This covers special characters known as Evokers and their associated Arcarum Primal Beasts that can be recruited by playing through the "Arcarum: The World Beyond" mode and completing their respective upgrade requirements. They are arranged based on the order of the second half of the Major Arcana (as represented by the Arcarum Primal Beasts, who are bound to their respective Evokers).

[[caption-width-right:350:The twenty-two disciples of light and dark. [[note]]Not pictured: The Inchoate World and its Evoker, The Wheel of Fortune.[[/note]]]]

Ten reportedly missing robed figures who suddenly appeared across all places in Sephira Island after The Inchoate World's awakening. Their purpose and affiliation are completely unknown to the military powers investigating Sephira Island.
----
* ArmyOfThievesAndWhores: They are a group made up of [[spoiler:serial killers, mercenaries, criminals, mass murderers, cultists, and exiled royalty.]]
* AssholeVictim: In some of their fate episodes. [[spoiler:The Evokers themselves ended up killing people left and right in their DespairEventHorizon, but, considering what the victims did to the evokers while they were alive? On the other hand, the Evokers end up becoming this themselves to their respective primals]].
** Averted in Nier’s case. With her fate episodes [[spoiler:she ends up killing several of her boyfriends, and feels not so much as [[LackOfEmpathy empathy]] for doing so because they no longer love her after finding out [[YouMonster what she really is.]] While her boyfriends are implied to be shallow, it’s no reason to murder them. When confronted by her parents about it, she still can’t see what she did wrong. Played straight with her family when she finds out that her family never loved her anyway]].
** Completely averted with Lobelia as [[spoiler:he simply kills people for pleasure and not because anyone he kills actually deserves it.]]
* BadassLongcoat: Their Evoker robes double as this, since it becomes their uniform.
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler:One way or another, some of the Evokers are killed by their respective primals but are brought back due to the ability to regenerate after being killed.]]
* BlackAndGrayMorality: A prevalent theme that carries throughout all of their storylines. [[spoiler:Their actions might not sit right to most people... But you can also see where they come from and why they do it, whether or not it’s agreeable]].
* BlueBlood: Some of them were former royalty/nobility before the events that made them into an Evoker. Maria Theresa was an Empress, Katzelia and Haaselia were a prince/princess respectively, Nier was from an old line of wealthy magicians and Estarriola worked as a royal court magician.
* ChekhovsGun: Most of them aren't initially aware of what their Tarot Card is for and they obtain it not knowing that it houses an Arcarum Primal Beast.
* TheChosenOne: Individually, the Arcarum Beasts saw a unique trait or criteria within each of their respective Evokers that convinced the beasts to initiate a [[DealWithTheDevil pact]]. As described by The Hanged Man, an Evoker is a person who make a pact with an Arcarum Series Primal Beast and capable of helping them materialize, since they are simply Primal Beasts made by The Inchoate World from recycled cores of other Primal Beasts, thus they need a medium like an Evoker to summon them. When the Discarded Puppet enemies attempt to summon them without having a pact, their body crumbles into dust as the price.
* ContinuityDrift: Their Fate Episodes having the crew run a simulation of the War seems to be TheArtifact from the old version of Arcarum as the plan of recreating the War to change the timeline has very little to do with the Inchoate World fleeing to Sephira. So far, only Nier's, Estarriola's and Katzelia's Fate Episode gave a nod to what happened to the events in Sephira island, following the new continuity of the new Arcarum game mode.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: All of the Evokers lived tragic lives sometime in the past, before the Arcarum Primal beasts formed pacts with them.
* DarkerAndEdgier: And HOW. These guys give the Eternals a run for their money in the [[DarkAndTroubledPast backstory department]]. There's a good reason why the Evokers want to create their own ideal world. WordOfGod states that while the Eternals were meant to evoke a {{Shounen}} feel with their stories, Arcanum is meant to be a shift to the {{Seinen}} genre.
* DealWithTheDevil: What making a pact to an Arcarum summon does. In exchange for [[OlympusMons their powers and service]], the Evokers have to fulfill a certain condition while accepting a pact with them.
** Maria Thersa has to swear fealty to justice to have The Justice help her revenge. [[spoiler:In her Fate Episode, she got (seemingly) killed by Justice when she saved Gran/Djeeta from Justice's meteors, who perceived the action as an imbalance to the scale of life]].
** Caim has to help The Hanged Man regain his strength and complete his mission of collecting battle data for The World. [[spoiler:When he finished his mission, The Hanged Man granted Caim his wish - [[DeathOfPersonality peace for his mind.]]]]
** Nier has to accept and love Death in order to receive the same from her. [[spoiler:Except Death's love is that of death, and she very much implied one day she might kill Nier because of her love. Nier is fine with this and [[DrivenToSuicide acted first on her own anyway.]]]]
** Estarriola asked Temperance to [[spoiler:quell his rage from losing his wife. In exchange, she takes control of his body, put it in stasis and fill it with magic with intent to use his body to bring forth destruction of the current world.]]
** Fraux fell into The Devil's temptation. She has to revive its power in order to [[spoiler:cause the destruction of the current world, [[DeathSeeker with her in it]]. The Devil fufills her wish by [[JackassGenie attacking her first]]]]
** Lobelia gets to use The Tower's power for [[spoiler:causing untold destruction and calamities. However, should he desire to destroy something or someone but fail to do so, he will pay the price by experiencing [[ATasteOfTheirOwnMedicine every single destruction he ever caused]].]]
** Geisenborger prayed to be saved when he's dying. The Star granted his wish [[spoiler:[[BadSamaritan by shutting down his sense of pain and later have him help with The World's plan to create a new world.]]]]
* DifficultButAwesome: Unlike the Eternals who are very straightforward with what they bring to the table, the Evokers require more thoughts and strategies to play around their restrictions, but when you do, they prove to be extremely effective in situations they excel in.
* DespairEventHorizon: Most of them went through one, it's part of the reason why the Arcarum Primal Beasts are drawn to them in the first place.
* DeathEqualsRedemption: [[spoiler:The Evokers who died in their Fate Episodes try their best to repent after being revived. Yes, even [[TokenEvilTeammate Lobelia]].]] [[spoiler:Subverted with Nier, who is still quite evil and murderous after joining the crew, and Haaselia who still plans to callously manipulate people for her own selfish goals.]]
* DoubleUnlock: Like the long process of unlocking an Eternal, the requirements for recruiting an Evoker is similarly tedious and presents multiple ''unlockable requirements'' or additional steps. And this isn't even getting into what you need to do to upgrade them to their 5★.
** Actually ''unlocking'' the Arcarum mode itself requires getting to chapter 44 and clearing a free quest on Amalthea Island.
** The Arcarum Summon list is already available from the Shop, but one must first defeat the respective Primal Beast in the mode's expeditions to get started crafting the summon, which starts out as an SR item.
** The summon can be fully uncapped and upgraded from SR 0★ to SSR 5★ on a step-by-step forging process.
** Finished the 5★ Upgrade? Then the respective Evoker's initial Fate Episode can now be played, but you must then defeat a more powerful version of the boss. Playing the quest will unlock the "Arcarum Pactbearer" menu from the shop.
** The Arcarum Pactbearer menu lists the available Tarot Cards that require more materials such as the Sephira Evolite, obtainable only once every while in the Arcapoint shop or through Unite and Fight.
** Purchase the Tarot Card and the Evoker's second Fate Episode will appear, complete the episode and the Evoker will ''finally'' be recruited in your crew.
* FieldPowerEffect: Nier and Alanaan have this ability in their skill kit, due to both of them genuinely believing in the goal of creating a new world based on their ideals. The rest of the Evokers lack this ability because their goals are more personal in nature.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Some lines of "New World Order" actually provide hints to the personalities or subtle lore of the Evokers bonded to the Arcarum Primal Beasts.
** "Empress! Let the scales deal harsh equality." [[spoiler:Maria's act of saving the crew of Justice's attempt on their life tips the scales of balance, thus Justice restores the quality by striking Maria Theresa.]]
** "Hanged man! Endure his foolish crucibles." [[spoiler:Caim innocently (and foolishly) tested his foster parents by pointing their flaws, causing them to commit suicide.]]
** "Death! Let love burn to its silent end." [[spoiler:"Silent end" refers to Nier committing suicide in one of her Fate Episodes.]]
** "Temperance! Reign over havoc, weal, and woe." [[spoiler:Temperance essentially is the one in control of Estarriola's body, which she uses to cause havoc and destruction.]]
** "The Devil! Fear the vortex swallowing all." [[spoiler:Fraux desires TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt, which will lead to [[DeathSeeker her own death]].]]
** "The Tower! Tear it down with the wicked ones." [[spoiler:The Tower's role is to tear down the old world to make way for the new one, and its Evoker needs to be a [[TheSociopath special kind of scumbag]] to even fit the role.]]
** "The Star! Rend dark paths to distant wars." [[spoiler:Geisenborger's loss sense of pain made him seek even more wars from anywhere to regain his feeling of pain.]]
** "The Sun! Worship the mercy that outshines the sick truth." [[spoiler:Alanaan focuses on the sun goddess than actually confronting the moral problems of him and his congregation.]]
** "So, Karma weaves fate into a third world." [[spoiler:From the creation myth in ''000'', Bahamut created a new world (current one) based on the previous world he was in, making the current world the second world. The World seeks to create new world apart from the current one, henceforth his ideal world is dubbed the third world.]]
* FullContactMagic: Most Evokers don't "directly" fight, they instead make gestures to summon their pact Primal Beasts to attack the enemy instead. For example, Haaselia does ballet dances and conjures portals to summon The Moon's [[EnergyWeapon Frickin' Laser Beams]].
* GuardianEntity: The Arcarum Primal Beasts act like this to the Evokers. They mostly stay dormant inside a red crystal attached to a random accessory on their respective Evoker. They can communicate with the Evokers without materializing and help the Evokers fight with their powers, appearing only for their Charge Attack. Though despite being [[GuardianEntity Guardian Entities]], only a few of them have a good relationship with their Evokers, some Evokers just seek to use them as tools or weapons, some resent them for making a pact in the first place.
* InTheHood: Upon meeting them for the first time, all Evokers bound to the Arcarum summons wear the hood of their cloak that covers their face in shadows. Though some of them still have slightly visible facial features underneath. The three Erune Evokers (Nier, Fraux and Alanaan) wear hoods that also cover their ears, unlike Scathacha who has ear openings in her hood.
* LetsSplitUpGang: Even more extreme than the Eternals. It's very much implied none of the Evokers have ever meet one another. While most of them are aware of the role of an Evoker, they never once mention of personally knowing another one beside them, and the nature of their work don't require cooperations from other members. The only exception are Katzelia and Haaselia due to them sharing the same origin.
* MagicalAccessory: After being released from their Tarot cards, the Arcarum Primal Beasts can secretly communicate with their Evokers via red crystals that the latter group wears or keeps. They glow bright red during the Evokers' victory animation.
** Maria Theresa wears it like an earring.
** Caim made his into an amulet but holds it on his left hand.
** Nier has it strapped near her belt.
** Estarriola attached his on his forehead.
** Fraux wears it on her choker.
** Lobelia put his onto the strap holding his Evoker robe.
** Geisenborger wears it as like an amulet.
** Haaselia has hers on her left sleeve.
** Alanaan wears it as a ring on his right arm.
** Katzelia strapped his by his belt.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: The Evokers have gimmicks that only apply to them. In-game, they have three passives from the start, one of which takes effect when they are in the backline and another would only activate when they switch to the frontline. Most of their Fate Episodes are tied to the uncap progress of their respective Arcarum Summons and that all three of their skills are available from the start, without any Skill Unlock Fate episode for their penultimate uncap. Their uncap materials also require Arcarum-specific materials such as Astras and Ideans.
* MultipleEndings: All of the Evokers’ Level 100 Fate Episodes have both a Good Ending and a Bad Ending depending on the dialogue choices you take. Of course, you have to get the Good Ending in those Fate Episodes if you want to unlock their 4th skill.
* MysteriousWatcher: They are secretly following the captain, Lyria and Vyrn on their Sephira Island expeditions. Vyrn and Lyria both notice the Evoker's presence in the shadows when their respective Arcarum Primal Beast is defeated but will immediately run away afterwards. After the 5th Anniversary Update, the Evokers properly reveal themselves to the crew.
* NumerologicalMotif: The last two digits of the Evokers' maximum base HP correspond to the number of their respective Primal Beast's TarotMotifs Arcana. For example, Maria Theresa has 1711 maximum base HP for being bound to the 11th Major Arcana Justice. Caim has 1412 HP, Nier has [[ThirteenIsUnlucky 1313]] HP, etc...
* SecretCharacter: Like the Eternals, the Evokers are a set of characters that require continual grinding in order to unlock their stories and eventually recruit them. Unlike the Eternals, the Evokers are explicitly tied to upgrading their summon every step of the way so players know that they're working towards getting them from the start, though it wasn't made clear until they were officially patched into the game.
* ShadowArchetype: They are all darker {{Foil}}s of [[Characters/GranblueFantasyTheEternals the Ten Eternals]] in an essence. To list:
** The Eternals are a well-known group throughout the skies, while the Evokers work in the dark and hardly anyone know of their existence.
** The Eternals work to maintain the status quo and the balance of the world, while the Evokers help The Inchoate World to usurp the current one in order to create a new world.
** In an interview with GBF's director and producer, they are described as characters who thrive from being in the back row, in contrast with the Eternals, who prefer to be on the front row at the earliest in order to reduce the countdown for their Ultimate skill.
** Their recruitment methods differ with the Eternals being recruited by Revenant weapons while the Evokers are recruited by Arcarum summons. Both processes require awakening/upgrading them with materials. [[spoiler:Both Revenant weapons and Arcarum summons are malicious mystical beings that seek to manipulate their host/vessel. The Revenant weapons are drawn to the Eternals because they are people at the peak of their strength, while Arcarum summons are drawn to people [[DespairEventHorizon at their lowest point of their life]], who are easy prey to their manipulation. Later on, the Eternals resist and reject Revenant weapons' temptation, which silence them from making any further personal contact. Meanwhile, the Evokers manage to cast aside their strife from their earlier Fate Episodes and reforge another pact/relationship with their respective summon.]]
** Every member of the Ten Eternals were well known throughout the skies by building their reputation from the ground and all the way up that they had become known in the present. While the Arcarum Evokers were once well-established people who lost their status to events in their life.
** For all their flaws and tendency to do their own things, the Eternals have a friendly relationship with each other, in contrast with the Evokers, who are loosely connected and very much implied to have never meet one another save for Katzelia and Haaselia.
* ShoutOut: In the English version, each one of them is officially called an "Evoker", which is a reference to the equipment used by the S.E.E.S. in ''VideoGame/Persona3'', fitting as both groups use TarotMotifs to summon [[GuardianEntities Guardian Entities]] and that the main theme of ''Persona 3'' is also dark and {{Shounen}}-leaning, similar to the backstories of ''Granblue'''s Evokers.
* SympatheticMurderer: [[spoiler:For the Evokers that have killed they [[AssholeVictim usually have understandable]] reasons for doing so though taken too far in most cases, with the exception of Lobelia who has no sympathetic reason for doing so and Alanaan who used immoral reasoning to justify his killings. Nier starts off as sympathetic but gradually veers into unsympathetic territory before taking a complete u-turn into a straight up villain]].
* {{Synchronization}}: Entering a pact with the Arcarum Series grants the Evokers some degree of this. [[spoiler:The Hanged Man's weakened state sent the amnesiac Caim into a deep coma, while The Devil can pin point Fraux's exact location after months of breaking her pact with The Devil.]]
* TarotMotifs:
** Their roles are based on the first half of the Major Arcana Tarot Cards but their behavior and mindset is more based in the reversed meaning of their corresponding Arcana.
*** The Reversed Wheel of Fortune implies bad luck. [[spoiler:The Mysterious Evoker gets caught sneaking inside the Enforcers' Fourth Hall, and he died to awaken The Inchoate World.]]
*** The Reversed Lovers implies self-love. [[spoiler:Nier only prioritizes the desire for others to love her first, and not the other way around.]]
*** The Reversed Hermit implies isolation. [[spoiler:Estarriola becomes mentally isolated from his body when he sleeps because Temperance takes over and society as a whole because of his possession.]]
*** The Reversed Chariot implies lack of direction. [[spoiler:Geisenborger wants to participate in endless wars, and he doesn't choose sides.]]
*** The Reversed Hierophant implies the desire to change the status quo. [[spoiler:Alanaan believes that evil deeds done with good intentions is still good and wishes to eliminate all criminals from the world.]]
*** The Reversed High Priestess implies secrets and lack of personal harmony. [[spoiler:Haaselia secretly harbors hatred that she hides from the people around her and neglects her bonds with them in the process]].
*** The Reversed Strength implies lack of courage. [[spoiler:Fraux's lack of courage to stand up for herself in the face of the abuse thrown her way back in her home village took an eventual toll on her in time]].
*** The Reversed Fool implies Naivety. [[spoiler:Caim's InnocentlyInsensitive questions ended up driving him away from people]].
*** The Reversed Emperor implies lack of control. [[spoiler:Katzelia's passivity results in him being unable to respond properly to the political on-goings around him.]]
*** The Reversed Empress implies lack of stability. [[spoiler:Maria Theresa lived without worries for most of her life that when something breaks that stability, she is at lost of what to do]].
*** The Reversed Magician implies ill intentions and communication blocks. [[spoiler:Lobelia's sociopathy and madness started when he hears the sound of his bones being broken and then killed his parents to hear them again. He also similarly function in a BlueAndOrangeMorality and fail to understand why some people are bothered with his interest]].
** These get inverted at the end of their fate episodes and their recruitment into the crew.
*** The Upright Hierophant implies spiritual wisdom. [[spoiler:Alanaan atones for his actions by helping other people and preaching his original cause during his self-imposed exile.]]
*** The Upright Fool implies innocence. [[spoiler:Caim's memories and personality were reset into that of an ordinary 10-year old boy.]]
*** The Upright Empress implies new opportunities. [[spoiler:Maria Theresa decided to make a new opportunity of reconnecting with her sister and reclaim her former position with her own power]].
** The Evokers' passive skills are also thematically named after the Tarots. Their second passive is the Reversed Arcana of their respective Primal Beasts' card, while their third passive is the Upright Arcana of the card that they represent.
* TimeSkip: Most of the Evokers' actual recruitment scenes take place months after the events of their initial episodes. The narration for Maria Theresa's, Nier's and Alanaan's also explicitly mention this.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Generally, these characters are not all morally good people, all of them having committed various misdeeds, most commonly murder. [[spoiler:[[TokenGoodTeammate Maria Theresa]] is the only exception, having committed no real wrongdoing. That said, the Evokers that join the crew [[HeelFaceTurn do soften up]] and become more heroic individuals. Unless your name is Nier, Lobelia, or Haaselia.]]

An unknown member wearing the Evoker robe. He sneaked inside the Enforcers' Fourth Hall on Amalthea Island and awakened The Inchoate World, starting the Arcarum story line.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: Seemingly died in order to awake The Inchoate World. [[spoiler:But as seen with other Evokers, death doesn't have to be the end for them.]]
** [[spoiler:His status is no longer ambiguous as the opening of Replicard Sandbox reveals he's alive and well.]]
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler:Somehow still showed up alive despite the Enforcer girls already confirmed he's dead on Amalthea Island.]]
** BackForTheDead: [[spoiler: ... Only to die as a sacrifice to satisfy Inchoate World's wishes to begin the process of a new world. With Inchoate World dying some time after that and the implication that it was Hyest's pact Arcarum, he's gone, most likely forever.]]
* TheFaceless: With his hood on, his face is simply covered in shadow.
* InTheHood: That's all the Evokers in a nutshell, but this guy takes the cake as he has yet to be seen without his hood covering his face. But features wise, he seem to be a Human character. [[spoiler: Then come Replicard Sandbox, where a gust of wind unhooded him in his reappearance and confirms his race as a Human.]]
* MenDontCry: Subverted. He turned to a sobbing mess in the middle of his monologue... before groaning in pain as he died from the strain of summoning The Inchoate World.
* NoNameGiven: He has yet to receive an official name in game or in the journal, and is still referred at ???. Fans mostly call him by his Arcana. [[spoiler:Until he reveals his name, Hyest, in Replicard Sandbox.]]
* OutOfFocus: Unlike the other Evokers who have fleshed-out backstories and characterizations, this one only had a few minutes of appearance, and dies in the same scene. His Arcarum, The Inchoate World is also unavailable from the shop, which doesn't give him a focused backstory of his own. [[spoiler:That said, Inchoate World has the Replicard Sandbox, and more specifically Zone Mundus, for more info on its actions, which leaves Hyest as nothing.]]
* SmallRoleBigImpact: His screentime are minutes at best, but his actions led the crew to Sephira island, starting the whole Arcarum story line.
* TarotMotifs: He has yet to receive any official information about him, but through process of elimination with other Evokers, the Wheel of Fortune is the only Arcana left. The trailer for the Evokers confirms this as [[https://youtu.be/ntnNCslpn3U?t=110 The World's portion]] mentions it is bonded to the Wheel of Fortune.

The benevolent Empress, pact bearer to the Arcarum primal beast, Justice.
----
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Since childhood, Theresa had developed romantic feelings for an aristocratic man. But he was later married to [[spoiler:her long lost twin sister.]]
* BigNo: Theresa's reaction after knowing that [[spoiler:her childhood crush is married to the impostor, and later when her loyal servant Charlotte dies in front of her.]]
* BreakTheCutie: The ironic revelations changed her perspective in life and she now wants revenge.
* ButtMonkey: Doubling as a CosmicPlaything, she is a completely ''non''-comedic example, and one of the more tragic examples in the setting. [[spoiler:She basically lost everyone she ever cared about over the course of her life as her father was killed, her love instead married her sister, her mother rejected her because she blames Maria for her twin sister being abducted and forced to become the empress in her place, and the most traumatizing is her one friend committing suicide right in front of her to ensure the pact with Justice.]]
* AChildShallLeadThem: She was once the empress of the Loman Empire, who started ruling at the age of 14.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Theresa once played with an aristocrat man during their younger days and developed subtle romantic feelings for him. [[spoiler:They didn't end up together due to an ironic twist of fate.]]
* CoolMask: Or rather, the lack of it, is what drives ''Grand Blues'' strip [[http://game-a1.granbluefantasy.jp/assets_en/img/sp/assets/comic/episode/episode_1374.jpg #1374]] when Maria interacts with other characters with CoolMask like Gawain and Siegfried. Maria instead uses her [[InTheHood Evoker hood]] as replacement.
* TheCoup: Because Theresa did not like to engage in [[MarriageOfConvenience political marriages]], [[spoiler:the palace nobles grew weary about her ruling, had someone in her image [[TwinSwitch take her place]] and have Theresa locked underground.]]
* CulturedBadass: She was trained in arts, crafts, books and theatre at a young age, works as an appraiser and can be combat-sufficient thanks to being pactbound to [[GuardianEntity Justice]].
* DamageIncreasingDebuff: Her unique ''Unrighteousness'' debuff increases the damage the party cause to the enemy while making them deal less damage to the party.
* DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife: Theresa began to question her own existence after [[spoiler:watching her remaining loved ones being taken away from her.]]
--> "What was my purpose in it all? [[spoiler:To meet everyone's expectations? To accept my father's teachings? To uphold tradition? ''To hell with it all''.]]"
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler:By the end of her Level 100 Fate Episode, she finally takes her rightful place as empress, replaced most of the entire corrupt council with new members, and has also managed to reconnect with both her twin sister and her mother. She's also good friends with the love of her life at the very least, as she didn't want to ruin his own life with everything that happened to her.]]
* EquivalentExchange: As Justice fulfilled Theresa's desire in the past, Theresa believes that she must help accomplish Justice's desire in return, and it is something that is enforced with her pact to the primal beast.
* FakingTheDead: Not her, but [[spoiler:she has been made to believe that her mother died. Theresa's mother kept on hiding until presumed dead so that the latter can secretly live with Theresa's twin.]]
* {{Foil}}:
** To fellow Arcarum Evoker Nier. [[spoiler:Both came from a distinguished lineage, have been romantically involved with males, have been compared to their sisters whom others saw as superior than them (Nier in terms of magic and Theresa in terms of political dignity), and were locked underground for being inferior. Their respective parents also treat them as TheUnfavorite (both for Nier whereas Theresa is one for her mother). And while the two of them both forged a pact with their respective Arcarum for the sake of escaping the bonds, Theresa never went into a SanitySlippage unlike Nier.]]
** Also to Seofon of the Ten Eternals, in that both are {{Butt Monkey}}s to their respective groups. The difference is that Seofon is the ButtMonkey in TheFriendNobodyLikes sense, and always PlayedForLaughs while [[spoiler:Maria Theresa's life has become a big {{Irony}} in one way and another, and her misfortune is ''not'' funny at all.]] Another is that Seofon takes his bad luck with stride and cheer, he may complain about it but he went through it all with an easy going attitude. [[spoiler:Maria Theresa, meanwhile... [[DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife not so much]]]].
* FriendToAllChildren: One of her listed likes are children.
* GratuitousItalian: Has a skill named ''Uguale'' which means "equal" in Italian.
* HiddenInPlainSight: Who would expect a beautiful Draph art appraiser to be a former empress in exile? [[spoiler:Even more extreme when she safely entered her former palace by simply putting on her Evoker Hood in order to meet her twin sister in Maria's recruitment Fate Episode.]]
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: [[spoiler:Justice impales Theresa with her sword when the Evoker tries to help the protagonists escape from her own Primal Beast.]]
* InadequateInheritor: In a kingdom usually ruled by male emperors, she is viewed as one by some due to being the first female empress of the Loman Empire. Add it to the fact that she doesn't want to be [[MarriageOfConvenience married for the sake of politics]], and the other higher-ups deemed it as a sign of a SuccessionCrisis.
* {{Irony}}: All instances also serve as TheReveal from her perspective:
** [[spoiler:The reason why Theresa turns down prince suitors and avoids political marriage? She has already ''secretly'' met the love of her life. But to her confidants, they see this as Theresa not taking her role seriously, and she had to be locked underground while a look-alike takes her place. [[AllLoveIsUnrequited Unfortunately]], the impostor empress would be wed to the man whom Theresa desires. Had Theresa went along with a political marriage, she may had the chance to be married to her crush in the first place!]]
** [[spoiler:Her father always tells her "Always know the truth and never become a fake". While Theresa is a legitimate daughter, this statement applies to her twin, who was made the fake empress just to uphold the empire's dignity. This also amplifies the above-mentioned irony, where Theresa's childhood crush is married to her identical sister.]]
** [[spoiler:Theresa was the favorite daughter and her twin TheUnfavorite from birth, but the aforementioned two revelations reversed their roles.]]
** And then it comes full circle in her level 100 episode [[spoiler:as Marianna was similarly envious of Theresa for having a father and living in the riches, but when she was later made the figurehead, she realized how wrong she was.]]
* JacobAndEsau: Theresa is favored by her father and is TheUnfavorite to her mother. [[spoiler:The reverse applies to her twin. Theresa's younger twin was maltreated just because the kingdom believed a superstition where twins are considered an omen. As a result, Theresa lived with her father inside the prosperous kingdom while her younger sister was cast out along with their mother, who later blamed Theresa for the misfortunes.]]
* KickingAssInAllHerFinery: Wears a gown underneath her Evoker robe even in combat.
* LadyOfWar: Befitting the Empress arcana, Maria Theresa is quite graceful in battle despite not being trained in the arts of war prior her exile.
* LivingADoubleLife: She works as an appraiser for an arts gallery.
* MarriageOfConvenience: Subverted. The Count suggested her to be married to prince suitors, but she instead declines in favor of a marriage out of love rather than politics.
* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: Fittingly for the representative of the Empress arcana, she is most likely named after [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Theresa Maria Theresa]], only female ruler of the Habsburg Empire. Her surname Österreich, is German for Austria, one of the provinces of the Habsburger dominion.
* NobleFugitive: Technically she is one. While she's making a living as an art appraiser, should the Loman Empire become aware of her survival, she will most likely be hunted down and silenced. [[spoiler:She is aware of this, and has to hide her face when entering the Palace in order to meet her twin sister.]]
-->'''Maria Theresa''' (when asking to join the crew): There's no telling what might happen from now until the time I complete my objective. Who knows—an assassin might even pop up.
* NotQuiteDead: [[spoiler:Her recruitment episode reveals that Justice held back on her power when she had seemingly killed Maria Theresa as payment for going against the pact they made]].
* {{Ojou}}: She was born, raised and treated as a princess. Still has the high-class manners even as an appraiser.
* OjouRinglets: Goes with her being an Ojou.
* OnlyFriend: [[spoiler:Charlotte is the only friend and the closest she had to [[ParentalSubstitute a mother]] throughout her life. It left Maria Theresa horribly broken when she witnessed her suicide]].
* PimpedOutDress: Underneath her Evoker robe is a gold-decorated, dark green and wavy regal gown.
* RoyalBlood: The daughter of Charles VI, the previous ruler of the Loman Empire.
* SuccessionCrisis: The Loman Empire became worried that the current ruler never had a male heir, and there are those who doubt Theresa's image as a female ruler and her ability to lead. [[spoiler:She unknowingly invoked this trope when she kept on rejecting political marriage, prompting the others to replace her.]]
* TakeUpMySword: A recurring theme among the pactbearers of Justice. Maria's father, Charles VI, was Justice's first pactbearer. On his death bed, he entrusted Maria's servant and caretaker Charlotte Justice's card. Charlotte technically [[spoiler:commited suicide by invoking this trope, when she forcefully passed the Tarot card to Theresa hoping that Justice will form a pact with her, and help Theresa free from captivity.]]
* TokenGoodTeammate: The only one in a group of [[TokenEvilTeammate Token Evil Teammates]] no less! She helped the crew out [[spoiler:and performed a HeroicSacrifice near the end of her Fate Episodes to save the Captain's life even if it meant going against the pact she had with Justice in the process. She's also the only one among the Evokers so far who has not killed anybody and personally apologized to the crew in a private moment by herself for having to lie to them and getting them involved with her situation]]. ''However,'' [[spoiler:you can actually ''[[SubvertedTrope subvert]]'' this in her Fifth Uncap Level 100 episode by potentially obtaining the bad ending where Maria kills her twin sister. But since getting her 4th skill requires getting the good ending, it's a DoubleSubvertedTrope as Maria Theresa remains a firm TokenGoodTeammate as she accomplished her goal in taking back her rightful place as the Empress with diplomacy than to resort to violence.]]
* TwinSwitch: [[spoiler:The palace nobles gave the position of empress to her twin sister after she lost her position.]]
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: She had suicidal thoughts while being locked underground, but her servant Charlotte consoled her out of them.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Maria Theresa's regal air, mature behavior and assets make it hard to believe she's only 17 years old.

The glorious Fool, pact bearer to the Arcarum primal beast The Hanged Man.
----
* AmnesiacDissonance: [[spoiler:After recovering his memories from his temporary amnesia via the World, Caim felt the dissonance of how innocent he was back before he recovered his original self's memories and thought his "innocent" self is an idiot through and through. But The Hanged man digreses and say that innocence is still a form of happiness in it's own.]]
* AnimeHair: Caim has spiky silver hair.
* AwesomeButImpractical: No matter how you use him, he'll end up as this. If you use him for his back row ability, you'll miss out on his unique skillset that can be used in every situation. Conversely, if you use him up front, you aren't able to make use of his ability to strengthen Highlander grids, of which there are only a few methods of doing so.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Is the youngest of the Evokers, at only 10 years old.
* BittersweetEnding: [[spoiler:Caim's ending in his Level 100 Fate episode. While Caim recovered his original memories thanks to the World and come to terms with the AmnesiacDissonance of his self, Caim comes to terms of the fragility and how small his sins were in the bigger picture as he revisits places that he used to live, and would have to live with the blood on his hands for the rest of his life. However, Caim had found the resolve to face his future head on even with the sins he committed after a pep talk with the Hanged Man, and realize he had found a home and family in the Grandcypher crew, with the level 100 Fate episode ending with Caim and the Hanged Man walking back to the Grandcypher with the crew welcoming them back.]]
* BrokenAce: [[spoiler:He had a very high intelligence even as a child, but this very intelligence made him drawn away from people in general]].
* ChildProdigy: According to The Hanged Man's narration, Caim learned how to speak the day after he was born. At the age of two, he was as smart as his parents. He keeps his genius intellect even at his current age of 10. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, this caused him to be withdrawn from people around him]].
* CreepyChild: [[spoiler:Not Caim himself, but his biological parents thought that he is this when they find his intelligence horrifying and abandoned him for it]].
* DeepSleep: [[spoiler:Goes into one in his recruitment Fate Episode, almost going into a near-death state due to The Hanged Man's existence and power slowly dwindling. Only when the pact was recreated that Caim was able to recover]].
* DualWielding: Carries a pair of daggers as weapons for battle.
* DullEyesOfUnhappiness: Caim is first introduced this way.
* FlowersForAlgernonSyndrome: Averted [[spoiler:following The Hanged Man stripping him of his intelligence and memory. While Caim himself is happy being a normal child, albeit with lower-than-average intelligence for his age, this is because he no longer knows any better, and absolutely nobody else is happy for it. Even The Hanged Man, who was solely responsible for causing it, has his regrets after turning Caim stupid]].
* {{Foil}}:
** To Fif of the Eternals. Both characters are child geniuses and TheBabyOfTheBunch of their respective groups. However, Fif is positive and embodies innocence while Caim [[spoiler:looks down on people and questions everyone, only cynically trusting himself]].
** Also another to Tweyen of the Eternals. Both are talented in their field (Tweyen in archery, Caim in intelligence) and [[spoiler:drove people away from themselves as a consequence]]. The difference is that Tweyen was able to soldiered on with life and eventually find people who see and respect her for who she is regardless of her talent. Caim, however, [[spoiler:couldn't do the same and ended up suffering himself]].
* IJustWantToBeNormal: [[spoiler:After killing his biological family, he started wishing that he was a normal child and not the intelligent genius he was. He got his wish by turning into a relatively normal 10-year-old after being put into amnesia by The Hanged Man. This doesn't last however, and by the point of the final battle against Inchoate World he's back to his intelligent self.]]
* ImprobableInfantSurvival: [[spoiler:Even after defeating him and The Hanged Man, he does not die, but he enters a comatose sleep after being separated from his primal beast. The Hanged Man returning to him in his recruitment episode manages to wake him up again.]]
* IntelligenceEqualsIsolation: [[spoiler:Caim's intellect created a divide between him and people in general. This is a bad thing as his constant questioning of the world and the flaws of people led to his first foster family being DrivenToSuicide, then he did the same to his subsequent foster family where they all met the same fate, either intentionally, or unintentionally]].
* InnocentlyInsensitive: PlayedForDrama and [[DeconstructedTrope deconstructed]]. [[spoiler:His eventual questioning and pointing out of the flaws of his foster families hurts them and [[IntelligenceEqualsIsolation he couldn't understand why]]]].
* JackOfAllStats: Caim can ignore weapon specialty-specific bonuses and thus can fit in any team. He also has team buffs, heal, debuff, good offensive and defensive options. However, at [[MasterOfNone the lower rank]] of his stacks, your team will most likely have better characters that can excel at those roles. ''But'', if you managed to [[MagikarpPower max out all his stacks]], Caim becomes a powerhouse with high atk/def self-buff, potent heal and debuffs on top of the normal abilities he can do.
* LackOfEmpathy: [[spoiler:His failure to understand emotions are partly influenced by IntelligenceEqualsIsolation]].
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: [[spoiler:At the end of his Fate Episodes, The Hanged Man fulfills his end of the bargain of the pact he made with Caim by erasing his memories and [[DeathOfPersonality resets his personality]] to match his age, to give Caim a chance to be an ordinary child. Unfortunately for him, it doesn't stick.]]
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: [[spoiler:Caim was left out of the discussion about the Arcarum primal beast after he recovered and reforged his pact with The Hanged Man. Gran/Djeeta, Lyria, and Vyrn all prefer that Caim should know something but The Hanged Man digressed that Caim is better off not knowing, as he had been much happier without his traumatic memories. Something that both the captain and Vyrn can agree]]. It doesn't last however, [[spoiler: and the Zone Mundus incident leads him to recover his full memories.]]
* MonoNoAware: [[spoiler:Caim's level 100 fate episode has him realize that even though the foolish sin he had committed by accidentally killing some foster families due to his genius and the geniune murder of his biological family can't be erased, his actions are but a small drop in the bigger view of things as he realized that some places he used to live have been replaced and rebuilt, lived in by new families.]]
* MoonLogicPuzzle: Gets bombarded with them by Philosophia as a test in ''Grand Blues'' strip [[http://game-a1.granbluefantasy.jp/assets_en/img/sp/assets/comic/episode/episode_1323.jpg #1323]]. Caim tried his best but the absurdness of Philosophia's answers get the better of him.
* OnlyFriend: [[spoiler:The Hanged Man is this to him. It's evident that compared to the other evokers, his partnership with said primal beast is very positive, even if Caim is a little bit exasperated and holds some contempt for the primal beast at times]].
* ParentalAbandonment: [[spoiler:He was abandoned by his biological family and later was sent off from one foster family to another]].
* PlayingCardMotifs: Caim's skills are [[ThemeNaming thematically named]] after playing cards or card-related terms such as ''Double Deal'', ''Beginning of Joker / End of Joker'' and ''Blank Face''. Even his third skill's effects follow this naming convention--''Heart Trick'', ''Spade Trick'', ''Club Trick'', and ''Diamond Trick''.
* PowerCopying: Has a skill that copies another ally's ability. Like Lunalu's ''Facsimile'' and Golden Knight’s ''Sword in Flux'' though, some skills cannot be copied.
* ReverseGrip: He holds a dagger this way in his uncap art.
* SelfMadeOrphan: [[spoiler:It’s revealed that he killed his biological parents and sister... [[AssholeVictim Though to be fair, they all declared that they had a better time without him around]]. His killing of his first foster family is purely accidental. And he did the same to subsequent foster families because of how he continues to question and point out the flaws of people around him]].
* {{Synchronization}}: [[spoiler:Caim's recruitment Fate Episode reveals that when The Hanged Man erased Caim's old memories, the contact made the two linked with each other in a case similar to the Captain's and Lyria's bond. As long as The Hanged Man still exists, Caim will live, so when The Hanged Man slowly disappears during the episode, it also affects Caim's life.]]
* TookALevelInCheerfulness: [[spoiler:He is much more cheery than he was initially introduced after his LaserGuidedAmnesia]].[[spoiler: When the memories come back, so does his sour look and personality, though he does seem to have kept some cheeriness.]]
* UniquenessValue: When Caim stays in your back row, he offers 20% unique ATK buff, 50% def buff and 10% cap up when your weapon grid has no identical weapon. This kind of grid building is usually called [[AKindOfOne Caim]] grid.
* WildCard: His Arcana is The Fool--''the'' Wild Card. It's also the name of his support ability, granting him the ability to ignore weapons/races/styles restriction to take full advantage of buffs from your weapon grid. Also his gameplay gimmick in a nutshell, as Caim can copy abilities from his teammates and/or adapt them into his ''Blank Card'' ability, allowing various uses and playstyles as the player sees fit.

The cautious Hermit, pact bearer to the Arcarum primal beast Temperance.
----
* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler:Estarriola was essentially placed into a coma when he makes a pact with Temperance, remaining conscious and aware for years that his body is being controlled. And he can't do anything]].
* TheArchmage: A very powerful sage who is part of a council made up from the greatest sorcerers the Sky has to offer. Notably, where most mortal spellcasters in Granblue Fantasy have to use Staves and Grimoires to perform magic, Estarriola stands out as someone who can cast spells using his fingers alone, and still remains a powerful magic caster literally in his sleep. [[spoiler:Even in the brink of death, he can still cast a spell to help the crew and him escape from Temperance's pocket dimension.]]
* BodyHorror: [[spoiler:The state of his body when the crew found him trapped in Temperance's memories of the war. His flesh was torn, his throat crushed and his body smeared with blood. The crew doubt if he's even "alive" in this state.]]
* ChargedAttack: His is more special than other characters, as he has to charge his Forbidden Chalices stacks to reach 9 stacks to be able to use it.
* ChekhovsGunman: Marquiares namedrops him as another supreme sage equally skilled at magic in his Fate Episode, who is also a member of the Supreme Supernal Council like he is.
* ElderlyImmortal: An old wizened sage at the age of 121 years old. [[spoiler:Unlike Marquiares, who simply is just that old as a 227-year-old, Temperance essentially has put Estarriola's body in stasis. Estarriola is now immune to the passage of time, allowing him to live far longer than usual.]]
* {{Foil}}: To Anre of the eternals, for being a cool headed, wise, MellowFellow in their respective groups. However, Anre's own calmness comes from experience, Estarriola's calmness comes from [[spoiler:Temperance keeping his rage in control by putting him in a coma]].
* EmotionSuppression: Most of his emotions are numbed due to the influence of Temperance.
* EyesAlwaysShut: He rarely opens his eyes, even in his artworks, or his in-game sprites. In fact, because of these, it's safe to say that he doesn't even open them anymore. [[spoiler:Averted with his fifth uncap, where he becomes significantly younger.]]
* FountainOfYouth: [[spoiler:Estarriola's fifth uncap makes him look significantly younger in appearance.]]
* FrameUp: Being branded as a rebel leader.
* HappilyMarried: It's implied his marriage with his wife was a happy one. [[spoiler: Her death sent him to a rage so great he has to [[DealWithTheDevil make a pact]] with Temperance to quell it. Also, Temperance didn't actively take on the appearance of his wife as a mean to manipulate him, she appears that way because it is the reflection of Estarriola's heart. He later becomes married to Temperance by the end of his Level 100 Fate Episode.]]
* IOweYouMyLife: [[spoiler:The crew saved him from death and nursed him back to health, thus he wished to join the crew to repay this life debt.]]
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: One of the few rare autonomous character in the game due to his Autonomous Tempering passive skill. He spends most of his time on the front row in Seclusion mode, which prevents him from auto attacking, using his charge attack and manually allowing the player to use his skills. However, he makes up for this by auto-activating his damage skills when [[ConfusionFu certain conditions]] are met, as well as bestowing the party random buffs at the end of the turn if he has Dreamscape status after switching in.
* MundaneUtility: Rackam used his SnotBubble to build a makeshift hot air balloon in ''Grand Blues'' strip [[http://game-a1.granbluefantasy.jp/assets_en/img/sp/assets/comic/episode/episode_1373.jpg #1373]].
* NotAfraidToDie: Estarriola no longer fears of dying. He only fears being forgotten by time.
* NotQuiteDead: [[spoiler:The crew and Temperance assumed he died when trapped inside Temperance's memory of the war. He's only [[BodyHorror "alive"]] because of his shared life force with Temperance and the tempering she did to his body. The crew rescued him and nursed him for ''months'' until he finally waked up.]]
* OnlySaneMan: Relative to the other Evokers, Estarriola has it much more together because [[spoiler:enough time has passed after his tragedy and Temperance is quelling his emotions. He's also somewhat aware that Temperance has her own goals independent of his, manipulating him and the Captain to achieve them]].
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Estarriola is a very powerful sage whose powers and knowledge earned him a place as royal court magician. [[spoiler:After taking control of his body, Temperance destroyed his kingdom overnight with his magical powers. And to her, that is just a test! Temperance actively tempers his body to allow him to achieve even more powerful and advanced magic for a very [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt sinister goal.]]]]
* PowerFloats: Like other powerful Harvins like Anre, Niyon and his fellow Sage Marquiares, Estarriola always float and rarely lets his feet touch the ground. He even floats while sleeping!
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: [[spoiler:After his wife died in a political struggle, he sought out forbidden magic, resulting in Temperance using his powers to attack the entire kingdom]].
* SleepyHead: Always seen snoozing away... Subverted when it turns out he has the hobby of spooking people like this. [[spoiler:There's a darker reason to this. While he sleeps, Temperance took control of his body and wreck havoc in his place]].
* SmartPeoplePlayChess: Played a few round of mental chess with his friend Marquiares during their Council of Sages' mental meeting. Marquiares noted that despite his age, Estarriola still has some fight left in him, [[spoiler:hinting at his hidden rage.]]
* SnotBubble: Spots one in his battle sprite. Sometimes it almost grows larger than Estarriola himself! He can somehow uses it as [[ImprobableWeaponUser weapon]] for his auto-attack animation.
* {{Synchronization}}: He shares the same life force with Temperance. [[spoiler:Lyria noticed this is how he's still alive after being trapped in her dimension.]]
-->'''Estarriola''' (to Temperance): You and I are two halves of a beating heart. If I die, you die as well. We're in the same boat... And we will sink together when the time comes.
* UglyGuyHotWife: Estarriola doesn't exactly look ugly, just old, but with what we can see from [[spoiler:Temperance's face]], his wife was quite a beauty.

The indomitable Strength, pact bearer to the Arcarum primal beast The Devil.
----
* AllTheOtherReindeer: She was shunned by the rest of the people in the village as they are afraid and also envious of her beauty and talent in fire magic. She only had one friend who stayed with her regardless [[spoiler:but said friend's disappearance had her even more shunned and gave Fraux the push to make a pact with The Devil and burn her village aground]].
* BloodKnight: Surprisingly, one of her listed likes is battle.
* {{Bowdlerise}}: [[spoiler:The implied [[RapeAsDrama rape and sexual elements]] in the Japanese version of her fate episode is toned down to a tame level in the English translations but still implied that something happened to her]].
* CharmPerson: Fraux can inflict her own variant of Charm debuff called Nightmare Temptation, which causes enemies to have a chance not to attack. If her Solid Fortitude buff is also active, she can also inflict another debuff called Nightmare Scarlet.
* CombatStilettos: Wears a pair despite being a KickChick.

* EarnYourHappyEnding: So far, Fraux is [[spoiler:one of the few Evokers to have a truly happy ending after their fifth uncap, as she manages to find her long lost friend and recover part of her memories, and is shown to be genuinely happy and cheerful with the crew by her side.]]

** To fellow Arcarum Evoker, Nier. Both of them are Erunes and had a wish to be loved and accepted in the past. However, [[spoiler:Nier becomes TheUnfettered for the sake of being loved by her parents again, Fraux, meanwhile, gave up on that wish as the event that led to her making a pact with The Devil becomes a CynicismCatalyst to her]].
** Also one to Tweyen of the Eternals, as they both had been shunned in their hometown due to their talents. While Tweyen was able to rise above all that despite it costing a bit of her self-esteem, Fraux failed to do so.
** A minor one to Geisenborger, where both fight with martial arts with the Melee specialty. Geisenborger fights mostly with punches, and Fraux fights mainly with kicks.
* GirlishPigtails: But are somewhat behind her head, which makes them like twin ponytails.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: Fraux's eyes glow orange-white when she reveals her powers for the first time.
* HatesBeingAlone: Her stated dislike in her profile is loneliness.
* IJustWantToBeLoved: [[spoiler:She loved her home despite the treatment she get and wished to be accepted. It's any wonder that she was pushed over the edge after her one friend left]].
* InformedAttractiveness: Lyria's first impression to Fraux is her beauty. According to her lore, [[spoiler:Her beauty was supposedly enough to the people in her village isolate and hate her. Though by ''Granblue Fantasy'''s standards, shes no more attractive than the average female character.]]
* KickChick: She primarily fights using her legs.
* MsFanservice: The Evoker with the most revealing outfit and the body to match the role. She's bothered by this in ''Grand Blues'' strip [[http://game-a1.granbluefantasy.jp/assets_en/img/sp/assets/comic/episode/episode_1347.jpg #1347]], attracting unwanted attention from men while making women angry. Cassius presented a solution by [[PleasePutSomeClothesOn making her wear a sweater]] instead of her normal {{Stripperiffic}} outfit... with varying degree of success in courtesy of Jin.
* NotTheIntendedUse: Fraux started to gain a lot of use as a debuff extender, after it was found out that she could actually extend the unique Can't Act debuffs from Summer Shalem and Grand Cagliostro. Combined with her back-to-frontline passive and copious abuse of the Qilin summon, she could keep a boss ''indefinitely'' locked down while the rest of the party would whittle it down. This was so unexpectedly powerful and effective that the debuffs were eventually nerfed to no longer be extendable.
* OnlyFriend: She only has one friend in her home village. [[spoiler:Her disappearing is what gives Fraux the push to contract with the Devil.]]
* PlayingWithFire: She has a natural talent for this. Befitting a Fire element character, Fraux imbues Fire magic onto her kicks. Her Charge Attack also inflicts Red Heat, a unique variant of the Burn debuff status.
* SoBeautifulItsACurse: Fraux's beauty mixed with her talent of fire magic only brought so many problems for her.
* StatuesqueStunner: Fraux stands at 173cm tall, and very beautiful with [[MsFanservice assets]] to show for it.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her default outfit beneath her Evoker robe is quite revealing, especially when compared with her more conservatively dressed fellow Erune Nier. Her fifth uncap clothes her in an even skimpier and more revealing dress.
* TheTease: Explains that the reason she approached the captain is because she likes them. And Fraux speaks it in a flirtatious tone that irritates [[ClingyJealousGirl Lyria]].
* TheUnfettered: Fraux has low self-preservation and she can gladly kill if someone is getting in the way of her plans.

The shrewd Magician, pact bearer to the Arcarum primal beast The Tower.
----
* AffablyEvil: Very polite and courteous, and aside from a few moments of LaughingMad, still remains affable even when he's preventing the Captain from drawing their weapon by threatening Lyria's life.
* AxCrazy: He has an absolutely ''deranged'' obsession with killing.
* BadassFingersnap: He times his incantations with fingersnaps.
* BeneathNotice: Once he reached adulthood, Lobelia realized his "genius" would attract unwanted attention that could interfere with his pursuit of happiness, thus he decided to lay low and conduct himself like a normal person while secretly indulging in killing. Even after making a pact with The Tower and escalating his killing into a new height, others fail to connect how the natural disaster level destructions he caused can be done by a single man.
* BodyBackupDrive: How he got out of The Tower's punishment. He created a body out of Audiomancy to take the punishment for him while he got out. However, due to Lobelia liking the punishment so much, he kept his nerves connected to the body to feel the same pain his clone was experiencing.
* BookEnds: Lobelia's SerialKiller way began when he heard the sound made by his broken bones. It ends when he discovered his own death sound is the sound he has always looking for after being killed and revived numerous times by The Tower.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Lobelia's parents taught him everybody deserve to be happy, and he took their lesson to heart. The problem is Lobelia can only be happy when hearing the sound made by dying people, and he felt delighted with no sense of guilt when testing out his Audiomancy power on his parents.
* CameBackStrong: [[spoiler: Not any of the usual deaths he experiences, but when combating The World in his 5* uncap, the Tower's core is destroyed and Lobelia is subjected to infinite deaths for the World's [[IronicDeath amusement]]. Gradually losing himself, Lobelia uses Audiomancy to reconstruct the Tower's core and steal some of the World's power, coming back even stronger than before with an entirely new ability.]]
* CatchPhrase: [[GratuitousFrench Trés-bien!]]
* CollectorOfTheStrange: He has a collection of conch shells which house recorded voices of people he met. To be more precise, the records of the death sounds made by people he met and killed.
* DeathEqualsRedemption: After being killed and revived numerous times by The Tower, Lobelia discovered the death sound that brings him the most joy turns out to be his own all along. Losing interest in the death sounds of others, Lobelia begs the Captain to let him join the crew, willing to do anything within his and The Tower's own power just for a chance to be the Captain's follower.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: The sounds he make when he's "happy" can be easily mistaken for [[TheGruntingOrgasm something else.]] Belial would be proud.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable Kira Yoshikage]]. [[spoiler:Just like Kira, Lobelia also treats killing like something as normal as breathing, but is aware society is against his pursuits and thus leads a mundane life to avoid suspicion while secretly continues his killings, [[CollectorOfTheStrange keeping a special souvenirs after each deeds.]] He also has a stoic GuardianEntity that enables his destructive powers in the form of The Tower primal beast. His ultimate fate however is similar to [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureGoldenWind Diavolo]] in which he has to endure a loop of death and revive to experience another death, though unlike Diavolo he enjoys it and manages to escape his fate, [[TooKinkyToTorture somewhat.]]]]
** As a party member, he brings a strange cameo by working ''exactly'' like [[TabletopGame/MagicTheGathering a Planeswalker]]. He can only use one skill per turn, and they revolve around manipulating his "Magic Crest" charges in the exact same way loyalty counters work (+1/-5/-10, if you're wondering).
* FloralThemeNaming: A [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lobelia Lobelia]] in the language of flowers represents malevolence, connecting to his murderous intent.
* {{Foil}}:
** To Seofon of the Eternals. Both are the token human adult male of their group. Both have [[SmugSmiler annoying smug faces]]. Both are jokesters who often end up being the [[ButtMonkey butt of jokes]], but in reality they are [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass a lot more powerful than their silly antics suggest]]. Both are very guilty of GratuitousForeignLanguage (Seofon being Spanish, Lobelia being French). Both possess a rare variant of magic in which they are the sole user (Seofon with his spectral swords, Lobelia with his Audiomancy). Both also like collecting objects of their fascination. However, while Seofon is the embodiment of WithGreatPowerComesGreatResponsibility, Lobelia [[WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity holds no restraint]] in using his destructive Audiomancy magic. Seofon is a swordsman while Lobelia is a magician, Seofon deeply cares for his fellow Eternals and those he consider friends, Lobelia [[ItsAllAboutMe only cares about satisfying himself]], no matter the lives he kill in his pursuit of personal happiness. Even ''Grand Blues'' took notice of their similarity and thus featured them as the first [[http://game-a1.granbluefantasy.jp/assets_en/img/sp/assets/comic/episode/episode_1449.jpg Eternals-Evokers character interaction]] so far.
** To Threo of the eternals. Both are attack style Earth characters and obsessed with power. However, Threo sees power as a way to survive and live while Lobelia wants power so he can kill more people.
** He's also one to Niyon. Both are audiophiles who enjoy sounds and melodies, but while Niyon dislikes noises and loves gentle melodies from people like the captain, Lobelia takes joy from hearing the sound people made when he kills them, even keeping a collection of them.
** Interestingly, to his own Arcarum Primal Beast, The Tower. Both are destructive beings with great power that enable them to cause castatrophic destruction. The Tower was made by The Inchoate World in order to bring the destruction of the old world, in which The Tower sees as only a duty it has to fulfill and feels nothing special about it. In contrast, Lobelia was born into a relative normal life until his StartOfDarkness, and he treats causing destruction only as a way to satisfy himself, not out of any special mission or meaning. Lobelia reveres The Tower like a savior uplifting him from petty killings, The Tower however treats Lobelia like a tool for a mean, and it remains indifferent even when killing and reviving Lobelia repeatedly for failing to fulfill the price of its pact.
* GratuitousFrench: He loves to use French expressions whenever he can.
* TheHedonist: Lobelia is obssessed with the sound of pain, suffering, or more specifically - the sound of a dying person. It got to the point where he willingly torments and kills people just to record their sound and satisfy himself.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: He attempts to "test" Vyrn's sound in ''Grand Blues'' strip [[http://game-a1.granbluefantasy.jp/assets_en/img/sp/assets/comic/episode/episode_1397.jpg #1397]] with his Audiomancy. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), Vyrn is in the form of the horn...
* InstantRunes: Casually conjures circles of runes in mid air for his auto-attack animation.
* InsufferableGenius: Dubbed himself as "Lobelia, the greatest genius of a magician to ever grace the skies", and his mastery of Audiomancy can somewhat back up his claims.
* {{Invocation}}: Some of his spells are cast with words... in [[GratuitousFrench French]]!
* ItsAllAboutMe: When confronted by the crew, Lyria claims the people he killed in pursuit of happiness also have the right to be happy, in which Lobelia refutes by saying [[{{Hypocrite}} he's not enough of a push over to tend for others' need.]]
* ItWasWithYouAllAlong: The death sound that makes him the happiest turns out to be his own. Finding that out alone is enough for him to put an end to his SerialKiller way.
* LaserGuidedKarma: As the final price of his pact with The Tower, he is subjected to the very same methods of killing as his own victims, with The Tower regenerating him back from the brink of death. Somewhat subverted as he ''loves'' every second of it.
* LaughingMad: Tends to laugh out loud when he gets excited.
* MagicMusic: A variant. Lobelia is the sole user of a rare variant of magic he dubbed Audiomancy. He can record sounds and voices from people into conch shells, use his conch shells like telephone to communicate with others from a distance, and above all he can use his Audiomancy to kill people with extreme precision by the snap of a finger.
* MundaneUtility: [[spoiler: Uses his new ability to interact with the 'score' of existence to [[NotQuiteFlight air walk]] by touching the 'notes' of the air but not breaking them.]]
* NecessaryDrawback: His Renegade Firebrand skill is incredibly powerful, sending out a highly damaging thunderbolt for ''every'' skill cast by the party. Naturally, skills with a 0-turn cooldown will not trigger the thunderbolt.
* NotMeThisTime: In his ''Tales of Arcarum'' event, the crew is told about a gruesome serial killer and immediately assume Lobelia is the culprit since he knows the description of the victims and how he's been absent lately. The Captain is the first to object to the idea, since the serial killer in question loves collecting ears while Lobelia himself collects the sounds of his victims.
* NotSoDifferentRemark: With a dash of LeaningOnTheFourthWall. During their confrontation, Lobelia claims he and [[PlayerCharacter the Captain]] are alike in how they too can derive happiness from causing destruction when fighting the primal beasts inside the memories of the War. Vyrn and Lyria deny his claim, whether it's true or not depends on the player's interpretation.
-->'''Lobelia''': Surely you all know it to be true. (Player name) dealt out destruction countless times during the War, or at least a memory of it. No matter what enemies appeared, you laid them low effortlessly without a moment's hesitation.
-->'''Vyrn''': That's 'cause you fooled us! (Player name) wasn't just [[ForTheLulz destroyin' stuff for kicks!.]]
-->'''Lobelia''': But you did have fun, didn't you? Your heart raced, and you trembled with anticipation. Testing strategies on each powerful foe until-in the end-you could destroy it... [[WhatTheHellPlayer That was fun for you, wasn't it?]] You can be honest. That's what happiness is after all!.
* NotSoSimilar: When confronting the ear-collecting serial killer in his ''Tales of Arcarum'' event, Lobelia states they're cut from the same cloth as they're both [[SerialKiller serial killers]] that [[CollectorOfTheStrange collect stuff from their victims]]. He later proves himself wrong by showing the ear collector his own cycle of life and death, "tears" his ears off asking if he's happy looking at his own (also because Lobelia wanted retribution for him trying to cut off the Captain's ear), and later states that he doesn't understand the mind of a murderer after handing him over to the authorities.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: He's still pretty powerful before his pact with The Tower, capable of killing people only with a snap of a finger. After his pact with The Tower, he turned from a deranged SerialKiller into full on ''Mass Murderer'' capable of causing catastrophic destruction.
* PsychoticSmirk: As seen on his uncap artwork.
* PureIsNotGood: The game described his smile as "pure, boyish" even when revealing his true colors and grisly deeds to the Captain.
* SelfMadeOrphan: His murder spree started with his parents ''just so he could understand what their screams of pain would be like''.
* SerialKiller: He kills lots of people and keeps a collection of their death sounds. He has supposedly killed 200 people alone, and after making a pact with The Tower, he escalated into leveling ''towns'' to the point people think his aftermath was caused by natural calamities instead of the work of a single man.
* ShatterpointTap: [[spoiler: Returning to life lets him see the 'score' of existence, which appears as literal sheet music in his eyes. Messing with the notes in specific ways can cause untold, unblockable damage and destruction to whatever he pleases, including the World itself]]
* ShockAndAwe: Although an Earth-element character, his auto-attacks and skills activation take the animation of a lightning bolt striking the enemy.
* TheSociopath: Most Evokers have tragedies befalling them to make them who they are. Lobelia has none, he's already deranged from the start. Killing people and hearing their death sounds make him ''HAPPY''.
* StrongAndSkilled: For a maniac who gets off to the death sound of others, Lobelia is surprisingly skilled with his Audiomancy, not just for destroying people with extreme precision, but also to record voices, transmit messages in real time like telephone, even developing a {{Hammerspace}} to store his conch shell collection and somehow capable of creating a BodyBackupDrive complete with a nervous system. His pact with The Tower didn't turn him from weak to strong, it turned him from strong to even stronger. Where most Evokers fate episode have them summon their respective Arcarum Primal Beasts to combat the crew, Lobelia actually has the guts to fight [[BadassCrew the crew]] personally instead of relying on [[HumongousMecha The Tower]].
** Such is his genius that he can [[spoiler: '''reconstruct a destroyed primal's core''' using audiomancy and a bit of stolen power.]]
* TallDarkAndHandsome: A 181cm tall attractive young man with dark brown hair.
* TeenGenius: He was pampered and loved as the pride of his magician family thanks to his prodigious talent in magic before the event that made him kill his family in pursuit of happiness.
* TokenEvilTeammate: He is the TokenEvilTeammate of a group made of [[TokenEvilTeammate Token Evil Teammates]] compared to other Granblue character groups. That should say something about him.
* TooKinkyToTorture: In his first appearance, he was clearly enjoying every moment he gets hit by the bandits. He still also enjoys being killed over and over again by The Tower.
* {{Whatevermancy}}: He claims to be the inventor and the sole user of Audiomancy - magic out of sounds.
* WouldHurtAChild: Lobelia doesn't really discriminate in his killings, consider he has things like "Boy Playing on the Beaches of Auguste" and "Girl Living in the Woods" in his conch shells collection. He also stops the Captain from drawing their weapon by threatening Lyria's life.

The undaunted Chariot, pact bearer to the Arcarum primal beast The Star.
----
* ArmsAndArmorThemeNaming: His abilities are named after military weaponry:
** Howitzer Fist (Howitzer is a type of artillery)
** Panzerfaust (A German anti-tank weapon)
** Dreadnought (A battleship)
* BadassNormal: Geisenborger's strength is his own, forged by the pain of numerous battlefields he survived and endured. He's already a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield before becoming an Evoker. Even his pact with The Star doesn't make him an [[EmpoweredBadassNormal Empowered Badass Normal]], as his loss sense of pain serves more as a hindrance to Geisenborger than a benefit. Without his pact, he can still casually beat up wyverns and ride on them to meet up with the crew in their airship during his Fate Episode.
* BareFistedMonk: His fists are armoured, and his left arm is covered with steel but it's not a weapon [[spoiler:[[BodyHorror since it's only there to hide his decaying arm and keep it together.]]]] Geisenborger mostly fights using his own strength, fists imbued with The Star's [[LightEmUp Light magic]] and sheer [[ImplacableMan durability.]]
* BloodKnight: An infamous mercenary who participated in countless wars no matter which side. And this is before he made a pact with The Star. His hobby is even listed as War! Also a {{Deconstruction}}, as his fight-happy attitude and disregard for orders eventually turned away employers from seeking his service, and no one would ever want him to fight for them again.
--> Heh heh, the battlefield has always been my true calling.
* BodyHorror: As a result of not being able to [[FeelNoPain feel pain]], Geisenborger has neglected his body to the point where it literally falls apart during his battles and travels, with ''intenstines coming out'' as one of the effects.
* CombatSadomasochist: He ''really'' wants to feel pain in combat. It's his sole motivation.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: Leveling him to level 100 has Geisenborger [[spoiler:be free from the cursed effects of his armor, now wanting to live as a member of the crew and declaring the Grandcypher as his new home.]]
* FashionableAsymmetry: His left hand is fully guarded with steel plate, while his right arm is covered by his Evoker robe. [[spoiler:It serves to hide his [[BodyHorror decaying arm]] and to keep it functioning.]]
--> [[spoiler:Without steel to give it form, what's left can barely be considered an arm at all!]]
* FeelNoPain: His pact with The Star dulls his sense of pain [[spoiler:but it also left his body in a state of decay in time. His motivation is the ability to be able to feel pain again. This is later subverted when his lost sense returns after their pact is broken.]]
* {{Foil}}: To Eahta of the Eternals. Both are BloodKnight Draph warriors who live to fight, but while Eahta tries to part way with his obsession with strength and be a good parental figure to Fif and Narmaya, Geisenborger's pact with The Star makes him seek fights and wars even more just for the sake of [[spoiler:feeling pain again]].
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: Geisenborger's sole motivation is to feel pain again. His Charge Attack grants him The Star's Divinity buff, which gives him 50% Triple Attack rate boost, but also makes him take double the incoming damage. Under this buff, Geisenborger is so [[CombatSadomasochist delighted]] he can even do the impossible that no other Light character in the game can do: perform quadruple auto attacks.
* HiddenDepths: Geisenborger's love for war also extends to...battledore and shuttlecock?
--> No one has ever bested me in a game of battledore and shuttlecock... They call me the master shuttlecock handler! You chose the wrong game! Prepare to be crushed by the Chariot!
* ImplacableMan: Once his third ability, ''I'll Bet My Soul'', is active and he gains the ''Impregnable Fortress'' buff, until the buff duration ends, Geisenborger is literally unkillable and will keep coming back from all sort of lethal damage.
* IWorkAlone: Prefers to do things on his own and greatly values individual strength. [[spoiler:After being freed from his pact with The Star, he mocks the Primal Beast for being too weak to fight its battle against The Inchoate World and have to reforge its pact with him in order to do so.]]
* LightEmUp: His fists leave a trail of light everytime he throws a bunch. And he throws [[RapidFireFisticuffs a lot of punches]].
* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: [[spoiler:Nonchalantly twisted his own arm to make a point to The Star. He claimed [[OnlyAFleshWound it's just a flesh wound]], but the Captain, Lyria and Vyrn didn't buy his bullshit.]]
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: The only Light character in the entire game with the ability to perform quadruple auto attacks.
* TheNeedless: Geisenborger no longer feels the need to eat nor sleep after forming a pact with The Star.
* OddFriendship: Even though White Day 2022's stand-up contest is long over by the time his ''Tales of Arcarum'' event takes place, he continues his ''[[BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine manzai]]'' routine with Azazel and is successful enough for the pair to have their own tour.
* ProfessionalKiller: He worked as a mercenary before becoming an Evoker. Interestingly, the mission that led to the event that made him into an Evoker was an assassination mission behind enemy lines.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: His first ability, ''Panzerfaust'', has him do a barrage of fisticuffs for a total of ''17'' hits. Also his Charge Attack has him do this in conjunction with The Star's ''own RapidFireFisticuffs''.
* RedBaron: Infamously known in the Erste Empire and elsewhere as the Juggernaut for being able to push directly through enemy lines solely using his own bulk.
* SanitySlippage: [[spoiler:The time he spent without his sense of pain has put a toll on his sanity. He becomes so estatic when his sense of pain returns and starts attacking everything in sight, even going as far as attempting to rip his metallic arm.]]
* SenseLossSadness: Aside from his [[FeelNoPain sense of pain]], the Star also dulled his other senses. [[spoiler:However, he is still obssessed with the desire to feel pain again.]]
* SpectacularSpinning: Or in the case of ''Grand Blues'' strip [[http://game-a1.granbluefantasy.jp/assets_en/img/sp/assets/comic/episode/episode_1346.jpg #1346]], your spinning punch is stronger with fidget spinners spinning on your metallic arm.
* {{Synchronization}}: His reason for [[spoiler:reforging his pact with The Star despite initially against it. As he wants the Primal Beast to feel the same pain he feels.]]
* TheJuggernaut: His title and also the name of his support skill. Befitting his Arcana's name sake, Geisenborger have abilities to take and dish out huge damage like a battle tank. He's also the only Light character in game so far who can perform quadruple auto attacks (the multiattack cap stops at triple).
* {{Tsundere}}: Has his moments.
--> I have no intention of becoming your comrade, but having a base of operations will be useful...
--> (His birthday lines): So today is your birthday? Everyone seems to be busy preparing for it. Humph, I'm only on the ship so I can use it as a base of operations. I am not obligated to celebrate your birthday...But I'll at the very least say the magic words...Happy birthday.
* WhatIsThisThingYouCallLove: During his Fate Episode, Geisenborger visit a city with the crew. The soldiers from the city just returned from a war and are welcomed by their loved ones. Geisenborger expresses a lack of understanding why the soldiers are so eager to meet those who did not share their pain on the battlefield. [[spoiler:Later in the Fate Episode, he questions himself why despite being practically abandoned by his comrades in the event that made him into an Evoker, he still made a wish to the heavens to be saved and return to them.]]

* CainAndAbel: [[spoiler:She's the [[BitchInSheepsClothing Cain]] to her elder brother Katzelia.]]
* TheConfidant: Her maid Lette was one to her. [[spoiler:After her death, The Moon replaced her as Haaselia's confidant.]] In present day, she fills this role for her brother Katzelia as his attendant.
* CoolBigSis: Was seen as one by most of the orphans in the past.
* CrocodileTears: Her favorite trick when she tries to pass off as a child as shown in ''Grand Blues'' strip [[http://game-a1.granbluefantasy.jp/assets_en/img/sp/assets/comic/episode/episode_1290.jpg #1290]]. [[Characters/GranblueFantasyHumansAToE Claudia]] can easily see through her act though.
* DanceBattler: A FullContactMagic example. She dances as her auto attack animation, and The Moon summons lasers from portals to attack her enemy.
* DevelopersForesight: If you already have Haaselia recruited when doing Katzelia's fate episodes, she will say lines that confirm her prior acquaintance with the crew, implying the events in her Fate Episodes already happened. This also made her sit out for most of Katzelia's Fate Episodes, preferring to let the crew deal with his problems like how they did to hers. [[spoiler:It's implied she intentionally did this in order to soften Katzelia, making him more vulnerable to her future manipulations.]]
* FallenPrincess: Turned from a Princess of the Galgenia Empire to a fugitive on the run with her brother Katzelia. Thanks to his efforts, the people of the slum still calls her Princess as she becomes her brother's attendant.
* FriendToAllChildren: [[spoiler:She once ran an orphanage before she found out that the children under her care were put on experimentation and is later forced to flee with her brother due to conspiracies spun by their uncle]].
* {{Foil}}: To Feower of the Eternals. Both are water elemental characters and younger one of the two siblings in their respective group. [[spoiler:Both also have a deep grudge and anger on people who do wrong to them]]. Feower prioritizes keeping the kids and orphans living in Stardust Town safe above all else and wants power for that reason, but Haaselia [[spoiler:went for RevengeBeforeReason and wants her uncle to be punished in the most cruel way possible, subsequently failing to protect the children under her care]]. Feower's bond with his sister is positive and close, [[spoiler:given that despite Feower himself wanting to take a different approach of how he and his sister protect Stardust Town, he still respects her decisions]], [[spoiler:while Haaselia's relationship with her brother went sour as she had grown to dislike his passive take in their revenge]].
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: Her Cross-Fate Episode with Katzelia canonically takes place [[spoiler:after both of their fifth uncaps where Katzelia reclaims the throne, but the episode can still be played even if you haven't gotten their fifth uncap yet.]]
* GatheringSteam: Her playstyle revolves around the "moon phase" buffs she can give herself, like her associated summon does for the party. These buffs start off relatively weak, but increase in strength every turn as the displayed phase changes. Additionally, her passive skills grant increasing DEF and bonus damage to the team the longer she's on the front lines. These buffs do come out in full force right from the get go after uncapping her to 5-Star, however.
* GratuitousGerman: Aside from [[MeaningfulName her name]] having a related German word, Haaselia's Charge Attack is named Mondlitch which is German for "moonlight".
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: In order to combat her Uncle who manipulated others and killed his own blood-relatives for his ambition of becoming the Emperor, Haaselia [[spoiler:manipulates the heroes to help her, made pact with Primal Beast whose goal to destroy the current world is known for her, seeks to exploit her only brother and ally all for the sake of her ambition of becoming the shadow Empress.]]
* HiddenDisdainReveal: [[spoiler:The end of her level 100 fate episode has her finally reveal to Katzelia how much she hates his treatment of her, even telling him of her true intentions. Katzelia is understandably shocked, but not enough to ruin the pure affection he has for his sister.]]
-->'''Haaselia:''' [[spoiler:You ''really'' don't know anything about me, Brother. I'll use this opportunity to tell you once and for all. I've always... ''always hated you!'' Despite your talent for politics, all you spend your time on is music. Not to mention, you treat me like a child... If you think your overprotection is a form of kindness, then you're wrong! If I had talked to you about this, how do you think you would have responded? If it was just a lecture on how meaningless revenge would be, I'd be able to bear it. But knowing you, Brother... You would take measures to distance me from danger and solve the problem all by yourself--regardless of ''my'' wishes. Those kinds of things don't make me happy at all! I'm not someone who exists only to be protected! I hate all of that about you, Brother! I hate you, ''I hate you,'' '''I HATE YOU!''' '''''I HATE YOU SO MUCH!!!''''']]
* KillerRabbit: Has affinity with rabbits thanks to her name and connection to her pact primal beast The Moon. She also appears harmless and childlike enough for a [[LittlePeople Harvin]], enough for her to use herself as bait to lure a child kidnapper out in her first Fate episode. [[spoiler:She also considered [[{{Fingore}} bitting the fingers]] off said child kidnapper when he got a hold on her. And beneath her innocent mask, Haaselia is a cruel and manipulative person who's not above lies and betrayals to hide/complete her goals and plots.]]
* ManipulativeBitch: [[spoiler:She's a lot more shrewd and Machiavellian than her cute and small appearance suggests. Haaselia is extremely political savvy and has an ambition to become her kingdom's hidden Empress and rules behind the screen, pitting blame for the dirty works required onto her more [[CainAndAbel good-natured elder brother Katzelia.]] ]]
* MeaningfulName: ''Haase'' is German for hare, which connects to the Moon's rabbits.
* MercyKill: [[spoiler:By proxy through The Moon to Flek, a child in the orphanage she was taking care of. He asks her this himself since he has been brainwashed into an assassin sent to kill her maid Lette and Haaselia herself. Haaselia tearfully orders The Moon to perform the deed.]]
* OddFriendship: She and Moon have a great relationship, as seen in her recruitment episode.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Haaselia looks like a young child even by Harvin standards. At 22 years old, she's older than Maria Theresa and Nier, but both of them look more mature than her.
* PerceptionFilter: The Moon has granted her the ability to manipulate [[spoiler:people's perception of any given situation, allowing her to trick them into doing her wishes by letting them see what they want. In these situations, only Haaselia is aware of what is true. She used this to set up an illusion where nothing went wrong in her room after her assassination as Haaselia made her escape from the castle.]].
* PimpedOutDress: The dress that she wears underneath her Evoker robe.
* PoliticallyActivePrincess: Not much, but she still helped to keep an orphanage running and wished to earn favours from her father the Emperor to gain real political power in order to do more for the orphaned children. [[spoiler:A shame her uncle turned the orphanage into something more sinister that Haaselia is unaware of.]]
* RefugeInAudacity: The crew unexpectedly caught her in the middle of confiding with The Moon in her penultimate fate episode and started suspecting her, so what did Haaselia do to get out of this? [[spoiler:She went full on MotiveRant about her revenge and how she would use the crew as pawns to accomplish her revenge, even [[WeCanRuleTogether offering them]] a place in her empire if they agree to help her and let The Moon attack them when they refuse while she made her escape. After the fight, The Moon stayed behind to explain Haaselia's history to the crew. Somehow all of this worked as they felt sympathetic for her and thought she was breaking from the stress of her revenge. Months later, she sent a letter to meet up with the crew, and appealed to their sympathy to earn their forgiveness and joined the crew, with them completely unaware of her dark plots... that is, of course, save for the captain, who can chew her out for everything, and wouldn't be in the wrong for doing so.]]
* ReligiousAndMythologicalThemeNaming: Her first and second skills are named Boaz and Jachin respectively. As mentioned in Literature/TheBible, these are two copper pillars which stood in the porch of Solomon's Temple. Similar to how the two pillars represent polar opposites, her two skills are also colored black and white respectively, and casting one immediately puts the other on cooldown, which means only one among the two can be used at a time.
* {{Revenge}}: Against their uncle who played a role in messing with the siblings' lives.
* RevengeIsSweet: Her level 100 Fate Episode has her [[spoiler:finally exact vengeance on her uncle and all the people involved with the human trafficking, relishing in the slaughter. Zigzagged in that [[VengeanceFeelsEmpty she realizes that the innocent lives of her friends will never return,]] and attempts to kill herself out of despair. Only the timely arrival of Katzelia and the crew saves her life, deciding to continue her journey with the crew to find her own meaning in life.]]
* SiblingRivalry: One-sided, she has an intense dislike of her brother, Katzelia. Initially, it's because he treats her like a child and incapable of anything to do with her position as princess, despite actually being very capable. Later, it's [[spoiler:because she heavily dislikes his passive take in their revenge on their uncle. She eventually reveals her disdain against him in her 5-star uncap episode, though Katzelia doesn't hold it against her at all.]]
* SuccessionCrisis: Haaselia and Katzelia are both competing for the throne, although Katzelia is seen as the rightful heir by others.
* TamperingWithFoodAndDrink: She acts as poison tester for her brother to prevent this from happening. [[spoiler:Consider Katzelia's gentle nature, it's implied Haaselia volunteered to do this in order to earn favours from her brother for future exploits.]]
* TerribleArtist: Her profile states that she likes drawing even though she is actually really bad at it. She's aware of this as well, and likes people who aren't afraid to point this out to her.
* TokenMiniMoe: The only female Harvin among the Evokers.
* {{Tsundere}}: Post-fifth uncap, Haaselia acts this way [[spoiler:towards Katzelia. While she no longer openly despises him, she now actively avoids his gestures of doting on her, to his comical distress.]]
* WeCanRuleTogether: [[spoiler:She tempts the captain by offering them a spot near her should they help Haaselia ascend to the throne.]]

The merciful Hierophant, pact bearer to the Arcarum primal beast The Sun.
----
* TheAtoner: [[spoiler:After being saved by the crew after his attempted suicide, he decides to WalkTheEarth instead and save as many people as he can in his travels. Later, upon meeting with the crew again, he renews his pact with The Sun and they both become the atoners together.]]
* {{Cult}}: He's the leader of the Church of Renatus, a church that worships an unofficial [[ThePowerOfTheSun Sun Goddess]] (though initially not the primal beast The Sun). After becoming The Sun's Evoker, his belief in her is so strong he can warp reality for his Sun-Touched Paradise ability. The only other Evoker capable of doing this other than him is the obsessive Nier, implying this ability comes from his absolute faith to The Sun.
* DrivenToSuicide: [[spoiler:Upon realizing he was deceived by The Sun, he grabs a knife and slits his throat. He gets better, though.]]
* {{Foil}}:
** To Niyon of the Eternals. Both are compassionate people who wished to help others. Niyon with helping people out of their emotions and Alanaan with former criminals. But that's where the similarities end. As Niyon becomes more closed off to people due to her growing to dislike the dissonance of the sound of people around her, while [[spoiler:Alanaan continues to help and end up in a spiral of Self-Justification where he claimed that he is doing what he did for the greater good]].
** More hilariously, he's also one to Seofon. They are both founders of their respective organizations. However, while Alanaan is beloved by his church and has people gather before him without delay, Seofon is a ButtMonkey in his own organization with few even willing to respond to his invitations.
* GoodSamaritan: A kind soul who takes in criminals with nowhere to go into his church. He is also very adept at healing and has very powerful healing capabilities in his skill kit, lampshaded by his support skill, Benevolent Soul. He also expects this from his followers through his teachings. [[spoiler:In his final episode, he returns to this to atone for his prior sins, helping anyone he could and acted as mediator for two villages in conflict.]]
-->'''Alanaan''': They're headin' out to be good samaritans.
-->'''Lyria''': Good some-air-a-tins?
* GratuitousLatin: His Charge Attack is named Benedicto Solis, which translates to "Blessing of the Sun". His other Charge Attack, Flamma Aestatis, translates to "Summer Flame".
* HolierThanThou: [[spoiler:His perception of morality later became twisted, thinking that everyone except him is evil.]]
* {{Irony}}: [[spoiler:A church member mocked right to Alanaan's face the irony of his action's consequences - Alanaan helped reform criminals, but by accidentally killing a bodyguard threatening said church member, Alanaan himself became a criminal.]]
* JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope: [[spoiler:His first two murders were in self-defense, but the church member provoking him at a moment of crisis of faith is when he snapped.]]
* KnightTemplar: [[spoiler:He justifies his murder of one of his church members by claiming evil deeds done with good intentions to prevent further evil cancels out the actual act. And later adopt a mindset where he is the only righteous one in the world, and thus must [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt purge the current world filled with evil seeds]] in order to create his righteous paradise.]]
-->'''Alanaan''': [[spoiler:The Sky Realm is overrun with evil. There is no hope for it left-there is only despair!]]
* LaserGuidedKarma: [[spoiler:After he was driven into a spiritual crisis, Alanaan invoked this trope by punishing criminals using their own methods against them, such as murder, deception and blackmail.]]
* MistakenForPedophile: Hilariously mistaken as one by Lecia in ''Grand Blues'' strip [[http://game-a1.granbluefantasy.jp/assets_en/img/sp/assets/comic/episode/episode_1322.jpg #1322]] when he's praising the Sun (Goddess) together with fellow Sun worshipper [[LittlePeople Zahlhamelina]]. While she understands the misunderstanding, Lecia still writes him down in her shit list regardless.
* MutualDisadvantage: The DEF reduction from his field effect also applies to the party, and the enemy also has a boost to attack and the ability to deal critical hits against the player.
* RealityWarper: His Sun-Touched Paradise ability bathes the battlefield in the blazing heat of the sun for 8 turns, bestowing the party extra ATK buffs, reduces enemies's DEF and grants the ability to do CriticalHit regardless of the boss element. However...
* RousseauWasRight: Discussed in his 6th Fate Episode. He asked the crew about the nature of good and evil, whether people are fundamentally good or not [[spoiler:before expressing his current world view on how people are evil at heart and only he is the righteous one, and thus must create [[UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans a paradise for the righteous]]]]. Before becoming an Evoker, Alanaan himself is this trope, as he was a fundamentally good person at heart before the event leading him into becoming The Sun's Evoker.
* TheFarmerAndTheViper: Alanaan takes in former criminals into his church, hoping to reform them into good people. They don't and still commit crimes [[spoiler:even when he already killed the victims from self-defense to cover for them. So he kills the criminal, burn down the whole shop to hide evidence, and considered PayEvilUntoEvil [[JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope is a good deed.]]]]
* [[ThePowerOfTheSun The Power of The Sun]]: Alanaan derives power from The Sun primal beast as her pact bearer. He is a Fire elemental character. His abilities and Charge Attack are Sun-theme. His own vision of an ideal world is Sun-Touched Paradise - a world full of flowers bathing under the benevolent sunlight. His skill set also emobides both aspects of the Sun as a destructive force though his offensive buff/debuffs and as a gentle soul through his healing capabilities.
* UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans: [[spoiler:Alanaan adapted this mindset during the time he worked with The Sun, believing in creating a paradise by the righteous and for the righteous, [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt purging the evil old world in the process.]]]]
-->'''Alanaan''': [[spoiler:The end justifies the means, as long as it's for a good cause.]]

The all-ruling Emperor, pact bearer to the Arcarum primal beast Judgement.
----
* BrokenPedestal: His uncle was the inspiration for Katzelia to become a musician. [[spoiler:The same uncle is also the ring leader to the conspiracy that led to the death of his royal family, his orchestra members, children experiment and trafficking, and the self-exile he and his sister have to endure to escape with their life. Katzelia and his sister Haaselia made it their goal to overthrow him and return to their Empire as the rightful heirs.]]
* CainAndAbel: [[spoiler:He's the Abel to his younger but [[BitchInSheepsClothing shrewd]] sister Haaselia. He loves her thinking she's just his cute little sister, completely unaware of her darker nature and plot to pin her crimes for her path to power on him. Even when Haaselia reveals her disdain for him in her fifth uncap episodes, Katzelia still continues to love and accept her regardless.]]
* CartoonConductor: Though Judgement does provide some of the sound, Katzelia mostly conducts to an invisible orchestra in battle.
* CoolAndUnusualPunishment: Used the threat of one as a joke.
-->'''Orchestra Member 1''': You're not what I'd expect from someone born into the imperial family.
-->'''Katzelia''': Oh? Those are words of treason. I hereby sentence this criminal to stay after and continue practicing.
-->'''Orchestra Member 1''': Nooo! That's cruel and unusual punishment!
* TheEmperor: His arcana as an Evoker, and fifth royal heir of the Galgenia Empire. Amusingly, he has never been in the position of an Emperor, as he was still a prince before his Uncle's conspiracy forced him in exile. For the time being, he acts as TheGoodKing to the people at his slum as he attempts to reclaim the Galgenia throne as the rightful Emperor.
* FaceOfAThug: He is noticed to have one in ''Grand Blues'' strip [[http://game-a1.granbluefantasy.jp/assets_en/img/sp/assets/comic/episode/episode_1289.jpg #1289]]. Interestingly, his sprite in the flashback gave him a more gentle expression, implying his current face is the result of the stress of being in exile and seeking revenge on his uncle.
* TheFettered: [[spoiler:Unlike his sister, he wants to exact his revenge in a more orderly and moral way on his uncle.]]
* {{Foil}}:
** To Tien of the Eternals. Both are the older of the two siblings in their respective groups. They are also the primary caretaker of their small community (Tien to the orphans at Stardust Town, Katzelia as the King to people in his slum). Tien has a close relationship with her brother while [[spoiler:Katzelia's relationship with his sister grew sour]].
** Also a minor one to Niyon of the Eternals. Both are Wind element and compassionate Harvin musician of their group. But while Niyon mostly keeps to herself and prefers to play music in quiet places, Katzelia is quite a sociable person who loves conducting and performs with people who share his love of music, to the point of assembling his own orchestra with commoners, who he also treated as friends.
* FrameUp: [[spoiler:Due to his uncle manipulating the details from behind the scenes, Katzelia gets framed for two cases - The political assassination accusation which he saved a member from ''and'' the killing of his entire orchestra as a result of Katzelia [[NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished saving said member.]]]]
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: [[spoiler:The end of his Fate Episode has him realise he's more fit to be a musician than to wage war for the sake of revenge.]] And thus, his skill set has no nuke and damage ability. Both his active and passive skills are composed of defensive skills and buff skills with a some healing to his allies.
* GoodIsNotSoft: The more reasonable one of his siblings, and a TokenGoodTeammate candidate among the Evokers. [[spoiler:That doesn't stop him from lying to the crew to help Judgement's (and by extension, The World's) plan to destroy the Sky Realm for the sake of revenge.]]
* HonorBeforeReason: [[spoiler:While he does want revenge on his uncle, he wants to go through with honorable means than going for it actively with whatever means possible. Haaselia eventually beats him to it.]]
* IShallReturn: After joining the crew, he made a promise to Thomas, and by extension the slum people, that he will return to them after sorting things out in the Galgenia Empire.
* ImpoverishedPatrician: Granted, the current state of the slum where the exiled siblings living in is already better thanks to Katzelia's efforts, but despite being the King of the slum, he still complains about the quality of the meal served in the slum's canteen (which was able to open thanks to his efforts of bettering the slum in the first place), the same meal which Vyrn commented as tasty enough. Though his complain was not because of his high standard as a former Prince, but because he wants the slum people to taste better quality food, and make them fulfilled enough to eventually consider taking joy in music.
* ItsAllMyFault: He blamed himself for his shortcomings and lack of political interest which led to his and Haaselia' exile.
* KingOfTheHomeless: Katzelia is called King in the part of the slum where he takes refuge in. The slum people called him that because he didn't tell them his real name, but his efforts in teaching and helping the hoodlums get honest jobs and the betterment of the slum earned him their love and respect.
* MeaningfulName: ''Katze'' is German for cat, playing up his connection to Judgement.
* MisterBig: The Captain, Lyria and Vyrn certainly didn't expect the person the slum people revere as King is a normal [[LittlePeople Harvin]] man.
* MusicalAssassin: Uses a [[ImprobableWeaponUser conductor baton]] as a weapon. His abilities also are based on orchestral movements.
* MusicalThemeNaming: His skills are named after orchestral movements.
** First Movement: Bide
** Second Movement: Overwhelm
** Third Movement: Guard
* TheNapoleon: Surprisingly averted. You would expect a [[LittlePeople Harvin]] character with an affinity to The Emperor arcana as one of this. It turns out Katzelia is far from it, since he doesn't have a height complex unlike [[Characters/GranblueFantasyAntagonists Furias]]. Katzelia is also a gentle and compassionate prince who's not afraid to mingle with commoners, and even in his exile, still helps better the lives of the people in the slum he and his sister are hiding in.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: Katzelia became a victim of this. [[spoiler:Help one of your orchestra members free from an accusation of political assassination? The rest of your orchestra members get killed.]]
* NobleFugitive: Katzelia and his sister Haaselia exiled themselves from the Galgenia Empire due to the machinations of their Uncle. They took refuge in the slum of some far away city, in which Katzelia rules over as King of the slum people. [[spoiler:In Katzelia's final fate episode, he reveals that after the fight with the crew, he finds himself and his sister being hunted by pursuers from their fatherland, and has to ask Thomas to help them seek asylum in the Captain's crew.]]
* {{Revenge}}: Against their uncle who played a role in messing with the siblings' lives.
* RightfulKingReturns: His ultimate goal is to return to the Empire as the rightful Emperor and dethrone his uncle - the usurper. He originally wanted to do it in a pretty bloody way until his final fate episode changed his mindset to a more peaceful one. [[spoiler:His fifth uncap eventually has him reclaim the throne.]]
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Had his own orchestra which he used for benefits of the Empire. He and his orchestra received praises from his father the Emperor for their performance to pleases leaders of the smaller nations within the Empire and dispelled the gloomy mood caused by the deaths of his royal family members. Even in his exile and thus no longer royalty, he still put efforts in teaching and helping hoodlums of his slum to take in honest jobs and improve the community.
* SiblingYinYang: Katzelia is more outspoken compared to his reserved and gentle younger sister Haaselia. [[spoiler:In reality, his ability to listen to reason and his compassion made a huge contrast to Haaselia, who's secretly a cruel person whose personal vendetta make her seek to exploit even her own brother for her goal.]]
* StoneWall: Katzelia is not really an offensive-oriented character. What he lacks in his offensive power, he compensates by a kit loaded with defensive buffs and damage decreasing ability from his charge attack, allowing Wind to play the sustain game for difficult raids. [[note]]As proof of his defensive ability, Katzelia is a core member for the [[https://twitter.com/unyu0707/status/1157944674352451584 first successful attempt]] at soloing [[ThatOneBoss LuciliusHL]].[[/note]]
* SuccessionCrisis: Haaselia and Katzelia are both competing for the throne, although Katzelia is seen as the rightful heir by others.
* TamperingWithFoodAndDrink: He was on the receiving end of this, and if not for the intervention of Judgement, he would have been killed by the poison wine sent to his orchestra. The incident scared him so much he refrains from eating untested food and drink without a poison tester in present time.
* UniversallyBelovedLeader: Was very beloved by the commoners and especially members of his orchestra (which was also composed of commoners). Even in his exilement, the people of the slum where he's hiding absolutely adore and revere him as King, thanks to the things he did for their community. [[spoiler:This is the reason why his sister Haaselia seeks to exploit him by helping him become the Emperor in her place, and uses his love for her to become the shadow Empress.]]
* WhatsUpKingDude: He was still a Prince back then, but Katzelia didn't demand any formality and considered himself as a fellow commoner when spending time with the members of his orchestra made up of commoners. They even call him Katze instead of his full name.

* ContractualBossImmunity: Each of the Arcarum bosses is immune to certain status debuffs (some of which overlap with the others and may vary depending on the difficulty of the battle) as listed below. Specifically, all except Judgement are immune to Gravity.
** Justice is also immune to Petrified (in Normal only)
** Death is also immune to Paralysis and Lethal Hit
** The Devil is also immune to Break Boosted (Damage), Break Boosted (Time) and Petrified (the latter is in Hard only)
** The Tower is also immune to Comatose and Charmed (the latter is in Normal only)
** The Star is also immune to Blinded and Petrified (the latter is in Normal and Hard only)
** The Moon is also immune to Blinded, Charmed and Petrified
** The Sun is also immune to Blinded, Charmed, Delayed, Paralyzed and Petrified
** Judgement is immune to Delay, Petrified, and Comatose
* DefeatEqualsExplosion: Like Bahamut, the Arcarum have a unique defeat animation in which they explode instead of fading.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: [[spoiler:Being defeated in their respective Evoker's Fate Episode free the brainwashed Arcarum Series Primal Beasts from The Inchoate World's control, and after reforging their pact, they and their Evoker join the crew in order to fight against The Inchoate World.]]
* DisappearsIntoLight: In-story only. An Arcarum beast breaks down into white grains of light when defeated.
* GhostMemory: The Tarot Cards that contain them also hold their own memories of The War, and the normal skyfarers including the Evokers can enter these memories to run battle simulations.
* GratuitousEnglish: The beasts' names are spoken in English.
* GuardianEntity: They are quite similar to [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure Stands]] and Franchise/{{Persona}}s in terms of [[TarotMotifs inspiration]], lore and function as they serve a specific individual. However, they are treated as Summons in-game.
* HealingFactor: A trait common to all Primal Beasts, including the Arcarum. Death even grants this to Nier, healing the latter's wounds after forming a pact.
* LivingOnBorrowedTime: [[spoiler:The Arcarum Series are this. All of them were fallen Primal Beasts from the War. Being revived and reformed from recycled cores of other Primal Beasts left them more fragile than normal, thus they make pacts with fitting vessels like the Evoker to sustain themselves and materialise. Losing the pact can make them fade away and disappear from life.]]
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Aside from having a higher Summon Call Damage and other strengths as listed under PurposelyOverpowered, the Arcarum also have a unique damage modifier in a sense that their summon calls do not ignore the damage resistance of slimes unlike all of the other summons in the game.[[note]] For instance, Bahamut can kill a Silverslime despite doing a measly 4-digit damage thanks to ignoring the enemy's defense, yet Death's Deadly Thirteen can't kill a Silverslime despite doing up to more than a million damage against most enemies, that output will be greatly reduced when used against slimes.[[/note]]
* OlympusMons: Like the other Primal Beasts, they can be obtained via special requirements and can be used like other summons in-game, but with [[PurposelyOverpowered added benefits]]. Lore-wise, they are summoned via a Tarot Card.
* PurposelyOverpowered: With the amount of time and resources required in order to fully upgrade an Arcarum summon, this trope is fortunately in effect, rewarding the player for their efforts; All Arcarum summons have higher base stats compared to the Omega summons, they are also the first batch of summons to provide Sub-Auras - secondary effects that take effect only when the Arcarum is set as a sub-summon. Aside from the Main Summon Aura, these bonuses allows them to have versatile benefits. Their Summon Calls also deal a tremendous amount of damage that considers the captain's skill damage buffs and the enemies' defense debuffs, easily dealing up to 850,000 damage (or more) per cast. Lastly, their cooldowns are reduced with each subsequent upgrade, and a fully-upgraded Arcarum can even be cast at Turn 1 if their element matches that of the captain's.
* RandomNumberGod: The chance for a specific Arcarum to appear as the final boss of Stage 9-3 in each entry point is determined by this trope. Fortunately, the player may use a Globe of the Starways to freely select the summon that they want to fight.
* RageAgainstTheHeavens: After being created by the Astrals, they eventually decided to flee their masters and being manipulated by them to create a new world from scratch.
* RestartTheWorld: Before creating a new world from scratch, their goal includes destroying the current one.
* RedHerring: [[spoiler:Most of the Evokers seek for your help under the initial impression that you can stop their respective primal beasts from going on a rampage and save the current world. But it turns out, the Evokers are actually working with the beasts, and are only inviting you inside the GhostMemory stored in the Tarot card for the Arcarum Primal beasts to run battle simulations and gather data.]]
* SatelliteCharacter: Most of the Arcarum primal beasts share the same ideals and goals with the Evoker they are [[BondCreatures celestially bound]] to. However, the Evokers are given the most characterizations and backstories in the updated Fate Episodes for "Arcarum: The World Beyond".
* SealedEvilInACan: The Inchoate World, along with its fellow Arcarum Primal Beasts were sealed in several pictures confiscated from the Erste Empire before an intruder breaks in the Hall of Enforcers and awakens them.
* TarotMotifs: Their appearances and behaviors are based on the second half of the Major Arcana Tarot Cards.
* TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: [[spoiler:After being freed from The Inchoate World's brainwashing, all of the Arcarum Series Primal Beasts make it their goal to take down The Inchoate World. The only exception is Death whose goal is align with Nier and Death herself never got brainwashed to begin with, though she does intend to fight The Inchoate World if he betrays her and Nier.]]

The leader of twenty-two Apostles of light and darkness, it aims to create a new world by overthrowing Skydwellers, Primals, and Astrals alike. It invites Lyria to Sephira, the promised land, to help it do so. It is celestially bound to the Wheel of Fortune.
----
* AGodAmI: Calls itself a god, despite being simply a primal beast.
* TheBlank: It doesn't have any facial features, neither does its appearance in the tarot card behind it.
* BadBoss: [[spoiler:It implanted nine out of ten Arcarum Primal Beasts with controls over their will to make them do its bidding. When they are freed from their brainwashing, most of them immediately plot to defeat The Inchoate World.]]
* CelestialBody: A closer look at his seemingly pitch-black figure would reveal stars glittering inside him.
* ElementalPowers: Its summon rotates between which element it boosts depending on the day of the week.
* EvolvingWeapon: Its Astral creators made it with the ability to learn and evolve.
* {{Hypocrite}}: It, together with the Arcarum Primal Beasts, rebel against its Astral creators from what it deems "inescapable destiny of being produced, manipulated, and oppressed", yet [[spoiler:it recreated the Arcarum Primal Beasts from recycled cores of other Primal Beasts, brainwashed them to make them its servants against their will and use them to manipulate the Evokers to help its plan of creating a new world.]]
* MookMaker: Its most dangerous ability is the ability create new [[PhysicalGod Primal Beasts.]]
* RealityWarper: It is fully capable of changing the world as it wishes and is one of the very few beings that can go toe-to-toe with ''Bahamut''. It is also evident in his boss battle as some of his attacks involve punching the fabric of space, shattering it like glass to reveal a BlankWhiteVoid in the cracks.
* SmugSnake: He clearly thinks of himself as an all-powerful god even greater than [[spoiler:Bahamut]]. To his credit, he did create the Arcarum Primal Beast series and can warp reality. Despite this, [[spoiler: he's still destroyed by the evokers and the main crew with much less effort than one might expect for a "god".]]
* WhamLine: [[spoiler:The Inchoate World reveals its goal of overthrowing Bahamut, subtly mocking the dragon and indirectly asks Lyria to join them.]]

The eleventh Major Arcana, represented by a woman wielding a sword and set of scales. It is celestially bound to the Empress.
----
* BalanceBuff: Originally, Justice's effect from being called as a summon balanced the party's HP, but she was later buffed to do that and then additionally heal the party.
* BalancingDeathsBooks: [[spoiler:Justice kills Maria Theresa, who saved the captain's life.]]
* {{BFS}}: The sword of Justice is longer than her arms.
* BoobsAndButtPose: As seen on Maria Theresa's uncap art.
* TheCameo: Made a brief appearance as a summon by Lyria in Percival's spin off manga Granblue Fantasy: Souken no Kizuna.
* HairWings: Justice has three pairs of large feathers resembling wings that are protruding from both sides of its head.
* JusticeWillPrevail: Its central theme, as stated in the summon's description.
--> "Its balance directs the path toward equity, forcing objectivity upon conflicting powers."
* EquivalentExchange: As Justice fulfilled Theresa's desire in the past, Theresa believes that she must help accomplish Justice's desire in return, and it is something that is enforced with her pact to the primal beast.
* NavelWindow: While it's covered in her summon art, Theresa's uncap art shows that the outfit of Justice bares her navel.
* ScalesOfJustice: The Justice Arcarum is clearly based on Lady Justice having the balance and the sword, but with the absence of a blindfold.
* SituationalDamageAttack: Its Remembrance ability deals plain damage equal to 50% of the target's max HP if that target has the Unrighteousness debuff.
* TakeUpMySword: The previous pactbearers of Justice had to find a successor to which she would be bound to:
** Charles VI was the first pactbearer. His dedication to the prosperity of the empire was unwavering. [[spoiler:Because he didn't have a male heir, he dedicated his time teaching Theresa the ways of an emperor. As he lay ill, he spoke his last words "I ask that you devote your entirety to my dearest Theresa" to Charlotte. This is the pact that Justice made with her.]]
** [[spoiler:Duchess Charlotte Fuchs continued the pact following the emperor's promise as she became a handmaiden who watched over Maria Theresa ever since. But she willingly passed Justice's Tarot to Theresa, because she believed that the Arcarum will save Theresa even if it costs Charlotte's life by passing the card to others.]]
** Theresa's pact requires her to help the beast to gather a crucial data that isn't known yet in history - [[spoiler:What if someone capable of changing history dies before fulfilling their supposed role?]]
** Theresa's Level 100 Fate episode reveals that [[spoiler:the previous emperors of Loma had made a pact with Justice for generations and only those contracted by Justice can be considered as the true ruler of the Loma empire. The councilmembers usurping Maria Theresa and then make Marianna the LivingFigurehead were unaware of this fact, so when Justice presents herself to the citizens, with Maria Theresa and Marianna's mother confirming that Charles VI had introduced Justice to her before as Justice declares Maria Theresa the true ruler, they are dumbfounded.]]
* UselessUsefulSpell: Justice's Call Effect forces your individual members' HP equal to the average HP of the team, either by healing or damaging them. It may be very beneficial on Stamina or Enmity grids for keeping your entire party alive, or for helping characters who don't have Stamina/Enmity boosting skills. But for other grids and weapons not utilizing these two mechanics, a self-damaging ability can put your team in a bad position.

----
* AnimeHair: Just like his Evoker, the Hanged Man's hair is very spiky.
* ChainedByFashion: The humanoid form of the Primal Beast is hanging upside-down, chained to the dragon by his ankle.
* CharacterNarrator: He narrates the fate episodes about Caim's past.
* TheGadfly: [[spoiler:In Caim's recruitment Fate Episode, his interactions with Lyria and Vyrn spoke and hint him to be a jokester contrasting the originally serious Caim]].
* GravityIsPurple: One of his attacks makes him summon a blackhole with a purple hue on its rim.
* GravityMaster: Aside from those listed under GravityIsPurple and GravityScrew, The Hanged Man is obviously immune to the Gravity status ailment.
* GravityScrew: To somehow complement The Hanged Man's upside-down position, his stage is filled with endless rocks floating upwards in reverse gravity.
* HumansAreSpecial: [[spoiler:The Hanged Man thinks so as he says that the world maybe unfair but he likes to see how people grow stronger from dealing with hardships and become better people. He also thinks that it makes things fun]].
* RandomEffectSpell: Its Call, Golden Dawn grants a random buff effect to Earth allies.
* TokenGoodTeammate: While Hanged Man is one of the few Arcarum Primals that has a positive relationship with the person he formed a pact with, [[spoiler:he and the Sun are both on the morally good side of the Arcarum Primals, with the Sun being genuinely benevolent once the brainwashing on her wears off. Hanged Man, meanwhile, is very sympathetic to the plight of humans and [[HumansAreSpecial wish to see them overcome their hardships]]. 772
The thirteenth Major Arcana, represented by an elegant bearer of demise. It is celestially bound to the Lover.
----
* ThirteenIsUnlucky: By casting Deathly Thirteen, the Death Arcarum boss will start the battle with "Death Sentence" buff on itself. If Death is not defeated, it will instantly kill [[TotalPartyKill all party members]] after [[DeathsHourglass 13 turns]].
* BalanceBuff: Aside from the much-needed [[FourIsDeath guaranteed targeting for the 4th party member]], the June 2019 rebalance patch also buffed its "Boost to triple attack rate" from being percent-based to being guaranteed. The buff has also been increased to 2 turns for its lower uncap levels.
* TheCorrupter: Very downplayed. She suggests that to Nier that the only way she could be loved again is to kill her sister Corrie, but it's all but stated that Nier already ''had'' that idea in mind, and Death merely gave her a slight nudge.
* CoolMask: Her white mask.
* CreepyCrows: The Death Arcarum can inflict the "Ill Fortune" debuff which makes the character more likely to be targeted. It has a black crow with a red eye as its icon.
* DeadlyHug: Death grants Nier's suicide by hugging her and stabbing her with a scythe in the process... Subverted in Nier's recruitment fate episode where it turns out that Nier is alive.
* FailedASpotCheck: It's unknown if whether this is intentional or not, but according to Nier, Arcarum Series were created with restrictions on them to prevent them turning on The World. Death has no such restriction of this, so she can rebel against him, and as one who governs [[GrimReaper Death]], has the ability to kill him.
* FourIsDeath: After the June 2019 [[BalanceBuff rebalance patch]], Its updated Call effect is to kill off the fourth Dark party member in the lineup in exchange for a guaranteed party-wide Triple Attack buff, which lasts for four turns at Death's 4★ uncap and higher.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: Her Summon Call animation starts with the eyes of Death's mask glowing pink in the darkness.
* GrimReaper: Well, it is a humanoid Primal Beast representation of the 13th Major Arcana, and it has not one, but two scythes. This also includes life. Nier's recruitment Fate Episode reveals that Death revived her some time after granting Nier's suicide.
* HiddenEyes: It wears a mask, and the only visible part of Death's face is its chin.
* InsaneTrollLogic: Its reason for reviving Nier after helping her commit suicide.
-->It is because I love yoo... that I killed yoo... Yet it is also because I love yoo... that I did not want to kill yoo.. Now I can kill yoo again... So happy.. So sad... Which is it? I don't know... I wish I did...
* LoveMakesYouCrazy: Evident in its introductory cutscene, this personification of Death appears to be deranged, and is desperately seeking for someone to love it. Being bound to the yearning Lover has something to do with this.
--> "Will yoo love me?\
Love... Mee... Love... Me... Please... If you say no...\
Koo kee... Ooh kee koo kik kek kok koo koo kekeke..."
* MeaningfulEcho: Prior to the 5th Anniversary update, Death's "Please... won't... anyone... love.. me..." implies that something is strange with the Primal Beast. With the inclusion of the Evokers' episodes, it is revealed that the phrase actually originated from Nier's almost last-words just before she forms a pact with Death.
* NavelWindow: While her dress covers her hips, it still bares her abdomen area, as seen on Nier's uncap art.
* NoBiologicalSex: Technically speaking, Death has no definite gender despite having feminine traits and even a female voice. The localization opts to refer to Death as both "it" and "she" on multiple occasions.
* OmnicidalManiac: Towards those who won't reciprocate Death and Nier's love.
--> '''Death''': My beloved... If the world will not love us, then we must return the favor by destroying it.
* OnlyFriend: To Nier, the only person willing to give and reciprocate Death's love.
* PimpedOutDress: Death wears a huge black-and-red gown.
* PowerAtAPrice: The primary gimmick of its Summon Call. By [[SomeoneHasToDie killing an ally in the fourth position]], the rest of the party members will gain guaranteed triple attacks for 4 turns.
* SinisterScythe: It has twintails taking the form of scythes.
* SpeechImpediment: Death lets out a mad stuttering every time it expresses intense emotions, such as joy from being accepted by Nier, and agony from rejection. In the English dub, this is rendered as its tone of voice suddenly shifting to a shrill [[EvilSoundsRaspy rasp]] whenever it's enraged. It also has a tendency to render the word "you" as "yoo".
* StoneWall: It starts the battle with the Death Wish buff on itself, which provides Death with a 90% damage cut similar to Luminiera's Aegis Merge. However, this boss actually has the weakest ''base'' defense of them all, and the buff weakens by 20% every time one party member dies. By the time five party members die, the buff disappears and the player might notice that Death turns out to be a GlassCannon instead, receiving much more damage than it used to.
* UndyingLoyalty: She is fiercely loyal to Nier, and will kill anyone who dares to hurt her.

The fourteenth Major Arcana, represented by a winged woman. It is celestially bound to the Hermit.
----
* CooldownManipulation: Its Charge Attacks Blue Oath and Red Oath change skill intervals to the targeted party members.
* EmotionSuppression: True to the meaning of her Tarot Card, Temperance represents a sense of calmness. She is able to do this to other people, like Estarriola.
* IdenticalStranger: Over the years of being pactbound to her current Evoker, Temperance is gradually becoming more similar in appearance to [[spoiler:Estarriola's deceased wife.]] His 5-star uncap shows Temperance [[spoiler:gradually taking on more aspects of a Harvin.]]
* MathematiciansAnswer: She has a habit of answering with only Yes or No.
* NavelDeepNeckline: Her outfit has a plunging neckline that just barely reaches her midsection.
* StatusBuffDispel: It has two Charge Attacks that can remove debuffs on itself, or remove buffs on your party members.
* UselessUsefulSpell: Temperance's Call Effect casts a debuff on both the enemy and some members of your team which prevents the affected unit from using charge attacks or one-foe attacks. The June 2019 [[BalanceBuff rebalance patch]] reworked this, slowly reducing the number of "Restrained" StatusEffects on your team with each subsequent summon upgrade. At 4★ and above, Temperance will no longer inflict this debuff on your team, fully averting this trope.

----
* BigRedDevil: The Devil Arcarum, complete with a demonic appearance, horns and fire-based attacks. It also has four arms. It is also as mean as it looks. [[spoiler:Subverted, as it turns out The Devil's malicious actions were caused by The World's brainwashing, and it is extremely ''pissed'' about it and seek to destroy The World.]]
* BoringButPractical: Its summon call effects aren't impressive, especially compared to The Sun. That said, it brings attack and defense debuffs which stacks with skill debuffs such as Miserable Mist. This allows players to get other skills as they can easily cap their debuffs with this and Mist alone.
* DealWithTheDevil: Literally. Fraux adviced the captain to beware of its temptations.
* EvilFeelsGood: Its description states that "innocents [are] tempted to draw near [it]".
* InstantRunes: While it doesn't reveal the entirety of its body, The Devil uses magical rune-portals that allow it to use its upper body and arms.
* JackassGenie: Fraux wished for it to [[spoiler:destroy the world [[DeathSeeker along with her]]. After its revival, The Devil fulfills her wish...by attacking Fraux first.]]
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: It has four arms. Based on its appearance in the card and summon, one pair of arms is larger than the other pair.
* PlayingWithFire: Its summon call inflicts Red Heat, a unique variant of the Burn debuff.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: Its color theme is red and black (or greyish if you will). What else would you expect from an entity named "The Devil"?
* VoiceOfTheLegion: If it isn't obviously already by the fact that it is voiced by three actors. The Devil Arcarum's voice is a synthesized combination of male and female voices.

[[quoteright:350:[[AC:Standing by.]]]]

The sixteenth Major Arcana, represented by a humanoid fortress. It is celestially bound to the Magician.
----
* BishonenLine: The Tower gains a more humanoid appearance in Lobelia's fifth uncap, with a more defined face.
* DynamicEntry: While the rest of the Arcarum Primal Beasts talk to the Captain first before engaging into a fight in their introductory cutscenes, The Tower makes its entrance known by staying silent for a bit... and immediately punching the captain. Fortunately, our protagonist gets away before the attack connects and bolts out Vyrn and Lyria from the shockwave.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: Its summon call, Callous Fist gives the Towering buff to the summoner (which is usually the captain). But if Lyria's playable version is in the party, the buff will be given to her instead, because she is the one who performs the actual summoning. Thus, following the call's description perfectly.
* GratuitousEnglish: The only one out of the Arcarum series and the entire Japanese cast of the game to solely speak English. Averted in Lobelia's fifth uncap, where he now speaks in Japanese.
-->''(summoning animation)'' [[AC:You shall fade into oblivion.]]
* HumongousMecha: While The Tower is described as a calamitous fortress, it's practically a giant robot.
* InLoveWithYourCarnage: [[spoiler: Once both are conscious again while fighting the World, Tower and Lobelia essentially exchange vows to never be satisfied again, and to always seek each other's and greater destruction in general.]]
* MightyGlacier: It has absurdly high defense and its attacks hit like a truck. It's also slower than a dying turtle. This trait also [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration reflected in gameplay]] with his boss fight, which he starts with 7 charge diamonds and doesn't auto attack normally, but instead casts his powerful Callous Fist attack every 2 turns.
* MikeNelsonDestroyerOfWorlds: The World created The Tower to fulfill the role of its destroyer. Its stoic nature means it holds no malicious intent about it and only seeking to do what it was created for. The reason why it has yet to fulfill its role is because there is no fitting vessel to become its Evoker. It waited for ''aeons'' until Lobelia appeared [[spoiler:because he caused enough deaths and destructions to fit the criteria, not because of any personal attachment or pity like other Arcarum summons.]]
* NotSoStoic: [[spoiler: Getting a voice reveals he shares in Lobelia's sheer revelry in destruction, and is quite eloquent in the process of describing how no one else could satisfy them.]]
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Befitting its Arcana's meaning, The Tower is a force of primal destruction. [[spoiler:It destroyed the town Lobelia was in simply by ''appearing'' and later lent him its power to destroy other towns with the force of natural calamities.]]
* TheQuietOne: Hardly say anything outside of battles. [[spoiler:It remains completely stoic even when subjecting its Evoker to the many deaths and destruction Lobelia caused.]]
* ShouldersOfDoom: Its "pauldrons" look more like pillared buildings.
* SuddenlyVoiced: Downplayed, but as mentioned above he gains a japanese voice [[spoiler: upon his reconstruction and revival using Lobelia's genius and the World's stolen power. He's actually quite vocal and speaks to the crew without restraint. The captain, Lyria, and Vyrn are quite surprised.]]
* TheUnfought: PlayedWith. The Tower is fought as a boss in Arcarum mode, but not in [[spoiler:its 5-Star SSR summon uncap; you fight Lobelia instead of fighting against The Arcarum summon like the other Arcarum summons]].
* YouHaveFailedMe: The price of its pact. [[spoiler:If its Evoker fails to destroy something, they will be punished by experiencing every single death and destruction they caused, and if they die during the process, The Tower revives them to continue the punishment.]]

* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Its skin is greyish-blue like a stone.
* BadSamaritan: It saved Geisenborger when he made a prayer to the heavens in the brink of death. Yet it [[spoiler:took Geisenborger's sense of pain as a mean to manipulate him into doing The Inchoate World's bidding.]][[spoiler:Subverted, as it is under The Inchoate World's brainwashing and can't go against his will.]]
* FragileSpeedster: Its summon call provides a buff can turn the party into this, allowing them to hit multiple times more easily at the cost of taking more damage. It can also do this as a boss, and if the player has a good party setup, it may become a case of a HelpfulMook.
* HeadbuttingHeroes: Geisenborger absolutely hates its guts and his hate only gets more vocal over the span of his Fate Episode. The Star's attitude about him is largely indifferent. Nonetheless, they still team up to help defeat The World after reforging their pact.
* HopeSpringsEternal: Its description states that this Arcarum takes the form of a luminous hope, and its bolts become the beacons of paths unknown.
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: The Star has long flowing blonde hair.
* ShoutOut: One of The Star's attack, [[RapidFireFisticuffs Stardeath]], is just like [[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure another character]] based on the Star tarot.

The eighteenth Major Arcana, represented by a lunar warrior. It is celestially bound to the High Priestess.
----
* BrutalHonesty: Ironically, considering how much he's associated with lies.
* TheCorrupter: [[spoiler:At the end of Haaselia's Fate Episode, The Moon suggests Haaselia to take on the role of the shadow Empress of her Empire and make her brother the puppet Emperor and the scapegoat to the bad aftertaste that comes after executing her Uncle. Somewhat downplayed as Haaselia happily complies to his suggestion with hardly any difficulty.]]
* {{Foreshadowing}}: The description text of Moon's idean makes no sense until you learn [[PerceptionFilter what his ability is.]]
* ILetYouWin: [[spoiler:Haaselia noted that The Moon went easy on the crew during their fight in her Fate Episode. He replied that it's simply a test to see if he's still being restricted with limitations implanted by The World. When he found out he's no longer The World's servant, victory no longer has any meaning to him.]]

The nineteenth Major Arcana, represented by a child glowing inside a sphere. It is celestially bound to the Hierophant.
----
* TheAtoner: [[spoiler:She is manipulating Alanaan for her personal reasons. However, when Alanaan returns to the crew and reforms his pact with The Sun, the primal beast returned to her duty of blessing humanity with success, The Sun's original role before The World remade her.]]
* BoobsAndButtPose: As seen on Alanaan's uncap art.
* ExactWords: [[spoiler:The Sun deceives Alanaan by only telling him what he wants to hear. She actually couldn't care less about what Alanaan does in the name of his church.]]
* ExtraTurn: Its Summon Call grants the Double Strike buff to your party members, which essentially functions like this trope, by giving them the ability to perform two attack instances per turn.
* LightIsNotGood: She calls herself an eternal fixture that only exists to shine. Yet those beams and rays she brings with herself only exist to scorch ''everything'' to ash and expose every single aspect of someone in incredibly minute detail. [[spoiler:It's ultimately subverted when she is freed from The World's control.]]
* ThePowerOfTheSun: As the embodiment of this Arcana, she throws around several solar-themed attacks like Plasma Shooter and Coronal Ejection. She even has her own variant of Flare, ''Primal'' Flare.

[[quoteright:350:''"From two ends, there can only be one. Bear witness to your own sentencing."'']]

The twentieth Major Arcana, represented by a trumpeting chorus of cats. It is celestially bound to the Emperor.
----
* AffectionateNickname: Katzelia calls it Demon Cat (Bakeneko in Japanese version).
* AnimalMotifs: Cats
* BackFromTheDead: True to what the card represents, the Judgement is stated to have the ability of resurrecting the dead from their eternal slumber. It also takes effect in-game, as its Summon Call Verdict Sphere randomly revives one Wind party member.
* YourDaysAreNumbered: Unfortunately, those revived by Judgement will be placed with a Sentenced debuff, which will ''knock out the member'' after a few turns. The debuff cannot be cleared nor dispelled, which forces the character to die when the debuff's counter runs out.
