!You

[[folder:You (Default name: Yuki)]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/htdmg_player.PNG]]
You are an avid fan of Magic Girls, particularly ''Cutie Star''. Having opened the latest manga volume, you spent a whole summer reading it. Hikari, your childhood friend, then calls you announcing that you will be attending the Magic Academy together with her. At first, you thought that she recommended you to the board out of the goodness of her heart, but in reality, the officials found that you have a magic potential in your own right.
\
[[spoiler:In reality, the protagonist is a normal human being who ended up in a coma following a traffic accident. The whole world as they see it is a simulation designed to help them survive the coma, and their obsession with magical girls led to the simulation being perceived this way.]]
----
* {{Determinator}}: No matter how bleak the situation is, the player never gives up training in the school. [[spoiler:Which is a problem to 54T0M1, who needs them to let go to wake up in the real world.]]
* AnIcePerson: Probably; while the knocked cup froze in place, the water that's about to be spilled freezes literally into solid, crystal ice.
* IfItsYouItsOkay: [[spoiler:When Shin confesses to you, he asks whether you'd make an exception to him when you are otherwise attracted to only girls. Sadly, you'll never get the chance to answer back.]]
* LastMinuteHookup: [[spoiler:While the protagonist has been entertaining their interest in Satomi, the only romantic development that happens between them is at the final scene of the game should the player choose the mystery ending.]]
* MadnessMantra: [[spoiler:Shortly after a named character's death, the protagonist's inner monologue fixates on them for at least two in-game days. "Miss Yoshida is still crucified on the wall." "Shin died." "Disappointed."]]
* MagicalGirl: Subverted, GenderFlipped or otherwise. [[spoiler:In the end, although you could use magic to an extent, you never develop the ability to transform.]]
* SanitySlippage: [[spoiler:It's not unusual to be shaken up after witnessing a death. But after the next few deaths, the protagonist's perception also distorts as they perceive surrounding dialogue to be as fixated as they are. When the rest of the main cast gets killed off one by one, the protagonist really loses their sanity as their inner monologue turns into sentence fragments for days on end.]]
* TheOneGuy: If you choose to play as a boy, you'll be the only male student in the entire school, let alone within your social circle.
* TimeStandsStill: The player's only show of magic involves stopping a glass from spilling over.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Gives tour to Noriko around the school, [[spoiler:not knowing she is part of the Cult of 9 trying to reap magical girls. However, that turns moot when 54T0M1 reveals herself to be pulling the strings.]]
* WindsOfDestinyChange: If your Magic grade is high enough, you are more likely to win an arcade prize.

* HealingHands: Her power as a magical girl.
* LikeBrotherAndSister: Her relation to the player is comparable to that of siblings.
* LoyalAnimalCompanion: PlayedWith. She learned summon magic to have an animal companion a magical girl usually has. However, as her mother is allergic to dogs, she has to leave her summoned animal with the player instead.

Another freshman whom the player bumped into on the first day of school.
----
* CastingAShadow: Her attacks as a magical girl revolve around the power of darkness.

* UnfortunateCharacterDesign: A harsh InUniverse example. Yui's magical girl outfit is designed after a demon, but since it's established earlier that the outfit is a manifestation of the wearer's soul, it doesn't reflect well on her. [[spoiler:Not helping the case is that she might've been involved in a recent demon summoning and murder within the school ground.]]
