[[caption-width-right:200:''I'm not obsessed with clothes. I'm just an elegant man of taste.'']]

The protagonist, a "magistocrat" more concerned about his status as an eligible bachelor than his exorcism duties. The latest in a long and proud line of demon slayers, Kaz has strong magical abilities that allow him to detect demonic possession, expel demonic presences, and battle even the most formidable of demons on an even footing. For hundreds of years it's been his family's duty to protect Neo Yokio from demonic threats. Despite this, Kaz tends to treat his magical duties as a chore he'd rather put off -- it's a good thing he's got his Aunt Agatha to keep him in line, and his butler Charles to keep him even-keeled . Kaz also has a taste for expensive clothes and a tendency towards fits of dramatic melancholy, but ultimately his heart's in the right place.

----
* ActionFashionista: Kaz has a great love of clothes and prides himself on his personal fashion. If he's stuck fighting demons, he's going to make sure he looks good doing it.
* AlliterativeName: '''K'''az '''K'''aan.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: His race is never specified, and his parents have yet to appear in the series, or even be mentioned. Viewers might infer that he's bi- or multiracial, given that his Aunt Agatha, Uncle Albert, and cousin Jeffrey are all light-skinned. That being said, his Aunt Agatha's twin sister Angelique has a darker complexion than Kaz does.
* {{Angst}}: Much is made of Kaz's melodramatic reactions to the hardships of being a wealthy bachelor with magical powers - it's mostly played for laughs.
* BerserkButton: Does not take kindly to being called "neo riche".
* CharacterDevelopment: Midway through the first season, he makes a real attempt to be more responsible only for the plot to punish him for it.
* TheDandy: Kaz is highly knowledgeable about not only current trends, but also the business, history, and politics of fashion.
--> '''Kaz''': While I’m gone, write 1,000 words on the graceful geometry of cable-knit sweaters.
* TheEeyore: Kaz is prone to mood swings and philosophizing about how bleak the world can be - it's mostly his flair for dramatics.
--> '''Kaz''': Who cares what time it is when the future is an interminable abyss of wackness.
* HeroicLineage: Much to his dismay, Kaz comes from a long line of supernaturally gifted demon exterminators.
* IdleRich: Kaz would prefer to spend his time playing field hockey, shopping for suits, and improving his standing on the bachelor board - but his Aunt Agatha keeps him busy with various tasks that only a magic user can do. (There are even hints that he is such an idle and shallow man, he feels an amount of distaste in needing to work for his money.)
--> '''Aunt Agatha''': Kaz, you're not a gentleman of leisure like those other uptown buffoons. You can't just drink Americanos and watch tennis all day. You have work to do.
--> '''Kaz''': Aunt Agatha, I'm well aware of that.
* MeaninglessMeaningfulWords: Kaz likes to sound deep and thoughtful... not that there's much weight behind his words.
--> '''Kaz''': Sorry guys, but I can barely navigate the hellish vortex between breakfast and dinner, let alone the labyrinth of the field hockey field.
* RoseHairedSweetie: A RareMaleExample.
* SeriousBusiness: To him, fashion is a way of life, amd maybe more, not a casual commodity. The second episode has him obsessed with deciding if a midnight blue tuxedo is such a big deal for a black and white gala.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: Kaz is a jerk to many of his friends and generally to anyone who needs anything from him. He dislikes having to work despite his family depending on him and only begrudgingly accepts requests when forced by his aunt, complaining during the whole time and when he faces drama, he acts with so many levels of {{Wangst}} that it's hard to care or even not laugh at him.

!!Charles
!!!Voiced by: Creator/JudeLaw (English), Creator/YasuhiroMamiya (Japanese), Creator/ReneGarcia (Latin American Spanish), Antoni Lo Presti (French)
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/neo_yokio_05.png]]
[[caption-width-right:200:''Take a deep breath sir. Just as this calm pool of water sits at the center of a chaotic metropolis, you too have an inner reserve of peace and tranquility.'']]

Kaz's robotic butler, friend, confidant, and closest thing to a jet pack Neo Yokio has to offer. Charles often acts as the calm, British voice of reason for Kaz, encouraging him to think his decisions through before taking any action. Kaz purchased Charles second-hand, and he seems to have very little idea as to how mechabutlers work.

----
* CostumeEvolution: Charles upgrades to a newer, more colorful mechabutler model after [[spoiler: Helena absconds with his original chassis]] at the end of Season 1. This new look is evident in the final minutes of episode 6 and in the Christmas special "Pink Christmas."
* InstantAwesomeJustAddMecha: He's not just a butler - he's a mechabutler with flight capability and internet access.
* TheJeeves: Charles is in charge of Kaz's schedule as well as tasks like packing for trips, mending Kaz's clothes, taking calls, and transporting Kaz around the city with his rocket boots. He also reads to Kaz in the bath and accompanies him on missions.
* MiniMecha: Charles measures about seven or eight feet tall, but he looks and functions similar to a [[spoiler: [[HumongousMecha full-sized mecha]]]], complete with rocket boots.
* RobotBuddy: Charles accompanies Kaz on many of his missions. [[spoiler: Subverted in that Charles isn't actually a robot, but a mecha piloted by a small British woman]].
* RobotMaid: The male equivalent of this.
* ShoutOut: [[spoiler:Pilot Sadie]] states she works by synchronizing [[spoiler: her brainwaves with Charles' programming]], similar to how [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion EVAs and their pilots work]].
* WalkingSpoiler: [[spoiler:Sadie's existence]].
* YesMan: His role is simply to agree and praise Kaz's every action, hardly ever reprimanding him, no matter how right it would be to do so. That's not to say he doesn't try to steer Kaz in the right direction...

[[folder: Agatha Kaan]]
!!Aunt Agatha Kaan
!!!Voiced by: Creator/SusanSarandon (English), Sophie Landresse (French), Saori Terai (Japanese)
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/neo_yokio_04.png]]
[[caption-width-right:200:''You need to work to support your wretched lifestyle!'']]

Kaz's aunt - a strict, no-nonsense woman who runs the family business. Agatha tends to put business before personal commitments, often scheduling jobs for Kaz despite his protests (or prior commitments). She and Kaz have a close if somewhat contentious relationship, with Agatha acting as Kaz's manager, motivator, and something of a mother figure. It's assumed that as a magistocrat she has powers similar to Kaz and Jeffrey, but as of yet she has not displayed them.

----
* AlliterativeName: Not her actual name, but she's almost always referred to as '''A'''unt '''A'''gatha.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: To Kaz, who is such an IdleRich, she has to ensure he understands what needs to be done for the family to keep their money and status. The money and status he so adores, but loathes having to work for it.
* ConspicuousTrenchcoat: Wears a full-length khaki trench coat belted at the waist, along with [[CoolShades dark sunglasses]] and a scarf no matter the weather or occasion.
* CoolShades: Owns a pair and [[SunglassesAtNight is never seen without 'em]].
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Lavender hair, purple eyes.
* HiddenDepths:
** She doesn't care for the status of being a magistocrat, only for the money. She has many times pointed out that because the Kaans are the very definition of NouveauRiche, the rest of high society doesn't really accept them.
---> '''Agatha''': Did you really think it would work out with an East Side girl?
---> '''Kaz''': Well, why wouldn't it?
---> '''Agatha''': Because however many times we save the city, however elegant we become, in their eyes, we will always be neo riche, just a bunch of Rat Catchers.
---> '''Kaz''': Don't say that, Aunt Agatha.
---> '''Agatha''': Oh, grow up. You're old enough to see the world as it really is.
** She greatly values her family, even if her way of expressing it can be gruff and indirect. She cares for Kaz enough to help him out every now and again, and her attempts to teach him responsibility through work are just her way of trying to prepare him for the harsh realities of life as a magistocrat. When push comes to shove, she's willing to [[spoiler: go toe to toe with the Remembrancer (up to and including chasing the man all the way to Jersey in a helicopter)]] to keep Kaz out of serious trouble. She also expressed distress at the fact that her nephew, Jeffrey, wasn't willing to make an appearance at his own father's funeral. It's likely that she viewed this as a betrayal of the family, seeing as she openly called Jeffrey an ingrate at the funeral and was totally unfazed by the prospect that he would be out on the streets if she sold the house in the Hamptons.
* MyBelovedSmother: Fills this role for Kaz.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: She only cares about being paid and is shown to be largely distant to many other issues, even social events, as she acknowledges her status as NouveauRiche will forever stop other aristocrats from seeing her as one of them. PlayedForLaughs in some instances, like when she tells Kaz she's rented out his apartment to a family of German tourists during Grand Prix weekend and fails to see why he's so upset.
* PetTheDog: In "O, The Helenists", she acknowledges how hard Kaz worked on his latest assignments and sympathizes with his pain over losing a spot on the bachelor list.
* SkewedPriorities: She only does jobs to earn money, and gives Kaz demon-slaying tasks, and doesn't care about what he wants or thinks, as long as she gets paid. One example, In "Pink Christmas", when Kaz learned from Aunt Angelique's letter that the Kan family are part-demon, she dismisses him, due to her distrust on her sister, instead urges to go to Archangelo's Christmas show, as his rapper. All it matters to her is Kaz getting the job done. ''Period''.
* SunglassesAtNight: Agatha always seems to have a pair of sunglasses on hand. She wears them to restaurants, to jobs, to the salon, and every other time she appears on screen.

[[folder: Lexy & Gottlieb]]
!!Lexy and Gottlieb
!!!Voiced by: [[Creator/DesusAndMero The Kid Mero]] (Lexy), [[Creator/DesusAndMero Desus Nice]] (Gottlieb)
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/neo_yokio_03.png]]
[[caption-width-right:200:''Can you feel the synergy?''[[note]]Left: Lexy, Right: Gottlieb[[/note]]]]

The [[ThoseTwoGuys inseparable duo]] of Lexy and Gottlieb are Kaz's long time friends, field hockey teammates, and occasional partners in crime. The two seem to have known Kaz since their days at Easton Prep School and often accompany him to social events, casual brunches, and shenanigans. During the course of the series they patent a trendy new martini inspired by the caprese salad and open a two-seat bar in Neo Yokio's crowded drinking district.

----
* AttractiveBentGender: Stuck in a female body and going by the alias "Legend," Lexy is so hot that both Arcangelo and Matoko Goldberg ("the hottest lesbian on Long Island," according to Lexy) want to get with "her."
* HeterosexualLifePartners: The two are [[ThoseTwoGuys never seen apart from each other]], attend the same functions (wearing matching outfits), play the same sports, and they go into business together when they open a bar selling a drink they co-patented. There's not much evidence for a romantic relationship between the two, but they clearly care about each other.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Downplayed. Lexy makes a huge speech on consent, sexism, gender, sexuality, and how gender works on a spectrum and not a binary, but that's right after he used his newly acquired female body to make out with a lesbian, despite never stopping to identify himself as a man.
* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: The two of them are named for German philosopher [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Gottlieb_Baumgarten Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten]].
* ShoutOut: Due to some magical aquatic shenanigans, Lexy and Gottlieb find themselves transformed into an attractive woman and a panda, respectively. That's pretty much [[WholePlotReference how the plot of]] ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'' worked.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Always shown together.
* WhatTheHellHero: Lexy calls Kaz out for his inability to treat people (especially women) right. He tells Kaz the reason why none of his relationships work out, and the reason that so many women who actually get to spend time with him end up disliking him, is his incapacity to not try to command them. He then expands it to the fact that Kaz is so self-involved that he genuinely doesn't know how to treat even his own friends right when push comes to shove.

[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/neo_yokio_06.png]]
[[caption-width-right:200:''I'm done searching for meaning in the aesthetic cycles of commodities.'']]

A socialite living in the expensive [[SunkenCity underwater neighborhood]] below 14th Street, Helena St. Tessero is Neo Yokio's premiere fashion blogger... or she was, until a demonic possession, near drowning, and a nasty fall down a flight of stairs at the start of the series. The incident left her so shaken that she completely abandoned her blog, her fans, and her passion for fashion, turning her critical eye instead to Neo Yokio's culture of materialistic excess and extreme class stratification. She and Kaz clash numerous times during the first season, with Helena decrying Kaz as a "lapdog of the bourgeois" and Kaz arraigning her as a hypocritical rich girl, but they still maintain a friendly relationship.

----
%%* BrokenBird
* {{Hikikomori}}: Self-described and PlayedForLaughs. She closes herself off in her room post possession.
* JadeColoredGlasses: Helena's view of Neo Yokio, following her [[CynicismCatalyst demonic possession]].
* LoveInterestTraitor: [[spoiler:Despite being in love with Kaz, she tricks him into helping her, and backstab him by switching places with Sadie and running away with Charles at the end of the show]].
* ReiAyanamiExpy: Helena, a monotone and aloof woman with purplish-blue hair and purple eyes. After [being possessed by a demon and falling down a flight of stairs, Helena dons a hospital gown and head bandage for the rest of the series. Giving up her former life as a fashionista, she becomes reclusive and rarely shows any emotion besides her annoyance towards Kaz. [[spoiler: She even steals and pilots Charles the mech-butler to escape Neo Yokio at the end of episode 6]].
* WesternTerrorists: [[spoiler:After Helena [[BurningTheShips blows up the Bachelor Board]] because it's a symbol of Neo Yokio's excess, she's wanted by the police and the Remembrancer]].
* YouAreTheNewTrend: After her brush with demonic possession and ensuing rejection of Neo Yokio's capitalistic fixation on fashion, Helena refuses to change out of her hospital gown and bandages. The Helenists (her fan club) also begin dressing in hospital gowns and bandages, and by the time the Christmas special rolls around Bergdorf Goodman is selling couture hospital gowns and diamond-encrusted bandages to the trendy youths of Neo Yokio.

[[folder: Arcangelo Corelli]]
!!Arcangelo Corelli
!!!Voiced by: Creator/JasonSchwartzman (English), Gauthier de Fauconwal (French)

[[caption-width-right:200:''I love being in public with my hair wet. I feel like a Gucci model.'']]

Kaz's rival in Field Hockey ''and'' for the top spot on the Bachelor Board, Arcangelo is classic old money Neo Yokio. Conceited and self-centered, Arcangelo wears his privilege on his sleeve like an vintage Rolex, and makes no secret of his rivalry with Kaz. He's got a gaggle of followers called the "East Side Gentlemen" who follow him around in order to laugh at his jokes, but doesn't seem to have many close friends.
----
* AlphaBitch: A male example - Arcangelo is proud of his looks and high status, takes any chance he can to undermine Kaz's success in regards to the Bachelor Board (short of downright sabotage), and isn't above pulling punches when Kaz is down.
* BullyingADragon: He regularly antagonises Kaz, who unlike him, has devastating magical powers.
* TheDandy: Just like Kaz, he cares a lot about culture and fashion.
* GirlPosse: GenderFlipped. As he's a male AlphaBitch, he's also got a group of young men who follow him around and back him up on his stances -- the East-Side Gentlemen.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor
* IdleRich: While Kaz has to take on the various jobs his Aunt assigns in order to contribute to the Kaan family coffers, Arcangelo doesn't seem to burdened with such trifles. His family has a history in politics (his great-great-great grandfather was Theodore Corelli, the Lord Mayor of Neo Yokio), but it is unknown if anyone in his family is currently employed -- or if they're such OldMoney that they don't need a job besides spending the family's money.
* OldMoney: The Corelli family is wealthy, and has been for quite some time. Arcangelo derisively refers to the Kaans and Kaz's posse of West-Side Gentlemen as [[NouveauRiche Neo-riche]].
* PrettyBoy: Arcangelo prides himself on his good looks and taste in fashion.
* PrivilegedRival: Older money than the Kaan family, and looks down on them for being "[[FantasticSlur ratcatchers]]." [[spoiler:It appears Arcangelo's casual [[FantasyRacism anti-magistocrat racism]] is all part of an act to keep up his rank on the Bachelor Board - as soon as the Board is destroyed, Arcangelo is sincerely friendly towards Kaz.]]
* PunchClockVillain: Arcangelo and Kaz's rivalry for the top spot on the Bachelor Board is legendary, but when [[spoiler:the Bachelor Board is blown up, Arcangelo drops all pretense of his feud with Kaz and makes a sincere attempt at being friends.]]

An employee at the Bergdorf Goodman department store and an ardent fan of Kaz.

----
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: He is even credited as Sales Clerk. His real name is revealed in ''Pink Christmas'', [[spoiler:Herbert Sims]].
* SchrodingersCanon: Much of the character's backstory and life is revealed in the in-universe Christmas fable told by Charles to Kaz in ''Pink Christmas''. How much of this aligns to reality is, for now, uncertain.
* UndyingLoyalty: To both the store and the patrons that make up Neo Yokio's rich elite. He takes their every request and need to heart.

[[folder: The Helenists]]
!!The Helenists
!!!Voiced by: Creator/KiernanShipka, Music/WillowSmith, and Creator/AmandlaStenberg
%% image

Helena's biggest fans, the Helenists are three students of Easton Prep School (Kaz's alma mater) who live and breathe the doctrine of Helena St. Tessero's fashion blog. But how far would they be willing to go to imitate their idol?

----
* CoordinatedClothes: Although the initially appear in identical school uniforms, the trio clearly make an effort to dress alike in their free time (as evinced by their identical outfits at the Black and White Ball, and their simultaneous adoption of Helena's "hospital gown and bandage" look).
* CultOfPersonality: The Helenists describe Helena as "our queen" and her fashion blog as "our bible." They eventually transform into an ''actual'' cult when they attempt to [[spoiler:sacrifice Kaz in a ceremony to summon demons so they could be possessed by demons...]] [[LoonyFan just like Helena was]].
%% * InstantFanClub:
%% --> '''Helenist 1''': Helena's given up on fashion, and so have we.
%% --> '''Kaz''': Well, I'm sorry, girls, but Helena St. Tessero has lost the plot.
%% --> '''Helenist 1''': Helena Saint Tesoro has not lost the plot. Helena ''is'' the plot.
%% --> '''Helenist 2''': --and the author.
%% --> '''Helenist 3''': --and the main character.
* IrritationIsTheSincerestFormOfFlattery: The Helenists are quick to adopt Helena's hospital gown and bandage attire after the Black and White Ball, despite not understanding the reasons behind Helena's chosen apparel (and it's possible that their adoption of Helena's look is what prompts the [[YouAreTheNewTrend explosive popularity]] of the style). And when Helena "goes {{Hikikomori}}", the three declare that they're following in her footsteps:
--> '''Helenist 1''': You said Helena's hikikomori. Now we are, too.
--> '''Helenist 2''': We're not leaving this room, and you're not coming in!
--> '''Helenist 3''': We will die in this classroom!
* NoNameGiven: The three are never given individual names. They're only referred to collectively as "The Helenists." (One of them may be named "Kiki," but it's unclear which.)
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse? After the events of episode 3, the Helenists disappear from Easton Prep School -- they don't face consequences for [[spoiler:trying to sacrifice a magistocrat or attempting to get themselves demonically possessed]], and they're never heard from or mentioned again.

An internationally renowned pop star and newly appointed cultural ambassador for Neo Yokio, Sailor is a sweet girl with a thick "North Cackalacka" accent and a (possibly romantic) interest in the suddenly single Kaz Kaan.

----
* CrystalSkull: [[spoiler:She's possessed by a demon, or ''is'' a demon in disguise (it's not exactly clear which one) that sheds the ''Sailor Pelegrino'' body to inhabit a diamond encrusted platinum skull kept in the Met.]]
* FlamingSkulls: [[spoiler:Once the demon inside Sailor Pelegrino possesses the diamond-encrusted platinum skull, the skull becomes wreathed in demonic red energy. Not technically flames, but close enough.]]
* InternationalPopSongEnglish: Sailor Pellegrino will drop her usual Appalachian drawl when singing.

When occult activity begins to tarnish the vaunted institution's sterling reputation, Professor Muhly falls under suspicion of being the instigator. It's up to Kaz to investigate whether or not his old teacher is the demon sympathizer.

----
* CampGay: Professor Muhly speaks with a lisping, camp-y accent and says things like "I've found an outfit you're ''already'' in love with!" He also has a closet (full of all-black ensembles) bigger than his living room. [[spoiler:And a boyfriend.]]
* TheDanza: Voiced by Nico '''Muhly'''.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Because he dresses in all black and keeps "occult" paraphernalia in his apartment, Professor Muhly is initially suspected of being the demon sympathizer causing trouble at Easton. 217[[folder: The Remembrancer]]
!!The Remembrancer
!!!Voiced by: Creator/SteveBuscemi
%%image

Working directly for the founding families of Neo Yokio, the Remembrancer operates to "protect the interests" of the elite. He wears the robes and wig of a judge, and takes to following Kaz once he grows suspicious of the young Magistocrat's involvement with a certain Helena St. Tessero...

----
* CreepyBlueEyes: Has a pair of piercing blue eyes.
* EvilEyebrows: His eyebrows are thin and pointed, making him seem constantly suspicious or devious.
* GoodIsNotNice: The Remembrancer. The one-man investigatory team and Neo Yokio's secret police. He may be trying to stop a terrorist, but he his methods are aggressive, he's willing to ignore concepts like "warrants" and "diplomatic immunity" if no one calls him out on it, and he's a downright a creepy bastard. He is also voiced by Steve Buscemi.
* GoodSmokingEvilSmoking: He asks if he can smoke in Kaz's apartment and when Charles tells him no the Remembrancer pulls out an electronic cigarette, smirking while he replies "good thing I brought my vape." He proceeds to smoke a noxious cloud of vapor in an attempt to drive Helena out of her hiding place. Smoking an e-cigarette makes it clear he's technically savvy (despite the outdated robe and wigs), while having the Remembrancer insist on smoking despite his host's objection makes it clear that he doesn't care to cooperate with Kaz and Charles.
* JudicialWig: The Remembrancer wears the traditional white wig and black robes of a judge.
* VillainousBreakdown: Just when he thinks he's caught [[spoiler: Kaz red-handed helping Helena to escape from Neo Yokio by smuggling her out in the Soviet Union's Grand Prix race car, the Remembrancer finds Sadie hidden in the car instead. He absolutely loses it, screaming and stamping his feet as he demands to know where Helena is.]]

Agatha's twin and Kaz's other aunt. Unlike her sister Agatha, Angelique is laid-back and pleasant. She despises Neo Yokio and spends most of her time in Paris.

Thusfar Angelique has only appeared in the ChristmasEpisode "Pink Christmas" as a character in the story Charles tells to a feverish Kaz, so all information about her is to be taken [[SchrodingersCanon with a grain of salt]].
----
* BourgeoisBohemian: Despite the Kaans' wealth, Aunt Angelique is a liberal, anti-establishment writer.
* CoolAunt: Unlike Agatha, Angelique allows Kaz to go to parties and expresses approval when he admits that he inadvertently tried drugs.
* TheDanza: She is voiced by Angélique Kidjo.
* PolarOppositeTwins: Angelique and Agatha ''violently'' reject each others' worldviews -- without Kaz to mediate for them, they come to blows over Christmas dinner.
* ThemeTwinNaming: Both her and her twin sister Agatha's names start with the letter A.

* NeverFoundTheBody: Uncle Albert died in a boating accident on the Atlantic, but since his body wasn't found the Kaans buried an empty casket. Aunt Agatha remarks that "he’s probably being dragged around the Atlantic in a tuna net."
* PosthumousCharacter: The first mention of Uncle Albert is when Kaz and Aunt Agatha attend his funeral in episode 4.[[spoiler: Subverted in that Albert was not in fact dead, but transformed into a raccoon by his scheming son]].

[[folder: Jeffrey Kaan]]
!!Cousin Jeffrey Kaan
!!!Voiced by: Creator/IkeBarinholtz
%% image

Kaz's unrefined cousin from the Hamptons and the son of Uncle Albert. Jeffrey's Magistocratic powers take the form of [[ElementalPowers water magic]], allowing Jeffrey to control and enchant water... which he uses to [[MundaneUtility clean pools]].

----
* ElementalPowers: Jeffrey has a unique brand of Magistocratic magic that allows him to control and change the properties of water -- he uses these powers in his job as a pool cleaner, but he can also [[spoiler: enchant bodies of water to transform whoever swims in them into butterflies, raccoons, pandas, or the opposite gender]].
* ForcedTransformation: [[spoiler:Jeffrey’s magical powers allow him to enchant water so that whoever swims in it is transformed . . . but it seems like he doesn’t have control over what those afflicted by the magic are transformed into.]]
* {{Greed}}: [[spoiler: Jeffrey resented his father for not keeping up the Kaan family house. He wanted to inherit the property and renovate it in order to bolster his reputation, but to do that his father needed to disappear. While not willing to [[InheritanceMurder off his father]] to get the house, Jeffrey was willing to let his father spend the rest of his days trapped as a raccoon in order to get what he wanted.]]
--> '''Jeffrey''': [[spoiler: I needed people to think he was dead]] so I could inherit the house. He was letting it get all shitty. I wanna make it sick like it used to be, have cookouts with honeys.
* LowerClassLout: Despite living in the Hamptons, Jeffrey's conduct and manner of speech are... decidedly less cultured than his surroundings. He dresses in ripped clothes, rides an ATV around the property in haphazard fashion, and has a rather low-brow vocabulary.
* MundaneUtility: Jeffrey has powers that allow him to control and place powerful enchantments on water... and he uses those powers to clean pools.
* UpperClassTwit: Despite dressing and acting like trailer trash, Jeffrey was raised in the luxury of the Hamptons. He didn't even know that his house was owned by the Kaan family trust, and assumed that he'd inherit it [[spoiler: if he faked Albert's death]].

[[folder:Cathy]]
!!Cathy
!!!Voiced by: Creator/AlexaChung

Kaz's ex-girlfriend, for whom he still holds a torch. Cathy left Neo Yokio and Kaz behind to take an exciting new job in San Francisco. When she returns to Neo Yokio for Grand Prix Weekend, it's with a new boyfriend in tow...
----
* MayDecemberRomance: Cathy and her new boyfriend, Mark Radicchio. Although most of the casts' age is ambiguous, Mark's gray hair and wrinkles suggest he is roughly in his 50's. Cathy, estimated to be the same age as Kaz, is in her early 20s.
* TheOneThatGotAway: Downplayed -- Cathy and Kaz have only been broken up for a few weeks when the series starts, but he spends the first episode sighing over her departure and refusing to participate in sports with his friends or the family business that keeps him afloat. Charles even mentions that in his despondence over Cathy's departure, Kaz threw a tantrum that destroyed a very expensive watch.
-->'''Kaz''': It's been three weeks, and I still can't believe she's really gone. My one true love is now living the glamorous life of an investment banker in San Francisco, while I remain in Neo Yokio haunted by her memory.
* OnlySaneMan: When Cathy is finally introduced, she immediately proves to be more well-adjusted than the typical rich socialite. She's content with her new San Francisco job, moving on with her personal life, and only gets frustrated with Kaz when she sees his self-centered behavior hasn't changed. She's even ashamed when she realizes bringing up her new boyfriend as soon as she encountered Kaz was insensitive. Her worst behavior (telling her new boyfriend that Kaz is crazy jealous and that she's worried he's stalking her) isn't that unreasonable a concern.

[[caption-width-right:200:''This room truly deluxe. Plasma television, recreation of famous Barcelona Chair! Such beautiful minibar. So, this is king-sized bed. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!'']]

A professional race car driver from the Soviet Union, Mila's one of the few entrants brave enough to take on the notoriously difficult Neo Yokio Grand Prix. And it's not just the dangers of the course that she's willing to brave: the contestants are just as nasty. According to the French-Canadian driver Dave 1, she's "stolen" quite a few races from him, and he's gunning for her in the next Prix.
----
* AlliterativeName: '''M'''ila '''M'''alevich
* DefectorFromCommieLand: It would appear that Mila [[spoiler: defected to live the high life of a capitalist in Neo Yokio]], rather for than political reasons, so this trope only partially applies.
* GratuitousRussian: Will often use Russian platitudes and expressions interchangeably with English when speaking.
* VodkaDrunkenski: Mila had zero qualms about going on a pub crawl the night before an important race. [[spoiler: This turned out to be a ploy to get Kaz wasted so she could give him the slip and defect to Neo Yokio.]]
* WearingAFlagOnYourHead: The front of her racing suit is decorated with the hammer, sickle, & star from the flag of the Soviet Union.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: We never find out where she went or what happened to her after she ran away from Kaz.

[[folder: Sadie '''(Spoilers for Episode 4)''']]
!!Sadie
!!!Voiced by: Creator/JudeLaw (English)
%% image

Charles' pilot, Sadie could not be more different from the mecha she operates: she's a foul-mouthed geriatric [[MiniatureSeniorCitizens shortstack]] with a painfully thick [[UsefulNotes/BritishAccents British twang]] who isn't afraid to give Kaz a piece of her mind.

----
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: It's hard to tell exactly how tall Sadie is, but she's small enough to fit in [[spoiler: Charles' torso]] and she doesn't come up past Kaz's shoulders.
* TokenMiniMoe: Despite the fact she is actually an old woman voiced by Jude Law (with a heavy cockney accent), she has the stereotypical stature, mannerisms, and sexualization of the modern loli.
* WalkingSpoiler: Sadie's existence as Charles' pilot is only revealed in Episode 4 and though her job is mostly played for laughs, knowing how she does what she does changes the dynamic of Kaz and Charles' relationship.
