Rothbart also [[spoiler:rues the day he became a sorcerer and takes the first chance to save his soul by losing a non-magical battle (and later he is eternally grateful to Siegfried); Gottwald, however, uses his spells to the last and rejects the chance of battle offered by Rothbart, getting killed on the run by a random soldier and damning himself forever]].
