In the 50 years that have passed since ''The Last Hope'', the canon ''Franchise/WarriorCats'' characters have joined the ranks of [=StarClan=]. Of course, it wouldn't be ''Warriors'' without numerous characters, so ''Golden Dawn'' brings in its own large crew of replacements.

[[folder:The Main Trio]]
!!Leafpaw
->"I am Leafkit, [=WindClan=]'s fiercest warrior. I don't care who you are or what your reasons are. I will never allow anyone to hurt my Clanmates!"

One of the three main point of view characters. Leafpaw is the silver medicine apprentice of [=WindClan=]. She is quite intelligent, able to pinpoint weaknesses in other cats at a glance, but also incredibly impulsive, often acting on thoughts the moment she comes up with them. At first, she believed that the Clans were composed entirely of heroic good cats and bad cats that did evil for no reason. However, she's slowly changing her point of view.

Will eventually receive the name "Leafdew".
----
* ActionGirl: She has her fair share of fights. The very first thing she does in the fic is win a fight.
* BlackAndWhiteMorality: She believes that all enemies of the Clans deserve death. At the end of Chapter Three, she seems to be growing out of it.
* {{Determinator}}: She doesn't let anything hold her back.
* GeniusBruiser: She's fairly strong, and uses both her strength and strategy to win fights.
* HeroicBSOD: She has a minor one after Slash and his rogues beat her down.
* ISurrenderSuckers: She does this without intending to. During her fight with Slash, she realizes that he is much stronger than her and accepts his offer to come with him quietly. However, while walking towards him, she notices how soft the earth is, and decides to flick it in his eyes to blind him.
* [[KidHero Kit Hero]]: She's only four moons old at the start of the story, yet she sets out to do heroic things like stopping the rogues.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: She actually takes Slash up on his offer to come with him quietly after realizing that she can't beat him.
* LargeHam: She tends to be very over the top and cheesy when she gets excited. While she's calm, she's usually much quieter.
* LeaderWannabe: Her dream is to become Clan leader. Or was, as she is now determined to become a medicine cat.
* TheMedic: In Chapter 9, she decides to become a medicine cat.
* ObliviousToLove: She completely fails to notice Eaglekit's attraction to her.
* SherlockScan: She can break down the individual strengths of a cat after trading only a few blows with them, as seen in her fight with Slash.
* SignificantBirthDate: She was born on the day that Bonetail started his rebellion.
* TheSmartGirl: She wins her battles with strategy, wants to study everything, and tends to analyze everything.
* ToBeAMaster: She dreams of becoming Clan Leader.
* WideEyedIdealist: Starts as one, though, she becomes more pragmatic after going through some traumatic events.

!!Tidepaw
->"Everyone always overlooks the happy ones. The ones who sulk stand out, but nobody ever thinks that someone so cheerful could be so broken inside."

One of the three main point of view characters. Tidepaw is an upbeat [=RiverClan=] she-cat who never lets anything get her down, despite recent misfortune. At least, that's what she pretends. In reality, Tidepaw hates herself, and hides dark secrets which she believes would cause her Clanmates to hate her.

Will eventually receive the name "Tideflower".
----
* ActionGirl: She fights frequently, taking on Bear in Chapter 2 and Darkclaw in Chapter 4.
* BeneathTheMask: She seems to be an excitable and upbeat she-cat, but that's a false persona she uses to prevent her Clanmates from hating her.
* BreakTheCutie: She seems broken beyond repair. However, we don't actually know what made her that way.
* DarkSecret: She has one, but it's only been hinted at. In Chapter 8 [[spoiler:part of her secret turns out to be that she killed her father, Quailfeather.]]
* DeclarationOfProtection: Promises to protect Brightpaw, since she believes that it's the only worthwhile thing she can do.
* GenkiGirl: She pretends to be an energetic and optimistic she-cat.
* HealingFactor: The wounds she received during her fight with Bear have mysteriously healed by the time she leaves the Gathering Island.
* HeroicBSOD: In Chapter 4, when Darkclaw wounds Brightpaw. She manages to snap out of it when her mentor Graywave tells her that Brightpaw will be okay.
* MurderMakesYouCrazy: In Chapter 8, it's revealed that [[spoiler:a great deal of her self-loathing and depression stems from her guilt over killing her own father.]]
* MysteriousPast: Something happened to break her so hard. It involves Darkclaw, but the rest has only been hinted at.
* OhCrap: In Chapter 4, when she realizes that she has a {{healing factor}}.
* {{Patricide}}: Darkclaw reveals in Chapter 8 that [[spoiler:the rogues did not in fact kill Tidepaw's father Quailfeather. He was killed by Tidepaw herself.]]
* PluckyComicRelief: She pretends to be this.
* PromotionToParent: She has had to care for her sister Brightpaw ever since her father was killed by rogues and her mother went missing.
* SadClown: Her plucky and humorous nature is just a ruse for her misery.
* ScarsAreForever: She has a noticeable scar across her forehead. It's still as fresh as when she first got it, which perplexes Sunstorm.
* StepfordSmiler: She's faking her cheerfulness to deal with trauma, and to give Brightpaw someone to lean on.
* StepfordSnarker: Seems like a snarky joker, but she's really incredibly miserable and hates herself.
* SympatheticMurderer: In Chapter 8 it is revealed that [[spoiler:she killed her own father, but since she's a point of view character, the reader gets to see just how much she hates herself over it.]]

!!Darkclaw
->"Is it arrogant of me to want the she-cat who birthed me to give a simple sign that she loves me?"

One of the three main point of view characters. He is the son of [=ShadowClan=]'s leader, Duskstar, and his distance from her causes him great stress. He is very bloodthirsty, but his deepest desire is to be acknowledged by his Clan. He has some sort of history with Tidepaw. He was also the one who discovered the body of her father Quailfeather, who was killed by rogues.
----
* AntiHero: He does care for his Clan and is firmly on the side of the good guys, but he's also extremely violent and a jerk.
* ArchEnemy: To Tidepaw.
* AxCrazy: He often forgets everything except his bloodlust. Creamfur and Owlflight have had to snap him out of it.
* BerserkButton: Talking about how he was mentored by Bonetail sets him off into a rage.
* EarNotch: Tidepaw tears his ear in Chapter 4.
* HotBlooded: He's completely obsessed with battle, and goes charging into it without thinking.
* ItsPersonal: Thinks this about his conflict with Bonetail because he feels that his former mentor betrayed him more than the other Clan cats with his rebellion.
* {{Jerkass}}: Tidepaw sees him as one. His point of view shows us that she's right, as he constantly insults other cats and has serious temper problems.
* MysteriousPast: Something happened between him and Tidepaw, and it serves as a driving source of conflict.
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: He wants to be the one to defeat Bonetail, and doesn't want anyone else getting in the way.
* PostVictoryCollapse: After defeating Bonetail, he falls over due to the injuries he was ignoring.
* RoyalBrat: He will not shut up about being the Clan Leader's son. However, he's doing it because of issues with his mother.
* SecretKeeper: In Chapter 8 it is revealed that [[spoiler:he knows that Tidepaw killed her own father]] and [[spoiler:even though he hates her]] he hasn't told anyone else.
* SheIsNotMyGirlfriend: Several cats (such as Stonepaw and Toadclaw) suggest that Snowcloud is basically his mate. He fervently denies it. (With good reason, since being mates with a medicine cat is against the code.)
* ShipTease: Just to troll the audience, he has gotten relationship hints with quite a few cats.
** Hopepaw: He wanted to be her mentor, and they realize how much they understand each other in Chapter 8 and start rubbing against each other.
** Snowcloud: She's the only cat he considers a friend, they always talk with each other at Gatherings, he apparently went to Foxwhisker and asked her to take him to see her, and he is obsessed with her in his flashback.
** Owlflight: In Chapter 8, she goes out and looks for him in the middle of the night and tells him that she wants to fight alongside him. Also, she says that he used to be cute. Additionally, she made his nest for him when he was a kit, and he feels slightly jealous when she's interacting with Lionfur.
** Tidepaw: They used to be friends, and despite how much he claims to hate her he still carries her to a medicine cat when she gets injured in a battle.
** Glace: He attacks her at first, but afterwards he hears her out when she starts talking to him, and it's mentioned that he trusts her.
** Creamfur: Redclaw tries to set him up on a date with her. He agrees to it, but with [[spoiler:the fire throwing a wrench in their plans]], it's unclear how things will turn out.
* SlasherSmile: When attacking Brightpaw in Chapter 4.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: While not a villain (yet), Darkclaw is sarcastic, violent, revenge obsessed, and has a temper problem. When he was a kit, however, he was a lot meeker, more sincere, and less violent. His change in temperament seems to come from losing many cats close to him.
* WellDoneSonGuy: He strives to earn the approval of his mother Duskstar, but finds it hard due to the distance between them.
* YouCanBarelyStand: Sort of. Bonetail's beating makes it incredibly painful for Darkclaw to move, but despite Sootstain's advice, he chases after Bonetail and still manages to defeat him.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Windclan]]
!!Snowcloud
->"Is that what you really believe, Bonetail? Because you're wrong. There is always something worth fighting for. We all have things that we have to protect!"

[=WindClan=]'s medicine cat. She went from apprentice to a full medicine cat at eight moons, because her mentor was killed by a passing fox. She's best friends with Darkclaw.
----
* ActionGirl: Not usually, but she does help Tidepaw fight Bear during the Gathering Island Battle.
* ActuallyIAmHim: Tidepaw mistakes her for the [=WindClan=] medicine apprentice. However, Rainpaw is the one to do the correcting.
* BigDamnHeroes: She saves Tidepaw from Bear in Chapter Two.
* CelibateHero: As a medicine cat, she can never have a mate.
* CombatMedic: While a medicine cat, she is also trained to fight.
* TheMedic: She's [=WindClan=]'s medicine cat.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She acts fairly rude to some of her Clanmates, but Leafkit mentions that she is nicer than she seems and doesn't mean any harm.
* LeaderWannabe: Hawkkit tells Leafkit that ''she'' will be the one to become Clan leader, because in their litter, she is the fastest.

!!Gustkit

Leafkit's brother. Looks like his father, but doesn't share the dream of being Clan leader which is common in his family.
----
* ButtMonkey: Can't control his speed, which leads to him often being hurt by himself and others.
* IdiotHero: He's not the brightest of the kits. One time he even thought that deathberries were good for rat bites.

* PosthumousCharacter: The rogues killed him a week before Tidepaw's first point of view chapter. [[spoiler:It's later revealed that he was actually killed by Tidepaw.]]

* TheMedic: He is the medicine cat of [=RiverClan=], so he's good with herbs and healing.

!!Graywave

Tidepaw's mentor and one of [=RiverClan=]'s brightest strategists. Knows something about Arise.

!!Risingwave

A tortoiseshell tom who was [=RiverClan=]'s deputy during the time of the Sky Avengers. He betrayed the Clans to gain more power, but was killed by Darkclaw's father Blackfur.
----
* ConfusionFu: Had an unorthodox fighting style which won him many fights due to his unpredictability.
* NumberTwo: He was [=RiverClan=]'s deputy until he betrayed the Clans.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Shadowclan]]
!!Duskstar

[=ShadowClan=]'s leader, and the mother of Darkclaw and Cherrynose. She had her kits when she was deputy, but was forced to leave the Nursery when her predecessor died. Nowadays, Darkclaw struggles to earn her approval.
----
* BackFromTheDead: Loses a life in the final battle against Bonetail and his rogues, but she has nine lives so she's okay.
* EnemyMine: Agrees to work with Otterstar and [=RiverClan=] to take down Bonetail.
* KilledOffscreen: In Chapter 8, she loses a life to Bonetail's rogues offscreen, and Darkclaw is informed of it after it happens.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She refuses to help [=RiverClan=] in Chapter 2, but in Chapter 7 it turns out that she had some of her warriors take food to [=RiverClan=].
* TheLeader: She's the leader of [=ShadowClan=].
* ParentalNeglect: She hardly spends any time with her son Darkclaw, which causes him to have issues.

!!Redclaw
->"I'll keep walking this path, as long as it leads me to further strength."

[=ShadowClan=]'s deputy, mate to Lilymist, and father of Owlflight and Shrewfang. Spent four moons as Darkclaw's mentor after Bonetail turned against the Clan. He doesn't agree with his leader's decision to abandon [=RiverClan=].
----
* TheMentor: Was previously mentor to Darkclaw.
* NumberTwo: He's the deputy of [=ShadowClan=].
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: He wants to help [=RiverClan=] with their food problems.

!!Foxwhisker
->"Heroic tales of fancy would only serve to cause impressionable young rat-brains like you to make stupid decisions in an attempt to emulate the Heroes of Prophecy."

[=ShadowClan=]'s medicine cat. She is sarcastic, and enjoys picking on Darkclaw.
----
* BigDamnHeroes: When Darkclaw is getting beaten down by Bonetail in Chapter 8, she saves him by calling out to Bonetail and luring him away.
* CelibateHero: She isn't allowed a mate because she's a medicine cat.
* DeadpanSnarker: Tends to be dryly snarky. An example from Chapter 8 comes when she is trying to lure some rogues into a trap.
-->'''Foxwhisker''': "I'm just a harmless medicine cat out for a walk. It sure would be a shame if something happened to me."
-->Rogues surround her.
-->'''Foxwhisker''': "Oh, the predictability."
* TheMedic: She is the medicine cat of [=ShadowClan=].

!!Sootstain
->"It won't be any trouble for an experienced warrior like me."

One of [=ShadowClan=]'s warriors. He's Bonetail's brother, and is somewhat grumpy.
----
* AscendedExtra: Introduced as a minor character, but gets more important in each chapter he appears.
* IKnowYouAreInThereSomewhereFight: Tries to bring the noble part of his brother back by defeating him in battle. However, he fails and Darkclaw is the one to defeat Bonetail.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Darkclaw is very surprised when Sootstain actually begs him to save Bonetail, because Sootstain is usually very grumpy and aloof.
* StarCrossedLovers: He and Scaleshine, a [=RiverClan=] she-cat, fell in love and had kits together, but they're apart now. Those kits are Skystorm and Grasstail of [=RiverClan=] and Creamfur of [=ShadowClan=].

!!Hopepaw
->"The Winds of Death can never be cheated."

A small white she-kit (now Owlflight's apprentice) who often bothers Darkclaw. She can somehow tell when cats will die with a mysterious power known as "The Winds of Death".
----
* CatchPhrase: "Oh my frog!"
* CheerfulChild: Alternates between this and CreepyChild. The cheerful part comes out when she's talking about frogs.
* CreepyChild: Alternates between this and CheerfulChild. The creepy part comes out when she's talking about the Winds of Death.
* HoldYourHippogriffs: Does this to the terminology of the Clans themselves by saying "Oh my frog" instead of "Oh my [=StarClan=]".
* TheUnfavorite: In Chapter 8, she mentions that her mother Webnose seems to love her brother Blazepaw more than she loves Hopepaw.
* WaifProphet: She can tell who will die due to the Winds of Death. And she's a kit.

!!Owlflight
->"We need strategies so that we don't fight like disorganized rogues."

One of Darkclaw's Clanmates. She has appeared a few times throughout the story.
----
* TheStrategist: Redclaw has her work over some strategies for fighting Bonetail.

!!Creamfur

The daughter of Sootstain and Scaleshine, making her half [=ShadowClan=] and half [=RiverClan=]. When she was young, she ran away from [=RiverClan=] to join [=ShadowClan=]. Seems to have a crush on Darkclaw.
----
* CurbStompBattle: When they were kits, she defeated Darkclaw before he could even make a move.
* HeroicBastard: She's a loyal and kind warrior who just happens to be a halfClan.
* ShipTease: Redclaw suggests to Darkclaw that she likes him.

!!Fernheart
->"Bonetail thinks of you like a son. Look after yourself, okay?"

Bonetail's mate. Died four moons before the story began, on the night of a Gathering. Her death drove Bonetail over the edge, and caused him to hate medicine cats.
----
* CynicismCatalyst: Her death was what caused Bonetail to snap and turn against the Clans.
* TheLostLenore: Bonetail mourns the death of his mate greatly. It's the basis of his entire rebellion.

!!Lionfur
->"I told you all I could be a hero!"

The [=ShadowClan=] cat that Darkclaw hates the most. Considered one of the Clan's worst warriors, Lionfur believes that with stubbornness and determination, he can become the greatest warrior ever.
----
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Redclaw says that while Lionfur isn't that smart and he loses all the time, when his friends are threatened he becomes a force to be reckoned with.
* IdiotHero: Strives to be a hero, but is kind of a moron. At one point, he even mistakes a rogue Darkclaw is fighting for a squirrel.
* TheRival: He's the cat Darkclaw hates most. They consider each other adversaries and frequently fight.

!!Lilymist
->"You're my little warrior. You know that, right?"

The mother of Owlflight and Shrewfang, as well as the foster mother of Darkclaw and Cherrynose after Duskstar had to leave the Nursery. Overall a kind and caring mother. She died at some point between Darkclaw's apprenticeship and the beginning of the story.
----
* DeceasedParentsAreTheBest: She was an awesome mom, but she's dead.
* TheLostLenore: For her mate Redclaw, who still lives and grieves for her.
* ParentalSubstitute: Raised Darkclaw and Cherrynose after Duskstar had to leave the Nursery and take the role of Clan leader.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Thunderclan]]
!!Sunstorm
->"I am not Clanborn like the cats gathered here. The animosity the Clans hold for each other is not burned into my blood. I serve the medicine cat code, which tells us that all four Clans are worth fighting for."

[=ThunderClan=]'s medicine cat. Despite his undying loyalty to his own Clan, he cares for all the Clans, protecting them for hardship.
----
* AwesomeMcCoolname: Tidepaw even goes on a rant about it.
* CelibateHero: As a medicine cat, he can never take a mate.
* DeadpanSnarker: He's both polite and sarcastic at the same time.
* HeroicSacrifice: Proposes that he could make one by giving himself up to Bonetail in exchange for the freedom of the other medicine cats.
* TheMedic: He's one of [=ThunderClan=]'s Medicine Cats.
* MysteriousPast: He claims that there's quite a story behind his name, but he never elaborates. In Chapter 5, he's revealed to be a former kittypet. This probably has something to do with it.
* NiceGuy: He brings herbs to [=WindClan=] simply because he thinks they might need them.

!!Lightningblaze
->"Must you always be so theatrical?"

A grumpy [=ThunderClan=] warrior. Many Clan cats believe that he murdered [=ThunderClan=]'s former deputy Whisperwing so that his niece Sandstone could be deputy.
----
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He may be prickly, but he does agree to share herbs with [=WindClan=], and Leafkit notices that he is surprisingly soft around Snowcloud.
* MysteriousPast: Did he really kill Whisperwing or did something else happen? No one knows for certain.
* OnlySaneMan: He's bothered by the antics of the other cats.

!!Hazelfrost
->"Your Clan of traitors and murderers can collapse on itself. And then, you'll die just like everyone else."

A violently insane she-cat who was formerly a member of [=ThunderClan=]. After attempting to kill Sandstone, [=ThunderClan=]'s deputy, she fled to the mountains. She's working with Arise, but WordOfGod states that she is not The Deliverer.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: Interlude 1 is about her failed attempt to kill the [=ThunderClan=] deputy Sandstone.
* AxCrazy: She's crazy, and violent, especially when she attacks Sandstone.
* BrokenPedestal: She decided that she hated Jaytalon after he refused to let her kill Sandstone.
* ChekhovsGunman: She seems like a random minor character in Chapter 6, but then Interlude 1 reveals that she's working for Arise.
* TheCuckoolanderWasRight: At first, she seems insane when she says that Sandstone killed her mother. Then it turns out to be true.
* DarkSecret: She killed her brother.
* HearingVoices: She hears many voices talking to her. Some, like Whisperwing, are imaginary, but she also hears the voice of Arise.
* {{Revenge}}: She spends most of Interlude 1 ranting about taking revenge on Sandstone.
* TheRunaway: She flees [=ThunderClan=] at the end of Interlude 1.
* YouKilledMyMother: The reason she wants to kill Sandstone is because she has been led to believe that Sandstone murdered her mother, Goldenfoot. Then it turns out that it's true.

!!Thornstar

[=ThunderClan=]'s leader. He's significantly less important than the other Clan leaders.
----
* HeroicBastard: He's a [=halfClan=].
* TheLeader: He's [=ThunderClan=]'s leader.
* MinorMajorCharacter: He's a Clan leader, but he only has a single line so far. In Chapter 5, he gets a second line, and that's all.

!!Sandstone

[=ThunderClan=]'s current deputy and Lightningblaze's niece. Always dreamed of becoming leader, and was appointed deputy after the Whisperwing's death. Some cats suspect foul play behind her appointment.

In Interlude 1, she was attacked by Hazelfrost, who believed that her mother Goldenfoot had been killed by Sandstone. She was rescued by Jaytalon before anything could happen, however.
----
* LeaderWannabe: Her dream is to become Clan leader. She has a good shot at, considering her current status as deputy.
* NumberTwo: She's currently [=ThunderClan=]'s deputy.
* OhCrap: Has this reaction when Hazelfrost attacks her.
* TheRival: Due to both wanting to be leaders, she and Jaytalon are naturally rivals.

!!Jaytalon

A [=ThunderClan=] tom that dreams of being Clan leader. Thornstar, [=ThunderClan=]'s current leader, and Whisperwing, the elderly deputy of [=ThunderClan=], both thought he was the best choice for deputy. Whisperwing was planning to retire as soon as Jaytalon became a mentor and could be appointed deputy. However, Whisperwing died before Jaytalon could receive an apprentice (leading many to suspect that she had been murdered by Lightningblaze), forcing Thornstar to select the next best choice, Sandstone, as deputy.

Jaytalon was later given an apprentice named Mousepaw. However, Mousepaw disappeared shortly after becoming an apprentice. Whether Lightningblaze or the rogues were involved in Mousepaw's disappearance has yet to be seen.
----
* BigDamnHeroes: In Interlude 1, he shows up to save Sandstone from the AxCrazy Hazelfrost.
* LeaderWannabe: More than anything else, he wants to be leader of [=ThunderClan=].
* TheRival: His desire to be leader makes him one to Sandstone.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Watcher's Crew]]
!!The Watcher
->"Oh, I won't be satisfied until I make the ground run crimson with the blood of the Clan cats, but yes, this is a start."

A mysterious figure who seeks the destruction of the Clans. His plans involved tracking down the enigmatic tom known as Arise. Although his identity is unclear, he has apparently committed a deed so horrible that even thinking about it would be an enormous crime.
----
* BigBad: He's the menacing figure manipulating the characters in his attempt to destroy the Clans.
* TheChessmaster: He's apparently pulling the strings of the Clans. His plans also seem malleable enough to account for problems. When the Deliverer kills one of the kits she was supposed to bring to him, he explains that instead of screwing him over, she may have improved the end result.
* EvilPlan: He has one, and it somehow involves abducting and killing newborn kittens.
* TheFaceless: Who is he? What does he even look like? The audience has no clue, and outside of the Deliverer and Arise, it's unlikely that anyone in universe knows who he is, or even that he's plotting anything.
* HiddenAgendaVillain: All we know is that his plan involves killing two kits named Nix and Aurora, and that the Clan cats are in danger because of it.
* HiddenVillain: We know that he is a Clan cat, but we don't know who he is, or even which Clan he's in.
* IntroOnlyPointOfView: He has a point of view in the prologue, but he's not a main character like Leafkit, Tidepaw, or Darkclaw.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: The prologue simply calls him, "The Watcher".
* TheWatcher: He seems to be watching over the Clans with an evil plan in mind. It's also what the prologue calls him.
* WouldHurtAChild: He is last seen unsheathing his claws to kill a newborn kit named Aurora. It somehow fits into his master plan.

!!The Deliverer
->"I apologize. There were two kits, but I had to throw the one that the mother called Nix into the river. She gave chase, you see, so I thought that it would deter her if I drowned one of her brats. You do not know how ''heavy'' they can be until you try to steal a pair."

A she-cat working for The Watcher. As part of his plan, she kidnaps two newborn kits. Her true identity is confirmed to be a character that appears somewhere in the first six chapters, and isn't Hazelfrost.
----
* ChildHater: She despises kits and compares them to maggots. She also gloats over killing Nix and wanted to kill Aurora because she just hates kits that much.
* DarkActionGirl: Stealing kits and performing daring escapes from their mother is all in a day's work for her.
* TheDragon: To The Watcher.
* TheFaceless: Who is she? What Clan is she from? What does she look like? The only thing that we know about her is that her true identity appears somewhere in the first six chapters and that she isn't Hazelfrost.
* HiddenVillain: She's confirmed to have appeared somewhere in the first six chapters, but her identity is unknown. However, she is known to be a Clan cat.
* WouldHurtAChild: She throws a kit named Nix into a river, causing it to drown. She also begged the Watcher to let her kill Nix's sister Aurora.

!!Arise

A mysterious tom who wields great power. He plays some sort of role in The Watcher's plan. He has also been manipulating Darkclaw.
----
* DragonWithAnAgenda: It's clear that he has his own plans other than what the Watcher gives him. He even goes behind the Watcher's back and messes with his spike thing.
* TheDreaded: The cats that know of him seem pretty scared of him.
* IntangibleMan: When Darkclaw tries to attack him in Chapter 8, he passes right through him.
* ManipulativeBastard: He has been seen manipulating Hazelfrost and Darkclaw to his own ends.
* ShroudedInMyth: Only a few cats know about him, and even then the truth about him is unclear.
* VillainExitStageLeft: He seems to vanish into nowhere after he's done talking with a cat. Apparently he's teleporting.

!!Nightmare Walker
->"I am merely a guardian and a consumer of dreams."

Jayfeather's counterpart in the Three of Shadows, three dark versions of the original Three. While Jayfeather protects dreams, the Nightmare Walker consumes them.

It fought in the Echo Wars long ago, but during the final battle, it was turned to crystal by the power of the Song of Stones. However, its crystal vanished, and it resurfaced years later as a servant of the Watcher. Its true purposes are unknown.
----
* AffablyEvil: Unfailingly polite to Leafpaw (it's probably the most formal speaker among the cast), but also tries to harm her in some way.
* AmbiguousGender: Referred to only as an "it". If it had a gender though, it would probably be a tom, considering that it's a Jayfeather copy.
* BloodMagic: Tries to use some sort of "blood blinding" on Leafpaw, although aside from Jayfeather saying that its bad, the nature of it is unknown.
* DreamWalker: Like Jayfeather, it can walk in dreams. Unlike Jayfeather, it eats those dreams.
* EvilCounterpart: It is Jayfeather's dark counterpart among the Three of Shadows.
* EvilTwin: Other than its glowing red eyes, it looks exactly like Jayfeather.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: The Nightmare Walker's glowing red eyes are what first alert Leafpaw to its presence.
* TakenForGranite: Was turned to crystal during the Echo Wars. However, the crystal vanished, and it returned seemingly unharmed.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: An in-universe example, in that nobody has any clue what happened to its crystal. However, it was evidently freed, as it appears before Leafpaw in [=StarClan=].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Rogues]]
!!Bonetail
->"How strange. Don't you Clan cats pride yourselves on your rules and regulations? Yet when I come for a visit, I see you squabbling like a bunch of restless kits."

A former [=ShadowClan=] warrior, who left to form a rebellion against the Clans. He commands an army of rogues, which he promises will be used to wipe out the Clans if he doesn't get what he wants (that being the Medicine Cats). There's more to him than he lets on, but only Snowcloud has tried to figure out his motives.
----
* AlasPoorVillain: There's an emphasis on how noble he once was when he dies.
* AttackOfTheTownFestival: He crashes the Gathering in Chapter 2 so that he can give the Clans a demonstration of his rogue army.
* BerserkButton: He hates medicine cats.
* BigBad: At least for the beginning of the story. He had a personal connection to Darkclaw and his rogue army was a major threat to the Clans, but he was taken care of in Chapter 8.
* CainAndAbel: He's an enemy to his brother Sootstain and sister Foxwhisker. Both of those two go through much stress about fighting their formerly heroic brother.
* CurbStompBattle: His fight with Darkclaw in Chapter 6. After the setup in Chapter 5 you'd expect some kind of showdown, but instead he effortlessly knocks Darkclaw aside.
* DiscardAndDraw: He throws his battle against Moorwhisker's patrol so that he can take the Clans by surprise at the Gathering.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: Appears to be the BigBad, or part of a BigBadEnsemble with the Watcher. Then he dies in Chapter 8.
* EvilMentor: He was Darkclaw's mentor before he betrayed the Clans. Darkclaw hates him because of this, and wants to be the one to defeat/kill him.
* EvilPlan: He has one involving the medicine cats.
* FallenHero: He used to be very noble, but he fell to the dark side after his mate Fernheart died.
* FreudianExcuse: He wants the Medicine Cats because he's angry at them for failing to save his mate, Fernheart.
* LaResistance: He runs an evil one against the Clans.
* LargeHam: According to Tidepaw, it seems as if "the earth itself would move to accommodate for his grandeur".
* LaughingMad: In Chapter 6, during his crazed rant to the [=ShadowClan=] group, he laughs with glee when he sees that Dawnfern, one of the cats he wants to kill, is with them.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: The "Bone" half of his name does not signify a nice guy.
* NeckSnap: Dies in Chapter 8 when Arise snaps his neck.
* {{Revenge}}: He seeks revenge against the Clans, especially the Medicine Cats. Snowcloud believes this to be because he is angry at them for failing to save his mate.
* VillainExitStageLeft: After ranting at the Clan cats in Chapter 2, he leaves the Gathering Island without fighting. It's justified because he had a large army of rogues blocking off the Clan cats.

!!Slash[=/=]Reedfur
->"Do you believe that love can last beyond one lifetime?"

Bonetail's new second-in-command, replacing Frost after he fled from the Clans. He used to be a [=RiverClan=] warrior named Reedfur, but he left the Clans so that he could be with his true love, Whitefeather of [=WindClan=]. Formerly the mate of Willowfern, making him the father of Copperpaw and Streampaw, and the adoptive father of Rainpaw.
----
* BattleCouple: With his mate, Whitefeather.
* DefectorFromDecadence: He left [=RiverClan=] after they shunned him for loving a cat from another Clan.
* TheDragon: To Bonetail, replacing Frost.
* DragonAscendant: He takes over Bonetail's rogues after Bonetail dies.
* EarNotch: When Leafkit first sees him, she notes that he has a notch in his ear.
* FreudianExcuse: He used to be a member of [=RiverClan=], but they shunned him when he fell in love with the [=WindClan=] she-cat Whitefeather. Together, they joined Bonetail's rogues, where they weren't looked down on for being together.
* IcyBlueEyes: Leafkit notes that he has "icy blue eyes" which seem to look right into her soul.
* MeaningfulRename: He changed his name from Reedfur to Slash when he joined Bonetail's rogues. His mate Whitefeather still calls him Reedfur, however.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Leafkit even jokes about it by pointing out that Slash is a fairly intimidating name.
* NumberTwo: He's Bonetail's second in command.
* StarCrossedLovers: With Whitefeather. Or so the Clans thought.
* WakeUpCallBoss: His fight with Leafkit taught her that she had to train harder if she wanted to fight rogues. [[invoked]]
* WouldHurtAChild: He was perfectly willing to beat up Leafkit if it meant weakening her enough to capture.

!!Whitefeather
->"We're leaving. We didn't come here to pick a fight. That may have been Bonetail's intention, but we're only in this place to restock our supply of herbs."

Slash's mate, a former [=WindClan=] cat. She left [=WindClan=] to join Bonetail's rogues, where she wasn't shunned for loving a cat from another Clan.
----
* AffablyEvil: She's quite kind to Leafkit, even offering to get her some herbs when they take her to Bonetail.
* ApologeticAttacker: Apologizes to Darkclaw as she fights him in Chapter 6.
* BattleCouple: With her mate, Slash. Their fighting style relies on working together.
* BigDamnHeroes: A villainous variant. When Leafkit manages to weaken Slash, she shows up to protect him.
* TheMedic: Although she wasn't a medicine cat during her time with [=WindClan=], she has enough knowledge of herbs to aid Bonetail and his rogues.

!!Frost

Bonetail's former second-in-command. After he abandoned Bonetail in a battle, he left the Clans. Bonetail has replaced him with Slash.
----
* DirtyCoward: He abandons the others during the fight with Moorwhisker's patrol.
* TheDragon: To Bonetail, before the story began.
* TheGhost: He has never actually appeared.
* NumberTwo: Formerly the second-in-command to Bonetail.

!!Bear
->"You claim to have strong morals, and yet you do something like this? I can't believe how hypocritical you are, Clan cat."

One of Bonetail's rogues. Fights Tidepaw during the Gathering Battle, battles Sootstain's patrol during the fight at the original [=ShadowClan=] camp, and delivers Sootstain's message to Bonetail during the final battle with the rogues.
----
* ButtMonkey: After being stupid enough to walk into Foxwhisker's trap, he is the butt of Sootstain and Foxwhisker's jokes about his cliched villain traits.
* HannibalLecture: After Sootstain captures him, he starts monologuing about how hypocritical the Clan cats are, only for Sootstain to cut him off by pointing out that he is the one whose claws are at Bear's throat.
* NotSoDifferentRemark: Believes that the Clan cats are hypocritical and no better than him.
* ThisCannotBe: Claims that Foxwhisker's trap is inconceivable. Foxwhisker replies by [[YouKeepUsingThatWord telling him that he should redefine "inconceivable"]], because he quite clearly walked into a trap.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Other Cats]]
!!Glace/Ace, The Rogue Hunter
->"Not dying is my specialty!"

A she-cat who came to the Clans to warn them about a coming darkness. Seeing Bonetail's rogues convinced her to aid the Clans in the battle against Bonetail. Unfortunately, she's not actually very good at fighting.
----
* BigDamnHeroes: Subverted in her first appearance. When Darkclaw is fighting Slash and Whitefeather, she comes out of nowhere to help him fight the rogues, only for Slash to effortlessly knock her aside.
* CheerfulChild: Darkclaw finds her cheerfulness very annoying, but thinks that she's a lot like Tidepaw. Glace is presumably not as angsty as Tidepaw is on the inside.
* DynamicEntry: She screams to announce her presence when she interrupts Darkclaw's fight with Slash and Whitefeather.
* {{Kiai}}: She yells "Kiai!" when she attacks Slash.
* LargeHam: She constantly acts overblown, from screaming as she attacks Slash to striking a dramatic pose when introducing herself to Darkclaw.

!!Jester
->'''Tidepaw''': "Tell me who you are."
->'''Jester''': "Just a cat who doesn't know the meaning of eternity."

A strange kit who Tidepaw meets on the beach. He claims to work for "the wishgranter". He later appears to Leafkit. Who or what he is remains unknown.
----
* BerserkButton: He hates oathbreakers, and tells Leafkit that they are the worst kind of cat.
* CheerfulChild: He usually seems pretty happy, although hints of sadness do occasionally show.

!!Spectre

A mysterious golden tom who is associated with Jester, Rift, and two other cats called Faith and Winter. Confronted by a [=ShadowClan=] patrol who wants revenge against whatever attacked Blackfur, Darkclaw's father. Seemingly unkillable, Spectre is unstoppable in battle. As well, Slash is hunting him, due to a treasure he is rumoured to have stolen from [=ShadowClan=].
----
* CurbStompBattle: He easily dispatches Lionfur, Owlflight, Redclaw, and Newtfoot, taking only minimal scratches (that proceed to heal themselves) in the process.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Acts polite and calls his enemies guests, while trying to kill them. This only slips when Slash asks him about a treasure he stole from [=ShadowClan=].
* HealingFactor: Lionfur tears out his throat, but it simply grows back. As well, all the scratches he receives in his fight with the [=ShadowClan=] patrol simply vanish.
* ImplacableMan: Shrugs off all wounds, including mortal ones. Last seen being burned to a crisp, but even that doesn't seem to be enough to kill him.
* ManOnFire: He's only incapacitated when he gets trapped under a piece of wood and set on fire.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Casually tells Darkclaw that he was fighting cats 100 seasons ago. If he's telling the truth, then he's more than twice as old as the oldest of elders.

!!Flint

The leader of the Sky Avengers, a group of cats that tried to destroy the Clans three years before the events of ''Golden Dawn: Lost Sunrise''.
----
* AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: His goal was to take over the lake completely. While Finflutter managed to come up with a plan that defeated the Sky Avengers before Flint could do so, he did manage to take over the Gathering Island and a good amount of [=WindClan=] territory.
* TheLeader: He led the Sky Avengers.
* PredecessorVillain: He was the leader of the Sky Avengers, a group that attacked the Clans several years prior to the main story and had a heavy impact on the lives of many characters, such as Galeflight, Amberfang, Otterstar, and Sunstorm.

!!Jayfeather

One of the Three of Stars, the heroes that saved the Clans from the Dark Forest and during the Echo Wars. Long dead, he appears to Leafpaw in [=StarClan=].
----
* BigDamnHeroes: Shows up with Squirrelflight to save Leafpaw from his own EvilTwin, the Nightmare Walker.
* FamedInStory: Now a legend due to his role in saving the Clans. Even fifty years on, everyone has heard of him. However, his reputation is highly misleading, as Leafpaw pictures him as a charming tom who makes she-cats swoon.
* HeroicSacrifice: Gave his life to defeat the Three of Shadows and Ragnarok in the Echo Wars, as did Dovewing.
