesty: During Wave Controller training on the Second Floor Lauroe bluntly agrees with Hoh's assessment that he may not be talented enough to become a successful Wave Controller. When Bam [[WhatTheHellHero calls him out]] for his rudeness, Lauroe gives Bam brief words of guidance that, in [[InstantExpert just seconds]], allows the boy to produce a ball of shinsu on his own. Lauroe then walks away saying ''that's'' what real talent looks like.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Kicks ass when he stops sleeping on the battlefield.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: As seen in the Crown Game special test.
* DemotedToComicRelief: While most of the Part 1 regulars get reduced focus in Part 2, Lauroe gets this the worst. Specifically, Part 1 showed him having hints of an [[ArrogantKungFuGuy Arrogant Wave Controller]] personality, surprising tenacity in his fight against Anak, and some of the more humorous SnarkKnight moments. Meanwhile, Part 2 [[spoiler:depicts him as a literal [[TheDragAlong drag along]] that is constantly carried around by his team, rarely interacts with anyone, and has [[{{Flanderization}} no personality traits]] besides [[{{Sleepyhead}} sleepiness]] (which, incidentally, every single member of the [[GangOfHats Phonsekal family]] also has)]].
* {{Flight}}: Is able to levitate.
* HiddenDepths: Being one of the older members of the cast in the first season, and being from one of the 10 great families means he's way savvier than he lets on.
* ItRunsInTheFamily: From a branch member of the Eurasia family, which is notorious for their laziness.
* MentorArchetype: He helps Bam develop his shinsu abilities during the wave controller class.
* OlderThanTheyLook: WordOfGod says he is in his 130s.
* OutOfFocus: Compared to his other teammates on Team Shibisu, he hasn't had much to do in Season 2. His primary [[ADayInTheLimelight day-in-the-limelight]] was when he forced the Medina parasite out of Beta during the Workshop Battle.
* PunchClockHero: Works for his team only when forced to. Or, if he just steps in randomly, it's simply the quickest way to get back to sleep in peace and quiet.
* PureEnergy: Is able to create blasts of Shinsu that out-power most.
* {{Sleepyhead}}: Carries a pillow and a blanket around everywhere, and will throw them down and fall asleep at the slightest opportunity.

-->--'''Quant'''
\
A silent, and large devil-winged muscle man who's viewed as the dreaded by those around him.

In season 1, Aleksai was said to have attacked anybody he could in the 2nd Floor's starting survival test, which gave him a reputation as someone who was probably an incredibly dangerous fellow. However, he becomes part of the core group making it through the Floor of Tests, and proves to have spear-throwing skills on par with Rak's.

In season 2, Aleksai continues to climb the Tower as part of Shibisu's 2nd Floor graduation team, and supports them on whatever mission they come across.
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: He shows up in Season 2 with a much lighter skin tone, indicating he possibly was tanned or there was a coloring error.
* TheBerserker: According to other Regulars, during the first test he furiously attacked anyone that came close.
* TheDreaded: He made a name for himself as a dangerous Regular that mercilessly attacked anyone he came across in the first test to the point that people were amazed Aleksai was able to find two people crazy enough to make a 3-person-team with him.
* GoodOldFisticuffs: Although a spear bearer, he's very proficient in this as well.
* OutOfFocus: Compared to his other teammates on Team Shibisu, he hasn't had much to do in Season 2. His primary [[ADayInTheLimelight day-in-the-limelight]] moment was sadly getting [[TheWorfEffect worfed]] by Viole in close-combat duel.
* TheQuietOne: Rarely speaks, even with friends around.
* TheRival: To Rak as a fellow spear bearer. They get into a hit-the-target duel as training for the final 2nd Floor test.
* SuperStrength: Able to punch huge holes in the ground.
* TheTeam

--> '''Team Shibisu:''' Aleksai, Lauroe, Anaak, Shibisu, Endorsi, Hatz, Vespa, and Verdi.
* WingedHumanoid: His devil wings. WordOfGod says they're removable.
* TheWorfEffect:
** In Season 1, he's built up to be TheDreaded due to his efforts in the initial survival test. However, he gets disposed of by Quant quite easily during the Hide-And-Seek test. In his defense though, Quant was mostly acting as a StealthMentor here to teach Aleksai that relying on strength alone isn't going to get him far in the Tower.
** In Season 2, he gets knocked out in one hit during ''One Shot, One Opportunity'' in order to show off the power of Viole's thorn. As a result, he's [[PutOnTheBus out cold]] throughout the rest of the Workshop Battle.
* WrongLineOfWork: Despite being chosen as a [[LongRangeFighter Spear Bearer]] on the 2nd Floor, Amigochaz has a tendency to [[LeeroyJenkins rush forward]] and attack up close with brute strength. Quant attempts to stress the idea that relying on strength alone will soon fail him but, even in Season 2, Team Shibisu tends to use him as a tertiary [[CloseRangeCombatant Fisherman]] (when Endorsi/Anak aren't around) rather than a Spear Bearer.

\
An Anima Regular who controls a large pet octopus, and one of two recruits of Shibisu's new team. Verdi has a peculiar fetish where she likes to turn people she fancies into "dolls."
----
* BadassAdorable: If her actions during ''One Shot, One Opportunity'' speak anything, she was able to solo an entire group of Regulars on her own.
* TheBeastmaster: As an Anima Regular. Her primary pet being an octopus.
* BodyguardCrush: Verdi starts crushing on Prince after seeing how far he will go to bring Miseng back to normal in the Workshop's ''Battle x Gamble'' round.
* CreepyChild: There's definitely something not right with this one... especially regarding her "doll" fetish.
* CurbStompBattle: Yeo Miseng and Prince never stood a chance.
* FightUnscene: She captures Miseng and Prince off-screen during the One Shot, One Opportunity game.
* GirlishPigtails: Self-explanatory.
* LivingDollCollector: Wishes to turn anyone she has interest in into a doll.
* PowerParasite: Her octopus has the ability to temporarily seal another person's special abilities.
* SatelliteCharacter: Apart from being a creepy Anima kid that wants to turn people into dolls, the reader never learns anything about Verdi. Most just know her as the octopus girl in Shibisu's season 2 team.
* ShipperOnDeck: She's a major supporter of Miseng x Prince to the point of wanting to force a marriage on them.
* {{Sizeshifter}}: Her octopus can change its size.

----
* AmbiguousGender: It's not confirmed yet if Vespa is a male or female.
* BeamSpam: Can fire gold beams of shinsu.
* BeePeople: A bee-themed humanoid.
* CarryingTheAntidote: The antidote to his needles' poison is the honey in the pot Vespa carries around.
* CloseRangeCombatant: Fights up close with her bee-stinger-shaped spear.
* FightUnscene: Vespa defeating Bundawan during the Workshop Battle was never seen.
* {{Flight}}: Able to fly.
* MasterPoisoner: Vespa's needles are coated in a poison that can kill within 5 minutes.
* SatelliteCharacter: Similar to Verdi, Vespa doesn't have any character depth apart from being that new bee-person in Shibisu's season 2 team.
* SmugSuper: Vespa’s shown to be very arrogant about [[SuperSpeed how fast they can fly]], claiming that no Regular can surpass their speed.
* TheSwarm: Going along with the bee theme, Vespa also has miniature needles that fly around; some for firing beams of shinsu, and some for poisoning.

[[folder:As a Whole]]
* FamilyOfChoice: Combined with FireForgedFriends. The challenges they face while treading up the Tower strengthened their bonds and gave them all a close-knit group to rely on. This especially with Viole, as his interactions with Sweet and Sour help him regain his humanity and trust in others.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: They all come from different walks of life, with very different skillsets, and they didn't properly meet each other until they decided to take the 20th Floor test. Regardless, they're eventually forced to team up to proceed with the test, but come into their own.

!!!'''Voiced by:''' Creator/YuumaUchida (Japanese)
[[quoteright:297:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wangnan.png]]
->''I know that the only difference between the ones who went up and me lies in whether I give up or not.''
\
The point-of-view character for the first plot arc of season 2. While by no means weak, his dreams of being King of the Tower are far beyond his current capabilities. He's also running away from loan sharks and is a bit of a coward with a good heart. Wangnan manages to trick Viole into forming a team with him and just like long ago with Bam and Rak, it stuck.

The two lived together with Yeon, Kang Horyang, Goseng, Miseng, Prince and Akraptor during the early portions of season 2 until a trap laid out by FUG at the 28th Floor's Hand of Arlen forced Viole and Horyang to depart from the group. In order to get Viole back, Wangnan joins forces with Khun to participate in the Workshop Battle. While Khun was the overall gambler leader, Wangnan served as the starting Vanguard for the tournament.

Following Bam's departure to make a new Hell Train team, the remainder of Wangnan's Sweet and Sour team chases after Beniamino Cassano on the Hell Train in order to retrieve the comatose Horyang's stolen ignition weapon in the hopes that returning it will reawaken Horyang. Sweet and Sour eventually reunites with Bam's group, and take part in the Dallar Show against Rachel and Hoaqin's team, but separate once more so that Wangnan's team can continue the chase after Cassano while Bam's group completes the Name Hunt Station mission in order to reach the forbidden 43rd Floor.

----
* ActionSurvivor: At first glance, he does not seem to possess any special powers to help explain why he's still upright and breathing while struggling to climb the Tower... Unlike 90% of the cast. However, from his introduction onwards, there are subtle hints that he has a HealingFactor well beyond what he should have to help him out, relatively dismal attack or defence abilities notwithstanding.
* BigEater: Kind of: he loves buying in bulk for group celebrations and will propose them at the drop of a hat. However, he also ''does'' eat a fair amount for his size.
* ButtMonkey: Starts as this. As we get a better idea of his determination and bounce-back-ability, he turns into a high-functioning IronButtMonkey who can guile his way out of some of the pain the Tower seems to enjoy throwing his way.
* CharacterDevelopment: Wangnan becomes much more determined to help those he cares about after seeing how far Viole will go to protect his Floor of Test friends from FUG. Losing Nia also contributed to this.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Gold, [[spoiler:just like his father Jahad and brother Karaka.]]
* CuteLittleFangs: How pronounced they are varies from panel to panel.
* {{Determinator}}: The one thing Wangnan can pride himself on is his inability to quit. Even Khun acknowledges that this is Wangnan's greatest strength:
--> "The difference between those up there and me is the question of whether you have given up or not."
* DubNameChange: In the Japanese translation, Wangnan's name is changed to "Ouji Naru" (eastern order), in order to preserve the pun in his original name.
* FirstPersonPeripheralNarrator: Starts as this for Viole. Later develops into a SupportingProtagonist.
* FreakOut: When [[spoiler:Nia dies.]] He goes hysterical after waking up from a nightmare [[spoiler:due to the deaths of Akraptor and Prince.]]
* GuileHero: Uses some really dirty tactics to win, most notably switching his connector with Viole's in order for the team to pass the exam.
* HealingFactor: In his backstory, he bounced back relatively quickly (and with no visible scarring) from being burned to a crisp by Ms "TotalPartyKill" Yeon. And, this was no fluke. Time and again, he heals up from major physical exertion or fairly painful injury almost ''overnight'' without anything more involved than big meals and self-applied first aid. Yet, he ''never'' draws attention to this. [[spoiler:When he gets his arm sliced to the bone badly enough to make it very clear major damage has been done... he's still got the hand a month later. Heavily bandaged, sure, but he's neither lost it, nor seems to have lost the use of it -- he holds it up and swivels it. Not bad.]]
* TheHeart: Considered the glue that keeps Sweet and Sour together. While the team didn't rely on him before, the moments where he shows how much he cares about each member endeared him to them.
* HeroicBastard: [[spoiler:His title of "The Prince of the Red-light District" is so named for the fact that he's ''Jahad'''s blood son, born to a prostitute. His ring is proof of this.]]
* HeroicSafeMode: Immediately following his FreakOut.
* HiddenDepths: He is both resourceful and determined. And, can tank major injury, even though it hurts like hell and does cause damage.
** More notable is the fact that he knows a lot about the Jahad Family and their contracts with the Guardians, information usually only known by members of the 10 Families.
** He also knows things about Irregulars even Family members like Yeon and Khun don't. And, he beats Floor Admins, too. This is very rare stuff, but he knows it.
** According to Hwaryun, he is Jahad and the 10 Family Heads' biggest mistake.
* HornedHumanoid: Has two small horns on the back of his neck.
* IfYouKillHimYouWillBeJustLikeHim: His reason for not killing [[spoiler:Lurker]] was to avoid becoming a hypocrite. Since on his climb of the Tower, he will have to kill countless people, killing [[spoiler:Lurker for Nia's death]] is pure hypocrisy and makes him no better than [[spoiler:Lurker.]]
* IndyPloy: In general. [[spoiler:And that's his explicitly confirmed modus operandi for bringing Viole into his team.]]
* LongLostRelative: [[spoiler:Is heavily implied to be Karaka's brother.]]
* LoveAtFirstSight: He had a bit of a crush on Nia when he first met him on a delivery run. This carries over into their later interactions, with even him listing Nia as "My beloved Nia~♥♥" on his contacts. Granted, this was because he wasn't aware that [[DudeLooksLikeALady Nia was a guy]] at the time.
* MagneticHero: He has an uncanny ability to befriend people, even those who would otherwise kill him, such as Ha Jinsung. Even Khun notes he has natural leadership qualities and the ability to bring together a group of unlikely regulars into a functional team.
* ManlyTears: After [[spoiler:Nia dies.]] Even more so after [[spoiler:Akraptor dies right before his very eyes.]]
* MadeOfIron: He complains like crazy over every little bump and bruise (yet goes remarkably quiet over major injury he's chosen to throw himself at), ''visibly'' (if not ostentatiously) avoids getting hurt as much as possible and bleeds like an absolute champion when he does get hit. However, he's always ready to take up ButtMonkey duty again the next day (and after a big meal) as if nothing happened...
** Played for Drama in his backstory. Since he's the only one that had a chance of surviving powerful attacks and obstacles, it only made him more guilty for having his old teammates due on him and wishing he'd been the unlucky one instead.
* MeaningfulName: Ja Wangnan, in Korean, is backwards for ''nan wang ja'', or "[[spoiler:I am a prince]]", hinting at his heritage. His Japanese name Ouji Naru is much the same, as it means "[[spoiler:to become a prince]]".
* NiceGuy: Seems to be a JerkWithAHeartOfGold at first, but quickly becomes this instead.
* OlderThanTheyLook: [=SiU=] is on record for saying Wangnan is actually ''quite'' old. [[spoiler:Old enough to be Karaka's brother at least.]]
* {{Revenge}}: He considers it King Jahad's fault his foster mother died, and is one of the many people that wants King Jahad dead.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Embarked on one after [[spoiler:finding Nia dead.]] Ultimately [[spoiler:subverted. Even though he wanted to kill Lurker, he couldn't bring himself to do it.]]
* ShoutOut: Wangnan's style of fighting is ''very'' similar to that of a Franchise/{{Pokemon}} trainer, at least in the sense that he's not very powerful himself, sets strategies for his more capable teammates, and uses capsules that look a lot like Pokeballs.
* TheSocialExpert: He may be a bit of a dork, but he is truly good around people. Wangnan is really only happy when he's in a group, so he puts work into being TheHeart in a ClassClown kind of way. His most miserable time on-screen was when we first met him abandoned and alone on Floor 20.
* SpannerInTheWorks: In the finale of Part 2, he manages not only to [[spoiler:thwart Lurker's plans]] but also [[spoiler:conclude a duel between Viole and Love.]]
* StockShonenHero: According to SIU, Wangnan subverts this archetype: He is legitimately a MagneticHero capable of gathering a large number of close comrades with his genuine personality; a top-tier {{Determinator}} who can take [[IronButtMonkey a beating]] like a champ; an energetic young man with [[LeaderWannabe lofty goals]] that he seems ill-equipped to accomplish; [[spoiler:and someone ConnectedAllAlong to the main antagonist.]] However, Wangnan's an ActionSurvivor ''at best'' and has yet to unlock any hidden potential InTheBlood outside of a slight HealingFactor.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: [[spoiler:He looks remarkably like Jahad, especially in the latter's youth.]]
* SurvivorsGuilt: Thanks to his HealingFactor, he's survived things that have killed previous companions. He's lost a lot of people climbing the Tower. His nightmares [[spoiler:after Akraptor and Prince die]] show a massive crowd of people he used to know, and he blames himself for their deaths.

Miseng is a Regular Wangnan and Bam met during the first part of the 20th Floor test. Wangnan's resolve to attack the next person was crushed by her being utterly adorable (and wearing a school girl's uniform). Following the formation of Sweet and Sour, Miseng climbs the Tower with the team, and helps chase after Cassano on the Hell Train.

----
* CharacterDevelopment: Miseng goes through the ShesAllGrownUp route as the series goes along. By the time of the Hell Train, she starts acting like more of a grown adult now being able to do things on her own.
* ChildProdigy: Smart enough to dominate a card game played with adults.
* DamselInDistress: She has a tendency to be kidnapped or taken as a hostage.
* KillerRabbit: In Shinsu Strengthening Test she came just below Wangnan, and above Goseng and Yoghurt Lady. She must be quite capable for reaching the 20th Floor in the first place, but her abilities remain unknown.
* TheLoad: Sweet and Sour still loves her, but Miseng is one of the weakest links of the team. She actually mentions this during the Workshop saga, where she agrees to be the guinea pig for the Doll Maker's power granting accessory because she's tired of only being protected.
* ShesAllGrownUp: She's still got some growing to do of course, but Miseng has noticeably matured by the time she reappears during the Hell Train chapters.
* ShipperOnDeck: Alongside Prince, the two of them are major supporters of Goseng x Horyang.
* TheTeam

* TokenMiniMoe: Combined with TagalongKid. Of all the [[DistinctiveAppearances character designs]] SIU has thought up, after 82 chapters and more than fifty characters, he has an adorable little girl. Since reappearing during the Hell Train chapters, though, ShesAllGrownUp. That said, she still wears outfits reminiscent of her TokenMiniMoe roots.
* TookALevelInBadass: Her much-improved Scout skills allowed her to quickly determine [[EnergyBeing Mirotic]] [[MightyGlacier guardian]]'s AchillesHeel, allowing for its swift defeat.

The last addition to the survival game. Akraptor acts like a very smart and very ruthless person and thinks more about instantaneous advantages than long-time pay-offs. However, it turns out that Akraptor also has a kindness to him, and looks after Miseng as if she was his own daughter after failing to protect his own child at some point in the past. He's got short silver hair and fights with an umbrella capable of shooting Shinsu beams.

----
* AntiHero: Most likely type III.

* CombatPragmatist: Despite the clear threat of Viole he still takes the chance to "accidentally" aim at Horyang while the two are fighting.
* DareToBeBadass:
** Shortly after his introduction he enters MeleeATrois with [[spoiler:Viole and Horyang]]. He manages to keep pace with them, for a while at least.
** What's more, he doesn't crumple facing Urek, even though he knew exactly how out of his league he was going in. (Well, not quite: he knew he was toast, just not who was grilling.)
* FaceOfAThug: A milder case than most, but still.
* ForbiddenLove: He had one with the daughter of one of the ten great families. They ran away to avoid the prying eyes of her relatives, got married and had a child together. In the end, her family found them and took his wife and daughter away. He hasn't completely given up on seeing them again but knows how difficult it'll be and doubts he'll be able to do much if he ever does find them again.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:He forces Rachel to kill him so that Wangnan would be the one who lives. It's hinted that he very much had worked something important out about Wangnan he deemed way too important for that arm of FUG to learn about right then should Rachel both try and fail to kill the guy.]]
* HiddenDepths: [[PapaWolf His attitude towards Miseng.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Votes to drop Miseng out of the team. As it turns out, he [[spoiler:wanted her to be safe]].
* MagicKnight: Bonus points for using a lance.
* TheNicknamer: Responsible for Horyang becoming "Teddy".
* PapaWolf: Acts like this towards Miseng, and will extend it to include others in the group when they feel immature and fragile.
%%* ParasolOfPain: His .
* TeamDad: Along with his fondness for Miseng, he also serves as Prince's role model as they go up floors, and gives out advice and encouragement to Wangnan when needed. Justified as he ''was'' a father at one point.
* TheTeam:

--> '''Cassano Pursuit Team:''' Akraptor, Wangnan, Prince, and Miseng.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Subverted, despite his FaceOfAThug and apparent callousness at first.
* TookALevelInBadass: One year after season 2 has seen Akraptor's power increases to the point that the beams he used to shoot from his spear/parasol have become large lasers worthy of {{Kamehamehadoken}}: Meets Mary Poppins.
* TragicKeepsake: His earring is actually his engagement ring. Although it's implied that his wife and child are still alive, it serves as his only reminder of them after they were forcibly taken away from him and serves as his only clue to finding them again.
* YouRemindMeOfX: Miseng reminds him of his daughter, which is why he wanted to get her safely out of the game.

A gargantuan Regular who entered the survival match, but took up Ja Wangnan's peace offer. He crushes hard on Goseng so that it is virtually impossible for Wangnan to beat anybody up. Horyang fights using an odd-colored iconographic wing that appears floating above his right shoulder, focusing his abilities in specific areas -- a blue shield enhancing his defense, a winged boot to enhance his speed, a giant red fist to enhance his strength, and so on. Said powers are because Horyang is actually a normal kid that had been turned into a Living Ignition Weapon; having half of a devil combined with his body through experiments that were done to him by Workshop when he was a child.

Like the other Regulars in the group, Horyang became a part of the Sweet and Sour team after its formation, and traveled with them up to the Workshop Battle. However, Horyang entered the Tower to search for Cassano, the true Devil of the Right Arm.

----
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He is nicknamed "Teddy", and it fits. However, you don't want to get on his bad side, as he is both an extremely ferocious and skilled combatant.
* TheBigGuy: For season 2's Sweet and Sour Team.
* BewareTheQuietOnes: He is usually calm and collected, but when he is forced to fight he shows just how capable he is. Shortly after his introduction he enters MeleeATrois with [[spoiler:Viole and Akraptor]]. He manages to keep pace with them.
* BroughtDownToNormal: [[spoiler:Cassano steals his demon half after the Workshop Battle, leaving him depowered and in a coma.]]
* BruiserWithASoftCenter: Huge, dark and intimidating. Possibly the most good-natured person of his team after [[spoiler:Bam.]]
* CannotTellALie: He cannot lie, deceive, withhold the truth (mostly due to his floating wing) and doesn't need or want to.
* DubNameChange: The Japanese translation of the comic changes his name to "Kousuke".
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: Has an enormous crush on Goseng. Which his wing advertises spectacularly (and rather helpfully) with hearts.
* GentleGiant: Though his gentleness has its limits.

* IAmNotLeftHanded: When he decides to [[spoiler:unleash his 'devil' mode]].

* KungFuWizard: Mainly uses shinsu enhancement to boost his fighting ability.
* LetsGetDangerous: [[spoiler:Nya's death]] and Wangnan's subsequent breakdown was too much for him.
* LightningBruiser: Switches to this when using his winged-shoe mode.
* TheMedic: He also has a first aid mode to his abilities. Advertised with a green cross. [[{{Expy}} He's definitely a [=CoDzilla=] in the Druidic mold, particularly if you consider his wing a bonded summon.]]
* MightyGlacier: Switches to this using his shield mode.
* OneWingedAngel: When he ignites his arm, which he rarely does in combat, it massively increases his power. He also literally has one wing.
* PhlebotinumRebel: How he got [[spoiler:the devil.]]
* PlayingWithSyringes: His origin story. [[spoiler:He was raised in a Workshop lab where they experimented on him to make him a living ignition weapon.]]
* PreAsskickingOneLiner: "Friend. Have you seen [[spoiler:the Devil?"]]
* PowerLimiter: [[spoiler:His bandages]] seem to be this. Technically, his wing can be seen as both a booster ''and'' a limiter. [[spoiler:Almost all the Weapons are convinced they cannot grow beyond a certain point, no matter how high they climb: they believe themselves restricted by more than the usual Laws of the Tower, thanks to the Law of Diminishing Returns.]]
* PutOnABus: Due to [[spoiler:Cassano taking his half of his Living Ignition Weapon devil, Horyang ends up in a coma in the closing portions of the Workshop Battle.]]
* TheQuietOne: Does not waste words.
* SwissArmySuperpower: The mark on his back can be used for defence (Strong Shield), attack (Red Fist, Flaming Fist), speed (Boot) and healing (Cross) among other uses, [[spoiler:as well as his "Devil of the Right Arm," which seems to be his strongest power.]]
* TheStoic: Usually, extremely calm and collected.

* OutGambitted: [[spoiler:Lurker]] assumed that he would KickTheDog and factored it into his plan.

If I wasn't born to become a heroine from the beginning, all I need is people who would send me to the top of the Tower in this awful darkness.... All I need to do is find them.''
\
Bam's first and best friend who freed him from a dark prison, but then decides to leave him to search for a starry sky to overcome her fear of the night. Due to her injuries, she's forced to get by through the words she speaks, whether it be using the truth or through lies. Rachel is also an Irregular but was not chosen by the Tower, sneaking in due to Bam forcing the door open right below her.

In Season 1, Rachel goes by the moniker of Michelle Light to evade Bam after realizing that the two of them are in the same test group. However, they're eventually forced to reunite after her legs had become crippled. To continue being with Rachel, Bam decides to become her legs to help her climb the Tower. In the end, Rachel betrays Bam by showing that her legs are fine and pushes him into the dark abyss as she goes on to complete the final 2nd Floor test with everyone else.

Season 2 has Rachel continues to climb the Tower, and manages to escape Khun's watch. She then forms a new team of her own and boards the Hell Train in order to gain a powerful ally in White. Rachel then journeys to the 43rd Floor of Death in order and convinces Wangnan to join her group after his Sweet and Sour team failed in taking away one of her teammates.

On the Floor of Death, Rachel manages to get away from Karaka in order to reach Bam, but is unable to convince him to run away after Bam tells her that he needs to continue going forward. Despite that, Bam allows Rachel to take part in the test that will provide the location of the Thorn, but she is poisoned and knocked out. However, Bam makes a deal with Poe Bidau Gustang to have her healed.
----
* AntiHero: The author's blog says that she's one of these. She is certainly one of the most ruthless characters.
* ArchEnemy: To Khun and Endorsi, who both hate her for her manipulative nature and past relationship with Bam.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Attempts to kill Bam by pushing him into dark waters to be eaten, and has continued keeping up the act of being a helpless damsel in front of Aguero for five years afterward. [[IKnowYouKnowIKnow And he knew, and she knew he knew; she was only keeping up the act so he wouldn't know she knew he knew and so when the time came she could stab him in the back first.]]
* CallToAdventure: Once upon a time, a girl somehow found a cave, opened it and made friends with the boy she found inside it. Plot ensues.
* CantCatchUp: Her manipulation skills are top-notch, but her over-reliance on having [[CrutchCharacter strong allies]] to do the dirty work means many of her own skills don't grow as fast as they could, leading to Aguero outperforming her as a Light Bearer when they face each other in the Hell Train arc.
* ClassicalAntiHero: Her ''real'' introduction at the end of the first volume is devoted specifically to showing her lack of classical heroic qualities, and she turned out to be a ClassicVillain.
* CoolTeacher: For all her faults, she's actually pretty good at teaching when she puts her mind to it. Just ask Bam, who still thinks what she did for him was pretty cool, ulterior motives or not.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Yellow hair, yellow eyes.
* DamselInDistress: After getting stabbed by Hoh. However, [[DeliberatelyDistressedDamsel she’s faking it.]]
* {{Deuteragonist}}: This story is as much about Rachel as it is about Bam, despite how much she wants sole focus.
* DirtyCoward: Too scared to face her opponents or even kill them (except for Akraptor) as she will have other people do it for her so she can proceed.
* TheDulcineaEffect: She's Bam's Dulcinea, and the trope starts out playing as straight as they come. What started out simple gets deconstructed like you wouldn't believe. Rachel is very good at playing Dulcinea, but she's a lot more [[ToxicFriendInfluence toxic]] than she is innocent, and uses her resulting {{Wounded Gazelle Gambit}}s for her own reasons on just about everybody. Bam was never ''entirely'' fooled by her, but his relationship was too important for him to make a fuss about the details for a very long time. And, it is justified in that she was the first person he can remember having any relationship with. This ain't healthy on many, many counts. Including for her world view and mental health, let alone his. Or, anybody else's.
* EntitledBastard: When Jahad's forces take Rachel and some of Bam's companions as hostages, Endorsi rescues Bam's companions while leaving Rachel's behind. Despite everything she herself has done, ''[[{{Hypocrite}} including]]'' escaping traps intended to kill Bam's companions and leaving them to die, Rachel feels outrage that Endorsi didn't rescue her too.
* EvilCounterpart: To Aguero. Both are lighthouse users who are skilled at manipulating others, and both are/were friends with Bam. However, Aguero learns to respect his allies enough to get his hands dirty to work alongside them and even grows to care for them enough to let them strike out more-or-less on their own in a widespread network of interconnections he can call on; while Rachel mostly sees her allies as tools to get her up the Tower, so she can easily completely dump them the minute they become less effective.
* EvilCripple: Rachel seems like this, betraying and manipulating everyone to help herself, but as it turns out she's just faking being a cripple to gain this sympathy and help herself more.
* FaceHeelTurn: While there's evidence suggesting she was a ManipulativeBitch even when she met Bam, she did sincerely care for him. The combination of Bam being TheChosenOne and her being manipulated by Headon turned her away from that. However, while this was her FaceHeelTurn chronologically, in story, she's presented as taking this when she pushes Bam into the lake.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: After her true colors are revealed, Rachel is featured in many teams that don't think highly of her as a person or are close to her at all. The only carryover from any of those lineups that cared for her was Yura.
* GuardianEntity: [[spoiler:Poe Bidau Gustang leaves her with a gift, a ferocious invisible beast who protected her until he obtained the items he wanted from the Hell Train.]]
* GreenEyedMonster: Is extremely jealous of Bam's status as [[TheChosenOne The Chosen One]], and it was that jealousy that made her want to climb the Tower herself instead of letting Bam have all the glory.
** Anybody she deems more good-looking, luckier, better loved, undeservingly skilled, or enjoying more popularity than her will be despised. Especially if a Princess. Doubly especially if Endorsi. The only way to be pretty, female and not on Rachel's list of contempt is... to both have a hard-luck story that involves a thirst for revenge and to prove you'll do anything for Rachel to get it.
* HeroAntagonist: Another possible angle. Sure, she could be somewhat delusional in her goals and her behavior is far from nice, but they directly connect in many ways with those the Zarhard batch of Irregulars seem to have had when they were climbing. And, they are considered heros, however much the reader may agree or disagree with the outcome. ''Bam and company'' are the really odd ducks, by current Tower standards. So, the friction between Rachel and Bam could be seen as more clashing cultural interpretations of appropriate forms of heroism than a simple case of hero vs villain. But, of the two sides, Rachel is definitely down in the darker shades of morally grey by readers' standards.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: She certainly sees herself as the heroine of, at the very least, her own tale. She wants to make it the main one, however. But, as we mainly get to see things from Bam and company's side, we've pretty much only got her word on that. See below.
* HeroKiller: [[spoiler:In Season 2 Ep 227, she kills Akraptor while Wangnan is held hostage by Yura.]]
* HiddenAgendaVillain: It's implied she knows a lot more about Bam's past than anyone else, and about Arlen Grace as well, but aside her ambitions to reach the top it's unknown what's on her mind.
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: Her main motive. She wants to be the heroine of the story, and will attempt to jam herself into that position by any means necessary. She even tries to get rid of her original body and replace it with a completely different one generated from her idealized self.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: At first, she envied Bam for being a MagneticHero, though she later settles for forming friendless alliances as the next best thing.
* IKnowYouKnowIKnow: Was caught in a loop of this with Aguero for a while; he knows she's faking her illness and spies on her with his Lighthouse, but she knows his team is a fence to trap her because she spies on him with her Lighthouse. And, so on and so forth. As of this writing, everyone seems to know what everyone else knows about what they know, so this trope may no longer be in place. But, that could change.
* IncompletelyTrained: As an Irregular, she has an astronomical growth potential and other perks that come from not being bound by Tower's rules. When Androssi saw her for the first time, she got immediatelly intimitaded into an alliance. Yet, she relies solely on her unnatural charisma and luck, and her Shinsu skills severely lag behind the Regulars.
* ImmuneToFate: Part of the Irregular package. Which plays a major part in ''completely'' messing with Hwa's ability to guide Bam through the Hell Train arc, although there are a few hints that misleading her goes back much further than that. There are unknowns about how much Rachel knows about her own "skill", and how much various people within FUG do.
* {{Irony}}: Given her and Bams' interlocking skill-sets, they'd be a pretty unstoppable, hard-to-manipulate, Wave Controller-Lighthouse Keeper and Irregular core to any Tower-shaking team. Shame she can't see that, due to wanting to be the I in Team. She practically hands the awesome over to Aguero, and ensures that everybody dances on others' strings.
* ItGetsEasier: Invoked. She's shaken after killing Akraptor with her own hands, but she tells herself that she'll have to get used to it.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Unsatisifed with Bam being TheChosenOne, she decides to focribily steal his role and friends to herself, unsuccessfully. Throughout the story she complains about not getting things she desrves, despite not putting effort to earn them, and is outraged when people don't want to help her.
* LightIsNotGood: Has light skin, light blonde hair, uses a pseudonym of Michelle Light, and is a Light Bearer. Although her role as a villain isn't clear, she's still considered an antagonist to Bam is willing to use whatever (and whoever) she can to climb the Tower.
* ManipulativeBitch: She is; particularly where Bam is concerned. However, Khun has generally seen through her ruses. [[spoiler: Unfortunately, he hasn’t spotted ''all'' of them.]]
* MeaningfulName: According to the author's blog, her name was chosen because "In Sherlock Holmes, there is a reference to the word Rache(Rah-he) that means revenge in German."
* MutualEnvy: Princess Endorsi Jahad is jealous of Rachel over how dedicated Bam is towards her and would gladly give up her princess privileges to be with him. On the opposite side, Rachel is jealous of Endorsi for being a beautiful princess like a fairytale heroine, while her feelings towards Bam are mixed at best and consist largely of envy.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Downplayed and possibly subverted. She's shaken by how she killed [[spoiler:Akraptor]] and got blood on her hands, but it's implied that [[DirtyCoward she's merely too scared or nervous to do the deed herself easily]], since she has no issue with her comrades killing others -- however, she still battles with the realisation that not all on Bam's team may be as easily or lightly throw-away as she thought before rationalizing it within her "Tower Tale" framework.
* {{Narcissist}}: She believes that everything belongs to her, as she tosses everyone who is no longer useful to her aside, especially Bam. And complains when nothing goes her way, as she believes that she can do nothing wrong.
* NeverMyFault: Every time something goes wrong especially if she causes it, she blames Bam or anyone else as she can't understand that she doesn't work for anything that she wants and relies on others to do her dirty work.
* NonActionBigBad: Invoked and played with (what her ultimate role as an antagonist actually is far from clear). While she does have very solid Lighthouse abilities from the start of her climb, she admits that she'd rather just rely on stronger teammates to rise to the top.
* NonPOVProtagonist: For a character who's hardly ever on-screen, she provides a lot of fuel for the story, as well as prodding a great deal of the main cast into moving in various important directions. Both deliberately and accidentally; positive and negative.
* PsychoticSmirk: Shows one after she detonates a bomb in [[spoiler:Khun]]'s heart, gloating about how she wanted to kill him with her own hands at the worst possible moment for him.
* RidiculouslyAverageGuy: Comes across as this. Except for her being able to use and endure Shinsu… like, well... ''everybody else''. She's a quick study, however, to get as good with lightboxes as fast as she does. Like Bam, she starts knowing very little about basic aspects of the Tower, and it puts her at a disadvantage.
* {{Sadist}}: Laughs at betraying Bam and lying to the others on what happened to him.
* SecretIdentity: Goes under the name of Michelle Light for a while.
* SexierAlterEgo: Invoked during the Hidden Floor arc. Her Hidden Floor avatar, Icarus, was deliberately crafted to be more powerful and beautiful than her current drab appearance.
* SmugSnake: Gleefully prances about her room when she thinks no one’s looking, and has given “there’s no way you could understand my motivation” rants before.
* TheRival: From Season 2 she and Bam have been ascending the Tower nearly in parallel and have confronted each other many times.
* TheTeam:
--> '''Crown Game Team:''' Rachel, Endorsi, and Ghost.
--> '''Hide-and-Seek Team B:''' Michelle Light (Rachel), Bam, Endorsi, Hatz, Hoh, Serena, Shopin, Chunhwa, Death Ryan, Mauchi, Paracule, Levin, Full Black, and Grey.
--> '''Submerged Fish Hunt Team:''' Rachel, Bam, Khun, Rak, Endorsi, Anaak, Shibisu, Lauroe, Hatz, Aleksai, Blarouse, Chunhwa, Sunwoo, Levin, Paracule, and Ghost.
--> '''Khun's Original Season 2 Team:''' Rachel, Khun, Ran, Nobic, Dan, Gyetang, Apple, and Michael.
--> '''Rachel's Hell Train Dallar Show Team:''' Rachel, Hoaqin (White), Yura, Daniel, Raguel, Buelsar, Cassano, Traveller and Anna.
--> '''Rachel's 43rd Floor Expedition Team:''' Rachel, Hoaqin (White), Yura, Cassano, and Traveller.
--> '''Rachel's 43rd Floor Team:''' Rachel, Hoaqin (White), Yura, Traveller, Wangnan, and Miseng.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Rachel is the Tomboy, as described by Bam to Black March, to Girly Girl idol-singer Yura, who also happens to be the closest thing Rachel has to a friend.
* TheUnchosenOne: Rareish anti-villainous (or whatever) example; kicking herself into a, if not ''the'', protagonist role via ScrewDestiny seems to be what motivates her entire plot arc. Headon basically seemed to promise her a way to become Unchosen, but... it remains to be seen if she can manage that. For now, she's a Wannabe with a very good shot. However, please note: if she hadn't tried to hijack Bam's ChosenOne status in the first place, [[MissedTheCall he'd still be stuck in that cave]], bored out of his gourd ''and'' left not knowing enough to know that getting out was even possible. Additionally, she knows about Bam's role as [[spoiler:Arlene Grace's child who will gain Enryu's Thorn and change the tower]], but she still wants to take that role for herself.
* WalkingSpoiler: In fact, even the fact that she ''can'' walk is a spoiler!
* WeCanRuleTogether: Once she discovers Wangnan [[spoiler:has the same ring as Karaka and that he's the Prince of the Red-Light District]], she asks him to team up with her in exchange for sparing Miseng and getting Cassano to return Horyang's half of their devil[[spoiler:, which he reluctantly and grudgingly accepts -- not just for Horyang's sake, but Miseng and Cassano's, too. Oh, and [[KeepingTheEnemyClose for a chance at Rachel]]: [[IKnowYouKnowIKnow she's cool with it]].]]
* WoundedGazelleGambit: Pretends that her injury makes her unable to walk to manipulate others into helping her.
* YouthfulFreckles: Sports them along her nose. It's implied that the freckles are supposed to make her look ugly, as she rids herself of them for her "Icarus" avatar.

-->--'''Yu Hansung'''
\
A huge, mysterious hulking monster of unknown origin; he kept Rak in check during the Crown Game, immediately passed the Spear Bearer's exam, and slaughtered everybody except Rachel and Endorsi in the preliminaries.
----
%%* TheBigGuy: For the Endorsi, Rachel, Ghost team.
* BlackKnight: A giant with black armor.
* BloodKnight: Kills for the sake of killing. [[spoiler:In actuality, it was assisting Rachel to make it through the first tests]].
* CurbStompBattle: In the first test on the Second Floor, he and Endorsi killed 297 other Regulars within 30 minutes.
* HeWhoMustNotBeHeard: It's originally unclear if he can speak at all, though he does have an incredibly creepy laugh. It takes until Season 3 for Ghost to finally [[WhamLine speak]].
-->'''Ghost:''' [[spoiler:[[Characters/TowerOfGodTwentyFifthBam You've]] gotten... much... stronger... but... not... strong... enough... to fight... Jahad.]]
* MeaningfulName: His Korean name "Ahkryeong" means "evil/malicious spirit".
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: See above.
* OneManArmy: Nothing could stand up to it in the initial survival round.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Ghost disappears after the Floor of Tests saga. [[spoiler:He finally reappears in volume three.]]

Rachel promised me...that if I get up the Tower with her... she'll let me see the real stars. I don't want to live a life where I'm swayed by a bunch of stupid morons anymore.''
\
A popular D-Rank Regular of the Ha family who performs concerts as an idol singer. She's actually a part of Rachel's group, and boards the Hell Train to keep Bam from running into her. Yura's team faces off against Bam's team during the Train City tournament.

Following the Hell Train's Dallar Show, Yura is one of the remaining Regulars still a part of Rachel's group as they make their way to the forbidden 43rd Floor.
----
* ArcVillainess: For Bam's team during the Train City tournament where she basically works to stall him. Yura goes to maximum effort to make sure that Bam doesn't make it to the Hell Train in order to catch up to Rachel.
* BlackSheep: A lesser variant. WordOfGod has noted her to be a "weirdo" of the Ha Family, having skills outside her family's muscle power and, although her spec is good, it isn't like the original Ha Family style, like [[LightningBruiser Yuri's]] for example. Her mother's backstory also shows that Yura is visually distinct from other Ha members, as she lacks their brown hair and eyes (the blue is inherited from her father).
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: When Bam angrily chastises her for nearly killing her fan, she basically mentions that her fans are expendable.
* CoolShades: Black sunglasses.
* DarkActionGirl: Shows off her superiority in shinsu usage in a one-on-one bet against Bam. [[spoiler:Then we find out that her shinsu mastery is only because she's carrying a support item that boosts her Shinsu resistance. Her true combat capability is thus still unknown.]]
* TheDreaded: Her family name puts a lot of people on edge, which is part of the reason she was able to create a team so easily.
* EverythingsBetterWithSparkles: Heck, even her eyes sparkle. [[spoiler:This turns out to be a genetic trait of the cursed clan she half-descends from.]]
* IdolSinger: Her former profession. Though she appears to have quit the job in order to board the Hell Train.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: She occasionally uses her suitcase as a weapon.
* {{Jerkass}}: Not only does she not care about her current teammates (even killing one outright), she injures the person, Hana Yu, that she knows is a devoted fan of hers.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Calls out Bam for being too clingy to Rachel. A lot of readers will agree that Bam chasing after Rachel ''does'' feel uncomfortable at times, even to the point where it comes off like Bam is stalking her. It doesn't help that immediately after this, Bam meets Rachel for the first time and completely flips out, telling her she's not ''allowed'' to leave him behind.
* LuredIntoATrap: [[spoiler:Turns out that the "Crazy Ball" match was a trap set up by her in order to distract everyone away from Rachel's group taking over the Hell Train. She teleports away using her suitcase after Rachel makes her move]].
* NomDeMom: Justified due to the culture of the Tower, which places importance on the parent with the more powerful family connection. Yura's mother was a Ha, one of the Ten Great Families, while her father was from a cursed clan.
* OnlyFriend: Baam's tormented relationship with Rachel aside (since it hardly be called ''friendship'' after season 1), she's the only character who actually cares about Rachel as a person.
* OutOfFocus: [[spoiler:Her time in the spotlight is currently non-existent after joining up with Rachel's group on the Hell Train]]. However, she starts to get more screen-time following the Name Hunt Station arc.
* PlotDevice: [[spoiler:Her teleportation suitcase]].
* PreAsskickingOneLiner: Walks up to an ongoing all-out brawl to ask everyone remaining to become her Hell Train team...which they do.
* {{Revenge}}: Her mother was murdered by their own family, so she's joined [=FUG=] to get revenge against them and the rest of the ten families.
* SeparatedAtBirth: In a very weird way. [[spoiler:She was originally supposed to have a twin brother, but the curse put on her father's side of the family made it so that males born will have a higher risk of death in the womb. On the Hell Train's Hidden Floor, her mother made a deal with Big Breeder Hwang in order to have both children born--meaning that her brother was born as a data being while Yura's own data copy died in the womb. She eventually meets her "brother" later on in the arc.]]
* ShutUpHannibal: Kills one of her Hell Train teammates for gloating about their team's first victory.
* TheTeam:
--> '''Yura's Hell Train Team:''' Yura and Danhwa.
--> '''Rachel's Hell Train Dallar Show Team:''' Yura, Rachel, Hoaqin (White), Daniel, Raguel, Buelsar, Cassano, Traveller and Anna.
--> '''Rachel's 43rd Floor Expedition Team:''' Yura, Rachel, Hoaqin (White), Cassano, and Traveller.
--> '''Rachel's 43rd Floor Team:''' Yura, Rachel, Hoaqin (White), Traveller, Wangnan, and Miseng.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Yura is the idol-singer Girly Girl to Tomboy Rachel, and she also happens to be the closest thing Rachel has to a friend (even if it's a little one-sided).
* TrackingDevice: Has one for Rachel located ''in her hair''. When it was put in, or whether or not Rachel was even aware of this is unknown. [[{{Hypocrite}} Pretty funny for someone who calls Bam out on being to clingy to Rachel.]]
* VillainousFriendship: With Rachel oddly enough, even though Yura is a beautiful and beloved IdolSinger, while Rachel tends to be TheResenter to anyone she considers [[TheBeautifulElite more blessed than her]]. Despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that neither holds issue with sacrificing those who have [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness outlived their usefulness]], the two are extremely close, with Yura arguably being Rachel’s OnlyFriend.

* MissionControl: Owns a Lighthouse and doubles as a Light Bearer for Aguero's Team.
* TheMole: FUG planted her and Michael within Khun's season 2 team that was watching over Rachel in order to destroy the team from within, which allows Rachel to break away from Khun's watchful eyes.
* TheTeam

* TheMole: FUG planted him and Apple within Khun's season 2 team that was watching over Rachel in order to destroy the team from within, which allows Rachel to break away from Khun's watchful eyes.
