[[folder:Dr. Thomas Light]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mmx_-_light_4702.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Youichi Sasayama (JP, X8), Tomohisa Aso (JP, MHX), Randall Weibe (EN, X8), Michael Mislove (EN, VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcomInfinite)
The original TechnoWizard, and the "father" of ''VideoGame/MegaManX''. In the year [[YearX 20XX (later in the 21st century)]], Dr. Light began working on his masterpiece. However, he knew that he would not live long enough to fully test X's potential, so he had X sealed in a capsule on September 18, 20XX, not to be awakened for thirty years.

For tropes regarding his living human appearances, see [[Characters/MegaManClassicHeroes here]].
----
* BigGood: He keeps pretty busy for a dead guy. He seems to anticipate every obstacle the future will face.
* BrainUploading: There's a theory that Light made the holograms (or is it just '''''a hologram?''''') this way...
** It's almost impossible for it to be anything else, as in X5, he ''specifically refers to Alia''. Sure, he could know about Zero from the past, maybe, but ''Alia''?
** It's further implied if Zero is the one who finds the capsules meant for X in some games. Dr. Light will tell Zero that he can't design any upgrades for him since he doesn't know Zero's specs. Either the hologram was CrazyPrepared with a pre-recorded line in the event that Zero specifically showed up, or there's an intelligence behind it that can actually react to its surroundings.
** The Archie Comic implies that Light became a cyber-elf, bearing the same rainbow halos as cyber elf X when aiding him, Zero, and Axl in a battle against Omega and Dr. Weil.
* CrazyPrepared: Not only does he design no less than eleven different armor sets in the event that the world might need X to step up to the plate as a defender of mankind, he designed armor for Zero in ''Xtreme 2'' and ''Rockman X Mega Mission''. Bear in mind, if he even knew of Zero's existence when he was alive, he'd only know him as Wily's magnum opus.
* DidntSeeThatComing:
** While he prepared capsules ready for X to use well and far in advance, and even prepped himself for a digital copy of a sentient AI in helping protect the world further, Light still made one crucial miscalculation for X: he didn't think someone would liberally copy X's design without any of the testing or refinements that ultimately became the Reploids. Dr. Cain may have fulfilled and helped continue Light's dream for man and machine to come together, but ultimately this oversight by both doctors becomes downright '''apocalyptic''' for the future of Earth.
** He also had no idea that Wily would create what would become the Maverick Virus behind his back, specifically intended for both containing Zero from going into a mindless berserker, and for messing with Light's designs as a counter to the X project. X himself would get enough of an inherent, adaptable viral protection system that the ensuing Maverick Virus (and Sigma and Zero variants) would only hurt him at best; the resulting Reploidkind from Dr. Cain's imperfect recreations would proceed to completely lack how in-depth this system was, and one fateful encounter between Zero and Sigma subsequently resulted in the birth of the viral Mavericks.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: Mega Man X was, and to a degree for a ''very'' long time, ''is'' the pinnacle of robot design, to the point that the Reploids made from recreating him still pale in comparison and near-universally lacked his infinite potential. The problem stems from Light either expiring before he published X's schematics or intentionally making sure they never were found. Because Dr. Cain couldn't ''perfectly'' recreate X, this led to the birth of the Mavericks in hardware and computing errors, which created a destructive snowball of circumstance after circumstance overall. It would take until [[VideoGame/MegaManZero another century]] before [[spoiler:Mega Man X was faithfully recreated by Ciel]].. and that came with a whole new host of problems.
* EnergyBeing: Depending on your interpretation of the capsules.
* FlingALightIntoTheFuture: He created X in hopes that he would help create a world of peace. In a way, he did, but it took many hundreds of years, and Dr. Wily's last creation is just as responsible as Light's (though another of Dr. Wily's creations helped bring it to its knees in the first place).
* InexplicableTreasureChests: How ''did'' he hide all those upgrade capsules? ''X6'' lampshades this; the first time you open a capsule, the hologram wonders how terrible a state the world must be in if you've had to open so many of his capsules.
* IncurableCoughOfDeath: His voice recording inside X's sealing capsule in the ending video of ''Maverick Hunter X''. The good doctor has gotten old and his time was about to come at the time of recording.
* InternalRetcon: ''X5's'' bad ending: He repairs X, but [[{{Unperson}} erases his memories of Zero and installs a program to prevent X from having those memories replaced or recreated.]]
* JustThinkOfThePotential: Dr. Light, seeing that [[LetXBeTheUnknown the "X" stands for a variable that represents unlimited potential,]] and thus, a connotation of danger, averts this trope by sealing him in a capsule for 30 years for morality testing to assure that he'll do what's right (or [[ContinuityReboot alternately]] because TheWorldIsNotReady to accept him as a living, sapient being on par with humans). Dr. Cain, on the other hand...
* LateArrivalSpoiler: For those who'd been playing along as the series released, the sudden reveal in ''X5'' that Dr. Light's "hologram" was actually a sapient AI the whole time was a pretty stunning revelation -- but as of his inclusion in the story of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Capcom has given away that twist to the general public.
* LightIsGood: He has his trademark white coat and is a big good in the series.
* MeaningfulName: He is now a EnergyBeing.
%%* MrExposition
* NotQuiteDead: At the very least, he's alive enough to have conversations in ''X5'', and repair a critically damaged X at the end...
* PosthumousCharacter: Dr. Light the human is dead by the time the ''X'' series begins. The Dr. Light we see in this series is an AI copy.
* ReedRichardsIsUseless: While Doctor Light created X and his endless capabilities, the humans of the future couldn't fully replicate his design, nor did they bother to put their reploids under a special mental-stability diagnostic like X had been. The result was a race of intelligent free-thinking androids that weren't completely stable, causing endless wars.
* SpiritAdvisor: Again, it's up for conjecture, but he fits the bill in the narrative sense. The crackling blue holograms are a nod to Ben Kenobi's force ghost.
* TechnoWizard: He is more or less omnipotent with his technology.

[[folder:Dr. Cain]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mmx_-_cain_4459.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Tadashi Miyazawa (JP), Michael Sheperd (EN)
An Archeobotanist who discovered X and used his design to produce Reploids, robots able to think for themselves. When they started going Maverick, he helped to form the Maverick Hunters. He appeared in ''X2'' and ''X3'' and was mentioned in the backstory for ''X1'' and ''X4'', but [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome disappeared from the series after that]].
----
* TheAtoner: To a small degree, at least, compared to Zero. He was a painful subversion: ''[[NiceJobBreakingItHero every]]'' [[NiceJobBreakingItHero attempt he makes to rectify that mistake, only made things]] ''[[NiceJobBreakingItHero worse]]'': Repliforce, Dr. Doppler, and ''especially'' Sigma. At least making Signas the leader of the Hunters wasn't a bad move.
* BigGood: For the first four games.
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: His role diminishes over the course of the series. His most pronounced and significant appearance was only in ''X2'', where he's the one who ({{canon}}ically) resurrected Zero from the parts X reclaimed from the X Hunters.
* DeathByAdaptation: In ''The Day of Sigma'' OVA.
* NameOfCain: In the OVA ''Day of Sigma'', this is reinforced by the city attacked by Sigma's missile attack being called [[WhatDoYouMeanItsNotSymbolic Abel City.]]
%%* NotThatKindOfDoctor
* NeverFoundTheBody: Despite ''The Day of Sigma'' OVA apparently killing him, there was nothing else to confirm it, and due to originally being shown as alive some time after this was supposed to happen, it's unclear what his fate would have been had the ''Maverick Hunter X'' continuity continued.
* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: Despite his field of study being old weeds, Cain could still reverse engineer X's design to create Reploids. This reverse engineering was physically sound, but he then subverts this trope when he neglects Light's warning about morally testing the new reploids.
%%* TheProfessor
* {{Retcon}}: The OVA and ''Maverick Hunter X'' continuity [[DeathByAdaptation seems to kill him off]] three games ''too early''.
* SchrodingersCast: Due to his indeterminate fate in the ''Maverick Hunter X'' reboot.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: His laboratory and modus operandi are identical to Dr. Light's role in the classic 8-bit games. His personal relationship with the Reploid leader, Sigma, mirrors the good doctor's falling out with Albert Wily.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Cain had good intentions in creating the Reploids from X's design, but not being skilled enough to recreate him 100% and not doing the morality testing resulted in the Mavericks. He then created Sigma to lead the Maverick Hunters, only for the virus in Zero to turn Sigma into humanity's biggest threat in the franchise history. And just for extra measure, his formation of the Repliforce for military police work to take stress off the Maverick Hunters ''also'' backfired into a full-on war and genocide of all of Repliforce. The long-term results of his hasty actions resulted in '''near extinction for all life on Earth'''.

[[folder:Middy]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mmx_middy.png]]
Middy is one of the greatest computer geniuses in the world, and manages the Hunter Base's Mother Computer throughout the Shadow Hunters Incident to assist the Maverick Hunters solve the crisis. Middy's twin brother, Techno, was corrupted by Sigma, and attempted to hack into the Mother Computer by directly connecting his CPU to the computer used for the hacking. Sadly, when X destroyed Techno's terminal to stop him from hacking the Mother Computer, he also destroyed Techno's CPU, and because Techno and Middy shared the same CPU, he was killed too.
----
* CainAndAbel: The abel to Techno’s Cain.
* EvilCounterpart: Techno is one of him.
* CantLiveWithoutYou: When Techno is killed Middy also dies.

[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mmx_double.png]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/YasunoriMatsumoto (JP), Jeremy Felton (EN)
Introduced as a rookie Hunter in ''X4'', this little fat yellow Reploid acts as X's MissionControl and seems bumbling and harmless. Nevertheless he's loyal to X, assisting him in any way he can.

[[folder:Signas]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mmx_-_signas_1619.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/HirotakaSuzuoki (JP), Robert Belgrade (EN, X7), Roger Rhodes (EN, X8)
After the head of the Maverick Hunters (presumably Dr. Cain) resigned after the Repliforce incident, this Reploid was chosen as a successor due to his qualified specs. He was introduced in ''X5'' and has remained in place since, but he was only mentioned [[AllThereInTheManual in the manual]] to ''Mega Man X: Command Mission''.
----
* AllThereInTheManual: Was apparently a private investigator before joining the Maverick Hunters.
* BigGood: The leader of the Maverick Hunters.
* CommissarCap: Not quite as blatant as Colonel's, but...
* ContinuityCameo: Blink and you'll miss it, but he briefly appears in ''The Day of Sigma.''
* DemotedToExtra: Not that he actually had a large role to begin with, but, in ''X8'', his ''only'' appearance is at the end of each mission to congratulate the heroes. That's it.
* {{Foil}}:
** He's remarkably similar, appearance-wise, to [[VideoGame/MegaManX4 Colonel]], but his approach to situations is very much [[ShootTheDog reason before honor]].
** He also serves as one to the once-Commander Sigma, both having a similar name and physique, yet while Sigma was a combat reploid who took the field as often as he liked, Signas keeps to HQ to delegate and support.
* LargeAndInCharge: The former commander, Sigma, was a tremendous reploid of a huge HeroicBuild, and Signas is every bit the same. It's worth noting that, in his apparent cameo in ''The Day of Sigma'', he was much more of a humanlike scale comparable to X, indicating he may have been remodeled to invoke this.
* PowerCrystal: Seven of them, apparently meant to convey his importance.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Signas displays right out of the gate that he's a competent and reliable leader. Despite being flung into the feud between two ancient robots and an immortal malevolent virus, he quickly becomes a figure they trust to give them directive.
* RetiredBadass: It's hard to say if Signas can put up a fight these days, as he seems to spend all hours at his chair anymore, but again, he ''was'' a private investigator under the Maverick Hunters before being made Commander. By definition he had to have been good in holding his own.
* TheStrategist: He plans out the strategies to his team.
* SupportingLeader: He is the commander of the Maverick Hunters, but X and Zero (and later Axl) are the main heroes of the story.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Alia]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mmx_-_alia_8506.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Rumi Kasahara (JP), Rumiko Varnes (EN, X7), Mariette Sluyter (EN, X8)
A [[VoiceWithAnInternetConnection navigator]] who appeared in ''X5'' and has appeared in every game since (not including [[GaidenGame Command Mission]]). Her role in the game is generally to [[CaptainObvious point out that spikes hurt]] and to [[ExpositionFairy pause the game at inopportune moments to tell you so]]. She gained more plot relevance in ''X6'', where her backstory was expanded and tied up with Gate's StartOfDarkness. [[ArtEvolution Unlike the rest of the cast]], her upgrade in ''X8'' was very [[FanservicePack well-received]] among the fans.
----
* ActionGirl: Once unlocked in ''X8'', she can kick as much ass as X does.
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: She shows up in the ''X1'' novelization.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Played oddly with Gate, as each considers the other to be the greater of the two.
* ArmCannon: Has a buster much like X.
* TheAtoner: For her involvement in Gate's StartOfDarkness.
* BadassBookworm: She was a researcher in Reploid engineering before joining the Maverick Hunters, then became a Maverick Hunter as a bonus character in ''X8''. Even as a scientist, ''Mega Man X6'' implies she was combat-proficient, since she was responsible for "retiring" several of the Nightmare Investigators before their revival such as Blizzard Wolfang (though that one she implies was a sneak attack he didn't see coming) and Ground Scaravich.
* BreakoutCharacter: A modest example in that Alia started to get more focus in merchandise and promos years after her redesign in ''X8'', in anticipation for the series' collection in 2018 Alia was prominently shown alongside X, Zero and Axl as if her importance suddenly soared to be on their level.
* CallForward: The ending of ''X6'' implies she at least started the project that created the [[VideoGame/MegaManZero Cyber-Elves]], while resembling the descendant of said genius behind the project.
* TheCameo: Appears briefly in Zero's ''VideoGame/TatsunokoVsCapcom'' ending, and in the field with X and Axl no less, suggesting that she kept her level in badass.
* ChekhovsGunman: First introduced as a simple Navigator in ''X5''. One game later, however, the motivations of one-time BigBad Gate is caused directly by that "simple" navigator. Oh, and there's a [[EpilepticTrees theory]] that they were even actually romantically involved...
* DistaffCounterpart:
** Can be unlocked as a playable character with the same play style as X...but without the armor upgrades.
** According to Dr. Cain in the ''X1'' novelization, Alia also seems to be one to Zero, with her blonde hair, "red body bathed in pink", her stout personality and strong sense of justice.
* ExpositionFairy: Especially in ''Mega Man X5'' Alia is giving the player instructions. From X6 onwards, at least the majority of her comments are optional.
* FanservicePack: Her ''X8'' redesign compared to [[http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100801085349/megaman/images/a/ab/AliaMMX7.jpg her old design]] from ''X5''-''X7'' can only be explained as this. She also [[LettingHerHairDown loses her ponytail]] for the second time since her researcher days.
* GadgeteerGenius: Alia has a background as a Reploid researcher before joining the Maverick Hunters, and despite her self-deprecation is easily on par with former colleague [[MadScientist Gate]]. She's even on the record as having reverse engineered and recreated X's armors from ''X4'' and ''X5'' for the following game (albeit with some [[{{Nerf}} downgrades]]) -- in other words, she can analyze and reproduce Dr. Light's technology. Almost ''no one else'' in canon has been able to ''do'' this.[[note]]The closest anybody comes are Dr. Cain himself and Ciel of the distant-future series, but Dr. Cain's inability to accurately replicate X's systems beyond surface schematics arguably led to Mavericks in the first place, and even Copy-X was at best only a complete recreation of base X with a slapdash imitation of the Ultimate Armor to help him in combat (though in fairness to Ciel, there's nothing to suggest she wouldn't have been able to create more had Copy-X not gone off into KnightTemplar territory first).[[/note]]
* HartmanHips: Even before the "upgrade".
* IWillWaitForYou: Not as pronounced as, say, Ciel to Zero, but a conversation in ''X6'' provokes this trope with X.
* JackOfAllStats: In ''X8'', she handles both enemy and stage strategies but not as much as Layer or Palette, respectively. As a playable character, she's the well-rounded character just like X.
* MissionControl: She provides hints and strategies to the Maverick Hunters during missions as their VoiceWithAnInternetConnection.
* OutOfFocus: ''X6'' focused much of the plot on Alia, with a personal relationship with Gate and even had history with two of the Nightmare Investigators. Her feelings towards X in particular seemed to deepen beyond professional curtesy, with hints that they aren't one sided. She even appears in the beginning and his endings to show how close they are. ''X7'' dials it back significantly and features her largely in the same role as ''X5'', though she retains her role as X's second closest ally after Zero onward.
* PinkMeansFeminine: Her armor parts are composed mainly of this color.
* PromotedToPlayable: Mission control since ''X5'', became a playable character in ''X8''.
* SecretCharacter: Unlockable in ''X8''.
* SecretKeeper: As the Maverick Hunters' Navigator in ''X5'' and directly involving herself in the developments of ''X6'', Alia is the only one besides X who definitively[[note]]Signas ''might'' be aware, but it's hard to say[[/note]] knows Zero's origin as the source of the Maverick Virus.
* ShipTease: With Gate in her flashback sequence in ''X6''. There's also a bit between her and X in the present, although far more subtle than Zero and ''his'' many admirers.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: She's the ''X'' equivalent of [[VideoGame/MegaManClassic Roll]], as she is a GadgeteerGenius female navigator that helps the heroes from behind the scenes.
* TookALevelInBadass: Became playable -- instant action girl and all the appeal that comes with it!
* YouRemindMeOfX: According to the ''X1'' novelization, Alia reminds Dr. Cain of Zero.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Douglas (Doglas)]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mmx_-_douglas_4702.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/WataruTakagi (JP)
This green Reploid was introduced in ''X5'' as the head of the Hunters' research and development department; working to repair the Enigma cannon (and later [[LuckBasedMission probably]] the Space Shuttle) in order to stop the [[ColonyDrop descent]] of Eurasia, as well as installing parts for X and Zero. He reprises this role for ''X6'', before [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome dropping out of the limelight.]]
----
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Post-''X6'' he doesn't appear at all.
* TheEngineer: The Maverick Hunter's mechanic.
* {{Expy}}: The mechanic that assists this generation's Mega Man, in other words, X's Auto. He also resembles Double [[spoiler: in his disguised form, except unlike him, Douglas is not a traitor.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Lifesaver]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mmx_-_lifesaver_1933.jpg]]
Introduced in ''X5'', Lifesaver acts as the head medic for the Maverick Hunters. He becomes suspicious of Zero due to his unusual reactions towards the virus. His suspicions end up provoking the fight between X and Zero fight. Unlike the other Hunters introduced in ''X5'', he does not return in any other game in the series.
----
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Made only one appearance in the series. ''Mega Man X5''
* MeaningfulName: His name refers to his role as a medic.
* TheMedic: He specializes on developing vaccines to fight viruses.
* ProperlyParanoid: During ''X5'', he became suspicious of the virus readings found in Zero since it didn't have an effect on him. [[spoiler:Depending on how the story unfolds, turns out he was right about it Zero and the virus he carries.]]
* ShooOutTheNewGuy: His only appearance was in ''X5'', possibly due to being TheScrappy for [[spoiler: instigating the fight between X and Zero]].
* SingleMindedTwins: Judging from his appearance in the penultimate stage (if playing as Zero), there are at least two of him, and they seem to be on the same wavelength. This isn't clarified in other material, but it's possible that Lifesaver was meant to be a mass-produced, generic robot.
* TheStoolPigeon: Of the Disgruntled Daria subtype.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Layer]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mmx_-_layer_6405.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Sonoko Kawata (JP), Meredith Taylor-Parry (EN)
A new navigator introduced in ''X8''. She has been trained in Reploid and Mechaniloid development, which helps her analyzing enemy and boss strategies, as well as determining a boss' weakness.
----
* ActionGirl: After unlocking her.
* CoolSword: She wields a [[RoyalRapier rapier]] in battle.
* DCupDistress: ''X [=DiVE=]'' reveals Layer isn't too comfortable with her large bust, she is especially embarrassed with [[JigglePhysics how much they bounce.]]
* DistaffCounterpart: Can be unlocked as a playable character with the same play style as Zero.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: This line from Bamboo Pandamonium's stage.
-->"Just hearing the words "space rocket" is so nostalgic. How romantic...Oh...Sorry. Anyway, don't worry. I'll navigate properly."
* EnemyScan: Her MissionControl specialty.
* GracefulLadiesLikePurple: Her armor parts and her hair.
* HopelessSuitor: To Zero. It leads to one of the few, genuinely funny scenes whenever these two interact.
* HyperspaceArsenal: Like Zero, Layer can use various weapons at her disposal, and pull them out of the blue at any time.
* LadyOfWar: When you unlock the requisite weapon upgrades.
* LuminescentBlush: Sometimes when she thinks about Zero. Goes into a [[HighPressureEmotion full-face blush]] from time-to-time.
* {{Ms Fanservice}}: Perhaps the most overtly attractive character in the franchise. She is very busty and her overall design makes her look more scantily clad than she actually is.
* SecretCharacter: Unlockable as a playable character in ''X8''.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Evoked, but not quite literal. It ''looks'' like she's showing off UnderBoobs and her midriff, but closer inspection (heh) shows that said underboobs and midriff are a different color and texture than her face, meaning she ''is'' fully covered, but in a way to specifically make her look stripperiffic. Playing as her in Man-O-War's stage gives the player a nice view of her rear cheeks since she's wearing {{Underwear of Power}}.
* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial:
-->'''Layer''': "Good work out there, X. Um... Zero looks awfully down in the dumps..."\
'''X''': "Oh? Are you worried about him, Layer?"\
'''Layer''': "No... um... not really... as an operator, I'm just concerned about the overall welfare of the team. That's all..."
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Pallette]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mmx_-_pallette_6967.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Haruna Mima (JP), Chris Simms (EN)
The third navigator introduced in ''X8''. She's excels in route analysis and a skilled a cartographer, helping the Maverick Hunters in stage layouts and finding hidden items.
----
* ActionGirl: She gets promoted to action girl status after unlocking her.
* AdaptationalJerkass: She becomes a boss character in the bridal event in ''X [=DiVE=]'', due to her being jealous that the Deep Log keeps passing her up to put Alia, Layer, Ferham, and Iris in the spotlight with all of their fanservice-y variants.
* BattleThemeMusic: "Dim Ciras" in ''VideoGame/MegaManXDive'', which in turn is a heavy metal remix of the ''X8'' boss theme from the ''Rockman Dystopia'' album. [[SoundtrackDissonance Yes, really]].
* DistaffCounterpart: Can be unlocked as a playable character with the same play style as Axl...but for obvious reasons, without his copy chip abilities.
* GadgeteerGenius: Helps with working on various items.
* HyperspaceArsenal: Like Axl, she use the RayGun, [[RevolversAreJustBetter Spiral Magnum]], [[HomingProjectile Black Arrow]], [[GrenadeLauncher Blast Launcher]], [[LightningGun Plasma Gun]], [[ReflectingLaser Bound Blaster]], [[FireBreathingWeapon Flame Burner]], and [[GatlingGood Ice Gatling]] on the fly after acquiring them.
* ItemCrafting: She manages the research and development department lab.
* LittleMissBadass: The youngest and smallest of the three navigators yet she's equally skilled in ass-kicking.
* MyNaymeIs: Her name is Pa'''ll'''ette, an alternate spelling of the word palette.
* RayGun: Her weapon of choice.
* SecretCharacter: Along with Alia and Layer.
* ShipperOnDeck: Likes to tease Layer about her unrequited crush on Zero.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Isn't it sad, Douglas?
* SmallGirlBigGun: A young Reploid girl packing heat with large weapons.
* TrickArrow: ''[=X DiVE=]'' gives her Black Arrows the ability to stun targets.
[[/folder]]

!Repliforce
[[folder:Iris]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mmx_-_iris_4292.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/YukoMizutani (JP), Creator/AyaEndo (JP, ''[=DiVE=]''), Michelle Gazepis (EN, original dub), Ashley Schroeder and Carol-Anne Day (EN, redub)
She is introduced in ''X4'' as Zero's girlfriend who gets caught in the middle of the civil war between her brother fighting for Repliforce and her lover fighting for the Maverick Hunters. She initially helps Zero as his MissionControl (she once had to break up a fight between him and Colonel). 225[[folder:Mac]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mmx_-_mac_720.jpg]]
A Hunter turned Maverick. Captures X at the beginning of ''X3'', allowing players to ''finally'' get the chance to play as Zero.
----
* CurbStompBattle: One combo from Zero is enough to do him in.
* CyberCyclops: It's hard to see with 16-bit graphics but Mac has a visor kinda similar to Cyclops of ''X-Men'' fame, but with something attached that might be a targeting reticule.
* FaceHeelTurn: He used to be a member of the Maverick Hunters but defected to Doppler's Army.
* GlassCannon: He has decent offensive capabilities, combining a spread shot like ''VideoGame/MegaMan2'''s Flash Man with a bullet shot like Vile's. Defensively however he is at the level of common enemies, and is up against [[TheAce Zero]], who can potentially one-shot him with a Z-Saber slash.
* InformedAbility: He was a member of the Maverick Hunter's 17th Elite Unit which...well, it's only for the elite. But in practice Mac falls far short of the unit's other members in terms of performance.
* MechaMooks: In terms of durability, he is essentially a mook but with a name and unique appearance.
* TheParalyzer: He can fire a shot which paralyzes the target if it hits. He uses this to capture X.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Not even. He only has 16 HP, so little he doesn't even get a health bar reserved for bosses and mini-bosses.
* PsychoticSmirk: Can't be seen in the game but his character art shows he sports this expression.
* StarterVillain: He's the first boss fought in X3, though he possess an HP so low that he barely qualifies for even a {{Miniboss}} status. His only saving grace being that he possess invincibility frames whenever he takes a hit.
* SuperSupremacist: Alludes to this when he talks about showing X "the true destiny of the Reploid race", implying he is one of the many villains of the series who wants a Reploid-run nation.

[[folder:Green Biker Dude]]
A popular extra from the intro stage of ''X2'', who died within seconds of his introduction. [[DyingMomentOfAwesome While popping a wheelie]]. Whether he has ever been resurrected is not shown (although see Douglas above).
----
* BadassBiker: A subverted case since he is blown up in seconds. His memetic incarnation lives up to the trope more.
* FanGame: Despite only appearing for a few seconds, he is popular enough with fans that an entire game was made about him.
* NoNameGiven: "Green Biker Dude" is not actually his name, it's just what fans call him since he is not given any name in the game itself. The Japanese version of Website/{{Wikipedia}} refers to him as "Charley".
* OCStandIn: Absolutely nothing is known of his character. Lucas Gilbertson, the English voice of Zero in the later series, has expressed interest in voicing a prequel explaining his motives; this is at best highly unlikely to happen.
* RedGreenContrast: He has green armor and a red stripe on his helmet.
* RedShirt: Which is ''[[MeaningfulName very]]'' appropriate.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He is destroyed few seconds after his first appearance.

->'''Voiced by''': Creator/ReinaUeda (JP)
The new Navigator for ''Mega Man X Dive''. She keeps track of all things in the Deep Log and helps guide the player through the game.
----
* AddressingThePlayer: She even refers to you as "Player".
* AmbiguouslyGay: Put any female character in front of her in one of their alternate outfits and she's quick to croon about how beautiful and sexy she thinks they are.
* BarrierWarrior: One of her skills creates a field around herself that damages enemies on contact. On the flip side, it will also heal [=RiCO=] as long as she stays within its area of effect. It does nothing to projectiles, however.
* BreakTheCutie: She has a very hard time accepting the fact that [[spoiler:[=ViA=] and [=iCO=] have to be destroyed to restore the Deep Log]], and bless her heart, she tries to do ''everything in her power'' to avoid that outcome, so when it happens, she doesn't take it well, with her only solace being that she's certain that [[spoiler:they can be potentially restored or they'll return at some point somehow]].
* GenkiGirl: She's a perky happy little thing, enthusiastic for her work almost full-time.
* MeaningfulName: "Rico" is the German term for "home ruler", denoting her position as the administrator of the Deep Log.
* NiceGirl: Constantly upbeat, and is always friendly towards everyone except previously-confirmed enemies such as Vile or Sigma. This is in contrast to [=iCO=], who is friendly at her core but requires more effort to express it.
* PowerCopying: One of her Active Skills, Data Recreation, allows her to replicate attacks used by X, Zero, and Iris.
* PungeonMaster: Likes joking with the player and [=ViA=].
* TokenHeroicOrc: [=RiCO=] herself is Irregular Data, and it is noted that correcting the Deep Log may lead to her own deletion. She is eventually upgraded into a Hunter Program in order to continue assisting the player.

[=ViA=] is a mysterious character introduced in ''Mega Man X Dive''. He used to be the administrator of the Deep Log before the events of his introduction in the game, but no longer performs that task due to reasons as of yet unknown.
----
* AllYourPowersCombined: Has access to at least one unique move from all of Zero's canon forms, including the Zero Nightmare and Absolute Zero. As [[spoiler:[=ViA=] -square-]], he also has a cross laser attack resembling the one spawned from upgraded Explosion attacks by [[spoiler:his predecessor Bass's [=NetNavi=] counterpart]], except it fires from his position diagonally.
* CharacterCatchphrase: "Ha!", used often enough to the point that [=RiCO=] notices when he ''doesn't'' say it.
* CompositeCharacter: [[spoiler:As [=ViA=] -square-, he inherits Bass's armor design, Zero's long hair, Awakened Zero's Shingetsurin and Genmu Zero, and Omega's Ranbu and Arc Blade. Justified, as he is a direct manifestation of both Zero's original programming and one of Dr. Wily's creations from the Classic era]].
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Keeps hitting on Iris during the ''VideoGame/MonsterHunterRise: Sunbreak'' event, [[spoiler:hinting at him being a LiteralSplitPersonality of Zero by technicality]].
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:As part of the source of the corruption within the Deep Log thanks to his "Robot Destroy Program", [=ViA=] and [=iCO=] stir the Player and [=RiCO=] into one last fight before blowing themselves up to purge their corruption from the database.]]
* IdenticalStranger: [=ViA=] is almost identical to Zero as he appeared on the first game as a result of the errors in the Deep Log. He also fights like Zero circa the X vs. Zero battle from ''X5''. This turns out to be foreshadowing to the fact that he's [[spoiler:the host of the original "Robot Destroy Program" created by Wily that became the Maverick Virus. Once he changes to his "serious mode", [=ViA=] -square-, his design shifts significantly, with no helmet, long white hair and armour that resembles a hybrid of Bass and Zero.]]
* {{Irony}}: Despite [[spoiler:being a part of Zero's original programming as a Maverick, he still desperately clings to the hope that he can become a hero out of his own free will. On the contrary, when he was installed in Zero, bringing his code out turned the Maverick Hunter unresponsively violent]].
* LiteralSplitPersonality: [[spoiler:By technicality, due to being part of the Robot Destroy Program which in turn was used to create the Maverick Virus that contributed to Zero's personality. [=ViA=] represents Zero before ''VideoGame/MegaManX4'', as a carefree wise-cracking Hunter more open to socializing with others. Unfortunately, this also means his purpose as a fragment of the Maverick Virus shakes him more deeply to his core than [=iCO=], and his equivalent to Iris's death as his CynicismCatalyst is ''his own'']].
* MeaningfulName: Via is Latin for "path", or "way". [[spoiler:The second name attached to him, "Naught", refers to "nothingness" or "zero", in reference to his similar appearance to Zero]].
* MirrorMatch: If you fight him as Zero or any variant thereof, and especially with a Saber weapon, [=ViA=] is effectively a Zero boss fight in moveset, thus a Zero vs. Zero fight. Vice versa if you use his playable version against other Zeroes in PlayerVersusPlayer. [[spoiler:[=ViA=] -square- is all but Awakened Zero in name as well.]]
* NoMouth: [=ViA=] normally has no visible mouth, though it's briefly seen in his Character Select animation and when he undergoes severe damage. [[spoiler:As [=ViA=] -square-, this no longer applies.]]
* NotSoAboveItAll:
** He usually plays the straight man to [=RiCO=], but will act as giddy as a fanboy during crossover events such as the Monster Hunter and Street Fighter ones. He even dresses up with cosplay with her for the former and shows extensive knowledge about fighting techniques for the latter.
** He also has a weakness for sexy/cute girls and idols in particular, getting ''really eager'' to see [=RiCO=] and [=iCO=] in idol outfits when the possibility presents itself during one of the Valentine's Day events, and he has a rather ''prominent'' reaction to [=iCO=]'s Gore Magala outfit.
* TomatoInTheMirror: [[spoiler:He's effectively an incomplete avatar of the Maverick Virus due to being a manifestation of one of the programs used to create it. By extension, due to its role in creating Zero's current personality, [=ViA=] can also be taken as an actual fragment of his soul, explaining their similar appearances]].

[[folder:[=iCO=]]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/ReinaUeda (JP)
* AbhorrentAdmirer: Of X, during the ''Monster Hunter'' events. While her interest in him makes [=iCO=] comparable to Marty in this regard, it's deliberately made out to be way creepier due to an InterplayOfSexAndViolence and [=iCO=] only admitting she feels this way about X after splitting him off from Zero and Iris through a fight.
* TheComicallySerious: Her role in relation to her fellow operators. This especially comes into play during the Valentine's Day event, where she ''really'' doesn't want to put on an idol outfit despite [=RiCO=] and [=ViA=]'s insistence, until it turns out she literally has to in order to complete the stage, much to her chagrin. Her expressions in the artwork for her Valentine's and Swimsuit variants show that she's not very happy with what she's been dragged into, most notably in the card for the latter.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:As part of the source of the corruption within the Deep Log thanks to her "Robot Destroy Program", [=ViA=] and [=iCO=] stir the Player and [=RiCO=] into one last fight before blowing themselves up to purge their corruption from the database.]]
* InterplayOfSexAndViolence: Uses an odd, suggestive choice of words to describe how she enjoys fighting X during the ''VideoGame/MonsterHunterRise: Sunbreak'' event. To X's face, even.
* LiteralSplitPersonality: [[spoiler:Like [=ViA=], her being a manifestation of the Maverick Virus technically renders [=iCO=] one of Zero from a programming standpoint. In this case, she represents Zero's post-''X4'' personality, trying to be colder and more emotionally-distant than the rest of the cast. However, because she doesn't actually have the emotional trauma to justify it, [=iCO=] does have a soft side, reminiscent of Zero as the manga for ''Mega Man Zero'' portrays him.]]
* NotSoAboveItAll: Like [=ViA=], this trope affects her on occasion - in particular during the second ''Monster Hunter'' event, where it turns out she's not only a fan of the series as well, she's not as good at the games as her sister, and she goes on ''long rants'' about it. Also, her ''Monster Hunter'' suit basically flips a switch in her head, turning [=iCO=] into a hyperactive ([[TheStoic by comparison]]) {{Fangirl}} of X with NoSenseOfPersonalSpace.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Loves to drink tea, and tries to relax with some whenever she can.
* {{Underboobs}}: Her bikini top in her swimsuit variant, in addition to being backless, shows off the underside of her breasts.

->'''Voiced by''': Nami Miyaki (JP)
* BagOfHolding: Her beloved purse holds an infinite amount of "friends" (ghosts) she collects and uses in battle.
* CollectorOfTheStrange: She [[YourSoulIsMine collects human ghosts]], which should [[HowUnscientific definitely not be possible.]]
* HowUnscientific: One of her hobbies is collecting ghosts. Keep in mind though BrainUploading data ghosts are common in the Megaman series, actual supernatural spooky ghosts are well outside of the [[TwentyMinutesIntoTheFuture rules of the setting]] - reflecting her nature as a non-canon "glitch" character that a fan might come up with.
* {{Goth}}: She starts off as this but becomes a PerkyGoth once she's cured/rescued.
* LoonyFan: WordofGod stated she's this for VisualKei boybands.
* MagneticMedium: She attacks using ghosts she summons.
* MiddleChildSyndrome: According to her introductory biography, she feels torn between her younger brother's innocence and her older sister's jaded apathy, and so has a confused identity.
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: As noted by characters in-game, it's obvious she doesn't belong to the canon timeline because she barely looks like a Reploid and uses [[DoingInTheScientist magical necromancy]] ([[HowUnscientific something that definitely doesn't belong in the Megaman universe]]) in her attacks.
* OriginalGeneration: She and her siblings are framed around being [[CanonImmigrant Canon Immigrants being dreamed up by fans]]. Since they aren't part of the canon timeline, they'll vanish when they die but [=RiCO=] and [=ViA=] figure out they'll [[CharacterShilling retain their lives]] if they can [[BreakingTheFourthWall make the fandom accept them.]]
* RedBaron: "Host of Annihilation Droitclair".
* TechnicolorEyes: Pink irises and cyan pupils with magenta rings around them.
* TerribleTrio: She, Angie and Erato are all explicitly in opposition to the efforts of the Player and their navigators, due to being Irregular Data themselves and [[spoiler:being infected by the Sigma Virus]].
* {{Tsundere}}: Her bio notes that she's lonely and rude, but warms up quickly to friends.
* VisualKei: Her clothing is based on a mixture of this and Goth.

[[folder:Angepitoyeir]]
->'''Voiced by''': Chisato Satsuki (JP)
* CaptainErsatz: An even bigger homage to Manga/AstroBoy than the original Mega Man, which was (along with Series/WarriorOfLoveRainbowman) one of the series' [[CompositeCharacter two primary sources of inspiration]]. Several of his poses are taken directly from iconic Astro Boy poses and his storyline is nearly identical to that of Denkou/Zero from the Astro Boy series.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: Completely innocent and thinks firing laser beams and black holes at people [[ObliviouslyEvil are a fun game.]]
* CompositeCharacter: As noted above he's a combination of Astro Boy and one of his minor but memorable antagonists: Denkou/Zero.
* GoldAndWhiteAreDivine: His color motif is gold and white.
* GooGooGodlike: He has the mind of a child but unrivaled destructive power.
* InSeriesNickname: He is nicknamed Angie.
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: Ironically inverted, as amongst his siblings he's the one that looks most like a Reploid, albiet [[UncannyValley slightly too human and cartoony.]] Instead, what's supposed to make it obvious he's non-canon is the his [[OurAngelsAreDifferent oddly angelic motif]] that [[NoSuchThingAsSpaceJesus has no business in Megaman X's scifi world.]]
* OriginalGeneration: He and his siblings are framed around being [[CanonImmigrant Canon Immigrants being dreamed up by fans]]. Since they aren't part of the canon timeline, they'll vanish when they die but [=RiCO=] and [=ViA=] figure out they'll [[CharacterShilling retain their lives]] if they can [[BreakingTheFourthWall make the fandom accept them.]]
* OurAngelsAreDifferent: His design motif is based around an angel to contrast with Droit's demonic necromancy.
* RedBaron: "Pitiful Host Angepitoyeir".
* TokenMiniMoe: Rale male version.
* UnrealisticBlackHole: He can leave behind miniature black holes when he flies.

[[folder:Eratoeir]]
->'''Voiced by''': Creator/KikukoInoue (JP)
* CoolBigSis: Her characterization revolves around this.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Has pink eyes and the bulk of her hair is pink.
* FriendlyAddressPrivileges: Permits the protagonists to refer to her as "Erato" after events run their course.
* MsFanservice: She has a decently shapely figure covered in a skintight bodysuit. An alternate costume shows her in a midriff-baring delinquent gear with a sarashi that bares the lower side of her bossom.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: With her overall design and HolyHalo, she looks more like a character straight out of ''VideoGame/BlueArchive''.
* {{Sarashi}}: Befitting her Japanese Delinquents theme, Gangsta Girl Eratoeir wears one in lieu of a shirt. The joke being that her breasts are so large, the sarashi barely covers enough to be street legal.
* {{Underboobs}}: Thanks to her sarashi in her Gangsta Girl persona, the bottom side of her bust is visible.

After his revival in secrecy in the fourth Mega Mission, he powers up with a Power Up Capsule and becomes known as Grow X (shortened to G-X).
* NotQuiteDead: During the battle with Sigma Limited, X uses all the energy he has to destroy Sigma which causes the armor Return X turned into to dissolve. 373* OneWingedAngel: He merges with the Mother Limited and becomes known as Doppler iX.
