The deities and mythological characters of the vikings which are playable in ''SMITE''. The Myth/NorseMythology page deals with and can provide beneficent information about their real world counterparts.
----
* GrimUpNorth: Plenty of the Norse characters have a snowy backgorund in their splash art, which indicates hailing from a northern climate. Though the vikings did inhabit Norway and Scandinavia, they also travelled to alot of southern places, including the Mediterranean. Then there's the fact that in Norse mythology, the WorldTree Yggdrasil is home to nine realms with different climates.
* HornyVikings: Toyed with. Some character are more accurate to the source material, while others play the barbarian viking stereotype straight.
* NorseByNorsewest: Played with. While some are depicted as stereotypically blonde and blue-eyed, there are also brunettes and redheads.
* ProudWarriorRaceGuy: They are who the vikings worshipped, so this is expected.

The All-Father, King of the Gods of Asgard and the father of Thor, Odin and his raven lieutenants are always on the search for more wisdom, which has led him to do things like hang from Yggdrasil, the World Tree, for weeks with no food, and even trade his left eye for a sip of the waters of knowledge. On the field of battle, he wields his mighty spear Gungnir and runic magic to crush his enemies and fight for Asgard and the Nine Realms.\
\
Odin is a Warrior god with decent survivability and high burst damage through his abilities.

* His passive, ''Path to Valhalla'', grants him 10% movement speed and power for ten seconds whenever a god dies, stacking up to five times.
* Odin's first ability, ''Lunge'', has him leap at a target area, dealing damage to all enemies within. Compared to other leaps, Lunge is slow to execute but deals heavy damage in a large area.
* His second ability, ''Raven Shout'', summons a flock of ravens to form a shield around Odin. At the end of its four-second duration the shield explodes, dealing damage to nearby enemies based on how much health the shield had upon detonation. If Odin uses ''Lunge'' while a shield is active, the shield will automatically explode on landing and the blast will deal increased damage.
* Using his third ability, ''Gungnir's Might'', Odin charges Gungnir with Runic Magic, gaining knockback immunity. On cast, Odin will release a burst of energy that damages and slows enemies around him as he empowers Gungnir with a rune, and he will release another burst after a short duration, changing it to a second rune. At any point, Odin can throw Gungnir forward, damaging enemies and stopping on the first god hit. If Odin releases Gungnir when its empowered with the first rune, Odin and nearby allies will gain an Attack Speed buff. If its empowered with the other rune, the first god hit is Stunned.
* His ultimate, ''Ring of Spears'', creates an octogonal wall of ghostly spears around him, trapping any enemies caught within while Odin, his allies, and all projectiles can pass freely (Odin himself gains immunity to slows and roots while in the ring). A portion of the wall can be destroyed when hit by 5 Basic Attacks. Enemies that leave the ring through or over a wall are chased by Gungnir, taking damage and getting slowed, and enemies caught inside the ring cannot be healed. Odin also permanently gains additional attack power for each enemy god that dies inside the ring.

Odin received a number of fairly significant changes in September 2014. For his powers before this change, see this [[note]]. The old Odin was more resistant to damage but less damaging and more mana hungry. Further, leveling up his abilities gave him additional stats - additional power on ''Odin's Shout'', and additional health regeneration on ''Gungnir's Might''. Except for the last one, the bonuses were removed some months before the changes. Odin's old passive was ''Birds of Wisdom'', giving him 50% longer sight radius, even across obstacles. Instead of ''Raven Shout'', his second ability was ''Odin's Shout'', giving himself and all nearby allies increased attack speed for a brief duration. His ultimate also received significant changes - before them, the wall was impassable to allies and projectiles, and instead of debuffing the enemy, it granted Odin increased movement, protections, damage and CC immunity. He could also dismiss the ring at any time.[[/note]]

Odin's alternate skins include The Huntsman, Raven's Throne, Mountain Man, [=DaimyOdin=], Pandamonium, Omni Tech, Dread Knight, Celestial Guard, and Worlds Collide Odin.
----
* ActionDad: As expected by the Allfather.
* AnthropomorphicFood: The Hot Diggity skin makes Odin a giant hot dog with arms and legs.
* ArtEvolution: Got a more detailed character model a while after his release.
* BattleCry: ''Raven Shout'' is usually accompanied by him yelling one of three lines:
--> ''Yggdrasil mustn't fall!''
--> ''For Asgard!''
--> ''Valhalla beckons you!''
* BlackKnight: His Dread Knight skin gives Odin black armor.
* BraidsOfBarbarism: Odin has a massive beard done into three braids.
* ButtMonkey: New Gods revealed and need to showcase abilities? Odin gets put as the dummy/punching bag. It always happens.
* CloseRangeCombatant: One of the only gods that can't do anything without getting close to an enemy.
* {{Combos}}: Using ''Lunge'' while ''Raven Call'''s shield is active guarantees both hit the same area. Additionally, his ultimate combines very well with other gods' high-damage abilities that hit a large area - for example, the ultimates of Zeus, Vulcan or Cupid.
* CoolChair: He stands upon a great wooden throne during his victory animation.
* CrutchCharacter: As it stands, Odin does incredibly well in the early game thanks to the static damage on his ''Lunge''/''Raven Shout'' combo, but that same static damage, combined with the fact that Odin has to use both his damage mitigation ''and'' escape to get full damage, means that once the enemy team's CC is online his damage is effectively crippled for the sake of survivability. Unless he can get an extremely good lead extremely early, the only significance he'll have in teamfights is the anti-healing on his ultimate.
* EyepatchOfPower: Per tradition, Odin has an eyepatch covering the missing eye he traded for a sip of the waters of knowledge.
* FriendlyFireproof: His reworked ultimate is an unusual version of this, where it blocks enemies but not allies, who can still move though it freely.
* GeoEffects: His ''Wall of Spears'' ultimate creates a circle of spears around him that blocks normal movement - it can only be circumvented with abilities that teleport through or jump over it.
* GroundPound: His ''Lunge'' ability deals damage to enemies within the area Odin jumps and lands on.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: His ultimate creates a perfect targeting circle for many god's abilities...including enemy gods. It's a brave player who takes Odin when there is the likes of Zeus on the enemy team.
** Slightly better than his old ultimate, which prevented the passage of both allies and enemies, with the former now being able to move through his spears.
* HornyVikings: Odin wears a helmet with the horned style of the trope, though with ''especially'' large horns compared to other examples.
* TheJuggernaut: Pre-changes Odin received a large amount of buffs while inside his ring, making him hard to evade and harder to stop.
* MageKiller: One of the most common uses for his ultimate, since mages rely on staying a safe distance away from enemy carries and only a few of them (Scylla, Raijin, Hades, Ao Kuang) can escape the ring with a normal ability. Even more so after his rework as it now completely shuts down the healing abilities of characters like Ra and Hel.
* ManlyFacialHair: As expected by the Allfather, Odin boasts a magnificent beard.
* ManlyMan: Despite his travels for wisdom, Odin's gameplay in ''Smite'' goes for a more direct approach - summon a shield of ravens, jump-attack onto an enemy, SpinAttack to slow the survivors or outright trap and debuff them with the ring of spears.
* ReverseGrip: How he holds his spear out of combat. He goes into a more normal grip, with the spear-end facing away from him, once he is in combat.
* SadlyMythtaken: Odin's lore describes him as hoping to change his fate of being killed by Fenrir in Ragnarok. This cannot happen as YouCantFightFate is a running theme within Myth/NorseMythology (noted by the gods themselves in some stories), with Odin's demise in the expected TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt being just one of very, very many. Though one could interpret this another way: As Odin is a Norse warrior, he prefers to die trying to face against what he knows is a hopeless cause than just give in, which would be cowardly. YouCantFightFate but you can [[DefiantToTheEnd try.]]
* {{Samurai}}: The Daimyodin skin turns him into a feudal Japanese Warlord, complete with Japanese accent and some GratuitousJapanese (such as "de gozaru").
* SharkMan: The Depths Defender turns him into a half-human, half-hammerhead shark.
* ShouldersOfDoom: Was especially prominent in his old model, though his new model's silhouette doesn't display quite as blatantly.
* ShoutOut: With his [[ManlyMan manliness]], a mighty spear as his weapon, his status as the top leader of his Pantheon, and having an ultimate where he traps himself and his target within a mostly-inescapable terrain, it's clear Hi-Rez most likely based Odin's style off [[VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends Jarvan IV.]] Pity that Odin did not yell '''[[BattleCry ASGARD!!!]]''' when using his ''Ring of Spears''.
* SliceAndDiceSwordsmanship: Odin has a joke where he says "Depth perception? Hah! I stab and Gungnir finds its target. ''Always''."... yet the only time he ever uses it in a stabbing motion within gameplay when he strikes downward in a leap for his Lunge ability. Otherwise, he always swings it. Even ''after'' his model and animations were updated.
* SpectacularSpinning: Which is why he spins his spear above him twice before he sticks it into the ground to taunt you. Also why he spins his spear around once before landing to strike it into the ground for his ''Lunge'' ability.
* SpinAttack: His ''Gungnir's Might'' ability has him do an overhand swing from behind his head after doing a wide slash left from right.
** His old model did a backwards swing on ''Gungnir's Might''. Another backwards swing served as one of his basic attack animations.
* TheStoic: Odin is one of the few Gods that has very limited speech bank, due to being one of the first Gods included and has a very lacking voice update, he didn't say anything when buying things or approaching low health and his speeches were either battle cries or grunts. He didn't even say anything when beginning a battle (Though he does have a few taunts and jokes).
* SuperMode: Part of his pre-rework ''Wall of Spears'' ultimate's mechanics - in addition to stopping enemies from moving out of the ring, it also gave him bonus protections, physical power, and immunity to crowd control while he's in it. Now, it debuffs the enemy attack speed and healing instead.
* TopGod: Of the Norse gods, at least according to some written records (others seem to imply Odin didn't have such a lofty position).

[[folder:Surtr, the Fire Giant]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skinart_surtr_default.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:250:"As the gods lay dead by my hand, let all know the world is at its end!"]]
-> '''Voiced by:''' Marc Graue

The infernal guardian and ruler of Múspell, Surtr is one of the Jötunn, a race of nightmarish giants the Aesir frequently fight against. With his mighty blade, Surtr is said to inevitably come to clash with the Norse gods during their final battle, bringing ruin to the realms with his hellish might. However, the identity of Surtr has been one of frequent hardship within the world of ''Smite'', reduced to that of a nameless fire giant and frequently slain. Enraged with the abuse he faced at the hands of the divine, Surtr shed his weaker form to inflict his ultimate goal upon the gods: to bring about the Age of Monsters, and with it, Ragnarok.\

Surtr is a Warrior who unleashes his blazing might across the battlefield, making sure his enemies do not escape his infernal wrath.
* Surtr's passive, ''Obsidian Flesh'', has him drop fragments of his flesh after losing a portion of his health. Surtr can pick up these fragments by walking over them or by hitting them with ''Emberwalk'''s ring of fire to gain a temporary Protection increase and health regen. However, enemies can also pick up the fragments to deny Surtr of their benefits.
* His first ability, ''Flames Of Muspell'', has him ignite his sword, gaining Haste for a few seconds or until landing an auto attack. Landing an attack with the blazing sword will deal fixed Magic damage, light the enemy ablaze for additional Physical damage over a couple seconds, and summon a Fiery Imp to attack enemies. Successfully landing the empowered attack will grant permanent stacks that increases ''Flames of Muspell'''s Magical damage, attacking Gods and/or having the strike be a killing blow will increase the amount of stacks earned.
* His second ability, ''Giant's Grasp'', has him grab an enemy minion or a Fiery Imp (or pull out a magma rock if neither are in range) and launch it forwards, damaging and stunning enemies hit. Magma rocks will stop on the first target hit, while thrown minions and imps will pierce through enemy minions. Imps will also explode when they reach the maximum throw distance or hit an enemy god.
* His third ability, ''Emberwalk'', has Surtr send out a ring of flame around him that follows his movement for a few seconds. Enemies hit take a burst of damage and are slowed when they first touch the ring, and take continuous damage over time if they stay inside it when it's fully formed. Afterwards, the ring will contact, dealing a second burst of damage and slowing effect on the way in. Surtr also gains a movement speed increase for the duration, which is improved for each enemy hit while it's active.
* His ultimate, ''End Of Days'', has him leap into the sky after a short channel, turning into a large meteor before falling back to earth, having full movement in all directions during his descent. On the way down, meteorites will break off of Surtr's meteor, dealing damage and spawning Fiery Imps. Surtr's meteor will deal heavy damage on impact, knocking up enemies hit.

Surtr is the first god to be released in Season 10 of ''Smite'', with the season itself serving to celebrate the game's tenth anniversary.
----
* AscendedExtra: For years, Surtr was the Fire Giant, a jungle boss meant to be slain for the powerful buff he dropped. Now he has become playable character hell-bent on taking revenge against the gods who have tortured him.
* {{BFS}}: His sword is almost as tall as he is (and since he’s already a Giant, that’s saying a lot!). He can use his ''Flames Of Muspell'' ability to set it ablaze and allow it to deal magical damage.
* BraidsOfBarbarism: He has two of those in his flaming beard.
* CameBackStrong: After getting killed by the gods multiple times as the Fire Giant, Surtr awakens his true form, which is significantly more powerful than his mook counterpart.
* CrownOfHorns: He trades his old [[HornyVikings horned helmet]] for one of those when he transforms in his teaser trailer.
* DestroyerDeity: Surtr’s very purpose is to destroy the world with his flames so that a new one may arise in its place.
* DynamicEntry: His ''End Of Days'' ultimate, where he jumps high into the air and hurtles back towards the ground as a flaming rock. This is a reflection of his old entrance animation as the Fire Giant jungle boss.
* EvilSoundsDeep: Courtesy of Marc Graue.
* FlamingHair: Gets this when he transforms, and it extends to his beard as well.
* {{Gotterdammerung}}: What he is trying to bring about.
* GrievousHarmWithABody: In his ''Giant's Grasp'' ability, he can grab enemy minions or Fiery Imps to throw at his opponents.
* KillTheGod: Surtr makes it very clear that he is here to slay all gods, both as part of his prophesied role and as revenge for how they have treated him.
* MagicKnight: Unlike other Warriors, Surtr can deal Magic damage with ''Flames Of Muspell''.
* MagmaMan: Much like his old jungle boss self, Surtr has power over magma and lava. At the end of his teaser trailer, he is seen conjuring an absolutely humongous ball of volcanic liquid, much to the horror of Bellona.
* ManlyFacialHair: His beard is made of magma!
* MookMaker: His first and ultimate abilities allow him to spawn Fiery Imps that attack his enemies, and he can use his ''Giant's Grasp'' ability to grab and throw them.
* MythologyGag: In his directed taunts, he reminds Odin of how he will be swallowed by the "unbound wolf" Fenrir and asks Freya about the whereabouts of her brother Freyr (in Norse mythology, Freyr is destined to fight against and be killed by Surtr). One of his jokes is a direct reference to his past as the Fire Giant jungle boss.
--> ''"Do you expect some kind of special reward upon my death?"''
* OurGiantsAreDifferent: While he is a Jötunn like Ymir, Surtr is a Fire Giant as opposed to a Frost Giant and hails from the fiery realm of Muspelheim. He even has a direct taunt to Ymir.
--> ''"You may be the oldest, but that does not make you the wisest or the strongest."''
* PlayingWithFire: He is the [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin ''Fire'']] Giant, after all.
* PromotedToPlayable: Surtr marks the first instance in MOBA history where an OptionalBoss is turned into a fully playable and purchasable character. As a matter of fact, many of his attack animations are reused from his Fire Giant boss kit.
* {{Revenge}}: Surtr has finally had enough of being the gods' quarry and is determined to bring Ragnarok upon them.
* SuddenNameChange: Surtr's lore and kit refer to his home realm as Muspell, despite all previous instances (including Heimdallr's ultimate) using its more conventional name Muspelheim.
* TheBusCameBack: The Fiery Imps are the Fire Elementals, Jungle monsters that used to hang around the Fire Giant pit in Seasons 3 and 4. This is their first appearance in the game since their removal.
* TheManyDeathsOfYou: This happens to Surtr in his reveal cinematic, where he repeatedly dies at the hands of various gods. He is smited by Anubis, shot down by Ishtar, slashed by Amaterasu, cleaved through by Gilgamesh, and is finally being targeted by a whole team of gods when he transforms.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: He doesn't wear much to cover his chest.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: After 10 whole seasons of being killed again and again for his power, Surtr has finally snapped and assumed a terrifying new form as the harbringer of Ragnarok.

A noble and fearless war god who sacrificed his hand in order to bind the wolf Fenrir, though this did not hinder his prowess in battle. As he is also a god of justice and honor, he takes to the Battleground of the Gods to fight for righteousness and humanity.\
\
Tyr is a dual-stance Warrior god who can switch between offensive and defensive combat.

* His passive, ''Unyielding'', caps the duration of crowd control effects affecting Tyr to one second.
* His first ability, ''Fearless'', makes Tyr charge forward, damaging enemies. In Assault Stance, he attacks twice, pushing enemies in front of himself and knocking them in the air. In Guard Stance, he attacks only once, passing through enemies unimpeded and knocking away anyone hit.
* Tyr's second ability, ''Power Cleave'', makes him swing his massive sword in an arc in front of himself, dealing damage to all targets struck. In Assault Stance, any enemies that were knocked up previously are knocked back. In Guard Stance, every enemy hit (up to three) will heal Tyr.
* His third ability, ''Change Stance'', passively grants Tyr Power and Protections. Activating it allows Tyr to switch between Assault Stance (which grants a larger Power increase) or Guard Stance (which prioritizes Protections), as well as take Fearless and Power Cleave off cooldown. This ability can be used without any ranks in it, but it must be leveled at least once for Tyr to receive the passive benefits.
* His ultimate, ''Lawbringer'', makes Tyr toss his sword into the air, then perform a leaping attack at the target area, dealing damage in a wide area and slowing enemies. In Assault Stance, Tyr deals more damage on impact. In Guard Stance, enemies hit are stunned.

Tyr's alternate skins include Dark Judgment, [=PrivaTyr=], King Ar-Tyr, Sock [=PuppeTyr=], Convention 2015, Draco Knight, and Hail to the King.
----
* {{BFS}}: It's about his height and only slightly less wide than his torso.
* TheCape: He is Courage. He is Honor. He is Justice.
* {{Combos}}: In Assault Stance, his ''Power Cleave'' can knock enemies back, but only if they're launched into the air first. Guess what ''Fearless'' does in the same stance?
* TheComicallySerious: When paired up with Manny in the Sock [=PuppeTyr=] skin.
* DifficultButAwesome: One of the hardest Warriors to be played. Tyr has tremendous utility, sustain, crowd control, and mobility, but these are all encompassed in two different stances that can't all be accessible at once and his crowd control (Assault!Fearless) requires good aim; missing can turn a good opportunity into a disaster. And regardless of what his Passive says, [[LeeroyJenkins going YOLO and putting himself in the middle of the enemy team in hopes of catching one of them off guard with his crowd control]] is still going to get him beaten to death, which is a mistake committed by ''a lot'' of newbie Tyr players. It's very easy to see which ones are good and which ones are bad. But when played properly, Tyr's versatility makes him one of the deadliest and most feared warriors in the game, cleaving through enemy ranks, picking off lone stragglers easily (or bringing them to his allies to be beaten down together), and shrugging off everything thrown at him.
* FoeTossingCharge: This makes up half his kit.
* HandicappedBadass: Sacrificed his hand in order to keep Fenrir chained until Ragnarok. Still doesn't stop him from kicking all kinds of ass.
* HonorBeforeReason: His backstory mentions his willingness to let Fenrir bite his hand off wasn't rooted in a desire to trick the wolf, but because even Fenrir deserved some kind of fair treatment.
* HookHand: His Privatyr skin's right hand is replaced with a hook.
* LightningBruiser: One of the best examples with not just one but ''two'' dashes, a huge leap, a very damaging ability combo, a powerful self-heal, and free power or protections depending on which stance he's in. Received a series of nerfs in 2014, likely due to being so good at this.
* NoJustNoReaction: This is how he responds to the laugh command.
* NoSell: His passive reduces his vulnerability to many types of crowd control.
* NoSenseOfHumor: This guy outright refuses to laugh when you type in the command. Even his "jokes" are more along the lines of {{Badass Boast}}s and court talk.
** While his Privatyr skin averts this (except still refusing to laugh, he's fine with jokes though), he goes back into being this with his Sock Puppetyr skin. His sock puppet Manny goes along to say possibly funny things, while Tyr just finds them unfunny and a lot of times expresses how much he's annoyed with the puppet. Even King Ar-Tyr refused to laugh, at most just saying "I am amused."
* OneHandedZweihander: How he wields that gargantuan sword of his...not that he has much of a choice about the one-handed part.
* OnlyAFleshWound: Might say this almost verbatim after surviving a fight at low health (though his tone of voice makes it clear that it's not). His King Ar-Tyr skin, of course, references the TropeNamer. [[Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail 'Tis but a scratch!]]
* {{Pirate}}: In his [[{{Pun}} Privatyr]] alternate skin.
* ReverseGrip: Holds his sword this way in Guard Stance.
* ShouldersOfDoom: They practically reach the height of his body off his shoulders!
* ShoutOut: His ultimate has a...suspicious description.
--> ''''Tyr leaps through the air, [[VideoGame/StarCraft bringing indiscriminate justice]] upon all enemies in the target area"''
** Tyr dances like the Techno Viking during his victory animation.
** "[[http://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/smite.gamepedia.com/c/cc/Tyr_Joke_1b.ogg I cannot break the law]]: [[ComicBook/JudgeDredd I am the law.]]"
** His King Ar-Tyr skin is not just Tyr dressing up as Myth/KingArthur, he becomes the embodiment of ''Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail''.
** Tyr's Living Weapon skin, which gives him a rather visceral looking blade along with a massive claw for a right hand, bears more than a few resemblances to [[VideoGame/SoulCalibur Nightmare]].
** His "Hail to the King" costume is a deliberate homage to [[Franchise/EvilDead Ash Williams]], turning his sword into a chainsaw and attaching a sawed-off shotgun to his stump arm. The skin's voice is also quite similar to that of VideoGame/DukeNukem.
* SillinessSwitch: Tyr is one of the most straight-faced characters, refusing to laugh or joke when prompted with the corresponding emote commands. Then you switch to [[{{Pirate}} his]] [[{{Pun}} Privatyr]] [[RuleOfFunny skin]]....
** Also in effect with the Sock [=PuppeTyr=] skin.
** And with the King Ar-Tyr skin, because it basically turns him into Myth/KingArthur's hilariously silly portrayal from ''Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail''.
* SpinAttack: His ''Fearless'' ability has him spin around twice while using it in Assault Stance. ''Power Cleave'' is a backwards spin-slash in Assault Stance, or a forwards spin-slash in Guard Stance. ''Lawbringer'' has him do a forward somersault prior to impact.
* StanceSystem: His primary gimmick is to switch between Assault and Defense stances, with different moves available in each stance.
%%* SwordDrag: When in Assault Stance.
%%* TalkLikeAPirate: As Privatyr.
* TRexpy: The Tyr-Rex skin has Tyr dress up in a ''Tyrannosaurus rex'' costume.
* UnexplainedAccent: Like Athena and unlike his compatriots in the Norse pantheon, he has a noticeable Scottish accent. Though the Norse did colonize parts of Scotland which ''could'' work as an explanation.

The dwarves of Asgard are known for their avarice, mining and hammering to forge all the treasures they can. But among them, few have the greed of Fafnir. The son of Hreidmar, a dwarf who once trapped Odin, Loki, and Honir in his realm as punishment for skinning his third son, Fafnir strangled his father to take the treasure Loki had gathered in exchange for their freedom. However, wealth he had stolen was the cursed treasure of Andvarri. Both the treasure's curse and his own paranoia warped Fafnir's body and soul, until he became a cruel dragon. Though myths say he will one day meet his death at the hands of a hero such as the legendary Sigurd, that day has yet to come, and he now desires to battle the gods and steall all the wealth he can take for his hoard.

Fafnir is a Guardian god that excels at setting up a fight for his team, but can become a deadly threat on his own in a pinch.

* His passive, ''Endless Greed'', grants him four bonus gold from all minions, structures, kills, and assists. He also gains protections based on how much gold he is currently carrying, capping at 30 protections at 1,000 gold.
* His first ability, ''Cursed Strength'', has Fafnir throw his cursed hammer forward in a line, damaging anything in its way, and stopping at the first god hit. The god hit is stunned and a wave radiates outward, slowing both the target and all enemy gods near it.
* His second ability, ''Coerce'', is a buff that increases attack speed, heals him, and has him deal bonus damage to whoever the buffed ally attacks.
* His third ability, ''Underhanded Tactics'', is a leap that damages and disarms enemies when he lands, but takes longer to land the further he travels.
* His ultimate, ''Dragonic Corruption'', makes him untargetable as he succumbs to his curse, transforming into a dragon and poisoning nearby enemies as he finishes. While in his dragon form, his basic attacks change into a continuous poison breath that deals DOT but cannot proc on-hit item effects. Additionally, all of his abilities have their cooldowns reset and have added effects: ''Cursed Strength'' deals additional DOT and shreds protections, ''Coerce'' has a larger AOE to apply to multiple allies, and ''Underhanded Tactics'' can leap further, deals additional DOT, and stuns the nearest enemy hit. This form lasts for a lengthy period or until cancelled, and turning back also resets his cooldowns, but he is vulnerable during the reversion process.

Fafnir's alternate skins include Covetous, Dread-Lord, Pot O'Gold, and Griffindwarf Fafnir.
----
* BreathWeapon: His basic attacks and first ability in dragon form have him spit poisonous acid.
* {{Curse}}: He was given a cursed treasure horde by Loki-in particular a RingOfPower bestowing misfortune-and was driven insane by it, murdering his father and transforming into a dragon to guard it.
* CursedWithAwesome: Zigzagged. On one hand, dragon powers with the ComboPlatterPowers the transformation provides. On the other hand, he's cursed to be paranoid and greedy as all hell. Mostly played straight, since he was already a jerk before he was cursed.
* DeathOfAThousandCuts: In dragon form, Fafnir's basic attack becomes a damage over time poison breath, which slowly melts an enemy's health bar as it's channeled on them. ''Cursed Strength'' and ''Underhanded Tactics'' also apply DOT effects on enemies in dragon form.
* DifficultButAwesome: Fafnir is an unorthodox guardian who is tricky to learn and hard to use with two of his spells being really narrow skillshots. Use him right though and he is a terror to fight, being able to power up his team and shut down the enemy with powerful cc. His dragon form is also hard to time right, but get it down and it can easily turn the tide in a team fight.
* {{Expy}}: He is basically a combination of [[VideoGame/HeroesOfTheStorm Muradin,]] [[VideoGame/{{Dota 2}} Dragon Knight,]] [[VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends Shyvana,]] and VideoGame/{{Wario}}, both by design and in mechanics.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: Players are encouraged to be just as greedy as Fafnir himself in order to fully take advantage of his passive. The added protections incentivizes hoarding as much gold as possible, as any item purchase that brings him under 1,000/closer to 0 weakens him, and the extra gold gain encourages killing whatever you can to make that gold go up faster.
* GoldFever: He is extremely greedy and his ''Endless Greed'' passive ability grants him extra gold per kill and buffs him the more gold he has.
* {{Greed}}: His theme, which pairs well with his gameplay. He's a skinflint whose passive emphasizes collecting and hoarding gold by making him tankier the more gold he's left unspent, and upon loading into a match he declares that he's going to "take [his enemies] for all they're worth."
* HeelFaceTurn: Griffindwarf Fafnir is basically what happens if Fafnir was [[VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft a good dwarf from Azeroth]], complete with switching his Dragon form into a Griffon, an animal commonly associated with that setting's [[TheAlliance Alliance]]. His quotes ends up being not that of a greedy selfish dwarf, but instead a BoisterousBruiser trying to carry the team. Though he still has a massive ego.
* HornyVikings: He's a character from Norse mythology, his helmet has horns in the same shape as his dragon form, and his greedy nature fits the "pillage and plunder" style of Vikings.
* InTheBlood: Being greedy wasn't a trait dwarfs in Norse myth had. In fact, members of Fafnir's family are the only ones ever stated to be, making it seem like the vice runs in the family. Fafnir was so greedy he murdered his dad and was in turn murdered by his other brother's foster son. Said brother was plotting to kill the foster son to keep Fafnir's hoard all to himself. The only reason Fafnir wasn't killed by his brother was because the brother was cowardly.
* {{Irony}}: The very selfish and greedy Fafnir is a Guardian, the class meant to buff, protect and tank damage for allies.
* {{Jerkass}}: In addition to being easily jealous and greedy, Fafnir is one unpleasant dwarf.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: In dwarf form, he carries a shield about as tall as himself; he doesn't use it in his kit or animations, but he's a Guardian and thus tanky.
* OneWingedAngel: He normally fights in his dwarf form, but his ultimate transforms him into his dragon form for a short period.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: He was a dwarf prince who was transformed into a Western-style poison-spewing dragon.
* OurDwarvesAreAllTheSame: Fafnir is a Norse dwarf who wears Viking-style armor and a horned helmet and has a beard. However, due to Hi-Rez making him lore accurate, he lacks the Scottish accent and the love of alcohol associated with standard dwarves, traits that developed in pop culture long after the Norse religion stopped being practiced. His greed and warhammer, while also being traits of fantasy dwarves today, weren't traits mythological dwarfs had.
* OurGryphonsAreDifferent: His Griffindwarf skin changes his dragon form into a griffon.
* {{Patricide}}: Killed his own father (who was also greedy) because of his greed. He gets cursed instead of his father.
* PoisonousPerson: Rather than breathe fire, his dragon form spews [[PoisonIsEvil poison]] and [[PoisonIsCorrosive acid.]]
* PooledFunds: His victory animation has him take a dip in his DragonHoard and then start swimming like [[WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987 Scrooge McDuck]].
* SillinessSwitch: His "Pot O' Gold" skin transforms him from a malicious, greedy dwarf who transforms into a vicious-looking poison-spewing dragon into a lighthearted pipe-smoking {{Leprechaun}} with a stereotypical Irish accent, who transforms into a cartoonish green dragon with disproportionately tiny wings that spews colorful smoke.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: The story of how Fafnir met his end-confronted by the hero Siegfried/Sigurd and run through with the legendary sword Gram with his blood and heart consumed by his slayer to grant him various boons-is not included in his lore. It stops right after his dragon transformation which means Fafnir could possibly survive.
* StatusBuff: ''Coerce'' boosts an ally's attack speed, while healing Fafnir and allowing Fafnir to deal extra magic damage to an enemy every time the affected ally attacks them. In dragon form, the buff becomes AOE and can hit multiple allies.
* StoneWall: He's a Guardian, and is thus meant to build protections and soak damage for his team. With his passive, he gets bonus protections the more gold he has saved up. In dragon form, though, his poison is capable of wracking up decent damage over time.
* SuperMode: His dragon form has upgraded abilities from his dwarf form. In dragon form, ''Cursed Strength'' shreds protections as well as stunning the target, ''Coerce'' can buff multiple targets instead of one, and ''Underhanded Tactics'' allows him to leap further than in dwarf form and stuns the first enemy hit.
* TragicMonster: He's a greedy, kinslaying, murderous bastard of a dwarf at the best of times and a poison-spewing, possibly man-eating dragon at the worst, but that's only because Loki gave his family cursed gold out of spite at being forced to pay reparations for unknowingly murdering Fafnir's shape-shifting brother. However, this is downplayed because before the curse, he was already a {{jerkass}}.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: ZigZagged. He transforms from his dwarf form to his dragon form by casting his ultimate, though he's forced to revert to dwarf form after a short time. Fafnir's lines indicate that he can choose to transform into his dragon form by giving into his curse, but his reversion to dwarf form isn't voluntary:
-->'''Fafnir (when transforming into a dragon):''' I can't resist this curse any longer!\
'''Fafnir (when reverting to dwarf form):''' No! Why can't this strength last forever?
* {{Weredragon}}: He's a dwarf who gained the ability to transform into a dragon through sheer greed and a horde of cursed gold.

A serpent so large he encircles the entire world and bites his own tail, and is fated to kill Thor during Ragnarok, which he hopes to incite during the war between gods.\
\
Jormungandr is a bruiser style Guardian, who's meant to be regularly in the face of the enemies and send them scattering with his decent crowd control and surprisingly decent damage output.

* His passive, ''Immovable'', has two effects:
** Jormungandr has a passive immunity to Hard Displacement. When he would normally be affected by displacement, he instead receives a unique "Dazed" debuff that reduces his movement speed and increases damage taken.
** His basic attack hits in a cone in front of him and draws from an energy meter. This attack has an extremely high rate of fire that steadily gets slower as Jormungandr's energy drains. This energy will recharge after a short period not attacking. Attack Speed affects energy recharge speed. In exchange, Jormungandr cannot trigger Basic Attack item effects.
* His first ability, ''Venomous Haze'' has him fire noxious spit at an area that deals damage and creates a large Toxic Cloud which slows and deals light damage to enemies that walk through it. ''Consuming Bellow'' and ''Submerge'' can be empowered by Toxic Clouds, but using them reduces the Cloud's maximum duration.
* His second ability, ''Consuming Bellow'' has him unleash a roar that damages, slows, and trembles enemies hit after a short channel. During the channel, Jormungandr will draw power from nearby Toxic Clouds to increase the radius and damage of the roar, reaching maximum power at 3 Clouds. After an empowered roar, his energy will immediately recharge and Jormungandr will not consume energy when attacking for a few seconds.
* His third ability, ''Submerge'' has him sink into the ground, becoming invisible. While submerged, he gains increased movement speed and detects all enemies in a large area around him. Jormungandr will be revealed if he takes damage, but will remain submerged. At any point, Jormungandr can violently emerge from the earth to damage and knockup enemies on top of him. If Jormungandr is near a Toxic Cloud when emerging, he will create two Toxic Clouds in front of him.
* His ultimate, ''World Serpent'', has Jormungandr rear back and dive into the earth, becoming completely untargetable after a long channel. Jormungandr can attack three times from this state, launching himself to a target area. He will deal heavy damage and knockup enemies at the point of impact, moderate damage and knockup when launching from the depths, and moderate damage to everyone in between his entry and exit points as his body slams into the earth. Each time he submerges, he will leave behind a Toxic Cloud.
----
* AntagonisticOffspring: He very coldly tells Loki that he doesn't regret killing him as on of his directed taunts.
* AntiHero: Actually turns out to be closer to one in the in-game lore. While he appears to be a malevolent doomsday monster who seeks to kill everything, [[spoiler: the release of Cthulhu and the war against Tiamat have [[VillainHasAPoint somewhat justified]] his belief that the gods must be routinely wiped out for the world's own safety. In fact, in Odyssey: Perilous Seas he even confirms that he sealed away ''Cthulhu'' in the past to prevent the latter from taking over the world, showing that he may actually be more heroic than he seems.]]
* BeastOfTheApocalypse: His appearance heralds the beginning of Ragnarok.
* BreathWeapon: His basic attacks are him spewing a poisonous haze in a cone in front of him which does tick damage to those in front of him. The longer he channels it though, the slower the attack rate is. His Venomous Haze ability is also pretty much this, spitting out a venomous cloud to a location.
* CardCarryingVillain: He makes no effort to hide the fact that he's an omnicidal maniac who wants to kill all of the gods.
* ContinuitySnarl: While his in-game lore profile accurately states that he is a child of Loki, [[spoiler: the event storylines starting with Legend of Camelot instead portray him as a primordial being who predates the current world cycle's Norse pantheon. WordOfGod has said that both these cases are true, proposing but not confirming some possible ways in which ''SMITE'''s Jormungandr may have entered the current world cycle as Loki's son.]] For now it appears to be a case of MultipleChoicePast.
* CyberneticMythicalBeast: His Living Alloy skin is very clearly a mechanical sea serpent.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: He confirms to Merlin in the Odyssey: Perilous Seas lore that [[spoiler: he once sealed away Cthulhu himself during a previous turn of the world cycle, to prevent the Great Dreamer from taking over the then-newborn world.]]
* DraconicAbomination: Jormungandr is a colossal serpentine dragon-god powerful enough to kill other gods and large enough -- at least lore-wise -- to encircle the whole Earth, and whose awakening is said to herald the end of the world. In his reveal trailer he calls himself the apocalypse incarnate, boasts of having purged countless epochs, and states that he will not rest until creation is rendered pure. In fact, [[spoiler: the in-game lore confirms that he was able to fight and defeat Cthulhu (the poster boy for Eldritch Abominations) in the distant past!]]
* DynamicEntry: It's rarely more dynamic than a giant snake crashing up from the ground. His ''Submerge'' ability and ''The World Serpent'' ultimate ''both'' apply to previous statement.
* EvilIsBigger: He's so large that he can't be displaced by displacement abilities.
** Also helps that he happens to be the tallest god in the game by far.
* EvilLaugh: When casting his third ability he often will let out a sinister cackle.
* EvilSoundsDeep: His voice is rather deep, raspy, and demonic.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: Pretty much all of [[MechanicallyUnusualFighter his unique points]], really. He is dazed instead of displaced because how would one knock around a serpent so large as to span the world? His camera is based higher in the sky because he's a big snake standing up higher than everyone else. His auto-attacks do continuous, quick damage in a cone because it's from him continuously breathing it out, which eventually slows in attack speed as he continuously auto-attacks without pause because his lungs are running out of breath. His stealth causes tremors that can be heard by enemies that he's near, because it's a giant snake crawling in the ground.
* TheGreatSerpent: A serpent so large he encircles the entire world. In-game, he is one of the physically biggest gods. Played even more straight by the Splyce skin, which changes his appearance from a fictional sea serpent to just a giant snake.
* HeroKiller: He is destined to battle Thor and have a {{Mutual Kill}} come Ragnarok.
* {{Invisibility}}: His third ability allows him to turn invisible for a brief period, though his stealth is broken if he's damaged before he reemerges.
* KillTheGod: His voice lines make it pretty clear that he intends to kill all gods good or bad, under the pretense that "Ragnarok plays no favorites".
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Jormungandr cannot be displaced from his current position in any way. Instead, he is "dazed" if someone would try to do so on him, which slows him and makes him take 10% more damage. His height is also higher, and so is the camera which a player of him will see out of. His auto-attacks are a lot less "auto" because it's a BreathWeapon of his that runs on a reserve, which prevents him from auto-attacking when it runs out until it refreshes again. His stealth causes tremors that can be heard by nearby players.
* MegaNeko: His World Kitty skin is a giant domestic cat.
* MightyGlacier: He's actually one of the slowest gods, movement wise, but his abilities are actually fairly damaging for a guardian, and his innate tankiness means it will take a lot to put him down.
* OmnicidalManiac: He wants to kickstart Ragnarok, which would lead to the end of all things. [[spoiler: However, the in-game lore [[SubvertedTrope subverts]] it somewhat by revealing that he wants to kill all gods in order to protect humanity and the world in general.]]
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: He's a massive sea-serpent that is so large, that he encompasses the whole world. He breaths poison out to attack [[ShownTheirWork like most Norse dragons.]]
* {{Ouroboros}}: One of the originals! That being said, only the names of one of his skins (and his cutesy avatar, which actually shows him biting his tail) actually reference the concept.
* {{Overheating}}: His basic breath attack can keep shooting out until it runs out, putting it on a cooldown. He can shoot it without cooldown as long as he doesn't completely deplete his breath reserves.
* PoisonousPerson: His breath is [[PoisonIsEvil poisonous]] and three of his four abilities create toxic clouds around him.
* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: He's one of the more evil gods in ''Smite'', actively trying to bring forth Ragnarok, and his voice lines and announcer pack make it clear he fully intends to make sure all gods perish during Ragnarok.
* SeeTheInvisible: While invisible, he is capable of detecting other invisible gods thanks to his predatory vision revealing all gods in his line of sight.
* SkullForAHead: His Nidhoggr skin doesn't have any flesh on his skull.
* SillinessSwitch: His Plushie skin, which makes him a goofy stuffed animal, and his World Kitty skin, where he basically becomes [[MemeticMutation longcat]]. His Splyce skin can also qualify due to the ability to hear the bringer of Ragnarok talk like a competitive ''Smite'' player and mention watching anime and eating ice cream.
* SssssnakeTalk: One of his jokes makes use of this. Though unlike Kukulkan, his voice lines don't have much hiss to them.
* StealthyColossus: Can go invisible, is a serpent that can surround the world. To be fair, this is because he's submerging into the ground, and his nearby presence causes tremors that can be heard by enemies.
* TimeAbyss: By his own admission in Legend of Camelot, Jormungandr was born near the beginning of the world and has been responsible for maintaining its "world cycle" for countless eons.
* VoiceOfTheLegion: His voice has a rather demonic tone to it.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: In the Legend of Camelot event lore, [[spoiler: Jormungandr believes he is doing good for the world by routinely ridding it of gods. He sees gods as pests who bring destruction to the world through their fights, and actually feels a need to protect the humans who foolishly dream them up. However, he [[GenocideBackfire fails to kill Merlin during one of his culling rounds, leading the god-turned-wizard to eventually forge Excalibur out of the essence of his slain brethren and devise Jormungandr's defeat.]]]]
** This is expanded upon further in the Odyssey: Perilous Seas lore, [[spoiler: where he explains to Merlin that his god-culling is necessary in order to prevent [[EldritchAbomination Cthulhu]] and worse things from infiltrating the world.]]

A primordial Frost Giant who emerged from the melting ice of Nifilheim and Muspellheilm, and the ancestor to all ''jotun''. He was killed and sliced to pieces by Odin and his brothers, and the pieces of his body formed the realm of Midgard (aka Earth).\
\
Ymir is a Guardian god that, between his tankiness and his abilities, serves as a massive obstacle to the opposing team.

* His passive, ''Frostbite'', applies a debuff to enemies that get hit by his abilities. Affected enemies take double damage from Ymir's basic attacks and deal slightly less damage to their targets.
* His first ability, ''Ice Wall'', [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin creates a wall of ice]] at a location of Ymir's choosing, perpendicular to the direction he is facing and blocking enemy and allied movement and projectiles.
* His second ability, ''Glacial Strike'', causes a row of icy spikes to erupt from the ground in a wide line in front of him, dealing damage after a short but noticeable delay.
* His third ability, ''Frost Breath'', freezes all enemies in a cone in front of him, dealing damage and making them unable to move or act, also serving as one of the longest crowd control effects in the game.
* His ultimate, ''Shards of Ice'', roots Ymir for up to three seconds. Enemies in a large area around Ymir are slowed during the channel. When finished or cancelled early, enemies in range take heavy damage, scaling with the duration of the channel.

Ymir's alternate skins include Obsidian Shard, Digi-MIR-9000, Twitchymir, Nuclear Winter, Irezumir, Boss Twitchymir, Baron Frostchild, Cacodemon, Cacodemon X, Belly Ache, Crystal Colossus, Titan Forge, and [=C4Codemon=] Ymir.
----
* AffablyEvil: Ymir is amongst the bad guys, but he's less malicious and more [[DumbMuscle too dumb]] to be actively evil. It's also noted that if one buys his voicepack, his [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-13xI0uRHJw "Hi!"]] voice is very friendly for an "evil" character.
* AlwaysChaoticEvil: Named as such for being a Frost Giant.
* AndCallHimGeorge: One of his taunts make him refer to this trope accurately.
-->''"You mine now! Ymir will love you, and squeeze you, and call you George!"''
* AnIcePerson: He's a Frost Giant who breathes ice and generates ice from either his body or whatever he smashes at.
* BackFromTheDead: The game's reason for him being a playable character and not chopped up as the different parts of the world.
* BoringButPractical: Using ''Frost Breath'' and ''Glacial Strike'' as a combo. ''Frost Breath'' is an ability with very little delay that can only miss if the user whiffed its maximum range or the target(s) managed to move sufficiently or erratically to confuse him. ''Glacial Strike'' has a much more significant delay that is easily invalidated by landing ''Frost Breath'' first. They are both some of the strongest stuns and slows in the game respectively.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: A voiceline he has in his Nuclear Winter skin:
--> "[=HiRezKelly=] is Ymir favorite!"[[note]][=HiRezKelly=] is a former [=Hi-Rez=] employee and streamer whose most used god was Ymir and became heavily associated with him.[[/note]]
** Which is probably also an AscendedMeme and may qualify as an EasterEgg, given that in order to hear it, you not only have to actually have the Nuclear Winter skin (it's treasure chest-exclusive, thus requiring either a lot of luck or a lot of money), but you also have to kill an opposing Ymir while playing with the skin.
* CarryABigStick: Originally just a big chunk of ice, after his visual rework it's a metal club with ice clinging to it.
* ChargedAttack: His ultimate can be released early for reduced damage.
* {{Combos}}: Enemies hit by his abilities briefly take double damage from his club strikes. This pushes his damage from moderate to noticeable. He's also probably going to have to hit enemy Gods with ''Frost Breath'' first to hope to hit them with ''Glacial Strike''.
* CurseCutShort: He does this if he's killed.
-->'''Ymir''': Oh fu--!
* CrystallineCreature: His Crystal Colossus skin seems to be made of purple crystal.
* DifficultButAwesome: The rest of his kit - ''Ice Wall'' and his ultimate ''Shards of Ice'' require much more nuance to pull off. ''Ice Wall'' requires a good amount of forethought to use well - it can save, split up and trap enemies...''and'' allies. '''Shards of Ice's'' long casting time makes it rather unlikely to actually damage enemies in many cases due to them being able to jump away or even walk out of it despite its slowing effect, but its base damage and scaling is very appropriately compensated for this.
* DumbMuscle: He's not the brightest of the gods as you can tell by [[HulkSpeak his speech]].
* EdibleBludgeon: The Belly Ache skin replaces Ymir's club with a giant ice cream cone.
* EvilLaugh: The completion of ''Shards of Ice'' has him let out a satisfied chuckle after declaring [[SayingSoundEffectsOutLoud "Boom!"]].
* GeoEffects: Erects a large wall of ice from his...''[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Ice Wall]]'' ability.
* HighClassGlass: Baron Frostchild, a skin that turns Ymir into an English gentleman, wears a monocle.
* HulkSpeak: Ymir smash you like a pancake! Patch notes even have some fun sometimes by having Ymir apparently speaking about the changes for his section in his distinctive manner. No, [[DumbMuscle he doesn't go much into specifics about his changes]].
* LiterallyShatteredLives: He bursts into a bunch of icy bits when he dies.
* MightyGlacier: His spells can be rather painful towards enemy players, but speed has never been his strong suit. That and the fact that he is almost literally a mighty, walking glacier.
* NotTheIntendedUse:
** With very high damage on his abilities for a tank, an extremely long stun, and a passive that doubles the damage of his basics, Ymir can pull off some very strong ganks. Hence, Jungle Ymir.
** Before items were exclusive to magical or physical, it wasn't uncommon to have Ymir buy items associated with [=ADCs=]. His passive would double his auto attacks. Combined with critical hits, he could auto attack for 1500 every swing. This was the biggest factor in preventing cross-stat item borrowing.
* OurGiantsAreBigger: A Frost Giant specifically.
* PiecesOfGod: Ymir's body was used in the creation of Midgard.
* PlayingWithFire: The Titan Forge skin changes Ymir's ice element to its opposite, fire.
* SkullForAHead: His Cryonic Demon skin doesn't have any flesh on his skull.
* SicklyGreenGlow: His Nuclear Winter skin glows green.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Uses it in a few times, but not strictly so.
* WeirdBeard: A beard and mustache apparently made of frost.

A love and fertility goddess and queen of the Valkyries, the female soldiers who usher the honored dead to Valhalla, Freya rides into battle on a chariot pulled by cats to claim half of those fallen for her hall of Folkvagnr. She is also the goddess of magic and witches.\
\
Freya is classified as a Mage goddess, but plays much closer to an Assassin, considering her melee range and basic attack-based damage.

* Her passive, ''Brisingamen's Blessing'', simply gives her lifesteal.
* Her first ability, ''Irradiate'', is a steroid that temporarily increases the power of her basic attacks.
* Her second ability, ''Pulse'', allows Freya to temporarily use ranged basic attacks. While in this state, her basic attacks are stronger, they explode, damaging enemies in a radius, and slow enemies hit. In addition, if ''Irradiate'' is active during this period, the damage bonuses stack, but at the cost of removing the [=AOE=] and slow of ''Pulse''.
* Freya's third ability, ''Banish'', briefly lifts all enemies in the target area into the sky, making them immune to harm but unable to move or act.
* Using her ultimate, ''Valkyrie's Discretion'', Freya takes to the sky upon her Cloak of Feathers, becoming untargetable and able to fire up to four powerful area blasts.\
Freya's alternate skins include Northern Lights Freya, Valkyrie Freya, Frost Maiden Freya, Pixel Buster Freya, All For One! Freya, Get Served Freya, Ordo Aurora Freya, and Lady of the Lake Freya.
----
* AdaptationalModesty: {{Stripperiffic}} as Freya's design is, it's still quite a way removed from most classical depictions of her, where she's usually ''naked''. Interestingly she is this twice over, her redesign is still revealing but now she has a proper BreastPlate rather than essentially having two small shields covering her huge bosom.
* AndThisIsFor: Ordo Aurora Freya does this when she gets a kill streak.
-->''"This is for my people!"''\
''"And THIS is for the galaxy!"''
* BraidsOfAction: A 50/50 of the trope, having the sides of her hair bundled (not braided) from the front but leaving the rest of her hair down long.
* ChainmailBikini: Freya's default outfit is a chainmail thong and a metal sports bra, boots, bracers, and pauldrons. It covers a little more than standard, but still leaves her plenty exposed enough. Her Valkyrie skin puts on a helmet and wears a slightly bigger bra, but otherwise doesn't cover more than her standard skin. Her Pixel Buster skin is decently armored for the most part, but still leaves her cleavage and belly bare.
* CleavageWindow: Her Pixel Buster skin's armor leaves a window in her cleavage open.
* ComboPlatterPowers: One of Freya's jokes has her say "Love, fertility, gold... Is there anything I'm ''not'' the goddess of?". Wikipedia describes her associated with "love, sexuality, beauty, fertility, gold, seiðr [a type of sorcery], war, and death", in case you were wondering.
* DeathFromAbove: Her ultimate has her use wings of light to go into the air for a short duration to lob magic blasts on enemies below.
-->''"To the skies!"''
* DudeMagnet: In her Reveal trailer, a picture depicts that both Thor and Ymir want her marriage. Also, in Ratatoskr's aggrandized story about himself, she's seen kissing him, meaning that Ratatoskr probably has the hots for her.
* FashionableAsymmetry: Her default, Valkyrie, and Ordo Aurora skins' left stocking is much longer than the right one.
* GlassCannon: Few gods can hope to duel Freya, but few fold as fast and easily by a coordinated effort as she does.
* GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe: Ordo Aurora Freya is an alien resembling a beautiful, blue-skinned, scantily-clad woman.
* GuestFighter:
** She has a Crossover skin that turns her into Weiss Schnee, one of the four lead heroines of ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}''. Her Banish ability even makes use of Weiss's Semblance, creating Glyphs that lift the enemy into the air.
** She gets a second crossover skin in the Creator/{{Nickelodeon}} event; that of XJ-9 aka Jenny Wakeman from ''WesternAnimation/MyLifeAsATeenageRobot''.
* LifeDrain: Receives a considerable amount of lifesteal from her passive.
* LightEmUp: Her ''Irradiate'' and ''Pulse'' abilities are signified by her sword becoming wreathed in bright Aurora Borealis-esque colored light. Using ''Pulse'' causes her sword to shoot it. She barrages similar-looking blasts onto the battlefield below while using ''Valkyrie's Discretion''.
* MagicKnight: One of the few magical melee deities (alongside post-rework Ao Kuang). Freya can temporarily turn her attack style into ranged [=AoE=] and be played like a magical Hunter, and when ''Irradiate'' is active she deals a lot of damage with her normal close-range attacks.
* MediumAwareness: Just like you might expect her [[GamerChick videogame-themed Pixel Buster skin]] has this, referring to wards as "noob radar" and asking you to buy more pots when purchasing consumables.
* MsFanservice: She is the goddess of beauty, love, and sexuality in the Norse Pantheon, much like Aphrodite in the Greek Pantheon. And AdaptationalModesty aside, her very {{Stripperiffic}} battle gear pulls off the strong, sexy warrior look. Her Ordo Aurora skin is arguably an even bigger example, being a [[GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe Blue-Skinned Space Babe]] who displays her shoulders, legs, cleavage, and midriff.
* NavelDeepNeckline: Her Lady of the Lake skin's dress features a plunging neckline down to her belly button.
* SexyScandinavian: Freya is a Norse goddess and a beautiful, blonde, and blue-eyed MsFanservice.
* ShoutOut:
** A joke of hers.
--> ''"[[Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit I'm not naughty... I'm just rendered that way.]]"''
** Also has several to classic videogames in her Pixel Buster skin.
** Her Ordo Aurora skin is a reference to [[Franchise/StarWars Aayla Secura]], to the point where her blade becomes a retractable beam of light that almost-but-not-quite resembles a lightsaber.
* SpellBlade: Her ''Irradiate'' and ''Pulse'' abilities make her basic attacks do bonus Magical damage.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her default skin is one of the least-covered goddesses in the game and shows off her cleavage, belly, and thighs.
* TakeThat: In an unused joke line, she thinks Music/JustinBieber is Loki in disguise.
* {{Valkyries}}: Queen of them, in fact. But you already knew that.
** Is actually a case of SadlyMythtaken because while Freya indeed received half of all souls who died in battle (the other half went to Odin), she was not really associated with the Valkyries and had her own afterlife realm separate from Valhalla.
* WeaponsOfTheirTrade: Her Get Served skin is themed like a tennis player and has a tennis racket for a weapon. When ''Pulse'' is active, her ranged attacks are flavored as serves.
* WintryAuroralSky: The coloring of her abilities' effects use this as their motif. She also has a skin named "Northern Lights" and the phenomenon appears in the backgrounds of her base splash art and the splash art of her Valkyrie skin. This is inspired from the goddess having been mythologically associated with the Northern Lights.

The daughter of Loki and ruler of Helheim, the realm of the dead for those who did not fall in battle. She has two sides, Light and Dark, that she cycles between in battle.\
\
Hel is a Mage goddess who alternates between two forms, one focused on dealing damage and the other focused on supporting her team.
* Her passive, ''Stance Attunement'', offers bonuses after several seconds of staying in one stance.
* Instead of an ultimate, she has ''Switch Stances'', which switches her between Light Stance and Dark Stance with a low cooldown. Additionally, leveling up this ability gives Hel passive [=MP5=] and a stance-specific bonus, half of which is shared with nearby allies. Hel's abilities have separate cooldowns between stances.
* Light Stance:
** In Light Stance, ''Stance Attunement'' reduces enemy Power.
** In Light Stance, ''Switch Stances'' increases her and her allies' Protections.
** Her first ability in Light Stance is ''Restoration'', which fires a projectile that damages minions it passes through and stops on the first god it hits, friend or foe. Enemy gods take damage, while allied gods have their health and mana restored. After healing an ally, the projectile bounces back to Hel, healing her for the same amount.
** Her second ability in Light Stance is ''Cleanse'', which targets an area of Hel's choosing, cleansing crowd control effects for all allies within and giving them a short immunity to further ones.
** Her third ability in Light Stance, ''Inspire'', heals all nearby allied gods and minions and increases their movement and attack speed for several seconds.
* Dark Stance:
** In Dark Stance, ''Stance Attunement'' increases Hel's damage by up to 20%.
** In Dark Stance, ''Switch Stances'' increases her and her allies' Magical Power.
** Her first ability in Dark Stance is ''Decay'', which fires a projectile that explodes upon hitting an enemy, dealing damage to all affected targets.
** Her second ability in Dark Stance is ''Hinder'', which targets an area of Hel's choosing, briefly slowing all enemies within and reducing their magical protection.
** Her third ability in Dark Stance is ''Repulse'', deals damage to all nearby enemies.

Hel's alternate skins include Sugar and Spice Hel, Solstice Hel, Expelled Hel and Jingle Hel
----
* AdaptationalAttractiveness: In Norse mythology, Hel is described as having half her body alive and flesh-colored, while the other half is a blackened and rotting corpse. [=SMITE=] instead depicts her as a conventionally attractive young woman whose clothes and hair change color based on which set of powers she is currently using.
* ArtEvolution: One of many characters to receive a visual update.
* BloodKnight: Dark Hel is a wee bit too eager to rip her enemies apart. As such, she ''hates'' defensive items and berates Light Hel if she buys one.
-->'''Light Hel''': Always best to play it safe!\
'''Dark Hel''': Sell it! Sell it! ''SELL IT NOW!!''
* ClothingDamage: In Light Stance, Hel's Solstice skin wears a dress made out of green leaves which covers her belly. In Dark Stance, the leaves have yellowed and a lot of them have fallen away, leaving her belly exposed.
* CombatMedic: Even in Light Stance, her first ability deals damage and heals her at the same time.
* DaddysGirl: Light Hel seems to be this according to her direct taunt with Loki. Averted with Dark Hel, who doesn't feel sorry in killing him.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Zigzagged. Sure, she rules over the realm of the dead. However, Light Hel is one of the nicest goddesses in the game, kind of meek, even. Dark Hel, on the other hand, is far better in terms of malice and evilness than either her father or Thanatos, but she is a bit too sadistic and scary when compared to the likes of Anubis or Hades. However, Dark Hel's sadism is mostly PlayedForLaughs.
* DumbBlonde: Light Hel is blonde, overly naive, and a little dumb, which makes her easy-picking for insults by Dark Hel.
* FemmeFatalons: Dark Hel has these.
* GardenGarment: Solstice Hel wears a dress made out of leaves and vines.
* MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter: Hel is notable for being the only humanoid child of Loki by Angrboda (his sons with Sigyn seem to be normal) whereas Fenrir is a wolf and Jormungandr is a serpent. Fenrir and Jormungandr are also evil like their dad; Hel...not so much, just extremely conflicted. This trope is only played straight in ''SMITE'' due to Hel undergoing AdaptationalAttractiveness, in Norse mythology, it is instead inverted, as Hel is described there as having half her body alive while the other half is dead and corpse-like.
* NoSell: No one in ''Smite'' can make an entire team immune to crowd-control for a short duration and severely disappoint enemies like Hel can.
* PowerFloats: One of many.
* PrecisionFStrike: One of her jokes has Light Hel suggest something completely out of the blue, to which Dark Hel cusses her for it.
-->'''Light Hel''': I know; we should make cookies!\
'''Dark Hel''': Cookies? COOKIES?! WHAT THE F*CK IS WRONG WITH YOU!?
* PrettyInMink: Her Light outfit is trimmed with white fur.
* SadlyMythtaken: Norse mythology has one half of her body black/rotting while the other half is white/alive. Her first design went with the white/black distinction, but her new one drops it in favor of making her clothes dark/light instead. Her skin looks perfectly fine. Her countenance was said to be frightening; again her redesign lacks what the original didn't. She looks like a normal woman now and a quite attractive one at that. She also lacks the multiple personalities in the myths. However, the game goes with it purely for RuleOfFunny.
* SexyBacklessOutfit: Neither of the outfits worn by her Solstice skin covers her back one bit.
* ShrinkingViolet: Light Hel has a very meek voice, is kind of apologetic, and is mostly a [[NiceGuy Nice Girl]] dedicated to protecting others and baking cookies.
* SplitPersonality: Her gameplay revolves around switching between her Light and Dark sides.
** [[TalkingToThemself Her emotes reflect it as well.]] Rather humorously.
* StanceSystem: Light Stance for support and healing, Dark Stance for debuffing and damage.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Both of her Order and Chaos and Shadow Speaker skins' forms wear very little clothing. Her Solstice and Inner Demon skins also have this, but only for Dark Stance.
* TalkingToThemself: And their conversations are hilarious.
* TrashTalk: Dark Hel certainly enjoys doing it to both enemies ''and'' Light Hel.
* YinYangBomb: See above.

Sol is a Mage goddess that places heavy focus on her basic attacks, much like a Hunter.

* Her passive, ''Unstable Manifestation'', lets her generate Heat with basic attacks and abilities, which declines rapidly over time. Sol gains 1% magical power and attack speed for every 3% Heat, and at 100% Sol's basic attacks deal 50% more damage.
* Her first ability, ''Radiance'', creates a fire under her, generating a large amount of Heat and healing her based on missing health. Enemies that walk onto the fire also take damage per second.
* Her second ability, ''Stellar Burst'', makes her next basic attack create a shockwave that expands and retracts, dealing damage and slowing on the retraction.
* Her third ability, ''Disapparate'', gives her movement speed and leaves a trail of fire behind her that deals damage over time and, after a short period, explodes. At that moment, Sol cannot be damaged but cannot attack for another short period, although this can be cancelled early.
* Her ultimate, ''Supernova'', is a moveable targeter that fires eight blasts in the chosen path, dealing damage and knocking back on the initial hit and dealing reduced damage on all subsequent hits.

Sol's alternate skins include Supernova Sol, Polaris Sol, Epsolon, Meltdown Sol, and Soulless Machine Sol.
----
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of the Sun, quite literally (see FightingAShadow below).
* BarbieDollAnatomy: While Sol is completely nude, no naughty bits are ever seen.
* FightingAShadow: The playable Sol [[https://gamepedia.cursecdn.com/smite_gamepedia/5/57/Sol_Intro_3.ogg is just an unstable manifestation of her power]].
* FullFrontalAssault: She is ''literally stark naked'' apart from her body markings (which cover nothing). If she didn't have BarbieDollAnatomy, the game would have to be rated Adults Only. Obviously averted with the skins that make her an actual human.
* GodOfFire: A variation. Like Ra, Sol is designated as a solar deity. But while Ra uses sunlight, Sol uses solar fire.
* GenkiGirl: Probably beats ''Neith'' in this department, demonstrating an extremely adventurous and excitable personality.
* GodOfLight: Sol is [[ThePowerOfTheSun a solar goddess]] whose manifestation is made of stellar plasma.
* JigglePhysics: Her chest wobbles as she moves, particularly noticeable in her Machini-Mini teaser.
* MostCommonSuperpower: She has a very large bust and is [[BarbieDollAnatomy more or less naked,]] and is a powerful solar goddess who brings the heat in battle.
* NavelWindow: Her Searing Seductress skin's outfit is open in a small area around her belly button.
* {{Revenge}}: Actually toned down. Her lore mentions that Odin made her suffer, but she's so busy having fun that she seems to have forgot, having no unique kill quotes against him.
* SicklyGreenGlow: Her radiation-themed Meltdown skin glows green.
* TronLines: She has glowing yellow markings on her body.
* WhatTheHellIsThatAccent: Many gods have weird accents, but no one can even pin down a specific one for Sol. Guesses have ranged from poorly-done French to a French-Belgian mix (more accurately known as [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flemish Flemish]]) to ''Icelandic'' or something from another Nordic country.
* WreathedInFlames: Sol is basically a naked girl whose entire body is made of fire.

One of the children of Loki, Fenrir is the dreaded wolf fated to kill Odin and was bound by Tyr at the cost of his hand, though Fenrir's escape is foretold to signal the beginning of Ragnarok.\
\
Fenrir is an Assasin god who can be surprisingly supportive for his allies, particularly with his ultimate.

* His passive, ''Unbound Runes'', activates a Rune with every successful basic attack. Once he has five Runes, he will consume them on his next use of ''Unchained'', ''Brutalize'', or ''Ragnarok'' to empower it. God assists will instantly activate 3 Runes while kills will activate all of them.
* With his first ability, ''Unchained'', Fenrir leaps at a nearby area, damaging all enemies around his landing point and reducing the cooldown if an enemy God is hit. If he has full runes, all enemies hit are stunned.
* His second ability, ''Seething Howl'', lets out a howl that activates two Runes and increases Fenrir's Power, Attack Speed, and Lifesteal.
* With his third ability, ''Brutalize'', Fenrir pounces to a nearby target location and, if there's an enemy in that area, he will hit them with four powerful strikes while dealing lesser damage in an area around them. If he has full runes, the ability will gain increased Power scaling.
* With his ultimate ability, ''Ragnarok'', Fenrir grows to a massive size for a few seconds, making him immune to crowd control effects and greatly increasing his movement speed. During this duration, his next basic attack against an enemy God will be a powerful bite that will catch the target in his mouth and carry them with Fenrir until the duration ends, spitting them back. If he has full runes, he will gain bonus defensive stats while in his transformed state.

Fenrir's alternate skins include Frost Fang Fenrir, Iron Maw Fenrir, Metal Carnage Fenrir, Wreck The Halls Fenrir, Lord Slashington III Fenrir, Ragnarok Fenrir and Wolf Man Fenrir
----
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: He doesn't go {{Kaiju}}-sized for his ult, but he's still big enough to hold (aside from Jormungandr) any god he catches in his jaws like a chew toy ''and'' run without difficulty regardless of said god/snack's own size or weight.
* AwesomeButImpractical: His ultimate is this in spades. If you can manage to snatch someone with it and carry them back to your team, it spells nigh-guaranteed death for your helpless victim. However, many gods become CC immune while casting their ultimates, allowing them to simply activate them in response to Fenrir's. If this is not an option, there's also the popular relic Purification, which will allow someone to cancel Fenrir's ultimate and escape from it even ''after'' they've been grabbed.
** His Brutalize ability has also become this to a certain extent. While it has very high base damage for an ability, and hurts like hell early and mid game, it can be interrupted by almost any hard CC effect and cancelled by any jump ability; most gods have one or the other, some have both. Or worse - enemies can retreat into allied towers while Fenrir is using Brutalize them! Most of the time, competent Fenrir players would use Brutalize to just close in to at most 2 pounces, cancel it and leave the rest to his normal attacks instead of waiting until 4 pounces.
* BigEater: He eats. ''A lot''. And he likes it.
* CanisMajor: As he was in Norse mythology. He grows ''even bigger'' when his ultimate ''Ragnarok'' is active.
* CrutchCharacter: Probably going to die real fast in any teamfight considering he works by jumping on someone and then pouncing on them repeatedly which can easily cause the MOBA-equivalent of CaughtInTheBadPartOfTown - even electing to use his ultimate to pull someone in to his team gets a lot riskier. He's ''also'' infamous for doing so much damage early-on that he's been popular as a support character that supports by just having his lane slaughter the opposing laners and snowballing off of that.
* EatenAlive: Implied in his victory animation, as he coughs up the armor and weapons of the soldiers, as well as the joke in the ImAHumanitarian trope below.
* GlassCannon: Until he's fed, Fenrir is incredibly weak from a defense standpoint; if the enemy team even looks at him he'll be torn to shreds, even all the way to the endgame. His major defensive strength is that he both stacks and one of his abilities gives him a ton of lifesteal, and that a fed Fenrir can absolutely eviscerate all but the most tanky gods before they can kill him.
* HeroKiller: Stated to be the one to slay Odin. Fenrir is one of the more evil characters, so he's more than likely trying to fulfill that destiny.
* ImAHumanitarian: Fenrir's ultimate has him grow huge and eat the first enemy god he attacks, spitting them out after the time runs out. And his winning animation has him hack up the armor and weapons of some soldiers he's eaten. His joke also pokes fun on this.
-->''"I like to be petted. On the stomach. From the inside!"''
* IncredibleShrinkingMan: His death animation has him shrink to the size of a mouse, complete with his despaired howl/whimper becoming a comical squeak, before keeling over.
* JackOfAllStats: In spite of his lower tier, as pointed out in [[http://www.smitecentral.com/content/articles/page/features/the-underrated-episode-3-fenrir this article]], Fenrir is in fact very versatile for an offensive god; he has crowd control, ''two'' gap-closers (thus good mobility), and an attack steroid that also offers sustain, making him a nightmare in dueling. The only problem is a lot play him just as a skill-based Assassin, happily jumping headlong with ''Unchained'' and then hoping to kill the enemy with ''Brutalize'', sacrificing his mobility for an all-in which is more likely used for a CrutchCharacter (strong early game, insignificant late game).
* LargeHam: For the most part, Fenrir's voice is rather raspily low, even with all his sadistic personality. But when using the Ragnarok Fenrir skin, he feels like shouting a lot in ''EVERYTHING'' he speaks about.
* LifeDrain: He has an ability which provides him with some free lifesteal for its duration.
* ShoutOut:
-->''"[[Film/AustinPowers Get. In. My. Belly!!]]"''
** Their kits may be different, but Fenrir probably takes a lot of cues from [[VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends Warwick]], with both being SavageWolves with LifeDrain as their sustain method and often a pick for junglers. Not to mention that they both have an [[AnIcePerson ice-based]] alternate skin. They're also one of the more evil characters in their games.
*** When Emotes are included, Fenrir gets the [[Music/MichaelJackson Thriller]] dance, ''exactly'' Warwick's dance.
** On his selection screen, he'll sometimes put his hand in front of his muzzle and snicker in a way similar to [[WesternAnimation/WackyRaces Muttley.]]
* SkullForAHead: His Marrow Eater skin doesn't have any flesh on his skull.
* TerrestrialSeaLife: The Finrawr skin turns Fenrir into a shark that has legs and walks like a wolf.
* ThroatLight: A fire is clearly visible inside his mouth.
* VolcanicVeins: Lava apparently makes up most of his bodily fluids. In addition to forming his saliva, it's also visible on the cracked, streaking veins that run all over his body.

The shafeshifting God of Mischief and blood brother of Odin, Loki was adopted as one of the Aesir but is by birth a jotun: a frost giant. Notorious for his trickery, most infamously his role in the death of Baldr, Loki is also the father of many gods and monsters, including Hel, Fenrir, and Jormangondr. For his misdeeds, he was bound in a cave underneath a serpent who secretes toxic venom onto his face until he is fated to break free during Ragnarok.\
\
Loki is an Assassin god that can easily disrupt a fight out of nowhere and vanish away just as quickly.

* His passive, ''Behind You!'', increases the damage of his basic attacks and Flurry Strike whenever he is behind his target.
* His first ability, ''Vanish'', turns Loki invisible, moving faster, gaining damage resistance, and removing and granting immunity to slows. This lasts for up to four seconds or until he attacks, and his first attack from stealth or up to two seconds afterward will apply a bleed, dealing damage over time.
* His second ability, ''Agonizing Visions'', summons a vision of his venomous torture at a location, creating a large area that repeatedly damages and weakens foes that stand in it. If an enemy stays in the area too long, they become blinded, obscuring their vision and allowing Loki to trigger ''Behind You!'' from any direction for a few seconds.
* Loki's third ability, ''Flurry Strike'', is a barrage of slashes that target a cone in front of Loki, damaging and slowing the target hit, becoming immune to Knockup during the channel. Afterwards, Loki will unleash one final attack, which is stronger and inflicts a heavier slow than the slashes before it.
* Loki's ultimate, ''Assassinate'', teleports him to a target area. If an enemy god is within the area, Loki will slash that target, dealing damage and crippling them for a moment, making it more difficult to evade the follow-up: Regardless of whether the initial strike hit a god, Loki will then perform a heavy strike that damages and stuns enemies in front of him.

Loki's alternate skins include Ssslither Loki, Infiltrator Loki, Joki, Grim Mariachi Loki, White Death Loki, and Last Laugh Loki.
----
* ActionDad: He's the father of Fenrir, Hel, and Jormungandr as well as two other kids by his Aesir wife Sigyn. Hel's feelings about her father is unclear, but Fenrir and Jormungandr didn't look at him positively. Loki must've been a rather lousy dad.
* ActionMom: He's also the ''mom'' of Odin's horse Sleipnir ([[ItMakesSenseInContext Don't ask]]). [[https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D6YcCUjXkAAAz__.jpg This was referenced with him appearing in artwork advertising sales on Mother's Day]].
* ArtEvolution: Received a new model and artwork.
* {{Backstab}}: Granted bonus damage for performing these, and also uses it for his ultimate.
* CaptainErsatz: Many players have noted similarities between him and [[VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends Shaco]] or [[VideoGame/{{Dota 2}} Riki and Gondar]] in terms of gameplay and abilities.
* CampGay: Seems to be the gist of one of his jokes, in which he describes how he once had Thor put on a dress, resulting in him looking "absolutely fabulous!" Might reference his slender figure, as even the game's other [[FragileSpeedster fragile speedsters,]] like Apollo and Mercury, tend to still have well-defined muscles. Loki, not so much. Which is accurate as Loki in the myths was nowhere stated to be buff or have much physical strength.
* CrutchCharacter: Loki is often terrifying to new players, but to everyone else he is only annoying at worst. Loki's whole strategy relies constantly on the element of surprise which is much harder to carry out the if the enemy team is paying close attention to Loki... Which is always likely considering he is often thought of as the ''Smite'' equivalent of [[VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends Teemo]]. Even if Loki successfully makes his surprise attack he has to be sure to get away, which can be hard to outright impossible if he is surrounded by enemies. And as useful as Loki's invisibility is, It is also his only means of escape and he can still be hurt ''and'' be hit by crowd control whilst invisible. Loki is incredibly vulnerable to good AOE attacks, which quite a few gods have, and is helpless against crowd control, something that ''several'' gods in Smite have. Even after his rework, he remains this and often the only time you will see Loki in casual matches.
* DashingHispanic: In his Grim Mariachi skin.
* DeviousDaggers: As a Trickster God meant to surprise and kill other Gods in a burst while being sneaky, Loki has two knives as his main tool to do the job.
* DualWielding: Two daggers, held ice-pick style.
* FlashStep: Performs one for his ultimate.
* ForTheEvulz: Part of the reason for wanting to start the end of the world. The other one is for vengeance for what the gods did to him for killing Baldr, which he did purely for the trope.
* GlassCannon: Loki has the highest single target burst in the game. Once that's done, he has limited escape options and barely any survivability.
* GuestFighter: He has three Exclusive skins that turn him into Raphael, TheBigGuy of the Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles. Amusingly, when using the Agonizing Visions ability, instead of creating an illusion of himself, Raph instead throws a canister of TCRI mutagen onto the battlefield to achieve the same effect. The two variants of this skin include Radical Raphael, based upon [[WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles1987 the 1987 cartoon]], and Retro Raphael, a [[DeliberatelyMonochrome black-and-white]] version based on [[ComicBook/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesMirage the original Mirage comic book]].
* HotterAndSexier: His remodel, compared to the previous Loki.
* InsistentTerminology: Infiltrator Loki refers to everyone as "buzzard".
* {{Invisibility}}: Loki is one of the few who has this ability, and is favored and dreaded within pub matches for this very thing...because unlike other MOBA games, Smite provides zero invisibility detection (the ''only'' things that reveals invisible Gods is a ''Mark of the Golden Crow'' from Hou Yi and Heimdallr's ''Piercing Sight'', and even in the former's case, Hou Yi needs vision of the target to even apply it, so it cannot reveal already invisible Gods). [[SkillGateCharacters A seasoned player can still come up with ways to prevent this, though, while realizing that Loki doesn't always depend on invisibility to succeed.]]
** Ao Kuang, Nu Wa, and Serqet also have abilities that grant invisibility, but theirs are very conditional (and Ao Kuang's can be broken by him taking damage), while Loki's form of invisibility is [[SimpleYetAwesome still by far the most practical.]]
* KillSteal: With his invisibility, teleport, and extreme burst mentioned above, Loki is notorious with some players for his ability to do this, literally appearing out of nowhere at the end of a fight to finish off the enemy.
* TheKingslayer: Kills [[spoiler:[[Characters/SmiteGreekPantheon Zeus]]]] in the [[Comicbook/{{Smite}} comics]].
* NotTheIntendedUse: Loki's kit is very clearly defined as a bursty gank assassin. However, the safety of ''Vanish'', combined with ''Decoy'' being surprisingly good at clearing creep waves, makes him a shockingly effective solo laner. Just don't expect to get kills if your lane opponent is one of the tankier gods.
* PetTheDog: There was a time when Loki saved everyone in Asgard from a vengeful Skadi. Of course, probably justified in that this took place before his deadly shenanigans with Baldr, so he was still in good graces with the rest of the Asgardians.
* PumpkinPerson: The Headless Norseman skin turns Loki's head into a pumpkin.
* SchmuckBait: His ''Decoy'' ability, though only the NPC minions and towers fall for it. [[TooDumbToLive Hopefully]].
* ShoutOut:
** His Joki skin is very reminiscent of ComicBook/TheJoker.
** His leprechaun-themed Loki Charms skin is named after the famous Lucky Charms cereal.
* TricksterGod: You don't say.
* YourMom: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] with the Loki Charms skin. His "You rock" voiceline states "Your mother is proud".

A squirrel who scurries about the World Tree Yggdrassil, carrying insulting messages between two ancient rival beings: Nidhogg, the primeval dragon who resides beneath the Tree and gnaws at its roots, and Hraesvelgr, the giant eagle who lives atop it.\
\
Ratatoskr is an Assassin god who boasts both high mobility and many options for crowd control.

* His passive, ''Acorn of Yggdrasil'', grants him the exclusive item Magic Acorn that takes up one of his item slots. This acorn can be upgraded anywhere on the map through the item store, and each upgraded acorn has their own passive bonuses on top of general increases in power and movement speed. Each of these acorns is connected to one of Ratatoskr's basic abilities with the exception of the ''Evergreen Acorn'', which simply increases Ratatoskr's health and provides a large health and mana heal when hitting enemy gods with abilities.
* His first ability is ''Dart'', in which he dashes forward, damaging and slowing enemies. He will pass through all minions, but will stop when he collides with an enemy god. Additionally, the cooldown for ''Dart'' is reduced by two seconds for each enemy god hit by his other abilities. The ''Bristlebush Acorn'' increases Ratatoskr's critical hit rate, gives ''Dart'' increased damage plus the ability to deal critical hits. In addition, Ratatoskr gains lifesteal and basic attack damage for several seconds after hitting an enemy god with ''Dart''.
* His second ability, ''Flurry'', has him spin around in a flurry of attacks, damaging and reducing physical protections. The ''Thickbark Acorn'' increases Ratatoskr's protections, slightly heals him whenever he hits an enemy god with an ability, grants him a second cast of ''Flurry'', and turns the protection reduction into a protection steal.
* His third ability, ''Acorn Blast'', fires a blast of three acorns in a cone, dealing damage. Enemies are dealt more damage if they hit more than one acorn, and are stunned if hit with all three. However, every acorn after the first deals reduced damage. The ''Thistlethorn Acorn'' adds two additional acorns to ''Acorn Blast'' (but does not increase the amount of hits required to stun) and has each acorn apply a stacking debuff that increases the damage the target takes from Ratatoskr's abilities.
* For his ultimate ability, ''Through the Cosmos'', he charges briefly, then leaps from the ground onto a branch above him. He can jump to up to two new branches before having to choose a landing location, damaging and knocking up enemies in his strike zone. He is also forced to land if the ability times out or is cancelled.

Ratatoskr's alternate skins include Flurry Ratatoskr, Armored Scurrier Ratatoskr, Squirrel Squad Ratatoskr, Ragnatoskr and Festive Ratatoskr.
----
* TheAgeless: He may have been born with Yggdrasil, but no one is sure.
* BadassAdorable: Even if he may be a bit annoying, he is still quite cute to look at and is rather deadly.
* BerserkButton: All over calling him an 'errand boy'. Ratatoskr might not be raging over it, but that's pretty much his "You need to be screwed. ''Hard''." button.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Ratatoskr does so in his reveal video, hijacking the narration and instead telling an aggrandized, big fat lie about the tales of his badass feats. The narrator ended up {{Rage Quit}}ing the rest of the video as a result.
* CloudCuckoolander: A couple of his lines imply that he may not entirely be there.
--> (When purchasing an offensive item) "That's the second-biggest acorn I've ever seen!"
* ConsummateLiar: Can start entire wars and rivalries through his ability to spread misinformation. Especially loves doing this in his directed kill taunts.
* DeathByAThousandCuts: Or rather Death By A Thousand [[{{Pun}} Nuts]], with his old ''Flurry of Acorns'' ability doing a rather large chunk of damage if each acorn hit, making it deadly if he dashed through you after using it.
* FragileSpeedster: ''Dart'' lets him blitz around the battlefield, doing a surprising amount of damage, but if he gets caught without it or ''Through The Cosmos'', his inherent squishiness can get him killed.
* GuestFighter: He has a Crossover skin for, [[UnexpectedCharacter of all characters]], Momo the Flying Lemur from ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender''.
* InconsistentDub: The "-r" suffix in his name is a holdover of Old Norse orthography, and would normally be dropped or at least treated as silent. Doesn't stop all references, both in-game and by WordOfGod, from actively pronouncing it.
* {{Keet}}: Very hyperactive and eager.
--> (When purchasing an offensive item) "Uh-huh, uh-huh, let's fight, let's fight!"
** He'd give a "HAYAYAYAYAYAYA!" just for a single basic attack.
* KillerRabbit: He may look cute, but he is a trickster and loves seeing and even starting conflicts.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Ratatoskr is the only god to have his own exclusive non-consumable item, an element consistent through all of his reworks. As of his most recent rework Magic Acorn has two Tier 2 upgrades (Lively Acorn and Nettle Acorn) and four Tier 3 upgrades (Evergreen Acorn, Thickbark Acorn, Bristlebush Acorn, and Thistlethorn Acorn), and Ratatoskr's fur and acorn change color to reflect which one he's purchased. After his first rework Ratatoskr was also the only god who could not purchase Boots prior to the Boots removal, a necessary trade-off given how central Magic Acorn is to his item build.
* ShockAndAwe: ''Dash'' wreathes him in lightning, and his acorns also surge with it.
* ShoutOut: "That's the second-biggest <object> I've ever seen!" was a common sentence in the series ''Series/GetSmart'', which was homaged in the ''VideoGame/MonkeyIsland'' videogame series.
** His "Curious Critter" skin seems to be influenced by ''WesternAnimation/{{Zootopia}}'' and ''VideoGame/ConkersBadFurDay''.
* SillinessSwitch: In the same vein as Bacchus, Ratatoskr is far less of a serious god than most of the other depictions, being a hyperactive squirrel who dashes around excitedly and attacks with acorns.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Clearly thinks a lot more highly of himself than being the messenger of Yggdrassil. Although he may simply be trying to show off. Particularly telling of his status is when Mulan meets him in the Grim Omens event. Her ascended status lets her identify the other gods in the area and sense their divinity, but with Ratatoskr...
--> '''Mulan''': Is that a squirrel?
* SoreLoser: When killed.
--> "This battle is stupid!"
* TricksterGod: A different flavor from Loki, but the fact that he uses his fast talk and sly speech to instigate fights between beings that could destroy the world means he's only less malicious in that he doesn't do it specifically for the sake of causing harm.
* YourMom: His Festive skin has him claim in one of his jokes that he got YourMom to make him the ugly sweater he's wearing last night.

The son of Odin and the mightiest warrior in all of Asgard, Thor is the God of Thunder, which comes from the sound of striking a foe with his mighty hammer Mjolnir. As the champion and protector of humanity, Thor takes to the Battleground of the Gods to defend the Nine Realms from destruction.\
\
Thor used to be a Warrior god, but was later reclassified as an Assassin, fitting his ability to move great distances and deal with several enemies at once.

* His passive is ''Warrior's Madness'', increasing his power for every enemy god nearby.
* His first ability, ''Mjolnir's Attunement'', makes him throw his hammer forward, which then flies back, hitting enemies along the way. An enemy can be struck twice in a single throw, with gods taking double damage on the second hit. Additionally, at any point Thor can use the ability again to instantly teleport to Mjolnir's location.
* His second ability, ''Tectonic Rift'', has him slam the hammer into the ground, creating a rocky fissure in a line directly ahead of him. Any enemy god touched by the fissure when activated will be damaged and stunned. Additionally, the fissure itself acts as a narrow wall, blocking movement.
* Thor's third ability, ''Berserker Barrage'', is a wild spin that strikes all nearby targets twice before lashing out at enemies in front of him with a more powerful swing, dealing damage. He is immune to knockup for the duration.
* Using his ultimate, ''Anvil of Dawn'', Thor spins Mjolnir and leaps into the air, giving him a perfect view of the battlefield and letting him pick a target area of his choosing. Then, he crashes, Mjolnir-first, into the target area, stunning and damaging all enemy gods there. For a short time after he lands, Mjolnir gets supercharged with lightning to allow Thor to deal an extra burst of damage when hitting an enemy with abilities or basic attacks, with this bonus damage chaining to up to two other enemies. Lightning hits after the first deal reduced damage.

Thor's alternate skins include Righteous Hammer Thor, Iron Gamer Thor, Wrath of Valhalla Thor, Heavy Metal Thor, Blood Eagle Thor, OMG Thor (Chinese server exclusive), Barbarian Thor and Ragnarok Force X Thor.
----
* ActionDad: He has at least three biological kids, two sons and a daughter, plus a stepson in Ullr. Only the latter's mentioned in lore, probably due to being a playable character.
* CrutchCharacter: His base damage, mobility, and utility make him a terrifying thing to be gunning for you earlier in the game, but his damage won't stay that way if his enemies manage to maintain a fairly equal footing regardless.
* DefectorFromDecadence: In the comics, Thor opposes Odin's plan to subjugate humanity and instead fights to protect them.
* DynamicEntry: ''Anvil of Dawn'' is a prime example, causing Thor to fly up into the air before crashing down and possibly uttering ruining someone's day.
* HeavyMetal: An alternate skin called, appropriately enough, "Heavy Metal".
* IncrediblyConspicuousDrag: His Valkyrie Bride skin has Thor put on a bridal gown without trying to shave his facial hair.
* InNameOnly: Used to be this a bit. His title is "God of Thunder", but Thor's abilities revolve more about bashing Mjolnir at his enemies rather than generating lightning (aside from Anvil of Dawn, which was a latter addition to his kit). Still, lightning definitely surrounds Mjolnir whenever it's in action. It's kind of implied that Mjolnir is the thunder that Thor wields (like the Norse's mythological explanation for thunder was Thor's chariot riding around and lightning was Mjolnir getting tossed at some poor now-dead sucker).
* MrFanservice: Not an example normally, though his Barbarian skin gives him a more handsome face and partially shows off his ripped shoulder, chest, and legs.
* MythologyGag: His Valkyrie Bride skin is a reference to the infamous story where he had to disguise himself as Freya in order to retrieve Mjolnir from the Frost Giants.
* PrecisionGuidedBoomerang: ''Mjolnir's Attunement'' will home onto Thor on the return. Conversely, Thor can do the same to Mjolnir! At time while Mjolnir is in flight, Thor can teleport over to it.
* RougeAnglesOfSatin: Tectonic Rift's description claims it makes a fissure. A fissure is a long, narrow opening or crack - Tectonic Rift does not create a fissure, but instead makes a rocky outcrop come out of the ground.
* ShockAndAwe: After Anvil of Dawn lands to the ground, Mjolnir will be infused with lightning for six seconds, which correspondingly makes Thor do more damage whenever he causes damage to an enemy, which can then chain to another enemy. Used to be averted - the lightning infusion was a later addition to Thor's kit and beforehand, despite being a god of thunder, not a single one of his abilities made much use of it aside from having visual motifs of yellow sparks on his abilities.
* ShockwaveStomp: Tectonic Rift is just Thor smashing the ground with Mjolnir, causing the land to rise up in a wicked outcrop that blocks movement, and stuns enemies that were within the location of the outcrop rising up.
* ShouldersOfDoom: One of the few examples of shoulder pads being so impractical.
* ShoutOut: His passive is named ''[[ComicBook/TheMightyThor Warrior's Madness.]]'' His lore also takes pains to emphasize how Mighty Thor is. Also, his SpinAttack ''Berserker Barrage'' is named after [[VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom a special move]] of [[Comicbook/{{Wolverine}} someone else from that "mighty" universe.]]
* SpinAttack: Thor's ''Berserker Barrage'' ability does this over its duration, with the added bonus of being immune to knockups at the same time.
* TakeThat: One of his jokes is: "Fine armor this...Why anyone thinks four dinner plates upon my chest would offer any protection eludes me", referencing his costume from ''ComicBook/TheMightyThor''.
* ThunderHammer: {{Mjolnir}}, as to be expected.
* WolfMan: The Thunderfang skin makes him a half-human, half-wolf.
* WolverinePublicity: Thor is usually in the forefront of ''Smite''[='=]s teasers and trailers, as he's not only a starter god, but also one of the easier gods to use, and remains powerful in the competitive scene. It also helps that he (the deity) has a lot more publicity beyond ''Smite'' (mainly thanks to [[Comicbook/TheMightyThor Marvel Comics]]).

The all-seeing watchman of the Aesir, perpetually guarding the Bifrost, the rainbow bridge of Asgard, from any threats, though he is not above leaving his post when it becomes necessary, such as when a war between pantheons is brewing.\
\
Heimdallr is a Hunter god who boasts plenty of unique tools, several of which involve maintaining sight on the enemy at all times.

* His passive, ''The Vigilant'', grants him a stack of physical power whenever he gains vision of an enemy god, stacking up to five times. When a god would normally disappear from vision (including through stealth) Heimdallr instead maintains vision for a few seconds afterwards. However, Heim's critical hits deal reduced damage.
* His first ability, ''Piercing Sight'', throws his sword Hofuð into the air, revealing all enemies nearby. Firing the ability again allows it to fly to a target location, damaging enemies underneath.
* His second ability, ''The Gjallarhorn'', blows the titular horn for a brief period, damaging and slowing enemies' movement and attack speeds while also granting him bonus protections and immunity to knockups. When the duration finishes, either normally or when cancelled, Heimdallr will let out a final blast that knocks enemies away.
* Heimdallr's third ability, ''The Bifrost'', manifests a fragment of The Bifrost at a target location. Once two fragments are placed they become linked, forming a bridge that Heimdallr can use to teleport between them. No more than two fragments can be placed at any one time; placing a third automatically removes the oldest one. The ability itself has no cooldown, but the fragments have a separate cooldown for teleports that's dependent on the distance between them: the further apart the fragments are, the longer it takes for the teleport to happen, and the longer the cooldown before it can be used again. Additionally, between the fragments is a line of light that is capable of revealing any enemy that passes through it.
* His ultimate, ''Through the Realms'', has him charge forward with his axe. If he hits an enemy God, he launches them through a portal, blasting them through Muspelheim and Niflheim before returning them to a random nearby location. In addition to the damage Museplheim applies a burn to the enemy god while Niflheim applies a slowdown debuff and massive damage.
----
* ArchEnemy: AvertedTrope - despite expectations, Heimdallr only speaks of Loki rather obliquely (cursing by his horse, or saying even Loki's dagger couldn't pierce a defensive item he bought) rather than mentioning their destinies as a MutualKill.
* BlownAcrossTheRoom: First, he can send you backward from blowing the Gjallarhorn while you're close enough to him, and ''then'' he can smack you really hard with his axe and send you through a portal opening to two other realms.
* {{Combos}}: ''Through the Realms'' already does a lot of damage, '''but'''...why not leave his sword from ''Piercing Sight'' around to land on the incapacitated enemy when they return from their multi-realm trip?
* CoolHelmet: One with absolutely huge ram horns.
* GlowingEyes: Quite apparent in his card art and teaser trailer, though not so much in-game. Probably an indicator of his [[SuperSenses supernaturally sharp eyesight.]]
* HoldTheLine: He implies this with his lines while on a kill streak, declaring none shall cross the Bifrost or that he will not yield.
* ManlyMan: Heimdallr's a tad hypermasculine over the other hunters, what with him tossing around large axes so hard that they cause more damage than any other Hunters' basic attacks and hitting you so hard it sends you flying between realms.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Heimdallr is the only Hunter with a unique attack chain, making his basic attacks come out slower and stronger than other hunters (his critical strikes also only do 40% bonus damage compared to other physical characters because of this).
* MythologyGag: You know that story where Thor had to disguise himself as Freya to retrieve his hammer from the frost giants? That strategy was actually Heimdallr’s idea, and he has a direct taunt to Thor referencing the fact.
--> "I see that Mjolnir is back! I knew you could pull off that wedding dress!"
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: While Heimdallr wasn't in a position to just let Persephone [[spoiler: use Yggdrasil to depower the gods]], the results of the latter being interrupted directly led into the events of Jade Corruption and Grim Omen, including Cthulhu being released.
* NoShirtLongJacket: His The Lion and Valhalla Vice skins do wear an open longcoat, but clearly nothing underneath.
* SuperSenses: Be it from his passive, ''Piercing Sight'', or ''The Bifrost'''s tripwire, Heimdallr has many different ways of tracking you down. Justified as he is the Aesir’s watchman who uses his supernatural sight and hearing to scout for trouble in the Nine Realms.
* {{Teleportation}}: His ''The Bifrost'' ability allows him to do this.
* ThrowingYourSwordAlwaysWorks: ''Piercing Sight'', although it helps that telekinesis is used. Also applies to his basic attacks to a lesser extent.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Doesn’t wear much on his torso aside from some straps and fur shoulder pads, revealing his extensive runic tattoos.

A giantess and the goddess of winter and hunting who married into the Aesir to Njord, god of summer and the sea and father to the twin gods Freyr and Freya, in order to get revenge on Loki for murdering her father Idunn.\
\
Skadi is a Hunter goddess who is accompanied in battle by Kaldr, her pet wolf.

* Her passive, ''Kaldr, The Winter Wolf'', is focused around the management of Kaldr and his two forms, Beast and Elemental. In Elemental form Kaldr is intangible and slowly regenerates HP, while in Beast form Kaldr can attack but can also be damaged and killed (which sends him back into Elemental form). Additionally, Skadi gains a slight increase in physical power whenever Kaldr is at 0 HP.
* Her first ability, ''Piercing Cold'', has Skadi throw her ice spear in a straight line, piercing and slowing anything it passes through. Additionally, anyone affected by this ability will take double-damage from Kaldr.
* Her second ability, ''Rune of the Hunt'', commands Kaldr to either attack a target in Beast form or to return to her side in Elemental form. This ability is usable at rank 0, and ranking it improves Kaldr's performance: at rank 1 Kaldr gains a short dash, at rank 3 Kaldr's kills heal him, and at max rank Kaldr's attacks increase Skadi's movement speed.
* Her third ability, ''Permafrost'', throws down a circle of ice at a targeted location, damaging enemies on the initial hit and dealing continuous damage as they stay on. When on the ice, enemies lose control of their movement and slide across, while Skadi's own movement speed is increased.
* Her ultimate, ''Winter's Grasp'', surrounds Skadi in a snowstorm while allowing her to select a target area. Kaldr then leaps over to the targeted area, surrounding himself with a snowstorm as well. The storm roots anyone hit a single time while also dealing persistent damage, and if the target is in the radius of both auras they will take damage from both. Using ''Winter's Grasp'' instantly returns Kaldr to full health, and for the duration he cannot be damaged in Beast form.

Skadi's alternate skins include Winter's Wrath Skadi, Frostbound Skadi, and Ski Patrol Star.
----
* ActionMom: She is Freya's mother (and presumably Freyr's as well).
* AmicableExes: She and her ex-husband still get along despite not fitting together as a couple and she remains on good enough terms with her in-laws to join the battle on their side.
* AnIcePerson: The second ice user from the game. [[GlassCannon Her ice stings really hard, but she breaks easier than the other ice user, Ymir.]] Additionally, she has a penchant for [[StatusEffects hampering her enemies' ability to move]] as expected of AnIcePerson.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of winter.
* TheBeastmaster: Skadi is the first goddess of the game with a controllable beast at her command (Kaldr). And with Kaldr doing a significant portion of Skadi's own basic attack damage, he hurts!
** The [[WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra Korra]] skins turn Kaldr into Naga the polar bear-dog.
* BizarreSexualDimorphism: While the male giants are all barely-humanoid masses of hair and elemental fury, Skadi looks like a pretty blue-skinned woman and her background specifically mentions her beauty transfixing the gathered gods at her arrival to Asgard.
* DynamicEntry: You're minding your own business ''and then suddenly'' a large wolf jumps in your face while your legs are embedded in ice. That is being hit by Winter's Grasp whenever Kaldr isn't already in sight of you.
* {{Expy}}: As a ranged goddess who fights with a large pet, she bears some resemblance to [[VideoGame/HeroesOfTheStorm Rexxar,]] and, by extension, to [[VideoGame/{{Dota 2}} Lone Druid.]] Design-wise, she follows the "icy female ADC" trend that started with [[VideoGame/{{Dota 2}} Drow Ranger]] and continued with [[VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends Ashe,]] though she doesn't have the bow or hood to match.
* FamilyOfChoice: Skadi's reasoning for joining the war of the pantheons - the Asgardians are her family now and she'll support them come what may.
* FrictionlessIce: ''Permafrost's'' ice field causes an enemy god to slide in one direction uncontrollably, unless they use an ability to make them move in other direction. Not only that, but they bounce off other gods and walls, including things like Odin's ''Ring of Spears''.
* GenderBlenderName: The name Skadi is grammatically masculine. Hilarious since she's otherwise physically very female.
* GuestFighter: She has two Exclusive skins that turn her into the titular heroine of ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'', with Kaldr being replaced by Naga the Polar Bear-Dog.
* JavelinThrower: Made out of ice as well. Her basic attacks has her throw them normally while her ''Piercing Cold'' has her...throw an even more damaging one (that also pierces through enemies, temporarily slows them and makes them take double damage from Kaldr's attacks, but you get the drift)!
* MythologyGag: Killing Loki may have her say he always knows how to make her laugh - the actual story where he does so is left unsaid. [[note]]He tied his testicles to a goat's beard and [[GroinAttack started a tug-of-war contest with it]]. Wailing and HilarityEnsues.[[/note]]
* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: She's a creature of Jotunheim who genuinely cares for and loves her family-by-marriage...even if they themselves have some issues with each other and she wasn't that pleased with her old species, calling Ymir a shame to Jotunns, though she can have the benefit of the doubt considering Ymir here is DumbMuscle.
* NobleWolf: Kaldr carries himself with much more grace than Fenrir and looks much more well-kept. Skadi even opens the match by doting on him, and cuddles him in the god selection screen.
* OppositesAttract: Averted. Her marriage was to a god of summer, who she ended up divorcing because their opposing natures didn't make them well-suited for each other. Though also a bit downplayed in that while they did divorce, she and Niord had two children (Freya and Freyr) beforehand and they've stayed on amicable terms since. She also hasn't re-hardened her heart to her new family.
* RobotDog: Her Cyberwolf skin turns Kaldr into a robot wolf.
* SadlyMythtaken:
** Kaldr is definitely completely made up by Hi-Rez Studios, though with his name being the Old Norse word for "cold", there's at least a StealthPun to his creation. [[note]]The cold is always at winter's heels.[[/note]]
** Zigzagged with her being the mother of Freya and Freyr. A couple of sources do give her as their biological mother. Most, however, say that their biological mother was Njord's unnamed sister with Skadi only being their stepmother. Since BrotherSisterIncest doesn't fly in a T-rated game, the version that says Skadi was their mother was chosen.

A mighty hunter, son of the goddess Sif and stepson of Thor.\
\
Ullr is a Hunter god who, unlike other Hunters, can fight in melee as well as in range.
* Ullr's passive, ''Weapon Master'', reduces the cooldowns of all abilities in one stance whenever he uses an ability in the other.
* Instead of an ultimate, he has ''Wield Axes''/''Wield Bow'', which switches him between Melee Stance and Ranged Stance with a low cooldown. Each stance has a passive bonus that is increased when his ultimate is leveled up, with Ullr gaining the full benefits of his current stance's bonus and half benefit from that of his inactive stance. Switching between stances removes disarms, and Ullr's abilities have separate cooldowns between stances.
* Ranged Stance:
** In Ranged Stance, ''Wield Bow'' increases Ullr's Physical Power.
** His first ability in Ranged Stance is ''Bladed Arrow'', which fires an arrow that passes through all enemies in its path, dealing damage.
** His second ability in Ranged Stance is ''Expose Weakness'', is a simple steroid which increases his Attack Speed for several seconds.
** His third ability in Ranged Stance is ''Hail of Arrows'', fires a volley of arrows at a target location, dealing damage to all enemies in the small area.
* Melee Stance:
** In Melee Stance, ''Wield Axes'' increases Ullr's physical lifesteal.
** His first ability in Melee Stance is ''Thrown Axe'', which throws a slow-moving axe forward, dealing damage and stunning the first enemy hit.
** His second ability in Melee Stance, ''Invigorate'', is a simple steroid which increases his Movement Speed for several seconds.
** His third ability in Melee Stance, ''Glory Bound'', has Ullr leap to a target location, dealing damage to all enemies in the moderate area.

Ullr's alternate skins include Strider Ullr, The Survivor Ullr, Wyrm Slayer Ullr and Berserker Ullr.
----
* BadassNormal: By the standards of the game, his gameplay is essentially this, forgoing flashy elemental powers in favour of his excellent skills as a hunter and with two different types of weapons.
* BeardOfBarbarism: You can't be a glorious Viking God without a glorious Viking beard!
* BowAndSwordInAccord: Well, it's more like Bow and Axe in accord. If his arrows doesn't do the trick, he'll run up to you and chop you to pieces instead. One of his jokes make him claim he has a sword, but this does not appear at all in-game.
* {{Combos}}: Encouraged to use these by his passive.
* CrutchCharacter: Has seven abilities by level 3, four of them damaging and one of them giving bonus power that is can mess up just about any god at that point in time...but his ultimate is instead much smaller passive buffs, swapping his weapon set and removing disarm effects. Along with his abilities having fairly minimal synergy with attack speed, Ullr is far more effective early in the game than later.
* DifficultButAwesome: One of the biggest examples in Smite. His ''Thrown Axe'' ability has a long stun that sets an enemy up for him to deal a lot of burst damage, but it's a narrow, slow-moving skillshot. Not only that, but after it hits, you have to switch back into Ranged Stance, aim, and fire his other damaging abilities very quickly in order to land them before the stun ends. His ''Hail of Arrows'' ability has excellent scaling and a very long range, but it is also a small AOE with a significant delay before hitting, making it tough to aim quickly and/or against moving targets. If you can handle his skillshots and combos, though, he's very strong.
* DualWielding: In Melee Stance, two axes.
* GlorySeeker: An unusual example. He personifies this, yet is is still humble, since he sees glory in everything.
* GuestFighter: Twitch Prime players can get access to a skin turning him into none other than John Franchise/{{Rambo}}.
* InTheHood: To perfect his "Norse hunter" look. And hilariously makes him TheOneGuy when compared to the likes of [[VideoGame/{{Dota 2}} Drow Ranger,]] [[VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends Ashe,]] and [[VideoGame/HeroesOfTheStorm Sylvanas.]]
* LifeDrain: Passively gains this when using his axes.
* LightningBruiser: He is often built this way. He excels at any range, with great damage and attack speed from afar and lifesteal and combo potential up close for added survivability. Combined with the fact that he is hardly a slug on the battlefield, and in skilled hands Ullr can be an absolute monster.
* NemeanSkinning: His Berserker skin wears a bear's pelt as a cloak.
* NoSell: Ullr is pretty close to immune to disarm effects - he just has to switch weapons with his ultimate button, which has a short cooldown of one second.
* RainOfArrows: Or, rather, ''Hail of Arrows''. Fits his winter theme a bit more.
* ShoutOut:
** [[Film/TheLordOfTheRingsTheFellowshipOfTheRing "You have my sword, and you have my bow and my axe!"]] Strange when you consider that he doesn't have a sword. [[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim He also claims to shot the arrow that went into the knee of a former adventurer]].
** His Secret Order skin is one big ''Franchise/AssassinsCreed'' reference.
* SpamAttack: Well, spam stance-change - the short one-second cooldown & no mana cost of Wield Axes/Bow, and the fact that changing stances reduces the cooldowns of the opposite stance's abilities by one second encourages players do this, at least if they happened to be using his mobility abilities to get around and are still doing nothing but getting around so they might as well reduce the cooldown of those abilities. [[RuleOfFunny And because it's funny listening him say his stance changing lines constantly]].
* StanceSystem: Switches (semi-)freely between his bow for damage and wave clear, and his axes for a stun, escape, and lifesteal.
* ThrowingYourSwordAlwaysWorks: Justified for him, since they are more like hatchets than large battle axes. Of course, even for other characters that throw melee weapons, it could just be [[HandWave hand-waved]] by the fact that they're gods.
* WeaponTwirling: In the animations for his basic attacks while wielding his axes.
