[[folder:Don, the Host]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/donsayshello_6.jpg]]
-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/TerryMcGurrin

The host of ''The Ridonculous Race''. Though often egotistical and more than a little narcissistic, Don cares a lot about following the rules and doesn't hesitate to hand out penalties to those who break them. A firm believer in fair play, devious contestants skilled at avoiding elimination frustrate him to no end.
----
* AsideComment: Don frequently speaks to the viewers, discussing the latest developments and expressing his opinions on various storylines and events. He also throws in a bitcon of AudienceParticipation in "Maori or Less".
--> "The last team to arrive -- say it with me -- may be cut from the competition! ... Why didn't any of you say it?"
* BaitAndSwitchComment: He clearly enjoys doing this to the contestants, especially in non-elimination rounds.
* ButtMonkey: Let's just say that being the host doesn't make Don immune to misfortune.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: His descriptions of the locations the racers visit usually contain legit facts mixed with odd ones that usually only pertain to him.
* CompanionCube: Chilly Billy, the snowman. He was killed by a pissed-off Josee leaving him saddened.
* DeadpanSnarker: Most of his off-script dialogue is this.
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** He called production about the safety of cleaning the skyscrapers' windows in Dubai.
** In "How Deep Is Your Love", he was disgusted by how low the Ice Dancers sunk and tells them they deserved their penalty. In "Darjeel With It", he even flat out tells them he wants to see them get eliminated... And then gets ''really'' excited in the very next episode when they're in the lead. But when the finale comes, he gleefully announces their elimination.
* {{Foil}}: To Chris. Both are {{Narcissist}}s who like to troll some of the contestants at times. However, whereas Chris is a {{Sadist}} who tortures the contestants for his own amusement, Don shows genuine concern for their safety and is always fair to them. In addition, Chris bends the rules whenever he can and lets players slide on technicalities while Don prefers contestants who follow the rules and treats the rules as ExactWords.
* GoodCounterpart: As cited above, he is this to Chris. Both are narcissistic and like to troll some of the contestants at times. Unlike Chris, however, Don does occasionally show legitimate concern for their safety, and is always fair to them. Don is also lacking in Chris' sadistic qualities. This is best demonstrated when Don calls the producers about how dangerous a challenge is, in direct contrast to how Chris tends to get calls from those same producers telling him to dial it back. Furthermore, while Chris prefers contestants who are outlandish and devious, Don seems to prefer the more normal contestants who follow the rules.
** Ironicly, both hosts now share the same voice actor since ''[[WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Total Drama Island (2023)]]'' due to Creator/ChristianPotenza being recast with Creator/TerryMcGurrin.
* HatesBeingTouched: He was really annoyed when Geoff and Brody made him part of a group hug after they came in first in Alberta.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Like Chris, he’s a narcissist and enjoys messing with the cast, but ''unlike'' Chris, he’s pretty amiable with the cast, gives plenty of PetTheDog moments and only punishes players that break the rules rather than when he feels like it to make the players suffer (like Chris does).
* LaserGuidedKarma: Gets a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown from Laurie for tricking her and Miles into eating meat for what turned out to be a non-elimination leg. He has a black eye for the entirety of the next episode.
* MeaningfulName: His name is Don, and he's the host of the Ri''don''culous Race.
* MrExposition: Like Chris [=McLean=]. His job as the host requires him to review a lot of what goes on in the show.
* MrFanservice: We've already seen him in a speedo in "Mediterranean Homesick Blues" and his ModestyTowel fell off after being in the sauna in "I Love Ridonc & Roll".
* {{Narcissist}}: He is clearly one, though he is not as narcissistic as Chris:
** His official reveal was an ego stroking article made up of "facts" supplied by Don himself.
** The Don Boxes, the show's clue dispensers, are shaped like him.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Of [[Characters/TheAmazingRace Phil Keoghan]].
* OffscreenTeleportation: Somehow, Don is able to be present at the teams' current location, and be on-location to present the area of the next leg at the beginning of each episode. It's implied that this is all post-production ManipulativeEditing in-universe, especially given the vague amount of time elapsed between or even during a given episode.
* RulesLawyer:
** He gives out time penalties to teams whenever they fail to follow their instructions exactly and [[spoiler:he eliminated the Tennis Rivals on the technicality that Gerry's foot wasn't all the way in the Chill Zone.]]
** He threatened to kick out Geoff and Brody when he thought they were trying to cheat in Indonesia.
** He acknowledges that the Ice Dancers are probably cheating but doesn't care enough to look into it. However, as their cheating becomes more blatant, Don's time penalties become longer.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: After a crab pulls on his Speedo.
* TheStoic: When Geoff and Brody want him to join their hug in "Little Bull on the Prairie", he claims that he 'doesn't do emotion'.
* {{Troll}}: He does this to the Ice Dancers when they come in first place in New Zealand.
-->'''Don:''' Ice Dancers, congratulations, you reached first place with skill and good sportsmanship.\
'''Josee & Jacques:''' What?\
'''Don:''' Ha ha ha, no. Your victory is highly suspect, but I don't care enough to investigate.
* TwinkleSmile: Sports one after recapping the events of the previous episodes at the beginning of the current episodes and says "This is The Ridonculous Race".
[[/folder]]

!!The Contestants

[[folder:In General]]
* BreakingOldTrends: Instead of two halves between all contestants going to one of two teams, all contestants are divided into tag teams of two, with each tag team serving as its own group. This also means that no merge ever happens, and the contestants are less individualistic and more cooperative, at least with each other, for necessity.
* ButtMonkey: All contestants were injured or humiliated at least once. Some like Dwayne, Devin, and Jacques recieve it more than others.
* CantLiveWithoutYou: {{Downplayed}}. Because the main gimmick of the season are tag teams for the participants, if one half of the pairing ends up being incapacitated, or fails a given challenge, then ''both'' halves will be affected/disqualified.
* DysfunctionJunction: It'd be easier to count the teams that don't have some sort of issue among them. Whether it's something major like Josee and Jacques' obssession with being first place, or more common stuff like Ryan and Stephanie's on-and-off relationship, most teams have some sort of problem among them.
* ImpossibleHourglassFigure: Virtually every girl shown. The only exceptions are [=MacArthur=] and Tammy.
* ThoseTwoGuys: All the teams are this by default, thanks to the tag team gimmick. Some members ''do'' interact with other teams sometimes, but most of them stick to their own partners most of the time.

[[folder:Carrie and Devin, Best Friends]]

[[caption-width-right:350: Left: Carrie. Right: Devin]]
-> '''Voiced by:''' Jeff Geddis (Devin) & Creator/KristinFairlie (Carrie)
->'''Placement:''' 5th
->'''Eliminated in:''' [[Recap/RidonculousRaceLastTangoInBuenosAires Episode 24]]

Two very close childhood friends who do everything together. Carrie is a sweet young lady with a cordial personality, and while Devin may not be the brightest bulb in the box, he is still a very nice guy. However, Carrie wants a bit more than friendship from Devin, although he remains oblivious to it.
----

* AbortedArc: Carrie's OddFriendship with Ryan is completely dropped in the latter's elimination episode to the point where neither characters interact once in said episode.
* ActorAllusion: In one episode, Devin mentions that [[Creator/KristinFairlie Carrie's]] older sister forced her to [[Series/Goosebumps1995 eat a worm]].
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Carrie's feelings for Devin are always put through the grinder by him mentioning his girlfriend Shelley. [[spoiler: Eventually, Devin does realize he has feelings for Carrie, and by the end of the series they confess their love for each other.]]
* AllLovingHero: Both Carrie and Devin are among the most friendly contestants in the race, having befriended the Sisters, the Surfer Dudes, and Junior. Carrie also befriends Ryan, though Devin doesn't seem to care for him much.
* AmusingInjuries: Both of them, especially Devin.
* AsianAirhead: Devin's not stupid, but he's very oblivious.
* BerserkButton: Carrie hates it whenever Devin mentions Shelley. Carrie has snapped at Devin for comparing her to Shelley at least twice.
* BettyAndVeronica: For Devin, Carrie is the Betty to Shelley's Veronica.
* BigDamnKiss: [[spoiler: When Devin finally tells Carrie that he loves her.]]
* BrokenPedestal: As part of the UnrequitedLoveSwitcheroo the duo goes through, Carrie starts to reevaluate her feelings towards Devin after seeing the more negative aspects of his personality. [[spoiler: She ultimately ends up [[RebuiltPedestal retaining her feelings for him]].]]
* BrownBagMask: Devin gets one slapped on him by Don when [[spoiler: he can't stop sobbing after being dumped]].
* ButtMonkey: Devin becomes one after realizing his feelings for Carrie: he gets pepper juice in his eyes, horribly burns his tongue, [[GroinAttack struck in the kiwis]] by a goat, trampled by a bull, lands [[GroinAttack crotch-first]] on a train connector, twists his ankle after being thrown off a train, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking and being unable to tell Carrie how he feels]].
* TheCameo: Both of them appear in the ''WesternAnimation/TotalDramaRama'' episode "Invasion of the Booger Snatchers" as [[spoiler:characters inside Harold's alien invasion comic]].
* CannotSpitItOut: Carrie can't bring herself to tell Devin how she feels. She finally gathers up the courage to do it in "Shawshank Ridonc-tion" but Devin is too distracted by the promise of a phone call to Shelley to give her time to talk. [[spoiler: Carrie puts off telling him after Shelley dumps him, feeling it's not the right time. Eventually this gets reversed when Devin realizes he has feelings for Carrie, but can't bring himself to tell her.]] In "Darjeel With It," Devin keeps getting interrupted by outside circumstances. He was able to tell the sisters though, but they slapped him a few times for being so insensitive to Carrie's own love towards him.
* ChekhovsGunman: Remember the tennis instructor Devin mentioned in "Hello and Dubai"? [[spoiler:Shelley's been seeing the guy behind Devin's back.]]
* TheChewToy: After getting dumped by Shelley on live TV, Devin really runs the gamut of being the show's new whipping boy. It kicks into overdrive after [[spoiler: he and Carrie have a UnrequitedLoveSwitcheroo.]]
* ChildhoodFriends: They met in a sandbox when they were kids and have been close since then.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: [[spoiler:As cited above, they knew each other when they were kids, stating that they met in a sandbox when they were five. Their relationship turns romantic over the course of the race]].
* ClingyJealousGirl: Carrie shows shades of this, being [[BettyAndVeronica very envious of Shelley]].
* ComplimentBackfire: Downplayed. When Devin and Carrie compliment Crimson's [[spoiler:non-goth]] appearance, she reacts negatively, although it's more out of insecurity than anger.
-->'''Crimson:''' You're throwing a lot of positive emotions my way, and I don't know what to do with that.
* CrazyJealousGuy: [[spoiler:Devin becomes clingy and possessive once he starts to crush on Carrie.]]
* DecoyProtagonist: [[spoiler:They're set up as one of the main teams, place first in the first episode, were part of an anti-evil alliance, and were saved by non-elimination once but only place 5th. According to WordOfGod, they were originally intended as finalists before it was changed.]]
* DidIJustSayThatOutLoud: Carrie realizes she admitted to liking Devin on TV, which meant everyone tuned in heard her... including Devin's girlfriend.
* DisproportionateRetribution: According to Devin, Shelley once locked him out of his car during winter because he bought her the wrong kind of tea.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler:They finally get into a relationship, at the cost of Devin being massively injured by accident by Kitty]].
* FacePalm: Carrie when she realizes her love confessional was going to be seen on TV by Shelley (Devin's girlfriend) and realized what she was doing.
* FiveStagesOfGrief: Devin goes through this after being dumped by Shelley.
* TheGhost: Shelley, Devin's [[spoiler:ex-]]girlfriend. Devin would often talk about her and even calls her in "Shawshank Ridonc-tion", but she is never seen.
* GroinAttack: In "Darjeel With It," Devin was expecting to get hit in the crotch at some point or another, but wasn't expecting it from a goat. He wasn't expecting to land on the decoupling unit moments later either.
* GirlNextDoor: Carrie to Devin, they were childhood friends who met in the sandbox and have been inseparable ever since.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Carrie has blonde hair and is one of the kindest girls in ''The Ridonculous Race'' (for the most part).
* HartmanHips: Carrie. After Taylor, she has the second biggest hips in ''The Ridonculous Race''.
* HopelessSuitor: Carrie is this to Devin. [[spoiler:And later, Devin to Carrie.]]
* HumiliationConga: The latter half of the competition really isn't that kind to Devin, with him learning that his girlfriend had been cheating on him, and then getting dumped on live TV. He spends the rest of the competition getting the ButtMonkey treatment with his every attempt at trying to impress Carrie only resulting in him embarrassing himself, often in painful ways.
* InelegantBlubbering: [[spoiler:Devin is reduced to this after Shelley dumps him. It's so depressing that Don tries to cover his tear-stained face with a paper bag.]]
* ItsAllAboutMe: Downplayed with Carrie, but still somewhat noticeable. She often tends to put on a high pedestal about how she'd be a better girlfriend for Devin than Shelley while also showing a bit of lack of respect for the former. One such example occurs when [[spoiler:Shelley dumps Devin]] as her first instinct is not to comfort him in any way, but instead think that now is the ideal opportunity to profess her feelings to him (she ultimately doesn't, while still not even attempt to comfort him).
* JustFriends: Devin thinks they're this but Carrie has a huge crush on him, [[ObliviousToLove which Devin is oblivious to]].
* LaserGuidedKarma: The good kind. Since The Surfers allowed them to advance in Vietnam Carrie picked them to take their spot after they had to pull out after Devin was injured. The Surfers were very grateful for being back in the race and promised to split the million with them. This means they're the only team to not win but did end up with $250,000 (Brody got the amount wrong but he meant this much) at the end.
* LoveMakesYouDumb: [[spoiler:Devin repeatedly tries to admit his feelings for Carrie, but that usually involves him doing really stupid and suicidal tactics in the race that put them at a disadvantage]].
* LuminescentBlush: Carrie when staring at Devin.
* MaleGaze: Carrie gets plenty of butt-shots throughout the season.
* MirrorCharacter:
** Carrie is one to Bridgette, being the [[HairOfGoldHeartOfGold nice blonde]] with a huge crush. She even shares [[Creator/KristinFairlie the same voice actress]]. As the series progresses, she evolves more into a substitute for Zoey from ''Revenge'', being a NiceGirl whose entire character seems based on a WillTheyOrWontThey with her season-long love interest.
** Visually, Devin looks a lot like Trent, [[spoiler:and later after Devin realizes he's in love with Carrie, he starts acting a lot like Trent from ''Action'', right down to nearly blowing the challenges to impress her.]] Devin is also a big pain magnet for the series, like Trent.
* MomentKiller: After Kitty encourages Carrie to speak her mind out to Devin, she finally tries to, and luckily, she gets Devin to admit his relationship with Shelley is just as bad as the Daters (because of Stephanie becoming overly competitive and demanding)... He then says with a smile that he and Carrie will be best friends forever.
* NiceGuy: Both of them; they are the least offensive pairing in the game.
* NonGameplayElimination: [[spoiler:They ended up eliminated when Kitty, tied to an Emu, accidentally crashed into Devin and knocked him down a cliff even after he and Carrie managed to beat the Sisters to the chill zone. He was too injured to continue, but there was a silver lining in the rule book which allowed them to bring back an eliminated team to take their place]].
* NotGoodWithRejection: [[spoiler: Devin does not take well when Shelley breaks up with him]].
* ObliviousToLove: Despite having a girlfriend back home, Devin has no idea that Carrie has a crush on him. [[spoiler:After his girlfriend breaks up with him and Devin realizes he has feelings for Carrie, Carrie is completely oblivious to this as she had decided to stop reading into Devin being nice when she thought it was obvious they were destined to just remain friends.]]
* PlatonicLifePartners: Devin ''thinks'' they're this, as they've been inseparable since childhood, but Carrie's been harboring romantic feelings for quite a while. [[spoiler:Gets reversed later when Devin realizes he loves Carrie, and Carrie becomes convinced they are destined to just be friends.]]. This subverts after a RelationshipUpgrade happens between them.
* PlotAllergy: In "El Bunny Supremo", Devin is allergic to hot peppers, temporarily blinding him when he accidentally gets pepper juice in his eyes. In the next episode, his allergies clear up somewhat, but his vision remains impaired.
* PlotArmor: Avoided elimination a few times due to their WillTheyOrWontThey plot.
* RunningGag: Carrie shows affection to Devin, only for him to bring up Shelley.
* SanitySlippage: [[spoiler:Devin. Big time. After Shelley breaks up with him, he goes through each of the seven stages of heartbreak (as described by Spud) though they're actually really five, starting with delusion, then anger, then desperation, then rock bottom, and finally moving on.]]
* SatelliteCharacter: Due to their entire characterization revolving around the WillTheyOrWontThey plot, they were just... there. The only notable interactions they had was both of them with Kitty & Emma and Carrie's OddFriendship with Ryan.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Carrie and Devin's WillTheyOrWontThey storyline gets focused on a good bit throughout the race, but not to the same extent of the Ice Dancers/Police Cadets rivalry.
* SwappedRoles: [[spoiler:Devin does move on from Shelly and finally realizes he loves Carrie, but unfortunately, he realizes this too late after accidentally making Carrie fend off a herd of lions in a trap door where she realizes herself she doesn't need to suck up to him anymore]].
* TraumaCongaLine: Devin just keeps getting one injury after another in short succession in "Darjeel With It." Carrie eventually had to hoist him up and take him to the chill zone.
* UnexplainedRecovery: [[spoiler:In "Last Tango in Buenos Aires", Devin gets accidentally knocked off a cliff and ends up in a full body cast. However, in "A Million Ways to Lose a Million Dollars", he simply has bandages on his head (even though it was the only part of his body ''not'' covered up while in his cast), while Sanders' arm was still in a cast for the remainder of the season.]]
* UnrequitedLoveSwitcheroo: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] but after Devin gets cheated on and then dumped by his girlfriend, he ends up going through a nasty funk. A side-effect of this is Carrie starts to see the more [[WhatDoesSheSeeInHim unappealing sides]] of Devin's personality that she previously never noticed due to her rose-tinted crush on him. By the time Devin finally gets over the breakup and starts developing feelings Carrie, Carrie's own crush on him had cooled off considerably.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Devin doesn't even question why Carrie drew his caricature with hearts around it, or even that he was shirtless in the drawing. When the artist they were giving it to judge turned it down, Devin believes it's because the caricature was "too realistic".
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: While on the flight to Transylvania, Carrie talks to the Fashion Bloggers about their blog and how cool it sounds. When she asks which of them started it, Tom and Jen each say they did and spend most of the leg arguing with each other. [[spoiler:They make up before the end of the leg but come in last and are eliminated.]]
* VictoryIsBoring: [[spoiler:Rock Bottom Devin doesn't have any drive to do any challenges when he's like this]].
* VomitDiscretionShot:
** In "New Beijinging", Carrie either vomits off-screen or hides her face in a bucket to vomit when she thinks about having to eat worms.
** In "Little Bull on the Prairie", Devin runs off-screen to vomit after eating the pork 'n beans and riding the mechanical bull.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: Pretty much the entire basis of their characterization is that Carrie is in love with Devin but CannotSpitItOut, with Devin being ObliviousToLove. [[spoiler:And then partway through the season they have SwappedRoles, with Devin in love with Carrie, and Carrie oblivious to it.]]
* WhatDoesHeSeeInHer: Carrie's reaction when Devin mentions that Shelley locked him out of the car (in weather cold enough to give him ''frostbite'') for bringing her the wrong kind of tea.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Devin is terrified of heights.
* WrongGenreSavvy: Carrie, when she mentions that they must have made the skywalk challenge safe for the contestants.
* {{Yandere}}: [[spoiler: Devin displays shades of this after his breakup with Shelley, oscillating wildly between jealousy and anger as he enters the [[FiveStagesOfGrief "Seven Stages Of Heartbreak"]].]]

[[folder:Kelly and Taylor, Mother and Daughter]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rrktt.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350: Left: Taylor. Right: Kelly]]
-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/JulieLemieux (Kelly) & Creator/BrynMcAuley (Taylor)
->'''Placement:''' 13th
->'''Eliminated in:''' [[Recap/RidonculousRaceHelloAndDubai Episode 9]]

A pair of rich socialites. Kelly is a trophy wife who enjoys being the "cool mom" (her words) and spoils her daughter rotten without questioning her. Taylor is a vain and bratty DaddysGirl who walks all over her mother in return and rarely has a good word to say about her put-upon parent.
----
* AbusiveOffspring: Taylor is often verbally abusive towards her mother.
* AllTakeAndNoGive: Pretty much Taylor's relationship with her mother; her whole life consists of Kelly spoiling her silly without the slightest gratitude in return.
* AlphaBitch: Taylor has all the makings of one, even though she lacks followers to boss around, save for her mother.
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: According to Taylor, Kelly is lame and constantly embarrasses her.
* AttentionWhore: Taylor, as expected of a rich, spoiled teenage girl.
* BadPeopleAbuseAnimals: In "Brazilian Pain Forest", Taylor kicks a goat while having a tantrum, with said goat shortly retaliating by ramming her.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Kelly is a DotingParent; however, her limits are tested during the competition.
* BigBeautifulWoman: Taylor has got some meaty curves on her.
* BornWinner: Taylor believes that she is this. However, Kelly later reveals that all of Taylor's awards, trophies and achievements were all bought by her father.
* BrattyTeenageDaughter: Taylor, who gives Heather, Courtney, and Amy a run for their money.
* BreakTheHaughty: Taylor shuts down after Kelly reveals that all her awards were fake. She later snaps out of it after a mom-daughter bonding moment.
* BreathHoldingBrat: Because Taylor was never taught any boundaries, she does this to get whatever she wants from her mother. In one particular instance as a child, Taylor held her breath until her mother bought her a really expensive dollhouse... [[UngratefulBitch only to toss it aside once she got bored of it]]. Apparently, years of holding her breath to get what she wants have given her [[CharlesAtlasSuperpower a very impressive lung capacity]].
* BrutalHonesty:
** Used by Kelly against Taylor after the former's patience with the latter finally runs out.
** Used on Kelly by Dwayne, who remarks that giving Taylor no boundaries has caused her to be a spoiled brat.
%%zce* BuffySpeak: Taylor's speech often consists of this.
* TheBully: Taylor has no gameplay strategy or even competence in challenges and just stands around bossing around and bullying her mother.
* CatchPhrase: Taylor has one in the form of "Wait, what?", when something doesn't go her way.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Taylor has extraordinary lung capacity, thanks to being a BreathHoldingBrat. Kelly even claims that Taylor once held her breath for ''7 minutes''.
* ComplimentBackfire: In "Hello and Dubai", Kelly compliments Taylor on how she stopped Mickey's panic attack; Taylor, who is still seething over her mom's revelation, sarcastically responds "Oh, do I get a fake trophy for it?".
* CoolOldLady: Kelly believes herself to be the cool mom and claims that Taylor's friends love it when she hangs out with them.
* DaddysGirl: Kelly said Taylor was more of a Daddy's girl.
* DeathGlare: Taylor gives one to Mickey in "Brazilian Pain Forest" when he was about to go into the ant-filled mitt before her, until Kitty steps in and stands up for him.
* TheDogBitesBack: Played with by Kelly.
** Subverted in "Bjorken Telephone". Her patience with Taylor has seemed to run out, but when Taylor exclaims "you can't tell me what to do", Kelly reverts back to being a {{pushover|Parents}}.
** Played straight in "Brazilian Pain Forest" when she finally asserts her authority as the mother when they swing across the gorge.
** Climaxes in "Hawaiian Honeyruin", where Kelly [[CallingTheYoungManOut shuts down]] Taylor's insolent attitude where she reveals Taylor has [[SmallNameBigEgo never won anything in her life]], and all her trophies were bought while her contest judges were paid to lie.
** In "Hello and Dubai", Kelly gives Taylor a [[ToughLove time out]] by hoisting her atop the window washing platform and ultimately cuts her allowance [[spoiler:after they were eliminated]].
* DotingParent: For the most part, Kelly seems blissfully unaware of how heavily flawed her daughter is, and she still thinks of her like a sweetheart. She finally comes to terms with how much of a SpoiledBrat Taylor is in "Hawaiian Honeyruin".
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler:For Kelly, who made up with Taylor by way of going shopping at a golden mall, and starting to become more assertive by cancelling Taylor's allowance]].
* EntitledBitch: Growing up {{spoiled|Brat}} has given Taylor this mentality.
* {{Expy}}: They seem to be based on [[Film/MeanGirls Regina George]] and her mother; Kelly even wears an outfit similar to Mrs. George's tracksuit.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Taylor insults her mother and flatly talks about how awesome she is.
* ExtremeDoormat: Kelly a submissive parent who lets her SpoiledBrat daughter, Taylor, walk all over her and gets away with it for the majority of the season. In "Hello and Dubai", Kelly demands Taylor stop treating her like a metaphorical doormat after Taylor uses her mother as a ''literal'' doormat.
* FatAndSkinny: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. While Taylor isn't fat, she is rather plump compared to Kelly's slim figure.
* FreudianExcuse: Unlike Amy, Taylor's obnoxious and bratty attitude is justified by her pushover mother allowing her to do whatever she wants with no repercussions.
* GleefulAndGrumpyPairing: Kelly attempts to get her daughter enthusiastic about the Race; however, Taylor is a PerpetualFrowner who wants practically nothing to do with her mother.
* GrewASpine: Kelly. When Taylor's insubordination very nearly got them eliminated, Kelly starts to become more assertive.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Kelly, who at least tries her best in taking care of Taylor's well-being, and is generally not that sour in front of others.
* HandsOffParenting: Kelly, in her attempts to be a "cool mom", makes the mistake of setting no boundaries for Taylor as a child, allowing her to become a SpoiledBrat.
* HartmanHips: Taylor. A rare case where it's the daughter and not the mother to have this.
* HiddenDepths: Kelly attended art school before getting married and having Taylor, so it may be inferred that Kelly actually has great artistic skills.
* HumblePie: Taylor gets a big slice of it, if not the whole pie, when her mom reveals that ''all'' her awards and trophies are fake.
* InformedAbility: Taylor says she's great at everything, yet she shows no really noticeable skill. Later, we find out it's because her parents bought her trophies and bribed judges, rather than Taylor actually having any skill.
* ItsAllAboutMe: When Kelly tries to share her experience in art school, Taylor exclaims "[[HypocriticalHumour not everything's about you]]".
* {{Jerkass}}: Taylor's entire personality never goes beyond being a mean, SpoiledBrat who shows her own mother no respect and has very little redeemable traits. This is largely attributed to her [[HandsOffParenting upbringing]].
* KickTheDog: Taylor is very insolent towards her mother, regularly abusing her vocally and [[UngratefulBitch not showing even the slightest hint of gratitude]] for the sacrifices Kelly makes for her. Eventually, [[TheDogBitesBack Kelly puts Taylor in her place]].
* LaserGuidedKarma:
** In "Brazilian Pain Forest", Taylor gets pooped on by a cow, then she was head-butted by a goat. She brought the latter upon herself by kicking the goat.
** Taylor gets a full load of this from "Hawaiian Honeyruin" onwards, where Kelly stands up for herself and puts Taylor in her place.
** In "Hello and Dubai", Kelly punishes Taylor for being disrespectful towards her and for smearing bird poop over her by giving Taylor a time out, which is to say that Kelly hoisted the gurney she was on with Taylor, causing Taylor to be hoisted up and hanging several stories high with Kelly refusing to help Taylor until Taylor apologized. Later on after they get eliminated, Kelly cancels Taylor's allowance
* TheLoad: Taylor would rather let her mom do the heavy lifting than help participate in the challenges.
* MamaBear: Kelly splashed Dwayne Sr. with her cup of water when he implied Taylor was born rotten. She later realizes he was right.
* MeanBoss: Taylor yells at the family maid all the time to make her work faster.
* MirrorCharacter:
** Taylor is remarkably similar to Amy in nature in that they are both extremely arrogant and overly mean to a member of their own family. She even shares [[Creator/BrynMcAuley the voice actress]] and talks with the same ValleyGirl accent. However, Taylor has proven herself to be relatively more humane than Amy ever was.
** Like Samey, Kelly has been overly patient with Taylor's bratty behavior for ''far too long''. As that patience begins to wear thin, Kelly becomes more assertive, eventually putting her insolent daughter in her place.
* MumLooksLikeASister: According to Kelly. Taylor was understandably confused.
* NeverMyFault:
** Taylor gave vibes of this in their introduction, stating she believes she's the best at everything and would win if her mom didn't mess things up.
** In "Bjorken Telephone", Taylor makes her mother walk all the way back across the geyser field and complains about how long she made her wait and berates her for their 60 minute penalty, even though it was ''clearly'' Taylor's fault for not going back to the start as instructed.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: They are essentially a highly flanderized version of mother-daughter duo Missy and Baylor from ''Series/{{Survivor}}'', even down to having similar names (Missy/Kelly and Baylor/Taylor).
* ParentChildTeam: One of two such teams in the Race. Because of Taylor's [[TheLoad unwillingness to participate]], Kelly has to carry the burden by herself, leading to friction between them.
* PerpetualFrowner: Taylor is often seen with a disapproving scowl on her face, as she is often annoyed by her mother.
* PushoverParents: Even after becoming more assertive, Kelly is still somewhat of a pushover...at least until she cuts off Taylor's allowance.
-->'''Taylor:''' Mom, I need some space! I'm giving you a time out.\
'''Kelly:''' I'm not sure it works like that...\
'''Taylor:''' ''([[BreathHoldingBrat starts holding her breath]])''\
'''Kelly:''' ''(gets up and walks away)'' Okay, sure!
* RageBreakingPoint: Kelly, who has been beyond patient with Taylor's insolence, finally snaps at her daughter when they come in next to last in "Hawaiian Honeyruin".
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Kelly gives her daughter a scathing, yet ''long overdue'', reality check, revealing that ''all'' of Taylor's medals, trophies, and accomplishments were bought and not earned, in "Hawaiian Honeyruin".
-->'''Taylor:''' ''(to her mother)'' You... need to step your game up, mother! For serious!\
'''Kelly:''' We're a team, Taylor. \
'''Taylor:''' I know you're not used to winning like me, but maybe you need to follow my example more. Because...\
'''Kelly:''' ''(''finally'' losing her patience)'' You've never won ''anything'' in your life, Taylor! NEVER!! Not one race. Not one medal. NOTHING!!\
'''Taylor:''' Wait, what?! My room is full of trophies and medals!\
'''Kelly:''' Because your dad bought a trophy store! What kind of trophies come in the mail?! And guess who paid your coaches to lie? Yep! Daddy!\
'''Taylor:''' ''(showing desperation)'' BEAUTY PAGEANTS!! I've won beauty pageants! You ''can't'' fake those!\
'''Kelly:''' Oh, honey. When you have enough cash, you can fake ''anything''! ''(Taylor gasps in shock)''
* RichBitch: Played straight by Taylor, who treats almost everyone, ''especially'' her own mom, like dirt. Averted with Kelly, who is overly patient with her daughter and is generally polite towards others.
* TheRichHaveWhiteStuff: Both of them wear white clothes with yellow accents.
* RichInDollarsPoorInSense: Taylor, after being spoiled for virtually all her life.
* RunningGag: Taylor getting animal poop on her boots.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Taylor threatens to quit in "Brazilian Pain Forest" because she had to ride with farm animals. Subverted when Kelly bribes her with a car to stay.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney: Kelly tells Taylor that [[EveryManHasHisPrice they paid off the trainers, teachers and judges to let her pass or win]]. When Taylor tries to point out that the beauty pageants she won can't be fake, Kelly tells her that when you have enough money, ''anything'' can be faked.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: Taylor and her father both love to win and they both hate avocado.
* SkewedPriorities:
** In "Hawaiian Honeyruin", Taylor was more upset about Kelly getting sand in her hair than the fact she was literally on fire. [=MacArthur=] takes a moment to {{lampshade}} the absurdity of this.
---> '''Taylor:''' ''(after her grass skirt catches fire)'' Fire! ''(Kelly rushes Taylor to the beach and starts throwing sand to extinguish the flames)'' Mom! My extensions!\
'''[=MacArthur=]:''' I'd worry about the burns more than the hair but, uh... [[ComicallyMissingThePoint I'm funny like that.]]
** [[spoiler: What cost them the race is that they went shopping before checking in at the Chill Zone.]]
* SmallNameBigEgo: For all of Taylor's arrogant claims and criticism, very little of it translates to actual ability.
** In "Hawaiian Honeyruin", Taylor claims that she's an award-winning swimmer, then falls flat onto the water and paddles like a little dog. Later, Kelly reveals all of Taylor's awards are fakes and that her father bought a trophy store and paid off her coaches and contest judges to lie.
** In "Hello and Dubai", Taylor starts to boast about her tennis skills but stops short when she remembers what her mother had said in the previous episode.
* SpoiledBrat: Taylor, who was spoiled by Kelly as a child.
* StatuesqueStunner: Kelly is a very tall and beautiful woman.
* StepfordSmiler: Kelly takes her daughter's demeaning insults with forced enthusiasm.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: During the Squeegee challenge in "Hello and Dubai".
-->'''Kelly:''' ''(to Taylor, through her teeth)'' Yelling won't help, sweetie.
* TookALevelInKindness: Taylor, sort of. She never apologizes for her past mistreatment of her mother and is still pretty bratty but has a somewhat heart-to-heart with her mother after she's hoisted and promises to treat her with the respect she deserves.
* ToughLove: Kelly attempts to invoke this twice, in an attempt to make Taylor more grateful. In "Hawaiian Honeyruin", Kelly reveals that all of Taylor's awards and trophies were fake, and in "Hello and Dubai", she hoists Taylor on the window washing platform, telling Taylor that she would not get her down until she apologized.
* TrophyWife: Kelly is called one [[http://www.freshtvinc.com/blog/meet-kelly-and-taylor-from-the-ridonculous-race/ by]] WordOfGod.
* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: Kelly said that Taylor crashed her third sports car by the age of ''ten''.
* UngratefulBitch: Taylor is this to her mother Kelly, who has spoiled her and catered to her every whim, but still gets treated like trash.
* ValleyGirl: Taylor talks in this accent, on top of her BuffySpeak.
* VomitIndiscretionShot: In "Bjorken Telephone", Taylor is grossed out by the Icelandic feast and says she's on "high barf alert"; when Kelly [[TemptingFate tells her not to say "barf"]], they both vomit.
* WackyParentSeriousChild: Kelly wants to enjoy her time during the race and tries to bond with her daughter; however, Taylor wants her mother to leave her alone.
* WasTooHardOnHer: After telling Taylor that all her awards were fake in "Hawaiian Honeyruin", Kelly feels this way in the following episode.

[[folder:Emma and Kitty, Sisters]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rrke.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350: Left: Emma. Right: Kitty]]
-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/StaceyDePass (Emma) & Creator/StephanieAnneMills (Kitty)
->'''Placement:''' 4th
->'''Eliminated in:''' [[Recap/RidonculousRaceBahamarama Episode 25]]

Two sisters who are like chalk and cheese. Kitty (the younger sister) is fun-loving, sometimes a little scatter-brained, and in the race for a good time. Emma (the older sister), on the other hand, wants to win and looks down on anything that could be considered frivolous, such as romance.
----

* AllLovingHeroine: Kitty befriends the Reality Pros, Best Friends, Adversity Twins, and the Surfer Dudes during her and Emma's time in the race.
* AlmostKiss: Emma and Noah. [[spoiler:She gives him one for real after his elimination]].
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: Kitty is very easily distracted by her surroundings and has difficulty focusing on the game.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Kitty pushes Emma to get together with Noah but later regrets this decision when the relationship ends up slowing both teams down. She then switches gears and forces Emma to forget about romance and focus on the race, but this ends up re-activating Emma's CompetitionFreak mode, which is what Kitty was trying to avoid to begin with.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: While Kitty is generally one of the most friendly contestants, she can be overly competitive at times, and she had gotten into tussles with Stephanie in "Hawaiian Honeyruin" and [=MacArthur=] in "Dude Buggies".
* BigLittleSister: Despite Emma being confirmed to be the older of the two sisters, Kitty is noticeably taller.
* BigSisterBully: Emma has shades of this, although it's downplayed to more of a case of her trying to be responsible and being annoyed by Kitty's antics rather than intentionally being mean to her.
* CallItKarma: Kitty's justification for convincing the ticket counter guy to send the Ice Dancers and Police Cadets to the back of the plane.
* CameraFiend: Kitty has a compulsion of taking selfies at every location.
* CharacterDevelopment:
** While her ControlFreak nature never quite dissipates, Emma becomes less distrustful and irritable after she accepts her feelings for Noah. She also becomes more appreciative and protective towards Kitty towards the end of the season.
** Kitty starts to take the competition more seriously once the team passes the midpoint of the season -- which earns her some respect from her usually [[IceQueen frosty]] sister.
* CharacterTic: Kitty has a habit of [[CameraFiend taking photos with her phone]], usually selfies.
* ChildlikeVoice: Kitty has a chipper voice befitting her bubbly and carefree personality.
* CompetitionFreak:
** Emma is there to win and tries to keep Kitty focused on the competition. [[spoiler: Emma also makes it clear that she's only getting back together with Noah if SHE'S the one who wins the contest.]]
** Kitty can become this under the right circumstances, particularly during "Dude Buggies", where she constantly fights with [=MacArthur=]. It's also mentioned that she once destroyed both her gaming console and the family living room after someone managed to beat her in an online match.
* ControlFreak: Emma often refuses to let Kitty help her during challenges. In "None Down, Eighteen To Go - Part 2", she overrules Kitty's spice choices with her own and in "Bjorken Telephone" she scolds Kitty for completing the Icelandic phrase even though she got it right.
%%* TheCutie: Kitty is [[GenkiGirl bubbly and cheerful]].
* DefrostingIceQueen: [[spoiler:When Emma finally hooks up with Noah she quickly changes gears from being cold and rude to being bubbly and obsessed with their future together.]]
* DisqualificationInducedVictory: [[spoiler: They win the Episode 23 leg because Jacques and Josee, who would have come in first, separated the train cars and received an hour-long penalty.]]
* {{Expy}}: Kitty's design is similar to Lizbeth from ''WesternAnimation/CaptainFlamingo'', albeit with hair ties, a bluish black skirt, and white socks with brown boots.
* FacePalm:
** Emma does this when she notices Kitty taking selfies with a yeti in "Bjorken Telephone".
** Kitty does this when Owen keeps making incorrect guesses during their game of charades in "Hawaiian Honeyruin".
** Kitty has this reaction when Emma starts to admit that she likes Noah but changes her sentence at the last minute in "Hello and Dubai".
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Ostensibly, Emma is the responsible one to Kitty's foolishness, but they're actually more equal than she'd like to admit.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Emma blurts out an unusually thorough rant about where a relationship with Noah will lead in "I Love Ridonc & Roll". In "Maori or Less", it's revealed that [[spoiler:she's a bit of a {{yandere}} and was just as obsessed with her previous boyfriend.]]
* FreudianExcuse: Emma's distrustful nature and ControlFreak attitude seem to come from her boyfriend Jake dumping her, if Kitty's comments are anything to go by. This is later confirmed in "Hello and Dubai", where Kitty tells Owen that it's been three years, and Emma is still upset over it.
* FreudianSlip:
** Emma has one in Dubai, when she accidentally says "Noah distractions" instead of "no distractions." [[ShipperOnDeck Kitty catches it immediately and is absolutely delighted.]]
** In "Maori or Less", Emma calls Kitty and Noah in for a discussion that she accidentally describes as a ''family'' meeting instead of a ''team'' meeting.
* GamerChick: Kitty was apparently a particularly bad example a few years back, playing for days straight and getting extremely aggressive, forcing Emma to cut her off.
* GenkiGirl: Kitty is quite upbeat and tries to look on the bright-side of grave situations.
* GetAHoldOfYourselfMan: Kitty has to smack Emma upside the head to get her to focus on the game in "Maori or Less".
* GirlishPigtails: Kitty is the younger, more carefree, and excitable sister of Emma. While Emma wears her hair elegantly loose, Kitty has hers tied into long pigtails with ribbons.
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: [[GenkiGirl Kitty]] has GirlishPigtails, wears a skirt, has a pink phone that she takes a LOT of selfies with and heeled boots but she has also mentioned to be a GamerChick and has a brown belt in "fusion kick-boxing yoga".
* GleefulAndGrumpyPairing: Kitty is the peppy one who wants to enjoy her time in the Race, while Emma is (initially) focused on winning the Race.
* GracefulLoser: [[spoiler:They really don't lament their loss in the finale and admit they enjoyed their time while it lasted.]].
* HairColorDissonance: Both of them have black hair which looks like a very dark shade of blue.
* HartmanHips: Emma, especially when in a side-by-side comparison with Kitty.
* HiddenDepths: Kitty is capable of sensing love: she quickly realized that Noah was in love with Emma and Carrie was in love with Devin.
* HypocriticalHumor: Emma frequently criticizes other people for being bossy and controlling without realizing that she acts the same way.
** Emma's reason for not wanting to form an alliance with Owen and Noah reflects this as well.
---> '''Emma:''' Noah's a snarky know-it-all. Do you have any idea what it's like to be around someone like that? \
'''Kitty:''' [[SarcasmMode I can't imagine.]]
** Noah, after seeing Emma ordering Kitty to eat the skewered bugs, bosses Owen around to impress Emma. She berates him for being mean to his partner.
* IceQueen: It's strongly implied that Emma acts cold and rude because she was dumped by her boyfriend a few years ago.
* IconicItem: Kitty's cellphone, which she uses to take photos.
* InSeriesNickname:
** Emma refers to Kitty as "Kit" and "Kits".
** Kitty calls Emma "Em".
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Emma. She's bossy, controlling, and has a real chip on her shoulder but she does genuinely love her sister and felt bad about her behavior during her relationship with Noah.
* {{Kawaiiko}}: Kitty is a hyperactive, energetic GenkiGirl who has an excitable, optimistic personality.
* LoveMakesYouCrazy: Emma is usually pragmatic and levelheaded, but romance has always had a weird effect on her -- which is why she [[CelibateHero gave up dating]] after her first boyfriend dumped her.
--> '''Emma:''' Love turns me into a total nightmare, and nightmares don't win races.
* MagicSkirt: Kitty in "My Way or Zimbabwe", when she and Emma go over Victoria Falls.
* MaleGaze: The camera often focuses on Emma's butt.
* MirrorCharacter:
** At first glance they seem like an [[ExpyCoexistence in-universe expy]] of Amy and Samey, but Kitty has much higher self-esteem and Emma softens as the series progresses. Unlike Amy, who was willing to let Samey ''[[CainAndAbel fall to her death]]'' in "So, Uh, This Is My Team", Emma is genuinely worried when Kitty could drown after she abandons her scuba gear to get unstuck from a rock pile in "Bahamarama".
** Emma is this to Sky: both are (ambiguously) Asian[[note]]though another theory suggests that Sky might be Native American/First Nations, though then again, they're genetically descended from East Asians that crossed over into the Americas from Asia via Siberian-Alaskan land bridges during the last ice age[[/note]], driven, born competitors doing their best to focus on the contest and the ultimate prize, explicitly saying when pressed that they're not in it for relationships … and around the middle of their series, begin falling for an AmbiguouslyBrown fellow contestant who also really likes them back, which threatens to throw their single-minded focus on winning out of whack.
** Kitty is practically an Asian version of Lindsay with a ''significant'' intelligence boost. Both Lindsay and Kitty are cute, peppy girls who make friends very easily and have to deal with an uptight IceQueen for a partner (Heather for Lindsay, and Emma for Kitty). Both also share the same [[Creator/StephanieAnneMills voice actress]].
* MsFanservice: Beyond Emma's butt shots cited above, both are shown in bikinis twice (especially Kitty).
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone:
** Emma gets hit with this hard after she [[spoiler: dumps Noah to focus on the competition, sending him into an AngstComa. She eventually comes clean about why she did it and they agree to get back together after the competition, provided she's the one who wins]]
** In "Last Tango in Buenos Aires," Kitty suffers a brief one after [[spoiler:she accidentally knocked Devin over a cliff while she was tied on top of an emu, forcing the Best Friends to leave the race due to injury. It continues into the next episode, where they called Carrie and Devin their friends, and Kitty still felt bad about it and apologized again.]]
* NiceGirl: Kitty is one of the nicest contestants on the show, easily befriending the Adversity Twins, Best Friends, the Reality Pros, and the Surfer Dudes.
* NeverMyFault: Emma's attitude towards Kitty in "None Down Eighteen To Go - Part 2" and "Bjorken Telephone".
* NotSoAboveItAll: Once Emma gives in to her feelings for Noah, she turns out to be a tad obsessive and needs Kitty to rein her in.
* ObliviousToLove: Despite how obvious it is, it takes a while for Emma to realize Noah has a crush on her.
* OneSteveLimit: Emma shares her name with [[Characters/TotalDramaFrogsOfDeath Emma]], one of the fourth generation contestants of ''[[WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Total Drama Island (2023)]]''.
* OutOfCharacterMoment: Kitty isn't the one taking the Victoria Falls selfie, and we know she ''enjoys'' taking these herself.
* PhoneaholicTeenager: Kitty has a habit of regularly taking selfies during the race. She's so obsessed with it that in "Hawaiian Honeyruin" during a game of charades she chooses a camera.
* PlotHole: Kitty has a cellphone even though it's strongly implied the contestants are supposed to be incapable of contacting their loved ones during the competition (the ability to call someone at home was even offered as a prize in one challenge). A possible explanation for this was that producers allowed Kitty to use her phone but restricted her to just taking photos and selfies with it.
* RedOniBlueOni: Kitty's more excitable, optimistic personality makes her the red to Emma's more serious, competitive blue.
* RescueRomance: Emma is initially wary and distrustful towards Noah but rethinks her opinion of him after he saves her from falling off the Burj Al Arab in "Hello and Dubai".
* RunningGag: Kitty taking selfies and Emma swooning over Noah after they become an OfficialCouple.
* SelfieFiend: How Kitty acts throughout the race, much to Emma's dismay.
* SeriesContinuityError: Kitty says in "French is an Eiffel Language" that [[spoiler: Emma broke up with her previous boyfriend Jake two years prior to the series. But in "Hello and Dubai" she says to Owen that it's been three years since the breakup. Possibly justifiable if the breakup happened towards the end of a calendar year and the show proper takes place close to the start of the current year. In other words, the calendar could indicate it was on its third year, but the actual time elapsed is still closer to two years, and people do sometimes measure the passage of time one way or the other when talking about past events]].
* ShipperOnDeck: Kitty becomes this for Emma and Noah, as well as Carrie and Devin. She and Owen end up bonding over the former.
* SiblingTeam: An older and younger sister pairing.
* SiblingYinYang: Emma's focused on the game, but Kitty just wants to have fun. Later, Emma is more focused on her relationship with Noah, and Kitty is the one who's focused on the game.
* SickeninglySweethearts: Emma ends up becoming this towards Noah.
* SkewedPriorities: Even in a dire situation, such as sliding down a steep hill with a greased rhea, Kitty will try and slip a selfie in.
* SmarterThanYouLook: Kitty behaves like an AsianAirhead, but several episodes demonstrate that she can take responsibility when the situation calls for it. In fact, WordOfGod states that Kitty is actually quite intelligent but, unlike Emma, does not feel the need to show off this trait all the time. This is especially prominent in "Hawaiian Honeyruin" where she's the first one to pick up on the two crushes around her.
* SoProudOfYou: Kitty said this to Carrie when the latter decided to reveal her feelings for Devin.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: They have had quite a lot of focus, especially on Emma's attitude towards Kitty, and that's before Emma's romantic plot with Noah.
* SwappedRoles: [[spoiler:In "Maori or Less", Kitty tries to keep Emma focused on the game to avoid losing both it and Noah when previously, in the first few episodes, it was Emma who tried to keep Kitty focused on the game when all she wanted to do was enjoy all the scenery.]]
* TookALevelInKindness: Emma becomes noticeably less bossy and nicer to Kitty over the course of the season.
* {{Tsundere}}: Emma, to her own dismay, even as a Type B (due to her deeply caring and considerate personality). Kitty's trying to help her be more straightforward about the former's softer side.
* WardrobeMalfunction: Emma mentions that at Emma's seventh pool party birthday, Kitty's bikini got caught in the drain, which ended up being torn off and sucked in.
* TheWorldIsJustAwesome: Kitty is all about this mindset, wanting to genuinely enjoy the game she and her sister are in. Emma, who is focused solely on the prize money, is absolutely not having it.
* YouNeedToGetLaid: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. Kitty strongly believes that Emma needs a new boyfriend.

[[folder:Crimson, Ennui and Loki, Goths]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crimson_ennui_and_loki_6.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350: Left: Ennui. Middle: Loki. Right: Crimson]]
-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/StaceyDePass (Crimson), Creator/CarterHayden (Ennui)
->'''Placement:''' 7th
->'''Eliminated in:''' [[Recap/RidonculousRaceElBunnySupremo Episode 20]]

Two (later three) very morose and morbid goths of few words - or, in Loki's case, no words at all (due to being a rabbit, and all that). Though they show little emotion and greet the world with permanent deadpan stares, they're not bad people inside. Crimson and Ennui are a dating couple.
----

* TenMinuteRetirement: [[spoiler:This happens in Finland where they lost their goth makeup and their confidence along with it, and Ennui decides it's best for them to leave the show. However, the Goths eventually decide to accept each other with their non-goth appearance, and when Ennui spots new outfits in a gothic boutique, their drive to stay in the competition is renewed]].
* AchillesHeel: Josee in an effort to sabotage the Goths concludes that Ennui's love for his bunny, Loki, to be their weakness. [[spoiler:She was right, and the Ice Dancers exploiting this weakness gets the Goths eliminated.]]
* AlwaysABiggerFish: The deodorant both of them wear is made from Komodo Dragon musk ("Komodorant"). In Indonesia, all the komodo dragons ran away from them because they recognized the scent of larger, more powerful komodo dragons coming from them (at least, [[TheDreaded that's what Crimson claims]]).
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: While generally level-headed, they do become easily distracted from the competition by dark and spooky things. In Transylvania they lose their early lead by taking a detour to look at Dracula's paintings, and at the Alberta dude ranch, they go from first to fourth place because they stopped to admire a rotting skull they came across.
* BadassAdorable: Loki, who contributes just as much as Crimson and Ennui.
* BetaCouple: They are this to all the couples of this series.
* BewareTheQuietOnes: This trait keeps them under everyone else's radar for the majority of the race.
* BigOlEyebrows: Ennui. [[spoiler:However, a portion of his big brows is actually makeup]].
* BigNo: Ennui gives his incredibly deadpan version of this when he realizes he's lost Loki.
* BirdsOfAFeather: The fact that they're in a happy and functional relationship isn't at all surprising, considering how similar they are and how many interests they share.
* BornLucky: The two rarely seem to have to put any real effort into the competition to do well, with everything just working out for them despite their slow pace. Ennui even [[LampshadeHanging lampshades this]] during the narwhals ring toss when he just holds a ring out and a narwhal just happens to ring it for him. [[spoiler:The only time their luck runs out is when they are sabotaged by the Ice Dancers stealing Ennui's pet bunny.]]
--> '''Ennui:''' ''(after barely breaking his stride ringing a narwhal)'' ... OK, that was pure luck ... but we don't have to tell them that.
* BrownBagMask: Both wear these to cover their faces in "I Love Ridonc & Roll" [[spoiler:after their goth makeup is ruined]].
* ChastityCouple: They hold hands in the Arctic challenge, but that's about it.
* CollaredByFashion: Ennui wears a spiked collar similar to Duncan's while Crimson wears a red choker.
* TheComicallySerious: When contrasted with the other, more expressive teams.
* ComplimentBackfire: PlayedForLaughs when Devin and Carrie [[spoiler:see Crimson ungothed]].
-->'''Crimson:''' You're throwing a lot of positive emotions my way, and I don't know what to do with that.
* CreepyMonotone: The rare occasions they do speak, it's always this. Even when they scream at the revelation of [[spoiler:seeing each other without goth makeup]], their screams barely show any emotion.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: As stereotypical goths no one seemed to think of them as a genuine threat, Don even claiming [[spoiler:when they're finally eliminated at 7th place out of 18 teams]] that he fully expected them to be the first team sent home.
* CursedWithAwesome: Cute animals flock towards Ennui, and he '''hates''' it.
* DarkIsNotEvil: They're aloof and find pleasure in dark and creepy things, including Transylvania, but they never do anything cruel or mean-spirited. They're genuinely decent people, just not very sociable. [[spoiler:The only team the Goths hold a grudge against are the Ice Dancers, who kidnapped Loki and caused their elimination.]]
* DeathbringerTheAdorable: Seems to be a theme with them.
** They name their pet bunny "Loki", after the Norse god of the same name.
** Ennui mentions that he used to own a black kitten called "Toxic Mold".
* DeathGlare: Ennui actually gives these on two occasions. The first when around bunnies and the second when Josee was glad that a lion swallowed Loki.
* DefiantCaptive: When the Ice Dancers kidnap him in "El Bunny Supremo", Loki does not make things easy for them, constantly attacking Jacques whenever he gets the chance and being responsible for them taking a penalty when he scares their donkeys off.
* DontLookAtMe: Crimson exclaims this in "I Love Ridonc & Roll" after her and Ennui's goth makeup comes off.
* DramaticThunder: During their introduction.
* TheDreaded:
** Don states they freak him out.
** Both of them scare Jay and Mickey in the Parisian catacombs in "French is an Eiffel Language".
** In the Botch or Watch in "Mediterranean Homesick Blues", Crimson manages to scare [[AttackAttackRetreatRetreat an attacking shark away]] and earn her next Travel Tip.
** When collecting Komodo Dragon venom the dragons continuously run away from the Goths in fear ... although Crimson is convinced it's due to their deodorant smelling like Komodo Dragon musk from obviously bigger and stronger dragons than the 'wimps' they're dealing with.
* DullSurprise: Overlapping with FlatJoy, the Goths are near impossible to shock. The one exception was in "I Love Ridonc & Roll" when their makeup melts off and they get un-gothed.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler:They were happy they got to visit Transylvania, Finland and the skull-filled catacombs in Paris, Ennui got a pet in Loki, and they even point out if they ''really'' want the money, they can just go back to Las Vegas and be stage magicians.]]
* EmotionlessGirl: Crimson, although she does come close to showing emotion at times, with Ennui pulling her back in.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: Both of them. [[spoiler:Subverted when their real skin tone and hair color is revealed in "I Love Ridonc and Roll".]]
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** They disapprove of [[spoiler:Stephanie using her Boomerang ticket on Ryan]] in "Lord of the Ring Toss".
---> '''Ennui:''' Even for me, that's dark.
** They find the collapse of the Daters' relationship rather upsetting.
---> '''Crimson:''' It's sad when love turns to poison.
* ExplainExplainOhCrap: Ennui [[InvertedTrope inverts]] it while catching rabbits in Australia. He is disgusted by the rodents' cuteness, and Crimson asks him how could anything that cute could destroy a continent. Over the course of one sentence, Ennui goes from hating them to adopting one.
---> '''Ennui:''' They're like a plague; a happy, hopping wave of famine and death.
* ExtremeOmnivore: The Goths quite possibly have the strongest stomachs on the show. Yes, even better than Owen. They will eat anything no matter how disgusting or spicy, all while maintaining their same emotionless expression and showing no signs of discomfort. Although Crimson almost puked in Morocco when Owen drank camel saliva as well as in China when she had to eat a bunch of fried animals consisting of scorpions, bats, and silkworms on a skewer.
* FirstLove: Considering they started dating when they were only fourteen, this is very likely.
* FlatJoy:
** Their reaction to [[spoiler:winning in Iceland and]] coming to Transylvania.
** When taking a selfie while falling down Victoria Falls in "My Way or Zimbabwe", Ennui gives a flat "wheeee" of enjoyment.
** In the finale Crimson admits to being happy with the Ice Dancers finally eliminated, but does so with the usual lack of expression and monotone voice.
* FreakyFashionMildMind: Despite dressing up in the stereotypical goth attire and freaking out several of the other contestants, they are not purposely mean to anyone, and show unconditional love and support for one another.
* FreakyIsCool:
** They are entranced by all things dark and scary, and the only time they come close to showing excitement is during a trip to Transylvania. Crimson comes so close to expressing outward happiness that Ennui has to pull her back.
** They also take a liking to Devin when he comes bitter and depressed.
---> '''Ennui:''' When did Devin become so... cool?
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Adorable animals love Ennui.
--> '''Crimson:''' Cute and fluffy animals love Ennui. It's adorable.\
'''Ennui:''' I don't want to talk about it.\
'''Crimson:''' We hate adorable.
* GirlishPigtails: Crimson's real hairstyle, [[spoiler:which is hidden under her goth wig.]]
* GoodIsNotNice: Ennui and Crimson are not evil, but they aren't really polite towards other contestants and viewers, with Crimson rudely saying "whatever" several times to them.
* {{Goth}}: They seem to be more of the {{Emo}} variant, as opposed to Gwen's PerkyGoth personality.
* {{Guyliner}}: Ennui, as part of his gothic makeup.
* HiddenDepths:
** They know Icelandic because most of their favorite bands are from Iceland.
** In "Little Bull on the Prairie", Crimson mentions that ranches make her feel nostalgic because she spent a lot of summers at her grandmother's farm. She later implies that she once attempted to ride a bull at said farm, but that she 'doesn't want to talk about it'.
** In the episode "El Bunny Supremo" we learn that Ennui received a black kitten as a child and named it "Toxic Mold", but that it ran away and he never saw it again. It gives a lot more depth to his current relationship with his new pet, Loki the rabbit.
** At one point Ennui loses Loki, and while on many other shows one would expect the stereotypical Goth response to be to shrug and quip about how all life is meaningless or something like that; instead, Ennui is very saddened that he's lost his pet, and Crimson insists they stop competing until they find him.
** Given their reactions upon seeing each other un-gothed for the first time in the 3 years they've been dating, and Crimson's negative reaction the Best Friends complimenting her, it's implied that they might have self-esteem issues.
* HighSchoolSweethearts: This was confirmed by the official FreshTV blog. Crimson and Ennui first met when they coincidentally chose the same dark corner to hide from the other students in. How sweet is that?
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Ennui is one of the tallest contestants in the race, even without his platform boots; Crimson in particular only comes up to about his shoulders.
* HoldingHands: They do this in episode 17, during a confessional. It's adorable.
* HypercompetentSidekick: [[KillerRabbit Loki]], despite the fact the Goths were already pretty competent in their own right.
* IdenticalStranger: While using the trope for historical figures is dubious, it has been shown in "A Tisket, A Casket, I'm Gonna Blow A Gasket" that Vlad the Impaler bears a strong resemblance to Ennui. The Goths themselves even commented on the striking resemblance between Ennui and Vlad.
* KillerRabbit: Loki. [[spoiler:In "El Bunny Surpemo", the Ice Dancers kidnap Loki; however, he breaks free. When the Goths arrive at the Chill Zone in last place, Loki motions to the Ice Dancers that they are dead meat.]]
* {{Leitmotif}}: Dark, creepy music.
* MajorInjuryUnderreaction:
** In "Brazilian Pain Forest", Ennui's hand gets bitten by bullet ants, where he says a very flat "ow", to which Crimson replies, "don't be so dramatic."
** In "El Bunny Supremo", Crimson eats an extremely spicy chili pepper and just stands there with a blank stare for several seconds before giving her own very flat "ow."
* MakeUpOrBreakUp: [[spoiler:They go through this upon seeing each other un-gothed for the first time. Unable to cope with such a huge change, in combination with the new and unwanted attention they're receiving from everyone else, it leads them to not only decide to quit the race, but to break up with each other as well. At the last minute, they decide to try to accept each other for who they are, and in the end the whole ordeal really strengthens their relationship.]]
* MeaningfulName: Each of their names describes both of them pretty well. Crimson for their red outfits, and Ennui for their listless, bored personalities. Their pet bunny, Loki, gets in on this too, being named after the Norse dark god of trickery, and being a {{Pun}} on the fact Loki is also low-key.
* MisunderstoodLonerWithAHeartOfGold: Their gothic appearance and persona tends to freak people out, but they have no malicious attempt and are pretty easy-going despite their odd tastes.
* [[invoked]] NightmareFuel: In-universe. Their stoicness freaks out some of the others, especially Don. It gets much worse when [[spoiler:they get new goth outfits and even scarier makeup]].
* NiceGuy: Despite their Dark Appearance the Goth’s Rival the Best Friends and the Surfers as the most kindhearted team in the Race, [[spoiler: While the only people they actually dislike are the Ice Dancers and even then it’s for completely Justifiable reasons.]]
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Conceptually they're based on Kent & Vyxsin (also known as 'The Dating Goths') from ''Series/TheAmazingRace''.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: [[spoiler: Crimson and Ennui help out the Ice Dancers not only by letting them know that the trophy-shaped lava rock Josee took from Hawaii was actually a very potent bad luck charm, but also by telling the Ice Dancers how to properly dispose of it and break the curse. Several episodes later, Jacques and Josee directly cause the Goths to be eliminated by kidnapping Loki, Ennui's pet rabbit, making the Goths fall too far behind as they searched for the bunny.]]
* NonconformistDyedHair: The Goths, Crimson and Ennui, have black-and-white hair and red-and-black hair, respectively, to complete their eerie vibes. At one point, [[spoiler: they lose their wigs, revealing their natural hair colors (ginger and brunette), which freaks them out so much they try to cover their heads.]]
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: It's subtle, but watch how they blink... they don't, they slowly close and reopen their eyes. The only time they blink normally is when they are un-gothed, and they go right back when they get regothed.
* NoOneGetsLeftBehind: After Ennui loses Loki and is distraught over it, Crimson says outright that "no bunny gets left behind" and they drop everything to find him.
* NoodleIncident: Crimson rode with real bulls before mechanical bulls, though she implies it was harder, but she refuses to go into detail about it.
* NotSoStoic:
** Crimson nearly vomited when she saw Owen drinking camel saliva.
** They're both so happy about getting to visit Transylvania that their body language becomes more expressive and Crimson nearly "gets color in her face", as well as them giving their very first genuine smiles of happiness near the end.
** Crimson nearly vomited again when she had to eat a bunch of fried bats and bugs on a skewer in the China leg.
** Both of them gasp when their makeup starts to melt in a sauna, and they freak out [[spoiler:when they see each other without their goth makeup for the first time, even after dating for 3 years]].
** Crimson can instantly tell that Ennui is distraught after losing his pet bunny, Loki.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: [[spoiler:Losing their make-up leaves them wrecked. Ennui in particular does an over-dramatic air guitar solo that makes the audience boo him. He even tears up]].
* ParrotPetPosition: Ennui's bunny, Loki, who often sits on his shoulders, but is sometimes kept inside his shirt.
* PerpetualFrowner: Their default expression is an indifferent stare.
* PivotalWakeup: When Crimson gets out of the casket, she levitates up without moving a muscle.
* PsychicLink: Ennui shares one with his pet bunny, Loki.
* TheQuietOne: They rarely talk; Ennui was completely silent for the first two episodes and Crimson for the first four. They do speak a bit more as the cast thins, but they're still far from talkative.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Crimson. However, it's subverted since she and Ennui [[DarkIsNotEvil aren't evil]]. [[spoiler: Her natural eye color is blue.]]
* RelationshipReveal: They offhandedly reveal that they've been dating for three years in "I Love Ridonc & Roll".
* SeriousBusiness: They take being goth very seriously, to the point where they'll take time to make anything black.
-->'''Ennui:''' ''(as Crimson is coloring a grass skirt black)'' She ''only'' wears black. Even if it's grass, it must be ''black'' grass.
* SheCleansUpNicely: Both of them are incredibly attractive under their makeup. Of course, Crimson and Ennui don't think so.
* SkewedPriorities: In "Little Bull on the Prairie", they were in first place after completing the mechanical bull ride but dropped down to fourth because they got sidetracked by a skull they found on the way to the Chill Zone.
* ShrinkingViolet: [[spoiler: They're noticeably more insecure and self-conscious without their makeup.]]
* SilentSnarker: Loki is able to convey disgust and anger just from facial expression.
* SitcomArchNemesis: A light version with Don since, while he's annoyed and creeped out by them, Don still treats them fairly while the Goths don't seem to notice or care how much they bother him.
* SixthRanger: Loki after becoming Goths' TeamPet.
* SlowNo: Ennui lets out a remarkably sluggish one in real-time upon [[spoiler:noticing Loki's disappearance]] in "El Bunny Supremo".
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: More along the lines of "psychically communicate with animals", but Ennui appears to be able to read and understand Loki's thoughts and emotions via physical contact.
* StealthHiBye: They have a habit of showing up without warning. Don even requests that a ''bell'' be placed around their necks, since their silent approaches always [[TheDreaded freak him out]].
-->'''Don:''' ''([[SpitTake Spits out his water]])'' How can ANYONE be that silent!? Seriously, can we put a bell around their necks or something?
* StockingFiller: Crimson wears fishnet stockings.
* TheStoic: They don't emote very much, much to Don's chagrin. [[spoiler:However, they exhibit a wider range of emotions after they get un-gothed by a sauna in "I Love Ridonc & Roll".]]
* SuddenlyVoiced: From "French Is An Eiffel Language" onward.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: To Gwen, to an extent. Although they represent a different Goth subculture, being more of the {{Emo}} goth variety, in contrast to Gwen's PerkyGoth. Gwen's Goth friends were the typical Emo goths compared to her.
** To Dawn, both in the way other characters find them creepy, their affinity with animals and general MisunderstoodLonerWithAHeartOfGold status.
* TeamPet: In "Down and Outback", they adopt a black bunny and name it [[MeaningfulName Loki]] thus becoming an official part of the Goths and therefore an official contestant and the first animal one ever.
* ThroatSlittingGesture: Loki does this towards the Ice Dancers in "El Bunny Supremo" [[spoiler:as the Goths were eliminated]].
* TooMuchInformation: In "Little Bull on the Prairie", Don tries to get an explanation for why the Goths came in fourth, and Crimson's explanation made him queasy.
-->'''Don:''' What happened to you two? You were the first to finish the bull ride.\
'''Crimson:''' Yeah, but then we found a skull rotting in the sun. So...\
'''Don:''' Nope! No, no! Stop talking. Forget I asked. You're team number four. Go! ''(the Goths walk away)''
* {{Troll}}: After seeing their reaction (or lack thereof) to [[spoiler:getting first place in Iceland]], Don openly asks them if they're just there for this.
* TrueBeautyIsOnTheInside: [[spoiler:When they get un-gothed and are on the verge of breaking up because they can't handle the change, they decide to try and love each other for who they are, deciding that it's the blackness deep down inside that counts.]]
* VisibleSilence: While there are lots of characters who don't have lines in the early episodes, due to the large cast, with these two it's made clear they intentionally remain silent, even when directly spoken to.
* VocalDissonance: Played with. Their monotone voices are appropriate given their gothic appearance and attitude. [[spoiler:However, it is played straight when they lose their goth makeup in Finland; they still maintain their monotone voices.]]
* WhatIsThisFeeling: When they hear the next challenge will take them to Transylvania.
-->'''Crimson:''' What is this strange feeling?\
'''Ennui:''' I fear it may be... ''([[{{Sting}} Dramatic Sting]])'' happiness.
* WhenSheSmiles: Like typical goths they rarely smile or show any emotion, but when they do smile it's always heartwarming.
* WorthIt: Crimson states this when getting a penalty for letting Ennui take a turn in the casket challenge.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: [[spoiler:When they lose their make-up, Don doesn't believe it's them on the account they don't give him nightmares. They manage to convince it's them by pointing out they have the camera crew shooting them]].

->'''Eliminated in:''' [[Recap/RidonculousRaceGotVenom Episode 18]]

A pair of popular and well-known returning contestants from ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama''. Owen is a big, sweet, gassy, and not-too-bright goofball who loves to eat, while Noah is a BrilliantButLazy, sarcastic, cynical, and condescending bookworm. [[OddFriendship Somehow they're close friends.]]

For their time on ''Total Drama'', see their entries on [[Characters/TotalDramaScreamingGophers Total Drama Screaming Gophers]].
----

* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Noah suffers from this. He claims that he has lost every reality show he's ever been on.
* AcquiredPoisonImmunity: After hanging around with Owen a lot, Noah no longer appears to be effected by his gas, while everyone else is overwhelmed by the smell. He's more annoyed with Owen's lack of restraint than the fart itself.
* AlmostKiss: Noah and Emma on several occasions. [[spoiler: Finally subverted in "Got Venom" when they actually do kiss.]]
* AndTheAdventureContinues: [[spoiler: After their elimination, Noah reveals that they had been asked to appear on another reality show.]]
* BigEater: Owen as usual; however, he draws the line at the Icelandic feast.
* BigGuyLittleGuy: Owen is the duller big guy to Noah's smart little guy.
* BlatantLies: As Owen eats away at his and Noah's cheese wheel, he continually claims that his next bite is his last. Of course, Owen ends up eating the ''entire thing'', forcing Noah to use Owen as the raft.
* BreakoutCharacter: Noah has been a [[EnsembleDarkhorse fan-favorite]] in every previous ''Total Drama'' season he competed in, with fans always feeling he was eliminated too early and requested he return. Noah finally gets his biggest focus yet in ''Ridonculous Race'' likely due to the popular demand.
* CharacterDevelopment:
** Owen's still a silly, fun-loving goofball, but he's noticeably more mature and focused on the race than he was on ''Total Drama''.
** Additionally, during the Ridonculous Race, Owen actually seems more ''embarrassed'' about farting as a few episodes show him somewhat more reluctant and apologetic about his gas, which is a pleasant and amusing development given that his first confessional in ''Island'' had him shamelessly ripping one on live TV. He stayed unashamed of his farts even all the way to All Stars.
** Noah becomes gradually less abrasive and stoic in his relationship with Emma.
* CompanionCube: Owen's teddy bear, until he unwittingly eats it, since he hasn't gotten over his fear of flying. Noah then becomes Owen's unwilling companion cube.
* DeadpanSnarker: Significantly downplayed when compared to ''World Tour'', but Noah still does this from time to time, such as in "Brazilian Pain Forest", after Owen eats a coconut with a potential tip inside.
--> '''Noah:''' Great, let's wait 8 hours and see if there was a tip inside that one.
* DidIJustSayThatOutLoud: Noah keeps doing this when [[spoiler:trying to talk to Emma]] in "New Beijinging".
* DisqualificationInducedVictory: [[spoiler: In "French is an Eiffel Language", they finish the second leg at the exact same time as Pete & Gerry but are spared from a tie/double-elimination because of Gerry's foot being outside the Chill Zone.]]
* DrivesLikeCrazy: Owen doesn't have his driver's license yet, and it ''shows''.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler: Despite losing yet another reality television show, Noah ended up with a girlfriend, something he didn't have before, and considers this "an easy favorite" as far as all the shows he's participated in so far. He also says that he and Owen have already been invited to appear on another reality show.]]
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** Owen, who drank camel drool in Morocco and ate ''way more'' disgusting things during his time on ''Total Drama'', such as literal garbage in ''Island'' and an entire fake buffet made of sawdust and foamcore in ''Action'', was disgusted by the Icelandic feast. However, when Owen did these things he was not really thinking about what he was doing.
** Owen finds Leonard's wannabe-wizard shtick dorky, despite being somewhat of an oddball himself.
* ExtremeOmnivore: Owen as usual. However, he draws the line with what he'll eat at the Icelandic feast. He does eventually eat it, although his hesitation is notable.
* FatAndSkinny: Owen's the Fat to Noah's Skinny.
* FirstLove: Owen claims in "Little Bull on the Prairie" that Noah has never had a girlfriend before Emma. Which makes their break up all the more heartbreaking for Noah.
* FreudianSlip: Noah accidentally says he's focused on Emma instead of the race in Finland.
* TheFriendsWhoNeverHang: They've known Geoff for [[ComicBookTime a significant amount of time]] but they bearly say a word to him on this show. Justified with Noah given his anti-social nature and the fact that he never significantly interacted with Geoff on Total Drama, but Owen and Geoff were frinds in the later half of "Island".
* GleefulAndGrumpyPairing: Owen is an optimistic goofball while Noah is the stoic DeadpanSnarker...at least at first.
* GoldDigger: Noah is rather glad [[spoiler: to be in a relationship with Emma. He says he's now dating a lawyer, so]] he'll never have to work again.
* GracefulLoser: [[spoiler:They're not particularly upset about losing because they've both benefited in other ways -- Owen got to spend time with his favorite person and Noah now has a future with Emma.]]
* HeroicBSOD: [[spoiler:When an unsure Emma breaks up with Noah, he becomes a total wreck for a whole episode.]]
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Noah is still Owen's little buddy, and they have been hanging together all this time since ''World Tour''.
* HypocriticalHumor: Owen called the Iceland feast gross, yet he drank a camel's saliva in Morocco. He also ate much worse things during his time on ''Total Drama'', particularly the "Brunch of Disgustingness" in ''Island''.
* InformedAttractiveness: In ''Ridonculous Race'', Emma gushes over Noah's looks, including that his butt is "like two apples suspended in mid-air." His butt is drawn completely flat in the art style.
* KissingInATree: Owen teases Noah using this statement in "New Beijinging".
* TheLoad:
** Owen's appetite nearly cost them the race in the 3rd episode, see LoopholeAbuse below.
** Subverted in other episodes, with Owen doing his best in the challenges, plus saving Noah's life in the first episode and later helping him with his crush on Emma, which ends up debilitating Noah for the rest of the season.
** Noah is stuck in [[spoiler:a [[HeroicBSOD rejection-induced coma]]]] for most of "Little Bull on the Prairie", which forces Owen to physically carry him through the challenges.
* LoopholeAbuse: Owen tries to invoke this in "French is an Eiffel Language" by claiming that Noah rode and carried the cheese wheel (which Owen ate) inside him, but Don wasn't having any of it and slapped a 20-minute penalty against them.
* LoveMakesYouDumb: Noah starts acting weird and unresponsive after he falls for Emma, which makes Owen believe that he's getting ill. Kitty ends up having to spell it out for him. He snaps out of the unresponsive part after "Hawaiian Honeyruin", though he still makes quite a few social gaffes.
-->'''Kitty:''' He just likes my sister.\
'''Owen:''' But he's being so goofy and awkward and-- ''(eyes widen)'' Ohhh.
* LoveRedeems: Downplayed but after falling in love with Emma, Noah begins to soften up.
* MomentKiller:
** Owen, though he tries not to be.
** Noah threatens to become one for [[MistakenForGay Geoff and Brody]] after they ruin his opportunity to kiss Emma in "Maori or Less".
---> '''Noah:''' If I ever see the Surfer Dudes trying to kiss, I'm going to interrupt them.
* MortonsFork: In "Got Venom", Noah notes that he's actually encountered a rare positive-outcome inversion of this; if he wins, he gets 1 million dollars. If he loses, [[spoiler: he's dating a lawyer, so he'll never have to work again]].
--> [[spoiler: "This race has become a win-win situation; the second Emma or I get booted, I get to date the hottest girl alive. So if [Owen and I] win the race... [[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment I win.]] And if we get eliminated... I still win!"]]
* NauseaFuel: Owen drinking camel saliva is this InUniverse to the point that almost ''everyone'' vomited.
** Also Owen kissing a komodo dragon made Noah barf.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: It's more obvious with them as a duo that they're essentially an animated version of Chris Farley and David Spade.
* NotSoStoic: Noah at times.
** Noah loses his cool when he was nearly blown away in the Sky Deck challenge.
** Noah freaks out when he sees Owen eating one of the cheese wheels in Paris.
** Anything involving Emma brings this out in him.
* OlderThanTheyLook: It's been several years since ''Island'' where they were 16 years old, but their appearance remains unchanged since then.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Owen automatically knows that something's up when he notices that Noah's not acting like his quick-witted, sarcastic self.
* PunnyName: Owen named his teddy bear Beary.
* RescueRomance: Noah manages to gain Emma's trust by saving her when she falls off her cleaning platform in "Hello and Dubai".
* RousingSpeech: Owen combines this with QuitYourWhining when Noah refuses to perform the air guitar challenge in "I Love Ridonc & Roll". [[spoiler:It works.]]
-->'''Owen:''' Racing with you has been the most fun ever. [[ItMakesSenseInContext There's no one in the world I'd rather eat eyeballs with.]] But if we get eliminated, it's over for us ''and'' for you and Emma. Is that really what you want?\
'''Noah:''' Gee, big guy, I... [[SarcasmFailure I don't know what to say...]]\
'''Owen:''' Shhh. You need to stop worrying about being some girl's hero and be ''my'' hero.
* SarcasmFailure: Noah can't bring himself to say anything snarky or insincere after hearing Owen's speech in "I Love Ridonc & Roll".
* SecurityBlanket: Owen had a teddy bear to keep him calm while flying, at least until he accidentally ate it. [[SecurityCling Noah now acts as an unwilling substitute for it.]]
* SeriesContinuityError: Owen mentions [[spoiler:during his and Noah's elimination that he is okay that they didn't win since he already won a million dollars. Owen only won a hundred thousand dollars previously on Total Drama Island. Though it may be possible that [[OffscreenMomentOfAwesome he won a million dollars offscreen]] during one of the reality shows he and Noah have participated in over the years.]]
* SequelHook: [[spoiler:During the last few seconds of "Got Venom", Noah starts to tell Owen that they've been invited to participate in the next season of a certain show [[TheUnreveal but the transmission ends before we can hear him say the title.]]]]
* ShipperOnDeck: Once he's clued into it, Owen becomes this for Emma and Noah.
* SmartJerkAndNiceMoron: Downplayed. Noah's intelligent but is a JerkWithAHeartOfGold, while Owen is a NiceGuy and although not totally stupid, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Surprisingly enough, Noah, starting after he notices Emma a third of the way through the season.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: [[spoiler: Noah's initial reaction to Emma calling off their relationship is similar to how Dave reacted when Sky broke his heart in ''Pahkitew Island''. Ultimately subverted in that Noah did end up rekindling with Emma by the time of his elimination while Dave further devolved into an insane psycho hell-bent on revenge against Sky when he learns that she already had a boyfriend back home]].
* TheStoic: Noah kept the same annoyed expression on his face when Owen farted and the fumes filled the elevator in the first episode.
* TookALevelInBadass: They're both much more competent on the race than they were on ''Total Drama'', attributed to years of mostly-offscreen reality TV experience.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Compared to his portrayal as a more nuanced JerkWithAHeartOfGold during his time in ''World Tour'', Noah starts off the season much meaner, even compared to his brief time on ''Island''. He didn't go out of his way to be a dick on ''Total Drama'', but here he acts surprised and unwell when he starts doing nice things. Possibly justified, as it had been stated he has lost every reality show he's been on, including a few in the interim, so the bitterness of losing could easily have gotten to him.
* TookALevelInKindness: Noah begins to soften up after falling in love with Emma, which leads to him helping Mickey out in Hawaii because he finds him [[ShrinkingViolet too pathetic]] to abandon.
* {{Transplant}}: Both hail from the original ''Total Drama''.
* VitriolicBestBuds: A one-sided variation on Noah's end. He may snark a lot about Owen's flatulence and constant overeating, but they're good friends nonetheless.
* WrongGenreSavvy: Owen assumes Don is like Chris, willing to allow LoopholeAbuse, but is proven wrong when he slaps a 20-minute penalty on them.

Sickly but determined twin brothers with all the bad luck in the world, as well as countless physical ailments, phobias, and allergies. No one who knew them believed they'd even last an hour in the race but they entered anyway. Maybe they're not as pitiful as they seem?
----
* AbsurdPhobia: They're afraid of pencils, sand, spiders, werewolves, heights, squeegee sounds, germs, and being on stage.
* AchievementInIgnorance: In "Hello and Dubai", Jay passes out from squeegee sounds and his fainting motion causes him to hit the tennis ball with enough force to be a winning shot.
* ActorAllusion: This isn't the first time Mickey went on stage to play a guitar, with his voice actor best known for the role of [[WesternAnimation/GrojBand Corey Riffin]].
* AcquiredPoisonImmunity: Mickey has been bitten by so many venomous creatures, he's become immune to it. This comes in handy in "Brazilian Pain Forest" when he doesn't feel the effects of the bullet ants.
* AlwaysIdenticalTwins: Which is probably why they share the same illnesses and misfortunes.
* ArcNumber: In the first four challenges, the two place 12th, they end up [[spoiler:leaving in 12th place, and appear in 12 episodes of the season.]] This is [[{{Foreshadowing}} foreshadowed]] in the first episode, where Mickey says they're not cursed, but they might be whatever comes before cursed. [[ThirteenIsUnlucky 13 is usually considered bad luck, and 12 is right before that.]]
* BigBrotherInstinct: It's subtle, but Jay seems to be a bit more confident and the less-wimpy leader of the two. Shown best in "None Down, Eighteen To Go - Part 1" where he carries Mickey up the stairs, when the latter can no longer continue.
* BornUnlucky: They are tied with Dwayne for the unluckiest characters in the race.
** It's implied they are actually cursed, being afflicted with every possible allergy, phobia, accident, disorder and ailment, to the point where Harold and Cody get off lightly. Makes one wonder why they even signed up for the race.
** Played with in "Hello and Dubai" where they experience good luck for the first time after all of the bad luck gets sucked up by the Ice Dancers due to their ArtifactOfDoom.
* ButtMonkey: With a label like the "Adversity Twins", it's a given. They're easily pushed around by stronger, meaner players like Taylor or the Ice Dancers.
* TheChewToy: Rarely an episode goes by without something unfortunate happening to them.
* DelicateAndSickly: As part of their BornUnlucky shtick, they are plagued with every possible allergy and ailment. Their allergies include confetti, cinnamon, orchids, and grass skirts. They also have asthma, lactose intolerance, eczema, altitude intolerance, chronic nose bleeds, and temperature insensitivity. Apparently that's not the whole list. Despite or because all of this, they are meant to be seen as cute and sympathetic.
* {{Determinator}}: Despite all the difficulties life throws at them, they just keep trucking along. [[spoiler: After their elimination, they mention how nobody believed they would have even survived the competition as long as they have, yet they still did through sheer willpower.]] Their doctors believed they'd be dead within a week, and their gym coach just laughed when they said they were entering the competition.
* DisabilityImmunity:
** Despite his countless allergies, Mickey gets past the bullet ants without any trouble in "Brazilian Pain Forest" because he's been bitten by so many things over the years that he's become immune to all forms of venom.
** Also zig-zagged in "I Love Ridonc & Roll", where they trump the Dry Sauna All-In due to their "temperature dyslexia"; while they do suffer from burns and frostbite in extreme cases, the twins are relatively unaffected by the drop or increase in temperature.
* IdenticalTwinIDTag: Jay's hoodie is a darker shade of blue and is green on the inside. Mickey's hoodie is orange on the inside. Mickey also wears the helmet, has a gap in between his teeth, and has a higher voice than his brother.
* IronButtMonkey: They get hurt so often, they think they're the next closest thing to being cursed.
* {{Leitmotif}}: A sad violin tune.
* MirrorCharacter:
** They bear striking resemblance to Cameron's [[http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/totaldramaisland/images/4/43/Cameron_Original.png/revision/latest?cb=20120128012154 original design]], and are physically like him as well.
** Like Amy and Samey, Jay and Mickey are identical twins who competed on the same team and got eliminated together. While Amy and Samey absolutely ''despise'' each other, Jay and Mickey have never shown any major conflict between each other.
* NeverBareheaded: Mickey is never seen without his helmet.
* NiceGuy: They're immensely kind to others and describe themselves as gentlemen.
* NoodleIncident: Jay, as they're about to descend into the Parisian catacombs: "I hope I don't get the plague again."
* OlderThanTheyLook: They're 16 years old, but look more like they're the same age as Junior.
* ReusedCharacterDesign: Jay and Mickey were based on Cameron's prototype design.
* SiblingTeam: Consisting of identical twin brothers.
* ShrinkingViolet: WordOfGod compares them to timid animals at the bottom of the food-chain.
* SoProudOfYou: Even Don is proud of the brothers for making it to a respectful 12th place despite the overwhelming disadvantages they were faced with.
* TerrifiedOfGerms:
** In the second episode Mickey asks Jay if he wants some hand sanitizer, only for Jay to reveal that he's wearing gloves.
** {{Exploited|Trope}} by Emma in "I Love Ridonc and Roll" when she convinces Mickey that his air guitar has germs on it, causing him to break out in hives from stressing out about it.
* UninhibitedMusclePower: Mickey gets a burst of strength in Transylvania, lifting up a coffin with his brother in it above his head. Though he collapses from the weight a few seconds later.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Pretty much "Why Did It Have To Be '''Anything'''" for these two. Check AbsurdPhobia above.

A lovey-dovey couple that met at the gym and have been attached to each other ever since. Ryan is a massive bodybuilder whose hulking form belies his calm nature (though he does have limits to his patience), while Stephanie is fuelled with a fiery sense of passion that can get the better of her.
----
* AbortedArc: Ryan's OddFriendship with Carrie is suddenly dropped without explanation in his final episode.
* ActionGirl: Stephanie can be very violent and aggressive. Not to mention having incredible strength, beating a full-grown male lion to a pulp.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: A very odd example, as they started off being SickeninglySweethearts, before progressing to a BelligerentSexualTension, and afterwards keep jumping back and forth from loving to hating each other.
* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: Stephanie wears a small crop, while her boyfriend Ryan doesn't.
* BelligerentSexualTension: After their breakup they make an effort to [[DefiedTrope defy]] this and stay enemies, as the ThePowerOfHate makes them more efficient. It doesn't quite work out.
--> '''Stephanie:''' The hate thing is really working for us and I don't want to ruin that.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Ryan is usually a GentleGiant; however, Stephanie often tests his patience, which causes him to lose his cool.
* BridalCarry: Ryan had to do this to Stephanie in the Hawaii leg for a challenge while having to deal with Stephanie's "race rage". He carries Stephanie all the way to the chill zone where he later breaks up with her.
* BoyishShortHair: Stephanie has short hair with an undercut, which fits with her athletic, fiery personality.
* BullyingADragon: Stephanie takes pleasure in insulting Ryan, the strongest person on the race. Ryan stated this in one episode.
-->'''Ryan:''' You're shouldn't insult someone that can drop you onto hot coals!
* CompetitionFreak: Stephanie seems to be this, which is shown when she starts ranting in "Bjorken Telephone", and when she threatens Ryan not to make a mistake ever again, in "French is an Eiffel Language". This is played straight in "Hawaiian Honeyruin" where Ryan says she becomes a monster when things get competitive.
* DraggedIntoDrag: Stephanie forces Ryan to wear a dress for the magic challenge in the Las Vegas portion of the race to humiliate him on international television. Ryan did not like having to wear the dress one bit.
* DeadpanSnarker: Ryan, although it's mostly directed at Stephanie.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: Stephanie hates beans.
* DoubleStandardAbuseFemaleOnMale: Stephanie frequently bullies, abuses and assaults Ryan, even for the most minor mistakes he does.
* FakeMuscles: Implied or rather an insult by Stephanie that most of Ryan's upper body are implants.
* FemaleFighterMaleHandler: Stephanie is hyper-competitive and aggressive, and Ryan has to rein her in, although she fights with Ryan more often than other contestants.
* {{Foil}}:
** To the Ice Dancers. Both the Daters and the Ice Dancers are athletic-minded pairs with a SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl and HugeGuyTinyGirl dynamic. Both Ryan and Jacques are {{Top Heavy Guy}}s who tend to be the voice of reason while both Stephanie and Josee are [[CompetitionFreak hyper-competitive]] and have {{Hair Trigger Temper}}s. While the Ice Dancers were the main antagonists of the season and had significant interactions with other teams, namely the Police Cadets, the Daters were [[SatelliteCharacter largely relegated to their own storyline]].
** In episode 7, to the Bloggers. While Stephanie is only keeping up the veneer of not being a control freak to Ryan, Tom and Jen were both fighting for who was the creator of their blog. And while Stephanie slowly devolved into belittling and insulting Ryan, Jen and Tom slowly patched up their differences, until the end where Jen was wholeheartedly cheering for Tom. [[spoiler: The biggest contrast come at the end of the episode, where the Daters just barely make it, but Stephanie is ''pissed'' at Ryan, while the Bloggers lost but their friendship is stronger than ever and they leave the show on good terms.]]
* GentleGiant: Ryan is easily the most muscular member of the cast, but he's a pretty calm guy... unless Stephanie's needling him at the moment. Though rarely, if ever, takes it out on the other contestants.
* HairTriggerTemper: Stephanie can flip out at a moment's notice. Ryan calls this temper "Race Rage".
* HartmanHips: Along with the likes of Taylor, Carrie & Emma, Stephanie has one of the biggest hips among the female contestants in ''The Ridonculous Race''.
* HeelRealization: Stephanie realises in "Darjeel With It" that she harshly treated Ryan throughout the race and [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone is regretful for this.]]
* HotBlooded: Stephanie to a T. Especially she lets our her competitive side.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: While Stephanie isn't particularly small, she is compared to Ryan, who is the largest cast member in ''The Ridonculous Race''.
* InSeriesNickname: The "Haters", which Don has officially started referring to them as.
* JerkassToOne: Ryan becomes this to Stephanie after they break up in response to her angry outbursts. Otherwise, he's sociable and easygoing with everyone else.
* {{Leitmotif}}: When they're not fighting there is some starry romantic music.
* LoveAtFirstSight: Implied when Ryan said that they been going steady since they met at the gym. Deconstructed as the season goes on and Stephanie turns out extremely different from what Ryan thought she was, resulting in their breakup a third of the way in.
* TheMasochismTango: They slowly fell into this as the race goes on and Stephanie's competitive side came out. [[spoiler:They even broke up at the end of the Hawaii leg]].
* MakeOutKids: Like Geoff and Bridgette circa ''Action'', they're often seen making out. This gets tossed out the window once Stephanie turns competitive.
* ManChild: WordOfGod claims they're both in their early twenties (Stephanie is 21 and Ryan is 22), yet both of them (mostly Stephanie, but Ryan has his moments too) tend to act even more childish and immature than the ''Stepbrothers''!
* MirrorCharacter:
** Stephanie does share a lot of the mannerisms of the SassyBlackWoman with Leshawna, while also behaving like Courtney in ''Action'' except if the latter was more unstable.
** Additionally, in the tradition of Eva and Jo, Stephanie is an athletic woman with an unpleasant and fierce personality.
** Ryan plays the part of the GentleGiant which is very reminiscent of DJ, while also sharing a bit of Courtney's unstable attitude in ''Action''.
** After their breakup, the way they treat each other while trying to deny that they blatantly '''STILL''' have feelings for one another would strike one as a poor man's version of Duncan & Courtney back when they were still a couple. Not helped is that just like with Duncney, it's hinted that this isn't the first time they've broken up only to reconcile later.
* MsFanservice: Stephanie has a curvy figure and her gym clothes shows off her cleavage and long legs. Not to mention having childbearing hips and a large juicy butt...A true example of "Baby Got Back"!
* MusclesAreMeaningless: Stephanie and a few others clearly overclass Ryan in Physical Strength.
* NeverMyFault: Stephanie blames Ryan for everything and accuses him for stuff even she does herself.
* NiceGuy: Ryan. He's a calm and friendly GentleGiant who manages to befriend Carrie, of all people, and is one of the nicer contestants... unless Stephanie's meddling him at the moment. Though he rarely, if ever, takes it out on the other contestants.
* NotSoAboveItAll: While Ryan is usually the straight man and a pretty NiceGuy, he can absolutely get petty when Stephanie is involved after their relationship goes sour.
* OddFriendship: Ryan forms one with Carrie, connecting over their less than ideal relationships. As mentioned above, it's all but dropped without explanation in his final episode.
* PitbullDatesPuppy: The aggressive Stephanie is paired with the laid-back Ryan.
* PlotArmor: Avoided getting eliminated twice before their actual elimination due to the episodes they were last in being non-elimination rounds.
* RageBreakingPoint: Ryan's patience with Stephanie's [[CompetitionFreak over-competitiveness]] runs out in "Hawaiian Honeyruin", resulting in their breakup.
-->'''Ryan:''' Your "race rage" is out of control, and I am ''this close'' to leaving!\
'''Stephanie:''' I'm sorry, what?! "Race rage"?!\
'''Ryan:''' You are sweet, Stephanie. But when things get competitive, you turn into a raging, psychotic bull!\
'''Stephanie:''' [[PunctuatedForEmphasis Bulls... are...]] ''[[PunctuatedForEmphasis male]]''!!!\
'''Ryan:''' Whatever! She-bull!
* RealMenWearPink: Ryan has no problem wearing a pink shirt for such a hulking looking gymnastics.
* RedOniBlueOni: Stephanie is in the red due to her tendency to go into race rage and her constant shouting and Ryan is in the blue due to his laid back nature. They did not show this early in the race but its most prominent in the Hawaii portion of the race but it starts to subvert after they become the haters.
* RevengeBeforeReason: In "Lord of the Ring Toss", [[spoiler:Stephanie decides to Boomerang Ryan out of spite while they're in second place, which nearly ends up getting them eliminated.]]
* SatelliteCharacter: Just like Mother & Daughter and the Stepbrothers, they have virtually next to no reason for being in the game other than their extremely unhealthy and toxic relationship with each other. The only other characters that they interact with are Stephanie with Kitty in "Hawaiian Honeyruin" and Ryan with Carrie in his last few episodes as part of their OddFriendship.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: Later episodes show clear signs of this when Stephanie's {{tsundere}} personality becomes more apparent.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Ryan's the Manly to Jacques' Sensitive. An example of this is in "Dude Buggies." Jacques loves wearing a dress, while Ryan hates the absolute idea of doing so.
* SeriesContinuityError: The first episode establishes that they've been dating for two months and six days prior to the series. Later into the show's run, this suddenly changes to where they're said to have been dating for at least a year.
* SickeninglySweethearts: Stephanie will often swoon at the most insignificant things Ryan says or does. Not so much later on...or at all. [[spoiler:They eventually revert back to this by the time they are eliminated.]]
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: Part of why Stephanie is into Ryan is that he's just simply a NiceGuy, not just to her (at least before their breakup), but also to everyone else (including Carrie).
* SkewedPriorities: [[spoiler: They insist on stopping right before the Chill Zone to correct Don about their name being changed from the Haters back to the Daters, even if though they could have easily taken fourth place and kick the Ice Dancers from the competition.]]
* SmallNameBigEgo: Stephanie constantly brags how great she is. While she has the strength to prove it, she hardly win any challenges without Ryan's help. When she tries to prove that the challenge in "Lord of the Ring Toss" is easy, it took her more than thirty-six tries to do so, each time giving excuses as to why she fail.
* SpiritedCompetitor: Ryan is one. Stephanie is one too, for all of about a few seconds before her competitive side takes over.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: They start to get a lot more attention after their breakup in "Hawaiian Honeyruin", especially because of their VolleyingInsults habit.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: After their breakup, it's almost as bad, if not worse, than the Stepbrothers. However, like the Stepbrothers, Ryan and Stephanie reconcile just in time to be eliminated.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: Stephanie refuses to allow Ryan to ''ever'' forget that he dumped her on international TV.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Ryan is one for the [[spoiler:"Axis of Evil" along with Sanders. Though the Daters might be this in general since they are the only team that thinks it's an alliance to the end]]
* TookALevelInJerkass: After they broke up, although Stephanie more so than Ryan.
* TopHeavyGuy: Ryan. He describes himself as "75% upper body".
* {{Tsundere}}: Stephanie's mostly a Type A on her case (even before this team became "The Haters", and later switched back to their original identity) due to her ambitions (which includes her spiteful feelings towards her boyfriend during their romantic split), while Ryan is more of a Type B for his own case because he's openly much softer than his girlfriend is.
* UnstoppableRage: Stephanie is very dangerous when angered.
* VolleyingInsults: After their breakup, all of their conversations consist of this [[FlatCharacter and it's pretty much the only thing they actually contribute to the plot]].

Silver medalist Olympians from {{UsefulNotes/Quebec}} who entered ''The Ridonculous Race'' to help salvage their reputations after Jacques dropped Josee during their performance and the two became national embarrassments. Wickedly devious, wickedly capable and sometimes just plain wicked, they'll do anything to win.
----
* TheAce: They excel at anything physical, effortlessly performing flips and figure skating poses. They have come in first more than any other team in the race. However they do have one crucial weakness...
* AchillesHeel: Josee's one weakness is that she is extremely claustrophobic.
* AffectionateNickname: Jacques refers to Josee as ''mon petit chou''[[note]]my little pastry[[/note]], a French term of endearment.
* AlphaBitch: Josee is a rare adult version, given how she regularly bullies Jacques and belittles other teams, particularly the Cadets and the Sisters.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: They get enraged at [[SecondPlaceIsForLosers coming any lower than first]], which happens a lot.
* AmbiguouslyGay: Jacques [[AlwaysCamp is a figure skater]] with a flamboyantly effeminate manner, including an interest in wearing dresses in "Dude Buggies," and ScreamsLikeALittleGirl. However his orientation is never elaborated on. Though it appears his relationship with his racing partner Josee is purely platonic.
* AmusingInjuries: Jacques often falls victim to this, particularly against the lion in "Dude Buggies".
* AntiVillain: [[spoiler: They aren't necessarily evil, but they do have an unhealthy obsession with winning.]]
* ArchEnemy: To the Police Cadets who constantly clash throughout the race, especially after the events of "Shawshank Ridonc-tion". In particular, Josee and [=MacArthur=], coming in first remains a high priority for the Ice Dancers, but eliminating the Cadets becomes a prime objective for Josee.
* AttentionWhore: They have a habit of hogging the camera with huge smiles on their faces.
* ArtifactOfDoom: The lava rock Josee acquired in "Hawaiian Honeyruin" serves as this.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: As spiteful as their bickering can be, they still have moments where they demonstrate genuine affection for each other. Jacques comforts Josee whenever her {{claustrophobia}} kicks in and Josee gives him a hug when [[spoiler:he sacrifices his hairdo so that they can win the Argentina leg.]]
* AxCrazy: Josee has no qualms about hurting people, ''especially'' if the person in question is Jacques. She even bursts out laughing when she believes that Ennui's bunny, Loki, got eaten by a lion.
* BadLuckCharm: After Josee loses her LuckyRabbitsFoot, she finds a lava rock shaped like a trophy in Hawaii. However, after claiming the rock, she and Jacques start slipping in placements and become more accident prone. This is resolved by taking a detour in the middle of the competition to return the rock to Hawaii before finishing the leg in Zimbabwe.
* BeautyIsBad: Mainly applies to Josee, but they're both extravagant and flamboyant while still being cruel and sore losers.
* BerserkButton:
** [[SecondPlaceIsForLosers Not coming in first]]. While "silver" or "second place" seems to give Jacques nightmares, Josee ''flips out'' in the confessional after she hears the phrase "third place". Then they start coming in fourth place and not making the podium; neither of them takes it well.
** They also really hate it when there's a team that they can't intimidate or manipulate, which is the source of their distaste for the Surfers, the Goths, the Sisters and ''especially'' the Police Cadets.
** Dismissing a gold medal as unimportant will make them furious. When Dwayne does so, the Ice Dancers are quick to try and run him over.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Despite being over the top {{Large Ham}}s, the Ice Dancers are dangerous competitors.
%% BigBad requires that the villain cause the plot to happen, and Jacques and Josee do not qualify because the race would go on without them.
* BigBadSlippage: As the race progresses, Jacques and Josee's competitive fire eventually gets the better of them, resulting in a "win at any cost" attitude which leads them to increasingly villainous behavior, most notably their willingness to sabotage the other teams or simply cheat. As they spiral further into [[CardCarryingVillain cartoonish villainy]], Josee gains an evil laugh, a {{death glare}}, and a flaming background.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Seemingly nice with smiles plastered on their faces, but they have a more sinister side underneath, especially Josee. Jacques, on the other hand, seems to be more "Sheep" than "Bitch" at times, but the series does remind the viewers why they get along at all. Ennui calls Josee out on this in "Down and Outback" when she pretends to act friendly in an attempt to borrow his makeup.
-->'''Josee:''' ''(to Ennui)'' Oh! Hey there... buddy. Do you mind if I borrow some of your makeup? ''(smiles and laughs nervously)''\
'''Ennui:''' Don't pretend to be friendly. It's gross.
* BreakThemByTalking:
** In "Lord of the Ring Toss", Josee plays mind games with the Surfer Dudes, making Geoff think that Brody felt he was a hindrance in order to drive a wedge between them. However, this [[SubvertedTrope ultimately backfires]] when Brody and Geoff's friendship proves too strong.
** In "Got Venom", she tries this again with the Goths, but the Goths were [[AvertedTrope unfazed]].
* BridalCarry: Played with during "Hawaiian Honeyruin". In their first attempt at walking across hot coals, Jacques carries Josee over his head in their usual over the top fashion. It is then inverted in their second attempt, with Josee carrying Jacques and finally played straight in their third attempt with Jacques carrying Josee normally.
* BumblingSidekick: How Josee views Jacques at times, especially whenever he drops her.
* BullyAndWimpPairing: A rare mixed gender variation, Josee is the Bully to Jacques's (emotional) Wimp.
* CardCarryingVillain: At first they just seemed over-competitive (especially Josee), but by the episode "Ca-Noodling" they outright claim they deserve a gold medal in treachery for [[spoiler:getting the Goths eliminated]], and join with the Police Cadets and the Daters in what they proudly refer to as the "Axis of Evil".
* CameraAbuse: In Romania, Josee violently flips the coffin Jacques is in, and his face keeps getting slammed against the night vision camera inside the coffin.
* CheatersNeverProsper: ZigZagged.
** Subverted in "Down and Outback". They first make a regular bunny look like the albino bunny to fool the Cadets, then they trick the Surfer Dudes into helping the Cadets, stealing the former's bunnies in the process. When the Ice Dancers arrive first in New Zealand, Don suspects that their win was illegitimate, but he says doesn't care enough to look into it.
** Played straight in "Lord of the Ring Toss". Josee [[BreakThemByTalking plays mind games]] with the Surfer Dudes, making Geoff think that Brody felt he was a hindrance; however, the Surfer Dudes' friendship proves too strong.
** Played with in "Got Venom". Josee's attempts to sabotage other teams allows them to get a bucket of komodo dragon drool without any effort, but they're devastated to find they placed second.
** Subverted again in "How Deep is Your Love". Josee steals Kitty's ball and smashes her helmet light. When the Ice Dancers reach the Chill Zone, Don slaps them with a 30 minute penalty for not going all the way to the bottom. [[spoiler:Despite the penalty, they still come in first]].
** Played straight in "Darjeel With It". The Ice Dancers [[DickDastardlyStopsToCheat uncouple the rest of the train, leaving only their car attached to the engine]]. When the train arrives at the station minus several cars, Don gives them a one hour penalty. [[spoiler: Had the Daters not hesitated, the Ice Dancers would've been eliminated.]]
** Played with again in "Last Tango in Buenos Aires", where Jacques tries to sabotage the Sisters by pouring olive oil on their emu. However the olive oil causes him to continuously slip and fall over. They do however succeed in delaying the Sisters and end up placing first.
** Finally played straight in "A Million Ways to Lose a Million Dollars", where after spending a whole season of cheating, including in the finale where they ram the Surfers' cab and stealing the Police Cadets cab. [[spoiler:However the Police Cadets end up ramming their cab, causing them to tip upside down and coming in third place, finally getting eliminated.]]
* TheChewToy:
** Josee often treats Jacques like one.
** Jacques becomes a lion's literal chew toy in "Dude Buggies".
* ChildhoodFriends: Jacques states he's had put up with Josee for 14 years. Based on the ages provided by WordOfGod, this means they've known each other since they were at least 8 and 6 years old.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder:
** Their alliance with the Police Cadets lasts for about half an episode before they betray them and sabotage their ice yacht in Siberia.
** After [=MacArthur=] rescues her during scuba diving challenge in Bahamas, saving her from suffocation or being eliminated, Josee repays her by lobbing a coconut at her head during the race to the Chill Zone.
* {{Claustrophobia}}: Josee, who's even worse than Gwen and Jasmine. She will have severe panic attacks and hyperventilating or screaming as soon she is in a small space.
** In "Shawshank Ridonc-tion", Josee believes that the air is running out in the cell. Jacques tries to calm her down, telling her that there's plenty of air in the cell, to no avail; however, Josee's panicking eventually breaks them out.
** In "How Deep Is Your Love", she does not look forward to going down into the Kola Borehole, but does so because Jacques' upper body strength is needed to operate the crank above. After being lowered a only a few hundred feet Josee demands that Jacques pull her back up.
** In "Bahamarama", the second challenge is a "Random Botch"; since Josee took the Travel Tip, she has to dive underwater into a cavern, a task she does not look forward to. Of course, her panicking quickly drains her oxygen supply.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: When Don calls them out for cheating in "Darjeel With It" and slaps them with a one hour penalty, Josee cannot understand what Don has against them.
--> '''Josee:''' What does Don have against us?! Are we too talented, too attractive, too all of the above?!
* CompetitionFreak: Both will not settle for anything less than first place; however, Josee is the more rabid of the two.
-->''(after Don reveals that the Adversity Twins checked in before the Ice Dancers)''\
'''Jacques:''' You mean, WE'RE FOURTH?! We didn't make the podium ''at all''?!\
'''Don:''' ''(confused)'' What podium? There is no podium.\
'''Josee:''' There is ''always'' a podium!
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: As the main villains of ''Ridonculous Race'', they really distance themselves from the ''Total Drama'' villains that came before them. Firstly, Josee and Jacques did not start off as the obvious antagonists from the start, simply being {{Competition Freak}}s who took themselves a little too seriously. Most ''Total Drama'' villains were out to cause trouble from the start, with the only exception being Courtney who [[DiscOneFinalBoss came in mid-season]] after having a FaceHeelTurn. Secondly, the Ice Dancers have one of the most firm {{Freudian Excuse}}s and sympathetic motivation behind their villainy, due to them messing up at the Olympics and looking to restore their reputation. Finally, their actual villainy is much tamer than the ''Total Drama'' baddies, with them leaving very little impact on the show as a whole and their only real lasting accomplishment being eliminating the Goths.
* CuteAndPsycho: Josee; she threw a tantrum off-screen because Don told her and Jacques that they came in third at the first Chill Zone. As the season moves along, she becomes more ruthless, amoral, and just plain unhinged.
* CuteButCacophonic: As the season goes on, Josee becomes more [[NoInsideVoice prone to shouting]].
* DickDastardlyStopsToCheat: After getting the curse removed from themselves, the Ice Dancers have become obsessed not with just winning, but crushing the other teams. The irony being [[TheAce they are more than capable of finishing competitions quickly]] but they are determined to screw other teams over while doing so, even if it sets them back. Don even points out that they've received the most amount of penalties directly as a result of their cheating, but it goes straight over their heads.
* DisproportionateRetribution:
** Josee's abusive treatment of Jacques is her way of getting revenge on him for accidentally dropping her during the Olympics -- a humiliating incident, yes, but one he's already apologized for countless times.
** They try to ''run Dwayne over with a jeep'' when he tells them that he considers his son more important than any gold medal in "My Way or Zimbabwe".
** To show what they think of second in the Arctic Circle, Josee takes her rage out on Don's snowman friend.
* DisqualificationInducedVictory: [[spoiler: They were given first place in the fourth episode because of Dwayne & Junior's and Tom & Jen's penalties. This happened again in the sixth episode when Laurie & Miles were penalized.]]
* DivideAndConquer: Josee tries this on the Surfer Dudes in "Lord of the Ring Toss" by making Geoff think he's a burden to Brody, but it backfires as the two of them are too close.
* TheDogBitesBack: After enduring 14 years of her bad attitude and her abuse, particularly during the race, Jacques finally puts his foot down in "Bahamarama", stating that he no longer wants to perform with her once they get back home.
* DramaQueen: Both of them, especially whenever they place anything worse than first. Josee winds up being much worse about it, but Jacques is never without his moments.
* EnemyMine:
** They briefly form a truce with the Cadets in "Shawshank Ridonc-tion" when they are locked in prison together after using boomerangs on each other.
** They are forced to do so again in "Ca-Noodling" during a super team challenge that involves three teams, though this time it's more of an example of TeethClenchedTeamwork, as Josee and [=MacArthur=] argue and fight throughout the challenge.
* EvilIsBurningHot: Josee is sometimes accompanied by fiery backdrops when she does an EvilLaugh.
* EvilIsHammy: They are the most over the top pairing in the race as well as the most evil.
* EvilLaugh:
** Josee starts giving these, with the one in "Hawaiian Honeyruin" even having her turn demonic.
** Both of them engage in evil gloating in front of Don in "My Way or Zimbabwe". Don says that's just all kinds of creepy.
* EvilDuo: The [[BigBadDuumvirate two main villains]] of ''Ridonculous Race'' who are partners in crime.
* EvilCostumeSwitch: In "Shawshank Ridonc-tion", they wear [[EvilWearsBlack black versions of their regular outfits]]. Josee lampshades this by saying that the black outfits tell people to get out of their way. Oddly, the costumes are only worn for that episode, with them going back to their usual pink outfits despite still being villainous an episode later.
* ExactWords: [[spoiler: Josee said they'll help the Cadets if [=MacArthur=] said that Ice Dancing was the greatest sport in the world. After [=MacArthur=] said that, Josee said she helped the cadets on their way out.]]
* ExtremeDoormat: Jacques usually goes along with Josee's demands, and he suffers the consequences for them. However, in "Bahamarama", Jacques puts his foot down against Josee's abusive behavior.
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: On the outside, they seem like Canada's sweethearts, but on the inside, they're both ruthless jerks.
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: They really cannot take the easy route through the magic trick in "Dude Buggies".
* FangsAreEvil: Josee seems to gain fangs whenever she does her maniacal {{Evil Laugh}}s.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Josee sure makes a big deal about smiling and looking nice in front of the camera but she's really anything but nice. Although Jacques seems to lean more towards the AffablyEvil alignment.
* FemaleFighterMaleHandler: Josee often gets into fights, especially with [=MacArthur=], with Jacques having to rein her in.
* {{Foil}}: To the Daters. Both the Ice Dancers and the Daters are athletic minded pairs with a SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl and HugeGuyTinyGirl dynamic. Both Jacques and Ryan are {{Top Heavy Guy}}s who tend to be the voice of reason while both Josee and Stephanie are [[CompetitionFreak hyper-competitive]] and have {{Hair Trigger Temper}}s. While the Ice Dancers were the main antagonists of the season and had significant interactions with other teams, namely the Police Cadets, the Daters were [[SatelliteCharacter largely relegated to their own storyline]].
* FourIsDeath: When they start placing fourth consecutively after Josee picks up the [[ArtifactOfDoom lava rock]]. Particularly notable is that they start placing forth the second time in China, where the unlucky superstition originates. Lampshaded by the Goths, as they tell them to ditch the lava rock anywhere in Hawaii.
* FrenchJerk: While Jacques and Josee are French-''Canadian'', both of them are rude, arrogant, and ill-tempered towards the other contestants, Josee more so than Jacques.
* FreudianExcuse: The reason they are so obsessed with winning is because Jacques accidentally dropped Josee when they finally got the chance to get gold in the Olympics, becoming national embarrassments instead. Also, Josee apparently had a pretty bad StageMom who once attacked Jacques with a lamp for picking Josee up late.
* GirlyBruiser: Josee is an ice dancer who wears eyeshadow and dresses in pink and purple colors but she also can get physically aggressive especially when things don’t go her way.
* GoldFever: Both of them are obsessed with winning a gold medal, especially Josee.
* GracefulLadiesLikePurple: One of Josee's outfit's main colors is purple, and her partner even describes her as: "beauty, grace and strength."
* GrewASpine: Jacques finally gets fed up with Josee in "Bahamarama" and refuses to partake in her sabotage anymore. He also states he no longer wants to go pro with her, due to wanting to do other things with his life.
* GoneHorriblyRight: In "Lord of the Ring Toss", [[spoiler:Josee tries to continuously put the Surfers' friendship under stress by spouting lies to each one of them. This backfires horribly on the Ice Dancers when the Surfers gain a lot of passion for their team and end up beating them for first place]].
* GoodLuckCharm:
** Josee keeps a lucky rabbit's foot named "Bun-Bun" as a good luck charm. She loses it in Transylvania when it falls out of her pocket during the carriage ride. She later finds a lava rock shaped like a trophy and takes it as her new one, only for it to turn out to be a BadLuckCharm. [[TheCassandra A local even warns her that taking it would be bad]], but she refuses to listen [[spoiler: until the Goths told them about it in the Finland leg]].
** Jacques claims he has a lucky pair of underwear, which he hasn't washed since starting the race. Josee points out that's just plain gross.
* GracefulLoser: Oddly, when they actually thought they were eliminated (before it was revealed to be a non-elimination challenge) they tearfully thank their fans for supporting them and bow out quite gracefully. [[spoiler:In the finale, after they come in third, they appear to take their loss with grace until Josee snaps and starts destroying Central Park.]]
* HairTriggerTemper: Josee will get angry at a moment's notice, especially if she doesn't come in first or if she has to share an advantage with other teams if she does come in first.
* TheHeavy: They become the primary source of conflict about halfway through the race,
where they begin playing dirty and start sabotaging other teams.
* HeelFaceTurn: Jacques has one briefly in "Bahamarama"; however, he switches back after Josee almost drowns. Subverted in that he wasn't against Josee wanting him to cheat, he was against getting penalized for cheating. [[spoiler: They claim to have learned their lesson about playing fair after coming in third, although it's clear you can take that claim with a grain of salt.]]
* IconicItem: Josee's rabbit foot, "Bun-Bun" and later her lava rock.
* InASingleBound: They are capable of jumping huge inhuman distances.
* InSeriesNickname: They have a few of these, most of them from [=MacArthur=], including; "Skaters", "Ice Skating Freaks", and "Freezer Breath", as well as "Skater Girl" for Josee. Kitty also calls them "Ice ''Dunces''."
* ItsAllAboutMe: The Ice Dancers are so selfish as shown through their desire to win 1st place. It’s more blatant through their cheating in later episodes as shown by stealing Emma and Kitty’s ball to get 1st in the Russia leg.
* ItsPersonal: In "Down and Outback", Josee declares that simply winning was no longer enough and she wouldn't be satisfied unless she got revenge on the Police Cadets.
-->'''Josee:''' ''(referring to the Police Cadets)'' They boomeranged us! \
'''Jacques:''' [[JerkassHasAPoint We boomeranged them]].\
'''Josee:''' I want revenge! Winning is no longer enough; ''I'' need to be [[TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou the one who makes them lose]]!\
'''Jacques:''' I think winning is still enough.\
'''Josee:''' YOU'RE WRONG!!! ''(Jacques falls out of his seat)''
* {{Jerkass}}: The Ice Dancers are both huge jerks towards the other teams as shown through their constant cheating. Josee especially fits into the title of jerk due to her abuse of Jacques.
* JerkJock: Josee more than Jacques.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite his treachery, Jacques is the more sympathetic of the two, although his sympathy is usually reserved for Josee.
* JustAStupidAccent: They have extremely exaggerated French-Canadian accents, but Jacques is a more notable example. It's implied that Jacques was either born in Quebec or somewhere in France.
* KarmicButtMonkey: Despite being antagonists, they both suffer AmusingInjuries.
** Jacques gets hit around multiple times in the race: he gets thrown around in an old coffin, gets his clothes caught on fire at least twice, crashes through a billboard, gets trampled by a bunch of komodo dragons, gets treated like a chew toy by a lion, collides with a subway pillar while on a train, and gets crushed by a hot dog cart after he and Josee are finally eliminated.
** While Josee gets it better than Jacques, she's still not immune to getting beaten and thrown around. She gets trampled by a bunch of komodo dragons, collides with a subway pillar while on a train, and gets crushed by a hot dog cart [[spoiler:after getting eliminated]].
* KickTheDog:
** Josee often abuses Jacques both physically and verbally, namely due to [[OnceDoneNeverForgotten him dropping her during a performance]] which cost them a gold medal and their reputation.
** Josee taking out her anger in coming second place by destroying Don's snowman friend Chilly Billy was rather cruel even with how funny (and kinda heartbreaking) Don's reaction was. She even starts ''laughing'' after she's done.
* LargeHam: They "perform" their challenges with more flair than necessary, and they often wave to their fans watching.
%% * LaughablyEvil: Both of them, but especially Jacques.
* LaughingMad: Josee's EvilLaugh is one of the more psychotic ones in the ''Total Drama'' franchise, on par with Mal and Scarlett.
* LeanAndMean: Josee is a tiny ice dancer with a ''huge'' mean streak.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Triumphant trumpet music plays during their confessionals or when they perform well in challenges.
* LikeMotherLikeDaughter: Josee's mother is the one who taught her that SecondPlaceIsForLosers, and according to Jacques, temper tantrums run in their family, as Josee's mother once threw a lamp at him for picking up Josee from practice late.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: Jacques is this to Josee. He attempts to be the voice of reason as Josee becomes more emotionally unstable over the course of the season.
* LuckyRabbitsFoot: Josee keeps one as an Good Luck Charm. She even named it "Bun-Bun". She lost it in Romania after it fell out of her pocket during the carriage ride.
* MagicSkirt: In "French is an Eiffel Language", despite her skirt, Josee somehow doesn't flash panties while balancing on Jacques' hands upside down.
* MakeItLookLikeAnAccident: In "How Deep is Your Love," the Ice Dancers say that if they find the opportunity to get the Cadets eliminated, they'll do exactly this. Cue evil laughter.
* MakeUpIsEvil: Josee wears a lot of make-up and is the most evil female character in the race.
* ManipulativeBitch: Josee often resorts to sabotaging other teams, both physically and psychologically.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Josee is rather aggressive; Jacques not so much. He's also more concerned about his appearance and enjoys doing very un-masculine things, like [[WholesomeCrossdresser wearing a dress]].
** Jacques also serves the Feminine Boy to [=MacArthur=]'s boisterous Masculine Girl.
* MoodSwinger: Josee, who can change from one mood to another in an instant. This is best seen in "New Beijinging" after Jacques lands on his ankle wrong.
-->'''Josee:''' ''(seeing Jacques screaming in pain)'' Snap out of it! This is a competition; our fans are watching! EAT THE PAIN!!! ''(her mood shifts from angry to cheerful)'' ♪And smile!♪
* MythologyGag: They were briefly alluded to in ''Island'', with the mentions of two Ice Dancers with a male dropping the female.
* {{Narcissist}}: Both of them as they are obsessed with winning gold and love it when the camera focuses on them as they always smile and have their arms open in the air for cameras to see. Josee often grows tantrums when she places anywhere other than first and Jacques is very obsessive about his hair.
* TheNicknamer: Josee has a tendency to nickname other teams, especially the Police Cadets, who she calls "mall cops" and "copper wannabes." She also calls Emma "lawyer girl".
* NoInsideVoice: Late in the season, Josee is ''extremely'' prone to shouting her dialogue.
* NobodyTouchesTheHair: Jacques is devastated about having to sacrifice his hairdo to absorb the oil on his hands in "Last Tango in Buenos Aires".
* NotSoAboveItAll: Jacques is usually the rational one between them, but he can be just as devious as Josee at times.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: Downplayed. They start out the first half of the season being athletically talented, but overtly competitive jerks with a creepy obsession with smiling and winning but don't do anything deceitful. However, halfway through the season they decide to start playing dirty, using several underhanded tactics, reaching [[spoiler: 3rd place]], and even causing the direct elimination of [[spoiler:The Goths]].
* [[invoked]]OldShame: Jacques getting Silver at the Olympics is one for him InUniverse.
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: Josee will ''never'' let Jacques forget about him dropping her during a performance, which cost them a gold medal.
* OneHeadTaller: Jacques is tall and well built while Josee is short and petite.
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: In Australia, Josee develops this mentality towards the Police Cadets.
* OutOfCharacterMoment: In "Little Bull on the Prairie", they come in 7th place and just smile and wave. This is the same pair that threw angry and violent fits whenever they placed ''2nd''.
* PassionateSportsGirl: Josee is a professional ice skater, but her lack of sportsmanship is her FatalFlaw.
* PerpetualSmiler: Both smile constantly, [[TheUnSmile rather creepily]]. Their justification is that the cameras can pop up anytime.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Josee, a petite ice dancer, can lift heavy objects over her head in a rage.
* PlatonicLifePartners: While not romantically involved, they nonetheless are very close to each other.
* PlotArmor: The Ice Dancers have come close to being eliminated a few times, but get spared due to being the {{Arc Villain}}s of the season.
* PragmaticVillainy: In "Bahamarama" Jacques tells Josee not to sabotage the other contestants as they might get penalized for it.
* PsychopathicWomanchild: Josee. Despite being an adult, she frequently behaves like an ill-tempered child, usually throwing a psychotic tantrum whenever she and Jacques rank lower than 1st place and bullying Jacques into doing what she wants.
* PsychoPink: Despite the pink outfits, both are ruthless competitors, albeit Josee more than Jacques.
* RageBreakingPoint: Josee often holds back her anger and hides it behind a smile, before she unleashes it during an interview where she throws a tantrum.
* RedOniBlueOni: The impulsive Josee is the red to Jacques' rational blue.
* RevengeBeforeReason:
** Josee is hellbent on getting back at Jacques for dropping her at the Olympics, even if it means hurting her teammate during challenges.
** Josee is just as hellbent, if not more so, on getting the Police Cadets, more specifically [=MacArthur=], [[TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou eliminated]].
* RunningGag: Their poor reactions to not getting first place. ''Then'' there's their reactions for not being treated properly when they do get first place.
* SanitySlippage: Josee got crazier and more villainous the longer the race went on. In "Dude Buggies", she believes that the Goths are vampires, despite Jacques saying otherwise.
* SarcasticDevotee: While he's willing to criticize her, Jacques is still completely willing to go along with Josee's antics.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: A darker version. Josee is often brash and impulsive while Jacques attempts to be the voice of reason.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: Jacques has the highest pitched scream of ''any'' male character in the series.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Subverted. In "Bahamarama", Jacques has finally had enough of Josee's ill temper and threatens to quit on her; however, he doesn't follow through.
* SecondPlaceIsForLosers: As competitive ice dancers, they practically live and breathe this principle.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Jacques' the Sensitive to Ryan's Manly. An example of this is in "Dude Buggies." Ryan hates wearing a dress, while Jacques loves the absolute idea of doing so.
* SeriousBusiness: [[JustifiedTrope As Olympians]], they treat getting the gold medal as such. When Dwayne says "Who cares about a dumb gold medal?", Jacques, usually the more rational of the Ice Dancers, wants to run him over for saying that.
* SissyVillain: Jacques is this as he is one of the main antagonists of the season but he is a figure skater who had no trouble cross dressing, did a lot of girly screaming, and is very vain and effeminate as evidenced through his behavior in the season and especially in the Las Vegas magic trick challenge.
* SkewedPriorities: In "My Way or Zimbabwe", they prioritize dumping the lava rock back in Hawaii over going to Zimbabwe. [[spoiler:Had the leg not been a non-elimination round, the ice dancers would have been easily eliminated.]]
* SlasherSmile: They are quite fond of this, especially when they're hurting other teams, ''especially'' the Cadets.
* SmugSnake: If they beat other contestants in challenges, they can and '''WILL''' rub it all over them.
* SoreLoser: Josee doesn't react well to getting anything outside an first place finish. [[spoiler:When she and Jacques are finally eliminated and ultimately place third, she goes berserk and starts destroying statues and hot dog carts in Central Park until Jacques calms her down.]]
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Along with the Police Cadets, they are the most focused on pairing, placing no worse than third in the first eight episodes, and they're the {{Arc Villain}}s of the first season.
* StepfordSmiler: Josee, who seems to be Type 3.
* StupidEvil: They just can't resist sabotaging other teams despite all the penalties they receive from it.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: They're similar to Alejandro in ''World Tour'' in terms of being villains [[BitchInSheepsClothing who hide their intentions behind smiles]], and [[TheAce dominate the challenges with exceptional skill]].
* TantrumThrowing: Josee, any time she comes in anything worse than first place.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: With the Police Cadets during the "The Shawshank Ridonc-tion". [[spoiler:They then form a sketchy alliance in "Ca-Noodling"]].
* TerrifiedOfGerms: Jacques is implied to be this, as he is repulsed by the slimy catfish in "Ca-Noodling" and clearly discomforted when Josee spits saliva on the window in the finale.
* TopHeavyGuy: Jacques has a large upper body and a comparatively slimmer lower body. Unlike most examples of this trope, Jacques has rather long legs, especially compared to other males in the franchise.
* TrashTalk: Mainly reserved for the Police Cadets.
* {{Troll}}: Jacques attempts to be one towards Josee in "How Deep Is Your Love" for the Russian pilot's slow enunciation, only for the former to get punched by the latter.
* TwitchyEye: Josee, any time she comes in anything worse than first place.
* TheUnfettered: Progressively becoming this over the course of the show, especially Josee. They have become so obsessed with 1st place, they will do absolutely anything to reach 1st place whether its backstabbing allies to sabotaging other teams.
* UngratefulBitch:
** Josee has totally forgotten when the Goths alerted them about the lava rock.
** In "Bahamarama", when her rival [=MacArthur=] saves her from drowning by sharing her oxygen tank with her, and Josee repays the favor by chucking a coconut at [=MacArthur=]'s head minutes later during a footrace to the finish line, without a single ounce of remorse whatsoever.
* UnknownRival: To the Goths after they start getting on their nerves. They view them as huge threats in need of targeting, while the Goths don't notice or care [[spoiler:until the Goths learn that the Ice Dancers kidnapped Loki]].
* TheUnSmile: At best, their constant smiles are simply creepy. At their worst, it crosses over to SlasherSmile.
* UnstoppableRage: When Josee becomes angry, she gains monstrous strength and will trash all of her surroundings in a temper tantrum.
* VampireHunter: Josee invokes this in "Dude Buggies", where believing the Goths to be vampires, and she tries to use bulbs of garlic and a wooden stake against them.
* VillainousBreakdown: [[spoiler: Josee completely ''LOSES IT'' when they are finally eliminated, coming in third behind the Cadets and Surfer Dudes in the final episode. She goes on a rampage and starts destroying statues and hot dog carts in Central Park. Jacques was a lot more accepting of defeat, and is able to quickly calm her down]]. They also tend not to take it very well when they come in something other than first. Coming in fourth makes Josee lose it.
* VitriolicBestBuds: While they give each other a lot of flack (''especially'' Josee towards Jacques), at the end of the day they're still partners.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: Jacques when he wears the magician's assistant dress in "Dude Buggies".
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes:
** Jacques thinks fish are disgusting and is terrified of reaching inside slimy catfish mouths in "Ca-Noodling," saying that it's like giving his grandmother a foot rub.
** Josee has severe claustrophobia, so naturally she's horrified when she realizes that she's the one who has to be lowered down the Kola Borehole in "How Deep Is Your Love."
* YoungerThanTheyLook: They could be mistaken for late twenties to early thirties, but WordOfGod reveals Jacques is 22 while Josee is 20.

While Geoff has experience with reality shows from his time on ''Total Drama'' (where he met his longtime girlfriend and fellow surfer Bridgette, whom he originally planned on bringing to the race), Brody is new to this and relies on his buddy to guide him. Both love surfing, chilling and being the best of friends.

See [[Characters/TotalDramaKillerBass Total Drama Killer Bass]] for tropes specific to Geoff during his time on ''Total Drama''.
----
* AllLovingHero: There isn't a single person they're not nice to, especially Geoff who is even friendly towards mean characters like Emma and Lorenzo. This trait shines brighter in "Ca-Noodling" when they allow the Best Friends to overtake them. [[spoiler:This causes them to be eliminated for coming last...until later on in "Last Tango to Buenos Aires" the Best Friends were unluckily forced to drop out and, due to a rule, return the favor by giving them another chance at the race in their place]].
** The closest they have ever come to being hostile is saying they were aware the Ice Dancers were messing with them, and even then they state they would keep playing it fair.
* AmazonChaser: Brody is attracted to [=MacArthur=], likely for this reason. Unfortunately for him, [[AllLoveIsUnrequited she doesn't return his affection]] [[spoiler:until the end of the Surfers ending]].
%%* AmusingInjuries: Brody is a living magnet for this, unlike Geoff.
* AttackAttackRetreatRetreat: In "Got Venom" they run towards a bunch of komodo dragons that treed [[spoiler:Sanders and [=MacArthur=]]], only to run away and get treed themselves.
* BalloonBelly: Brody gets one in "Bahamarama" as after the leaving the show he had filled the void of not asking [=MacArthur=] out, with burritos.
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler: They arrive just in time to save Emma, whom they considered part of their 'alliance', from falling to her death in "Ca-Noodling".]]
* BigEater: Both of them easily finish their pork 'n beans first in "Little Bull on the Prairie".
* TheBusCameBack: [[spoiler: Due to a technicality in the rules, they are chosen as the team to replace Carrie and Devin as one of the final four teams after Devin was medically unable to continue]].
* CameBackStrong: [[spoiler:After returning to the show, they manage to do pretty well in the challenges; if the ending where they win is counted, then they were the first to reach the last three chill zones]].
* CampStraight: Geoff and Brody are not ashamed of doing non-masculine activities. Combined with the fact that Geoff loves cooking as shown in his time on ''Total Drama'', Geoff and Brody both wear pink, and a lot of HoYay went on between them during the race. However, Geoff states that he is still dating Bridgette and initially planned on taking her to the race and Brody developed a crush on [=MacArthur=].
* CannotTellFictionFromReality: Both of them have this to an extent, thinking komodo dragons breathe fire. However Brody is an ever worse case, thinking [=MacArthur=] has a real pet unicorn and unsure if the Surfer Dudes were made of magic beans.
* {{Catchphrase}}: "Boom!" accompanied by a fist-bump.
%%* TheChewToy: Brody, very much so.
%%* ChubbyChaser: Again, Brody to [=MacArthur=], though he doesn't like her for her body.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: Geoff plays this role for Brody on occasion.
* ComfortFood: After he and Geoff were eliminated in "Ca-Noodling", Brody felt empty due to missing his chance to ask [=MacArthur=] out, so he filled that void with burritos, and ended up putting on some weight. Fortunately, he loses all that extra weight in the finale.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Both of them have their moments of this.
** Brody might be slow most of the time but he still managed to survive being electrocuted constantly by a motor boat engine, albeit it took him an entire episode to recover. Later he wrestles a crocodile to make him cough up 6 catfish that he, Geoff, and their super team needed for a challenge, according to him and Geoff it wasn't the first time he had to do it either.
** Their biggest moment is [[spoiler:winning the million dollars when they come back after the Best Friends are forced to withdraw due to an injury. In their ending, not only do they win, they were the first to arrive at ''all'' of the last three chill zones.]]
* TheDitz: They openly acknowledge they're not bright and probably the least intelligent team. Geoff's always been like this, but when compared to his time on Total Drama it appears as though he's lost most of his brain cells. Brody mentions that he was on the swim team for all ''six'' years of high school, meaning he was held back twice.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler:What's a better ending than being eliminated, coming back, AND winning the race?]]
** [[spoiler: It’s an even happier ending for Geoff after being eliminated in the first two seasons of Total Drama and not being included in the later seasons he finally becomes a finalist and potentially wins the race.]]
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: They compliment the Adversity Twins during the first Either/Or, setting them up as the [[NiceGuy nice guys]] of the race.
* ExtremeOmnivore: Geoff calls Brody a "human trash can" in "Bjorken Telephone", claiming that he will eat anything. Fortunately for Geoff, Brody was still in a catatonic state during the Icelandic feast challenge, allowing Geoff to feed Brody without any resistance.
--> '''Geoff:''' Brody's got the tastebuds of [[{{Dissimile}} a dude who doesn't have any tastebuds.]]
* {{Flanderization}}: Geoff. See TookALevelInDumbass.
* FlatCharacter: Geoff has a lot less character complexity when compared to his time on ''Total Drama'', being reduced to idiot surfer dude, while Brody doesn't fare much better with a near identical personality. The only plot they received was Brody's crush on [=MacArthur=], and their friendship being challenged due to the Ice Dancers' manipulation, otherwise they largely stayed as background characters [[spoiler: which makes them being finalists all the more noticeable and odd.]]
* FormerlyFit: Brody really let himself go with burritos after [[spoiler:they were eliminated. This is subverted in "A Million Ways to Lose a Million Dollars" when he somehow loses all those extra lbs.]]
* FunPersonified: They're all about having a good time.
* GeniusDitz: Brody starts to become a lot more helpful in the last challenges of the competition.
* TheGhost: In "None Down, Eighteen to Go - Part 1", Geoff more or less states that Bridgette would have been his partner for the race if she didn't have obligations surfing in Australia. Bridgette is mentioned a few more times by Geoff, but never shows up, not even for a cameo when the race goes to Australia in "Shawshank Ridonc-tion".
* TheGlomp: When they come in first, the two embrace and sometimes include Don, [[HatesBeingTouched who doesn't really like it.]]
* GroinAttack: In "Brazilian Pain Forest", Brody follows after Geoff when they swing across a canyon on a vine. Brody ends up swinging groin first into the edge of the cliff that Geoff had no problem landing on. Geoff seemed to be oblivious to how much pain Brody was in.
* HarmlessElectrocution: When their boat's motor dies, Geoff realizes that Brody touching the wires got the motor working again. When they finally reach their destination, Brody was charred black. It's subverted in the next episode where Brody is near catatonic from being electrocuted.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Their friendship purposely invokes a {{bromance}}, with Brody once saying he'd marry Geoff all over again after the BridalCarry challenge in Hawaii. Even some of the other characters get in on the fun, with Don acting like an emotional wedding guest as the boys celebrate winning first place in "Hawaiian Honeyruin" and Noah implying that he wouldn't be surprised if he saw them kissing each other in "Maori or Less". [[WhatCouldHaveBeen Their original team label was even gonna be the Bromance Bros]].
* HiddenDepths: Brody seems to have some confidence issues, since he tends to break down when he's struggling and fears that he'll be the reason that he and Geoff get eliminated.
* HistoryRepeats:
** Brody's injury in "None Down, Eighteen To Go - Part 1" is very similar to Geoff's in "Up The Creek". Then it happens to Brody again in [[spoiler:the finale]], and he recovers by eating the same banana he got in the first episode.
** [[spoiler:A subversion: This isn't the first time Geoff came in 6th place... but it ''is'' the first time he came back.]]
* {{Keet}}: They're enthusiastic about pretty much everything.
* KindheartedSimpleton: They've both shown to be a little dimwitted but never the less they are very kind and easy to get along with.
* LaserGuidedKarma: [[InvertedTrope The good kind]]. [[spoiler:Their good sportsmanship in letting the Best Friends continue in the race instead of them allows them to return after "Last Tango in Buenos Aires" when Carrie decides to replace them after Devin is gravely injured]].
* LovableJock: Geoff and Brody are very affable guys.
* MagneticHero: They make friends very easily and get along well with most of the other teams.
* ManChild: Both Geoff and Brody are shown to be this in the race through their immature behavior as shown in the Transylvania leg of the race.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Brody serves as the feminine boy to [=MacArthur=]'s masculine girl. Brody is sensitive and extremely friendly with his partner, and [=MacArthur=] is the complete opposite.
* MeaningfulName: How fitting is it that a guy named '''Bro'''dy shares such a close {{bromance}} with Geoff?
* NiceGuy: They're both very friendly and are happy to help out the other teams.
* NiceGuysFinishLast: [[spoiler: Averted. The power of nice lead the Surfers to victory!]]
* OwMyBodyPart: Brody after his calf cramped. [[spoiler: Both times.]]
* PlatonicDeclarationOfLove: They celebrate victories by yelling a variations of "I love you!" and "I love you too!" at each other while hugging. After the honeymoon challenge, Brody tosses "I'd marry you all over again!" into the mix.
* PluckyComicRelief: One of the season's funnier teams.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: They believe in this, and consider it to be the only tactic they need.
* RealMenWearPink: Both of them literally wear the color and are unembarrassed by things that are perceived as non-masculine.
* SatelliteCharacter: Despite being the team that ended up interacting with the most characters, they never had a major storyline and just went through the race doing their own thing.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Brody's more prone to crying and being frightened than Geoff.
* ShipTease: Brody has developed a crush on [=MacArthur=]. She's flattered by it, [[spoiler:and tells him to call her in the ending where the Surfers win. Though fittingly, she doesn't acknowledge him in the ending when the Cadets win]].
* SurferDude: Their team label.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Brody is very similar to Tyler, [[CosmicPlaything the universe definitly thinks so.]]
* SkewedPriorities: In "Dude Buggies", despite finishing the dune buggy challenge in record time, they decide to play around with dune buggy more, which drops them from first to fifth.
* TookALevelInDumbass: Geoff was never the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's lost a considerable amount of brain cells since his time on Total Drama. And he's still the smartest member of the team.
* {{Transplant}}: Geoff returns from ''Total Drama''.
* TrueCompanions: So much so that when the Ice Dancers tried to turn them against each other, it only strengthened their friendship.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Brody has a fear of sharks.
* TheWorldIsJustAwesome: Since they're both FunPersonified they get pumped up about anything and everything. Bungee jumping? Awesome. Dune buggies? Awesome. Wading through a river filled with crocodiles and oversized catfish? Awesome.
--> '''Brody:''' ''(wiping away a tear)'' Our lives are just... ''so'' awesome.
* YankTheDogsChain: In "Ca-Noodling", [[spoiler:Don plays with their feelings by telling them they're still in the race despite being the last ones at the chill zone... When they do cross the zone, he then says they're eliminated and even explains it was all for television drama. [[SubvertedTrope That is, until they get brought back a few episodes later]]]].

[[folder:Dwayne and Junior, Father and Son]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rrdj2.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350: Left: Dwayne. Right: Junior]]
-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/NeilCrone (Dwayne), Jacob Ewaniuk (Junior)
->'''Placement:''' 9th
->'''Eliminated in:''' [[Recap/RidonculousRaceLittleBullOnThePrairie Episode 16]]

BumblingDad Dwayne and his often exasperated son Dwayne Jr. are in the race both to win and to score some bonding time together. Dwayne means well but is cursed with bad luck and his own air-headedness. It's often his son, who despite being the youngest contestant is more than WiseBeyondTheirYears, helping him out of whatever muddle he's fallen into.
----
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: Dwayne has a tendency to unintentionally embarrass his son in front of other people.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: Dwayne embarrasses Junior a lot which can sometimes result in the latter taking the former for granted but despite this, Dwayne still cares for his son and Junior knows that his dad still loves him no matter what.
* BearHug: Dwayne pulls Junior into one when they reunite at the end of "My Way or Zimbabwe". The hug knocks Junior off his feet, but he reciprocates all the same.
* BigOlEyebrows: Junior has large black eyebrows that don't match his hair.
* BornLucky: As if to balance out Dwayne's supernaturally terrible luck, the team as a whole have benefited from other teams' misfortunes on several occasions or Junior doing the work for them.
* BornUnlucky: Dwayne might very well be cursed. He gets injured in every episode, messes up the challenges, and keeps unintentionally offending others which result in him getting scolded or attacked.
* BumblingDad: Dwayne screws up so many times, he and Junior are lucky to get as far as they have.
* ButtMonkey: Dwayne, who is extremely disliked in-universe, due to his [[BornUnlucky horrid luck and lack of tact]].
* CameraAbuse: Dwayne accidentally punchs the confessional camera in "Mediterranean Homesick Blues".
* Catchphrase: Particularly whenever they and the other contestants get a move on towards the challenge, Dwayne has a can often be heard saying "Hurry!" in a sing-song cadence.
* CharacterDevelopment: Their relationship steadily improves during the course of the season, as Dwayne learns to start treating his son like an adult while Junior starts to look past his dad's {{Bumbling|Dad}} exterior and enjoy his company. This is [[{{Bookends}} bookended]] with their introduction and [[spoiler:elimination]] clips: In the former, Dwayne forces enthusiasm while Junior ignores him and scowls at the camera. In the latter, they're laughing and making plans to binge-watch ''Pahkitew Island'' together.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: More that they're level-headed in Junior's case. The worst thing he does is yell at his dad when Dwayne was being uncooperative in a challenge. Considering the franchise he's in though, his decency is honestly exceptional.
* DeadpanSnarker: Junior. Best exemplified when Dwayne proudly talks about trying to make an alliance with Kelly and Taylor in the confessional.
-->'''Junior''': Have you met them?!
* TheDitz: [[DownplayedTrope Calling Dwayne stupid may be a bit of a stretch]] but he isn't shown to be very smart. For example, in the first episode, when he and Junior get into the elevator, he accidentally smashes too many buttons and breaks the elevator in the process.
* DumbassHasAPoint: Dwayne might be dim, but he's absolutely right when he points out to Kelly that her behavior enables Taylor to be a SpoiledBrat.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: The two eventually start to like each other more after a rocky start. [[spoiler:They take this to heart after being eliminated]].
* ElevatorButtonsMash: Dwayne accidentally did this in the first episode, so he & Junior just took the stairs.
* EmbarrassingTattoo: Dwayne gets a chin tattoo in order to appear cool to Junior. Unfortunately, Junior reveals it's a tattoo for ''women''. Almost nobody takes Dwayne seriously for the rest of the race.
* EnergeticAndSoftSpokenDuo: One would expect the child to be more energetic than their parent; however, Junior is [[WackyParentSeriousChild more rational and relatively soft-spoken compared to his father]].
* {{Expy}}: Dwayne is based on [[Film/NationalLampoonsVacation Clark Griswold]].
* FacePalm: Junior frequently does this in response to his father's antics.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: In "None Down, Nineteen to Go - Part 2", Junior mentions that he doesn't pay attention to Dwayne's stories or advice. In "My Way or Zimbabwe", this causes him to misremember what he's supposed to do if he gets lost.
--> '''Dwayne:''' The family rule is if you get separated, go back to the last place you saw each other. \
''(later, when Junior is talking to another team)'' \
'''Junior:''' My dad says the family rule is if you get separated, go to your destination.
* {{Foil}}: To Kelly and Taylor. Both teams are a ParentChildTeam with a WackyParentSeriousChild dynamic. Among their differences is that Kelly and Taylor are a well-to-do family, while Dwayne and Junior are at least middle class. Kelly and Taylor's relationship is dysfunctional, with mother [[HandsOffParenting setting no boundaries]] and [[PushoverParents allowing her daughter to walk over her]], although Kelly eventually puts her foot down after she's pushed too far. While Junior might laugh at his dad's misfortunes and believes that he's too overprotective, their relationship is ''far more'' functional in comparison to Kelly and Taylor.
* TheGlomp: [[spoiler:When they get eliminated]] in "Little Bull on the Prairie", Dwayne begins to sigh in disappointment but is interrupted by Junior tackle-hugging him.
* GoodParents: Despite being a BumblingDad, Dwayne always looks out for Junior's best interest, always volunteering to take on the more dangerous challenges in his place.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Junior has blonde hair and while his dad's antics can annoy him at times, he's still a nice and decent guy overall.
* HonorBeforeReason: In the second leg of "Hawaiian Honeyruin" one contestant is required to wear a grass skirt while their partner carries them over hot coals. Junior refuses to wear the skirt (because he knows his schoolmates will see) despite Dwayne pointing out that it's the less painful option.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Pretty much any time Dwayne talks to someone other than Junior, he winds up being this.
* IronButtMonkey: Dwayne gets injured almost every episode, but so far hasn't taken any lasting damage.
* JustAKid: Junior is often on the receiving end of this.
* KindheartedSimpleton: Dwayne [[BumblingDad isn't the sharpest tool in the shed]] but he means well and still cares for his son. Think [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Homer Simpson]] but without the {{JerkAss}} qualities.
* LaserGuidedKarma: In the Iceland leg, Dwayne accidentally steals the Vegans' fossil and ends up getting "cursed" by Laurie despite trying to return the fossil to them. In the following episode, the fossil shatters on the airport runway and its shards pierce the wheels of the plane Dwayne and Junior are on, causing it to fall behind the second place plane that the Vegans are on.
* TheLoad: Dwayne's age and bad luck make him a burden at times.
* LoveAtFirstSight: Junior gets a crush on Carrie immediately after meeting her.
* MirrorCharacter: Junior is one to Cody. Junior is one of, if not the youngest person competing [[WiseBeyondTheirYears but also one of the sanest]], Cody was treated like an AnnoyingYoungerSibling by his teammates due to being a late-bloomer in physical development and emotional maturity, but often finds himself as the OnlySaneMan. Both liked a girl who was interested in someone else, Junior having a PrecociousCrush on Carrie who became an OfficialCouple with Devin at the end of the season and Cody being an AbhorrentAdmirer to Gwen. Juniors exasperation at having to be on a reality show with his overeager, BumblingDad was similar to Cody's annoyance being paired with his own AbhorrentAdmirer Sierra throughout ''World Tour'', but both eventually came around to [[AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther their partners]] and regained their drive to win.
* NeverBareheaded: Junior is never seen without his backwards hat.
* NiceGuy: Both of them. Junior befriends Devin and Carrie in "My Way or Zimbabwe" when he gets separated from his dad, and both father and son befriend the Surfer Dudes, with Junior looking up to them as cool and Dwayne trying to seek advice from Brody on how he can look cool for his son. The only times that Dwayne was blunt was in "Hello and Dubai", when he gives Kelly some BrutallyHonest advice on Taylor, and in "My Way or Zimbabwe", when he tells the Ice Dancers that his child is more important than some dumb gold medal.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed:
** Junior's appearance is reminiscent of Music/JustinBieber when he was starting out.
** As Dwyane is a Clark Griswold {{Expy}}, he also bears a heavy resemblance to Creator/ChevyChase circa the early 1980s.
* OpenMouthInsertFoot: Dwayne, so many times.
** While trying to recite a travel phrase in "Bjorken Telephone", Dwayne ''somehow'' manages to say something offensive in Icelandic -- which earns him an angry slap from the local.
---> '''Junior:''' What did you even say to her?\
'''Dwayne:''' I have no idea!
** In "Hello and Dubai", while conversing with Kelly, he implies that Taylor is a SpoiledBrat. However, judging by Kelly's reaction and how Taylor treats her, [[DumbassHasAPoint it's true]].
** In "My Way or Zimbabwe", Dwayne runs into the last place Ice Dancers while searching for Junior. While their conversation is surprisingly civil at first, the moment he says "Who cares about a dumb gold medal?" the Ice Dancers [[SeriousBusiness take it personally]] and [[DisproportionateRetribution try to run him over]].
* OneSteveLimit: Both father and son are named Dwayne, but the younger is called Junior to avert this problem.
** Speaking of which, Junior ''could'' be referred to as "DJ", but of course there already is a DJ in the series.
* OnlySaneMan: Amidst the hostility, quirks and rocky relationship troubles of the other contestants, Junior's mostly just a friendly kid who keeps to himself.
* ParentChildTeam: One of two such teams in the Race. While Junior is often embarrassed by his dad, the two do work together fairly well, especially compared to Kelly and Taylor.
* PrecociousCrush: Junior has a crush on Carrie and was planning to ask her out until Devin informed him that she doesn't date "younger men".
--> '''Devin:''' But hey, give it a couple years. She might change her mind.
* ShortTeensTallAdults: Justified. Since Junior is the youngest of the contestants at 13 years old, even younger than the first-generation ''Island'' cast (who entered the show at 16), he is shorter than the adults and most of the older teens.
* SleepMask: Dwayne was seen wearing a dark gray one while he was sleeping in the plane in "The Shawshank Ridonction". Its most likely because he has trouble sleeping on planes without it.
* SoProudOfYou:
** Junior after his dad got the Travel Tip from the sharks in "Mediterranean Homesick Blues".
** Dwayne said this after Junior handed the camera to Don in "My Way or Zimbabwe", securing them a 10th place finish exactly one spot ahead of the Ice Dancers.
* TemptingFate: [[spoiler: At the start of their final episode, Dwayne admits in a confessional that even if they were to lose, he appreciates the time he got to spend with his son. Junior ends up freaking out and tells his dad [[HangingALampshade that he's jinxing them.]] Sure enough, they get eliminated next.]]
* TooDumbToLive: Dwayne, again. Instead of safely skewering a scorpion with a stick, he tries picking one by hand. The task giver there saves him from getting pinched...but his blind overconfidence gets the better of him and he does it again, this time getting every scorpion to pinch his hand and leave him stupefied for the rest of the episode.
* UnknownRival: After he gives her parenting advice, Kelly gets angry and wants revenge. Aside from not wanting an alliance with her, Dwayne never notices.
* WackyParentSeriousChild: Dwayne is goofy, clumsy and overestimates his own competence. Junior tries constantly to get his dad to listen to reason.
* WellDoneDadGuy: Dwayne tries throughout the race to impress his son, eventually succeeding, although it was by the time they were eliminated.
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: Despite his age, Junior is one of the most rational and level headed characters in the cast.

-> '''Voiced by:''' Nicole Stamp (Sanders), Evany Rosen ([=MacArthur=])
->'''Placement:''' 1st/2nd
->'''Eliminated in:''' [[Recap/RidonculousRaceAMillionWaysToLoseAMillionDollars Episode 26]]

A pair of ActionGirl trainee cops who are as different from each other as night and day yet still manage to work well together. While [=MacArthur=] is hot-blooded, hot-headed and fiercely driven, Sanders is much calmer and acts as the team's conscience and voice of reason.
----
* AchillesHeel: [=MacArthur=] has great physical skills overall, something she contributes to her glutes. However, "A Million Ways to Lose a Million Dollars" shows that if she has to do a physical activity that doesn't involve using one's glutes, such as paddling a boat, she'll get exhausted quickly.
* {{Acrofatic}}: [=MacArthur=] is really agile despite her size.
%%zce* ActionGirl: Both of them; [=MacArthur=] more so due to her impulsiveness.
* AntiHero: [=MacArthur=] can resort to questionable means, and can often be quite rude, but usually remains on the good side. Although there are times when she crosses over to ...
* AntiVillain: There are times when [=MacArthur=]'s tendency to bend rules goes too far, and she can come off as being just as devious and manipulative as Josee (if not more). This is best seen in "Ca-Noodling" where it's shown she is no different from her ArchEnemy and joins in sabotaging the other teams.
* ArchEnemy: To the Ice Dancers. [=MacArthur=] disliked the Ice Dancers from the very beginning, finding their [[PerpetualSmiler permanent]] smiles [[TheUnSmile creepy]] and suspicious, but it becomes personal once they intentionally knock Sanders over during the foot race to the Don Box in Transylvania. Sanders initially disapproves of this, worried that focusing too much on one particular team will cut down their efficiency, but changes her viewpoint in "Shawshank Ridonc-tion", where the Ice Dancers [[spoiler:abandon the Cadets during the first leg and then betray them in the second.]] From then onwards the conflict escalates to a full out war of them {{Trash Talk}}ing and trying to eliminate each other every second episode.
--> '''[=MacArthur:=]''' {{I warned you}} about those dirty, lousy, no good, ice-for-brains JERKS!\
'''Sanders:''' You did, and you were right. We're never playing nice with them again!
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Sanders is usually the more civil and rational one of the duo; however, when angered or motivated, she can be quite effective.
* BigEater: [=MacArthur=] relishes the opportunity to eat a big vat of pork 'n beans for free. Sanders attempts to eat her share of the pot so they won't get penalized, but [=MacArthur=] tells her to get her own pot.
* BirdsOfAFeather: [[spoiler:[=MacArthur=] ends up being this with [[TheSociopath Chris]] during her cameo in the reboot.]]
%%* BlushStickers: [=MacArthur=] has the non-romantic variant.
%%zce* BoyishShortHair: Sanders.
%%* BrainsAndBrawn: Sanders is the brains to [=MacArthur=]'s brawn.
* BreakoutCharacter: [=MacArthur=] went on to make several non-canon [[TheCameo cameo's]] in ''WesternAnimation/TotalDramaRama'' [[spoiler:and one canon one in the reboot.]]
* BullyAndWimpPairing: To an extent. The brash and impulsive [=MacArthur=] drags the more logical and sensible Sanders into her schemes. However, towards the final stretch, Sanders becomes more assertive.
* ByTheBookCop: Sanders, who wishes to win the competition without breaking any laws.
* CallBack: In one episode [=MacArthur=] reveals she's trained her nose in order to replace the police dogs who sniff out fruit smugglers at the border, [[spoiler: later she reveals she faked her way into the police academy and actually ''was'' a fruit smuggler, herself.]]
* CanonWelding: When she was six, [=MacArthur=] had a babysitter named [[WesternAnimation/SixTeen Jen Masterson]].
* CatchPhrase: [=MacArthur=] has "Nailed it!"
* CharacterDevelopment:
** [=MacArthur=] starts developing beginning with "How Deep is Your Love"; after her recklessness injures Sanders, she starts putting their friendship above the competition and learns to respect Sanders as a partner rather than an asset. This reaches its pinnacle in "A Million Ways to Lose a Million Dollars" where [=MacArthur=] admits Sanders was the tough one while she's the sidekick.
** Sanders mans up and [[GrewASpine grows a spine]] when she learns to stand up against [=MacArthur=] when the latter goes too far. She's become far less of a pushover than she was when the show started.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: [=MacArthur=] somehow managed to train herself to smell hidden objects so that [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext she'd be able to catch anyone who tries to smuggle oranges across the border.]]
* ChekhovsSkill: [[spoiler:As revealed in "A Million Ways to Lose a Million Dollars", Sanders can do a perfect imitation of a police siren, something she admitted to have practiced just in case, thinking she'd never get to do it on the show.]]
* CodeOfHonour: Both of them possess one. It becomes important in "Bahamarama" when it leads [=MacArthur=] to rescues her ArchEnemy Josee from dying in a SaveTheVillain moment.
* CompetitionFreak: [=MacArthur=] to a degree, who cannot resist turning down a challenge, even when it's farting. ''Especially'' when it's farting. Ironically, despite this farting competition she never challenges Owen or has the misfortune of being around him when he farts.
* ControlFreak: Sanders describes [=MacArthur=] as one in "Brazilian Pain Forest", where she stubbornly insists on using her bare hands to break the coconuts even when Sanders offers her a hammer.
* CowboyCop: When Sanders says she doesn't want to break any international laws, [=MacArthur=] says she's okay with breaking a few. She's pretty aggressive and is willing to be quite pragmatic to overcoming challenges. [[spoiler: In "Got Venom", she confesses that she's done a lot of illegal stuff that will probably get her fired after the race is over.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Sanders, although it's mostly just directed at [=MacArthur=].
* {{Determinator}}: In "El Bunny Supremo", after Sanders tells [=MacArthur=] that the Ice Dancers got hit with a ten minute penalty, [=MacArthur=] carries her uncooperative burro to the Chill Zone. Sanders then gets to show this in the final round, after their clue falls down a sewer drain, she outright breaks the cast on her left arm and twists her own broken bones, sticking her arm down the drain and snatching their clue, [[spoiler: which, coupled with [=MacArthur=] carrying a now unconscious Sanders towards Don, manages to finally get their rivals, the Ice Dancers, eliminated]].
* DisqualificationInducedVictory: [[spoiler: They won the Mexico leg because of Jacques and Josee arriving without their burros.]]
* DrivesLikeCrazy:
** [=MacArthur=] does so when she drives the taxi in Paris.
** The same can be said for Sanders when she takes the wheel in "A Million Ways To Lose A Million Dollars", where she promptly states she learns from the master, meaning [=MacArthur=].
* DungeonBypass: In "Shawshank Ridonc-tion", [=MacArthur=] breaks out of prison by pulling the bars right out of the wall. The challenge was to escape prison, but the cells were equipped with trap doors and secret tunnels. She decided to literally just break out of prison.
* EnemyMine:
** They briefly form a truce with the Ice Dancers in "Shawshank Ridonc-tion" when they are locked in prison together after using boomerangs on each other.
** They are forced to do so again in "Ca-Noodling" during a super team challenge that involves three teams, though this time it's more of an example of TeethClenchedTeamwork, as Josee and [=MacArthur=] argue and fight throughout the challenge. When they finally decide to cooperate, they realize they're the same and join forces to sabotage the other team. Sanders describes this as an "Axis of Evil".
* EnergeticAndSoftSpokenDuo: [=MacArthur=] is the gung-ho "take no prisoners" type, while Sanders is more calm and reserved.
* EskimosArentReal: [=MacArthur=] believes that pirates never exised in real life. When Sanders tells her they were real, she mockingly tells her to "tell that to my pet unicorn".
* EvilLaugh: Gives one in "Ca-Noodling" when she joins forces with Josee to sabotage the other teams.
* {{Expy}}: Of Creator/MelissaMcCarthy and [[Creator/SandraBullock Sandra Bullock]]'s characters from ''Film/TheHeat''.
* FatAndSkinny: [=MacArthur=] and Sanders, respectively.
* FatBitch: [=MacArthur=] is heavyset, impolite, and far more flippant about following procedure than Sanders.
* FlashedBadgeHijack: [=MacArthur=] frequently does this to steal vehicles from bystanders to use in the race.
* {{Gasshole}}: Farts are pretty SeriousBusiness to [=MacArthur=]. She's quite proud of her farts and eagerly jumps at the chance to upstage anyone else's farts (human or animal) with her own. After seeing Spud light a fart on fire up on stage in Finland, she says she wouldn't have lost on her first attempt if she knew they were fair game.
* GoodCopBadCop: Their main shtick. Sanders is the good cop, [=MacArthur=] is the bad cop. [=MacArthur=] lampshades it in Paris where she states she's going bad cop.
* GoodIsNotNice: [=MacArthur=] is a perfect example, as part of her "bad cop" shtick.
* GracefulLoser: [[spoiler:Although [=MacArthur=] admits that losing was embarrassing, they accept their defeat to the Surfer Dudes. Despite their loss, they can still take solace in beating out the Ice Dancers.]]
* GrewASpine: In "How Deep is your Love", Sanders finally gets tired of [=MacArthur=] treating her like a crash test dummy, and when [=MacArthur=] severely injures her, she firmly stands up for herself and takes charge of the team.
* HairTriggerTemper: [=MacArthur=] is very easy to anger.
** This was played with in "Mediterranean Homesick Blues" where she becomes aggressive in the space of a second.
** In "El Bunny Supremo" it's also revealed she was nicknamed "the Volcano" at the academy, for this very reason.
* HartmanHips: Sanders. With childbearing hips and a very tempting bubble butt, Sanders is surprisingly a good example of that trope!
* HandicappedBadass: [[spoiler:In "How Deep is Your Love", Sanders ends up paying the price for [=MacArthur=]'s recklessness, and breaks her arm after falling into the shaft. However, she chooses to stay in the race despite her injury, but makes it very clear that [=MacArthur=] must listen to her now.]] She is seen with her arm in a cast for the remainder of the race.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: [=MacArthur=] and Sanders' relationship is described as this. Even though they do fight and bicker occasionally, they still care about each other. [=Macarthur=] cares about Sanders a lot that she would carry Sanders on her shoulders whenever Sanders cannot continue running.
* HiddenDepths: [=MacArthur=] reveals that she aced Psychology in "My Way or Zimbabwe".
* HypocriticalHumor: [=MacArthur=] loses her attraction to Brody after he gained weight, saying that her ideal man has to be fit. Sanders called her out on her DoubleStandard.
* JerkJock: Downplayed, [=MacArthur=] can come off as rude and mean due to her competitive nature, but deep down she still has a code of honor.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite [=MacArthur=]'s obnoxious nature, she still cares for her partner and will not abandon her. This is best shown in "How Deep is Your Love", [[spoiler:where [=MacArthur=]'s [[CompetitionFreak over competitive]] nature ends up getting Sanders' arm broken. [=MacArthur=] shows a lot of regret over her actions, and displays sympathy for Sanders for the first time, rather than viewing her like an asset as she usually does.]]
* KindheartedCatLover: [=MacArthur=] owns a cat...that she wanted to call ''through one allowed phone call'' over letting Sanders call her ''sick'' grandmother.
* TheLadette: [=MacArthur=] takes farting seriously and generally gets along with mostly males.
* LastNameBasis: The only contestants to be referred by their surnames. WordOfGod stated that they weren't given first names [[spoiler:but this was averted by [=MacArthur=] revealing that her last name is an alias and her real name is Valentina Escobar. This makes [=MacArthur=] the 10th contestant in ''Total Drama'' history to have their full name revealed in canon.]]
* LeeroyJenkins: More often than not, [=MacArthur=] acts on impulse rather than take the time to think a plan out.
* LikeAnOldMarriedCouple: [=MacArthur=] and Sanders occasionally have such spats due to them having different philosophies of law and their personalities.
* TheLoad: Played with. Because of her impulsiveness, [=MacArthur=] occasionally thinks of Sanders as one. However, Sanders is ''[[AvertedTrope far away]]'' from being a Load; it's just that [=MacArthur=] is so dominating that Sanders rarely ever has a chance to act for herself.
* LovelyAngels: Despite their [[VitriolicBestBuds occasional bickering]], they've been through a lot together and have each other's backs.
* ManipulativeBitch: [=MacArthur=] loves messing with people's minds -- a skill she attributes to psychology lessons at the academy.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: [=MacArthur=] serves as the masculine girl to Brody's feminine boy. [=MacArthur=]'s TheLadette and is extremely aggressive while Brody is more laid-back.
* MirrorCharacter:
** Both of them share characteristic from Brick, with the disciplined "cadet" stereotype, and the "[[NoOneGetsLeftBehind leave no man behind]]" attitude. "[=MacArthur=]" even sounds like Brick's surname, "[=McArthur=]".
** [=MacArthur=] is bossy, aggressively competitive, and surprisingly physically fit, exactly like Jo from ''Revenge of the Island'', with her treatment of Sanders mirroring how Jo treats Brick.
** Like Brick, they both have different traits of [=LeShawna=]. [=MacArthur=] her AwesomeEgo, {{Boisterous|Bruiser}}ness and [[{{Archenemy}} rivalry]] with the AlphaBitch. Saunders her compassion, level-headedness and DeadpanSnarker tendencies.
* MsFanservice: [=MacArthur=] shows off her butt pretty often in the last episodes of the season.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [=MacArthur=] realizes how much of a jerk she is to Sanders after her brash negligence sends Sanders falling down a seven ''mile'' deep shaft. [[spoiler:Sanders broke her arm, and they came in last place. Fortunately, it was a non-elimination round, but Sanders is done with her antics, and won't let her step out of line anymore.]]
* NiceJobBreakingItHeroine: Downplayed. [=MacArthur=] tries exploiting Ryan and Stephanie's hate for each other, but then they drive off the road and end up getting ahead of everyone else, although it doesn't last.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: In "Bahamarama", [=MacArthur=] helps her mortal enemy Josee get out of the underwater cavern by sharing her oxygen. Once they're above ground, [[UngratefulBitch Josee throws a coconut at the Cadets]], knocking [=MacArthur=] down to slow them down.
* NoInsideVoice: [=MacArthur=] almost always yells. In "Ca-Noodling", after [=MacArthur=] scares the fish off with her voice, Sanders specifically points this out.
--> '''Sanders:''' Maybe you could try not yelling for once?
* NoOneGetsLeftBehind: [=MacArthur=]'s attitude towards Sanders. She often carries her when she gets incapacitated or worn out. Sanders eventually returns the favor in "Bahamarama".
* TheNoseKnows: [=MacArthur=] was able to identify the type of cheese in the Parisian Catacombs and then find the exit by sniffing. She claims that she developed this ability in order to work border patrols.
* OldShame: InUniverse. Sanders' biggest regret was that a local burger restaurant forgot to charge her for some fries and she didn't go back to pay for them when she found out. Meanwhile, [=MacArthur=] has enough misdeeds to get her expelled from the academy.
* OneOfTheBoys: While riding on a cart being pulled by a gassy donkey, [=MacArthur=] laughs along with the Surfers and Rockers, while Sanders just seems annoyed.
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: In "Bahamarama", this is in part [=MacArthur=]'s reason for saving Josee. [[spoiler:The Cadets just barely beat out the Ice Dancers at the midpoint Chill Zone in the finale.]]
--> '''[=MacArthur=]''': ''(to Josee)'' If ''anything'' is going to take you out of this race, it's going to be ''me''.
* OnlySaneMan: Sanders is usually one of the more level headed contestants. [[spoiler:This is especially true with the "Axis of Evil" alliance with the Ice Dancers and Daters.]]
* OverTheShoulderCarry: [=MacArthur=] frequently carries Sanders using this method. Sanders returns the favor in "Bahamarama" after [=MacArthur=] gets knocked over by [[UngratefulBitch Josee]].
* PlotArmor: Avoided elimination twice since the race focused primarily on their feud with the Ice Dancers.
* RankUp: [[spoiler:In ''Ridonculous Race'' [=MacArthur=] was a cadet, after the TimeSkip in the reboot she was introduced as ''Master Sargent''.]]
* RedOniBlueOni: The reckless, aggressive [=MacArthur=] is the red, to the calmer, more rational Sanders' blue. Ironically, both of them wear blue police uniforms.
* ReusedCharacterDesign: Sanders' character model strongly resembles Katie's, with the exception of her skin color, eye shape, and hairstyle.
* RevengeBeforeReason: In "Little Bull on the Prairie", in order to get back at the Ice Dancers, [=MacArthur=] slams her pickup truck into theirs and sends all of them tumbling off a cliff, risking her own life as well as that of Sanders.
* RunningGag: [=MacArthur=] and glutes, whether her own or how other people (especially Sanders) need to use theirs more.
* SassyBlackWoman: Sanders likes to snark at the contestants when the opportunity comes.
* SaveTheVillain: In "Bahamarama", [=MacArthur=] cannot bring herself to leave Josee behind, and shares her oxygen with her ArchEnemy and helps her to escape.
* ShipTease: While it's not entirely shown if [=MacArthur=] returns the feeling, she is flattered by Brody's crush on her.
* SoProudOfYou: [=MacArthur=] expresses pride in Sanders whenever she is forced to use Bad Cop strategies, even on [=MacArthur=] herself.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: They have claims to be the main heroes of ''Ridonculous Race'', being potential finalists, heavily focused on in almost every episode, and [=MacArthur=]'s rivalry with Josee being one of the central plots of the season.
* {{Squick}}: InUniverse. When Sanders [[spoiler:uses her broken arm without the cast]] to reach for a tip in a sewer drain, [=MacArthur=] is understandably disgusted by her rash decision.
* StoutStrength: [=MacArthur=], she even claims that she's basically 80 percent glutes by this point.
* StraightManAndWiseGuy: Sanders is the StraightMan to [=MacArthur=]'s impulsive and mischievous Wise Guy.
* SuperStrength: [=MacArthur=] is shown to be one of the strongest characters in the series, up there with the likes of Jasmine, Sierra, and Tyler. She nonchalantly breaks out of the prison in "Shawshank Ridonc-tion" by pulling the prison bars out of the wall. She is also able to carry a burro on her back all the way to the finish line, and beat up a huge bull.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: With the Ice Dancers during the "The Shawshank Ridonc-tion". [[spoiler:They then form a sketchy alliance in "Ca-Noodling"]].
* ThisIsUnforgivable: [=MacArthur=] doesn't like letting go of anything bad that ever happened to her, so much that she still hasn't forgiven her babysitter for ''not feeding her dessert when she was six'', and has been actively plotting revenge since then. [[CanonWelding On a related note, said babysitter is called by her full name]]: [[WesternAnimation/SixTeen Jen Masterson]].
* TokenGoodTeammate: Sanders is one for the "Axis of Evil" along with Ryan.
* TomboyishBaseballCap: [=MacArthur=] always wear one and she is the more Masculine of the two girls.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: [=MacArthur=] the Tomboy to Sanders' girly girl, although Sanders is more of a TomboyWithAGirlyStreak.
* TomboyishPonytail: [=MacArthur=]
* {{Troll}}: [=MacArthur=] is often one, especially to Sanders, and does things like giving her a ticket for "excessive complaining".
* TrashTalk: Both of them, but [=MacArthur=] in particular. It's mostly reserved for the Ice Dancers, but other teams get a dose occasionally.
* {{Tsundere}}: [=MacArthur=] can switch from jolly to aggressive at a moment's notice.
* VictoryByEndurance: [=MacArthur=] gets chased by an angry rhino, but ends up outrunning it and continuing to the point where the rhino gets too exhausted to continue.
* VitriolicBestBuds: They have each other's backs but are not above trading insults and snark.
* YouthfulFreckles: Sanders has them.

->'''Placement:''' 10th/11th
->'''Eliminated in:''' [[Recap/RidonculousRaceDownAndOutback Episode 14]]

Two irresponsible stepbrothers who loathe each other more than anything else. Their newly-married parents entered them in the race in the hopes it would help them get along, but even that won't stop them from constantly shoving, yelling, and arguing between themselves.
----
* {{Acrofatic}}: Chet, thanks to his gymnastics classes.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Lorenzo. WordOfGod says he's Italian.
* ArchEnemy: An interesting case in that they're ''each other's'' archenemies [[spoiler:at least until they learn to get along after finding common ground]].
* BigStupidDoodooHead: Their insults towards one another are very immature, one of which is Chet calling Lorenzo a "poo head".
* BlendedFamilyDrama: What their character arc consists of. Chet and Lorenzo's single parents married one year before the start of the show and they still hate each other at the beginning of the race. They were forced by their parents to take part to in order to learn how to get along. They spend most of their episodes fighting each other, but it ends up working in the end after they discover they have more things in common than they thought.
* BookDumb: Blatantly obvious when they can't tell the difference between an albino rabbit (after seeing a photo of it) and a kangaroo.
* ButtMonkey: Not as much as Dwayne or Devin, but they're still pretty unlucky.
* CommonalityConnection: [[spoiler:It's obvious to everyone else that they're both geeky {{Man Child}}ren, but they only realize how many interests they share after getting locked in a cell together forces them to actually talk to each other instead of just volleying insults.]]
* ADayInTheLimelight: "Shawshank Ridonc-tion" and "Down and Outback" feature the Stepbrothers more extensively [[spoiler:as they reconcile and go from worst enemies to best friends]].
* ADeathInTheLimelight: [[spoiler: Prior to their eliminations, their screen time is vastly extended in the last two episodes they're in.]]
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler: They get eliminated in "Down and Outback", but by then they've become best friends, which was what their parents hoped them entering the race would achieve.]]
* EnemyMine: They're initially bitter enemies who have been forced to work together against their will by their parents. During the early episodes they're more focused on insulting or fighting rather than partaking in the game, and it's a wonder how they managed to get the complete all the challenges. [[spoiler:This changes in "Shawshank Ridonc-tion" where they finally discover they share the same interests, come up with the same ideas, and finally learn to work together.]]
* EveryoneHasStandards: They wanted to capture a kangaroo thinking that it's an albino, but decide to leave it alone as they didn't want to harm it.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[Film/StepBrothers Brennan Huff and Dale Doback]], albeit much younger.
* FatAndSkinny: Chet is the fat to Lorenzo's skinny.
* FatBastard: Unlike other round characters like Owen who invert this trope, Chet plays this trope straight. He's rude in general and fights with his brother before they stop hating each other.
* FanDisservice: Chet wears a coconut bra in Hawaii, likely just to {{troll}} Lorenzo.
* FlatCharacter: They do nothing except fight and yell at each other. [[spoiler: By the time they make up and show off more character traits, they end up eliminated.]]
* {{Geek}}: They're both obsessed with video games, which is one of the factors that allow them to have their EarnYourHappyEnding moment.
* HairTriggerTemper: Chet, [[http://www.freshtvinc.com/blog/chet-and-lorenzo-from-the-ridonculous-race/ according to]] WordOfGod. It is showcased when Lorenzo called their parents jerks, and Chet pushes Lorenzo telling him, "Don't call my mom a jerk, jerk!"
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Chet and Lorenzo's relationship evolves into this during the Australia legs of the race as they realized that they got more in common with each other than they previously thought.
* HiddenDepths:
** Chet is actually competent at gymnastics, much to the surprise of Lorenzo.
** Lorenzo claims that he knows karate, although we have yet to see him in action. However, according to WordOfGod, he's not very good at it.
** Despite hating each other, they managed to make it almost halfway through the race without ever being in danger of elimination.
* KiddieKid: Despite being 17 years old, they both act like petulant, squabbling children, even when they start getting along they behave very much like little kids down to roleplaying their imagination. ''13 year old'' Junior is even more mature than they are and even asks just how old they are when he sees their childish fighting.
* {{Jerkass}}: They're mean and rude, even to other teams.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Become this after they start getting along. While they still have a mean streak, they started caring for each other, and sometimes act nice to the others, like inviting The Rockers to play video games with them after both teams got eliminated (but not before laughing at The Rockers when they discover they're eliminated as well...).
* {{Leitmotif}}: They came up with their own theme song.
--> We're the Stepbrothers, the Stepbrothers!
* LockedInARoom: [[spoiler:Getting locked up in Geelong Prison helps the Stepbrothers to bury the hatchet.]]
* MamasBoy: Chet is implied to be one, as even a subtle insult about his mother completely sets him off and he even shoves Lorenzo for it.
* ManChild: WordOfGod says they're 17 years old, but the two act really immature. ''Junior'' asks how old they are after hearing one of their arguments. [[spoiler: Even after they become friends, they still act like overgrown kids who role-play their imagination.]]
* MasterOfNone: According to WordOfGod, Chet is completely average in every field.
* MirrorCharacter: Their sibling dynamic is similar to Amy and Samey. Like Amy and Samey, Chet and Lorenzo are siblings on the same team, [[TeethClenchedTeamwork can't get along with each other]], and ended up being eliminated at the same time. However, [[spoiler: Chet and Lorenzo actually learned to bury the hatchet and eventually become best friends, while Amy and Samey's conflict has yet to be resolved.]]
* OddFriendship: They befriend the friendlier and more laid-back Rockers [[spoiler:while both teams are walking home after their double-elimination]] in "Down and Outback".
* SatelliteCharacter: Both of them have virtually no purpose other than to bicker and fight with each other, aside from the occasional one-time conversation with another character, or hanging with the Rockers in their elimination episode.
* ShoutOut: The design on Chet's shirt resembles Music/AvengedSevenfold's Skull Bat logo.
* SiblingRivalry: Step-sibling in this case.
* SiblingTeam: Or rather, a step-sibling team.
* TheSlacker: Both of them.
* SmallNameBigEgo: According to WordOfGod, Lorenzo has no skills or abilities to match his attitude.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: While all of the other teams can get along to some degree, they absolutely ''hate'' each other. [[spoiler:However, in Australia, they eventually learn to get along]].
* TooDumbToLive: In "Down and Outback", they mistake a kangaroo for an albino rabbit and waste time chasing it instead of doing the challenge or looking for the real albino. [[spoiler:They end up being the last team to reach the Chill Zone and are sent home alongside the Rockers.]]
* {{Troll}}: They do this to one another [[spoiler:until they learn to get along]].
* {{Tsundere}}: When things go right because they worked together (between insults), they can't bring themselves to accept the truth.
* VitriolicBestBuds: They become this by the time of "Shawshank Ridonc-tion", where they find out they're not so different after all and finally learn to get along.
* VolleyingInsults: Pretty much any conversation they have consists of this [[spoiler:before they learn to get along]].

->'''Eliminated in:''' [[Recap/RidonculousRaceATisketACasketImGonnaBlowAGasket Episode 7]]

A pair of flamboyant but good-natured fashion bloggers who love to look good and start new trends. They entered ''The Ridonculous Race'' as a means of promoting their blog, but even the competition won't stop them from finding the time to get some clothes shopping done wherever they go.
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Jen, although she could just be tanned.
* AuthorAvatar: For the creators of ''Total Drama''; Tom [=McGillis=] and Jennifer Pertsch.
* AmbiguouslyGay: Tom likes fashion and shopping to the point where he [[AlwaysCamp makes his living as a fasion vlogger]], and has an effeminate voice. Although he is [[AuthorAvatar based on the show's openly gay co-creator]], Tom [=McGillis=], his sexual orientation is never stated or even hinted at in the show, so he is neither CampGay nor CampStraight. Gay or straight, his relationship with racing partner Jen is implied to be primarily or purely professional.
%% CampGay requires that a character's homosexuality be explicitly stated or depicted within the work. Word of God statements are not enough, so Tom does not qualify.
* CoordinatedClothes: The Fashion Bloggers both wear pastel blue tops and a dark blue pair of pants or skirt. Also, Tom wears glasses to see and Jen matches that by accessorizing with sunglasses on her head.
* CuteButCacophonic: Jen has a rather piercing scream; in "Bjorken Telephone", her screaming shatters a camera.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler: Sure, they lost, but both of them were able to strengthen their bonds after having a fall out about who's the main contributor to their blog in their elimination episode, Tom manages to make his hat popular with Don, and Jen starts to support Tom a lot more after the gymnastic event. They also got to shop for clothes in Paris during a midnight special sale, which was a dream come true for them, and party with a prince on a yacht]].
* TheFashionista: Both, as to be expected of fashion bloggers.
* GenkiGirl: [[DownplayedTrope A more down-to-earth example]], Jen is peppy and gets excited when there is an opportunity to shop, ''especially'' in a fashion mecca like Paris.
* HiddenDepths: Jen is very skilled at gymnastics. Unfortunately, it was Tom who had to do a gymnastics challenge.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Tom is one of the taller contestants, while Jen is one of the shortest.
* IBrokeANail: Jen breaks three to be precise when being carried in a coffin by Tom.
* NeatFreak: Tom is implied to be one of those. In the first episode, he refuses to wear an unsanitized helmet and in the second episode, he tries to not get stains on his shirt while eating the Moroccan stew.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: While based off the show's producers, their fashion background and demeanor seem to be inspired by ''Series/WhatNotToWear'' hosts Clinton Kelly and Stacy London, both of which are fashion and lifestyle consultants.
* NobodyTouchesTheHair: According to Tom, Jen only lets her hairstylist wash her hair.
* OlderThanTheyLook: WordOfGod reveals Tom is 24 and Jen is 22, even though they look, and at times act, like teenagers.
* OneHeadTaller: Jen only comes up to Tom's shoulders.
* OneSteveLimit: Tom shares his name with the guy from Courtney's audition video.
* PlatonicLifePartners: Despite only being co-runners of a blog, they absolutely adore each other and are in the running with the Goths for the most closely knit team. However, they have zero sexual attraction to each other.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: Tom, particularly after seeing sharks in the south of France.
* SecurityCling: When they're crossing the sky deck.
* SkewedPriorities:
** In "French Is an Eiffel Language", they take their time shopping in Parisian clothing stores rather than rush the taxi driver to get the tire fixed.
** In "Bjorken Telephone", Jen was more concerned with her top than her safety while crossing the geyser field.
--->'''Jen:''' Geysers are hot water; this top is ''cold wash only''. Nobody told there would be real danger!
* {{Squee}}: In "French is an Eiffel Language", both of them give an excited squeal when they learn that the next stop would be Paris.
* SunglassesAtNight: Jen due to having sunglasses as part of her default design. She wears them even during night challenges like in Transylvania.
* TrueBlueFemininity: Jen is a fashionista, and her and Tom's signature color is blue.
* ValleyGirl: Jen, despite being in her early 20s, still talks like a teenager.
* WhoWritesThisCrap: Apparently they wrote their introduction themselves, which causes this reaction from Don.
* WorthIt: In "Mediterranean Homesick Blues", they get penalized because they came to Calanque de Maubois on a yacht instead of by train as instructed. However, they shrug it off, saying they got to party with the Prince of Monaco on the yacht and that Don was just jealous.

A pair of loud small-town rock music enthusiasts who have their own band called Devil Frog. The two share a strong friendship, to the extent where Rock is usually the only one who can get Spud (who is about as quick-thinking and quick-acting as an actual spud) to react to outside stimuli at all.
----
* AirGuitar:
** Rock often does this whenever they successfully complete a challenge.
** Spud's air guitar skills lands them first place in "I Love Ridonc & Roll".
* BasementDweller: Although they don't match the stereotype, they literally live in their parents' basements.
* BigEater: Spud's mom describes him as a "light eater" - when the light comes on, he starts eating.
* BuffySpeak: Rock talks like this a lot, often using sound effects to describe his feelings at the moment.
* TheCameo: [[spoiler:Both of them appear in the ''[[WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Total Drama Island (2023)]]'' episode "[[Recap/TotalDramaDrownTownAbbey Drown Town Abbey]]" as passengers aboard the plane in which Nichelle Ladonna stops a ninja enemy in one of her movies, suggesting that the Rocksters may have become film extras since their participation in ''The Ridonculous Race''.]]
* CharacterDevelopment: After [[spoiler: losing a non-elimination leg]], Spud realizes that he can't just put all the responsibility on Rock's shoulders and starts trying to be a better partner.
* CharacterTic: Rock strums an AirGuitar every time he completes a challenge.
* ChekhovsSkill: [[spoiler: Their air guitar skills earned them first place in Finland.]]
* DiabolusExMachina: [[spoiler: The double elimination that sent them home wasn't announced until ''after'' they had reached the Chill Zone and narrowly avoided last place.]]
* DelayedReaction: Rock is able to [[ExploitedTrope take full advantage]] of Spud's dimwittedness, as he knows ''exactly'' when pain will register.
** In "Brazilian Pain Forest", his hand gets bitten by several ants, and it takes him over ''two hours'' to realize the pain.
** Things become difficult for them in Finland, when Spud gets bitten by a seal while trying to cross an ice floe. The pain registered right as he was trapped in the middle of the water.
** In a non-painful example, Spud only screams in terror ''after'' the Daters stop after nearly crashing into his and Rock's jeep.
*** In the Rockers' confessional afterwards, Rock compliments Spud on his reaction time improving, and then is seen waiting a long time for Spud to reply. Spud eventually does after Rock's walked around the confessional booth, read part of a book, and drank half a glass of water.
** In "Down and Outback", Spud screams in terror that they're going to hit a mountain ''after'' their glider crashed into said mountain.
* {{Determinator}}: Rock practically ran the first third of the race on his own because Spud was too lazy to help out. It's taken to extremes in "Down and Outback", where Rock injures both his ankles and then proceeds to continue the challenge by dragging himself along the ground.
* TheDitz: Spud is gullible and can't refuse a dare, a weakness that the Cadets once exploited.
--> '''Spud:''' There's a lesson I've learned again and again: if something ''sounds'' like a bad idea, ''looks'' like a bad idea, and requires a dare to do it, it's gonna be ''craaazy!''
* EnergeticAndSoftSpokenDuo: Rock is the more talkative and energetic of the duo, while Spud is too dimwitted to realize where he is and what he's doing at any given moment.
* EpicFail: Rock's attempt to motivate Spud with Choco Covered Oinkies in Beijing. [[spoiler: Spud steals and eats the whole box and then goes on a sugar rampage before crashing right before the finish line. They only survive the leg due to it being a non-elimination round.]]
* {{Expy}}: They're based off [[Film/TheViewAskewniverse Jay and Silent Bob]], particularly early on in the season where Spud rarely talked.
* FatAndSkinny: Rock is the Skinny to Spud's Fat.
* FlatCharacter: Initially played straight. For the first few episodes, Spud doesn't really do anything except bobbing his head to the music he's listening to until Rock drags him off, while Rock usually describes their situation or does air guitar solos. However, this is eventually subverted, as later episodes focus on the two improving their teamwork in order to win the competition.
* {{Foil}}: They are this to each other. Rock is very determined to succeed, but also very emotional and easily discouraged. On the flip side, Spud is laid back to a fault, but better at staying calm under pressure.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: In their introduction interview, Rock says Spud isn't good at anything except rocking, but comforts him, saying he'll carry him. This ends up being true, as Rock carries his team for the most of their time on the show.
* GameBreakingInjury: [[spoiler: Rock injures both of his ankles early in "Down and Outback", and his inability to contribute during that leg of the race ultimately leads to the Rockers' elimination.]]
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Rock has blonde hair and, despite his loudmouthed attitude as a rock fan, is very friendly with others, especially to his best friend and teammate, Spud.
* HeadphonesEqualIsolation: When Spud wears his headphones, he completely forgets about the world around him.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Rock and Spud focus a lot more on their relationship with each other than they do with interacting with other teams.
* HiddenDepths:
** Rock manages to carry the team despite Spud being a complete [[TheLoad Load]], showing more and more of these and keeping their team in the race almost entirely on his own.
** Spud knows all about snakes and what they ate which proves useful in "Down and Outback" after finding a snake that ate ''exactly'' 10 bunnies. He also provides Carrie with surprisingly accurate information about the [[FiveStagesOfGrief "Seven Stages of Heartbreak"]].
* {{Keet}}: Rock most of the time, and Spud when motivated or dared.
* IconicItem: Spud's headphones. He noticeably doesn't wear them as much after his CharacterDevelopment.
* {{Leitmotif}}: A guitar riff followed by a drum solo.
* TheLoad: Spud barely pays attention to the race and lets Rock do all the work, much to the latter's dismay. [[spoiler: This results in them consistently placing very low during the first half of the season, until they finally snag first place in "I Love Ridonc & Roll".]]
* MeaningfulName:
** Rock loves to rock out, while Spud pretty much has the attention span of a potato.
** Their team name being "The '''Rock'''ers" is mainly just a reference to them being metal-heads, but it's also a [[{{foreshadowing}} hint]] about Rock essentially having to be a one-man team because of how lazy Spud is.
* MetalHead: They front their own garage band, Devil Frog.
* MoodWhiplash: In "Down and Outback", [[spoiler:they thought they had beaten the Stepbrothers in finishing last, until Don revealed it was a double elimination episode and made them get eliminated as well]].
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Rock greatly resembles Axl Rose of Music/GunsNRoses.
* NoNeckChump: Spud is a rotund boy of medium height whose head at cheek level makes a straight line down to his torso.
* OddFriendship: Chet & Lorenzo invite them over for video games after [[spoiler:their double-elimination]] in "Down and Outback".
* OnlyKnownByHisNickname: "Rock" can be used as a given name, but "Spud" is likely a nickname, and his real name is not known.
* TheQuietOne: In the earlier episodes, Spud almost never spoke, and when he did it was usually a word at a time. Later episodes would let him speak more, albeit not as much as Rock.
* RedOniBlueOni: Rock is the red, Spud is the blue.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: Spud gives off a high pitched shriek when a seal bites on his head.
* SimpletonVoice: Spud speaks almost as fast as he thinks... slowly.
* SmarterThanYouLook: Rock, according to the official reveal.
* SoProudOfYou: [[spoiler: After their elimination, Rock talks about how proud he is of Spud for making it as far as they did in the race.]]
* StandaloneEpisode: They went through most of their run without interacting with any of the other characters. The only time they did interact with others was in their final episode where they both interacted with the Stepbrothers and Spud briefly interacted with Carrie.
* SwappedRoles: [[spoiler: Rock gets injured early in "Down and Outback", forcing Spud to carry the team after spending most of the season being carried by Rock.]]
* ThrowTheDogABone: [[spoiler: "I Love Ridonc and Roll", their only leg win.]]
* TookALevelInKindness: While Spud was never an outright {{Jerkass}}, he was very lazy and uncaring, even refusing to help in Iceland when Rock was begging him for assistance. Once his CharacterDevelopment kicked in, he became a lot more friendly in addition to being more willing to help.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Spud loves Choco Covered Oinkies; Rock tried to use this as a motivator. [[EpicFail Keyword being "tried".]]
* UnderdogsNeverLose: [[spoiler: Subverted. Despite being the underdogs for their entire run, they get taken out at the halfway point of the season.]]
* VitriolicBestBuds: One sided on Rock's side. While Rock considers Spud his best friend, Rock gets annoyed with Spud's laziness, particularly in "Bjorken Telephone", where Rock force feeds Spud to get him to participate.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: They look like they're in their mid-twenties at least, but WordOfGod revealed on a Facebook post that they are both 18. [[spoiler:Come season seven of ''[[WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Total Drama Island (2023)]]'', and they also appear in one of Nichelle Ladonna's recent action flicks just like they did in ''The Ridonculous Race'', suggesting that they still look like if they are in their mid-twenties even twelve years after competing in the race.]]

Two dedicated vegans, environmentalists, and animal rights activists who take granola hippie beliefs and values to all new levels. The two want to win ''The Ridonculous Race'' so that they can donate their prize money to various charities dedicated to animal rights and the environment.
----
* AuthorAvatar: Of writers Laurie Elliot and Miles Smith.
* AscendedToCarnivorism: [[spoiler:They had to eat meat in Iceland to avoid elimination. Miles was horrified by this and Laurie was pissed when she found out that it was a non-elimination Leg and she ate meat for nothing. However, in the following episode, Laurie starts to embrace her newfound carnivorism, and Miles berates her for it.]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: [[spoiler: Laurie undergoes this ''twice''. First swore to that the Karma gods would strike against Dwayne when he took her and Miles' fossil. Second when when she discovers that she and Miles have been forced to eat meat for a no-elimination challenge and proceeds to attack Don.]]
* BigNo: Miles, as their fossil slides away.
* BigWhat: [[spoiler:Miles, when Laurie says that they have to eat the Icelandic feast.]]
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Zigzagged. Laurie and Miles do seem like genuinely nice, unselfish girls with a sincerely noble goal to protect the planet, but they're also somewhat preachy when it comes to their nature-preserving acts and many of their interactions with the other teams are negative despite their seemingly kind personalities.
** For example, while Laurie had a right to be upset with Dwayne, she overreacted by swearing karma would hit him and his son and despite being a peace-lover, she gets violent and assaults Don after realizing that she ate meat for a non-elimination round.
** Miles is a friend to Laurie, but she continuously shamed her for eating meat despite the fact that she had also eaten the meat and Laurie had already expressed her guilt over the act.
* BreakTheCutie: [[spoiler:The TraumaCongaLine that Laurie is put through in "Brazilian Pain Forest" does this to her.]]
* CallItKarma: Laurie believes in this when she threaten [[spoiler: to Dwayne Sr. that the Karma Goddess will get them for taking her and Miles' fossil]].
* ADeathInTheLimelight: [[spoiler:They're heavily focused on in the two episodes prior to their elimination, especially Laurie who goes through a TraumaCongaLine.]]
* DownToTheLastPlay: Three times. [[spoiler:First in Morocco and second in Iceland. The third time in Brazil leads to their elimination.]]
* DreadlockRasta: Laurie's hair is styled into dreadlocks, fitting her GranolaGirl personality. They both try to use environmental friendly alternatives on some occasions.
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** Miles is every bit as pacifistic and animal loving as Laurie, but after being nearly mauled alive by a shark at the south of France, she makes it pretty clearly she's taking sharks out of her preservation list, shocking Laurie.
** Speaking of Laurie, she's a pacifist by nature, but said pacifism has its limits. When Dwayne accidentally steals their fossil during the Iceland challenge, Laurie curses him that the Goddess of Karma will make him pay, and when Don reveals to her and Miles that the round was non-elimination after they had just [[spoiler:broken their morals and eaten animal meat]] in order to stay in the game, Laurie ''lunges at'' and beats the crap out of Don.
* EyeGlasses: Miles's eyes take up her whole glasses, even when overlapping outside her head.
* FateWorseThanDeath: [[spoiler:Played with. After their elimination, Don gingerly reports to the audience their flight crashed in an uncharted island full of cannibals, but according to FreshTV, he was only joking. This is later affirmed in the finale, as both Vegan girls are in the peanut gallery.]]
* FriendToAllLivingThings: They love animals and nature. They have dedicated themselves to conservation of all wildlife, though sharks are now off their-or at least Miles'-list.
* GenderBlenderName: Miles is typically used as a male name. This Miles is female.
* GranolaGirl: Don called them both granola-loving hippy-dippy friends. In Morocco alone, they didn't ride the camel and chose to bike the scooter.
* HellishPupils: Laurie when making her [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/totaldramaisland/images/2/26/LaurieRage.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/640?cb=20151107071317 Angry Face]].
* HeroicBSOD: After [[spoiler:being forced to eat meat to avoid elimination.]]
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Laurie and Miles are both great friends during the race having the fact that they are both vegans be the glue that keeps their friendship together.
* HolierThanThou: Downplayed, while they do come off as kind and peace-loiving, they also praise themselves for being advocates for Mother Nature and they didn't have many positive interactions with other teams (save Ellody during a very minimal scene together in the second episode) as Miles spurns Leonard's polite greeting and Laurie wished ill on Dwayne when he and Junior accidentally stole her's and Miles' fossil.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Both of them have done some hypocritic acts during their run on the show.
** Laurie states that she doesn't normally show negative emotions, yet she overreacts when Dwayne unknowingly stole hers and Miles' fossil, even wishing karma on him even though it was a genuine accident.
** Miles gives Laurie a lot of flak over eating meat in the Icelandic challenge in spite of the fact that she also had to eat the meat.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Laurie invokes this on Dwayne, since he manages to get her fossil when she loses track of it. She even called this tripe "The Goddess Of Karma" .
* LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain: When Laurie starts to freak out during the flight to Brazil [[spoiler:upon being reminded of having to eat animal meat in order to stay in the game]], Miles [[DopeSlap slaps her]] and tells her to focus on the game, telling her that what happened in Iceland, ''stays'' in Iceland.
* TheLoad: After Jay accidentally bumps into Laurie from behind, he gets her whole face bitten by ants from the glove, making Miles having to carry the team by herself, especially during the feather uniform challenge, [[spoiler:which get them to suffer a 30-minute penalty after coming in first place and unfortunately get them out from the race after Spud screams and startles them]].
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler:Laurie when coming to terms with the fact she ate meat when she didn't have to]].
* NatureLover: Two vegans who respect the planet above anything else.
* NeverBareheaded: They're always shown wearing a bandana and rastacap, respectively.
* NeverMyFault: They hope that karma will hit the Father & Son team for stealing their fossil, despite the fact that they let it go so they can thank the "fossil spirits".
%%* NewAgeRetroHippie: Both of them.
* NightmareFace: Laurie gives one to [[spoiler:Dwayne after Don allows him and his son to check at the Chill Zone using the fossil that she and Miles found.]]
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: [[spoiler:Laurie gives one to Don after learning that they ate meat to avoid elimination in a non-elimination leg]].
* RunningGag: Mentioning they'll put an animal they encounter in their conservation list.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Of Dawn. From the love of animals, dedication to Mother Nature, and constant mentioning of auras.
* TomboyishName: Miles.
* TraumaCongaLine: [[spoiler:In "Brazilian Pain Forest", Laurie has to live with breaking her vegan principles of eating meat, gets her face swollen up after being bitten by ants, and repeatedly blamed by Miles.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: As a result of their last episodes.
* YouthfulFreckles: Both of them.

Two extremely intelligent university students who have entered ''The Ridonculous Race'' in hopes of acquiring money to fund their research into astrophysics. The two hope to use their superior intellects to win the competition, firmly believing that their smarts will get them quite far.
----
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: [[spoiler:They have a good laugh over their intelligence causing their downfall.]]
* AerithAndBob: While Mary is a very common name, Ellody most certainly is not, though Élodie is quite common in Québec. In fact, with the exception of Ennui, Crimson, and Spud (whose names are insinuated to be nicknames), Ellody could be this to the majority of the cast.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Ellody. WordOfGod says she's Indian.
* AwesomeByAnalysis: They break down and analyze every possible situation, sometimes too much for their own good.
* BollywoodNerd: Ellody, she's stated to be Indian according to WordOfGod and is an very intelligent university student.
* CelibateHero: [[http://www.freshtvinc.com/blog/meet-ellody-and-mary-from-the-ridonculous-race/ In their official reveal]], it's stated that neither have an interest in having boyfriends.
* ComplexityAddiction: [[spoiler:The reason of their elimination. They lost time in making complicated calculations to just build a sand castle.]]
* CoveredInGunge: After finishing the sky deck task.
* DitzyGenius: For a team called "the Geniuses", they make a very stupid move [[spoiler: that costs them the game. They waste a lot of time in the sandcastle making challenge by writing out design plans, and end up coming dead last.]]
* DontExplainTheJoke: While having to get their next travel tip off the fin of a shark, Mary jokes that she used a magnet to 'scare' the sharks away ... and then her and Ellody go off on an educational rant about the science behind magnets in salt water and the electrical impulses of sharks. Eventually Don butts in and practically begs the editors to switch over to ''anything'' more interesting than this.
* EyeGlasses: Played straight with Mary; averted with Ellody.
* FlatCharacter: They have no distinctive traits aside from their intelligence. Them getting eliminated 16th doesn't help their case.
* GagNose: Mary has a long pointed nose, much like Harold's from the original ''Total Drama'' series.
* GracefulLoser: [[spoiler: They aren't disheartened by their elimination at all. Ellody even cracks a self-deprecating joke about it.]]
* HeterosexualLifePartners: The fact that they are both scientific geniuses is what makes them good friends with each other. They get concerned about each other when one of them goes into a panic as such a situation happened to them when the data blueprint the wrote in the sand for their sandcastle gets washed away by ocean waves and becomes a huge factor for their elimination from the race.
* HoistByTheirOwnPetard: In the end, [[spoiler: it was their intelligence that caused their elimination.]]
* {{Irony}}: [[spoiler:As Ellody herself points out, they expected their dedication to detail to be their greatest strength, but it ended up being their biggest weakness instead.]]
* {{Leitmotif}}: A chiptune theme.
* MythologyGag: The designs that they write on the sand are just like the ones that Brainzilla and Cameron wrote.
* NerdsAreVirgins: Both Ellody and Mary state that they are not interested in perusing relationships.
* NerdGlasses: To signify [[SmartPeopleWearGlasses their intelligence]].
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Mary bears a slight resemblance to Creator/MayimBialik.
* NotSoAboveItAll:
** Ellody's usually very calm and collected. But screw up her plans, and she freaks out.
** Both Ellody and Mary make fun of Tom's and Jen's fake tans in "Mediterranean Homesick Blues".
* OhCrap: Ellody's reaction to losing her and Mary's complex plan to build a sandcastle.
-->'''Ellody:''' ''(after their data is washed away)'' OUR DATA!!! \
'''Mary:''' We'll just have to wing it.\
'''Ellody:''' I ''never'' wing it! I DON'T KNOW ''HOW''!!!
* OneSteveLimit: [[PlayedWith Played with]]. Her name is the same one as the first name of [[Characters/TotalDramaFrogsOfDeath Mary Kate]] from ''[[WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Total Drama Island (2023)]]''. However, due to the latter being better known as [[OnlyKnownByInitials MK]], it's not that noticeable.
* ThePerfectionist: While Mary shows willingness to wing it when necessary, Ellody is always by the book. Ellody's insistence on perfection is what ultimately costs the Geniuses the Race.
* TheQuietOne: Mary only speaks in "Mediterranean Homesick Blues", [[spoiler: the episode where she and Ellody were eliminated.]]
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: Again, they're called "The Geniuses" for a reason.
* StreetSmart: A {{downplayed|trope}} example, Mary is this compared to Ellody. Mary attempts to use layman's terms when she explains why sharks are repelled by magnetism, and she is also more willing to improvise when things don't go according to plan.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute:
** They seem to be non-psychopathic versions of Scarlett, especially Ellody.
** Ellody herself looks a bit like Courtney, and even shares her voice actress. She also seems to be the more uptight of the two.
* TechnoBabble: They have a habit of giving speeches full of long, complex words that no one else can understand.
* TeenGenius: They're literally labelled the "Geniuses".
* WeHardlyKnewYe: [[spoiler:Accomplished next to nothing and were the third to go, not even receiving ADeathInTheLimelight like many other teams.]]

{{LARP}}ers with a ''very'' loose grip on reality. They seem to believe their magic is real and won't hear anything against this delusion. Leonard has had experience with reality TV due to his time on ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Pahkitew Island'', but his friend Tammy is a newcomer to this.

See [[Characters/TotalDramaWaneyihtamMaskwak Total Drama Waneyihtam Maskwak]] for tropes specific to Leonard during his time on ''Total Drama''.
----
* AdaptationExpansion: Leonard's backstory is elaborated on a bit more in this series so he's no longer just a [[FlatCharacter generic]] [=LARPer=].
* AscendedExtra: Downplayed with Tammy. Her name is adapted from the name "Timmy", which is the unseen person Leonard is on the phone with in his ''Pahkitew Island'' audition tape. Tammy's existence may be considered a minor {{retcon}} of Timmy's existence. Or who knows, maybe they're two different people with similar names.
* CloudCuckoolander: Leonard still believes he's a wizard and also thinks the Adversity Twins are magical doppelgängers.
* DickDastardlyStopsToCheat: [[spoiler:Had they not stopped to cast a spell to deter Dwayne, Junior, and the Vegans towards the end of the Morocco Leg, they wouldn't have been the first team to be eliminated.]]
* DownToTheLastPlay: [[spoiler:In the Morocco Leg, it came down to a footrace between them, the Vegans, and Father & Son. They ended up losing because they stopped to cast a spell to protect their lead.]]
* FatAndSkinny: A prime example of GeekPhysiques, Tammy is short and fat whereas Leonard is tall and thin.
* FlatCharacter: Tammy has no characteristics besides being a female version of Leonard, likely due to the aforementioned's inclusion in the series being a last minute decision.
* {{Geek}}: They're pretty much this at school, and got bullied as a result. They met each other when they got crammed into the same locker.
* HornyVikings: Tammy wears a viking costume.
* JokeCharacter: They believe that their magic is real [[spoiler:which leads to their early elimination]]. Leonard and Tammy's purpose on the race seems to be excessively gimmicky fodder that would only serve to annoy others and would not lead to anyone complaining about their favorite team being eliminated first. They were not really popular with the other racers, often getting spite and annoyance from them and Don was very annoyed with them too for trying to use magic in the race to the point where he called security to get them out.
* {{LARP}}: They're [=LARP=]ing partners. Turns out Leonard has always had someone who shares his quirkiness.
* NeverBareheaded: Both are always shown wearing their headgear.
* NoNeckChump: Tammy is a rotund girl of medium height whose head at cheek level makes a slightly inwards-angled straight line down to her torso.
* TheQuietOne: Tammy didn't say a word in episode 1.
* SatelliteCharacter: Leonard being in this as well as Tammy's existence is pretty much just so that they can be [[spoiler: the first team eliminated]].
* SmallNameBigEgo: They're overconfident that their belief in magic will help them in anything. [[spoiler: This is what caused their elimination.]]
* StuffedIntoALocker: Tammy said they met when they were both crammed into the same locker.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Tammy, being a big-bodied, blonde-haired girl who thoroughly believes in magic and hangs out with Leonard, is highly similar to Sugar from ''Pahkitew Island''.
* {{Transplant}}: Leonard's a latecomer to the ''Total Drama'' series, but transplanted nonetheless.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: [[spoiler:They are the first team to be eliminated.]]

Two aging former tennis stars whose agents entered them in the race together in hopes of using their appearance to score some new sponsorship and merchandising deals. They have a longtime FriendlyRivalry and are always snarking at the other then laughing about it together.
----
%%zce* BigOlEyebrows: Pete.
* BlackBeadEyes: Pete, who is one of four non-bespectacled characters in the franchise, along with Chris, DJ, and Rodney, to have them.
* ADeathInTheLimelight: [[spoiler:They get a lot more focus in their elimination episode.]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: Were mentioned in an episode of ''WesternAnimation/{{Sixteen}}'' as tennis athletes years before this series premiered.
* EnemyMine: Well they are former rivals.
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: They still can't set aside their differences and are too busy getting back at each other to play the game.
* FriendlyRivalry: While they definitely have their moments of bickering and self-sabotaging just to one-up the other, they are described as this and they're usually affably teasing towards each other. They're even described as this trope in their introduction.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Gerry and Pete have known each other for decades. They were fierce rivals in the past but are shown to have a nicely developing friendship during the race, as their conflict with each other now mostly takes the form of insulting jokes towards each other.
* {{Mooning}}: Discussed.
--> '''Gerry:''' I haven't seen the moon in years.\
