!Splash Star Pretty Cure
[[folder:Tropes applying to both]]
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: Both Saki and Mai heavily contrasts to Nagisa and Honoka, the Cure duo from ''Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure'' and its sequel ''[=MaX=]''.
** Just like the previous season's Cures, both Saki and Mai have to be altogether to transform and perform their attacks. While both Nagisa and Honoka's attacks as Cures Black and White are solely focusing on straightly defeating the MonstersOfTheWeek, Saki and Mai's attacks often focus on purification rather than straightforwardly defeating them, which is a trend that would become more prevalent in the next seasons. Both Nagisa and Honoka use offensive, physical attacks in battle, whereas Saki and Mai aligned more on magical attacks. While both Nagisa and Honoka only have one Cure alter ego, Saki and Mai later earned another Cure alter ego (Bright and Windy) besides their original Cure alter egos (Bloom and Egret).
** Before becoming Pretty Cures, both Nagisa and Honoka were virtually strangers to both each other who had nothing in common. On the other hand, Saki and Mai firstly met five years prior to the events of ''Splash Star'', which happened after minions of the Dark Fall attacked both Flappy and Choppy and had reunited against her in the present when they were chosen to be Cures.
* ThemeNaming: The names for the Splash Star Cures heavily relates to flowers, birds, winds and moons, like its main theme. Saki's full name translates to "sunny place" in line to her theme of flowers (Bloom) and the Moon (Bright), while Mai's full name translates to "soaring beauty" in line to her theme of birds (Egret) and wind (Windy).

->''[[TransformationNameAnnouncement "The shining golden flower, Cure Bloom!"'' / ''"The full moon in the sky, Cure Bright!"]]''

One of the Pretty Cure duo who met Mai Mishou five years prior. Much later, she would meet Mai again when they are suddenly attacked by Dark Fall's forces. Resolving to protect two mascots who appeared to her and Mai five years ago, she gains the power to become Cure Bloom to save the Land of Fountains and protect the Fountain of the Sun. Later in the show, she gains the power to become Cure Bright through Moop's power.
----
* BigOlEyebrows: Saki has interestingly drawn eyebrows that make hers look thicker than other characters, both in the series and compared to [[Anime/PrettyCureAllStars other characters from the entire franchise]]. Her eyebrows are quite distracting for many fans; the source of that "I want to lick Not-Nagisa's salty eyebrows" meme.
* BoyishShortHair: While not in her Cure form, she has short slicked-back hair which goes with her athletic personality.
* CharacterCatchphrase: "I'm in top form!"[[note]]''Zekkouchou!''[[/note]] Looks like she inherits it from her mother.
* CoolBigSis: In contrast to Nagisa who always argues with [[AnnoyingYoungerSibling her brother Ryota]], Saki really loves her little sister Minori. They even share the same bedroom.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: While she has some commonalities to her predecessor [[Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure Nagisa Misumi]], who is her {{Expy}}, Saki is very different to Nagisa in many ways.
** Both are energetic and tomboyish {{Genki Girl}}s who both have orange short hair. While Nagisa is very HotBlooded who is exciteable with the tip of a hat, Saki is virtually goofier and much less so HotBlooded than Nagisa. Their appearances as Cure also contrasts. Nagisa, as Cure Black, wears [[DarkIsNotEvil black-coloured]] clothing and her hair length is virtually the same as her non-Cure form. Saki, as Cure Bloom/Cure Bright, has a much longer hair as both Cure Bloom and Bright and wears [[LightIsGood brighter-coloured]] clothing, with shades of pink as Cure Bloom and yellow as Cure Bright. While Nagisa initially goes against being a Pretty Cure [[IJustWantToBeNormal who clinged for a normal life instead]], Saki easily accepts the said opportunity to be a Cure.
** Their relationship to their siblings contrasts. While Nagisa has shown to be [[AnnoyingYoungerSibling often annoyed by her brother Ryota's antics]], Saki is a CoolBigSis who dearly loves her sister Minori, where she even shared the same bedroom with her. Their commonalities to the other Cure also differs. In Nagisa's case, she has no commonality to Honoka whatsoever before becoming a Pretty Cure. By contrast, Saki has known Mai through a rather [[ThereAreNoCoincidences not-so-coincidental]] meeting five years ago before the events of the series, after the Dark Fall's forces attacked the series' main mascots Flappy and Choppy.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Brown hair and brown eyes.
* {{Expy}}: Just like [[Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure Nagisa]], she's an energetic tomboy with short orange hair, who at first has virtually nothing in common with the other lead. That said, even from the start Saki is somewhat goofier and less HotBlooded than Nagisa, and she comes into her own as a character over the course of the season.
* GenkiGirl: Highly energetic, cheerful and sporty.
* GoodCannotComprehendEvil: Just like Akudaikahn that [[EvilCannotComprehendGood can't take the fact he creates life well]], Saki just simply can't understand Dark Fall's ideology. Raised in a household that recognizes life in everything, destroying only for the sake of it doesn't sit well with her because for her, life is just too precious.
* LightEmUp: As Cure Bright.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: She's the only one of the two duos that has no idea or has suspicion that Kaoru and Michiru are Dark Fall warriors. [[spoiler:But it's because of that, she had no doubt on each other's intentions [[note]]Mai suspects the twins of backstabbing them when she finds out, until she sees Kaoru save Minori; while the twins think that the Cures are luring them into a trap by false sense of security[[/note]], only seeing her friends as awkward, but kind-hearted people.]]
* {{Malaproper}}: Whenever Shitataare is involved, often with hilarious results thanks to mispronouncing her name. She does the same to Karehaan too, calling him "curry pan".
* MeaningfulName: "Saki" comes from the Japanese verb "saku", meaning "to bloom", while "Hyuuga" can be translated as "facing the sun".
* PlayfulCatSmile: Saki has a distinctive broad smile which frequently dips upward in the middle, giving her a cat-like expression. She's an optimistic GenkiGirl at heart.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Just like Nagisa, she's the energetic jock Tomboy to Mai's calm and intellectual Girly Girl.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Off the sports field, she generally wears skirts. She also likes cute accessories, and often wears pink.
* TropeMaker: Hyuuga Saki is very much an {{Expy}} to Misumi Nagisa. SerialNumbersFiledOff would be a more apt trope and had they not been made by the same company, there might have been legal issues. But as Cure Bloom, she has an almost entirely pink outfit which paves the way for every single succeeding Pretty Cure PinkHeroine (with [[Anime/TropicalRougePrettyCure two]] [[Anime/HirogaruSkyPrettyCure exceptions]]) having a pink outfit and/or pink hair.

->''"The sparkling silver wing, Cure Egret!"'' / ''"The scented wind across the Earth, Cure Windy!"''

A girl who met Saki five years ago at the Sky Tree during a festival. She moved back to Saki's hometown later and reunited with Saki at the same place. Resolving to protect Choppy and Flappy who appeared to her alongside her friend, she gains the power to become Cure Egret and save the Land of Fountains and protect the Fountain of the Sun. Later in the show, she gains the power to become Cure Windy through Foop's power.
----
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: It's not so much that she lacks focus; she has ''too much'' focus on things that tickle her fancy, usually her drawings, and it's difficult to distract her out of that. Choppy has to physically shake her out of her trance if that happens. [[RealityIsUnrealistic Despite the trope]], [[TruthInTelevision in the real world]] this kind of hyperfocus is actually quite common in certain presentations of ADHD and similar conditions.
* BlowYouAway: As Cure Windy, her powers focus on using wind.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: Mai is different to her immediate predecessor [[Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure Honoka Yukishiro]], despite being her {{Expy}}.
** Both are the {{Foil}} to the lead Cure, being academically talented and are serving as the smart half of the Cure duo. Though the similarities end here in terms of their individual characterisation. Honoka is technical and intellectual who solves problems analytically and heavily has fascination towards science, while Mai is creative and artistic who inclines mostly to art and drawings; though, just like Honoka she has fascinations to science, due to her parents being scientists.
** Honoka is driven towards her passion, being even [[BrutalHonesty brutally honest]] and strict about it and can come off as forceful or scary towards others for their laziness. Mai is much more relaxed and serene towards her passions, seeing how it has deep meanings to her and later drawing them heavily from inspiration. Honoka has some [[GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak very tomboyish moments besides being a girly girl]], while Mai is much more feminine in demeanour and appearance. Whereas Honoka lives at a BigFancyHouse that makes her a rich person, Mai lives at a normal household with a more average life with her family.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Purple hair, purple eyes.
* {{Expy}}: Just like [[Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure Honoka]], she's a calm studious girl with long dark hair who at first has little in common with her Cure partner. Unlike Honoka, she's artistic and sensitive rather than intellectual, although she seems fairly well-read and her marks are generally good.
* ForeheadOfDoom: Her forehead is much more prominent than Saki's.
* HyperAwareness: This girl practically has a photographic memory and good eyes [[spoiler:to notice that two people flying under moonlight hundred meters away are her classmates]].
* TheKlutz: Not her, but her mother. She's an archaeologist that often has sleep attack in the middle of doing something because she's losing sleep from her work. Mai usually is the one who bears the brunt of the damage of her shattered plates and scattered papers.
* LastNameBasis: She calls everyone except Saki and the Kiryuu sisters with (Last name)-san. The only reason she calls Michiru and Kaoru with their given names is because their surname is the same.
* LittleSisterHeroine: Subtle, but it's implied that Mai becomes more responsible and well-mannered than her somewhat indecisive older brother because in the past she used to be an AnnoyingYoungerSibling. She bonds with Minori because of their shared adoration toward their older sibling and desire to shed said AnnoyingYoungerSibling stigma for sake of said adoration.
* MeaningfulName: In Japanese "Mishou" is written with the characters for "beauty" and "fly". "Mai" translates to dance, but it can also refer to the fluttering of a bird's wings.
* NewTransferStudent: In [[Recap/FwPCSSEp01ASurprisingReunionYouTwoAreWho Episode 1]]; unique in that she's transferring to come back to her homeland.
* NiceGal: Soft-spoken, well-mannered, and non-confrontational. She's loyal to her friends to the point of [[spoiler:CantSpitItOut when she saw Michiru and Kaoru as Dark Fall warriors because she can only see them as friends and she is unsure whether telling Saki is a right choice for their friendship.]]
* PacifistWind: Mai Mishou as Cure Windy, has wind magic that allows her to fly, fight with [[BlowYouAway wind magic]], and has overall improved agility. She has a gentle, soft-spoken, and non-confrontational personality to go along with her SensitiveArtist characterization. This is to provide contrast between her and Saki, her GenkiGirl partner for the series in a EnergeticAndSoftSpokenDuo.
* SensitiveArtist: Mai is a calm, gentle, and kind young girl, in [[EnergeticAndSoftSpokenDuo contrast to]] her friend and Pretty Cure partner, GenkiGirl Saki Hyuuga. Her intuitiveness seems to be part of the reason why she was able to [[spoiler:[[HyperAwareness know that the two people flying in the distance under the moonlight were her two classmates]] from hundreds of meters away]]. She loves art and joins the Art Club in school, where her art becomes so well regarded that she is asked to design the school's monument later on.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: She's the artistic studious Girly Girl to Saki's athletic Tomboy.

A mascot from the Land of Fountains who appeared to Mai and Saki in the past. After meeting the two again, he becomes Saki's partner.
----
* CannotSpitItOut: To Choppy. [[spoiler:He finally spat it out in an AnguishedDeclarationOfLove in the last episode.]]
* MentorMascot: Briefs Saki on the whole situation with Dark Fall and reveals new things they encounter.
* NonHumanSidekick: An adorable critter from the Land of Fountains who tags along with Saki.

[[quoteright:237:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/newstage2choppyconcept.png]]
Another mascot from the Land of Fountains who also appeared to Mai and Saki five years ago. After meeting the two again, she becomes Mai's companion.

* NonHumanSidekick: An adorable critter from the Land of Fountains who sticks with Mai.

[[caption-width-right:200:Foop]]
Two mascots who appear later to aid Saki and Mai against Dark Fall and give them the power to become Cure Bright and Cure Windy respectively.
----
* AndYouWereThere: They [[ActingForTwo share voice actors with with Michiru and Kaoru]].
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Especially to Flappy.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Their borderline UndyingLoyalty and insistence to save Michiru and Kaoru from the Dark Fall, even though they are directly responsible for the destruction of their Fountain, is because the twins saved them from a falling tree, spared their lives, and allowed them to keep staying in the Fountain even though their job includes fairy-killing, [[spoiler:long before their HeelFaceTurn.]]
* BlowYouAway: Foop's powers is over wind.
* {{Lunacy}}: Moop's powers is based on the moon.
* NonHumanSidekick: They're critters from the Land of Fountains who go along with Saki and Mai.
* TagalongKid: They fall into this.
* VerbalTic: "~mupu" for Moop, "~pupu" for Foop.

[[quoteright:210:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/princess_filia.png]]
The ruler of the Land of Fountains.
----
* EyesAlwaysShut: We never see her opening her eyes throughout the show.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Gentle to her subjects and nature spirits and knows how to reward Saki and Mai.
[[/folder]]

!Dark Fall
[[folder:Uzaina]]
!!!Voiced by: Hideo Watanabe (Japanese)
The monsters Akudaikahn's generals summon, made from a ghostly spirit possessing an object. Once purified the spirits from the Land of Fountains are freed. They usually take on the element the general has power over.
----
* AnimateInanimateObject: Just like the Zakennas before them, they can possess objects and look like them when they attack.
* DishingOutDirt: Dorodoron's Uzainas usually are based on earth, or objects found on ground or under the ground. They can thus deal attacks based on dirt and earth.
* ExtraOreDinary: Kintolesky's monsters have their powers and appearance based on metal or metallic objects.
* MakingASplash: Mizu Shitataare's Uzainas usually are based on water or water sources such as a faucet. As such, they can deal attacks based on water.
* MeaningfulName: Their name is taken from "uzainā", a Japanese word which translates to "it's annoying".
* MonsterOfTheWeek: They're the second set of monsters who terrorize the Land of Greenery in the franchise.
* RockMonster: Some of Dorodoron's monsters are based on rocks found on the ground or under it.
* WhenTreesAttack: Karehan's first Uzaina possesses a tree, turning it into a monstrous, mobile tree.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Karehan]]
!!! Voiced by: Creator/IsshinChiba (Japanese), Massimo Bitossi (Italian)
[[quoteright:158:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/karehan.png]]

The first general of Dark Fall to appear. He represents wood and is very serious about his job.
----
* CameBackStrong: [[spoiler:After Gooyan steals the Fairy Charafe, he is revived with Gooyan's mark and far more strength than when the Cures first confronted him.]]
* TheComicallySerious: This guy is almost no-nonsense, except regarding his nickname Karecchi. He allows almost everyone to call him that.
* EnemyMine: He dislikes Moerumba (mostly because their elements are incompatible and Moerumba [[AmbiguouslyGay rubs him the wrong way]]), but when it comes to fighting Precure, the combination is simply devastating. The Cures only manage to survive because when victory is almost assured, Karehan and Moerumba start fighting again, forcing Gohyan to retreat them both.
* TheGenericGuy: He lacks the personality quirks of the other warriors.
* GreenThumb: His powers revolve around wood.
* MeaningfulName: "Kareha" means "dead leaves".
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Moerumba]]
!!! Voiced by: Creator/KeiichiNanba (Japanese), Gianluca Solombrino (Italian)
[[quoteright:280:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/moerumba.png]]

The second general of Dark Fall to appear. He represents fire and enjoys dancing and partying.
----
* AmbiguouslyGay: He seems to be hitting on Karehan [[spoiler:after their revival]], though it might have been just to mess with him.
* CameBackStrong: [[spoiler:He is revived alongside Karehan with more strength. They even did a CombinationAttack to overpower the Pretty Cure.]]
* DanceBattler: He often dances and snaps his fingers in battle with the Cures.
* GratuitousSpanish: "Senorita!"
* KickTheDog: Following too many failures, he threatens to harm Choppy and Flappy into revealing the Fountain of the Sun's location in front of Saki and Mai.
* LaughablyEvil: This guy really is fun to watch on screen, even if he is the bad guy.
* LeeroyJenkins: Basically his FatalFlaw; he's too impatient to attack strategically (even [[BloodKnight Kintolesky]] is better at this than him), using two Uzaina at once to overwhelm the girls in his arc's last episode. As warriors of Dark Fall die from using up all their Miracle Drops to make Uzainas and taking too much damage, this is an [[ElementalRockPaperScissors incredibly stupid move]] as the Cures' finisher is [[MakingASplash Twin Stream Splash]]... [[spoiler:and this happens again when Gohyan resurrects all the generals. He's such a glory seeker that he ignores Kintolesky's warning and charges head on to his seemingly defeated opponents, only to get blasted at point blank ''twice''.]]
* MeaningfulName: "Moeru" means burn, while rumba is self-explanatory.
* PlayingWithFire: His powers revolve around fire.
* SissyVillain: He has a feminine vibe to his character.
* VerbalTic: Likes to say "Cha Cha" at the end of his sentences.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dorodoron]]
!!! Voiced by: Creator/MitsuoIwata (Japanese), Guido di Naccio (Italian)
[[quoteright:190:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dorodoron.png]]

The third general of Dark Fall to appear. He represents earth and is rather bad at his job.
----
* CameBackStrong: [[spoiler:Was revived with the other generals, with Gooyan's mark and more strength than the last time he confronted Saki and Mai. He and Karehan even nearly defeated the duo until [[HeelFaceTurn Michiru and Kaoru intervened!]]]]
* DishingOutDirt: His powers are based on earth.
* DirtyCoward: [[spoiler:In the final arc, when the Cures are about to use their final attack on him and Karehan, he proceeds to flee and leaves Karehan to die, which Karehan even notes in his final words.]]
* DumbMuscle: You thought Gekidrago was stupid? This guy’s even dumber!
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: He rarely ever gets any success against Pretty Cure.
* MeaningfulName: "Doro" means dirt.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: When he [[OneWingedAngel merged with an Uzaina]] in episode 20, he made it easier for the Precures to defeat him because it was more difficult for him to keep his balance in that form. That was also the last time he got to fight the Cures until the final arc, as he died moments afterwards.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: Despite being actually not so competent, he almost defeats the Precures, but [[spoiler:Michiru and Kaoru secretly saves them]].
* ShrinkingViolet: He's a bit of a coward when it comes to fighting.
* SimpletonVoice: He sounds very much like a Japanese-speaking version of Grounder from ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfSonicTheHedgehog''.
* SuperMode: He merges with an Uzaina for his final battle.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Michiru and Kaoru Kiryuu]]
!!! Voiced by: Creator/YurikoFuchizaki [Michiru], Creator/YukaImai (episode 14 to 19) and Creator/AkemiOkamura (episode 20 onwards) [Kaoru] (Japanese); Creator/VeronicaPuccio [Michiru], Creator/FrancescaManicone [Kaoru] (Italian)

Two girls who are Akudaikahn's children.
----
* EleventhHourSuperpower: [[spoiler:They gain Moop and Foop's powers of the wind and the moon during the Cures' final battle with Gooyan.]]
* ArtificialHuman: Unlike the other members of Dark Fall, who were constructed from their element, Akudaikahn created the Kiryuu sisters whole cloth.
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:In episode 42, they are reborn and appear in front of Precure to protect them from the also reborn Dorodoron and Karehaan.]]
* BlankSlate: Much of their development comes from being exposed to the human world, and, of course, friendship.
* TheBusCameBack: They appeared in ''Anime/PowerOfHopePrecureFullBloom'', 16 years after the conclusion of their home series. While they are TheGhost in the first eight episodes, Episode 9 marks their first real on-screen appearance.
* ConvenientComa: [[spoiler:Following the FinalBossPreview with Akudaikhan, they were placed in limbo until they responded and returned to Saki and Mai to help them against Dark Fall.]]
* CreepyTwins: They're twin sisters who are working for the villains.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Blue hair and eyes for Kaoru, red for Michiru.
* DarkMagicalGirl: They possess powers to fight the Pretty Cure and they're working for the villains.
* DisneyDeath: [[spoiler:First when Akudaikahn whacks them out as they help Saki and Mai escape and the second right after they defeat [[FinalBoss Gooyan]].]]
* DemotedToExtra: Despite being so important in the series, they only earned a small cameo in ''Anime/PrettyCureAllStars'', while the second upgrades it to around three lines of dialogue. {{Averted}} in ''[=PreCure=] Full Bloom'' when they play a role in helping the [=Yes!=] team out by locating the Shadows across the city as the [=VTubers=] Dark Night Light.
* EmotionlessGirl: Kaoru doesn't show much emotion at first.
* EmptyEyes: Not as dull of a color as most other examples, but there is a sense of lifelessness in their eyes. It's worse when they fight the Cures, as it makes them look inhuman. [[spoiler:The glossy look slowly disappears as they make their HeelFaceTurn bit by bit until the eyes are completely normal-looking at the last few episodes.]]
* EvilRedhead: Michiru has reddish-maroon hair and is working with Dark Fall to defeat the Cures. [[spoiler:At first, anyway.]]
* ForeheadOfDoom: Kaoru has a large forehead.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:Due to their friendship with Saki and Mai, they help them against Akudaikhan and end up getting sealed away and [[ConvenientComa placed into a coma]]. Once revived, they both cast their lot with Saki and Mai against Dark Fall.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:At the end of the FinalBossPreview against Akudaikahn, they undergo this when they save the Cures by sending them away from Dark Fall. It turns out they didn't die, but were sealed away.]]
* LickedByTheDog: Minori takes a liking to Kaoru, and calls her [[UsefulNotes/JapaneseSiblingTerminology Kaoru-oneesan]]. Kaoru feels ambivalent towards her.
* MeaningfulName: "Kiryuu" is written with the character for "fog" and another character that means "life" or "birth". Michiru means "to be full" as in [[spoiler:a full moon]], while Kaoru means "fragrance".
* NoBodyLeftBehind: [[spoiler:They very nearly become this.]]
* NoSocialSkills: Obviously justified, what with their origins and all. They grow out of this.
* PacifistWind: Downplayed. Though Kaoru doesn't start the story with any wind association and exhibits much more of a cold, detached BrutalHonesty personality for most of the story. However, [[spoiler:when her and her twin sister Michiru are forced to fight Saki and Mai, whereas her [[PolarOppositeTwins Michiru on a denial fuelled rage]], Kaoru realizes that fighting Saki and Mai isn't right, calms Michiru down to avoid doing so, and reconciles with Saki and Mai. Soon after, Kaoru acquires the ability to transform into Cure Windy.]]
* PetTheDog: Saving and sparing Moop and Fuup's lives, Kaoru towards Minori and a minor instance of her helping a snail get back up on a leaf.
* PureMagicBeing: They are made from "[[CastingAShadow the power]] [[PowerOfTheVoid of destruction]]", which leads to problems when [[spoiler: they turn against Dark Fall - if the power of destruction vanishes, so do they. When they do begin to vanish, they're saved by the spirits of the Earth, and the PowerOfFriendship.]]
* RedOniBlueOni: Their personalities match their hair colors. The blue-haired Kaoru is calmer and more rational than the red-haired Michiru who is more obviously emotional.
* RetGone: Everybody but Saki, Mai and the mascots forget that they ever existed after they disappear.
* SiblingYinYang: Exist in subverted archetypes; Michiru might be the friendlier of the two but she's actually a StepfordSmiler who doesn't understand the reason of such novelties, while Kaoru is more prone of BrutalHonesty because she's insightful of her surrounding and doesn't see the point of faking her concern. [[spoiler:Then they play it straight; when they face their inevitable fight with the Cures, Michiru quickly despairs and goes into a berserk denial, while Kaoru notices that fighting is not something that they want, makes peace with her contradicting existence and stops her sister.]]
* SirNotAppearingInThisTrailer: They only appear briefly in the second ending credits sequence.
* SuperIntelligence: At one point they say they can read a school textbook once and remember it all.
* VillainousRescue: Helping Precure in their last fight against Dorodoron by cutting his web that has tied them up.
* VirtualYouTuber: In the spin-off sequel ''Anime/PowerOfHopePrecureFullBloom'' both of them are revealed to have started Dark Night Light, their own video channel, as they became famous internet celebrities.

The fourth general of Dark Fall to appear. She represents water and is the only female of the five generals.
----
* AccidentalMisnaming: Saki doesn't ever remember her name correctly and calls her "Hanamizu Taare". "Hanamizu" is Japanese for "runny nose".
* AnimeHair: She has silver hair styled into a beehive with drill-like curls falling at both sides.
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: She has water powers and wears a blue dress with the addition of marabou down feather trimming, making her sleeves and skirt resemble waterfalls.
* BerserkButton: She always gets angry at Saki for getting her name wrong.
* EnemyMine: The reason why she invokes IWasJustPassingThrough, ThinkingOutLoud, and open a portal directly into Gooyan's lair; she's so furious that Gooyan is one step away from her by capturing Flappy and Choppy, she decides to help the Cures reclaim their fairies.
* HighCollarOfDoom: She's a villain and wears a dress with a high collar.
* IceMagicIsWater: Her water powers extend to manipulating ice.
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: She seems to compete with Kintolesky for the title of Dark Fall's strongest, and being constantly one-upped by both him and the Cures really gets into her skin. Her interaction with the Cures really gets into ItsPersonal territory because of this reason, with both sides are not only physically clashing but also taunting psychologically and exchanging trash-talk.
* KickTheDog: Taunting Mai and Saki via reminding them of [[spoiler:Kaoru and Michiru's FateWorseThanDeath.]]
* LadyOfWar: Ignoring her personality, she's actually a quite graceful fighter. She opts to dodge any attack with twirling motions and redirects physical attacks with her hands, not unlike Cure Egret herself. Most visible in [[Anime/PrettyCureAllStars DX 2]], when she dodges [[Anime/YesPrettyCure5 Prism Chain]] with a simple twirl before charging at Precure 5 team, while Moerumba jumps away from the attack before it connects.
* LaughablyEvil: She's not as silly as Moerumba, but she's very funny at times.
* MakingASplash: Her elemental powers revolve around water.
* MeaningfulName:"Mizu" means "water" and while "shitataru", means "dripping".
* MinionShipping: [[spoiler:Has feelings for Kintolesky.]]
* NoblewomansLaugh: She's quite good at cackling like a haughty rich noble.
* PaperThinDisguise: Notably happens in almost all her appearances with her disguise doing little to mask her exterior.
* PunnyName: The katakana of "Ms./Miss" are romanized as "mizu"; this is a pun with the Japanese word "Mizu", which means "water".
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Out of the generals of Dark Fall, Shitataare is the only female.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: She shapeshifter into human disguises to keep tables on Mai and Saki.
* WaterIsWomanly: She's the sole female general of Dark Fall and is themed around the element of water.

The fifth and final general to appear. He represents metal and is a bodybuilder who enjoys fighting strong opponents.
----
* BloodKnight: He enjoys fighting strong opponents, whether they be the Pretty Cure or [[spoiler: the defecting Kiryuu Sisters.]]
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Due to his BloodKnight tendencies. Early on he even says Earth isn't so bad, but he simply does not comprehend that not everyone likes fighting, or that there are more important things than victory.
* DumbMuscle: A subversion. He's not stupid, but he dislikes using strategy. In fact the first time he tries using strategy he steals Saki's school festival costume, uses it to surprise Mai...[[AndThenWhat and that's it]]. He even admits he didn't see the point. But this doesn't stop him from using ReversePsychology later on to lure Saki and Mai into a trap.
* ExtraOreDinary: His ElementalPowers allow him to control metal.
* GeniusBruiser: He's a strong guy who's also quite smart even though he doesn't like using strategy.
* GoKartingWithBowser: Advises Saki on her drawing for Mai.
* GracefulLoser: Compliments Precure and says he's satisfied with their fight before disintegrating.
* HellBentForLeather: Wears (possibly) leather pants.
* HulkingOut: And he's already muscular to begin with!
* {{Kiai}}: When battling [[spoiler:the defecting Kiryuu Sisters]], he cries out "ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA!!!" Now [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure where have we heard this from him before]]?
* MeaningfulName: "Kin" is Japanese for gold, "kintore" is an abbreviation of "muscle training", and "suki" means "like" (As in "I like muscle training")
* MinionShipping: [[spoiler:With Shitataare.]]
* NobleDemon: Despite being evil, he always keeps his word and is above acts of [[KickTheDog petty villainy]].
* PaperThinDisguise: He often wears a jacket when out among the humans, yet no one seems to notice his yellow skin.
* SuperMode: In his final battle, he gets even more swole and does even more damage.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Only his [[PaperThinDisguise human]] disguise has him wearing clothes, which just an added hoodie and Santa costume in Christmas episode.
* WorthyOpponent: All he wants out of the Cures is a fair fight, and he complements them when they finally give it to him.

* [[AbusiveParent Abusive Father]]: [[spoiler:Sending your daughters-except-in-name into FateWorseThanDeath at the bottom of a lake after you blasted the hell out of them when they weren't fighting back really grants you the title, Akudaikahn.]]
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: He is a contrast to the Evil King from ''Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure''. Both are the rulers of their own evil organisations. While the Evil King is the true ruler of the Dusk Zone who is the one calling the shots, Akudaikan is revealed to be Goyan's creation where he is revealed to be the real ruler of Dark Fall, with Goyan actually doing the real work behind the scenes.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: [[spoiler:He's the last villain the Pretty Cure must confront...or so it seems.]]
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Learning that he created life sends him into a near LogicBomb.
* LargeAndInCharge: When he finally stands up, he destroys the Dark Fall headquarter.
* MeaningfulName: "Aku" means "evil", while "daikan" is an old word for "magistrate"; it's a reference to a villain archetype in JidaiGeki.
* OmnicidalManiac: He really wants to end all life. [[spoiler:But so does his true master…]]
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Bonus points for there being a literal throne.
* PsychoElectro: During battle, he uses lighting bolts on the Cures.
* SinisterSilhouettes: A subversion in that he really is a giant, shadowy figure. [[spoiler: Given that his SoulJar is a fire, he might be a LivingShadow.]]
* SoulJar: [[spoiler:It turns out to be an ever-burning fire. When Gooyan snuffs it out, he dies.]]
* SuperToughness: In their first confrontation with him, Bloom and Egret try to physically attack him. They end up only hurting their own limbs. He also can NoSell [[KamehameHadoken Twin Stream Splash]] without much fuss, claiming that he didn't even use half of his power.
* TrulySingleParent: At one point the Cures note that he's basically the Kiryuu sisters' father.
* UnwittingPawn: [[spoiler:He's actually Gooyan's PuppetKing as part of the latter's plan to destroy the universe.]]

A little imp who serves Akudaikahn. However, there may be more to him than just being there and looking silly...
----
* BigBad: [[spoiler:The ''true'' leader of Dark Fall who wants to destroy everything in the universe and the FinalBoss the heroes must confront.]]
* BishonenLine: Gooyan looks like a goblin [[spoiler: at first. His true form wouldn't be too out of place in ''Anime/DragonBallZ'']]
* CastingAShadow: [[spoiler:When he goes all out against the heroines, he can make an UnrealisticBlackHole and/or initiate darkness-based attacks to destroy everything and go blow-for-blow with the Cures.]]
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: To Baldez from ''Anime/FutariWaPrettyCureMaxHeart''. Both are the main antagonists of their respective series. While Baldez is the leader of the Dusk Zone who is actually the true reincarnation of the Evil King and is a threat to the Cures, Goyan is [[spoiler:an ancient being and the creator of Akudaikan, who is really the one behind the scenes in the past 48 episodes to initiate his plan of destroying both the Land of Fountain and Earth, as well as the World Tree.]] Both are the {{Final Boss}}es of their series as a OneWingedAngel. Heavily contrasting to this is Baldez takes form of the Evil King, while Goyan has its own true form not derived from a PredecessorVillain or a GreaterScopeVillain. Baldez is stern and imposing who is often soft-spoken but has some moments of temper. Goyan is a mischievous, abusive provoker where he is [[ZeroPercentApprovalRating virtually not respected]] by his lackeys, particularly Karehan, within the organisation.
* CreepyMonotone: Does a bit of this in his true form.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Don't let his silly antics fool you. [[spoiler:He's, in reality, a destructive being who orchestrated the creation of the Dark Fall by creating Akudaikan so that he can initiate his destruction of the universe as a whole. 327* EldritchAbomination: He apparently existed before the universe [[spoiler:and possesses powers capable of destroying everything. His final form's [[HumanoidAbomination kinda humanoid, though it's a little unsettling]].]]
* FauxAffablyEvil: He ''always'' speaks politely [[spoiler:even after [[ManBehindTheMan the reveal]]]]. He taunts, he shatters morale, he destroys, all the while maintaining a polite persona. [[spoiler:When his true form is shown, he might have forgone the UsefulNotes/JapaneseHonorifics, but his language is even more archaic and soft-spoken. He also becomes emotionless and more callous towards everything, [[OmnicidalManiac including his Dark Fall]].]]
* FlashStep: [[spoiler:He frequently moves around in a flash to pummel everyone during the final battle.]]
* InconsistentSpelling: His name can also be spelt as "Goyan" or "Gohyan".
* LaughablyEvil: He's a sly imp who is known to be mischievous, even engaging in silly antics to his other Dark Fall members. [[spoiler:He's simply hiding his true nature as a world destroyer, whose laughable evil moments truly make him a much worse villain to begin with.]]
* LeanAndMean: As a villain [[spoiler:and the BigBad]] Gooyan is smaller than the rest of Dark Fall's other minions.
** LargeAndInCharge: [[spoiler:Although it is revealed that this is not the case at all. He's the true leader of Dark Fall and his true form is a much taller, muscular humanoid towering the Cures during his battle with them in the GrandFinale.]]
* ManBehindTheMan: [[spoiler: He made Akudaikahn.]]
* MeaningfulName: "Goya" is a kind of melon. It may also be a reference to "Echigo-ya", a Japanese 17th century merchant group, which would evoke the "dishonest merchant" archetype in JidaiGeki.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: It's noted about mid-series that he's much more powerful than he looks. [[spoiler: And then he turns out to be the BigBad...]]
* OmnicidalManiac: [[spoiler:He intends to destroy the Land of Fountains, Earth and ''the entire universe''.]]
* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler:His true form is a stronger, hulking, muscular humanoid brute with enough strength to survive anything thrown at him, destroy the world and bash the heroines around with ease.]]
* PaperThinDisguise: In a few episodes. It's surprising no one catches onto his ''skin color''.
* SphereOfDestruction: [[spoiler:His UnrealisticBlackHole is able to destroy the whole world.]]
