A 24-year-old Captain in the United Earth Marine Corps, Haruo lost his parents to Godzilla when he was four years old, leaving him with an intense desire for vengeance on the monster. When an attempt to find another homeworld for humanity ends in failure, Haruo spearheads a bold plan to destroy Godzilla and retake Earth.

----
* AesopAmnesia: [[spoiler:The second movie has him teetering between MyGodWhatHaveIDone after the previous movie's fiasco and "the plan is still feasible and we must ''still'' try to kill Godzilla, and to ''hell'' with the price!" throughout almost the whole run time. He finally gets over this in the final film, realizing the cycle of revenge and hate had to be broken, and ultimately allows himself to be killed by Godzilla, realizing humanity was the cause for creatures like Godzilla existing.]]
* AntiAntiChrist: [[spoiler:Haruo rejects becoming the DarkMessiah HumanSacrifice the Exifs seek that would allow Ghidorah to permanently exist in the universe, and realizing the truth of Metphies words forsakes becoming a sacrifice of revenge to die at Godzillas hands.]]
* AwesomeByAnalysis: Through extensive research of old data logs, Haruo is able to figure out Godzilla's natural defenses and strategize how to kill it. [[spoiler:While they work with Filius, it proves much less effective against Earth, who raises his body temperature to melt the harpoon, although it is implied the plan still would have worked, albeit with much more difficulty and far greater cost.]]
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Haruo states that [[spoiler:killing Godzilla once means they know they can do it again, and have nothing to fear if another shows up. Cue Godzilla Earth--who is ''far'' bigger than Filius--waking up and crushing his army with no effort. He later states that all it takes to take care of Godzilla Earth is a matter of compensating for its size -- cue Mechagodzilla City almost becoming a GreyGoo extinction scenario (and him getting slapped with the HeWhoFightsMonsters glove yet again), in order to achieve said compensation, and turning out ItOnlyWorksOnce regardless]].
* ChickMagnet: The three films all take place within a relatively short time frame of each other and yet by the end of the trilogy, he had acquired the affections of Yuko (who admittedly has known him for far longer), Miana and [[spoiler: Maina]].
* TheChosenOne: [[spoiler:Metphies reveals that Haruo is the one person whose sacrifice to Ghidorah would allow it to permanently exist in the universe, and so long as he lives, Ghidorah would watch over him and await the day he fully embraces revenge to become its sacrifice.]]
* CycleOfRevenge: Godzilla killed Haruo's parents when he was still a child, which led to Haruo killing [[spoiler:Filius, thinking it was the original Godzilla, which ends up leading to the real orignal Godzilla wiping out most of his army. Haruo got his first taste of revenge at a really heavy cost, but not remotely the way he wanted it. He eventually decides to put an end to the cycle in ''The Planet Eater'' and allows himself to be killed by Godzilla, acknowledging he was the one perpetuating the cycle, not Godzilla.]]
* DeityOfHumanOrigin: [[spoiler:A post-credits scene in ''The Planet Eater'' shows Maina deified him after his death; the Houtua worshipping him as the "Lord of Wrath" to whom they pray to be cleansed of their fears and other negative emotions]].
* DespairEventHorizon: [[spoiler:Yuko's death at the end of the second movie pushes him there, after going through a dilemma of either fusing with nanometal and finally getting the revenge he sought at the cost of Yuko's life, or destroy Mechagodzilla City to prevent world-wide spread of nanometal in a desperate attempt to save Yuko. He chose the latter, but Yuko is already rendered comatose, making it a very bittersweet victory.]]
* {{Determinator}}: Haruo's hellbent obsession with killing Godzilla doubles as his FatalFlaw. His near unshakable resolve to see his goal through earns Metphies' intrigue and Galu-gu's respect, but also makes him susceptible to their manipulations.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Haruo is first introduced threatening to suicide bomb the ''Aratrum'' if his demands -- cancelling the expedition to Tau-e -- aren't met within one hour. This scene shows how desperate, angry, and persistent he is -- not willing to back down, even if he ends up being killed.
* {{Expy}}:
** Haruo's obsession with revenge against the monster that killed his parents and his determination to free humanity from the terror and despair inflicted by that monster has drawn numerous comparisons between him and Eren Yeager from ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'' -- with even Haruo's English VA commenting on the strong similarities between the two. The main difference is that unlike Eren, Haruo uses a much more careful planning strategy when fighting an enemy while Eren's default strategy is a LeeroyJenkins-style attack when transforming into the Attack Titan. [[spoiler: It becomes horrifically deconstructed when Haruo never accomplishes his goal in either of the movies.]]
** Even though ''Film/KongSkullIsland'' is its own movie and placed in the ''Film/MonsterVerse'' continuity, Haruo bears some similarity to Packard since both of them come across being vengeful while having a Captain Ahab-like relationship with kaiju whose hatred shines through everything they do. While Packard has no problem putting his few remaining men in danger over his obsession with killing Kong; Haruo, on the other hand, does care about the group's well-being, but he let his obsession with killing Godzilla and reclaiming Earth cloud his judgement [[spoiler:without taking any precautions that there's another Godzilla out there]].
** His obsession, seeing Godzilla as an evil force that must die for humanity to prosper and have dominion of their world, closely recalled [[Literature/MobyDick Captain Ahab]] himself. In the second film, the weapon of choice his team uses against Godzilla are a set of enormous metal harpoons. Haruo over the first and second films grows more and more desperate to destroy Godzilla, threats be damned. Just like Ahab, he also leaps upon a monster to stab into it with a harpoon-like weapon in the first movie. [[spoiler:Unlike Ahab, he finally sees his reckless approach and tries to break it off, but it still ends up costing him.]]
** He also shares similarities to Akira Yuki from Film/GodzillaVsSpaceGodzilla, in that both hate Godzilla with a passion for killing someone they cared about, and go to extreme measures others would call insane in an attempt to kill him.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: [[spoiler: As he charges Godzilla, he smiles right before the monster destroys his Vulture mech]].
* FailureHero: He fits this to a T. In the first two movies, he genuinely wants to do what's best for the sake for his people, which comes along with his FatalFlaw of wanting to destroy Godzilla and reclaim Earth for mankind, in order to rebuild civilization. Despite careful planning, most of his actions indirectly and directly lead to more deaths when he miscalculates the possibility [[spoiler:that he killed the right Godzilla, disregarding the fact there could be another; and blows up Mechagodzilla City with people still in it]]. However, he'll still try to pursue his revenge, but due to lack of resources, manpower, and little to no strategic value aside from piloting the Vultures, it seems pretty nigh impossible or hopeless since the same strategy to use the EMP on the dorsal fins didn't work this time when Godzilla temperature rose and melted the EMP harpoon. [[spoiler:By the end of the second movie he gives up his chance to MutualKill Godzilla Earth to save Yuko, but she is left in a coma -- making his endeavor entirely fruitless and sending him into a DespairEventHorizon. By the end of the third, he's completely failed to meaningfully change the situation on Earth in any way, most of the survivors of humanity are dead, and Godzilla Earth still rules the planet.]]
* FatalFlaw: His [[{{Determinator}} resolve]] and [[{{Wrath}} anger]] continually screws him over as he becomes an UnwittingPawn to the Bilusaludo and Exif across the trilogy.
* FreudianExcuse: Haruo watched his parents be killed by Godzilla at the age of two; and spent the next twenty-two years enduring the increasingly desperate conditions aboard the ''Aratrum'', watching the people around him slowly [[DespairEventHorizon succumb to despair]], disease, and be DrivenToSuicide. His adoptive grandfather volunteering to sacrifice himself to lighten the load was the last straw for him.
* GenreBlind: Haruo sees Godzilla as the only threat to human civilization and believes that once that kills the kajiu, humanity can rebuild civilization and can finally thrive and prosper. He doesn't realize that the Exifs and Bilusaludo also have plans of their own to conquer Earth, [[spoiler:and is oblivious to the fact that Metphies has been manipulating his desire for revenge throughout the movie. In the sequel, Haruo could've saw through the Bilusaludo intentions from a mile away instead of trusting them, which ultimately cost Yuko's life.]]
* GoOutWithASmile: [[spoiler:Right before he's vaporized by Godzilla's atomic breath, Haruo smiles, finally finding some measure of peace.]]
* HappilyAdopted: He was taken in by Yuko Tani's grandfather after his parents were killed, and sees the old man as family. This is one of the reasons why he was enraged by Captain Mori's decision to jettison the elderly into [[DeathWorld Tau-e]].
%%* HateSink:
%%** While Haruo is the main character of the movie -- and despite Metphies calling him the hero who will face Godzilla -- he isn't particularly heroic or likeable, at least from a Western perspective. His introductory moment has him threaten to suicide bomb the ''Aratrum'' to prevent the Council from jettisoning the elderly -- Haruo's adoptive grandfather among them -- to lessen the burden on the ship. While he is recognized as a genius, he is so driven by rage and vengeance that almost every other crew-member of the ''Aratrum'' aside from Metphies and Yuko treats him with a mixture of disdain and exasperation. Even before he's placed in charge of the away team -- and especially after -- almost every decision he makes elicits BigWhat and YoureInsane responses. He's only obeyed because Metphies put him in charge, [[spoiler:(and it's not quite unsubtly implied that Metphies -- who sees Godzilla as a divine embodiment of destruction -- is trying to render humanity extinct)]] or because the increasingly desperate situation has pinned everybody against the wall.
%%** In the second movie he seems to ease up through CharacterDevelopment and becomes more stable after being nursed back to health. [[spoiler:He just had to lose everything else he still had left to love in order for it to (apparently) stick.]]
* HeelRealization: In the third movie pretty much that his own revenge plot isn't what it's cracked up to be since Haruo is dealing with the consequences of his actions from the previous two installments, along with the guilt he suffers for all the people who died along the way including Yuko.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: He gets slapped with this constantly throughout the first two films, thanks to his obsession with getting rid of Godzilla overriding his common sense. [[spoiler:In the end, EveryoneHasStandards wins -- he is okay with sacrificing his own life to kill Godzilla, but facing the option of becoming accomplice to potential genocide, wrecking the Earth to save it and endangering Yuko's life (to the level that this trope would entail) is too much for him.]]
* TheHeroDies: [[spoiler: He is the first ''Godzilla'' human protagonist to die since [[Film/Godzilla1954 Daisuke Serizawa]] (several came close, though, none closer than [[Film/Godzilla2014 Ford Brody]]). They both choose to die by their own terms, but Serizawa does it so he wouldn't be forced to create another Oxygen Destroyer (even though he does, [[Film/GodzillaVsDestoroyah in a way]]), Haruo chooses to die by Godzilla to end the cycle of revenge and the human progression of destruction]].
* HeroicSacrifice: After Martin exuberently [[spoiler:tells him he plans to use the nanometal in Yuko's body and the Vulture to rebuild human society, Haruo has a vision of Metphies stating that if this happens Ghidorah will return to devour the Earth. He then takes Yuko's body and flies the Vulture towards Godzilla, provoking the kaiju into killing him so as to prevent that from coming to pass]].
* HotBlooded: Haruo is hot-tempered, aggressive, and obsessed with avenging his parents and the humiliation mankind endured at the claws and Atomic Breath of Godzilla.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He doesn't have much room to talk when he threatens to suicide-bomb the ''Aratrum'' to stop the higher-ups from unloading the elderly onto [[DeathWorld Tau-e]], and yet he has absolutely no problem dragging so many people into his endeavors and risking so many lives just to kill Godzilla -- which ends up backfiring horrifically [[spoiler:after killing Filius awakens the original Godzilla, who annihilates almost his entire team]]. He spends the entire second film teetering between regretting this and carrying on like it didn't mattered.
* HumansAreSpecial: Haruo is a firm believer in the inherit superiority and pride of humanity, and wants to prove that humans are [[HumansAreSurvivors survivors]] and [[HumansAreWarriors warriors]] as well by killing Godzilla and taking back what's rightfully theirs.
* IdiotBall: Haruo carries this as soon as the ship arrives back on Earth due to his RevengeBeforeReason. Once the drones pick up Godzilla [[spoiler:Filius]], instead of doing the sensible thing and settling on the part of the planet least inhabited by monsters, he decides to take the fight to where Godzilla is. This results in several losses of life due to the Servum and Godzilla's attacks. [[spoiler:And once Godzilla Filius is killed, the REAL Godzilla shows himself and kills seemingly everybody but Haruo, all because our DesignatedHero wanted a taste of revenge and to "renew mankind's pride".]]
* TheImmune: He was covered by an amber-like substance implied to be scales from Mothra's wings while being cared for by Miana, and as a result he's able to breath freely on the Earth's atmosphere. [[spoiler:The nanometal doesn't seem to bother the Houtua or Haruo while almost everybody else is infected by it, including Yuko who ends up dying very horrifically as a result.]]
* ItsAllAboutMe: Deconstructed, sure [[FreudianExcuse he has lost his family to Godzilla and has spent 20 years living in increasingly desperate conditions on the ''Aratrum'']], but he seemingly doesn't consider the fact that he isn't the only one who's lost loved ones and soldiers under his command might have families and parents, but don't share his burning desire for revenge. On the flipside, he quite obviously loved his grandfather enough to try and save him from what was obviously suicide alongside the rest of the elderly. Despite telling anyone can freely go back to the ''Aratrum'', he'll still drag so many into his mission whether or not they volunteered and not to mention that the soldiers and crew member actually put their own lives into his hand.
* {{Jerkass}}: Not really the condescending kind, the death of his parents at the hands of Godzilla and enduring the desperate conditions onboard the ''Aratrum'' for 22 years in space pretty turned him into a hot-tempered and reckless person obsessed with revenge and inclined to dismiss those who don't share his worldview as cowards. Following the away team discovering just how alien Earth has become, Leland decides to cut their losses, retreat, and establish a colony on the Moon; extracting resources from Earth. Haruo lashes out in rage and pins him to a wall, accusing him of being a coward for wanting to abandon their home without having encountered Godzilla once, but Leland shuts him up by pointing out that they sustained heavy losses during the Servum attack and that none of the soldiers have actual combat experience.
* JerkassHasAPoint: While Haruo went about it all wrong, he was right about the elderly being jettisoned out of convenience moreso than honest need. What proves it is that despite the higher-ups claiming that they were sending the elderly out to a new planet to make a new life for themselves, [[spoiler:the higher-ups rigged shuttle to the new planet to explode when it reached a certain distance and lied about it.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While his desire for revenge against Godzilla makes him hot-tempered and extremely reckless, he ''does'' try to dissuade Yuko from participating in the battle against Godzilla [[spoiler:Filius, and when the original Godzilla wakes up he orders an immediate emergency retreat and was prepared to sacrifice himself distracting it to buy time for everyone to escape]].
* MeaningfulName: His name means "spring", since he was born on that season.
* MilitaryMaverick: Haruo holds the military rank of captain within the Marines, but is hotheaded and rebellious -- which sees him arrested for insubordination after threatening to suicide-bomb the ''Aratrum'' when the Captain decides to jettison the elderly, including Haruo's adoptive grandfather.
* MobySchtick: Godzilla is his personal Moby Dick. The homage even goes all-out with his strategies to kill Godzilla revolving around spearing it with high-tech harpoons.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Written all over his face after destroying Mechagodzilla City's control center. The City was likely their best and last shot at killing Godzilla and in destroying it, he has ensured Godzilla's continued dominance over the Earth and the alliance between humanity and the Bilusaludo is now tarnished by his killing of Galu-gu. You can see the realization sink in as he watches the command center burn.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero:
** While he does have a well thought-out attack plan and battle strategy against Godzilla, [[spoiler:implementing it results in heavy casualties, and killing Filius leads to unfortunate results when the original Godzilla -- hailed as a ''god of death and destruction'' -- awakens.]]
** Unintentional and very unfortunate when he told the rest of crew that they can go back to the ''Aratrum'' in ''City on the Edge of Battle'' which led to them all getting killed by Ghidorah in ''The Planet Eater''.
* PerpetualFrowner: His standard expression throughout the trilogy would be better described as "pissed".
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Deconstructed. Haruo is ''extremely'' resentful of the fact that Godzilla bismirched humanity's pride and honor by driving them off the Earth and forced the survivors to spend 22 years suffering on the ''Aratrum'', to say nothing of the fact that Godzilla killed his parents in front of him. [[spoiler:And his quest for revenge has gotten the majority of his crew killed across two movies.]]
* RousingSpeech: Following the away team's disastrous first engagement with Godzilla while trying to cross the Tanzawa Pass, Metphies passes command of the mission to Haruo -- who delivers a grim but passionate speech that rouses the other soldiers into taking the fight to Godzilla one last time.
--> "The situation is dire, so I'll skip the pleasantries. I don't have an outlook for humanity's future, and I don't have enough of a strategy to estimate our chances of winning. However, I can say this. Those who didn't yield to Godzilla can proudly welcome another day. This is not only a battle to kill Godzilla. What we are about to fight is a humiliating future with no choice but to accept despair and resignation. If we can reject and fight that, we can once again dream of hope and pride. Just as our ancestors did, who thrived here before us. That's right. If we don't retreat now, if we don't show fear, and if we put our lives on the line, we've already won. All we need to do is finish it. Humanity's 22-year-long nightmare, and Godzilla's 20 000-year-long era. I look forward to your brave efforts. That is all."
** [[spoiler: Didn't really help much in the second film where some are willing to take the fight to Godzilla and others are willing to go back to the Aratrum, however luckily most of the humans are desperate of wanting to go back not being assimilated by the Nanometal.]]
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: [[spoiler: Considering that his quest for vengeance has cost alot of lives of many others like Leland along with so many crew members and Yuko becoming assimilated with Nanometal just for trusting Galu-Gu, if there's one thing that Haruo realize is that Godzilla and the other Kaijus were never the problem, it was mankinds error and destruction that made monsters like Godzilla exist.]]
* RuleOfSymbolism:
** [[spoiler: When he decided to pilot the working Vulture while carrying the comatose Yuko to the cockpit. Before the latter's death, he gets a momentary vision of Metphies saying "time is on [their] side." In other words, the cycle would start all over again. Haruo proceeds to fly towards Godzilla knowing he would die, but would also end the cycle]].
** [[spoiler: Even though he will die along with Yuko and it'salso stated that when Yuko decided to go along with Galu-Gu's plan in dealing with Godzilla, signifying that delibrately gave up her humanity, in exhange for the use of Nanometal. Just as Haruo decided to take the fight to Godzilla, Galu-gu did straight up tell him he's becoming something that he's been fighting against, literally a monster. When the Vulture approaches Godzilla head on, Godzilla spots them with its atomic breath, killing them both. The way Haruo adoptive grandfather died, he made his own choice wanting to be at the surface of the planet only to feel the warmth of solid ground just as Haruo wanting to not only just kill Godzilla, but to die trying as well on his own terms.]]
* RousseauWasRight: Despite stating in his opening monologue that the conditions onboard the ''Aratrum'' have created a climate of despair where hope, pride, and compassion are weaknesses, Haruo is a firm believer that HumansAreGood and takes great pride in humanity. When Yuko asks if he really thinks that the ''Aratrum''[='=]s counsel knowingly sent their grandfather to his death, he laments his earlier suspicion and states that he believes Godzilla is responsible for robbing humans of their compassion and empathy.
* SadisticChoice: Not by coercion, but by choice in general. In the climax of ''City on the Edge of Battle'', he can either [[spoiler:take the opportunity to finally claim his revenge on Godzilla for humanity or destroy Mechagodzila City, halting the infectious spread of nanometal and saving Yuko's life. Metphies correctly points out that choosing the former would result in victory for the Bilusaludo, not Haruo, since the city is under Galu-gu's control]]. To choose the latter, he gives up what may very well be his only chance to kill Godzilla, once and for all, thus making the sacrifices of his fallen comrades in vain. Although he ultimately ends up choosing the latter and saving Earth from assimilation, Yuko is rendered comatose by the nanometal, making his decision bittersweet at best. It’s also compounded by the fact that the choice to destroy the nanometal is actually a very obvious one: He can see how fast the nanometal is spreading in great detail ''as it assimilates the arms and legs of his suit,'' while Gale-gu explains that the same thing has been happening throughout Mechagodzilla City over the past 20,000 years. It essentially comes down to ‘kill the slow apocalypse at the cost of your life and the life of your girlfriend, or "prevent a very fast apocalypse that's getting faster by the nanosecond, save your girlfriend, and live to fight another day, even if the fight will get harder."
* SexForSolace: In ''Planet Eater'', Haruo turns to Maina for comfort and solace, [[spoiler:leaving her pregnant at the end of the film]].
* ShipTease: With two women:
** His childhood friend Yuko Tani, who has been with him ever since the monsters attacked. Yuko joined the UE to get closer to him, even when he's technically a criminal. The first film has the both of them fight Godzilla (Filius) together, and when he makes contact with her company, she grows overjoyed that he survived. The second film even dispenses the tease by having her kiss Haruo when he promises to show her what Earth was like before Godzilla took over. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, he is unable to keep his promise to her when she almost dies due to Nanometal infection]].
** Miana, the first human girl on Earth he met after his disastrous defeat by Godzilla Earth. After saving his life and meeting him properly, she begins to learn how to say his name, to his astonishment (and Yuko's jealousy). She also appears to be visibly disheartened when she and her sister Maina saw Yuko kissing Haruo, and telepathically helps him avoid Godzilla Earth's attacks. She [[RuleOfThree once again saved him]], this time from Nanometal infusion, as the powdery scales she smeared on him during his treatment prevented it from bonding him. [[spoiler:He rejects her when she comes on to him and instead has sex with her sister Maina (who was revealed to be the one who saved him) in ''Planet Eater'', leaving her pregnant.]]
* ShoutOut: Haruo's first name seems to be named after the late Haruo Nakajima who played Godzilla from [[Film/Godzilla1954 1954]] to [[Film/GodzillaVsGigan 1972]].
* SkywardScream: [[spoiler: Haruo rips open the cockpit and tries to revive Yuko, but then liquid metal tears came out of her eye which strongly implies that she's already dead. This realization causes Haruo to scream into the air as if he's suffering from agonizing pain in a very anguishing moment.]]
* TheStrategist: Haruo is highly intelligent and a fairly skilled strategist, managing to deduce Godzilla's weaknesses and more-or-less spontaneously come up with a battle-plan to kill Godzilla with minimal casualties during their rematch -- though he openly admits he can't vouch for its chances of success and that it will probably end up a suicide mission. [[spoiler:While his plan ultimately succeeds, the Servum attacking the air support results in heavy casualties, and the Godzilla he killed was not the original. Despite Haruo immediately giving the order to retreat once the original Godzilla -- who is six times larger and exponentially more powerful than Filius -- awakens, it effortlessly crushes his army.]]
* TooDumbToLive: Inverted, as Haruo survives but his selfish and severely ill-advised actions and choices to bring the fight to Godzilla instead of leaving well enough alone lead to the death of every single member of the landing party which amounted to hundreds, if not thousands of people. As a result of this catastrophic failure, Haruo recognizes his flaws and begins to doubt himself. Of course, he ''really'' wants to kill Godzilla. It’s just as likely as not that he wouldn’t have even started to get a grip if his plan’s deathtoll was any less blatant a military atrocity.
* TraumaCongaLine: Being forced to evacuate Earth while his parents are killed by Godzilla, enduring 22 years on the ''Aratrum'' where so many are [[DespairEventHorizon losing hope]], dying from disease, [[DrivenToSuicide committing suicides]], and seeing his adoptive grandfather sacrifice himself on a expedition to Tau-e. [[spoiler:Even after he kills Godzilla Filius The original Godzilla woke up and crushed his entire army; his LoveInterest seemingly died in a very horrific manner being assimilated by the nanometal; and to add insult to injury Godzilla Earth is still alive.]]
* TragicHero: Again, hero is a stretch, but in-universe he's trying to destroy the monster that wiped out most of humanity and ruined his life.
* TogetherInDeath: [[spoiler:He takes a comatose Yuko and decides to face Godzilla head-on, and for them to die together]].
* TookALevelInKindness: Yes and no, but his brashness is toned down in a loose way. Even though his top priority is to kill Godzilla; he becomes a little bit more tamed in the second movie, not only that he even acknowledges his mistake when a nameless soldier called him out on his reckless behavior endangering the lives of almost everyone, plus he no longer drags anyone in his endeavors and are given the option to stay and continue on with the fight or allows any forces under him to return the ''Aratrum'' safely without any arguments like he had with Leland before in the first film.
* UnwittingPawn: It's indicated that Haruo is one to [[spoiler:Colonel Metphies, who stokes the flames of his desire for vengeance, calls Haruo a hero destined to slay Godzilla, points out to Leland that in order to retreat they would have to fight Godzilla anyways, and puts Haruo in charge after Leland's death... while also remarking that Godzilla is an instrument of divine punishment sent to destroy humanity for its arrogance]].
* VillainForgotToLevelGrind: [[spoiler:Inverted, the strategy that he invented to defeat Godzilla was designed to defeat Godzilla who invaded the earth originally, but it is almost useless for the current version of Godzilla, who is much bigger and more powerful. So it would be a case of a hero Forgot To Level Grind]].
* WhatTheHellHero: In the second movie, one of the unnamed soldiers who survives the event of the first movie rightly calls him out on his reckless action, even though though he acknowledges his own fault while his actions defended by Galu-Gu who states that if he hadn't gone through with the plan killed Godzilla Earth then they wouldn't know the outcome would work or not, still anyone under him who survived has every justifiable right to call him out on it, because it's their lives on the line in Haruo's hand. [[spoiler: Haruo gives one to Yuko for agreeing with the Galu-Gu's plan to kill Godzilla by any means through the Nanometal would actually wipe out all life on Earth including herself.]]
* YouAreInCommandNow: After Leland is killed by Godzilla, command of the mission falls to Metphies, who promptly abdicates the position and names Haruo as his replacement.
* YouKilledMyFather: Haruo's hatred of Godzilla is due to the latter killing his parents when they were on their way to the ''Aratrum''.

A Sergeant in the United Earth Marine Corps Power Suit division, Yuko is the biological granddaughter of Daichi Tani, who adopted Haruo after his parents' deaths. She joins the Earth Landing Brigade due to her engineering skills, but her commanding officer has her chaperone Haruo, an assignment she is more than happy to accept.

----
* AcePilot: She is a highly skilled pilot of a MiniMecha.
* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler:She's seemingly killed while Galu-gu forcibly assimilates her, due to her resisting the process rather than giving in. However, it's later revealed that the nanometal keeps alive, but in a permanent braindead state.]]
* BigDamnKiss: In ''City on the Edge of Battle'', she kisses Haruo, confirming she has romantic feelings for him.
-->'''Yuko''': Senpai, you were my hope.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Yuko gets visibly angry when she sees Haruo treating Miana affectionately, and her storming off out of jealousy puts her in danger when she's attacked by Ground-type Servum.
* HiddenBuxom: Under her armored environment suit, it turns out she has a large chest. This isn't revealed until ''City on the Edge of Battle''.
* IJustWantToBeBadass: Eager to prove herself, especially after listening to Haruo's RousingSpeech. He tries to dissuade her from taking part in the final battle, but she won't hear of it.
-->'''Haruo:''' Don't you understand? This is practically a suicide mission!\
'''Yuko:''' I want to become stronger! That's what I thought when Grandpa died.
* NotQuiteDead: In ''The Planet Eater'', it's revealed that while Yuko is ''technically'' alive, it's only due to the nanometal acting as a life-support system, and [[CharacterDeath her brain has stopped functioning with zero chance of recovery]].
* RewardedAsATraitorDeserves: Invoked by Adam Bindewald when he proclaims to Haruo's face that Yuko effectively having been killed by the nanometal assimilation is a fitting karmic punishment for having sided with the Bilusaludo.
* ShipTease: She has a crush on Haruo, who for his part tries to discourage her from taking part in the final attack on Godzilla out of fear she'd be killed. She was also overjoyed when she saw that Haruo had survived the battle. ''City on the Edge of Battle'' dispenses with the teasing. [[spoiler:During the mission, she almost dies as the nanometal assimilates her and is subsequently left braindead in the final film.]]
* SmurfettePrinciple: The only female Marine to get any noticeable screentime.
* WhatTheHellHero:
** In ''City on the Edge of Battle'', Yuko is subjected to one by an outraged Haruo when she sides with the Bilusaludo over assimilating into the nanometal to expand Mecha-Godzilla City's capabilities. She quickly turns this on him by stating that the process is completely voluntary and that thus-far only the Bilusaludo have undergone it... [[spoiler:ironic considering what later happens to her]].
** In ''Planet Eater'', a hallucination of Yuko caused by Metphies tears into Haruo for [[spoiler:letting her be consumed by nanometal and then abandoning her to sleep with the twin Houtua priestesses]].

!!!'''Portrayed By:''' Creator/TakahiroSakurai (JP); Creator/LucienDodge (EN); Armando Guerrero ([=LatAm=])
An Archibishop in the religious class of his race who doubles as a Colonel in the United Earth Military, Metphies befriends Haruo during his time on the ''Aratum'', eventually providing him with classified intelligence on Godzilla which serves as the basis as the campaign to retake Earth. Metphies joins the Earth Landing Brigade ostensibly to advise Haruo, but his true motives are ambiguous.
----
* AdmiringTheAbomination: As Godzilla towers over the humans, [[spoiler:Metphies delivers a sinister sermon hailing it as a god of death and destruction]].
-->"When those fleeting lives destined to die [[AndManGrewProud forget their humbleness and sing praise of their glory]], such will shake the very heavens and split the earth, and they shall know the wrath of the divine. The inevitable incarnation of destruction. So, you show yourself at last. Since we last saw each other, it has been 20 years for us and 20,000 years for you. It's been awhile... Oh, King of Monsters."
* AffablyEvil: Metphies is always calm and soothing, and is one of Haruo's few friends and always offers advice that -- while intended to fan the flames of Haruo's vengeance -- is measured and sensible. Despite this, he is a religious fanatic who believes that humanity deserves to be wiped out for their hubris. [[spoiler:Even after unveiling his true colors, its made clear Metphies truly does care about Haruo.]]
* AlasPoorVillain: [[spoiler:Yes, he tried to sacrifice the entire planet, but after he dies, Haruo breaks into sobs as he cradles his corpse. Even after everything, Haruo valued him as his OnlyFriend who he'd known for almost his entire life.]]
* AmbiguouslyEvil: Metphies gives off this vibe since a few of his more sinister comments imply that he was manipulating Haruo in order to deliver the remnants of humanity to Godzilla and prevent them from escaping what he sees as their divine punishment. ''The Planet Eater'' ultimately confirms this to be the case, though he remains affible towards his friend.
* BigDamnHeroes: Twice in a row on the second film, when Metphies and survivors of his unit arrived just in time to save Haruo's group when the Servum attacks them and [[spoiler: he also warns Haruo that if kills Godzilla now, the nanometal infection will spread unchecked. 240* DragonInChief: [[spoiler: To Ghidorah in ''The Planet Eater''. Ghidorah may be the BigBad whom Metphies worships, but he can't cross into our reality without a vessel. As soon as Metphies is defeated, Ghidorah becomes tangible and Godzilla demolishes him in short order.]]
* DragonTheirFeet: [[spoiler:Metphies dies of his wounds shortly after Ghidorah is defeated by Godzilla.]]
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Metphies finds the nanometal to be a "sinister thing", deeming it an uncaring machine no different than a monster. He later goes against Galu-gu's assimilation plot and advises Haruo to destroy the command center, thus stopping the nanometal from further spreading. [[spoiler:On the other hand, Metphies planned to sacrifice the planet to Ghidorah anyway, so it could have been a case of PragmaticVillainy on his part to prevent Mechagodzilla from spoiling his offering to Ghidorah.]]
* EvilAllAlong: Metphies openly refers to Godzilla as a god of destruction sent to punish species who arrogantly presume themselves superior to nature, and manipulates Haruo in order to deliver the remnants of humanity to it. Not that it wouldn't stop Haruo from going through with his revenge anyways on Godzilla regardless off being manipulated or not. [[spoiler: He's revealed to be much worse in ''The Planet Eater'', being the one who summons Ghidorah to Earth.]]
* EyeScream: In ''The Planet Eater'', he [[spoiler:replaces his right eye with the amulet he used to summon Ghidorah, so as to literally act as his god's eyes.]]
* FaceDeathWithDignity: [[spoiler:Unsurprising as his entire religion is based on the inevitability of death. Metphies takes his own end with grace, even telling Haruo to live and making sure he understands that Ghidorah would always watch him and wait for the day he embraces revenge.]]
* TheHeavy: [[spoiler:He's the main villain for the ''entire trilogy''. Since ''Planet of the Monsters'', he's been grooming Haruo's desire for revenge to turn him into a hero whose soul would allow Ghidorah to permanently manifest itself in the universe.]]
* MeaningfulName: Metphies sounds eerily similar to Mephistopheles. Given his manipulative behavior with a cult devotion to an evil god, it's not hard to see why this name was chosen.
* MindRape:
** When Miana confronts him over his plotting, Metphies cordially reveals his plans before threatening to sacrifice her to Ghidorah, showing her a vision of the entity that leaves her comatose.
** When Haruo confronts him [[spoiler:to save Miana, Metphies tries to break Haruo's will and spirit by bombarding him with hallucinations such as Leland betrating him for not seeking revenge against Godzilla at all cost, his grandfather, and Yuko berating him for letting her be consumed by nanometal and then abandoning her for the Houtua twins]].
* MouthOfSauron: [[spoiler:Serves as this for Ghidorah, explaining his motivations and what he plans for Haruo.]]
* ParentalSubstitute: He acts as a bit of a father figure to Haruo in the latter's childhood [[spoiler:although he is more of an abusive father by the reveal]].
* OlderThanTheyLook: Chronologically he is in his fifties, but since Exif age more slowly than humans, he appears to be the same age as Haruo.
* OnlyFriend: He appears to be Hauro's only real ally who consistently supports him and has faith in his leadership abilities. After Godzilla Earth's attack at the end of ''Planet of the Monsters'', Haruo expresses concern for Metphies' well-being and is relieved to see him again. He also trusts Metphies to personally confide in his doubts. [[spoiler:It becomes all the more heartbreaking when Haruo realizes Metphies' goal in ''The Planet Eater'' was to sacrifice him to Ghidorah.]]
* SinisterMinister: While outwardly a fairly mellow person with a wry sense of humour, [[spoiler:Metphies makes a number of comments that imply he was manipulating Haruo's desire for revenge in order to deliver the remnants of humanity to Godzilla -- who he and implicitly the other Exifs view as an instrument of divine punishment]].
* StrawNihilist: [[spoiler:The Exif realized the universe was finite while the eternal Ghidorah was not, and thus decide to euthanize the sapient beings of the universe by summoning Ghidorah. He is firmly convinced that it is the nature of human beings to destroy themselves, and thus this is the best that can be done.]]
* TokenEvilTeammate: Despite his ulterior motives, he is firmly on Haruo's side, even going as far as to tell him the name of the monster that destroyed his home ([[spoiler:King Ghidorah]]). He also urges Haruo to destroy Mechagodzilla City to prevent its world-wide infection and save Yuko. He also saved a number of Earth's forces and rounded them up to save Haruo and his company.
* VillainHasAPoint: Compared to Galu-gu, he's actually the voice of reason in ''City'', advising Haruo to stop Galu-gu and the nanometal, correctly observing that Mechagodzilla emerging victorious would ultimately benefit the Bilusaludo.
-->'''Galu-gu''': We are so close to killing Godzilla! Isn't that what you wanted?!
-->'''Metphies''': Even if that's a victory for the Bilusaludo, it's not a victory for Haruo!
* VillainousBreakdown: Has a minor one in ''The Planet Eater'' when [[spoiler:Mothra interferes in his MindRape of Haruo, ruining his EvilPlan]]. It's one of the only times he acts less than completely pleased and composed, actually narrowing his eyes and frowning for once, though he quickly gets over it.

* {{Expy}}: They are a MythologyGag to the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens/Simians from ''Film/GodzillaVsMechagodzilla''.
* HumanAlien: The Bilusaludo are bulky and have quill-like protrusions in place of hair, but otherwise resemble dark-skinned humans. The only real difference is that [[spoiler:they can still act relatively normally even once infused with nanometal, unlike humans who are rendered braindead]].
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:By the end of the trilogy, they're the only members of the three protagonist species that are unambiguously extinct.]]
* LackOfEmpathy: [[spoiler:In ''Anime/GodzillaThePlanetEater'' the remaining Bilusaludo on the ''Aratrum'' are calling for Haruo's head in retaliation for killing their men, destroying Mechagodzilla City, and thus ruining their only chance to kill Godzilla. When the humans point out how Mechagodzilla would have assimilated the entire planet, they're genuinely taken aback by their objections to what they view as a natural evolution. Tensions boil to the point they even stage a mutiny by taking over the ''Aratrum's'' engines until Haruo is sentenced as a traitor.]]
* OutgrownSuchSillySuperstitions: They value intelligence and science above all else, and thus look down on the Exif's religion.
* StrawVulcan: The species. They look down on emotions and value logic and science above all else. [[spoiler:When they find Mechagodzilla City, the remaining Bilusaludo on Earth happily assimilate with Mechagodzilla, believing it to be the logical course of action in defeating Godzilla.]]

A senior Tech Officer, Colonel Galu-gu was the mastermind behind Project Mechagodzilla, [[AIIsACrapshoot which ultimately failed to halt Godzilla's advance]]. When the ''Aratum'' returns to Earth, Galu-gu joins the United Earth Landing Brigade's Corps of Engineers, tasked with developing weapons powerful enough to take on Godzilla.
----
* AdmiringTheAbomination: He expresses a form of admiration towards Godzilla, stating that in order to surpass and destroy it, humanity and their allies must give up their physical bodies and become one with Mechagodzilla, thus joining the monsters as rulers. In Galu-gu's eyes, Godzilla is the embodiment of domination and he seeks to usurp him as the dominant force of life.
* AssholeVictim: [[spoiler:Haruo is forced to destroy him along with Mechagodzilla City over Godzilla. But given that Galu-gu was willing to obliterate all life on Earth while regarding the indigenous people as lowly devolutions, threw his human allies under the bus, and effectively murdered Yuko, you can't say the latter made the wrong decision.]]
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: In the closing moments of ''City'', Galu-gu tells Haruo that if he wants to win, he should steel his resolve and continue his duty. Haruo ''does'' steel his resolve... to destroy the command center and take Galu-gu out with it.
* BigBadEnsemble: With Godzilla Earth in ''City on the Edge of Battle''. By the climax, Mechagodzilla City ends up being a far worse alternative to Godzilla, [[LesserOfTwoEvils who is trying to destroy the city to prevent it from spreading]].
* DisappointedInYou: He's annoyed when Martin and the other humans express their horror at [[spoiler:fusing with Mechagodzilla. To Galu-gu it's a chance to surpass the inferiority of the flesh and become powerful while everyone else sees it as abandoning their humanity. When Haruo rejects their plans, Belu-be is outraged but Gala-gu is simply disappointed]].
* TheEngineer: Mulu-elu Galu-gu spearheaded the Mechagodzilla project, intending to use it to kill Godzilla and then conquer Earth for the Bilusaludo.
* EtTuBrute: He's angered by Metphies' "betrayal" when he informs Haruo how to stop the nanometal from spreading. He's so far gone, he can't see why even the Exif would side against him.
* EvilGenius: Mechagodzilla was his idea and he's the one truly controlling the ''City on the Edge of Battle''. [[spoiler: He also plans to forcibly convert the entire planet into nanometal once Godzilla's dead.]]
* EvilAllAlong: It's implied that had Mechagodzilla successfully activated and defeated Godzilla, he would have turned it against humanity afterward, which us something Metphies correctly deduces in the first film. Sure enough, by the time the second film rolls around and Mechagodzilla turns out to still be active, Galu-gu plots to use it for nefarious purposes once Godzilla is dealt with.
-->'''Metphies''': Had your Mechagodzilla worked, who would it have turned its fangs on after Godzilla? An interesting thought.
* {{Expy}}: Of Mugal from ''Film/TerrorOfMechagodzilla'' -- being a member of the Black Hole Planet 3 aliens who creates Mechagodzilla, with the intent of using it to conquer Earth. '''Mu'''lu-elu '''Gal'''u-gu's name even has Mugal's as part of it.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: He lays out his beliefs to Haruo in the climax of ''City on the Edge of Battle'', and asks that Haruo help him. When Haruo rejects his offer and opens fire on Galu-gu's command center, Galu-gu calmly accepts his fate and rises from his chair as the base explodes around him.
* FantasticRacism: He detests the Houtua, calling them "insects" repeatedly and twice abiding to their total extinction if that's what is needed to achieve whatever the team seeks (escaping back to the Aratum the first time, the second time assimilating enough of the countryside to be able to kill Godzilla and anything related to it for good).
* KnightTemplar: [[AtLeastIAdmitIt Surprisingly open about being one]], especially when the AssimilationPlot is revealed:
-->"All monsters are called "monsters" as they cannot be defeated by "people". And to defeat what has surpassed human intellect is outside the capacity of human achievement. [[HeWhoFightsMonsters The moment you decide to defeat Godzilla, you're aspiring to become something that is no longer human]]."
* MoreDakka: Justified. He orders all of [[spoiler: Mechagodzilla City]]’s weapons to unload every bit of ammunition into Godzilla Earth to overwhelm his shielding so that the EMP Harpoons can hit his weak spot.
* NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist: Claims that assimilation is a higher form of life and necessary to win the war, but given that's only a sentiment shared by his species, as well as his [[LackOfEmpathy total disregard]] for potential life destroyed in the process, it becomes more and more clear that he's an extreme space-fascist out to impose his genocidal vision on an innocent planet.
* OddFriendship: Despite being members of rival species, Mulu-elu Galu-gu shares a laugh with Metphies at Captain Mori's expense, openly discusses the would-be invasion plans of their respective species, and is secretly in on his conspiracy with Haruo. This may be why Galu-gu furiously rebukes Metphies when he sides with Haruo in the climax of ''City''.
* OmnicidalManiac: He shows no concern about the Nanometal consuming all life on the planet as long as he secures victory over the monster that plagued his kind.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: To terrifying extremes; he views the native Houtua as "bug people" and sees nothing wrong with slaughtering them all to ensure his victory.
* ShadowArchetype: To Haruo, as revealed in the second movie. Godzilla killed over 700 of his comrades when he attacked Mechagdzilla before the events of the movie series. As a result Galu-Gu wants revenge even more than Haruo does, [[JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope to the point that he feeds himself and most of his own race to Mechagodzilla's nanometal to do so]]. Haruo is horrified as the implications sink in, prompting him to turn away from RevengeBeforeReason.
* ShootTheDog: In the climax of ''Planet of Monsters'', Haruo launches himself at Godzilla's dorsal fin, hits it with the EMP, and orders Galu-gu to shoot. Galu-gu hesitates because Haruo is right in their line of fire but ultimately follows Haruo's orders because things have gotten desperate.
* StrawVulcan: [[spoiler:He seriously thinks Haruo is driven enough by revenge that he will accept turning the whole planet and everybody in it into GreyGoo if that's what it takes to fulfill TheNeedsOfTheMany. Unfortunately even when dealing with ''the'' GodzillaThreshold, Haruo still refuses because Yuko didn't sign up for ''that'' kind of price.]]
* VillainHasAPoint: He throws his at Haruo, who wants nothing but revenge against Godzilla. He flat-out tells him the moment Haruo sought vengeance, he is becoming something that isn't human: A monster.
* WalkingSpoiler: It's hard to talk about him without revealing his true plans for his species and Earth.
* YoureInsane:
** When Haruo vetoes his protest against sending their dropships to the frontlines -- which if destroyed would prevent them from returning to the ''Aratrum'' -- with the statement that the don't need them since they're already home, Galu-gu incredulously calls Haruo insane.
** This is thrown back at him in the second film where he intends to fuse his race with nanometal to kill Godzilla.

!!!'''Portrayed By:''' Creator/KentaMiyake (JP); Rich Brown (EN)

A Bilusaludo military instructor and close associate of Colonel Galu-gu.

* AlasPoorVillain: Belu-be does value Haruo as an ally. However, he dies a rather undeserving death when Haruo is forced to destroy Mechagodzilla City to prevent it from spreading and save Yuko.
* TheBigGuy: Of the Earth landing party. Belu-be is a tough soldier and leads the ariel attack on Godzilla in the first movie. When they confront Godzilla in the second movie, he goes out in a MiniMecha to support Haruo and Yuko.
* TheDragon: [[spoiler:To Galu-gu after being assimilated by the nanometal.]]
* FantasticRacism: Played slightly humorously when Haruo orders him and the others to continue their attack on Godzilla in ''Planet of the Monsters'', and Belu-be just grumbles in retort.
-->"This is why I hate stubborn species."
* OhCrap: [[spoiler:Upon realizing Haruo intends to destroy Mechagodzilla's control unit, Belu-be panics and desperately tries to intercept him, but is too late to prevent Galu-gu's death and the destruction of the city.]]
* OutgrownSuchSillySuperstitions: With the Bilusaludo's focus on the material, Belu-be is an atheist like the rest of his species.
-->'''Yuko''': "Major Belu-be said that any intellectual life relying on religion is immature."
* PetTheDog: From Belu-be's point of view, he's trying to comfort Haruo by letting him know he values him as a comrade, and would even consider him a brother once the assimilation was complete. Unfortunately for him, Haruo isn't fond of the assimilation process, nor what it's doing to Yuko.
* TheStoic: He's usually very taciturn and holds himself together under pressure. [[spoiler:[[NotSoStoic He later drops it when Haruo threatens to blow up Mechagodzilla's control center]].]]
* VillainousBreakdown: Near the end, he [[spoiler:quickly loses composure and dissolves into panicked fury when Haruo goes against the Bilusaludo's assimilation plan.]]

[[folder:Halu-elu Dolu-do]]
!!!'''Portrayed By:''' Creator/KazuyaNakai (JP); Doug Stone (EN)

The Bilusaludo leader and a member of the ship's Central Committee.

* AvengingTheVillain: [[spoiler:Dolu-do turns into an antagonist for ''Godzilla: Planet Eater'' when he takes over the ship's engines and demands that Haruo be disciplined for killing the Bilusaludo who were deployed to Earth]].
* MoralMyopia: Present in all of the Bilusaludo but especially pronounced with Dolu-do. He's outraged at Haruo's actions [[spoiler:getting Gelu-gu and the others killed as well as sabotaging Mechagodzilla]]. Hamamoto retorts that Haruo's actions could have prevented a bigger disaster and that [[spoiler:Mechagodzilla]] was a Bilusaludo plot for global domination. Dolu-do, like the other Bilusaludo, doesn't seem to have an issue with mechanical assimilation, viewing it as a step forward that benefits all humanoid life whether they want it or not.
* PetTheDog: When Mechagodzilla fails to come online and the facility is under attack by Godzilla the staff run away, save for Gelu-gu who tries to remain behind and get him to activate. Dolu-du forcibly drags him out of the laboratory before Godzilla vaporizes the area.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: In ''Godzilla: Planet Eater'' he says this about [[spoiler:Haruo's actions]] as he feels it cost them a victory against Godzilla and a number of his best men.

!! Houtua - SPOILERS

[[folder:General]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/houtua.png]]

* AdmiringTheAbomination: They worshipped Mothra as a deity, and after the original was killed by Godzilla they continued to worship her egg and unborn offspring.
* AppliedPhlebotinum: Their arrowheads are made from pieces of nanometal extracted from Mecha-Godzilla.
* HadToBeSharp: Living on a world that over 20,000 years steadily became a DeathWorld will cause this. Most of their strength and speed comes from adapting to their environment; with the rest including some of their durability being attributed to Mothra's monster factor.
* HumanSubspecies: They are the surviving descendants of the humans who were left behind on Earth, having spent 20,000 years adapting to the drastically altered conditions on the Earth. Adam notes they have some insect-like attributes and speculates they acquired what he calls a monster factor from the kaiju they submitted themselves to (namely Mothra) -- like the Servum and most of life on Earth did with Godzilla. As a result, they possess telepathy as well as powder-like scales that protect them from Mecha-Godzilla's nanometal.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: While Maina briefly appears at the film's midpoint, spying on the ''Aratrum''[='=]s soldiers as they explore the alien forest, the existence of the Houtua is for the most part kept secret until the dramatic reveal at the end of the first film; the synopsis for the sequel makes no secret of their existence.
* LittleBitBeastly: Rather {{downplayed}}, but they have features such as naturally-growing scales and antennae thanks to Mothra's "monster factor".
* NobleSavage: They maintain a generally Palaeolithic way of life, using nanometal-tipped arrows and spears as weapons and living in cavern-cities to avoid the Servum and Godzilla. Adam is endlessly fascinated by their society, but [[FantasticRacism the Bilusaludo regard them with contempt]]--Mulu-elu Galu-gu deriding them as a devolution of humanity that should be exterminated.
* {{Telepathy}}: By borrowing the "Song of the Egg", they are able to telepathically communicate with the landing team.
* SuperSenses: One of their abilities is to be able to sense danger. This can be carried over to anyone else they use their powder on.

[[folder:Servum]]

!! Flying-Type Servum

* ExtraEyes: They have multiple glowing red eyes, a contrast to Godzilla's surprisingly human-like blue eyes.
* GlassCannon: They're a fast and vicious race of aliens who can kill humans with ease and tear through metal. However, they're still big targets and can be killed by small arms let alone the heavy artillery that humanity has access to.
* JaggedMouth: Their fangs are the same shade of metalling green-black as the rest of their bodies.
* MeaningfulName: "Servum" can translate to servant, subordinate, or slave. Given Godzilla's title as king of the monsters and the Servum attack humans when Godzilla [[spoiler:or his son]] can't get to them and intervene to attack the aircraft assaulting Godzilla [[spoiler: Filius]], it's implied they are his servants trying to aid their master.
* {{Planimal}}: Like Godzilla, they are plant-based organisms with primarily animal attributes.
* RazorWings: Their metallic flesh renders their wings razor-sharp, capable of damaging the hull of the ''Aratrum''[='=]s dropships.
* StarfishAliens: Presuming Metphies's theory that Godzilla is extraterrestrial in origin is correct, the Servum are winged, draconic offshoots of Godzilla. The fact that they are almost genetically identical to him ''and'' to the surrounding foliage is a shock for the soldiers.
* ZergRush: A swarm of them attack the base camp in this manner, killing dozens of soldiers before being slain.

!! Ground-Type Servum

* LampreyMouth: They have radial mouths full of teeth.
* {{Planimal}}: Like Godzilla, they are plant-based organisms with primarily animal attributes.
* SandWorm: Though they live in the forest, they are worm-like organisms that burrow through the undergrowth.
* ZergRush: Like their winged counterparts, they attack in swarms.

[[folder:Kamacuras]]
* AdaptationalBadass: Has killed more humans than any of its previous incarnations.
* AdaptationalWimp: It was killed by bunker buster bombs, compared to its ''[[Film/GodzillaFinalWars Final Wars]]'' incarnation who managed to power through several advanced military missiles.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: Kamacuras is a giant praying mantis.
* MilitariesAreUseless: Invoked since Kamacuras attacked a heavily populated area, causing the military response was delayed.
* WhatIf: It was a Kaiju that destroyed the World Trade Center.
* StarterVillain: Kamacuras was the first reported sighting of a Kaiju.

[[folder:Kamoebas]]

* ShoutOut: Kamoebas having his arm missing is a reference to ''Film/Gamera3AwakeningOfIrys''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Anguirus]]
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: The first Anguirus was killed in China by corrosive sludge from Hedorah.
* LegacyCharacter: A year later, another Anguirus appeared, and was named Anguirus II. It was summarily followed by Anguirus III and Anguirus IV.
* MythologyGag: Anguirus IV was killed by Godzilla along with Varan II and Baragon II. This referenced the original script to ''Film/GodzillaMothraKingGhidorahGiantMonstersAllOutAttack''.

* LetsYouAndHimFight: Hedorah was sent by the Chinese military to kill Anguirus and Rodan
* TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: Hedorah went rogue after killing Anguirus and Rodan.
* WeaponOfMassDestruction: Hedorah was first discovered as small organisms before the Chinese developed them into a bioweapon.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Hedorah disappeared after consuming all the pollution from China. It hasn't been seen since.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gabara]]
* ColdBloodedTorture: Gabara spent its time in the rainforest killing and torturing wildlife.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Gabara gets torn apart by the animals it tortured sadistically.
* MythologyGag: The one who discovered Gabara was Albert Ichiro Santos, who was based on Ichiro Miki from ''Film/AllMonstersAttack''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Megalon]]
* AdaptationalBadass: Megalon killed more humans than its [[Film/GodzillaVsMegalon Showa]] counterpart.
* LetsYouAndHimFight: Megalon duels against King Caesar.
* MythologyGag: His fighting against King Caesar is likely a reference to their ancient rivalry in ''ComicBook/GodzillaRulersOfEarth''.

[[folder:Gezora]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ebirah]]
* AdaptationalBadass: Downplayed since it's pretty much killed by a single human ship in 2015.
* NoodleIncident: Apparently there was an Ebirah I and II before the third one appeared and killed by the USS Saratoga.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dagahra]]
* PyrrhicVictory: Dagahra was defeated but his Barem infects Australia causing it to turn into a wasteland.

[[folder:Griffin]]
* ExplosiveBreeder: Having not been wiped out completely, the Griffin multiplied, swarmed Egypt, and took it over.

[[folder:Orga]]
* AdaptationalWimp: It was defeated by mankind despite being able to heal itself.

[[folder:Manda]]
* LordOfTheOcean: Manda ruled over the Atlantic Ocean for over a decade.

[[folder:Ganimes]]
* RelatedInTheAdaptation: Scientists presumed Destroyah is a subspecies of Ganimes.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Varan]]
* CurbStompBattle: Varan II was killed by Godzilla.
* MythologyGag: Varan II was killed by Godzilla along with Anguirus IV and Baragon II. This referenced the original script to ''Film/GodzillaMothraKingGhidorahGiantMonstersAllOutAttack''.
* NoodleIncident: Apparently, there was another Varan before the one killed by Godzilla Earth.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Baragon]]
* CurbStompBattle: Baragon II was killed by Godzilla.
* MythologyGag: Baragon II was killed by Godzilla along with Varan II and Anguirus IV. This referenced the original script to ''Film/GodzillaMothraKingGhidorahGiantMonstersAllOutAttack''.
* NoodleIncident: Apparently, there was another Baragon before the one killed by Godzilla Earth.

[[folder:Kumonga]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Megaguirus]]

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Biollante]]
* AttackItsWeakPoint: Mogeura destroys Biollante by boring into the nucleus in her root cavity.
* BotanicalAbomination: Much like Godzilla Earth, it is an abnormal plant-based entity of unspecified origin. Over the course of ''Monster Apocalypse'' it transforms from a giant flower form to a colossal "plant beast" with power comparable to Godzilla's.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gigan]]
* AdaptationalHeroism: Even if it is by force, this version of Gigan is the only Kaiju, other than Mothra, that has fought for humanity.
* HealingFactor: The Bilusaludo injected Gigan with specialized nanometal to repair himself from damage. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to save him from Godzilla.
* MutilationConga: Suffers this each time he faces against Godzilla.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Zilla]]
* AdaptationalBadass: The Zilla species survived a lot longer than most of the other monsters.
* MythologyGag: Zilla's chapter is essentially the worst-case scenario from ''Film/Godzilla1998'', with Zilla being killed fairly easily but laying hundreds of eggs that then hatch and take over entire cities.
* ExplosiveBreeder: Zillas make up for their weakness against conventional weaponry by spawning hundreds of young to overwhelm enemies.
* ZergRush: The Baby Zillas provided distraction by swarming opponents, allowing the adults to deal the finishing blow.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gorosaurus]]
* MythologyGag: Gorosaurus's attack on Paris is similar to his Showa incarnation's in ''Film/DestroyAllMonsters''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Battra]]

* AdaptationalBadass: While he ultimately lost, it's implied he put up one heck of fight against Godzilla Earth and ripped off one of his dorsal spines, making him one of the few kaiju capable of meaningfully harming Godzilla. Had he not fought Godzilla prematurely and lost, he and Mothra could've flat out killed him together.
* DoNotGoGentle: While he ultimately lost and was killed, he still managed to deal serious damage to Godzilla Earth and is one of the very few kaiju who can.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: If Battra had confronted Godzilla far later, when he had Mothra beside him, the two could have taken out the King of the Monsters for good. But he didn't.
