[[folder:General]]
* BalancePowerSkillGimmick: The original four main characters in "Larva Heroes", a mobile game in which Yellow is the JackOfAllStats, Red is a FragileSpeedster, Super Yellow is the MightyGlacier and Wizard Brown is the SquishyWizard. Black Knight and Rainbow Warrior, which were added in later updates of the game, come off as respectively MightyGlacier and FragileSpeedster.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Nice characters can show how tough and emotional they can be when push comes to shove or when something dramatic occurs.
* TheChewToy: Almost everyone are this, some characters like [[AffablyEvil Violet]], [[TheSmurfettePrinciple Pink]] sometimes, [[ActionGirl Mango]], or [[SatelliteCharacter Cocoa]] are ImmuneToSlapstick.
* FourManBand: Yellow, Red, Brown and Black. Sometimes the roles within the quartet might change depending on the episode, for example:
** Yellow can range from the gullible ButtMonkey to the OnlySaneMan, when he feels remorse for his and the others' actions, or TheSmartGuy, when he manages to be talented at something or to avoid getting in danger in certain situations;
** Red is usually the conceited [[ComedicSociopathy Comedic Sociopath]], but he can also be an EnragedByIdiocy example of an OnlySaneMan because of the others' clumsiness and nonsense, or a ButtMonkey who tries to fit in;
** Brown can fit in all the other roles, except the OnlySaneMan status, being the most eccentric member of the group;
** Black is either the tough [[ComedicSociopathy Comedic Sociopath]] or the OnlySaneByComparison due to his TheStoic trait.
* {{Gonk}}: To start off, a lot of the insect characters (while designed and rendered well) aren't the prettiest bugs around (in fact reviewers in fact founded the larvae's designs cartoonishly hideous). Along with the animal characters, they either range from UglyCute or literally ugly-looking such as the Muds. The only exception being Chuck, who seems like a RidiculouslyAverageGuy with a NonstandardCharacterDesign, even by Larva standards.
** Some humans like the antagonistic one in "Insect Killer" 1 and 2 being portrayed as [[HumansAreTheRealMonsters cruel with a ugly appearance.]]
* IdiotBall: Either Zig-Zagged or Inverted with everyone.
* JerkassBall: Characters like Pink or Brown showing this on occasion.
* NiceMeanAndInBetween:
** Nice: [[NiceGuy Yellow]], [[BigBrotherInstinct Black]], [[ActionGirl Mango]], [[MoralityPet Clara]], [[TheFriendNobodyLikes Blue]], [[CanisMajor Maroon]], [[BewareTheNiceOnes Ivory]] and [[SatelliteLoveInterest Cocoa]].
** Mean: [[{{Jerkass}} Red]], [[HairTriggerTemper Bee]], [[MonsterOfTheWeek Navy and the Green]], [[NotSoHarmlessVillain Grey]], [[SuperPersistentPredator Frog]] [[VillainousFriendship with Prism]], [[NoNonsenseNemesis Prussian]], [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass The Silvers]], and [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}}s the Muds]].
** In-Between: [[ButtMonkey Chuck]], [[ThePigPen Brown]], both [[BruiserWithASoftCenter Crabsformer and Rainbow]], [[AffablyEvil Violet]], [[KillerRabbit Mite]], and [[SatelliteCharacter Pink]].
* NotAllowedToGrowUp: [[MeaningfulName As the name of the show implies]], almost all of the insects are immature. This was subverted in the "As time goes by" episode where most of the characters age and this was double-subverted in the "Welcome Larva!" episode where the titular Larvae grow wings and fly out of their vent into UsefulNotes/NewYorkCity.
* EveryoneHasStandards: They all have decency in their personality, Grey was the [[SubvertedTrope subverted version]] in his return in "Larva Island".

[[folder:Red]]
!!Red
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/red_92.png]]

A red larvae in the titular duo and is one of the main characters who is [[SmallNameBigEgo full of pride]] and [[HairTriggerTemper easily irritated.]] [[BewareTheSillyOnes So don't try to mess with him!]] He is [[UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist always pulling mean jokes on Yellow and others]]. But somehow [[GoneHorriblyRight finds himself in trouble in the end.]]

----
* AssholeVictim: Whenever his KarmaHoudini doesn't ensue, he's usually this trope when around Yellow more likely.
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: In ''Larva Island'', went from being an utterly [[SmallNameBigEgo self-centered]] and [[ItsAllAboutMe arrogant]] {{Jerkass}} into an JerkWithAHeartOfGold.
* ButtMonkey: Overall the biggest one in the show, often doubles with LaserGuidedKarma given in the episode.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass While he may be a Butt-Monkey, he can be pretty violent when quick-tempered]] and can also be full of himself to an [[ManipulativeBastard dangerously manipulative]] to a cruel degree.
* DisproportionateRetribution: He is often both a victim and a perpetrator of this.
* DidNotGetTheGirl: He gets rejected by Pink constantly. Yellow, on the other hand...
* EnragedByIdiocy: Usually is this to Yellow, whether he decides to [[SilentSnarker snark at Yellow]] or [[AmusingInjuries not.]]
* FuryFueledFoolishness: ''Sometimes'' to an [[PluckyComicRelief comical degree]] [[EnragedByIdiocy when short-tempered with Yellow for a harmless reason or not.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: He slaps around [[TheDitz Yellow]], often for trivial reasons.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Yes he can be abusive, self-centered, selfish, quick-tempered, grumpy and incredibly full of himself, [[{{AdaptationalNiceGuy}} he then grows on to become less of a jerk than before (in spite of his selfish or grumpy qualities he can still have) and can show how sympathetic & likable he can be at times]].
* HairTriggerTemper: You can probably count the episodes that don't include his angry "RRRRR" noises on one hand.
** Will sometimes just get angry and immediately slap [[DumbIsGood Yellow]] just for being in his vicinity.
* HumiliationConga: Several episodes in both season one and two will solely focus on his suffering alone.
* IronButtMonkey: Along with Yellow, they can be quite durable.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Can come across as this when jealous, snarky, obsessive, gluttonous or greedy, this is also a given due to him [[SmallNameBigEgo having quite an huge ego towards others]].
* KarmaHoudini: Quite rarely, and leans on the more AssholeVictim side of things.
* MeaningfulName: Along with many other characters, his name is based on his color.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: The Savvy Guy to Mango's adventurous, energetic girl.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: Granted that he is a tiny, short character and his voice usually sounds high-pitched in general.
* RedIsViolent: ''Literally this'' [[SmartJerkAndNiceMoron with]] [[TheDitz Yellow]] around because of being EnragedByIdiocy. Although he isn't ''that'' blood-hungry as other examples are.
* RelationshipUpgrade: With [[ActionGirl Mango.]] Even for their mild breakup in the episode ''"Drift"''.
* ShorterMeansSmarter: Usually with [[TheDitz Yellow.]] Even if Red is [[SkilledButNaive also quite naive himself.]]
* SmartJerkAndNiceMoron: While done without any dialogue and Red being rather a SilentSnarker to Yellow's foolery instead of being an InsufferableGenius per say, Red and [[TheDitz Yellow]] are still this pairing nonetheless.
* ThrowTheDogABone: His ButtMonkey status in season three is noticeably toned down compared to the first and second season before getting lowered all together in Larva Island.
* TookALevelInKindness: As Larva Island goes by, Red has become a lot more nicer to Yellow than before, especially in his relationship with [[ActionGirl Mango]].
* ToxicFriendInfluence: To Yellow whenever their antics or mischief ensues in some instances.
* {{Tsundere}}: A non-romantic version. It's sometimes shown, [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold he does care about Yellow.]]

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/e170de3e848eb9eee6c7b95467f1639c.jpg]]

An yellow larvae who is an [[PluckyComicRelief comically]] TooDumbToLive if [[ToiletHumor gross]] ButtMonkey and is one of the main characters and titular duo

----
* ButtMonkey: Obviously sharing Red's [[TheChewToy punching bag]] status, but a lot less than [[TheChewToy Red]].
** This trope only worsens for him in the third season where he starts having it [[YankTheDogsChain even worse than Red]]. [[HumiliationConga "Booger"]] and [[AssShove "Feelers"]] being prime examples of this.
* TheChessmaster: Showing how he [[SmarterThanYouLook isn't as dumb as he seems and is,]] in one episode called "Genius Yellow", Yellow slips on a puddle, bumps into Red and accidentally swallows his bread, only for it to be later revealed that he specifically [[AllAccordingToPlan planned it that way]].
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: He's had tons of remarks of himself being an odd fellow, can be a total dingbat, usually the goofball while around Red or not, and Yellow himself can be quite eccentric, over-the-top and weird in his usual goofy behavior or blissful activities when in his everyday naivete, [[IgnoranceIsBliss blissful ignorance]] or from anything weird happening in a episode, just enough to make him seem unpredictable at times.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Yellow has his [[IdiotHero heroic]] [[LetsGetDangerous moments]] as one of the protagonists and can obligingly prove to be a GeniusDitz or can help out his friends, no matter how silly and inane he usually is. He can also be this when trying to be tough and intimidating, enough to the point that [[BewareTheSillyOnes he can look pretty crazy]].
** Not only that, but he also started what would be the first Larva Rangers, who would defend all from those who would pick on the weak.
* DidNotGetTheGirl: [[spoiler:Ultimately loses Pink to [[ThePigPen Brown]] of all people and [[{{LoveHurts}} gets emotional because of this]]]].
* DumbButDiligent: When it either comes to Yellow pulling out moments of true brilliance in his GeniusDitz moments or is cooperative as well.
* DumbIsGood: [[TheDitz Very]] [[TooDumbToLive Dumb]], and very [[NiceGuy Nice.]] Enough said.
* {{Fartillery}}: Uses his farts like a cannon (while he can use them like a rocket, heater, etc).
* FunPersonified: What he likes doing by himself or with friends on a special occasion when discovering something or something else being the case.
* TheFool: Can show moments where he is very lucky in some instances/situations/etc that don't come across the IdiotHoudini zone, in fact, this can most likely be subverted when a ButtMonkey.
* GeniusDitz: (See TheChessmaster above), Yellow has shown to be naturally talented and pretty skilled in some techniques that he also teaches how to function some abilities to [[ItsAllAboutMe Red]] or his friends.
* IdiotHoudini: Often in the early episodes, although {{Averted}} in later episodes.
* IronButtMonkey: Along with Red, he is quite durable and always lets [[{{Jerkass}} Red]] [[DopeSlap slap him around]] and is still happy regardless, [[BewareTheNiceOnes well most of the time]].
* TheKlutz: Can be this sometimes due to his [[TooDumbToLive dimwitted]], [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} oddball]] tendencies with his [[PluckyComicRelief usual silliness]] making him prone to comical clumsiness, it can also result from having poor coordination with some environmental structures when running or other times like running on ice for example or is sometimes easily & unreasonably thwarted into being involved with {{slapstick}} pain when in his harmless activities by [[UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist Red]] or is shown to have his klutzy moments [[DependingOnTheWriter whenever he has screen time]].
* KindheartedSimpleton: Due to his aforementioned DumbIsGood demeanor, he never has a deliberately mean or malicious bone towards anyone unless he was motivated to do so (e.g [[ToxicFriendInfluence Red]]) or was just being mischievous. Yellow isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, but he sure is incredibly kind, good-natured and was shown to be very sympathetic ''(usually loyal to Red on the DumbButDiligent side of things and in general)'', [[FriendToAllLivingThings and is even gentle towards any kind of creature]] [[spoiler:unless he was shown to be a lot more and more [[CaptainOblivious oblivious]] about something that could lead to [[ObliviouslyEvil potential problems]] in general or more oblivious with just problems in general at times]].
* LethallyStupid: Yellow's clumsiness allows him to cause misfortune on others without intention and the episode "Troublemaker" shows his stronger side of this trope.
* MeaningfulName: Along with many other characters such as Red, his name is based on his skin color.
* ExtremeDoormat: The most soft-tempered and least bad-tempered to the slapstick in inflicted on him and always is this to Red, except one time he tried getting revenge ''in Red's sleep'' when feeling pressured to..
* {{Gasshole}}: Can be this due to childish humor or out of habit. While his friends can be hypocritical since they can be gassy too, Yellow does this a lot more often than not.
* PluckyComicRelief: Is ultimately this due to his [[TheDitz ditzy]] and [[{{CloudCuckoolander}} goofball]] characteristics.
* SimpletonVoice: Although Yellow himself never talks per se, you'd get the idea that he has a goofy, stupid dialect because of the amusingly eccentric and silly voices he usually makes when communicating or during his usual antics.
* ToiletHumor: Is frequently the cause of this.
* WhoWouldBeStupidEnough: Where some of his foolishness can result from.

----
* HatesBaths: In one episode, the other characters decide to [[StagingAnIntervention force him to take a bath]]. They eventually succeed, but this somehow [[ItMakesSenseInContext causes him to spew golden light and fly all throughout]] [[BigApplesauce New York City]].
* IdiotBall: Brown can make stupid mistakes as a part of some misadventure or story, "Insect Killer 1" is a prime example of this.
* JerkassBall: Brown can be this quite easily in seasons 1 and 2.
* ThePigPen: Goes without saying, but he even hates baths. (See above)
* PutOnABus: In ''Island'', aside from the episodes "Lala Island" and "Larva Rangers".
* ToiletHumor: Being a dung beetle this is a given.

[[TheBrute Incredibly strong,]] Black is a beetle with a [[MegatonPunch dreadful fist that shows herculean strength.]] After Season 1, [[BigBrotherInstinct he's like an older brother to Yellow and Red.]] He doesn't bully the Larva anymore, [[HairTriggerTemper unless he's provoked.]]

----
* TheBrute: He is definitely this, although, After the first season, he doesn't showcase his strength as much and [[AdaptationalNiceGuy becomes nicer]] [[BigBrotherInstinct towards the Larvae duo]].
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: [[spoiler:When he showed his true appearance under his armor [[WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids (by stripping and jumping)]] while acting genial and still protective to Yellow, who was understandably horrified by Black's weirdness [[SurrealHumor (while being more energetic and eccentric than ever)]] and this was [[OutOfFocus never referred to again.]]]]
* HairTriggerTemper: Has this in the first season, only to undergo a personality change and never lose his temper for the rest of the show.
* MeaningfulName: Has black armor in his usual appearance, [[SubvertedTrope but is more white underneath his gear, however.]]
* MightyGlacier: Normally, he moves pretty slow (sometimes shown to be [[FasterThanYouLook when running for example]]), but he can give a serious beating.
* PutOnABus: In ''Island'', aside from the episodes "Lala Island" and "Larva Rangers".
* RoarBeforeBeating: Typically whenever something disturbs him.
* TheStoic: Played straight, as in the First season he was depicted as an emotionless and ruthless tough guy, seldom having a different expression rather than him having his mouth open and his eyes glowimg when he's angry or both closed when he is chill. Downplayed after Season 2, as he would often display the same emotions as the others, but in a more subtle way.

Yellow's {{love interest}}.
----
* ClingyJealousGirl: Whenever Yellow [[LoveMakesYouDumb fell in love]] with another character [[PlayedForLaughs as a joke]] (e.g Cocoa in her introduction).
* {{Hypocrite}}: [[spoiler:At times, one, in particular, is the episode ''"Diet"'', when she didn't appreciate Yellow becoming fat and wanted him to change, ''but she becomes fat as well when [[BigEater eating a lot]] and Yellow makes himself fat again because of her hypocrisy''.]]
* ImmuneToSlapstick: While a lot of characters are slapstick-prone, she is usually immune to the mayhem that ensues, well.. most of the time.
* MeaningfulName: Along with many other characters such as Red and Yellow, her name is based on her skin color.
* PutOnABus: In ''Island'', aside from the episodes "Lala Island" and "Larva Rangers".
* SatelliteLoveInterest: Is this when she was Yellow's girlfriend from the first three seasons, [[spoiler:and is revealed now being [[ThePigPen Brown]]'s girlfriend in season 5.]]

!!Violet
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/violet_from_larva.png]]

[[AffablyEvil Violet]] is a friend of the larva and was one of the villains in Larva before a vague, mild HeelFaceTurn.

----
* AffablyEvil: While Violet is considered to be an occasional [[TheBrute brute,]] he is very affable to the larvae duo unless something occurs in the larvae's ButtMonkey status.
* ButtMonkey: Even for being one of the toughest and monstrous characters around, he can be easily defeated by [[TemptingFate deadly attacks when trying to look scarier than his enemy]] (e.g mosquitos in the ''"Mosquito"'' episode).
* TheBrute: He shares this role with Black, but he's still a powerhouse.
* DirtyCoward: Whenever he is ineffectual with his usual skills at aggression while protecting the larvae duo can occur at times, examples of this was the ''"Hi Violet"'' episode, when he goes back and hide from the parrot when his roaring was replaced with an old woman's teeth by [[FalseTeethTomfoolery accident.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Is very friendly and sometimes supportive to Red and Yellow aside from his supposedly brutish nature in the first two seasons.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: Violet can also be this to the larvae duo at times when protecting himself from being outnumbered like in the ''"Insectivorous Plant"'' episode.
* MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily:Violet posses a mouthful of long and sharp fangs.
* ViewerGenderConfusion: Many fans of Larva thought Violet was a girl, due to his body coloring and his high-pitched voice in an episode, but [[WordOfGod TUBA confirmed]] that Violent is a male.
* RoarBeforeBeating: Like Black, he does this a lot.
* OutOfFocus: He's in only ONE episode of Season Three.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ivory]]

----
* BewareTheNiceOnes: An very friendly stick bug that doesn't bear down when push comes to shove.
* BlowYouAway: What he was capable of controlling in the "Fighter in the wind" episode of season 3, when [[ItMakesSenseInContext he was fighting against it when the wind was somehow bullying him]] and [[BewareTheNiceOnes Ivory fought back controlling it]].
* ButtMonkey: The pain of being a skinny stick bug means having a [[SickeningCrunch spine that can snap a lot when stretching before adjusting it]], but Ivory is either zig-zagged or averted with this trope.
* NiceGuy: Very friendly and well-meaning towards everyone, and becomes great friends to [[DumbIsGood Yellow.]]
* NothingButSkinAndBones: He is ''so skinny'', he can [[NotQuiteFlight fly in the air when the wind allows him to]] for something lucky to happen to him when its {{Depending On The Writer}}s, or for comical effect.
* SignatureLaugh: Usually a wheezing laugh whenever surviving something dangerous, feeling lucky, and whenever sharing a laugh while in good spirits.

The mudskippers that live in the underground of the sand in the island Chuck lives in.

----
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}s: Their usual weirdness when making their signature {{battlecry}}, how they seem and their natural tendencies with their constant aggression towards the larvae in a capricious way can make them all out to be these kinds of characters.
* TheBigGuy: The musclebound mudskipper who is [[TheBrute brutish towards the larvae,]] the mudskippers can still be prone to slap the larvae anyway.
* {{Battlecry}}: The mudskippers have this whenever something occurs and is their signature yell in their home, as seen in the picture above.

!!Blue

Blue is a blue and swirly-eyed housefly who is one of the many acquaintances with the main characters in Larva and lives in the sewers.

----
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Although this is understandable for being a fly, but the larvae ''really'' despise him for his unintentional presence and stinky stench whenever Blue is friendly towards them.
* FilthyFun: Does this a lot in Season 1 and the larvae duo find this insufferable in spite of his intentions.
* OutOfFocus: He appeared randomly in Season 2 for a joke in "The Life of a Rat", and hasn't made an appearance other than Season 1.
* ThePollyanna: Always cheerful & happy-go-lucky no matter who hates him nor what just happened.

* WorkoutFanservice: Flexes his body (and his butt) when showing off in season 2.

!!Navy

Navy is a deep-sea fish that appears when the sewerage is sunk. He [[BaitAndSwitch originally appeared as a goldfish, and now try eating them (which encounters other fishes) and this was never explained by the way]]. When Red and Yellow threw him into a sardine can full of warm water, he changed into a deep-sea fish which is often seen whenever the sewer floods. He has a good enough appetite to eat up caterpillars and other insects.

----
* AmbiguouslyGay: Although this seems to be a case of ViewerGenderConfusion when Navy in his first appearance seemed like a female goldfish flirting with the larvae because of the appearance & high-pitched voice, but Navy revealing to be male kind of shows this.
* BaitAndSwitch: There was an unexplained backstory about Navy was a cute goldfish that got accidentally yet mistakenly placed in the wrong water. Which then made him form into an [[MonsterOfTheWeek antagonistic monster of a fish]] who antagonizes the larvae and company.
* TheDreaded: Such to the insect's delight as Navy usually antagonizes them.

!!Green

Green is a carnivorous plant [[ExtremeOmnivore which eats up anything on the ground.]] In season 1, he is an enemy to all insects because he tries to swallow the other insects when he encounters them.

* GentleGiant: Yellow raised one as a pet whom was very loyal to him

!!Bee

[[ALizardNamedLiz Bee is a hardworking bee]] with average intelligence who is usually provoked by the greedy, gluttonous larvae duo of Season 1 and [[HairTriggerTemper responds to them in fury.]]

----
* ButtMonkey: Is this whenever Red and Yellow occur to eat up the honey and trap him for their selfish, gluttonous motives.
* HairTriggerTemper: Has tons of moments when the larvae get their comeuppance for messing with him and his honey.
* VirtuousBees: This is what Bee likes doing when minding his own business and how he reasonably responds to (if short-fused) when bothered by the larvae.

!!Maroon

Maroon is a dachshund who wears a blue and yellow sweater and appeared in season 2. He usually attacks playfully when he sees moving things.

----
* BigFriendlyDog: Is this to Yellow, if wrongly and easily manipulated by Red with whistling.
* CanisMajor: Perceived as this to the larvae. Although this is obviously subverted by normal standards.
* DogStereotype: An spunky and comical dachshund when around the larvae.
* HulkingOut: His quirk because of a whistle, which turned into a werewolf when Red whistled for the dangerous command Yellow told him not to do.
* NearlyNormalAnimal: The MNA type. A seemingly normal boisterous & skilled dog with a sweater, yet he can shapeshift when turned into an anthro werewolf looking like hybrid.

!!Mite

[[ADogNamedDog Mite is a baby light-green mite]] who Yellow initially adopts, but turns out to parasitically prey on Yellow and the others. [[WhatCouldPossiblyGoWrong Then Yellow left him in a zoo]].

----
* AxCrazy: Habitually sucks the blood from literally ''any living creature''.
* CuteButCacophonic: Seems cute but whines like a lot and is a mite Yellow raises but whines a lot like a actual baby that was [[KillerRabbit killing animals as he grows up]] and was one that was [[OutOfFocus never referred to again.]]
* KillerRabbit: An literal mite that can prey on others as an infant.

The Silvers are a duo of literal [[{{Pun}} birdbrains]] who wear cut ends of fruits on their head (Yah-Silver wears the Banana peel and Uhh-Silver wears the empty Watermelon that was cut in half on top of his head) and have these since their mother placed them on since [[ForeheadOfDoom their bald heads are shiny to a dangerous degree]] and appeared in season 3.

----
* {{The Chew Toy}}s: Thanks to their antics when everyone are {{Butt Monkey}}s.
* [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass Crouching Morons, Hidden Badasses]]: They may be a pair of [[TooDumbToLive very dimwitted]] birds that can't even eat the worms that always outsmart them while in their mischief, but they can blind anyone unwittingly (and themselves) with their bald heads. And at the very least, Yah-Silver is [[BewareTheSillyOnes good at fighting Yellow with a pair of gloves on his wings]] when Yellow was trying to use his premeditated skills he [[TheParagon teaches to his friends]] when they all hid inside a glove with a hole in a thumb when hiding from Yah-Silver [[TheOnlyWayTheyWillLearn and practice moving as fingers to fight against the recurring insect's opponents in the episode "Glove".]]
* ForeheadOfDoom: Their baldness is ''so'' shiny that they can work as weapons [[BlindedByTheLight to blind others]] [[EnergyWeapon or lasers in the "Larva Rangers".]] Which is why they [[NeverBareheaded never take them off]].
* LaughablyEvil: Because of their {{Chew Toy}} status, they are usually this to the Larva when the larvae outsmart them most of the time.
* NeverBareheaded: The two never take off those pieces of fruit on their head, and [[PleaseKeepYourHatOn for good]] [[BlindedByTheLight reason]].
* PairTheDumbOnes: They are a duo that were revealed to be brothers, and they are [[TheDitz just as stupid.]]
* {{Plucky Comic Relief}}s: While failing to eat the larvae most especially, or their random moments count as well.

Prussian is a blue parrot that is a predator to the titular caterpillars and observes other friends and gives a sardonic laugh before attacking. He first appeared in season 2.

----
* AmbiguouslyGay: When he was flirting with Yellow while he swallowed a turkey whole.
* BigBad: Routinely whenever around the larvae.
* TheBadGuyWins: On occasion, he can get the better of the larvae duo when he isn't thwarted.
* BrutalBirdOfPrey: Menacing and villainous towards the larvae, and is one of the more serious antagonists in the show aside from the goofiness of other characters.
* TheCharmer: Is this when he thought Yellow was a chicken when he swallowed a fried turkey full.
* TheComicallySerious: The most deadpan antagonist against the larvae, but has comical moments.
* NoNonsenseNemesis: An wry villain to the larvae and usually antagonizes the larvae so he can eat them without toying with them.
* PsychoticSmirk: {{Played with}} in "Hi Violet!", when Violet's skills of fright didn't work on Prussian when some old lady's [[FalseTeethTomfoolery teeth gums were shot into Violet's mouth when she sneezed]] and the episode ended with Prussian giving off this expression when his prey was simply vulnerable.
* RoadRunnerVsCoyote: Along with many villainous characters that antagonize the larvae duo. Although Prussian can be the more [[BrutalBirdOfPrey seemingly subtle]] version when he waits for his prey to be vulnerable and can let them go scot-free at times when not caring about his prey.

[[YouDirtyRat A rat]] who is an enemy to all caterpillars and insects in the 2nd season. He first appeared in season 3.

----
* AffablyEvil: Usually antagonizes the caterpillars, but can be affable to his villainous brethren.
* BigBad: Is this in season 3 and in ''"Larva Island"''
* ButtMonkey: Sometimes to a ChewToy degree.
* {{Determinator}}: Never stopped at defeating the larvae in his goal to devour them and their friends with his teamwork with Frog, Prism, and the Silvers, and his return in ''Larva Island'' shows this.
* EvilIsPetty: This was lampshaded in a rather serious-driven if fast-paced way by Chuck during ''Larva Rangers 2'', when Grey used the larvae's friends as a shielding tactic before the larvae rangers were using their ultimate finishing move to make a tornado and attack Grey:
-->'''Chuck:''' You'd use precious life as a shield?
* GadgeteerGenius: Surprisingly for a homeless and starving rat, while he [[IneffectualSympatheticVillain plots and attacks the larvae with their friends and fails]], the Larva Rangers subplot shows his engineering skills up until ''Larva Island'' showing his skills in mechanics to [[SuperPersistentPredator return to the larvae]] in the following season.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: Usually loses at devouring the insects in buffoonish ways since he is starving, along with previous antagonists like the Frog, Prism, and the Silvers, who form as a group.
* ManipulativeBastard: At times. This is more evident in his return to ''Larva Island.''
* NiceMice: Obviously a downplayed and [[YouDirtyRat inverted]] version of this, he is either a JerkWithAHeartOfGold at best and a NotSoHarmlessVillain at worst. He became the massive BigBad and SuperPersistentPredator in ''Larva Island''.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: This was occasional in season 3 when forming a group in the "Life of a Rat" episode, but became this in "Larva Island"
* RoadRunnerVsCoyote: [[IneffectualSympatheticVillain Lives]] this with the insects.
* VillainDecay: Went from being a villainous character to the insects in season 3 to being [[IneffectualSympatheticVillain ineffectual]] when his inept yet miserable life was revealed in an episode.
* VillainousFriendship: An group version of this with Frog, Prism, and the Silvers.
* YouDirtyRat: Literally filthy and a scheming if inept villain who kinda looks like a mouse-like rat.

He is several times bigger than other normal frogs. He escaped from the sewer and went into the house where Red and Yellow lived in a season 2 episode. In season 3 he lives in the sewers again.

* BigBad: To the larvae.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: To Prism.
* RoadRunnerVsCoyote: With the larvae. Whether he is NotSoHarmless or not.
* SuperPersistentPredator: When he came back to eat the larvae in season 2.
* VillainDecay: When they was revealed to be on Grey's side of the story with surviving.
* VillainousFriendship: Forms one with Prism when the larvae [[DefeatMeansFriendship made them fight and start destorying them together afterwards,]] but also formed one group based version with Grey, Prism, and the Silvers.

A chameleon appears intermittently in various areas of season 2, such as the living room, bathroom, rooftop, and even bedroom; he suddenly appears and attacks Red and Yellow without reason and rather by impulse.

----
* BigBad: One of the many with the larvae.
* RoadRunnerVsCoyote: Same as the frog towards the larvae.
* SuperPersistentPredator: Along with Frog while still the BigBad to the larvae when in the apartment of season 2.
* VillainousFriendship: Made on with Frog after [[DefeatMeansFriendship battling each other]] and also joined along with Grey's team against the larvae in the "Larva Rangers" series

----
* AllAnimalsAreDogs: Seems to resemble a dog with her collar, her barking and [[DogStereotype her loyalty.]]
* MeaningfulName: Her name is based on Chuck's [[ImpliedLoveInterest love interest.]]
* MoralityPet: Usually is this whenever Chuck is furious or frustrated with being in the island.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Chuck.
* ViewerGenderConfusion: Despite the name and fandom saying Clara's female because of the given name from Chuck's ImpliedLoveInterest, the series itself never clarified if "Clara" had any other name that vaguely [[DudeLooksLikeALady mistakes Clara as female]], nor does Clara resemble any other female seal in the show.

Crabsformer is a crab that accidentally ate an unknown object that turned him into a robotic crab. He has a crush on a lady crab, however she and the other crabs are scared of his powers. This character appears in season 4.

----
* AffectionateParody: His superpower with [[{{Franchise/Transformers}} changing into an robotic crab.]]
* BruiserWithASoftCenter: He may have a short temper when mistreated or resulting from something accidental, but he has a good heart nonetheless.
* TheChewToy: On occasion (e.g Chuck using him as a tool in ''"Crabsformer 2"'' for example)
* CoolButInefficient: His gun he grows from his chest that blows bubbles instead of lasers.
* EmotionalBruiser: Had this with his love interest and not wanting everyone to be afraid of his transformation when treated as an enemy.
* GentleGiant: Tries to be this in later episodes whenever the larvae's antics don't tick him off.
* HairTriggerTemper: Has this whenever he is around the larvae to [[TheBrute a brutish degree,]] but he stops being this so his crush can feel safe around him in an episode.
* HulkingOut: Has this whenever he gets angry.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Has a violent temper with anyone that annoys, provokes, or attempts at manipulating him, but is very sympathetic, good-natured, forbearing and a pleasant crab.
* MeaningfulName: His name is based on his ability to transform into a robotic crab like the ''{{Franchise/Transformers}}''.

* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}; An literal [[{{Pun}} loony]] who keeps a bird float as his CompanionCube and can be the strange one on several occasions.
* CompanionCube: An bird float he treats like a {{love interest}}.
* FunPersonified: Randomly on occasion.
* NiceGuy: An nice bird unless something happens to his bird-float or is chasing the larvae.
* PluckyComicRelief: Can have some comical situations.
* RoadRunnerVsCoyote: An rather ''playful'' or even random version of this towards the larvae.

Chuck is a castaway that was stranded on a island and was trying to do anything he can to go back to New York City when he was casted away by accident.

----
* CuteAndPsycho: Seems like one when he seems innocent and some future episodes show his more [[TheMentallyDisturbed insane side]] towards the larvae while [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption failing to get out of the island or is still stranded because of them.]]
* BornUnlucky: Not the luckiest guy in the show.
* ButtMonkey: While the insect and other characters ''are'' this to only a {{slapstick}}y degree, most of them aren't [[BornUnlucky as unfortunate as Chuck is since he needed to survive on a pretty small island while eating candy and seaweed as food with nobody visiting him when he is seen asking for help on occasion.]] Everything ''quite literally'' often never goes right for Chuck when planning his way home and also results from [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption this]] when the titular larvae get in his way.
* DrivenToMadness: Usually has these themes when around the larvae when trying to build his boat or trying to get rid of them because of failing so much.
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: His current failures with going home or getting rid of the larvae so he does get any more setbacks from them as his ineptitude would make us easily sympathize with him more, he is still skilled, however.
* IronButtMonkey: He was the only human in the show who was shown to have some [[NighInvulnerability invulnerability]] with slapstick disasters/mayhem that occurred around the island.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] towards the larvae, while he can be reasonably grumpy, short-fused, cruel, and vengeful when their mischief can be quite an annoyance and a literal hindrance for him (plus he did trying manipulating Crabsformer for his own benefits, [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption while it obviously backfired]]). Chuck is usually a NiceGuy and is incredibly sympathetic towards others (yes, even the larvae in the episode ''"Change".'' For better or for worse)
* TheKlutz: While a massive ButtMonkey overall, he can have some clumsy {{Epic Fail}}s, some stumbles when unaware, minor slips, or can have some poor coordination at times due to how much stuff lying around, how small the whole island is and how {{slapstick}}-prone he usually is.
* LargeHam: He's quite expressive with his feelings and has moments of enthusiasm.
* OnlySaneMan: How he sees himself around the larvae duo, whether if he was right about their mischievous foolery and troublesome mischief, or if it was not actually the case in some instances.
* PluckyComicRelief: Can be prone to showing tons of buffoonery whether it features a [[WesternAnimation/WileECoyoteAndTheRoadrunner Wile E. Coyote]]-styled setting with trapping the larvae duo in the ''"A Lucky Day"'' episode, for example, having random moments with being buffoonish because of his ButtMonkey status, or is this when he usually has many moments of these when it results from the AmusingInjuries that are inflicted onto him or onto himself.
* RoadRunnerVsCoyote: Some episodes where he is trying to get rid of the larvae in devious ways ssuch as the ''"Lucky Day"'' episode being a prime example of this.
* SkilledButNaive: He was shown to have tons of experience in high school when fighting off several enemies of his or surviving with the larvae, but is genuinely and understandably naive while being stranded on an island with limited resources ''no-less.''
* ThrowTheDogABone: At the end of season 5, he finally gets to go back to New York City in the episode ''"Drift"''.
