[[folder:Vixy Reinard]]
[[quoteright:80:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/VixyReinardMcCloud_7224.jpg]]
Fox's mother from [[ComicStrip/StarFox the comic]], who was killed in a car bomb when Fox was little. Her killer was Andross, who had fallen in love with Vixy and intended to kill her lover, but Vixy was killed by mistake.
----
* AnimalThemeNaming: Her first name "Vixy" alludes to "vixen", which is a term for a female fox. Also SpeciesSurname, see below.
* CanonForeigner: Vixy has made no appearance, nor received any mention any of the games. That said, Fox ''is'' an orphan, meaning that he obviously had a mother at some point, and her character is one that can easily fit in continuity.
* DeathByAdaptation: Sort of, but according to an untranslated interview from Imamura (one of the series' creators), Fox's mother is still alive somewhere in Papetoon in the games (it's unknown if she's Vixy or someone else altogether though). She and Fox are on bad terms though.
* DeathByOriginStory: She was already dead years before the events of the comic.
* ExternalCombustion: She was killed by a car bomb.
* HartmanHips: Given that Fara is supposed to be a near dead-on match to Vixy in terms of her physical appearance, Vixy almost definitely fit this trope when she was alive.
* MissingMom: She's dead in the comics and simply unmentioned everywhere else.
* MurderByMistake: Andross planted a car bomb [[MurderTheHypotenuse intended for Fox's father]]. Unfortunately, Vixy used his car to get to work on that day, and she was killed when it automatically went off.
* PosthumousCharacter: Died years ago [[MurderByMistake accidentally]] as Andross was trying to [[MurderTheHypotenuse kill Fox Senior]].
* PunnyName: Vixy's name comes from "Vixen", which is the correct term for a female fox. Her last name comes from the "Reynard Cycle", a medieval French book about the adventures of a clever fox named Reynard (fr: Renart). The book was so popular in the MiddleAges that it gave its name to the animal ("Renard" is French for fox). In-universe, going with the concurring theme of being named after one's species, it may provide a reason for why Fox is [[ADogNamedDog called Fox]] in the SNES continuity.
* SpeciesSurname: Her last name "Reinard" is close to "renard", the French word for fox.

[[folder:Herbert (II)]]
[[quoteright:271:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/herbert_star_fox.jpg]]

An android pig built by Andross to act as his personal databank and power source for his headquarters at Venom. Herbert eventually gets destroyed by Peppy and Slippy, but Andross manages to replace him with Herbert II in subsequent chapters.
----
* CanonForeigner: There's no indication that Herbert exists in the original ''Star Fox'' game. It is possible, however, that the character of Pigma Dengar was inspired by it.
* ChekhovsGunman: The first Herbert, at least. It's technically introduced in the first chapter, but his role and importance in Andross's operations only becomes clear a few chapters later.
* CutTheJuice: After discovering that Herbert is a battery, Peppy blasts him to smithereens, removing Andross's power supply during his duel with Fox.
* TheDragon: Herberts I and II both act as Andross's personal assistants and follow him wherever he goes. They're also essential for Andross's operations, so it makes sense for them to always accompany him.
* PigMan: Well, Pig Bot.
* RobotBuddy: Both Herberts are this to Andross.
* ReplacementGoldfish: Hinted to be one for Andross's foster parents, who were also android pigs, albeit far more "humanoid" looking than Herbert.

[[folder:Captain Shears]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Captain_Shears_collage_9382.jpg]]

A [[TheMole rogue]] [[RedShirtArmy Corneria Army]] officer who appears only in the {{Canon}}ical {{Manga}} ''Manga/FarewellBelovedFalco''. He is secretly working on Titania to revive Andross.
----

* TheHeavy: [[spoiler:Andross may be the Big Bad and Final Boss, but Shears is the one driving the plot.]]
* LastNameBasis: Much like Pepper, we never find out his given name, considering he's military, who are this trope.
* TheMole: Loyal to [[TheBigBad Andross]].
* ShoutOut: Shears closely resembles General Pepper's appearance from ''VideoGame/StarFox2''. Shears's name, as with Pepper's, is a also a reference to ''[[Music/TheBeatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts' Club Band]]''.
* VillainousBreakdown: As soon as it becomes apparent that Fox or Katt are going to stumble on [[spoiler:his attempts at cloning Andross]], he loses it, becoming [[AxCrazy rapier-crazy]] and hunting Fox down like a lunatic.

Katt's LoveInterest in ''Manga/FarewellBelovedFalco'', and one of the members of FREE AS A BIRD. Though his name was not given in the {{Manga}}, his name is [[WordOfDante supposedly]] Cool.
----
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Katt and he were seemingly going to abandon outlaw lifestyle and start over together, at the suggestion of Falco... until Katt returned in ''[[VideoGame/StarFoxCommand Command]]'' and Cool was nowhere to be seen.
* FlatCharacter: Cool is Katt's new boyfriend... ''aaaaand'' [[SatelliteLoveInterest that's it]].
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: Cool is the blue to Katt's pink.
* RomanticRunnerUp: Katt seems to genuinely like him and does imply she has romantic feelings towards him. However, it seems she's gone right back to falling for Falco.

One of the FREE AS A BIRD members introduced in ''Manga/FarewellBelovedFalco''. The name "Bowsor" comes from the back of his jacket. Despite his name, he does not actually resemble [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Bowser]], though he ''is'' reptilian.
----
