6[[folder:Elesis Sieghart]]
7[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elesis_1.png]]
8 [[caption-width-right:350:Kanavan's Ruby Knight.]]
9
10A Kanavan Knight trained by her father, Elesis joins the Grand Chase after her father disappears while attempting to locate Kaze'aze. At first she is rather rash and [[HotBlooded hot-blooded]], but winds up taking up the role of leader following the Knight Master's departure.
11
12'''Her four jobs are the following:''' Knight, Spearman, Swordmaster and Savior.
13----
14* ActionGirl: The first of several others.
15* BadassLongcoat: The outfit for her 4th class has her wearing one.
16* BoringButPractical: Knight's basic combo can infinitely hitstun dungeon mobs by doing z,z,z,z [Pause] on repeat. Combined with her ability to roll mid combo to re-position and get some invulnerability frames in case the enemy goes [[ImmuneToFlinching Super Armor]]; and a skilled Elesis can solo most PvE content without even taking damage.
17* {{BFS}}: As a Swordmaster, she wields the Giant Sword, which is twice her height and quite broad.
18* BraidsOfAction: Her 1st job features one that loops around, and she's the close-combat character of the original trio.
19* CoolSword: Every class sans Spearman features a nice sword to swing around.
20* DualWielding: As a Savior, her 4th class, she a pair of swords called Ssanggeom.
21* DemotedToExtra: Sieghart and Zero seem to have taken the role of team tank away from her.
22** Seighart also seems to have taken the role as leader from her in the story. In game, most of her unique attributes have now been copied by other characters.
23* FieryRedhead
24* HeroesPreferSwords: At least in her 1st, 3rd and 4th job classes.
25* GuestFighter: [[spoiler:An alternate universe version of her appears in ''{{VideoGame/Elsword}}''.]]
26* HotBlooded: She's not just a close-combat specialist, she ''likes'' intense battles.
27* {{Jerkass}}: Blunt to a fault, and often gets into fights with Arme, to Lire's exasperation.
28* LeeroyJenkins: At least in the early parts of the story.
29* LightningBruiser: When using three out of her four jobs (for now), Elesis can be one of the fastest characters in-game if you pace and time her dashes correctly - yes, even her normally-thought-slow Sword Master job. And then she becomes '''even faster''' with her 4th-level special as Knight.
30* PrecisionFStrike: At least twice in the story, though it is censored.
31* TheRival: For Arme, who she gets into arguments with during the cutscenes.
32* ShoutOut: Whenever Elesis uses her Knight's 4th skill, Bravery, for a few seconds the 3rd hit of her basic combo shoots [[{{SwordBeam}} Sword Beams]] across the map and her dash becomes a full-fledged [[{{FlashStep}} Flash Step]]. Looks like she had some swordmanship lessons from [[{{Anime/Bleach}} Ichigo.]].
33* StoneWall: Her stat distribution sacrifices attack power for defense, leaving her with some of the lowest damage potential of any character. And she does not gain skills that subvert this until she hits Level 51 and acquires Taunt. Past that, Elesis has among the most ways to evade death of all characters. Braver reduces all damage to 1 during it's duration; Hyper Armor makes Elesis impossible to knock down for 20 seconds; and thus impossible to strike a killing blow to; and she can use a combat roll after any of her basic attacks except a jump attack which gives her invulnerability frames and lets her get behind foes. Used correctly, Elesis is near untouchable in dungeons and a nightmare to kill in [[PlayerVersusPlayer PvP]]; despite not having a healing ability like Zero.
34* {{Tomboy}}: One her weaknesses is dresses, suggesting she's not too keen on girlier things.
35* TomboyishPonytail: Her character art for her classes features one, except for Swordmaster, who lets it down. Elesis herself is quite brash in personality.
36[[/folder]]
37
38[[folder:Lire Eryuell]]
39[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lire_1.png]]
40 [[caption-width-right:350:Eryuell Island's peace-loving Archer.]]
41
42Hailing from Eryuell Island, Lire is a young member of the Elven Corps who has joined the Grand Chase on the behalf of her elven brethren. Despite being the same age as her teammates Elesis and Arme, Lire is a great deal more rational and mature than the two, and often has to mediate whenever they argue.
43
44'''Her four jobs are the following:''' Archer, Crossbowman, Arch Ranger and Nova.
45----
46* ApologeticAttacker: "I was going to take it easy, but, oh well!"
47* BoomHeadshot: With luck, a hit from her skills can drop your HP to zero, much like Lass' Fatal Fury Tempest.
48* CompositeCharacter: Her 4th job (Nova) is essentially an amalgamation of all her previous jobs into one.
49%%* CloserToEarth
50* DualWielding: A pair of small gun-like crossbows.
51* ElvesVersusDwarves: Being an Elf; her presence in the Chase did not exactly help with diplomacy with the Dwarves of Archemedia, who are at war with the Dark Elves.
52* GlassCannon: She cannot take a hit as well as, say, Elesis, but she hits like an eighteen-wheeler dropped from Mount Everest.
53* GunsAkimbo: Well, ''crossbows'' akimbo, but it has the same effect. Crowssbowman wields dual crossbows that function like bowguns.
54* TheGunslinger: Her Crossbowman job lets her move like this.
55* TheHeart: The most rational of the trio, and is often the voice of reason that keeps the team together.
56* ImprobableUseOfAWeapon: As Arch Ranger, she can whip her great bow like a bludgeon that launches enemies upwards.
57* KickChick: Not as showy as Amy, but she does show off some kicking skills as Crossbowman and Nova.
58* MoreDakka: as Crossbowman.
59* OnlySaneMan: Often has to get in the middle of Elesis and Arme arguing.
60%%* OurElvesAreDifferent
61* PrecisionFStrike: When she sees Amy for the first time (back in season 3).
62%%* RainOfArrows
63* TrickArrow: Many of her skills allow her to shoot arrows loaded with magic, or make them loop around in zany ways.
64* WaveMotionGun: Her revamped Level 3 special as Crossbowman. Get enough foes in a line and you can easily mow them down in one shot.
65* WeaksauceWeakness: Arrow Defense is a potential buff that mobs can gain, which reduces all projectile-based damage taken from the front by 90% and reduces hitstun significantly. In Champion Mode; all mobs; including the boss, have three mods, with a pretty good chance of rolling Arrow Defense. Arrow Defense basically *only* effects Lire (And a few of Arme's projectiles; but she has other ranged attacks which are not blocked), and makes her one of the absolute worst characters for soloing Champion-Mode dungeons because mobs will be aggroing, and thus facing you, stopping you from attacking them from behind to bypass Arrow Defense.
66[[/folder]]
67
68[[folder:Arme Glenstid]]
69[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arme_1.png]]
70 [[caption-width-right:350:Serdin's talented Violet Mage.]]
71
72Child prodigy member of the Violet Magic Guild, the cheerful Arme is always on the lookout for new magic she can learn, despite having already mastered the White and Black varieties. Upon learning of the Queen of Darkness's magical might, Arme joins the Grand Chase in hopes of encountering the dark queen (and possibly picking up a few new spells along the way).
73
74'''Her four jobs are the following:''' Magician, Combat Alchemist, Warlock and Battle Mage.
75----
76* BlackAndWhiteMagic: Her main gimmick. Can switch between 2 types of spell during battle.
77* BlackMagicianGirl
78* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Often thinks of learning more magic in the face of danger.
79* DifficultButAwesome: Combat Alchemist doesn't have as many ranged options, putting her in the face of danger more than her other classes. What she makes up for it though, is utility, having invisible mines that can trip up someone's momentum, toxic mist that does damage over time, and the ability to give her already useful Saver shields to her allies.
80* ElementalPowers: Mostly of Fire and Lightning; but there are some Ice, Wind and even Light and Darkness skills thrown in. Earth is absent, despite being in the BackStory for Warlock.
81* GenkiGirl
82* GlassCannon: Has one of the highest attack stats, but extremely poor defense and her teleportation is rather slow.
83* {{Kawaiiko}}: "Aren't I cuuuute~?"
84* MadBomber: As Combat Alchemist.
85* PainfullySlowprojectile: Prior to getting a melee combo, she could only conjure slow-moving Magic Circles that travel across the field. Said circles, however, does multiple hits by the frames, potentially pushing enemies by hitstun.
86* RegeneratingMana: She can generate mana when idle, giving her an extra means to charge her spells out of combat.
87* TheRival: To Elesis.
88%% * TokenMiniMoe
89* SerialEscalation: The Magician's 3rd skill summons [[DeathFromAbove a meteor storm that hails through the screen and causes massive damage, if not outright kills everyone]], and was the the terror of [[PlayerVersusPlayer PvP]] back in season 1. Cue Arme getting her 4th job, Battle Mage. One of her 3rd skills, Deep Impact, is a swarm of ''even bigger'' meteors that pretty much obliterates everything in line of sight. And now, there's the Battle Mage's 4th skill, aptly named [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin The End]].
90* SquishyWizard: Downplayed in practice, actually. Though she has the squishy endurance of one, she has some defensive options that make her far sturdier than she appears. Mage has Saver and Protection of Fire, which generates a shield that protects her for one hit. Alchemist, while cannot shield herself, can self-heal with Cure to last longer in battle. Warlock is a StoneWall with her 2 bar skill "Fire Ring" giving her a massive defense buff. The only class she has that is an out-and-out SquishyWizard is Battle Mage, whom lacks any of said defensive options.
91* StatusBuff: Athena's Sword gives the team a 50% damage boost.
92* SummonMagic: As Warlock, she has formed contracts with spirits to be able to utilize their power. Many of her moves call the spirits to aid her.
93* {{Teleportation}}: She has no dash, but this instead, presented more like a FlashStep. She's invulnerable for the duration and can teleport ''up and down'' when unlocked, but the travel distance is rather short.
94[[/folder]]
95
96[[folder:Lass Isolet]]
97[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lass_1_4.png]]
98 [[caption-width-right:350:The Thief that cuts through the darkness.]]
99
100Member (and later leader) of the Silver Cross guild of assassins, Lass is the former human host of the Queen of Darkness, Kaze'Aaze. Upon her defeat, the newly-freed Lass joins the Chase to atone for his crimes.
101
102'''His four jobs are the following:''' Thief, Assassin / Mercenary, Dark Assassin and Evan Striper / Striker / Slasher.
103----
104* TheAtoner: Joins the Chase due to being possessed by Kaze'aze.
105* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler: Lass was part of the Nightmare Circus; mistreated by the Ringmaster due to his heritage. Kaze'Aze freed him at some point and used his daemonic ancestry to possess him. Then Lass came back and burned down the circus in revenge when he found it again.]]
106* DeathOrGloryAttack: Fatal Fury Tempest, at least in its first iteration. Now, it's a OneHitKill if you use it as a counter-attack.
107* DemonicPossession: He is possessed by Kaze'aze when you first run into him.
108* DualWielding: As Thief and Dark Assassin -- dual daggers and claws.
109* FragileSpeedster: Moves really fast, hits really hard, but has about as much defense as SquishyWizard Arme.
110* GenderBlenderName: Kinda obvious -- but what does the word Lass mean? Turns out Lass's name, in fact, is an Arabic translation of "Thief", which is read as "Lass". Guess what his 1st job is...
111* HalfHumanHybrid: Half Human; Half Daemon
112* IaijutsuPractitioner: As Slasher.
113* ImprobableAge: Becomes leader of the Silver Cross Assassins' Guild when he ascends to a Slasher.
114* KatanasAreJustBetter: His 4th job weapon.
115* LaserBlade: '''Blade Spirit!'''
116* {{Ninja}}:
117** As Thief, he moves like one. The Skill Tree buffs make this a lot more blatant, as well as the armor set that came with its release.
118** While his Assassin outfit does have ninja vibes, his Striker / Slasher outfit has him looking like someone out of the ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'' universe, complete with forehead protector.
119* OohMeAccentsSlipping: Lass kinda sounds Australian sometimes, and his 4th job taunt has him sound like Film/AustinPowers with the same Aussie accent.
120* SmugSnake: Even if he is on '''your''' side, his taunts and quotes have him sound rather smug.
121* SpamAttack: Dark Assassin's play style revolves around hitting opponents repeatedly with jump attacks.
122* SummonMagic: Dark Memories has him summon a spectre of Jin Kaze'aze.
123* VariableLengthChain: As Assassin, his level 2 MP special has him attack with the chain around his arm.
124* WolverineClaws: As Dark Assassin.
125* YoungerThanTheyLook: Or sound, rather. He's apparently around 13, but could EASILY be mistaken for much older by the sound of his voice. His looks don't exactly give it away.
126* YearsTooEarly: "You're one hundred years too early to fight me". Says this verbatim as his winning (as Thief and Dark Assassin) or taunting (as Slasher) quotes.
127[[/folder]]
128
129[[folder:Ryan Woodguard]]
130[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ryan_1.png]]
131 [[caption-width-right:350:The protector of the forest.]]
132
133Protector of the Elven Forest, he is blessed by Mother Nature with the ability to transform into a multitude of beasts. Though fierce and fiery, he cares deeply for his loved ones.
134
135'''His four jobs are the following:''' Druid, Sentinel, Viken and Xenocider / Vanquisher / Avenger.
136----
137* BifurcatedWeapon: Xenocider's weapon are a pair of short spears called Storm Blades. When joined together, it makes a Storm Pike.
138* DualWielding: Avenger.
139* BatterUp: His Skill Tree ChargedAttack. When fully-charged turns Ryan into a HomeRunHitter.
140* ConfusionFu: Fighting a good Vanquisher is quite a task; since not only can he switch between two stances with very different skill sets, but he can also transform into either Wolf or Magnus Dan, and Nephilim. Counting the transformations themselves, Vanquisher effectively can have 13 skills at the same time, far more than any other character. [7 basic skills; 2 transformations, Neph's punch and Magnus' 3 skills] This is upped to 17 in dungeons due to Weapon Change.
141* DoubleWeapon: As Sentinel.
142* {{Irony}}: Ryan claims to protect the forest; yet his weapon of choice is a giant Axe; which is associated with cutting down trees. Ryan's Jade Hook and Scythe are not much better, although his Storm Blades are not cutting instruments.
143* MakeMeWannaShout: One of his skills has him using this, it confuses opponents in [=PvP=].
144* NatureHero: His first job is Druid, and he has a lot of nature-related magic at his disposal.
145* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Ryan can transform into Wolf, Nephilim, and Magnus Dan forms.
146* WhyWontYouDie: Ryan can invoke this effect in team [=PvP=] with Resurrection. In addition; he can have a 50% chance of resurrecting himself on death due to a self-buff skill [On a long cooldown] and Druid has temporary invulnerability. Throw in his healing totems and healing attacks from Druid for good measure, and the fact that his shapeshifting; due to changing his HP total, can effectively heal him when used at low HP.
147* WolfMan: Transforms into a wolf as one of his skills.
148[[/folder]]
149
150[[folder:Ronan Erudon]]
151[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ronanpose_7.png]]
152 [[caption-width-right:350:Kanavan's Royal Guard master.]]
153
154Scion of Erudon, a family of Magic Knights in Kanavan. Was a Royal Guard Master protecting the Kanavan Royal Family before joining the Chase after defeating Gaikoz.
155
156'''His four jobs are the following:''' Magic Knight, Dragon Knight, Aegis Knight and Abyss Knight.
157----
158* BewareTheNiceOnes: Despite generally being level-headed and a foil to Elesis' aggressive nature, making Ronan angry will result in him, in no short order; announcing he will kill you, and following up on it. The only reason Dahlia wasn't killed by Ronan was Ashtaroth did it first.
159* {{BFS}}: The revamp gives him the largest in the game as a temporary buff.
160* ChewingTheScenery:
161** Justice will never die!
162** '''IT'S MY VICTORY!'''
163* CursedItem: The Abyss Knight's Tyrfing is a legendary weapon among the Erudon family, but it's also dangerous to wield due to its curse. It utilizes the wielder's lifespan to amplify their power when at their weakest, necessitating special gloves to negate the curse and safely wield it.
164* DifficultButAwesome: No built-in evasion; no good healing or survival skill, and he's melee. This makes Ronan one of the hardest characters to use in later dungeons, but his damage output when used right is very high, especially in tandem with his buffing skills.
165* DualWielding: The weapon on one hand and shield / spells on the other variant.
166* InTheBlood: [[spoiler: Kaze'Aze is actually Ronan's ancestor, Karina Erudon, who betrayed Kanavan and started the war with Serdin. She has some extent of influence over Ronan, although this is mainly backstory.
167* JackOfAllTrades: He's the easiest character to acquire and perhaps the most newbie-friendly of all characters, because he can take on all of the roles in-game well: decent damage, can buff, and has a projectile attack.
168* LargeHam: His quotes make him come off as this.
169* MagicKnight: The Erudon family is known for being this, and Ronan is no exception. It's even the name of his first job.
170* StatusBuff: Holy Bless, Holy Inferno and Magic Defense.
171* SummonMagic: Arc Burst, Tempest Slayer and Heaven's Guardian.
172* ThemeNaming: All of Ronan's job class names have the word '''Knight''' in them.
173[[/folder]]
174
175[[folder:Amy Plie]]
176[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amy_35.png]]
177 [[caption-width-right:350:Silver Land's popular idol.]]
178
179Oracle and Dancer from the Xenia Continent. Joins the Chase in the Temple of Origins.
180
181'''Her four jobs are the following:''' Dancer, Muse, Siren and Sistina / Starlet.
182----
183* CuteClumsyGirl: Frequently trips and falls during her special moves.
184* DanceBattler: Of course! It's in her first job's description.
185* GenkiGirl
186* GirlishPigtails
187* GirlyBruiser: Just because she's a cute dancer, that doesn't mean she can't get her hands dirty in close combat.
188* GrievousHarmWithABody: She conjures up a random male character during two of her special moves and either kicks or tosses them away, damaging the opponent.
189* HeliumSpeech: To the point that some of her spoken lines are nigh incomprehensible.
190* HyperspaceArsenal: Sistina summons a wide variety of weapons from her bag.
191* InstrumentOfMurder: As Muse. She can slap enemies around with her violin.
192* JackOfAllTrades: Amy is a well-rounded fighter. All of her jobs can double jump, she is rather fast, she doles out passable damage, she buffs allies, and is brilliant defensively with her ranged attacks.
193* {{Kawaiiko}}: "You KNOW I'm cute!"
194* KickChick: Some of Amy's first job combo moves and special moves involve kicking the crap out of the opposition.
195* KickingAssInAllHerFinery: She's by far the girliest and most glamorous of them, but even the toughest male players were scrambling to acquire her because of her combat prowess.
196* LethalJokeCharacter: Amy is usually comic relief (not helped by the squeaky voice), but she kicks some '''SERIOUS''' ass.
197* MakeMeWannaShout: As a Siren, she can scream into her kleiophone to inflict confusion on her enemies.
198* MoreDakka: Sistina's special air attack has her shooting a machine gun from her bag.
199* MusicalAssassin: Muse and Siren, both of which utilize music as a means to attack. The Muse conjures up magical music notes with a violin, while the Siren utilizes her voice amplified by a kleiophone to produce sound waves.
200* RapidFireFisticuffs: '''Shy Shy Punch!''', her fourth job grab.
201* StatusBuff: Her various dances provide these. One even revives freshly fallen comrades.
202* StanceSystem: She has a performance and fighting mode for each of her classes. Not only do they swap out her available skills akin to Arme's Black and White magic, it changes up her combos.
203%%* TheCassandra
204* TheChosenOne: An Oracle of the Gods of Xenia.
205%%* ThePollyanna
206[[/folder]]
207
208[[folder:Jin Kaien]]
209[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jin_8.png]]
210 [[caption-width-right:350:Silver Knight's passionate Fighter.]]
211
212Lone surviving member of the Silver Knights. Joined the Chase in their journey through the Silver Land.
213
214'''His four jobs are the following:''' Fighter, Champion / Shisa, Asura, Emperor / Rama / Deva.
215----
216* ActionCommands: Burning Destroyer of Heaven
217* CripplingOverspecialization: Asura is very, '''very''' good in [=PvP=]. In dungeons? Not so much.
218* CallingYourAttacks
219* HotBlooded
220* {{Fanboy}}: To Amy.
221* KamehameHadoken: Subjugation of Heaven and Earth, Dragon Squall and Fist of 10k Hells, if not leveled. He can also charge one in Rama's 4th bar.
222* LauncherMove: Champion and Asura get a significant increase to their damage potential when juggling enemies.
223* MeaningfulName / ThemeNaming: (in GCPH) Fighter, Champion, Asura, Deva
224* RedOniBlueOni: Red, to Asin's Blue.
225* ReligiousBruiser: Silver Land used to be part of Xenia until it broke away. In addition, Jin's attacks or jobs have religious references, most notably Rama, but also Asura.
226* SphereOfDestruction: Fist of 10k Hells, Burning Glow, White Monkey Washing Face, and Subjugation of Heaven and Earth.
227%%* SupernaturalMartialArts
228* UnnecessaryCombatRoll: To the point when two Jin players fight it out in [=PvP=], anyone watching will probably want them to get on with it.
229[[/folder]]
230
231[[folder:Ercnard Sieghart]]
232[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sieg_1_0.png]]
233 [[caption-width-right:350:Kanavan's master Gladiator.]]
234
235Legendary Master Gladiator of Kanavan a long time ago and was presumed dead after going to a journey. He was granted Immortality by the Highlander Gods.
236
237'''His four jobs are the following:''' Gladiator, Warlord, Ares, Prime Knight.
238
239* ActionCommands: As Prime Knight, the Just Frame feature.
240* TheBerserker: Activating his Rage Meter makes him stronger, faster and upgrades his special moves. Most players use the variant where he empties the gauge to heal HP, though.
241* {{BFS}}: Prime Knight's Soluna.
242%% * BifurcatedWeapon: As Prime Knight.
243* CoatOverTheShoulder: As Gladiator.
244* DifficultButAwesome: As Prime Knight. Getting the hang of timing those Just Frame attacks and mixing them up in your combat style will make you a formidable presence in both [=PVM=] and [=PVP=].
245* DualWielding: Warlord, Ares/Duelist, and Prime Knight... somewhat.
246* EmbarrassingFirstName: Ercnard. Sieghart absolutely ''hates'' it.
247%% * {{Jerkass}}
248* {{Immortality}}: Although not in-game, Seighart is immortal, at least of the timeless variety, in the story due to being a Highlander. Kounat's Collapse showed Highlanders can die, however, so he's not completely immortal.
249* ImplacableMan: '''Mocking Blade.''' The skill allows him to NoSell attacks while emitting an aura around him that damages foes.
250* MakeMeWannaShout: Soul Extinction has him yell out while blasting all enemies on the map in midair. Not very useful for bosses, but often takes out mooks with ease.
251* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: 600 years old.
252* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: A male version of Elesis. Even his weapons are similar. [A sword; a Spear; Two Swords and a BFS]
253* SwordBeam: Sword Boomerang.
254* TooManyBelts: As Prime Knight.
255* UnstoppableRage: Both a gameplay mechanic in his Rage Meter and shown in-story in Kounat's Collapse when Astaroth presses his buttons too hard.
256[[/folder]]
257
258[[folder:Mari Ming Onette]]
259[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mari_17.png]]
260 [[caption-width-right:350:The last survivor of Kounat.]]
261
262Last remaining survivor from an ancient kingdom once known as Kounat, searching for her missing memories.
263
264'''Her four jobs are the following:''' Rune Caster / Ether Tech, Gunslinger, Polaris and La Geas.
265
266* ActionCommands: To summon her [[AttackDrone WDW System]], orbs, machines...
267* AnIcePerson: Complementing her personality, her fourth job's Freeze Tempest and Core Break specials involve freezing opponents.
268* AttackDrone: Her WDW System, which is a summoned weapon for her first two jobs and her default weapon in her fourth job.
269%%* EmotionlessGirl
270* IdiotHair: Her basic job Rune Caster shows this one.
271* LastOfHerKind: The last remaining survivor from the ancient kingdom Kounat.
272* MarkOfTheSupernatural: Her right eye is blue, while her left eye is red. It's a hint that she's the last remaining survivor from an ancient kingdom.
273* MeaningfulName: Mari (Ming) Onette.
274* TheQuietOne: She doesn't talk much.
275* ReiAyanamiExpy: Blue hair? Check. Red eye? Check. Mystical origins? Check. Stoic and quiet demeanor? Check.
276* RobotBuddy: KORMET in her third job. You can summon it using the WDW system and her 4th MP skill.
277* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Mari is from the Royal Family of Kounat.
278%% * TheGunslinger: Her 2nd job.
279* ShockAndAwe: If she's not using ice magic, her magitech spells often involve electric effects, such as shocking opponents.
280%% * ShyBlueHairedGirl
281%% * TheStoic
282* SugarAndIcePersonality: She's so cold, distant and quiet that she's often mistaken for an emotionless doll incapable of speech. Yet, she can act discreetly nicely for the people who she is interested in or those she likes.
283* WaveMotionGun: Her second 4th MP skill as Rune Caster: a combination of her runes and WDW system. Her 4th MP skill as Geas involves her firing upward.
284[[/folder]]

287[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dio_33.png]]
288 [[caption-width-right:350:Burning Canyon's strongest Stygian.]]
289
290Leader of the Burning Canyon clan of Asmodians, Dio is brought to the world of ''Grand Chase'' by the dimensional distortions that plague it. He mounts a one-man quest to find and seal these distortions, and grudgingly joins the Chase when he realizes his task will be easier as part of a group.
291
292'''His four jobs are the following:''' Stygian, Drakar, Leviathan, Diablos/Dusk Bringer
293----
294* BlownAcrossTheRoom: Faraway.
295* HyperspaceArsenal: A sword, a scythe, a spectral hand, a lance, balls of energy, a totem of energy, a spiked coffin, and a sphere filled with drills... [[SerialEscalation and that's just for his first two jobs]].
296* LifeDrain: Necrotic can do one or both if you upgrade it with the Devil Force passives.
297* NotQuiteFlight: His sweeping midair attack.
298* SinisterScythe: The Soul Reaver weapon takes this form.
299* SphereOfDestruction: Black Space, Chaotic Spark, and Evil Eddy. Necrotic is a half-spherical version.
300%% * TeleportSpam
301* ThemeNaming: His Devil Force tree under the Duskbringer / Diablos job are upgrades to his previous job's skills: these upgrades are all named from the Circles of Hell in Dante's Inferno.
302* ThisIsADrill: Onrush has him using the Infernal Spear with energy swirling around it as a drill would. The results are often high damage to enemies.
303* WingedHumanoid / WingsDoNothing: He stretches his wings during his idle animation and during his Black Space special move. As Drakar, he can use his wings in a limited fashion for a sweeping midair attack, and as Leviathan, his wings can shoot energy bolts as a skill and turn into a drill for one of his special moves.
304** Now subverted, as with Diablos, Dio's idle animation gives him various buffs.
305** Diablos' Weapon Force has him using his wings a lot more.
306* WhyWontYouDie: Life Keep lets him 'store' HP for use when he is killed, resurrecting him.
307* YouWillNotEvadeMe: Tenacious Hold homes in on enemies.

312 [[caption-width-right:350:Wielder of the Grandark.]]
313
314Much of his past is shrouded in mystery. What we do know is that he may be a relic of Kounat, given the Grandark and tasked to wander the world. He runs into the Chase in Xenia and joins forces with them presumably after that.
315
316'''His four jobs so far are the following:''' Wanderer, Seeker, Banisher/Vanisher, Advancer
317----
318* ArtificialHuman: Possibly a construct of ancient Kounat.
319* {{BFS}}: The Grandark, to the point where Zero has to change stances to wield it.
320* ElementalPowers: His Force projectiles.
321* EmpathicWeapon: The Grandark -- it sometimes possesses Zero if his will to fight weakens.
322* {{Expy}}: His first job is largely 'slower Elesis' down to his [[SpecialAttack Special Attacks]]. However; since his teacher in swordplay is Elesis' father; this is a JustifiedTrope. Especially as he develops his own fighting style more as he increases his own powers and gets more used to Grandark.
323* EyepatchOfPower: More like ''blindfold'', but the thought remains.
324* FightingFromTheInside: Zero has to stay strong and focused; else Grandark will consume him and his mind. Vanisher has Zero succumbing to this after meting his adversary; Duel; while Advancer has Zero moving past this weakness and working with Grandark better. This is mostly shown in 'Grandark Possession' mode; and his start/ending quotes; where he asserts he is Zero. Strangely; Grandark's possession seems to be against Grandark's will, as he urges Zero to get stronger so he doesn't consume him.
325* LifeDrain / ManaDrain: Loss and Orchid.
326* LivingWeapon: The Grandark.
327%% * MyHeroZero: Zero.
328* OneHitKill: If you reflect damage with Increase:Offense on an instant-kill attack, you will reflect infinite damage and OneHitKill the boss. The current highest level boss in the game happens to have a OneHitKill attack that can be triggered as well...
329* SpikesOfDoom: Bleeding Gash.
330* StatusBuff: He can buff himself depending on his skill selection and his combat stances.
331* StoneWall: When the Grandark is held, Zero is immune to both flinching and knockdown, to the point that he can completely tank an Onrush and escape standing up, but with his HP completely depleted.
332* SwordBeam: Grand X and Abyss.

339Like Dio, she hails from the same world as he does. His Burning Canyon clan is a rival to her Crimson River clan. Upon learning that Dio joined the Chase, she follows in pursuit and soon joins the Chase to make sure her rival doesn't try anything funny.
340
341'''Her four jobs are the following:''' Summoner, Darkbringer / Harbringer, Evoker/Darkness Fall, Dark Origin/Empress of Darkness
342----
343* BattleButler: Has a personal butler named Jeeves, who can be summoned to pummel enemies in close range.
344%%* CuteMonsterGirl
345* DevelopersForesight: When you summon Jeeves out to fight for you and then use a skill like "Jeeves Etiquette" or "Jeeves Power Bomb", those "skill" Jeeves are replaced with an impostor wearing a bag over his head with a crude drawing of Jeeves face. Ley surmises that it might be Alfred, one of Dio's butlers.
346* FriendlyRivalry: With Dio.
347* MsFanservice: Her default outfits often display this.
348* PowerFloats: She levitates when moving around in lieu of walking.
349* RichBitch: Has the mannerisms down to a "T", what with being a Crimson River noblewoman.
350* %% TheRival: To Dio.

365* BigDamnHeroes: Rufus saves the Chase from the undead Ringmaster in Nightmare Circus by using his powers to send him to Hell.
366* BountyHunter: Hunts the souls of those who have evaded or escaped their fate in Hell.
367* DualWielding: His twin pistol set, Eyeteeth.
368* GatlingGood: His fourth job has a minigun, Soul Arbiter.
369* GunsAkimbo: Wields them this way during some skills and special moves.

371* IWasJustPassingThrough: One-shots Ziddler and leaves in the Nightmare Circus event dungeon.
372* LongLostSibling: He's one to Lass.

387* BloodMagic: In her "dark" path, Rin can make stalagmites of blood erupt from the ground after her dash attack and even create a barrier entirely made of blood.
388* BlowYouAway
389* CastFromHitPoints: "Dark" Rin can sacrifice HP to buff her attack power for a while.
390* CuteClumsyGirl: In the park during the White Day Candy event, she is shown attempting a Purification multiple times and falling on her knees and sighing each time.
391* PaperFanOfDoom: Uses this more in her dark path than her light one.
392* RegeneratingHealth: She loses her ActionCommands but gains an "evil energy" bar. When completely full, Rin's attacks regenerate HP for a while.
393* ShrinkingViolet: Her quotes give off this vibe.

405
406Asin is the first MP/AP hybrid character, and gets stat bonuses every 20 levels. He is the first character that has been stated to not need any further job changes by WordOfGod. However, this is no longer standing since he got a new job as Mugen, although this is known as a 'Special Job'.

456
45719th character of the game, hailing from Elyos. Unlike the others; Veigas is a Playable Villian, but still follows the same storyline when being played as other characters. Though a child for Asmodian standards, he is a prodigy with immense power and arrogance to match.
458
459'''His job is the following:''' Magi
460----
461* AxCrazy: He murders anyone in his way mercilessly; even if they try to help him, since he doesn't want his existence even known. In the manga/video clips of his backstory; he licks Seighart's blood after nearly beating him to death.

463* CastFromHitPoints: An option for him; Veigas can opt to increase the power of his specials slightly at the cost of some of his current HP.
464* EmpathicWeapon: Deus ex Machina; the cube. Unlike Zero and Grandark; Veigas openly threatens Deus and Deus seems to not get on too well with Veigas either.
465* PersonofMassDestruction: Revels in destruction; wants to destroy the world; and openly states that destruction is the meaning of his life. He can also create black holes; has very devastating skills, and his 4 bar is even called 'Judgement Day'.

470* TheRival: To Dio. Yes, another one, but unlike Ley's [[FriendlyRivalry Friendly Rivalry]], Veigas is moved by revenge since the Burning Canyon clan wiped out his.
471* VillainProtagonist: He's an outright villian out to kill the Chase; but you can still play as him and he follows the same storyline as everyone else; barring that he has to clear Triva, which covers his backstory.

479The 20th character of the game. Uno was unintentionally created by the highlanders slain by Ashtaroth. Upon Ashtaroth's defeat by the chase, the seal placed over the highlander's training grounds was lifted and Uno rose from the pool of blood he was born in and began to roam freely. After sometime roaming, Uno collapsed and was found by a young village girl named Reina. He was comforted and taken care of by the entire village during his stay. [[spoiler: But the blood that he was born from gave him an uncontrollable thirst for more. He slayed the entire village, leaving it with nothing but flames.]] Upon leaving the town, he felt a familar presence in the distance. Taking up wandering once more, Uno headed out to find someone that could possibly help him.
480
481'''His job is the following:''' Bloodless
482----
483* ArtificialHuman: He was "born" in a pool of blood from warriors that were all killed by Ashtaroth.
484* BewareTheNiceOnes: Uno takes liking to peace and stability, but encountering him at a bad time may help you realize that his body thinks a bit differently.
485* BloodKnight: He's made from blood and uses a blood gauge for his first job skills. Everything about him is blood.
486* BloodMagic: EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM IS BLOOD.
487* CanonDiscontinuity: Uno is not only currently the only character from Grand Chase to not appear in ''{{VideoGame/GrandChaseDimensionalChaser}}'', a new character was introduced into Grand Chase Classic before Uno was. It's probably a safe bet that he's not coming back.
488* DarkAndTroubledPast: A past so dark and troubled that it all started before he was even born.
489* DontMakeMeDestroyYou: Uno would rather not kill innocent people... [[spoiler:again.]]
490* FightingFromTheInside: Despite Uno having a dislike for blood, he instinctively seeks it out, whether he likes it or not.
491* IAmWhatIAm: He's not entirely fond of being a bloodborn.
492* IJustWantToBeNormal: He seeks out Sieghart in hopes that he may know a way to help stablize him, or at the very least, tell him why he's alive.
493* WhatIsThisFeeling?: Born to only know agony, despair, fear, and bloodthirst, the kindness the village showed him certainly brewed up a few new emotions to Uno.
494* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: If blood flower is any indication [[spoiler:(Or perhaps killing an entire village full of people)]], Uno can get invincible status at the cost of going off the deep end.
495* YouAreNotAlone: Uno wandered the world alone until he met Reina, whose kindness reached out to him greatly... [[spoiler: Until he killed her.]]
496* YouAreWhatYouHate: Uno has a deep self-loathing issue due to his bloodthirst caused by being a bloodborn.
