!!"Player Character"
An unnamed trainer. They're the character you play as in the Stadium games. There is one male option and one female option that was introduced in Stadium 2.
----
* Expy:
** The male protagonist is based on Red from VideoGame/PokemonRedAndBlue but has brown hair in a different style. He also has a green "P" symbol on his hat that makes him similar to Ash from the anime.
** The female protagonist is based on Kris from Pokémon Stadium but has brown hair and slightly different pigtails. She also has a green "P" symbol on her hat that makes her similar to Ash from the anime.
* EyeObscuringHat: Their hats shadow out their eyes.
* GirlishPigtails: The female protagonist wears her hair in pigtails.
* KidHero: They're young trainers who are presumably around the same age as Red (eleven-or-so).

!!Joe
The Colosseum Master of Gateway Colosseum.
----
* FireIceLightning: Well, more like "Fire, Water, Lightning". His Masters Set 5 team contains two Fire-Types, two Water-Types, and two Electric-Types, with field-hitting attacks, abilities that negate attacks of the matching Type and conferring a bonus, and Protect in the event of a mismatch.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: All of his Pokémon in the Masters Sets have Protect. Makes sense, considering his strategy boils down to "use attacks that hit the entire field as often as possible".
* OlympusMons: Uses the Johto legendary beasts (Raikou, Entei, and Suicune) in his Masters Set 5 team.

!!Kruger
The Colosseum Master of Courtyard Colosseum.
----
* ActionBomb: Four out of the six Pokémon he uses in Masters Set 7 have Explosion.
* CriticalHitClass: Focuses on critical hits in Masters Set 3. To elaborate, his opening set-up involves using Fling on his Drapion (which has the Sniper Ability to power up its critical hits); the item being flung in this case is a Lansat Berry, which raises the crit rate by two when used by Fling. Pair it with a Scope Lens (increases critical hit rate) and moves with a high crit rate, and he's practically guaranteed to get a crit with every attack!
* DubNameChange: He is named "Rutger" in Japan.
* OlympusMons: One of the only trainers in the game to have a full team of them. In this case, it's his Masters Set 7 team of Latias, Zapdos, Regirock, Regice, Azelf and Heatran.

!!Marina
The Colosseum Leader of Waterfall Colosseum.

----
* DubNameChange: He is named "Mysterio" in Japan.
* FinalBoss: Of Pokémon Battle Revolution.
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: Is an illusionist and leaves battle with a vanishing trick, but sends his Pokemon out seemingly telekinetically.
* MeaningfulName: He is an illusionist.
* OlympusMons: Has the most out of any NPC in the game!
** To start, he always has one of the following in his Masters Set battles, depending on what DS game is linked to the player's save file: Cresselia (using a Rental Team), Palkia (VideoGame/PokemonDiamond, VideoGame/PokemonPlatinum or VideoGame/PokemonSoulSilver) or Dialga (VideoGame/PokemonPearl or VideoGame/PokemonHeartGold).
** His Masters Set 4 team will also contain one of the Sinnoh lake guardians: Mesprit (Rental), Uxie (Diamond, Platinum, Soulsilver) or Azelf (Pearl, Heartgold)
** His Masters Set 8 team varies massively between versions: He always has Latios and Mewtwo, and he'll also use Kyogre, Lugia and Manaphy (Diamond, Platinum, Soulsilver), or Groudon and Ho-Oh (Pearl, Heartgold). Manage to get through Masters Set 8 with a Rental Team, and he'll use both Groudon and Kyogre.
* TheRuntAtTheEnd: His Sun-based Masters Set 8 team contains Pokémon such as Dialga, Groudon, Latios, Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, and... Cherrim.
* WeatherManipulation: His Masters Set 8 strategy, but which one depends on the situation. Use a team consisting of Pokémon from Diamond, Platinum or Soulsilver, and he uses a Rain team with Kyogre, Palkia, Lugia, Latios, Mewtwo and Manaphy. Pokémon from Pearl or Heartgold face a Sun team with Groudon, Dialga, Ho-Oh and Cherrim in place of Kyogre, Palkia, Lugia and Manaphy, respectively. Use a Rental Team, and he uses a hybrid of the two, using Cresselia in place of the Sinnoh Dragons, as well as both Kyogre and Groudon. No matter what, his Pokemon will have moves and Abilities to take advantage of the weather.

----
* BoringButPractical: If her Masters Set teams are any indication, she favors for outmatching her opponents using tanky or evasive Pokémon rather than pummeling them with flashy moves.

* RaceLift: She has lighter skin in Japan.
* StoneWall: Her Masters Set 6 team consists entirely of these, along with recovery moves and items to further enhance their survivabilty.
* Troll: The best way to describe her Masters Set 2 team. It's a Pressure/Spite Stall team containing fast, frail Pokémon (plus Spiritomb and Vespiquen) that raise their Evasion stat through the roof while forcing you to rapidly burn through your PP, plus some Confusion-inducing moves thrown in for good measure.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Her Masters Set 2 team contains Pokémon that have very few attacking moves, with some of them even having none. If any of your Pokémon use Taunt, you can render them unable to use anything but Struggle.
