-> "''Watch out, Total Drama nerds. This new guy is going all the way to the top.''"

-->''Voiced by:'' Marco Grazzini (''World Tour''), Keith Oliver (while trapped in the Drama Machine), Alex House (''All-Stars'')

-->''Teams:'' Team Chris Is Really Really Really Really Hot, Villainous Vultures, Team Jafar, Team Wonder

Alejandro moved from Spain when he was a young boy. He expects nothing but the best for himself, because he was raised to never expect any less.

His father was an important diplomat. From him, Alejandro learned about diplomacy at a young age, knowing when to say the right things to the right people at the right time all the time. While his mother spoiled him, she also raised him to be a gentleman.

The youngest of three brothers, Alejandro always had a competitive rivalry with them. He has always been very skilled at not just sports, but music, art, hypnosis (learned from his uncle), juggling and ventriloquism. All that, plus his picky eating habits, have given Alejandro a rock-hard body and the good looks to go with it.

On the outside, Alejandro is polite and cordial, especially with the ladies (they go nuts around him). The inside is a true competitor whose only cares about total victory. That's why when Chris [=McLean=] was auditioning for Total Drama Dirtbags, Alejandro jumped on board.

He finds out later that Chris used him to test the contestants from Total Drama Island, but was offered a spot on Total Drama World Tour as a way to make it up to him.
----
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: His big brother José, who had beaten him in practically everything since they were kids. However, Alejandro finally manages to gain the upper hand on him during the ''All-Stars'' boxing challenge.
* AWolfInSheepsClothing: It takes a while for the other contestants to catch onto his manipulative ways.
* TheBeastMaster: He's very good at controlling wild animals, even Ezekiel in his feral state, at least until 'Zeek and Ye Shall Find'.
%%zce* BeardOfEvil:
%%* BeautyIsBad
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Heather.
* BerserkButton:
** Doesn't like being called nicknames (especially 'Al').
** Hates it when people bring up his brother José.
** Calling any aspect of Heather unattractive is a surefire way to get a NoHoldsBarredBeatDown from him, as José finds out in "Suckers Punched".
* BilingualBonus: His last name means "dead donkey." Yeah.
* CardCarryingVillain: His title is "The Arch Villain".
* TheCharmer: He's so likable the other contestants--especially the girls--need to repeatedly remind themselves that he's evil.
* CheatersNeverProsper:
** He gets disqualified from the eating contest in "Chinese Fake-Out" after Chris finds out he was secretly giving his food to Courtney.
** Averted in "Jamaica Me Sweat", where he manages to [[KarmaHoudini get away with eliminating DJ]] by [[KickTheDog breaking one of the boards on the roller coaster]]. His team even wins the challenge.
* TheChessmaster: He has been the almighty puppetmaster since he first joined the cast, and has been pulling at everyone's strings all the way to the end. Which is very symbolically well put in his VillainSong ''This Is How We Will End It''.
* ChickMagnet: To the point where he was able to manipulate virtually '''every''' female character in the season.
* CryingWolf: Due to his history as a ManipulativeBastard, no one believes him when he tries to warn the other contestants about Mal in ''All-Stars''.
* DashingHispanic: Effectively replacing former eye-candy Justin. Every girl wants him, even if it means cheating on their own relationships. In fact it is so effective that it still exerts influence on girls even when he has revealed his true nature and betrayed them, and girls have to constantly remind themselves that he's evil.
* EliminationHoudini: Invoked. He has evaded otherwise certain elimination twice, once in World Tour he was saved by [[spoiler: Sierra blowing up the plane]] and another in ''All-Stars'' where [[spoiler: he steals an Invincibility Statue from Heather.]]
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: In spite of everything that's happened between them ([[spoiler:including him eliminating Heather as revenge for the humiliation he suffered during the finale of ''World Tour'']]), it's clear that Alejandro loves Heather to the point that calling ''any'' aspect of her unattractive is a major BerserkButton of his.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Despite being a villain, Alejandro dislikes the idea of senseless violence and occasionally shows genuine concern over wounded or otherwise incapacitated contestants. In accordance with this, he's expressed horror and disgust at the cruelty of some of his fellow antagonists.
--> '''Alejandro:''' ''(to Chris)'' You are pure evil!
--> '''Alejandro:''' Mal does not belong in juvie...he belongs in ''jail!''
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: To the point that Tyler (who is very much in love with his girlfriend Lindsay) enters a panicked bout of HaveIMentionedIAmHeterosexualToday if Alejandro so much as touches him.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: His feelings for Heather became rather obvious later on.
* EvilSoundsDeep: His voice is noticeably higher in ''All-Stars'' paralleling how significantly less evil he is this season, although this may not have been intentional, as it was due to his VA being replaced.
* EvilerThanThou:
** In his debut he declares that he's so evil that even Heather seems like a saint when compared to him. He's correct for the most part, but his underestimation of Heather's ruthlessness would eventually lead to [[spoiler:his defeat in the ''World Tour'' finale]].
** He ultimately realizes that Mal is even more evil than himself in ''All-Stars'', which leads him to become an AntiHero for one episode as he attempts to warn the others of the greater evil.
* EvilVersusEvil:
** In the ''World Tour'' finale, he clashes with [[spoiler: his arch-enemy/turned-lover Heather, although at this stage due to Heather's semi HeelFaceTurn it's more like:]]
---> '''Harold:''' Evil VS Wicked!
** In ''All-Stars'', he ends up clashing with [[spoiler: Mal, with Alejandro trying to reveal Mal's existence to other competitors]], but he has little success [[CryingWolf because of his reputation as "the most manipulative player in Total Drama history".]]
* EyepatchOfPower: He gets one of these in the episode where they go to the Amazon.
* FauxAffablyEvil: He's very nice and charming... until he's alone in the confessional and shows his true colors.
* FreudianExcuse: His father taught him how to be manipulative, his mother taught him how to win over girls, and his older brother's mocking him gave him his obsessive, competitive nature.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: (That is until they out live their usefulness and he betrays them). But he does seem to have a way with animals.
* GracefulLoser: Subverted; while he is still annoyed that he gets voted off in ''All-Stars'', he still wishes to warn the others about Mal's presence.
* HeelFaceDoorSlam: Although he didn't technically turn good in ''All-Stars'' Alejandro's focus shifted from winning the game to simply outlasting Heather. Once this goal is achieved, he drops his villain-status in favor of trying to convince everyone that there's a greater threat looming, Mal. Unfortunately, [[CryingWolf his reputation as a liar precedes him, so everyone assumes he's just making stuff up]].
* HumiliationConga: Okay let's go down the list, [[spoiler:he's about to win by tossing the sacrifice into the volcano, he sees Heather cry out in frustration, Alejandro gets Heather to admit she loves him, he admits the same, we have swelling music, real CMOHW, then *BAM!* a kiwi shot by Heather, who then pushes Alejandro down the volcano on a block of ice. When he reaches the bottom he is trampled by everyone running away from the eruption, he is caught in the lava flow, and after the end credits he's put in the Robot from Celebrity Manhunt Special to become "Darth Alejandro"]]. Damn...
* ICantFeelMyLegs: Being in that robot for a season kind of made his legs numb.
* IMeantToDoThat: Whenever Alejandro screws up, or loses, he'll give a long winded explanation how it was [[JustAsPlanned all according to plan.]]
* KickTheDog: Seriously, tricking DJ into believing his curse was lifted to have him regain his confidence, only to [[YankTheDogsChain knock him back down, and rigging the course so he'd lose because he had outlived his usefulness?]] Harsh, man.
* KnightOfCerebus: While [[AlphaBitch Heather]], [[ScrewTheRulesImBeautiful Justin]] and [[ItsAllAboutMe Courtney]] are ''far'' from saints, Alejandro can be considered the first truly evil contestant. He's also been shown to be much more competent than them. With him being the first antagonist to eliminate over half the cast, and make it to the final two. Even in ''All-Stars'', he still shows that he will do ''[[MoralEventHorizon anything]]'' to win.
* LackOfEmpathy: He shows zero remorse for the horrible things he does until "Awwwwww, Drumheller".
--> '''Chris:''' Alejandro found a tremor in his tiny black heart.
* LadykillerInLove: Despite all his manipulations with the female contestants, it later became obvious that Alejandro was genuinely falling in love with Heather.
* LaserGuidedKarma: After manipulating the girls for most of the season, he ultimately loses because he allows HIS feelings to be manipulated.
%%* LatinLover
* {{Leitmotif}}: A latin theme tune.
* LoveMakesYouDumb: His tactic for eliminating several of the females. And then [[spoiler:he himself fell victim to this]] in "Hawaiian Punch".
* ManipulativeBastard: The only eliminations that Alejandro ''didn't'' have a hand in during ''World Tour'' were [[spoiler:Ezekiel, Lindsay, Izzy, Sierra, and Heather's. He also manipulated Courtney and tried to get rid of Gwen, despite not being the direct cause of their eliminations, and makes up for his failure to eliminate Heather by making it his only goal]] in ''All-Stars''.
* MoralEventHorizon: In-universe example, none of the other players (except Courtney) liked him anymore after he threw Cody to the sharks.
* MrFanservice: Has anyone counted how many times he's ripped off his shirt? See ShirtlessScene below.
* MuppetCameo: During "This is How We Will End It", he controls a Muppet version of himself.
* NominalHero: In "The Obsta-kill Course", he tries to take down Mal, but only to further his own agenda.
* OverlyLongTongue: In "Hawaiian Punch", when he decides to kiss his pineapple-dummy. No wonder Heather looked so freaked out [[spoiler:when he kissed her.]]
* PecFlex: In the confessional in "Chinese Fake-Out."
* PickyEater: Shown as a weakness in "Chinese Fake-Out." He tries to use Courtney to get around it until he gets caught.
* PragmaticVillainy: Alejandro repeatedly acts kindly towards and protects his teammates--not because he cares, but because he needs them alive... for now.
* PunnyName: Possibly. As pointed out on [[{{WMG/TotalDrama}} the WMG page]], "Burromuerto" combined with the nickname "Al" might be a reference to a Spanish saying about not having glory when you die.
* PyrrhicVictory: In [[spoiler:the canon ending]] of ''World Tour''.
* RedOniBlueOni: Red to his brother Jose's blue, as reflected by their shirt colors.
* RomanticFalseLead: To Geoff/Bridgette, Tyler/Lindsay, and Harold/Leshawna.
* {{Schemer}}
* ShirtlessScene: He lends his shirt to Bridgette in "Anything Yukon Do, I Can Do Better", and rips it off for no apparent reason at the start of the "Sweden Sour" challenge, much to Heather and Courtney's joy, and Duncan's confusion, though Sierra remains unaffected due to being [[SingleTargetSexuality Cody-sexual]].
* SickeninglySweethearts: With Heather when they finally get together in the ''All-Stars'' finale.
* SillyWalk: He uses his hands for movement in ''All-Stars'', [[spoiler:that is until he gets voted off, in which point he drops the act, stands up, and walks to Heather, ''and'' he uses the immunity idol he stole from her, eliminating Heather in his place]].
* SmugSnake: And how!
* SpannerInTheWorks: He is this to Mal when he [[spoiler:creates a DVD of him committing evil acts and hides it in the hotel for someone to find (which Zoey eventually does).]]
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Aside from the usual suspects, he is one the most focused-on contestants in ''World Tour''. A lot of this can be blamed on the fact that he's Heather's long awaited canonical love interest.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Of Justin, except unlike the BrainlessBeauty, Alejandro is actually smart.
* TemptingFate: "I demand to get what I deserve!"
* TokenEvilTeammate: On Team Chris Is Really Really Really Really Hot.
* VillainousBreakdown: He really doesn't like being called Al. It all comes to a head in the season three finale, where it's revealed his deep hatred for being called Al is related to the fact that his older brother bullies him. Of course, after finding this out, Cody uses it to torment him.
* VillainSong: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJM9eRqWiS8 "This Is How We Will End It."]]
* WeaksauceWeakness: His weak stomach when eating foods that are disgusting or unhealthy.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: With Heather. In the ''All-Stars'' season finale, they finally do, though they still retain their competitive natures.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: In ''All-Stars'', after being released from the robotic body, [[ICantFeelMyLegs Alejandro's legs don't work properly at first]]. They eventually heal and regain their strength but he still pretends to be injured to make Heather feel guilty and to keep the other Villainous Vultures from seeing him as a threat.

Blaineley (real name: [[spoiler:Mildred]] Stacey Andrews O'Halloran) is a Gemmie Award nominated television personality and the current roving reporter for the Total Drama World Tour Aftermath show.

Formerly a co-host of the entertainment news show, Celebrity Manhunt, Blaineley feels her current position is beneath her, considers Aftermath hosts Geoff and Bridgette amateurs, and views the rest of past and present Total Drama competitors (except Alejandro and, possibly, Justin) to be losers. Despite this, she seeks to make the most of her situation by doing what she's best at: providing the "drama" in Total Drama. As long as there's a way to create conflict at the expense of others, she'll do so. [[HoistByHisOwnPetard It is this mentality that eventually led to]] [[HumiliationConga her downfall.]]
----
%%* AttentionWhore
%%* AssholeVictim
* BadBoss: In "Aftermath Aftermayhem", we see some of her entourage. They are ''manacled'' to each other.
* BalloonBelly: She is revealed to secretly have one of these in "Aftermath Aftermayham".
* BerserkButton: You better know who Blaineley Stacey Andrews O'Halloran is, she's fa-fa-famous, famous!
* BigEater: She is seen eating a wedding cake, ''bare handed'', in a confessional.
%%* BitchInSheepsClothing
%%* ButtMonkey
* CheatersNeverProsper: In "Chinese Fake Out".
* ChewToy: Geoff even [[LampshadeHanging uses that exact word]] to describe her, and for good reason.
* DistaffCounterpart: Basically the female version of Chris (and, with her grosser tendencies, Owen).
* DoNotCallMePaul: She dislikes being called [[spoiler:Mildred]].
* DramaQueen: She tries to act like one, but it comes off more as LargeHam.
* EmbarrassingFirstName: [[spoiler:Mildred]].
%%* {{Gasshole}}
* HartmanHips: Sings about her "[[PerfectlyCromulentWord Blainelicious]]" frame in her song ''Blainerific'', though [[BalloonBelly her real frame]] is anything but.
* HumiliationConga: After her elimination, she was pushed out of the plane before he could secure her parachute. She fell into a house roof first and was covered head to toe in bandages and wheeled around on a dolly. When she's on the next Aftermath show, she's laughed at by the peanut gallery because of her fall. Being the only Heather supporter (against her will at that), she was almost forced to do a challenge while in a full body-cast until Owen decided to take pity on her and aid her. Owen injures her even more, drops her out of the dolly a couple times, uses her as a surfboard and then accidentally drops her in the ocean. She's saved by Bruno the bear before she drowns, but is used as a literal [[TheChewToy chew toy]] once he reaches the shore.
%%* IAmSong: ''Blainerific''.
%%* ItAmusedMe
%%* ItsAllAboutMe
%%* {{Jerkass}}
%%* LargeHam
* LaughablyEvil: She announces an alliance proposal over the plane's loudspeaker and then [[RattlingOffLegal gives a rapid fire disclaimer after it]], and has the guts to use Chris' personal hot tub.
* MyNaymeIs: "Blaine" is usually a surname but can be used as a given name. 'Blaine'''ley'''' on the other hand is clearly supposed to sound and look ridiculous. And then we find out it isn't her real name.
* OverlyLongName: Blaineley Stacey Andrews O'Halloran is her full name. Except it's actually [[spoiler:Mildred]].
* SmallNameBigEgo: Rivaled only by Chris as the biggest ego on the show. She sings [[IAmSong a song about how awesome and famous (in her opinion) she is]] when she made her debut in the contest proper.
%%* SmugSnake
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Defied; her name and Josh's both appear behind them during the ''Celebrity Manhunt'' opening [[ShowWithinAShow in the ''Action'' special]]. It didn't stop a ton of fans from getting confused about the spelling, though.
* TokenAdult: Joined the ''World Tour'' competition for a short time. Whereas the other contestants are teenagers, Blaineley is explicitly an adult.
* TookALevelInJerkass: All her later appearances compared to the special where she debuts.
* VictoriasSecretCompartment: Keeps hankies in her bra, as seen in "Niagara Brawls".
* TheVillainSucksSong: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTsjEJASCS4 Her Real Name Isn't Blaineley]]" from "Aftermath Aftermayhem."
* WeHardlyKnewYe: She became a contestant in ''World Tour'', only to be eliminated, along with Courtney, in the next episode.

-->''Voiced by:'' Unknown voice actress ("Not So Happy Campers"), Creator/EmilieClaireBarlow ([[TheOtherDarrin all other episodes]])

-->''Teams:'' Killer Bass, Killer Grips, Team Amazon, Heroic Hamsters, [[spoiler: Villainous Vultures]], Team Jafar

Courtney is very excited to be a part of Total Drama Island. She thinks it's the perfect stepping-stone on her part to greatness. She's huge fan of competition. She's already a published author, having written the award-winning self-help series, ''Total Triumph for Teens''.

Courtney has a respect for anyone in authority; parents, teachers, the local Crossing Guard. In turn, they all think she's a very sweet girl. She puts on a good face, after all.

Courtney also prides herself on politeness and courtesy, because you never know who you'll meet on the way up the ladder of success, and Courtney plans to reach the top! While she feels strongly that we need rules in society for it to run smoothly, she also believes that sometimes you have to break the rules in order to get things done (or win).

This theory is most evident in Courtney's bedroom which is covered in trophies, ribbons and plaques. She's never lost anything in her life. Her motto is: "If you can't come in first, don't come at all." This is why she auditioned for Total Drama Island. Courtney feels that the island is a like a smaller version of the real world. If she can win there, then it proves she can in life, which she already has, so she'll definitely win there - but still, she'd like the $100,000 to prove it.

When asked if she looks forward to meeting new friends as part of the experience, Courtney says that she's already got enough friends. (The producers were unable to confirm the existence of her friends at the time of this publication.)
----
* ActionGirl: From ''Action'' on.
* AdaptationalVillainy: She loses most of her redeemable traits from the show, making her much less sympathetic.
* AesopAmnesia: About how bad an idea it was to try and change Duncan to make him "perfect".
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Duncan until he left her for Gwen. [[spoiler:Later on in ''All-Stars'' she gets close to Scott, the former antagonist of ''Revenge of the Island''.]]
* AlphaBitch: On the Killer Bass, Killer Grips, and Heroic Hamsters. She became the show's overall Alpha Bitch in ''Action'' after Heather's elimination. On Team Amazon, however, she clashes with Heather for the position.
* AntiHero: In ''Island'' and in the first half of ''World Tour''.
* AntiVillain: Type 2 in the second half of ''World Tour''.
* AttentionWhore: Any time she mentions that she was a CIT[[note]]Counselor In Training[[/note]], it's ''practically'' a cry for attention.
* AxCrazy: Reverts to this mode when one of her many, many, ''[[HairTriggerTemper many]]'' [[BerserkButton Berserk Buttons]] is pressed. In ''World Tour'', Heather says that Izzy has been replaced by Courtney.
* TheBaroness: During the second half of ''Action''.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Duncan in ''Island''. [[spoiler:Develops some with Scott in ''All-Stars''.]]
* BigBad: During the second half of ''Action''.
%%* BrainyBrunette
* BreakTheHaughty: Repeatedly, usually having something to do with Duncan.
* ButtMonkey: Rivals Heather.
* CatchPhrase: "I used to be a CIT!" or some variation thereof.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In the first season, Courtney was a bit of a ControlFreak who just needed to lighten up. This went out the window during the second season, where she TookALevelInJerkass.
* ClingyJealousGirl: First to Duncan, then to Alejandro. Averted in ''All-Stars''.
* CompanionCube: Her PDA in ''Action''.
* TheComplainerIsAlwaysWrong: When she came back, she was frustrated and harsh with her teammates because she really wanted to put an effort in winning while her team normally doesn't try. Resulting with her teammates trying to vote her off for being too bossy.
* [[TheFriendNobodyLikes The Contestant Nobody Likes]]: Alienates the majority of the other contestants due to her bossiness, massive superiority complex and unhealthy use of physical violence.
* ControlFreak: So much that she drew up a 32-page contract for Duncan to follow in order to mold him into ''her'' idea of the perfect boyfriend. You can imagine how well that went over.
* CuteButCacophonic: As the show progressed, her voice became more shrill and childish sounding.
* {{Determinator}}: Never admits defeat, no matter what the cost...or the consequences.
* DirtyCoward: Used Sam as a human shield against the Villainous Vultures' leech-shots in "Saving Private Leechball".
* DoubleStandardAbuseFemaleOnMale: Usually does this to Duncan, especially in ''Action''. She has [[GroinAttack kicked him in the crotch]] numerous times because he annoyed and provokes her.
* DramaQueen: She behaves this way after the second half of ''Action'', especially when she breaks up with Duncan for the last time in "The EX-Files".
* EasilyForgiven: Duncan accepts her behavior in ''Action''. He averts this in ''World Tour''.
* EnemyMine: Courtney and Gwen's mutual dislike for Heather makes them bond in the first half of ''World Tour''.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: When she was at her worst in ''Action'' there was a challenge where she had to make a shark act like her. During the challenge she implied she turned her shark into sushi, but when Chef questioned this she said she would never do anything that cruel. Instead she made him cough up his lunch
* FatalFlaw: The reason Courtney [[spoiler:has never made it to the final two despite being such an effective competitor]] is because winning is so important to her that she views other contestants as tools or pawns to further her own goals, rather than people. Unfortunately for her, she can't stop her "pawns" from using the show's most crucial weapon against her: the voting booth. Her own desire to win ultimately sealed her fate in ''All-Stars''.
* FightingYourFriend: Courtney is rigged to box with Gwen in ''All-Stars'' just as their friendship seems to be repaired. This actually proves cathartic for both of them as their punches let out all the anger they've had for each other and ultimately strengthens their friendship.
* ForgotAboutHisPowers: In ''All-Stars'' "Sundae Muddy Sundae", she refuses to eat her own sundae (which had burnt chocolate and bird vomit) because it was too "gross." But in Season 3's "Chinese Fake-Out" Courtney reveals she has a cast iron stomach, and was eating far worse meals for Alejandro.
* {{Flanderization}}: Her competitive nature is greatly exaggerated in ''Action''.
%%* GoGetterGirl
* GracefulLadiesLikePurple: She wears a purple princess dress in "The Princess Pride".
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Eventually she becomes this with Gwen in ''All-Stars''. [[spoiler: And then came "Sundae Muddy Sundae".]]
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Face in ''Island'', Heel in ''Action'', went back to face for the first half of ''World Tour'', then switched to Heel in second half, stayed Heel for part of ''All-Stars'', went back to Face after reconciling with Gwen, and finishes off as Heel again.
* {{Hypocrite}}:
** She spends most of "Phobia Factor" yelling at her teammates for not conquering their fears, but when her own turn comes around she's too scared to even ''attempt'' facing it.
** In ''World Tour'' she flirts with Tyler (Lindsay's boyfriend) to make Duncan jealous right after criticizing Gwen for being a boyfriend-stealer.
** After giving Gwen a hard time for betraying her friendship, she intends to betray her in ''All-Stars''. It doesn't end well.
* HumiliationConga:
** Toward the end of her run on ''Action'' and even into the finale, though she gets [[ThrowTheDogABone some consolation]] through sharing the winnings with Duncan in the end. In the alternate ending, her humiliation is more thorough. Then the third season REALLY did it to her.
** Happens yet again in "All-Stars". Mal reveals her list, causing her to lose her best friend and her boyfriend. She then loses her only opportunity to win the episode's challenge when a bird pukes on her sundae, and to top it all off gets flushed down a giant toilet while having to eat said sundae with tears in her eyes.
* IfICantHaveYou: Believe it or not, this is actually averted. Rather than trying to force Duncan to stay with her after he makes out with Gwen, she completely denounces both him and Gwen and from then on out is simply out to get them both.
%%* ImpossibleHourglassFigure
* InsaneTrollLogic: Sometimes, when her strategies are failing. She calls Lindsay selfish for voting herself off since it left Courtney with only one other girl to try and ally with... but Lindsay wouldn't have been eliminated if ''Courtney'' hadn't voted for her too. Also pops up in ''World Tour'' when she argues about leading Team Amazon:
-->'''Courtney:''' I happen to like winning and being in first class, which happens to make me an ideal leader.
* InsufferableGenius: Constantly boasts about her various skills and CIT experience.

* KnightTemplar: In her quest to win, Courtney lets nothing and no one stand in her way.
%%* TheLancer: On Team Amazon.
* LargeHam: When Courtney is angry, she makes sure everyone knows it.
* LaserGuidedKarma:
** She eliminates Sadie for accidentally pelting her with crabapples, then gets eliminated herself when Harold rigs the ballot box in a misguided attempt to get revenge on Duncan.
** Happens in ''Action'' too. After spending the whole episode bossing Duncan around and making him memorize a 32-page essay. Karma bits her in the butt when a shark steals her PDA, making her spend the rest of the episode trying to get it back. And when she finally does the challenge is over and in the end, ends up getting betrayed and voted off by Duncan.
* LoveMartyr: To Alejandro. Even after he admitted he was just using her, she still supports him.
* LudicrousPrecision: She apparently outlined ''three hundred and sixteen'' minor transgressions in the "how to be a perfect boyfriend" letter she drew up for Duncan to follow.
* MadnessMantra: "Gothie's going down, Gothie's going down, Gothie is going down..."
* MsFanservice: She gets ''a lot'' of MaleGaze.
* NeverMyFault: She'd rather eat her own tongue than admit she messed something up.
* ObsessedAreTheListMakers: "Okay. Eliminating Heather is now number 1, 2, 3, and 5 of my top 5 goals. Ripping out Duncan's eyebrow ring is number 4."
* OppositesAttract:
** With Duncan. Deconstructed in that their personality clashes and constant fighting make their relationship so unstable that it eventually breaks apart.

* SamaritanRelationshipStarter: She finds out that Duncan is a JerkWithAHeartOfGold when she sees him tricking DJ with a replacement Bunny so DJ wouldn't be sad.
* SelfFulfillingProphecy: Around the halfway mark of ''Action'' was when she started accusing Gwen of stealing Duncan away from her. Ultimately, she was partially responsible for making this come true herself by abusing Duncan so much that he cheated on her with Gwen anyway.

* SpotlightStealingSquad: She becomes one in ''Action'' after she re-enters the competition under questionable means. She becomes more notorious as a Spotlight Stealer when she and Gwen get involved in a LoveTriangle with Duncan.
* StepfordSmiler: Tries to become one after Duncan cheats on her in season three. It doesn't work.
--> '''Courtney:''' ''(confessional)'' Well, at least I still have my...pride. ''(tries to smile at the camera, but then breaks down in tears)''

* TooDumbToLive[=/=]IdiotBall: [[spoiler: Seriously Courtney? Mapping out your ENTIRE game plan--which involves betraying both your best friend and your boyfriend--''and'' leaving it for Mal to find.]]
* TookALevelInJerkass: In ''Action''.
* TookALevelInKindness: She's actually quite nice during the first half of ''World Tour'' (at the very least, she was more tolerant of failure). It all gets ruined when she finds out Duncan cheated on her.
* TokenEvilTeammate: In ''All-Stars'', she's this to the Heroic Hamsters. Fitting, considering Gwen can (possibly) pass off as a hero but is with the Villainous Vultures instead. [[spoiler:She is forced to swap teams with Duncan, making her a villain]].
* ToxicFriendInfluence: It's heavily implied that Duncan is the one who brings out her antagonistic nature. Back in the earlier episodes before she the development of her relationship with Duncan started she was quite civil towards the campers. Even greeting and giving Owen a handshake. She reverts back to this characteristic after Duncan leaves in the first half of World Tour, which reinforces this notion.
* TraumaticHaircut: Subverted. Heather decides to take some of her hair (to make a wig for herself) in ''Action'' but only cuts off a very small chunk without her noticing.
* {{Tsundere}}: Type B in ''Island'', Type A in ''Action''.
* UptightLovesWild: For Duncan... at first.
* WellExcuseMePrincess: To Duncan.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Fails to get over her fear costing her the much needed triple score and more importantly the challenge. Comes up again in ''Food Fright.''
* WomanScorned: And ''how!''
* YouWouldntLikeMeWhenImAngry: When angry enough, Courtney's [[SuperStrength strength gets enhanced]] enough to rival Eva and (mutated) Dakota's. In ''Island'', as part of the first challenge, she had problems moving a crate that Eva carried effortlessly, but later in the same season, when finding out that Harold cheated to get her expelled, she rips off a light post and bends it around Harold's body to make him a human pretzel. In ''Action'', this strength-enhanced rage becomes more evident as she fights 3 sharks bare-handed (apparently killing two of them) and, before that, lifts a bed (with Lindsay on top) over her head.

Duncan comes from a long line of cops. His dad is a cop. His mom is a cop. His uncle, aunt, grandma and cousins are cops. Like them, Duncan spends lots of time in police stations. The trouble is, Duncan feels more comfortable on the "opposite side of the law", so his police station visits usually include a jail cell and a parole officer.

Duncan's been getting into trouble since he could get his hands on anything that wasn't his. He bounced from school to school, racking up suspensions and expulsions -- and this was all pre-kindergarten! Yeah, Duncan is one tough customer.

He also has street smarts and isn't afraid to use them. While the principals don't share his philosophy that breaking into the school's office in the middle of the night to doctor your report card is an innovative way to improve your grade-point-average, Duncan feels it illustrated entrepreneurial skills.

Despite his cocky nature, social workers who have counselled Duncan will tell you that under all that bravado lies a misguided youth with a big, gooey heart.

When Duncan isn't incarcerated or at a Parole Officer's appointment he looks for ways to curb his boredom - like signing up for Total Drama Island. Duncan figured it couldn't be much worse than 'the yard' at The Detention Center, and who knows, it could be fun to mess with some heads. It's not like he's doing anything else this summer.

* AntiHero: He enjoys being bad just for the sake of it, but is never an outright villain, unless he's an....
%%* AntiVillain: Type I.
* AttentionWhore: In ''All-Stars''. He becomes frustrated when Courtney refuses to acknowledge his existence and he got a little jealous when the rest of the Villainous Vultures kept trying to form an alliance with Gwen instead of him.

%%* Badass Beard: His soul patch.

* BadassDecay: In-universe during ''All-Stars''. He's considerably gotten nicer (or, at least, calmer) since the beginning of the series; so Chris and the cast have been mocking him, labeling him a softy. Every attempt he makes to be bad seems to fall flat, as well; he always ends up doing good instead.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Courtney in ''Island''.
%%* BigOlUnibrow
* BirdsOfAFeather: With Gwen.
* BrutalHonesty: Don't expect him to sugarcoat anything.

* CardCarryingVillain: Constantly brags about how bad he is, his stereotype is even call "The Delinquent".
* CheatersNeverProsper: In the fire-making challenge of "One Million Bucks, B.C." he cheats his way to victory by using a lighter instead of sticks and stones; moments later he gets busted by Chris and the reward is given to the other team instead.
* TheChewToy: Has been injured countless times where most, if not all of the injuries, are PlayedForLaughs.
* CryingWolf: His ex-girlfriends do not believe him when he warns them about Mal in ''All-Stars''.
* DarkIsEvil / DarkIsNotEvil: It depends on his mood.

* DragonWithAnAgenda: He works with Alejandro starting from ''Picnic at Hanging Dork'', but doesn't trust him.
* EnfanteTerrible: His bio mentions him racking up suspensions and expulsions...pre-kindergarten.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Calls out Heather when she abandons Lindsay. He also didn't like it when Alejandro knocked Cody into the shark-infested water in the last episode of ''World Tour''.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Downplayed. [[spoiler:He believes that his heroic status in ''All-Stars'' is the reason why Gwen dumped him.]]
* GoodHairEvilHair: His soul patch fits his NobleDemon role.
* {{Goth}}: Of the abrasive, sarcastic, and punkish type.
* GracefulLoser: He takes being OutGambitted by Alejandro and Heather surprisingly well.
* GroinAttack: Falls victim to it quite regularly, especially from Courtney.
* * GuileHero: Duncan is not above cheating to win, but being a [[ManipulativeBastard silent manipulator]] isn't his forte.
* HandsomeLech: Winking at the girls in "Brunch of Disgustingness", plus the pet names sweetheart, honey, darling, etc...
* HiddenDepths: Revealed to be an extremely talented actor in ''Action''.
* HumiliationConga: His epic pre-elimination beat-down by Ezekiel in ''World Tour'', courtesy of Alejandro and Heather.
* {{Hypocrite}}: In season one he calls out Trent when he appears to be cheating on Gwen with Heather and votes him off. Yet, in season three, he has no problem kissing Gwen behind Courtney's back and is remorseless when Courtney finds out.
* IconicItem: His knife and, to a lesser extent, his lighter and hook hand.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Mostly in ''Island'', but still shows shades of this afterwards, mainly to Gwen. His heart of gold is brought up in the ''All-Stars'' episode "No One Eggspects The Spanish Opposition", where he tries to assure a mother bird that he's only borrowing her egg and tears up after the bird starts crying. It also plays an important role in "Suckers Punched", where he refuses to fight the same bird because he doesn't want to injure something so innocent.
* KarmaHoudini: Seeing how getting injured is taken lightly in this show, overall, Duncan gets away with his dirty deeds. In fact he's arguably the single luckiest character in the series - not only is he successful romantically in both ''Island'' and ''World Tour'', he is the only one of two winners to ''hang onto'' his money. That is, until [[spoiler: Chris gets him arrested for blowing up his cottage in "You Regatta Be Kidding Me!"]]
* KnightOfCerebus: He's not technically a villain, but anyway note how the World Tour [[CerebusSyndrome gets less funny and more dramatic]] once he returns.
* LargeHam: At times. "It's a psycho with a CHAINSAW AND A HOOOOOKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
* LonersAreFreaks: He prefers for others to leave him alone, unless it serves his interests. Duncan is also one of the more violent characters.
* ManipulativeBastard: Not to the same level as Alejandro or Heather, but he has his moments.
* ManlyTears: He tears up when [[spoiler: the Heroic Hamsters welcome him to their team]] and when he's forced to take an egg away from its mother bird.
* MistakenForCheating: Courtney accuses him of having cheated on her with Gwen in ''Action'' when he didn't. In ''World Tour'' he cheats on her for real.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: In ''All-Stars'', he just can't stop being nice; taken especially far in "You Regatta Be Kidding Me" where every one of his attempts to appear villainous gets interpreted as a good deed. He even literally fixes Chef's rundown jeep while trying to drive it into the ocean.
* TheNicknamer
* NobleDemon: He's mean, violent, and crude, but he always keeps his word.

* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: He refuses to participate in singing and bails in the first episode of ''World Tour'' [[HesBack only to return in "I See London..."]], this time not letting his pride hold him back.
* SecondLove: He falls in love with Gwen after falling in love with Courtney, and likewise, she falls in love with him after falling in love with Trent.
* SecretTestOfCharacter: Accepting an apple from Zoey, which marks him as warming up to the other contestants.
* SixthRanger: On Team Chris Is Really Really Really Really Hot.

* SpotlightStealingSquad: He is one of ''the'' most focused-on contestants in the series. He only goes OutOfFocus during the first half of ''World Tour'', in all but one episode of ''Revenge of the Island'', and the second half of ''All-Stars''.
* SympatheticAdulterer: Considering the [[DoubleStandardAbuseFemaleOnMale way]] [[{{Tsundere}} Courtney]] treated him, it's no surprise he eventually got sick of it and left her for Gwen.
* TokenEvilTeammate: In ''Island''. [[spoiler: Subverted in ''All-Stars'' when he goes to the Heroic Hamsters and when Mal returns.]]
* TookALevelInKindness: He becomes much nicer over the course of ''All-Stars'', much to his horror.
* TookALevelInJerkass: In ''Action'' and ''World Tour'' he went from a JerkWithAHeartOfGold to a straight up {{Jerkass}}. He also made several deliberate attempts at this over the course of ''All-Stars'', because his [[TookALevelInKindness taking a level in kindness]] caused everyone to label him a softy. Unfortunately, almost all of those attempts ended up making him seem even more nice [[spoiler:except for his last attempt, where he blew up Chris's cottage...[[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor which got him arrested and sent to jail instead of juvie, along with being booted from the competition]].]]
* TopHeavyGuy: His legs are less than a ''third'' of a his total height. 401Heather has it all - looks, brains, talent - she could go on and on, but why talk about something that is so obvious!

Heather likes to keep busy with extracurricular activities. (Read: Be the center of attention and hog the spotlight.) She's School President (after several ballot boxes for her opponents mysteriously ended up in the boys' urinals). She's Head Cheerleader (but only attends rallies where the Year Book Photographer is present). She's Head of the Year Book Committee (to ensure that 'said photographer' includes only her best shots, and also to ban photos of anyone she hates.) She's President of the Debate Team, because she loves to argue but will only debate issues of personal interest (i.e. did you see Susie's new haircut? Can everyone say: '80's perm-gone-wrong'?)

The only place Heather is outranked is at home. She has an [[AnnoyingYoungerSibling evil younger brother]], Damien, who enjoys torturing Heather by booby-trapping her room and putting glue in her hair conditioner.

Heather would be mortified if the audience discovered her deep dark secret, but Total Drama Island has heard from reliable sources (her brother) that she used to be a fat, brace-faced style challenged junior high reject; something she overcompensates for now with a mean veneer and lots of makeup.

Heather hopes that her experience on Total Drama Island will open more doors for her so she can eventually attain her long-term goal of ruling Europe.
----
* ActionGirl: She has her moments.
* AlphaBitch: In ''Island''; however, she clashes with Courtney for the position during ''World Tour''. In ''All-Stars'', she clashes with Jo early on for leadership of the Villainous Vultures. Heather clashes with Courtney again in ''All-Stars'', when the latter is forced to switch teams.
* AnalogyBackfire:
-->'''Heather:''' A team without a leader is like a horse without a head! It just runs around blind!
-->'''Gwen:''' I'm pretty sure a horse without a head doesn't run anywhere!
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Her younger brother Damien.
* ArchEnemy: To Gwen and Leshawna since the start, Courtney in ''World Tour'', and Jo in ''All-Stars''.
** She stated she was this to Alejandro in a more "WorthyOpponent" kind of way in "Aww, Drumheller," as a way to get him [[ItMakesSenseInContext to help her out when she was wedged up in a hole]]. [[EveryoneCanSeeIt Yet it was obvious to everyone watching what their relationship really was]].

* BadBoss: Her treatment of Lindsay and Beth in ''Island'' was almost criminal.
* BalloonBelly:
** In "The Big Sleep", her stomach gets significantly pudgier after gorging herself in a buffet.
** There's a segment in "Celebrity Manhunt's Total Drama Action Reunion Special" where the reporters reveal Heather's ''astounding'' three-ounce weight gain, complete with a close up of a tiny bulge in her midsection.
%%* TheBaroness: During the first season at least.
* BeautyIsBad: Most of the boys consider her attractive, but keep their distance because they know what her personality is like.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Alejandro.
* BigBad: Of the first season, and arguably the most iconic one. When she made her cameo in the ''Total Drama: Revenge of the Island'' episode "Up, Up and Away in My Pitiful Balloon," the new generation is stunned and somewhat scared to see her, with Zoey even asking her if she really is ''The'' Heather. While there are many villains in the series that have surpassed her in evilness and ruthlessness (Chris, Alejandro, Mal), Heather is still the most recognizable one of the entire series.
* BitchAlert: Her introduction in the first episode beautifully [[http://images.wikia.com/totaldramaisland/images/1/13/HeatherArrives.png establishes]] this.
* BreakTheHaughty: Basically the entire first season is this for Heather and she becomes a lot less abrasive as a result.

* CatchPhrase: "Ugh!"
* CharacterDevelopment: While she's still mean and manipulative, compare how evil she was in ''Island'' to how she is in ''World Tour'' and there's quite a difference.
* TheChessmaster: Twist, manipulate, deceive, and mislead the competition is how she operates.
* TheChewToy: Probably the most consistent across three seasons.
* ClingyJealousGirl: She does not want Courtney to have Alejandro.
* CrocodileTears:
** In ''Island'', she uses this to break up Trent and Gwen, see WoundedGazelleGambit below.
** In ''World Tour'', she uses this to [[spoiler:get Alejandro to let his guard down]] during the final challenge.

--> '''Harold''': I'll have you know this is a selfless act! My lady fans couldn't handle the loss of this perfect behind!
--> '''Heather''': And by "lady fans", he means his mother.
* DeathGlare: Her default expression since she is easily disgusted or aggravated by almost everyone or everything on the show.
* DefeatByModesty: Accidentally does it to herself when her halter top comes off. However the distraction provided by this actually [[SubvertedTrope makes her team win the challenge]] and directly causes Harold's elimination.
* DefrostingIceQueen: A realistic approach to the trope. She's actually become progressively nicer over the course of the series, while retaining her obsession with winning.
* {{Determinator}}: Became this in "Hawaiian Punch".
%%zce* DoesNotLikeSpam:
* EasilyForgiven: Averted, see ReformedButRejected below.
* EnemyMine:
** With Gwen against Owen and Duncan's team in ''Island'', even high-fiving when they win.
** With Leshawna right before getting voted off in ''Action''. Before that, Leshawna convinced Gwen to have Heather on their team both to keep an eye on her, and knowing Heather's smarts would make her a good ally.
** With Gwen, again, in the 'Celebrity Manhunt' special, cooperating to delay Alejandro's car, and also against Courtney in the second half of ''World Tour'', partly because Courtney kept throwing challenges and partly out of jealousy because of Alejandro flirting with her.
** And yet, again, with Gwen in 'All Stars'; Heather actively looks for an alliance with her, since she's the only non-villainous Vulture and therefore the one she can really trust if they make any type of deal.
* EvenBadWomenLoveTheirMamas: In 'Action', in the Medical Drama-based challenge, it's shown that Heather considers her mother as her best friend; in fact, when she thinks she's gonna die along with the other contestants, she writes her last will and testament, leaving everything to her mom.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Alejandro's plan to eliminate Duncan in "African Lying Safari" leaves her stunned.
--> '''Heather:''' ''(confessional)'' Even I'm not ''that'' ruthless!
** She's also shows genuine sympathy towards Courtney when Duncan dumps her for Gwen, and towards Sierra when she loses all her hair and gets injured by the plane's explosion.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: It became gradually obvious that she and Alejandro were falling for each other over the course of ''World Tour''. To the point that during Blaineley's rant after her elimination in "Chinese Fake-Out," she told them to "give it up and make out already."
* FanService: Her boobs were shown in "X-Treme Torture", and her butt was shown (uncensored no less) in "3:10 to Crazytown".
* FemmeFatalons: In the New York episode where she slices open the prize apple with her nails.
* FormerlyFat: According to her younger brother Damien and Harold's assumption for her cold personality.
* FreudianExcuse: Hinted at in the first special.
* HeroicResolve: In "Hawaiian Punch", [[spoiler:she's on the verge of defeat when trapped in a cage she can't escape from until Cody implies that she's "the Good Guy". At this realization, she bursts out and goes on to defeat Alejandro]].
* HiddenHeartOfGold: She keeps it ''very'' hidden.
* HoistByHerOwnPetard: She previously threatened Lindsay with a head shaving if she ever betrayed their alliance again. Incidentally, Heather betrayed Lindsay in "That's Off the Chain", and Lindsay used Heather's own threat against her as a dare in "I Triple Dog Dare You", leading to Heather's TraumaticHaircut and subsequent elimination.
* HumiliationConga: In "I Triple Dog Dare You!" Gwen and Owen decided to double-team Heather with one challenge after another. Surprisingly, Heather manages to take all of them...until the final dare where she had to get her hair shaven. She attempts to reject it, only for her hair to get shaven regardless. To add insult to injury, because she never officially accepted the challenge, she was eliminated anyway.
* ImNotHereToMakeFriends: She is hated by almost everyone because she either manipulated, insulted, had a hand in eliminating or left a bad impression on them. She even manages to alienate the second generation contestants in her cameo appearance in ''Revenge of the Island''.
* ImportantHaircut: Her hair getting shaved off marks the point where she is utterly defeated by Gwen and ceases to be a main antagonist.

** Several times in ''World Tour''. Examples include warning Leshawna that Alejandro was up to no good, consoling a heartbroken Courtney after it was revealed Duncan and Gwen had kissed, and giving Sierra a headdress and wheelchair because she sympathized with her being bald on national TV.
* PyrrhicVictory: In [[spoiler:the alternate ending]] of ''World Tour'', [[spoiler:she finally wins the competition and the million dollars only for her million to get stolen from her by a feral Ezekiel seconds later. She is last seen swimming away for her life from an erupting volcano with a giant boulder about to hit her just before the camera cuts away.]]
** In [[spoiler:the canon ending]] of ''World Tour'', [[spoiler:she accidentally throws Alejandro's effigy into the volcano instead of hers, making him the winner instead. She doesn't get hit by the flaming boulder at the end, however.]]
* ReformedButRejected: She's not nearly as evil in ''Action'' as she was in ''Island'' (which isn't the same as saying she's turned good) but no one other than Harold trusts her, even when she is genuinely trying to help her team - in "Riot on Set," Gwen (her team captain) outright says that an idea being suggested by Heather is reason enough not to do it.
** In ''World Tour,'' this only gets worse: She's even less evil at this point, but the rest of the cast now seems to hate her more than ''ever''. When she is in the final three, she has literally ''zero'' cast-mates rooting for her, while Alejandro, who has been more actively villainous in ''this'' season than Heather ever was, has ''five''.
%%* RichBitch
%%* {{Schemer}}
* ShipperOnDeck: Of Gwen/Duncan and Cody/Sierra, but only to ruffle feathers -- she doesn't actually give a damn about anyone's love life.
* SickeninglySweethearts: With Alejandro when they finally get together in the ''All-Stars'' finale.
%%* ShowerScene: Several during ''Island''.
%%* SmugSnake
%%* SocialDarwinist
* SpotlightStealingSquad: She is ''the'' most focused-on contestant in the series; only Chris and Chef have higher episode counts than her. She only goes OutOfFocus during the second half of ''Action'' and most of ''Revenge of the Island'', apart from "Up, Up, and Away in My Pitiful Balloon".
%%* StrongFamilyResemblance: With her mother.

%%* TomboyishPonytail: From the ''Action'' special onwards.
* TookALevelInKindness:
** Gradually over the course of the series. While not exactly "kind," Heather is far less evil and manipulative than she was in ''Island'', especially in the third season when compared to her rival/love interest Alejandro.
--->'''Alejandro''': ...compared to me, Heather's a saint!
** In "Moon Madness", she becomes happy and sweet while under the influence of the Blue Harvest Moon [[spoiler:until it's revealed in the confessional that she was faking it]].
* TraumaticHaircut: Played straight when her hair was shaved off, but averted with her attempts to take Courtney's.
%%* TheTrickster
%%* {{Tsundere}}: Towards Alejandro.
* VillainousBreakdown: When she gets eliminated in ''Island''.
* VillainProtagonist: Is arguably the most focused-on character in the series.
* VocalEvolution: As the series progresses, her voice gradually loses the snobbish tones it had in season one.
%%zce* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes:
* WillTheyOrWontThey: With Alejandro. In the ''All-Stars'' finale, they finally get together, though they still maintain their competitive natures.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: In "Search and Do Not Destroy", to break up Gwen and Trent, she tells Trent that Gwen was being mean to her and she shouldn't be trusted in an attempt to gain his sympathy. To seal the deal, Heather kisses Trent in front of Gwen to make it appear that he is cheating on her.
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: Her reaction to the robot breaking apart and revealing itself to have contained Alejandro in the first episode of ''Total Drama All-Stars.''
** Also her shared reaction with Alejandro, Sierra, and Cody when Chris demanded a musical number during a ''very'' inopportune time.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: How she betrays Lindsay towards the end of "That's Off the Chain".

Jo is the resident tough girl of the new cast.
----
* ActionGirl: That should really go without saying.
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: She assumed leadership of the Maggots after breaking Brick's thumb in front of everyone.
* BatmanGambit: She relies on these to get ahead.
** In "Ice Ice Baby", she exploits Anne Maria's short temper about her appearance to make her participate in the challenge by insulting her or taking away her hairspray.
** She often exploits Brick's military background and his sense of chivalry.
** When she switches teams, she often exploits Lightning's competitive spirit.
** [[spoiler: She ironically falls victim to one when Cameron rigs the fog machine he won with an explosive, knowing that Jo would scam it from him.]]
%%* BoyishShortHair
* BrawnHilda: She evidently looks so masculine that Lightning can't tell she's female. PlayedForLaughs; since it's highly obvious to the audience she's female. She does actually sound rather masculine, though.
* CosmeticCatastrophe: She gets a [[Film/TheDarkKnight Joker-esque]] [[http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120210063343/totaldramaisland/images/c/cc/Runaway_Model_%2865%29.png makeover]] no thanks to Mike (as Chester) in "Runaway Model".
* EntitledBastard: Her audition tape and [[spoiler: Lightning's ending]] show just how arrogant she is.
* {{Expy}}: Of Sue Sylvester from ''Series/{{Glee}}''
* EvilCounterpart: Of Brick, sort of.
* GenderBlenderName: Jo. Possibly one of the reasons Lightning is confused about her gender, although it doesn't take much with [[DumbJock Lightning]].
* InformedAttribute: Her supposed ugliness (when she works out in the nude and scares away all the animals) and the fact that [[BrawnHilda Lightning mistakes her for a boy]]. One of the few examples in which this is PlayedForLaughs, however.
%%* JerkJock
%%* {{Jerkass}}
* LaserGuidedKarma:
** In the episode where she's eliminated, she pretty much treats Cameron like complete garbage. Conveniently, guess who sends her right out, instead of Scott? She even admitted that he was a WorthyOpponent after that.
** In ''All-Stars'', she conspires to get rid of Lightning first since she considered him [[TheRival her biggest threat]] on her team. When her team loses the subsequent competition, she regrets getting Lightning eliminated and she herself gets eliminated next.
--->'''Lightning:''' ''(in a pre-recorded video message)'' [[IWarnedYou I told you you'd regret it!]] Ha! I win! Sha-woo!
* LeaveNoSurvivors: According to her title.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: The Masculine Girl to Brick's Feminine Boy. Both are depicted as tough; however, Brick has a more sensitive side, whereas Jo is more aggressive.
* MistakenForGay: When she said she never kissed a guy, Lightning, thinking Jo was a boy, replied:
-->'''Lightning:''' That's okay, man. Lightning don't judge.
* ModestyTowel: She wears one in a confessional.
%%* NeverMyFault
* TheNicknamer: She has called Brick "G. I. Joke" and "Brick-for-brains", Mike "Pointy", Zoey "Red" and "Apology Breathe", Cameron "String bean", Kotone "Japanese Priestess", Richard "Medic boy", and has several names for Anne Maria including "Poofhead", "Sprayhead", "Tan job" and "Helmethead".
** She goes even further in All-Stars and gives names for all of her team: Heather "Old Heather", Gwen "Gothball" and "Count Gwenula", Shane "Hero with a Dark Side", Robbie "Dr. Frankenstein Jr." and "The Nutty Professor", Duncan "Crudcan" and "Stuncan", Scott "Shark-bait and "Dirt Boy", Erin "Erin-Head" and "Monkey Ponytail", Alejandro "Ale-handwalker".
** She also gives nicknames to the contestants in Erin's Total Magical Adventure: Shana "Pinky", Sylvia "Berthajuice", Selene "Snow Queen Brat", Megumi "Nut-Meg", and has several names for J.Z: including "Radcliffe", "Ratty McDrake", "Captain Hook Jr.", "Ursula's Nephew", "Jaffy Jr." and "Professor Leatherstein".
* NightmareFetishist: Look at the way she strokes the cannon.
* NoGuyWantsAnAmazon: During the mine challenge, she confesses that she never kissed a guy.
* PleasePutSomeClothesOn: A little birdie vomits when it sees Jo's nude workout session in "A Mine Is a Terrible Thing to Waste".
* PragmaticVillainy: She runs a tight shift as the Maggots' leader, makes it perfectly clear she's tough, mean, and in it to win, and can be quite critical. However, she's not above praising her teammates when they win a challenge.
* TheRival: To Brick in ''Revenge'', Heather in ''All-Stars'', and Lightning in both seasons.
* SamusIsAGirl: Lightning thinks she's a boy due to her masculine appearance and attitude, her ActionGirl tactics, and her TomboyishName, so he acts appropriately when he finally finds out [[spoiler:when Jo is eliminated.]]
* SmugSnake: She was so confident that Cameron would do whatever she said, that she never expected to be OutGambitted by him.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Of Eva. Jo takes the general premise of Eva's character (brawn and a serious attitude) and builds a much more complex and hyper-competent competitor. Lampshaded by Anne María in "Logo Loco Motive".
* {{Tomboy}}: She dislikes anything even ''remotely'' girly. [[HiddenDepths Or so she says...]]
* TomboyishName: One reason for Lightning believing that she is a guy.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Her boyish appearance makes her look older than most teen girls.

From the moment Justin was born, he was a vision of loveliness. He was a test tube baby and his mother paid handsomely for that test tube. Justin has always been a looker.

As a child, old ladies lined up to pinch those magnificent cheeks. This led to him becoming a successful child model and he hasn't stopped working since. His grade 5 teacher had to send him to the principal's office on a daily basis just so the rest of the class could get some work done. His only crime was looking so darn good.

Justin's bone structure is currently being studied by the Italian branch of the Centre of Analysis of Breathtaking Feature. He's a straight-A student, but there is some doubt as to whether he has earned a single one of those grades.

Truly, Justin is more than a pretty face. He also has washboard abs. No, seriously, Justin is good guy and volunteers at a retirement home. The old ladies still try to pinch his cheeks. People just feel compelled to give Justin stuff for free so he doesn't have to work for a living like other mortals.

For this reason, Justin will be donating his winnings to this favorite charity, The Unattractive-Looking-People Wish Foundation. No one knows why Justin auditioned for Total Drama Island, and no one really cares... they are just soooo glad he did.

* BigBad: Of the first half of ''Action''. See DiscOneFinalBoss below for more.
* BishieSparkle: Even his photos have this.
* BrainlessBeauty: He's actually pretty savvy, but he ''believes'' this to be the case about himself (see above quote, made when he believed [[BeautyToBeast his looks to be ruined by a black eye]]). Apparently he thinks his ability to strategize only work when his beautiful looks are intact.
* CharacterFocus: He received significant focus as the main antagonist of ''Action'', at least until Courtney returned to the competition.
* DeathByIrony: Eliminated when the girl he's infatuated with manipulates his feelings for her to get ahead in the game, something he'd been doing to other girls since the season started.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: Set up as the main antagonist contestant in ''Action'', but when we learn he's only smart and strategic when it comes to his looks and that his sexiness was having less and less effect on the girls he just became a whiny pretty-boy. When Courtney came back, it was pretty clear he had been replaced.
* DistractedByTheSexy: Has this effect on all of the female characters and [[EvenTheGuysWantHim even some of the guys]] when he's trying hard enough.
* SixthRanger: On the Screaming Gophers.
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: He has this effect on Owen, and then on Chef in the Total Drama Drama Drama Island special.
* FlatCharacter: In ''Island.''
%%* HeadTurningBeauty: A very direct male version.
* HumiliationConga: He gets voted off by his crush, Courtney, to whom he had just surrendered immunity and who seriously injured him during the challenge in question, including damage to his precious face. He can't even get the girls he'd been trying to manipulate for the entire season to acknowledge that he's leaving; the best he gets are some sarcastic farewells from the other guys. He hurts himself again getting into the Lame-O-Sine.
* InformedAttractiveness: Given the show's art-style he's obviously not as good-looking as he is in-universe.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He is genuinely outraged at cheating, betrayal, or other unfairness directed at his own interests, but he doesn't quite seem to grasp that other characters don't appreciate it when ''he'' exploits ''them''.
* TheLancer: On the Killer Grips.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Plays every time his sexy overwhelms the opposite sex ([[MyFriendsAndZoidberg and]] Owen).

* OutOfFocus: In season one due to almost never speaking, in season two his role as a villain was turned into an AbortedArc and in season three, they introduced Alejandro, and even in episodes featuring the Drama Brothers he didn't do as much as the others.
* TheQuietOne: See SuddenlyVoiced below.

* TookALevelInJerkass: In Island, he seemed like an alright person who would help his team when they needed him. Come ''Action'', and he's been set up to be the villain (and even when that was done away with, he still was not a nice person).

** JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: In episode 12, when Zoey falls in a radioactive pit, he runs over... to snatch the map away from her, so he could win the challenge.
* JerkJock: He was more of a buffoon than a jerk early on, but he plays it straight towards the end of ''Revenge''.
%%* LargeHam
* LameComeback: His attempts to insult Cameron in the finale. Only the last one seems to work.
-->'''Lighting''': You wanted an intellectual challenge? When I finish with you, your whole life's gonna be an intellectual challenge!
* LockedIntoStrangeness: His hair seems to have been permanently bleached white after being electrocuted during his match with Cameron.
* ManlyTears: [[spoiler:After he loses to Cameron in the Canadian and the iTunes version of finale. Averted in the American ending where he wins.]]
* MrViceGuy: Lightning isn't exactly a bad guy, but his [[{{Pride}} overwhelming ego]] and competitive streak can cause him to be ruthless and foolhardy.
* {{Narcissist}}: About 75% of his dialogue is self-appraisal.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: He threatens to perform one of these when Cameron wins the "Eat, Puke, and Be Wary" challenge by riding on his back.
* {{Pun}}: "If [Brick] wakes me up one more time like that, he's gonna get struck by Lightning!"
%%* RealMenEatMeat
* TheRival: To Jo, especially after Brick is eliminated.
* RunningGag: Confusing Jo for a boy. [[spoiler:He finds out that Jo is a girl by the time she is eliminated.]]
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl
* ShoutOut: Lightning is wearing a jersey similar to the [[UsefulNotes/NationalFootballLeague San Diego Chargers]] or the [[UsefulNotes/CanadianFootballLeague Winnipeg Blue Bombers]].
** His online profile implies he's based of Smash Williams and Cuba Gooding Jnr.
%%* SmallNameBigEgo: ''Especially'' in ''All-Stars''!
%%* ThirdPersonPerson
* TookALevelInJerkass: For most of the season, he is pretty much just a DumbJock. However, when Cameron took immunity instead of him in episode 11, he's rather bitter (even though it was his own fault for showing off before then). While his personality doesn't really change, he's notably more antagonistic towards Cameron and Zoey, and effectively replaces Scott as the villain near the end of the season.
* VerbalTic[=/=]MadLibsCatchphrase: "SHA-(insert word, sound effect or Lightning's name here)!"
* WellDoneSonGuy: [[spoiler: The reason why he is so over-competitive is because he wants to please his father. Understandable, considering his dad has 4 championship rings. Considering on what he put on the line, it's safe to say that he won that bet in the alternate ending.]]

Scott only thinks of himself and tries to win by using anything and anybody who might benefit him. He is the main antagonist of ''Revenge of the Island''.
----
* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler: He ends up getting so viciously mauled by Fang that he becomes completely paralyzed and has to communicate through a machine. PlayedForLaughs. He gets much better in ''All Stars'' though.]]
* AnimalsHateHim: He gets attacked by both a woolly beaver and his team's mascot in the second episode. Not to mention his ongoing feud with Fang.
%%* ArrogantKungFuGuy
* AssholeVictim: [[spoiler:Is it any wonder why everyone laughs at him after his comeuppance?]]
%%* Badass Beard: Only in his [[WhatCouldHaveBeen original]] [[http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110831234306/totaldramaisland/images/7/7f/TotalDramaReloadedTDIBlogCharacters.png design.]]
* BigBad: Of ''Revenge of the Island'', until "Eat Puke and be Weary".
* BizarreTasteInFood:
** Having grown up on a farm, Scott apparently has no problem eating Chef's disgusting gruel, and even likes it! The accompanying indigestion is a pleasant kind of nostalgia.
** In "Sundae Muddy Sundae", he can't put chocolate syrup on his sundae, so he puts dirt on it instead. And he enjoys it.
* {{Blackmail}}: Once he discovers Mike's secret, he uses it to make him his lackey under threat of telling Zoey.
* BreakTheHaughty: Like every antagonist of seasons past, he gets broken in an ''epic'' fashion. See AndIMustScream above.
%%* ButtMonkey: Similar to Sam, he's especially this in ''All-Stars''.
%%* CardCarryingVillain: The "Devious".
* CheatersNeverProsper: Initially averted, then played straight in "Eat, Puke, and Be Wary", when he switches his dish with Cameron's when his back was turn. This later gets played straight when he [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking gets shot by Chef's painful spaghetti gun, mauled by Fang, and eventually voted off by Cameron and Zoey]].
* ChekhovsSkill: Scott is shown whittling a piece of wood in some of his confessionals. In "Backstabbers, Ahoy!" it's revealed that he has used this skill [[spoiler:to create fake immunity idols.]]
%%* TheChessmaster
%%* TheChewToy: In ''All-Stars''.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: In ''Revenge'', the only person whose side he's on is his own.
* CompositeCharacter: Scott has traits from every antagonist from the first generation cast; see SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute below.
* CrocodileTears: See WoundedGazelleGambit below.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: Despite being season four's main antagonist he gets eliminated in "In Eat Puke and Be Wary" and the final antagonist of the season ends up being JerkJock Lightning instead.
* DevilInPlainSight: Played straight early on; however, the other campers eventually realize that he is up to no good.
* {{Determinator}}: "Whatever doesn't horribly maim and devour you only makes you stronger."
* DidntThinkThisThrough: Scott attempts to hogtie Fang during a challenge, his logic being that sharks are pretty much like pigs. Unfortunately for him, the two are nothing alike.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Sure wasn't happy when Sam and Dakota's electronics were taken away by Chris because it led both of them to fall under withdrawal.
%%* EvilIsHammy
%%* EvilLaugh: He seems to be rather fond of these.
%%* EvilRedhead
* {{Expy}}: Of Russell Hantz from Series/{{Survivor}}, due to his willingness to screw over his own team (especially those he feels have crossed him or he just plain dislikes) and his hunting for the hidden immunity idol. [[spoiler: Much like Russell, he is also beaten by his own arrogance.]]
** Duncan, as well. Only ''far'' worse. Unsurprisingly, they are good pals in ''All-Stars'', and possibly this is the reason why Courtney feels attracted on him.
* ExtremeDoormat: To Courtney. [[spoiler: He implies that even after scheming against him, he still didn't have it in him to vote her off.]]
* FateWorseThanDeath: See AndIMustScream above.
* FarmBoy: He grew up on the farm, which he attributes to his rough personality.
* FearIsTheAppropriateResponse : A very understandable reaction when facing Fang.
* ForgivenButNotForgotten: He seems to forgive J.Z. for using Courtney just to make him jealous, while he's angry about it.
* {{Frameup}}: How he eliminates B and Dawn.
* FreudianExcuse: Implied by Dawn's aura reading.
-->'''Dawn''': You weren't held enough as a child.
* GracefulLoser:
** [[spoiler: He takes his elimination in ''Revenge of the Island'' surprisingly well, even showing approval towards Zoey for "duping" him.]]
** [[spoiler:He takes his elimination in ''All-Stars'' well enough too, even warning Zoey of Mike's treachery before he goes.]]
%%* {{Griefer}}
* HeartbreakAndIceCream: When he is sad, Scott eats ''dirt''.
* HiddenDepths: He has stated he has a soft spot for nature and enjoyed watching the doves released in the morning in ''All-Stars''.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler:His overconfidence in his ability to manipulate and sabotage others is what eventually leads to his downfall.]]
* HumiliationConga: In "Eat, Puke and Be Wary": he gets hit by Chef's spaghetti bazooka, falls into several of Zoey's traps, voted off, and takes the hurl of shame with his least favorite shark who mauls him, later after he's put in the trauma chair everyone laughs at him.
* IconicItem: The shark tooth that he took from Fang in the second episode. [[spoiler:Fang reclaims his tooth just before Scott takes the Hurl of Shame.]]
* ImpossibleTask: His reaction to his flying machine selection in "Up, Up and Away in My Pitiful Balloon".
-->'''Scott:''' ''(upon drawing a flying machine card)'' A bird?! How am I supposed to build a ''bird?!''
* ImNotHereToMakeFriends: [[TeamKiller More so]] than Heather. And that's saying something.
* IronButtMonkey: His only purpose in ''All-Stars'' is to get injured in every manner physically possible, and, of course, it's always PlayedForLaughs.
--> Scott: "Why is it always my butt?"
* JerkassHasAPoint:
-->'''Duncan:''' You have to dive. It's either you or the robot, and I'm pretty sure the robot isn't waterproof.
-->'''Scott:''' Yeah, but it's ''shark''-proof!
%%zce* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's become this in ''All-Stars''.
* KickTheDog:
** Refusing to help Cameron when he was drowning in "Bigger! Badder! Brutal-er!".
** [[spoiler:Getting Dawn's hopes up with a fake [=McLean=] idol after already framing her and getting her voted off in "Backstabbers Ahoy".]]
** Forcing Mike to help him in "Grand Chef Auto" on the threat of blackmail, [[spoiler:nearly [[RelationshipSabotage causing Zoey to breakup with Mike]]]].
%%* ManipulativeBastard
%%* {{Metaphorgotten}}
-->'''Scott''': I'm like a little kid in a candy store full of suckers! ''(chuckles)'' And I'm gonna... uh, like, break 'em and stuff.
%%* TheMillstone: See TeamKiller below.
* NotCheatingUnlessYouGetCaught: Scott attempts to cheat in "Evil Dread"... but is caught by Manitoba.
* PetTheDog: [[spoiler:Warning Zoey about Mike. [[GracefulLoser After she eliminated him, no less]].]]
%%* RevealingHug
* RunningGag: Scott really shouldn't use the confessional so much, seeing how often he manages to hurt himself in it.
** In ''All Stars'', he constantly gets bitten on the butt by animals. He even [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] this in "The Obsta-Kill Kourse."
-->'''Scott''': Why is it always my butt!?
* {{Schemer}}: Chris even refers to him as such after he's eliminated: "Scheming Scott schemed his last scheme."
* ShellShockedVeteran: To Sharks, especially Fang.
* ShoutOut: [[spoiler: the machine (and his facial expression) that he gets stuck in during "Brain vs. Brawn: The Ultimate Showdown" is a shout out to the same state that Captain Pike was reduced to in Series/StarTrekTheOriginalSeries.]]
* ShovelStrike: Accidentally does this to Mike (As Manitoba Smith) in "Evil Dread" after triggering a Booby Trap and getting frightened by bees [[spoiler:([[LittleDidIKnow Little did he know]] is that he also re-awakened Mal)]].
* SingleTear: [[spoiler:He is genuinely upset when everyone, aside from Cameron, laughs at his condition]] in "Brain vs. Brawn: The Ultimate Showdown".
* SmugSnake: In ''Revenge of the Island''. Less so in ''All-Stars''.
* TheSociopath: Dawn outright calls him this, while Mike refers to him as psycho.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute:
** He is essentially a [[SpearCounterpart male version]] of season one Heather, although she did not resort to [[TeamKiller team killing]] to get ahead.
** He is also one of Alejandro. The two use similar tactics against their opponents, such as attempting to build trust with one of their competitors only to betray him/her later, [[spoiler:and suffer a similar fate at the end of their respective seasons]].
* TeamKiller: His initial strategy is to deliberately sabotage his own team. He stops this in ''All-Stars'' for obvious reasons.
** In "Truth or Laser Shark", he slows down his team by petting the mutant rat instead of handing it off to B.
** In "Ice, Ice, Baby", he melts his own team's fort to frame B for sabotage and gets him eliminated.
** In "Backstabbers Ahoy!", he shoots Sam in the back, causing him to pass out and crash their team's boat. [[spoiler: He then frames Dawn for stealing the campers' possessions and gets her eliminated.]]
** In "The Treasure Island of Dr. [=McLean=]", he gives Jo and Lightning a hint on where to go and sends his own team to dig in the wrong location.
* ThrowingTheFight: Part of his team killing strategy.
** However, this is subverted in "Finders Creepers" when Sam wins the challenge, despite being bound to Scott.
** Subverted again in "A Mine Is a Terrible Thing To Waste" [[spoiler:when he threw away the statue they are suppose to find, unaware that the statue landed in Anne Maria's hair which wins them the challenge once they leave the mine.]]
* TokenEvilTeammate: In ''Revenge of the Island'' while on both teams.
* TookALevelInDumbass: A cunning manipulator in ''Revenge of the Island''. In ''All-Stars''... not so much.
* TookALevelInKindness: In ''All-Stars'' he is a lot nicer to his teammates (and everyone else in general) than in ''Revenge of the Island''.
* UnexplainedRecovery: As shown in ''All Stars''.
* UngratefulBastard: Anytime his team wins a challenge in ''Revenge of the Island''.
* VillainDecay: A {{Jerkass}} in ''Revenge'', but relegated to [[TheChewToy Chew Toy]] status in ''All-Stars''. Scott also no longer schemes against the other competitors, instead seems to be content with competing fair and square. Justified because his [[TeamKiller old strategy]] wouldn't be very practical to use twice.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: In "Heroes vs. Villians", the first episode of ''All Stars'', he says in the Confessional that his brush with death after being mauled by Fang in ''Revenge of The Island'' has scarred him and he has developed a phobia of sharks as a result.
* WouldHitAGirl: Just ask Zoey.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: Successfully pulls one on Zoey in "Runaway Model". He [[spoiler:falsely]] shows remorse for his team voting out Dawn, stating that she could communicate with Sasquatchanakwa and save Lindsay.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: In "Grand Chef Auto", after blackmailing Mike about his condition, [[spoiler:Scott promptly eliminates him after winning the episode's challenge]].
* YouJustToldMe: He uses this method to trick Cameron into telling him about Mike's condition.
