This is a character page for Characters/ThornUniverse, listing characters from Literature/DoraWilkSeries and Literature/ShamanBlues.

Vampires and werewolves are classified as sub-categories of magicals, but for the most part, they keep themselves apart from magic-using society. Their abilities are more "biological" than that of other magicals, and they express much smaller variety of powers compared to their supposed kinsmen. While there's little love lost between the two, there are several similarities - most notably living in separate groups (called covens and packs) and having international organizations keeping an eye on all things vampire and werewolf - the Conclave and the Hand.

!!Roman

A sorcerer turned vampire, a Council member and the absolute master of Thorn's vampire coven. Roman is a shrewd and experienced politician, but he's not above having some fun in his position, and supports Dora mostly because her antics are amusing to watch. While this may be a questionable motivation, he's one of Dora's most reliable allies. Thanks to his past as a magical, he bypasses many vampire weaknesses, making him especially powerful.

* AntiMagic: He can sense and disable protective wards.
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: He's a daywalker and possesses vast array of magic powers, which is how he ended up as Thron's vampire king.
* BadassBureaucrat: He's an expert politician and Dora's ally, but doesn't shy away from taking part in the action if need be.
* BerserkButton: Comparisons to fictional vampires are the only thing that disturbs his aura of vague amusement.
* BigGood: Ends up being Dora's greatest ally in the Council.
* DayInTheLimelight: Wolf In Sheep's Clothing has the most Roman to date, and offers a good look into his personality and world.
* DaywalkingVampire: His StoryBreakerPower, in-universe, is that he can walk in broad daylight, while other vampires are destroyed by it.
* DeadpanSnarker: He likes snarking and sniping at Dora.
* ComboPlatterPowers: He has glamour, illusions, daylwalking, vampiric senses and strength, immortality and probably a host of other powers.
* FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire: He grows into Dora's ally, and never feeds on people against their will, though that's partly because that'd just be a bad business.
* Foil: To Gajusz, Triple Alliance's vampire lord. While Gajusz is inept, insecure and has to rely on Teresa to keep himself on top of things, Roman is an expert politician, excellent manipulator and an absolute lord of his coven.
* Glamour: He can control minds of humans and weaker magicals to some extent.
* Herald: He's the one to bring Dora in on the Soul Thief case, kickstarting the entire series.
* ItAmusedMe: His reason for supporting Dora is that she's fun to watch.
* JediMindTrick: Has this sort of powers as part of his vampiric abilities. Dora even calls it a Jedi Mind Trick.
* MasterOfIllusion: He can create illusions so good and so detailed - complete with smells and sounds - that it borders on Humanshifting.
* MustBeInvited: Defied; his past as a magical makes him bypass this limitation of vampirekind as well.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: He should be burned by the sun, unable to enter houses without being invited, and forced to sleep during the day, but apparently, who you were before the change impacts who you are afterwards.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: He's two hundred years old.
* RomanticVampireBoy: Played for laughs; he half-jokingly tries to convince Dora to get turned into a vampire and rule as his consort, as some of their power would transfer to their "children" and they'd create a strain of powerful magical/vampire hybrids.
* SlaveToPR: He can't show any weakness, as he claims that if his aura of invincibility was broken, the coven would tear him to shreds.
* SorcererKing: A wizard-king of vampires.
* SuperSenses: He can see at night, his hearing is exeptional and he can smell a single person in a tightly-packed crowd of spectators. It borders on supernatural, too, as he can see people hiding themselves with illusions.
* TheSleepless: Without the detrimental influence the sun has on other vampires, he apparently doesn't need to sleep.
* Troll: Often does and speaks randm stuff for fun and to see the other side's reaction. And just watch him at Dora's "trial" - he's clearly having a time of his life, covertly insulting everyone.
* VampireMonarch: He's the lord of Thorn's vampire coven.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Grows into this with Dora, and the two like to take potshots at each other whenever they're in the same room.
* WeakButSkilled: He's noted as being second-to-last when it comes to power levels of the Council members, but second best when it comes to political experience and guile.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: An odd case. One one hand, he's ReallySevenHundredYearsOld, clocking in at two centuries. However, he looks and acts much more mature than Miron, who's a century older, and it's commonly assumed in-universe that he's at least five hundred years old.
-------

!!Gajusz
Vampire master of Triple Alliance's coven and, by extension, one of three rulers of Triple Alliance. He is, however, a rather inept lord, and one widely reviled in his own coven. Despite this, he continues to rule them, as any replacement would likely be a step down.

* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: His coven dislikes him and everyone agrees that someone else could do a better job. Unfortunately, "someone else" hasn't materialized yet, as all other candidates are much worse. No-one's about to throw himself in line of fire to protect him, though.
* BerserkButton: Underminding his authority.
* DudeWheresMyRespect: He's angry at Dora for not respecting him as master of Triple Alliance coven. She doesn't care much.
* FlatWhat: His reaction to Dora digging three graves behind his coven's home.
* HonorBeforeReason: He refuses to let Dora investigate strange happennings in his coven because he hates her.
* Jerkass: He cares for little more than his position in the coven, disrespect others and outright insuls Dora, refusing her help even if it might save his coven - until he himself is in danger, that is.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: When it turns out Dora's his only hope, he reluctantly agrees to cooperate with her. Dora isn't thrilled either.
* TheCaligula: By all accounts, he's a horrid ruler.
* VampireMonarch: Master of Triple Alliance's coven.
* VetinariJobSecurity: The only other candidate to take the master mantle is Albin, and he's even worse.

!!Teresa
Gajusz's seneshal and practically a leader of the coven, as she's the one to interpret his orders and put them into action. Dora's ally in Triple Alliance's vampire community, but also a vampire suffragette, fighting for she-vampires to gain more influence in vampire world.

* BetaCouple: With Joachim, the vampire who ends up in Dora's "coven", which causes some amounts of drama.
* HypercompetentSidekick: He has all the competence Gajusz lacks and then some, managing to keep the coven working even when he's pretty much acting against it.
* NumberTwo: Gajusz's seneshal.
* SilkHidingSteel: She's elegant and well-behaved, but also a politician so cunning, Gajusz doesn't realize she pretty much took the coven over from him.
* SmurfettePrinciple: She's the only she-vampire of any importance that we see. No surprise she wants more women in vampiric politics.
* TheGoodChancellor: While not entirely on board with Gajusz, she certainly makes his coven function.
* TheQuietOne: She prefers to keep her opinions to herself when in Gajusz's presence.
* TheStarscream: She intends to take over Triple Alliance's coven when she's ready.
--------------

!!Eryk

A vampire of Gajusz's who's been battling immortality depression and has nearly comitted suicide before meeting Szelma and nearly drowning, leading to him rediscovering the beauty of life. As the only vampire in the coven to successfully resist immortality depression, he's knows from the outset that something's off about the string of suicides in Gajusz's coven.

* AllTherapistsAreMuggles: Averted; he goes to a therapist to help with his suicidal thoughts, and it appears to be helping. He partly bonds with Szelma over their experience as therapy patients.
* BetterToDieThanBeKilled: Despite seriously contemplating suicide, when a sea monster is about to eat him, he realizes he doesn't want to be killed.
* ChekhovsSkill: His spiral into depression turns out to be this, as he's able to recognize that something's off about the way Gajusz's vampires are walking out into the sunlight.
* DrivenToSuicide: His growing dissatisfaction with eternal life and lack of purpose has led him to the brink of suicide.
* HappilyFailedSuicide: He's much happier after Szelma saves him from his suicide by sea monster.
* InterspeciesRomance: He has a werecat girlfriend.
* MayflyDecemberRomance: He has at least a hundred years on Szelma, and she's apparently not gifted with any form of longevity. So far, he doesn't seem to care.
* MeetCute: He bumps into Szelma in a pub.
* OddCouple: He's a melancholic vampire, she's an energetic werecat. They're a couple.
* OneHeadTaller: Szelma is one head shorter than him.
* RedOniBlueOni: Blue to Szelma's red.
* RomanticVampireBoy: To Szelma.
* SuicideBySea: When the sea monster attacks him for the first time, he's tempted to let it kill him and end his life before realizing that he doesn't want to go just yet.
* TheEeyore: He's definitely a melancholic, with a dash of a cynic.
* ThePowerOfLove: Saved from suicide by his burgeoning affection for Szelma.
* WhoWantsToLiveForever: His main psychological problem - he's lived for so long, he's pretty much tired of immortality and finds himself with nothing to do and nothing to live for.
-------

!!Albin
One of the most influential vampire lords in Europe, with over two hundred vampires - not counting covens sworn to him - under his rule. This comes in no small part thanks to him being a sorcerer. He moves to Triple Alliance to take over Gajusz's cover as well, but Dora's intervention stops him.

* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: Even the Conclave he enlists to help him hates him.
* AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: What he attempts to do - scare Gajusz into paranoia and then charm him so that the vampire would obey him completely.
* BreatherBoss: The novel where he's an antagonist is something of a BreatherEpisode between parts two and three of Raphael problems, and all things considered, once he's identified, he's easily beaten.
* ChekhovsGunman: He first appears in Gods Must Be Crazy accusing Dora of killing his creation - and Soul Thief's associate - before becoming the villain in All Stays In The Family.
* KillItWithFire: He kills vampires by making them walk out into the sunlight, burning them alive.
* ManOfWealthAndTaste: Likes to show off his money and elegance, but once Dora breaks into his house, she notes that in his pursuit to show off just how much money he has, he's lost any sense of taste.
* MoreThanMindControl: His charms make vampires see memories of their lives as human, thus making them unaware that they're sleepwalking and that the sun is dangerous.
* ParanoiaGambit: How Dora beats him - she tells him she's reversed his "walk into sunlight" charm so that it'd strike him rather than any other vampire. He has no way to check it, so he abandons the cause out of fear.
* SorcererKing: He's a vampire sorcerer and one of the most influential vampire lords in Europe.
* SuicideBySunlight: His M.O. is coercing vampires into this.
* VampireMonarch: Even moreso than Roman and Gajusz; he has other vampire covens under him, even.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: He's noted as having platinum-white hair, and is murdering vampires to take over their coven.

--------
!Werewolves

!!Brunon, "Bruno"

The packmaster of Thorn werewolves, and thus a member of the Conclave. He's got an ongoing beef with Dora, brought about when she refused to let his nephew go free just because he was his nephew. It turns out there's a lot more he does that others would find rather unseemly.

* AntiClimaxBoss: It takes the entire novel just to find him, but once he shows up, he's taken down within two pages.
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: Averted; he got the job because his brother didn't take it.
* Blackmail: He blackmails Katarzyna with a token that could make her his slave if he wanted to.
* CainAndAbel: Cain to Borys' Abel, despite being the younger brother.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: The general opinion about him is that he's an idiot, but he manages to raid an elven cairn and take it over, and manipulate two gods into fighting one another.
* EvilPrince: The pack should actually go to his brother Borys, but the latter bailed out because he didn't want to compete with Bruno.
* EvilIsPetty: His entire grudge against Dora is because she refused to let go of a case concering his nephew.
* GladiatorGames: He endorses those between various shapeshifters, despite shifter fights being wildly illegal, and several participants being held against their will.
* Jerkass: He sees nothing wrong in his nephew raping multiple women, tries to force Dora to let him go based on nepotism, always acts against her because of a petty grudge and forces werewolves to participate in fights for amusement of the public.
* Nepotism: Tries to force Dora to let free of his nephew on his basis. She refuses, and thus enmity is born.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: He summons the Fist to Thorn to throw another obstruction in Dora's way, but Johann ends up helping her rather than him.
* ObstructiveBureaucrat: He's the one Council member who's always opposed to Dora's actions.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: He's a mysogynistic scum who doesn't see anything wrong with rape.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections: He openly disobeys the law knowing that his identity as a Council member has him protected.
* ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem: Likewise, he believes that his membership on the Council is a carte blanche to do whatever he wishes.
* SelfMadeOrphan: He's killed his father to get the Alpha position.
* TheGhost: Despite being the main antagonist of the series finale, he makes very little appearance in the story.
* TheManBehindTheMan: He's apparently behind Katarzyna's actions against Dora, though frankly, it doesn't seem like Katarzyna needed much convincing.
* Warhawk: He craves war with Dora and jumps on the first opportunity to start it.
---------

!!Olaf
Packmaster of Triple Alliance and overall a very amicable man, defying a lot of werewolf stereotypes. He's actually from Norway and has taken over Alliance's pack after his own was slaughtered, and while he's worried about Dora wrestling the control over the werewolves away from him, he turns into an ally after making sure this won't be the case.

* ActionPolitician: His position brings a lot of political responsibilities, which he performs admirably, but he's not afraid to get his hands - or claws - dirty when necessary.
* AmbiguousSituation: At first, it's unclear what his relation with Dora will be, as he's suspicious both of her
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: He's taken over the pack by killing the previous leader, and lets no-one take it from him by beating every pretendant to the "throne".
* BetaCouple: With Inga in All Stays In The Family, although it takes Dora poking them in the right direction to get him there.
* BigGood: Easily the most nicest and most "good" member of Triple Alliance's Council.
* ChallengingTheChief: How he got to be the leader of Alliance's coven.
* CreateYourOwnVillain: Underplayed, but if he didn't call Dora "Faoiliarna", he wouldn't awaken this part of her genes, and the whole problem of Dora entertaining the possibility of taking over his pack would be averted altogether.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: His first coven was pretty much slaughtered, and less than ten werewolves survived. He has some scars, both physical and psychological, left over from that.
* DividedWeFall: He's distrustful and suspicious of Dora at first, and opposes cooperation with vampires. He comes around, though.
* DotingParent: An adopted one to Szelma. He's pretty much unable to refuse her, and even lets her date a vampire.
* Foil: To Brunon. The two are a case study in "stereotypical leader vs. good leader".
* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: Stereotypical werewolf is a brutish, somewhat moronic person without education past high school, vulgar and quick to fight. Olaf is intelligent and introspective, and tries to impose order and law-abiding on his wolves.
* NiceGuy: Once he gets over his distrust, he's very nice and helpful, and he adores his adopted daughter.
* ObliviousToLove: Inga's falling head over heels for him, but it takes a long, long time for him to notice anything.
* OpenMindedParent: He's very tolerant of his adopted daughter going out with a vampire, despite not being fond of vampires in general.
* SoleSurvivor: Underplayed, but he's one of very few survivors of his old pack.
* TheGoodKing: Caring, tries to straighten up his werewolves, nice.
* UndyingLoyalty: Will do anything for his pack.
----------

!!Brygida, "Szelma"

Olaf's adopted daughter and a honorary member of Triple Alliance's pack. She's actually a werecat, not a werewolf, but this doesn't stop her from calling the pack her family. Dates a vampire.

* BreakInThreat: Does this on Dora's behalf, breaking into Albin's house to leave him an invitation and scare him.
* CatsAreSnarkers: She's a werecat and likes to snark.
* CuteBruiser: She's a small, cute girl, and is perfectly capable of going toe to toe with a sea monster.
* DaddysGirl: Olaf dotes on her and would do everything to please her, and she clearly has a lot of affection for him as well. The fact she's adopted is a non-issue.
* HairTriggerTemper: She's apparently been sent to a therapist because she's been attacking werewolves three times her size for very minor slights.
* HappilyAdopted: She loves her adopted werewolf family and they love her back.
* LittleMissBadass: She's a teenager, but sees no danger in threatening Eryk with a knife and fights off a giant sea monster to save him later.
* MayflyDecemberRomance: Eryk lived long enough for WhoWantsToLiveForever to set in, while Szelma is a teenage werecat. The issue of Szelma aging is never touched upon - it could be that werecreatures are longer-lived than humans.
* MeetCute: She bumps into Eryk in a bar and, after a few fumbles and a giant sea serpent, they hit it off.
* OddCouple: She's a cheerful, trollish werecat girl, he's an old, melancholic vampire. They get along great.
* OneHeadTaller: She's exactly one head shorter than Eryk.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Nobody calls her Brygida.
* OurWerebeastsAreDifferent: She's a werecat, meaning she can turn into a cat, has elfish ears and doesn't care for conservation of mass.
* PointyEars: According to artwork in Toadies, she has pointy ears.
* RedOniBlueOni: Red to Eryk's blue.
* SmellsSexy: Her smell is attractive to werewolves, which has caused some issues in the past.
* Troll: She likes to prank people.
--------------

!!Bjorn

An Alliance werewolf and Dora's self-appointed guardian whenever werewolf issues are tackled. He's been a member of Olaf's original pack and its slaughter has left him gruesomly scarred, which he's very conscious about.

* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Part of the reason behind his loyalty to Dora is that she's one of few people outside of his original pack's survivors to see beyond his scars.
* BodyguardingABadass: He bodyguards Dora, who's shown time and again that she can hold her own very well in a fight. She's no OneManArmy, though, so it's nice to have someone to watch her back.
* BoxingLessonsForSuperman: Like most Norwegian werewolves, he's an army veteran, making him even more deadly.
* CoveredWithScars: The attackers on his pack tortured him and poisoned with silver, leaving his entire body covered in scars.
* ElitesAreMoreGlamorous: He wasn't just in the army - he was in the special forces.
* FreakinessShame: He's ashamed of his facial scars and because of them, doesn't believe anyone would fall in love with him.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: He thinks of himself as broken and all-but-useless to his pack, and initially doesn't believe that Alina would be interested in him as a person rather than as an injured animal.
* HiddenDepths: A big, burly Viking with passion for classical music and cooking.
* InterspeciesRomance: With Alina, a human.
* LoveAtFirstSight: He falls head over heels for Alina after seeing her once - though he does accompany her for a few hours then as she treats werewolves without batting an eye.
* MugglesDoItBetter: Prefers to stay in his human form and use firearms rather than turning into a wolf.
* MyGreatestFailure: He's been at the pack house when it was attacked, and failed to stop the enemy. He considers it a personal failure.
* RealMenCook: He's a fantastic cook, and makes Alina meals when staying at her house.
* RealMenWearPink: He likes cookie-cutter romantic comedies.
* ScarsAreForever: His face was scarred beyond recognition during the attack on the original pack, and even with his augmented healing, nobody hopes for the scars to ever go away.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Sensitive Guy to Varg's Manly Man.
* TheQuietOne: He's certainly not given to long-winded speeches.
* UndyingLoyalty: He's absolutely loyal to his pack and to dora.
---------

!!Varg
Another of Olaf's Norwegian werewolves, and a pack executioner. He's one of the few people not to get caught up in HeroWorship of Dora, so he finds it quite annoying when his munin - wolf spirit - decides that her munin would be a great partner.

* BoxingLessonsForSuperman: Like Bjorn, he's a veteran of Norwegian army.
* CelibateHero: He prefers his PornStash to women.
* DrivenToMadness: He's almost driven insane by silver poisoning and being locked up in his wolf form for too long.
* BadassInDistress: He's kidnapped by the end of Exorcisms of Dora Wilk and large part of Dora's motivation in No Innocents is rescuing him from Bruno.
* DeadpanSnarker: Likes to keep his distance and snark at people.
* DistressedDude: In No Innocents At War, he's kidnapped and has to be rescued by Dora and co.
* KnightInSourArmor: He's not a bad man, but the circumstances have made him jaded.
* NakedOnRevival: Werewolves not having MagicPants, he ends up naked when Faoiliarna and White Wolf return him to his human form. He's not very moved by this and almost gets Dora to borrow him her pants before Witkacy steps in.
* PermaStubble: He's described as having a perpetual few days' stubble
* PornStash: Has a huge collection of digital porn that Dora loves mocking him about. He's hardly apologetic about it.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Many Man to Bjorn's Sensitive Guy.
* ServileSnarker: He obeys Dora from respect to Faoiliarna, but it's clear there's little respect going with it.
* SheIsNotMyGirlfriend: He insists to Faoiliarna that him and Dora aren't going to get together.
* SilentSnarker: When trapped in his wolf form, giving Dora hope that he can be saved.
* StupidSexyFlanders: Despite insisting there's nothing between him and Dora, he finds himself attracted. Neither are happy, and both manage to untangle themselves from the red string before the story's over.
* UndyingLoyalty: Despite his snarkiness and dislike of Dora, he's nevertheless extremely loyal and willing to break the pack law for her.
* UST: Thanks to their munins, they have a lot of this with Dora.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Dora, once they figure out their differences. Dora is outright relieved when he starts snarking at her.
--------

!!"Grizzly" Grucha
A werewolf owning a travelling gladiator arena of shifters, who's in cahoots with Bruno. Dora suspects him of keeping Varg when the latter's kidnapped, and while she doesn't find her wolf, she does undercover what can most accurately be describes as illegal shifter fights, with most participants being virtual slaves.

* DirtyCoward: He's cocky and threatening when his prisoners are in cages, but once he's at a disadvantage, he leaves his men to fight for him and tries to run away.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Inverted; what makes him especially scary is that he has none whatsoever.
* FixingTheGame: He deliberately drugs some of the participants and puts wehrwolf collars on others so that his rich backers will have the victory they want to happen.
* ForcedPrizeFight: Most of his fighters are prisoners and slaves brought to the edge of loup.
* Ghostapo: He uses collars invented by SS - the so-called SS Wehrwolf collars - to force the werewolves in his possession to fight.
* GladiatorGames: He organizes those.
* GoryDiscretionShot: His victims practically lynch him. Dora leaves before she can see it happen fully.
* KarmicDeath: He's killed by being forced to fight against his chief bodyguard, a weregorilla, while his victims are filling the spectator seats, screaming at him what he's been screaming at them.
* KickTheSonOfABitch: His death is gruesome and, frankly, terrifying, but given what Dora and Olaf's pack discover in the compound, they're justified in it.
* LargeHam: He likes to ham it up when acting as fights announcer.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: He likes to pick those places as his arena locations - in the book, he organizes the fights in Bad Town and Blackville.
* RedHerring: Dora gets a tip that he's holding Varg among his prisoners for Bruno, and large chunk of the final novel is devoted to dismantling the whole arena to get Varg out. Once the compound's raided, though, it turns out that Varg has never been there at all.
* ShameIfSomethingHappened: He holds hostage a daughter of one weretiger and a wife of the other to force the two to fight.
* VillainExitStageLeft: Attempts this by setting up a massive flashbang and disappearing into the night. Subverted when Ion, one of his victims, tracks him down and drags him back to the compound.
* WouldHurtAChild: He's drowned Ion's daughter to force the weretiger to fight in his arena.
---------

!!Borys
Bruno's older brother, who decided not to participate in contest for alpha position and instead moved out of town, starting his own pack of misfits and loners. When it turns out his brother's gone completely off the rails, Dora comes to him to persuade him to take the position of alpha again.

* AlliterativeFamily: Siblings Bruno and Borys.
* BeardOfBarbarism: Has a huge beard and lives in the middle of the forest.
* CainAndAbel: Abel to Bruno's Cain. Oddly enough, he ends up being the killer, but he's certainly an improvement over his brother.
* ChekhovsGunman: When Dora comes to him the first time, he refuses to intervene. When she calls again after busting Grizzly's arena, he decides he'll be NeutralNoLonger.
* GoodIsNotNice: He's on Dora's side, but has to be persuaded and even when working with her, he's far from being a nice guy and doesn't regret leaving things to be ruled over by Bruno.
* HappilyMarried: To a fellow werewolf, Ksenia. He lets her keep him under his heel to some extent, and listens to her advice.
* HenpeckedHusband: Turns into one whenever he's around Ksenia. He seems to like it.
* HiddenElfVillage: He gets his pack to live in the middle of enchanted marshlands. Dora calls them werewolf survivalists.
* Jerkass: He finds Dora crying funny and mocks her for acting overly feminine. Some things run in the family, it seems.
* MagneticHero: Even when he tried to live alone, he still attracted a pack to be an alpha for.
* ManlyFacialHair: He has a lumberjack-style beard and is an asskicking werewolf.
* NeutralityBacklash: His negligence lets Bruno rule over everyone like a despot, and other characters don't let Borys forget about it.
* NeutralNoLonger: Upon hearing what kind of mess Bruno endorsed, he immediately packs his things and comes to Toruń to straighten things out.
* SiblingMurder: He kills Bruno to take back his pack.
* RightfulKingReturns: Other werewolves see him as this, as he's the older sibling and should've inherited the pack.

!!Johann Faust
The Fist of the Hand, European organization of werewolves, Johann is their executioner, keeping watch on other werewolves and intervening when pack law is being broken. Bruno calls him to punish Dora for Varg entering his grounds, but Johann determines that Varg isn't at fault - and remains to investigate Bruno's trangressions.

* BadassBureaucrat: While a formidable fighter, Johann's true strength lies in his ability to work with the law, bend it and coerce various politicians to work along with Hand's agenda.
* ByTheBookCop: A good version - he instantly accepts Dora's status without bending the rules to outlaw her, and switches sides to Dora's when he realizes Bruno's trying to play him.
* HeelFaceTurn: He first arrives to investigate Dora and make her life harder, but switches sides when he realizes Bruno's using him.
* InspectorJavert: Subverted; he goes after Dora at first, but joins her when he realizes her innocence.
* JudgeJuryAndExecutioner: He has Hand's full authority to judge and executre any werewolf to fall out of line.
* LoopholeAbuse: His job mostly involves stopping this from happenning, but he's not above bending the letter of the law if he believes it will preserve the spirit of it.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: He likes to show himself as amicable, nice dude who's only there to look over the legal issues. He's the Hand's executioner, though, and fiercely intelligent.
* OneRiotOneRanger: The Hand decides that their Fist is the only person necessary to sort out Bruno/Dora conflict. As a matter of fact, it appears he's Hand's only Fist, meaning he's One Ranger for All Riots.
* PerpetualSmiler: He smiles a whole lot as part of his ObfuscatingStupidity.
* ShameIfSomethingHappened: He not-so-delicately suggests the possibility of alerting the powerful Irish elves to oppression of their kinsmen if the Council continues to insist that Bruno was right in his conflict with Dora.
* TranquilFury: The only clue that he's absolutely boiling with fury is the tension in his body and the fact that the smile is gone.
