May, Marie, and Lee, a trio of crazy sisters who live in the local trailer park and the main antagonists of the show. Each of them has a crush on one of the Eds, and the Kankers enjoy tormenting them and the other neighborhood kids.

[[folder:General]]
* AbhorrentAdmirer: Normally, each Kanker has her preferred Ed - May has Ed, Marie has Edd, and Lee has Eddy - but not only will all three of them dogpile and fight over one Ed if the other two aren't around, they also tend to fawn over other guys they consider attractive enough, e.g. Rolf in his full Urban Rangers uniform in "Ed Overboard". Regardless, all the kids in the cul-de-sac fear the Kankers, to the point that all of them will run away if they happen to show up as the Kankers are violently unpredictable.
* AdaptationalAttractiveness: In the {{Animesque}}, Cartoon Network themed MMORPG ''VideoGame/FusionFall''. [[http://fusionfall.wikia.com/wiki/Lee_Kanker Lee]] and [[http://fusionfall.wikia.com/wiki/Marie_Kanker Marie's]] features are softened to the point where you can call them ''attractive'', while even [[http://fusionfall.wikia.com/wiki/May_Kanker May]] is made to look much cuter.
* AnnoyingLaugh: Their EvilLaugh, which they tend to let out out at the same time. May has a goofy and dimwitted laugh, Marie has a high pitched and shrill cackle, and Lee has an sinister but very trashy guffaw.
* AllWomenAreLustful: Especially the Kankers. What do they do when they inevitably catch up with the target of their affections? Smother him in hugs and kisses, pretty much to [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything radar-breaking extents]] - one of the most hysterical examples has got to be "Key to My Ed" at the end of which they restrain the Eds by their feet to force them into doing footsies with the girls.
* AnticipatoryLipstick: They sometimes are seen applying lipstick before attempting to kiss the Eds and leaving them CoveredInKisses.
* AntiVillain: [[SlidingScaleOfAntiVillains Type I]] in TheMovie - after learning the Eds are in trouble, they drop everything and capture their pursuers. Also, they are visibly outraged (Lee) and terrified (Marie) after Eddy's brother shows his true colors and beats up Eddy and Edd. In series they could be seen as [[SlidingScaleOfAntiVillains Type II]]: see BrokenBird and FreudianExcuse.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther:
** They fight almost all the time, however in the Valentine's Day episode they went on the warpath after they thought Edd had somehow hypnotized May.
** Similarly, in ''Ed Overboard'', Marie and Lee go kidnap Ed after humiliating May by way of an apology.
** They become ''very'' angry when their Ship-In-A-Bottle is taken; when they get it back, Lee happily exclaims, "We're a family again, girls!"
** Granted, it’s completely one-sided. They constantly bully and abuse the Eds throughout the series, but in "The Big Picture Show" once they learn that the other kids are hunting down the Eds with the intent of killing them, they immediately drop everything and make it their personal mission to hunt down the kids and save the Eds, with Lee even remarking "they need us more than ever girls!" without any alternative motive or reward in mind other than the safety of their "boyfriends". All three look completely appalled to see Eddy and Edd being beaten down by Eddy's Brother, Marie and Lee shout their respective 'boyfriends' names in shock when they're beaten and Lee has to be held back by her sisters when she tries to charge and attack Eddy's Brother, so underneath all their bullying and stalking there’s at least enough genuine affection for the Eds in them.
* TheBadGuyWins: A deleted scene from ''Take This Ed and Shove It'' would have revealed that, at some point, the Eds got married to their respective Kanker, thus providing them with their ultimate victory. And those babies? They're their ''grandchildren''. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clN6581EyNY Witness.]]
* BadassAdorable: Much more so, both May (primarily because she's the most sympathetic among them) and Marie (thanks in part to her rather eye-catching looks).
* BastardAngst: They can be assumed to all be half-sisters due to having three separate dads, and while there are moments of affection for each other due to the three being the only ones willing to spend time with the others, they still mock, belittle, and physically abuse each other almost as much as they do everyone else.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: They each have a crush on the Eds and constantly try to get the Eds to love them back, shown by their flirting towards them and creepy romantic gestures. They finally get the Eds to (apparently) return their feelings for them and love them in "A Twist of Ed", only to end up subjected to the same harassment that they constantly put the Eds through.
* BerserkButton:
** Don't steal their Ship-In-A-Bottle, as it was treated like the ApocalypseHow when they discovered it was missing. Not to mention that for the Kankers, ItsPersonal, as they will deal with anyone that gets in their way instead of letting the authorities handle it, as Lee showed when she destroyed the phone when May wanted to get the police involved.
** While they're willing to tolerate each other sexually harassing one of the Eds other than their designated crush, they will absolutely lose it if one of them starts making a serious play for an Ed that isn't "hers". This is most clearly shown in the Valentine's special where Marie physically attempts to drag May away from Edd when the two begin dating, and even Lee is clearly shown being disgusted by May not respecting her sister's crush.
** In addition to the above, they refuse to let anyone other than themselves beat up the Eds, and in the movie they made it their mission to capture the rest of the Cul-de-Sac kids before they seriously injure/kill them.
* BigBadDuumvirate: The closest thing this show has to one, at least before the movie and the introduction of Eddy's brother. In all the episodes where they have a major role, they are the main antagonists (otherwise they are just used as a DiabolusExMachina).
* BigSisterInstinct: As much as they [[BigSisterBully pick on May]], Lee and Marie still care about her. They are quite protective of her in the Valentine's Day episode.
-->'''Marie:''' Where's our May?!\
'''Lee:''' Tell your stupid friend to stay away from our sister!
* BiggerOnTheInside: This is already in effect for nearly every house in the series out of artistic necessity, but the Kankers trailer takes the cake by having an expansive living room, a complete bathroom, a kitchen, a dressing room and a second floor with a full bedroom, all in a single story mobile home.
* BlackComedyRape: Their main RunningGag is a G-rated version of this, which is whenever they show their unwanted love to the Eds. Their lips get comically gigantic, they start cackling like madwomen, and the Eds sound like they're literally being murdered as the camera pans away from wherever the Kankers have trapped them.
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: May, Marie and Lee, respectively. Although Marie actually has blue hair, and isn't much naturally dark-haired (though, that same color itself can be used as a substitute for either black, or even brown).
* BruiserWithASoftCenter: On rare occasions, they would show at least some level of civility towards others (including the Eds), and they do show that they truly care for each other (despite their numerous conflicts), ''most especially'' May (who was proven to be genuinely less malicious than her older sisters).
* TheBully: More of “The bullies.” They take pleasure in not only terrorizing the Eds, but the other kids as well.
* CharacterCatchphrase: They tend to say "it's our boyfriends!" or "it’s the Eds!", upon seeing the Eds.
* CharacterDevelopment: They completely stop their [[ForcefulKiss "cliche show ending" kisses]] after Eddy tells them off in "A Fistful of Ed"; in their two prominent appearances after this, they actually try to win over their "boyfriends'" affections (though Marie still tries to kiss Eddy, it's more to make [[OperationJealousy Edd jealous]] than to torment either of them), and in TheMovie their main goal is to ''save'' them.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn:
** Their debut episode portrayed them in a slightly more sympathy-invoking way, acting significantly more friendly and hospitable while the Eds treat them like garbage.
** Most season 1 and some season 2 episodes show them act like bullies to the Eds instead of stalkers considering that they would often show up just to ruin the Eds' scams, such as taking their money or treehouse, and when they caught the Eds after they took an embarrassing photo of them they gave them a bad makeover to "make them pretty" instead of kissing them like they would any other time in the series. In the same spirit of this, they’re also more prone to messing with the rest of the neighborhood, messing with Jonny, Kevin, Jimmy and scaring the rest of the neighborhood. Much later, while still dreaded by everyone else when they’re in the mood, the Eds become their sole targets.
** Similar to Ed's SuperStrength, their tendency to come out of nowhere was much more infrequent, to almost non-existent in the earlier seasons.
* ChromaticArrangement: Both varieties. Red (Lee), blue (Marie), yellow (May) by their hair color. Red (May), blue (Lee), green (Marie) by their pants.
* ClingyJealousGirl: They really don't appreciate other girls getting near the Eds, not even each other.
* ColdBloodedTorture: They perform a g-rated version of this on Sarah in the finale, in the form of the Wettest Willy ever seen on television.
* CreateYourOwnVillain: If you assume ''Nagged to Ed'' was the Kankers' StartOfDarkness, then the Eds abusing their kindness then fleeing after they first met started a ''long'' years worth of torment.
* DarkActionGirl: They are very strong female antagonists who can kick the ass of all the characters.
* DependingOnTheWriter:
** Whenever they appear they either give the Eds their usual "treatment", steal whatever money they made from a scam, or both.
** How much they care about Eds tends to vary, sometimes they just harass them out of sheer sadism rather than true feelings for them, and other times their feelings seem genuine (mostly in the case of May in the Valentine's Day special).
* DiabolusExMachina: They usually show up ''only'' when something is going right for the Eds.
* DirtyKid: No male character is safe from their unwanted advances, especially the Eds and [[spoiler: Eddy's brother in the finale]].
* DisappearedDad: Three of them, according to ''Nagged to Ed'': Rod, Bubba, and Butch.
* DistaffCounterpart: To the Eds.
** Lee is the bossy and bad-tempered leader of the sisters, just like Eddy is this to the Eds. However, she is tall and feared by all the kids while Eddy is short and gets no respect or recognition around the cul-de-sac.
** May is dimwitted, naive, clumsy, and has a SimpletonVoice to make her stand out as the most unflattering of the Kankers, mirroring Ed in these aspects. She is also often used as a tool by her sisters, just like with Ed.
** Downplayed with Marie, as she has almost nothing in common with Edd beyond being the leader's NumberTwo of their respective group, but their personalities are completely different.
* TheDividual: Aside from their physical appearance and individual preference within the titular trio, they are pretty much the same character unlike the Eds, especially in the early episodes. The youngest one, May, starts to break the mold a bit later on and even gets ADayInTheLimelight in one episode.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Their debut episode, ''Nagged to Ed'', has them not-so-subtly claim the Eds as their husbands, which leads to the boys lounging around on the sofa watching TV, wait for their 'girlfriends' to bring them food and [[HenpeckedHusband ignore all the problems they're causing for the girls at home while the Kankers nag them all evening]]. When the girls show up to show the Eds their 'kids' (dolls that they've made for their respective Ed), the [[DisappearedDad boys promptly run out the front door screaming and leave the Kankers and their dolls behind]]. Ironically, all these stunts end up making the Kankers like them even more despite their annoyance at the moment.
* DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale: Usually played annoyingly straight, but subverted in "A Twist of Ed", where ''the Eds'' are the stalkers and ''they'' are the victims. It all goes well until [[NiceJobBreakingItHero Eddy breaks a sweat]].
* TheDreaded: Whenever they show up, the general reaction most of the kids have is to [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere get the hell out of Dodge]]. While the Eds are the target of their "affection" most of the time, they've proven repeatedly that the other kids are fair game, especially when their BerserkButton gets pressed. UnstoppableRage doesn't even ''begin'' to describe the carnage when that happens. It shows that even Sarah and Kevin are terrified of them [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere and will run away along with the other kids out sheer terror.]]
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes:
** They are villains in all the episodes where they have a major role, but they are also a family and love each other (despite frequent bickering).
** While their "love" for the Eds is usually a VillainousCrush, in their first appearance and the movie (and May in the Valentine's Day episode) they show genuine care towards them.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: When they observe Edd and Eddy getting beat up by Eddy's brother, Lee and Marie react with outrage and shock. It may just be a matter of who is getting beat up.
-->'''Lee:''' [[SelfProclaimedLoveInterest WHAT'S HE DOIN' TO MY MAN?!]]\
'''Marie (and Ed):''' [[SayMyName Double D!]]
* EvilCounterpart: They serve as this to the Eds. They are a trio (TheLeader, TheLancer, TheDitz) of outcasts like them. But unlike the Eds, they use violence to solve their problems and torment other people ForTheEvulz.
* EvilerThanThou: They have done this on occasion to the other characters, showing just how dangerous they are.
** They once held Kevin hostage, spinning him around on a giant tire and threatening to kiss him.
** They torture both Jimmy and Sarah in The Big Picture Show when they interrogate them about the Eds whereabouts.
** They decide to teach Eddy's Brother a lesson at the end of the Movie.
* FauxHorrific: In the Valentines Day special, Lee and Marie investigate May's school locker after she and Double D fall for each other, and both of them react in utter shock and horror when Marie finds out that he sent her his sock as an explicit flirt, with this being the last straw that gets them to find the other Eds to get them to control May's out of control lover. [[note]]Funnily enough, this also serves as CallBack to early design notes for the show that mention that Double D has a creepy habit of sending his socks in the mail to girls he likes, and a later comic that has him doing this exact same thing to Nazz by putting his sock in an envelope to send to her. The implication being that the Kankers personally know Double D well enough to know exactly what him doing this is supposed to mean.[[/note]]
* {{Flanderization}}: Not them ''per se'', but the way they enact their stalking went from creative schemes (the "attraction ride", dressing up as pirates, playing cowgirls etc.) to make it seem like in later seasons they don't put that much effort into their modus operandi, often simply kissing the Eds whenever they had the misfortune of running into them or attacking and restraining them in their own homes.
* EvilLaugh: Their gleeful cackling is frequently heard before the sisters themselves appear on screen, and often after they've left as well.
* FinalBoss: They are the final boss in ''Jawbreakers!'' and both versions of ''The Mis-Edventures''.
* FlatCharacter: They're always either annoying the Eds or tormenting everyone else, ''Nagged to Ed'' notwithstanding. That said, May seems to have developed a little depth than her sisters towards the second half of the series.
* ForcefulKiss: They subject the Eds to this regularly, and leave them CoveredInKisses.
* FreudianExcuse: It can be inferred, from their introduction episode ''Nagged to Ed'', that the Kankers' boy obsession stems from their mother either sleeping with, being married to (and divorced from), or dating three different guys (why else would The Kanker Sisters have three bathrobes with three different names on them?) and, without a strong father figure or any moral compass, the girls see their mom's behavior as acceptable. To make the point even clearer, the girls have almost no physical attributes in common and by taking a closer look at their behavior, you'll notice a sliding scale in matureness in following order: May, Marie, and Lee. Combined with the points above we can assume, that the girls are only half sisters, one for each man.
* FriendlessBackground: Three sisters who never hang out with anyone other than each other, because nobody likes being around them. The Eds don't enjoy their company, to say the least, and a RunningGag is them running away from the three sisters every time they meet them.
* GagLips: All three of them will usually have their lips grow to comedic sizes when puckering up to kiss the Eds. Usually they also gain lipstick from out of nowhere when puckering up, [[AnticipatoryLipstick but sometimes they are seen putting it on beforehand]].
* GangOfBullies: They bully ''everyone'', not just the Eds.
* GiantWoman: They become this in the episode ''[[Recap/EdEddNEddyS3E3OnceUponAnEd Once Upon an Ed]]'' during Ed's story and ''Ed Marks the Spot'' the final boss of the GBA version of ''[[VideoGame/EdEddNEddyTheMisEdventures The Mis-Edventures]]''. They also become this in the console version’s ''Revenge of Ed-zilla'' when they become the Kankerator.
* TheGloriousWarOfSisterlyRivalry: They fight almost all the time.
* HatedByAll: Nobody really likes them. They are feared and disliked by everyone, especially the Eds.
* HazyFeelTurn: In the movie, they play an ostensibly "heroic" role by rushing to rescue the Eds from the neighborhood kids, but it appears that their main motivation is the same as it's always been: That the Eds are "theirs" and so no one else is allowed to hurt them. They also end up being the ones to dish out karmic retribution onto Eddy's Brother.
* HeyYou: Aside from the Eds, they never seem to remember the names of anyone else in the cul-de-sac. May even suggests they rename Jimmy "Dutch" in the movie, which Lee and Marie even go along with. Though in one of the earlier episodes, they referred to Kevin by name.
* HillbillyHorrors: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] since they're still characters in a kid's show, but the sentence "[[Film/{{Deliverance}} You've got a real purdy mouth.]]" would not at all sound out of place coming from one of their mouths.
* HotBlooded: All three are reckless and hot-tempered.
* HypocriticalHeartwarming: In TheMovie. Throughout most of the film, the Kankers were hunting down and capturing the others kids for having the temerity to even try and harm the Eds ("Ain't no one beating up on my man but me!"). They were also outright disgusted at Eddy's brother for beating on them in the first place.
* IgnoredEpiphany: In "A Twist of Ed", they don't enjoy the aggressive flirting and unwanted sexual harassment the Eds put them through, the same exact thing ''they'' have constantly done to the Eds since meeting them. Once they discover the Eds are only faking their love to scare them though, they immediately fall back into their old ways and continue to harass the Eds themselves, despite now knowing what it feels like.
* {{Jerkass}}: All of them are bullies, but Lee in particular is a jerk even to her sisters.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: In [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddysBigPictureShow the movie]]. Outside of that, they sometimes treat each other with respect - see AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther.
* KarmaHoudini: In context, they ''never'' get any serious long-lasting comeuppance for their shenanigans, even in the movie.
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: Very rarely, but there are moments where other characters are able to punish them, as they are beaten up by Jonny in "Home Cooked Eds", defeated by Plank in "For the Ed, by the Ed", scared by Ed ("Dawn of the Eds") or Eddy ("A Fistful of Ed"). And in "Momma's Little Ed", Ed traps their heads in a measuring cup.
* KissingDiscretionShot: Whenever they successfully manage to kiss the Eds the screen never actually shows them kissing the Eds, with the screen turning to black or the scene shifting as it happens, but the Eds are usually seen CoveredInKisses afterwards. This is only averted in "Ed Overboard" when May is seen kissing Ed [[RuleOfThree three times]].
* KissOfDeath: A fate almost every male on the show has encountered. May swinging down to kiss Ed in ''Ed Overboard'' and Lee pushing Eddy into a stall with her lips in ''Out with the Old, In with the Ed'' are the only times it has been seen on screen.
** The Eds: The most frequent victims of this.
** Kevin: In ''Dawn of the Eds'', Lee threatened to kiss Kevin if he didn't say the color of his underwear.
** Jonny: Has a kiss mark on his left temple at the end of ''Ed Overboard''.
** Rolf: Left covered with kisses at the end of ''Ed Overboard''.
** Jimmy: He was supposed to be kissed by Lee in the ''Big Picture Show'', but that was removed. He can still be seen wiping his face in disgust after Lee lets go of him.
** Eddy’s Brother: [[spoiler:The sisters drag him into his trailer as Lee exclaims, “First one inside gets to give him mouth to mouth!”. This is then followed by their laughter.]]
* LackOfEmpathy: At their worst, they are ruthless molesters who couldn't care less about the suffering of their "boyfriends".
* TheLadette: Aggressive, violent, (mostly) unhygienic female bullies who love fighting and inappropriately harassing the Eds.
* LastNameBasis: You rarely hear the Eds nor the kids call the Kankers by their first names. The Eds, in particular, like to shout "Kankers!" when they spot the trio of girls. Ironically, they were also the only characters in the series whose last names were actually revealed, until the movie revealed Nazz's.
* {{Leitmotif}}: They're given a brassy, sleazy-sounding theme in the movie (listen to a snippet [[https://youtu.be/H6CIf1DmaOU?t=1020 here]]).
* LoveConfession: As part of a deal to get their school homeroom back, they once forced the Eds into confessing that the Kankers are their girlfriends… in public and in front of almost everyone they know. Lee has Eddy show off a picture of her bathing in the kitchen sink as his wallet keepsake, May has Ed dress up as her, and Marie rides on Edd's back while announcing his love.
* LoveMakesYouCrazy: If you want to call their creepy obsession with the Eds "love".
* LovingBully: The Kanker Sisters are utterly head over heels for the Eds, as well as their worst tormentors. Somewhat unique in that their amorous feelings are completely known to their victims, and the bullying usually involves the girls forcing themselves on the Eds.
* LowerClassLout: Three half-sisters raised by a single mother, living in a trailer park, getting their kicks out of tormenting everybody else and inappropriately harassing the protagonists, with very few redeeming qualities.
* {{Lust}}: Their defining flaw. They love to make out with the Eds, whether they want it or not.
* MissedHimByThatMuch: Throughout "Run For Your Ed". The Kanker Sisters are tearing up the cul-de-sac in search of their Ship-In-A-Bottle, while the Eds are stuck with it thanks to [[ContinuityNod a sleepwalking Ed]]. The only reason they find out who has the bottle is because a BoundAndGagged Sarah sold the Eds out.
* MoreDeadlyThanTheMale: They're basically modeled as the more violent version of the Eds.
* MysteriousPast: Their origin was never fully explored or cleared:
** In their first episode "Nagged to Ed", they specifically mention that they just moved in, but from where isn't mentioned.
** Then in "A Town Called Ed" it is stated that the land on which Peach Creek was found was their ancestors' property. But why do they live in poverty, if basically they own the land?
** Very interestingly the treasure map from Eddy's Brother's room led to their trailer, and when May finds it, she says she buried it there. Implying a connection between them and Eddy's brother that was never touched upon.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast:
** "Kanker" is also the Dutch and Indonesian word for cancer. "Kanker" in vernacular Dutch can also be more or less translated as "fuck". Then there's the obvious association with canker sores, which --fittingly enough-- [[MeaningfulName are painful and all but impossible to get rid of]].
** The Latin American Spanish dub [[DubNameChange changed their surnames]] to "Cruel".
* NiceMeanAndInBetween: They are all antagonists but a TerribleTrio version of it can be: May (nice), Lee (mean), and Marie (in-between), with Lee and Marie sometimes switching roles.
* NoIndoorVoice: Quite a lot of their dialogue is them yelling at each other, or shrieking, "It's our boyfriends!!"
* NoodleIncident: In "Ed Overboard", the Urban Rangers, Rolf, Jonny, Plank, and Jimmy, who all came to save Ed from being kidnapped by the Kankers, end up being ditched by the Eds to be left at the Kankers mercy while they make their escape. The episode ends with all four of them coming back for revenge against Ed, looking like complete wrecks with Jonny wearing Marie's clothes and undergarments, Plank is filthy with mud smeared all over his face, Jimmy is covered in makeup, May's clothes, a tutu and a hair bow on way too tight, and Rolf with torn clothes, messy eyeliner, a bunch of wooden clamps in his hair and is covered is kisses. It's clearly implied that the Kankers decided to give them one painful makeover with their own closet and had their way with Rolf off-screen, so it's no wonder [[HereWeGoAgain they all came back to kidnap Ed]] for revenge.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Much to the horror of the title characters.
* OddNameOut: Marie, May, and... Lee.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: When they go on the warpath to recover their Ship-In-A-Bottle and discover that the Eds have it, not only do they completely ignore their crushes on the Eds, they also enact no direct violence on the Eds despite their aggressive personalities, instead collecting the bottle off of Ed's finger and going on their way.
* OutsideContextProblem: A bunch of their appearances tend to happen halfway through or at the end of an episode with zero warning, sometimes coming literally out of nowhere to throw a wrench in the Eds plans, and they almost always end up winning.
* OutOfFocus: They appear much more in the first season than in the rest of the series.
* ParentalIssues: Their FreudianExcuse.
* PetTheDog: In the movie, they capture the kids to save the Eds from their wrath. Also, after Eddy's Brother beats up Eddy, they decide to let the Eds go and they give Eddy's Brother his just desserts.
* PhraseCatcher: "Kankers!"
* ThePigPen: Downplayed, as they don't have bad body odor, but they've got bad teeth and live in a mess of a trailer.
* PrecociousCrush: All three Kankers, a bunch of middle schoolers at best, think Eddy's Brother is a hunk despite being appalled by his abusive personality. When he’s knocked out and helpless, the Kankers decide to deliver some LaserGuidedKarma by showing their series-infamous affection to the man behind a locked door.
* ProjectileKiss: All three of them show the ability in the console version of ''The Mis-Edventures'' and the GBA game ''Jawbreakers!''. In the show, they do a super version of this in ''Once Upon an Ed'' by literally smashing their heads together.
* RedOniBlueOni: As a whole, the red to the Eds' blue. They prefer solving their problems via brute force, to the chagrin of everybody else.
* SayMyName: Sometimes when they appear, Eddy will sneer out a frustrated ''Kankers.'' under his breath. If they show up out of nowhere, usually when the boys are in trouble with something else already, expect all three Eds to shout ''KANKERS!'' in unison while trying to get away.
* ScaryTeeth: Downplayed, but still present. Lee and Marie, two of the three aggressive and sadistic girls who get treated like G-rated HillbillyHorrors by everyone else in the neighborhood, also happen to have pretty bad and yellow teeth. Lee is outright drawn with a blue tooth, implied to be either covered in cavities or is outright decayed. Weirdly enough, May has perfectly clean and healthy teeth save for an overbite and huge bucktooth.
* SecondEpisodeIntroduction: They are introduced in the second episode, ''Nagged To Ed''. Downplayed, since this episode is paired with the first.
* SelfProclaimedLoveInterest: Towards their "boyfriends", who clearly are not interested in their stalkers.
* SheCleansUpNicely:
** In ''Nagged to Ed'', the three freshened up surprisingly well.
** In ''May I Have This Ed'' they were more dressed up than usual and looked fairly nice.
* SiblingTeam: While they fight often, they are the only siblings on the show who work as a team. They do everything together.
* {{Slapstick}}: They are involved in over-the-top slapstick comedy, especially May who is punched by her sisters more often and is even used as on object (Lee knocks down a door using May and has also used Marie as a rowboat paddle and an umbrella before).
* StalkerWithACrush: To the Eds. Even when they were introduced in "Nagged to Ed", the second episode of the series, it was clear they had some stalker tendencies as they not only knew Edd's preferred moniker before he could introduce himself but even had drawings of themselves being with each of the Eds on their wall note, done well in advance of the girls even meeting the Eds for the first time.
* StalkingIsFunnyIfItIsFemaleAfterMale: Their obsessive, clingy attitude towards the Eds is played for comedy.
* StayInTheKitchen: Viciously inverted. They view the Eds (and men in general) as weak and more fit for housework.
* SuperStrength: They are among the most powerful characters in the show, able to overpower characters like Ed, who himself has shown a somewhat slapstick-charged form of superhuman lifting strength, though the fact that he is not prone to fighting girls as per his mom's wishes can be in play. Nonetheless, despite great amounts of destruction these three wrought upon the town, soon after kicking a door pretty far once, Lee has a large book dropped on her foot courtesy of a clumsy Double D - the book does not destroy the floor, mind, and she, the strongest Kanker sister, ''remains in a cast'' for the rest of the episode.
* ATasteOfTheirOwnMedicine: In "A Twist of Ed" when Ed and Double D use ReversePsychology on them to try to scare them away and leave them alone. They catch on to the plan when Eddy can't bring himself to flirt with them though, which results in ''the Kankers'' doing it to the Eds with "Reverse-Reverse Psychology", pretending to still be scared of them just to lure them into their bedroom, trap them, and force another round of kissing on their reaffirmed "boyfriends".
* TakeThatKiss: All three of them have a crush on the Eds, but their constant kiss attacks are just as much their way of bullying the Eds as it is them showering them with affection, and the Kankers are very aware of this. They'll happily try to kiss the Eds just for running into them, but they'll also take the time to do it after ruining one of their scams ("Avast Ye Eds"), defeating the Eds in a showdown ("Know It All Ed"), or even to get {{revenge}} against them ("A Twist Of Ed").
* TerribleTrio: Especially when they destroy the cul-de-sac trying to find their heirloom, the Ship-In-A-Bottle.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: All three of them fit TheLadette trope. They are also rather boy-crazy, and they like to wear makeup and take care of their hair.
* TookALevelInKindness: Sort of. Until Eddy told them to beat it in "Fistful of Ed", they treated the Eds as their personal toys. In ''May I Have This Ed?'' they use less violent (for their respective Ed, at least) methods to gain their affection. Come [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddysBigPictureShow the movie]], and they are [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold jerks with hearts of gold]], with slightly more emphasis on the "jerk" part.
* TownGirls:
** Punk Marie is the butch, sensitive and long-haired May is the femme, and TheLeader Lee is the neither.
** As a trio, they are the butch (TheLadette) to Nazz's femme (NiceGirl) and Sarah's neither. (GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak).
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: More like "trademark favorite condiment," but it still counts. The Kankers love using ketchup as a sauce to their meals.
* UnstoppableRage: "Run for your Ed". When the Kankers lost their Ship-In-A-Bottle, the [[TheTokyoFireball cul-de-sac took more damage]] in their search for it than in all the preceding episodes ''combined''. To put this in perspective, they caused cracks to appear in the streets, water to shoot from fire hydrants, and decimated houses in seconds. Their anger was like a natural disaster. Rolf's farm animals went berserk due to the animals' uncanny ability to detect natural disasters by instinct. Rolf, one of the toughest characters in the cast, spent their rampage in a storm shelter.
* UnwantedSpouse: The Eds absolutely abhor them and reject all of their advances, while the Kankers are determined to make them their husbands. A deleted scene shows that they eventually succeeded in getting the Eds to marry them as adults.
* UnwantedHarem: They generally each have their preferred Ed, but all three will go after the same one if the other two aren't around.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: During the ''Boo Haw Haw'', where their sole appearance has them cooking s’mores on Halloween night together in an alley. Ed, however, stumbled on them and [[ItMakesSenseInContext hallucinated them as a trio of witches brewing a wicked curse that will summon a horde of monsters to come after him]], sending him into a panic and movie-induced hallucination spree that ruins the Eds Halloween plans and got a ''lot'' of kids hurt that night.
* VillainousFaceHold: The three of them will occasionally grab the Eds by the face when forcing kisses on them.
** Lee grabs Eddy by the lips in "A Town Called Ed", forcing him to pucker up.
** Marie grabs Double D by the face at the end of "A Twist of Ed", and after chuckling evilly at him dips him down while pressing his cheeks together to hold him still and force him to pucker up. She similarly mashes Eddy's lips together and tries to kiss him in "May I Have This Ed?" when trying to make Double D jealous, before she is interrupted.
** May grabs Ed by the back of his head and pulls him off-screen briefly to smother him in quick kisses in "Ed Overboard".
* VillainessesWantHeroes: The Eds aren't exactly "heroes" and the Kankers "villains" but the former are the main characters while the Kankers serve as the antagonists.
* VillainousCrush: On the Eds, in a very over-the-top fashion. It's still unknown whether or not they actually have a serious crush on the Eds (their "boyfriends"), or just want men to boss around. The only one who sometimes cares about how the object of her desire feels about her is May.
* VillainousRescue: While the kids are hunting down the Eds with the intent of killing them, the Kankers go after the kids and capture them one by one, to ensure the safety of "their boyfriends".
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: When they heard that the kids were going after "their boyfriends" to kill them, they immediately set out to save them by capturing all the kids one by one.
* WeaknessTurnsHerOn: It’s very clear they like their boyfriends trembling and trapped (and usually tied up), and see the Eds running away from their love as a game more than anything. In most situations where the Eds stand up to them, they either lose interest and move on (Eddy ruining their mood by telling them to get lost to their face), or get angry and ready to fight (Marie looking ready to pummel Double D for getting in the way of her lunch). In one occasion, they were even struck with complete terror when the Eds suddenly started willingly and obsessively returning their love back to them, only breaking out of it when the girls noticed Eddy had a single drop of nervous sweat.
* WeHaveWaysOfMakingYouTalk: Subverted - Lee gives Sarah a wet willy so she'll reveal what's going to happen to the Eds, but she refuses to talk. Jimmy, however, squeals straight away.
* WhatDoesSheSeeInHim: It's unclear why the Kankers are so attracted to the unpopular and generally pretty lame Eds; they see them as kindred spirits, perhaps?
* {{Yandere}}: They show tendencies of this, particularly Marie in the episode ''May I Have This Ed''. Unless they're all in on it together, '''DON'T''' steal their "boyfriends."
* YoungerThanTheyLook: They're apparently in the same grade as the Eds. It is possible they've been held back a year or so, though. They mention skipping school and have made the Janitor's room cozy for when they want to hang out in there.
* YouthfulFreckles: They are tomboyish teenagers and their freckles is the only physical trait they have in common.

The eldest and the leader of the Kanker Sisters. She has a crush on Eddy, much to his dismay.
----
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Her crush on Eddy is apparently because of this, which is ironic considering she's probably much more of a bad girl than Eddy is a "bad boy".
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: She's the strongest out of her sisters, seeing as how she can overpower both of them at once. This is probably why she's the one in charge by default.
* BigBad: As the leader of the main antagonists of most of the series, she's usually in the lead whenever the Kankers show up and makes most of their plans to mess with the Eds.
* BigSisterBully: She's often a jerk to her younger sisters (especially May), though Marie and May aren't exactly passive types either.
* BigSisterInstinct: For all the times she smacks her sisters around, she still cares about them. She's the first to exclaim ''"We're a family again, girls!"'' when they finally get their ship-in-a-bottle back and calm down, and she takes the lead when it comes to breaking May out of her blubbering by going out with Marie to kidnap Ed to make her feel better.
* BloodKnight: She loves fighting and beating the tar out of people, and expresses disappointment that the Cul-De-Sac kids didn't invite the Kankers over in a neighborhood rumble.
* BrawnHilda: She's the biggest tomboy on the show. Her lust for kissing boys is perhaps her only feminine trait. ''Nagged to Ed'', ''Honor Thy Ed'', ''Smile for the Ed'', and ''Run for your Ed'' are some of the few times she's seen not dressed like a guy. Her deep voice and violent nature also illustrate this.
* CharacterTic: Her putting her finger on her chin when she's thinking and lifting her leg up when she's enthused, could count. Possibly justified due to her HiddenEyes.
* DroolDeluge: In ''If It Smells Like an Ed'' the sisters are shown to have a huge amount of spit on their hands after they ask to shake Jimmy's hand. Lee however takes this trope to the next level in the movie as she leaves Sarah's face drenched with spit when they interrogated her. She literally created a puddle doing this and had spit flowing on her finger even when it was upside down. This is further exaggerated by the spit that flies everywhere during the wet willy (This doesn't even include the fact that the deleted part of this scene had Jimmy's face covered in slobber after Lee kisses him.)
* EarAche: Twisted Eddy's ear during their wrestling match in ''Tag Yer Ed'' and gave Sarah a rather gross wet willy in the ''Big Picture Show''.
* EvilIsBigger: Is the tallest of the Kanker sisters and the nastiest among them. A similar thing could be said when comparing her with her "boyfriend" Eddy.
* EvilRedhead: Has red hair and is quite cruel, as the leader of a GangOfBullies.
* ExtraEyes: Has them in the movie, either as a one-shot gag or as a smear frame; a few other episodes showed her with two eyes.
* EyesOutOfSight: Her eyes are rarely seen.
* FightingTheLancer: Often to Marie.
* FieryRedhead: A reckless, HotBlooded redhead who loves fighting and tormenting people along with her younger sisters.
* {{Foil}}: To her respective Ed, Eddy. They're both the leaders of their trios and have pretty mean and aggressive personalities, but while Eddy is hated by everyone else for being an annoying and wimpy scammer, Lee is ''feared'' by everyone as just about the most dangerous kid in the neighborhood who can get away with bullying everyone. She's also pretty tall while Eddy is the shortest kid of the cast, and this is on top of her having the biggest chin of the cast while Eddy is made fun of for literally being a no-neck chump.
* FreezeFrameBonus: In the movie, she quickly jerks her head up to reveal her eyes for a frame, showing her as having [[ExtraEyes three]] (though this could simply be an animation quirk to make them stand out more).
* GeniusBruiser:
** She's physically the strongest of the Kankers, and possesses some impressive level of intelligence (unless you count May being BookSmart in "Hanky Panky Hullabaloo", but that's not her usual characterization).
** For her strength, she is able to overpower both her sisters at the same time.
** For her intelligence, she's a pretty cunning sister who makes the plans while her sisters mostly follow her. She's also the first Kanker to figure out the Eds strategy in the reverse psychology episode.
* {{Gonk}}: She's rather homely compared to her sisters, with her prominent jaw and "trailer mom" curls.
* GrievousHarmWithABody: She uses Ed as a mallet in "May I Have this Ed" and May as a club in "Big Picture Show".
* HandyFeet: In ''Tag Yer Ed'', she uses her toes to twist Eddy's ear, while standing up.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: Despite being a bully, Lee can be caring at times.
** In "Ed Overboard", both she and Marie play a prank on May, ruining her looks. When May starts crying, Marie keeps taunting her, but at least Lee feels remorseful and tries to say some nice words to May ("You've got a great personality. Besides, who needs good looks when you've got us?"). As an apology, she and Marie go out of their way to find and kidnap Ed to make her happy again.
** She happily exclaims, "We're a family again, girls!" when the Kankers get back their ship in a bottle.
** Lee is the most consistently diligent when it comes telling her sisters that their 'man' is 'cheating' on them or that they're in trouble, twice getting offended on Marie's behalf when Edd is with another girl and is the first to rally the other Kankers on a rescue mission in the movie, saying that the Eds need them now more than ever now that they're on the run for their lives.
** She is the first character who tries to stand up for Eddy in the movie, when she sees his brother beating him up.
* HypocriticalHeartwarming: In ''The Big Picture Show'', when Eddy's being beaten down by his Brother, she's the second kid to get angry about it, yelling out ''"What's he doin' to my man?!"'' and needing to be held back by her sisters. Never mind the fact that she's attacked him plenty of times before.
* LadyInRed: Besides her standard red-polka-dotted blouse, she has also worn other red outfits in the show:
** A red homely dress in "Nagged to Ed".
** A red swimsuit in "Home Cooked Eds".
** A red-and-white striped dress for the school dance in "May I Have This Ed?".
* LadyLooksLikeADude: This is never commented on in the series, but if Lee would take on masculine clothing, she could pass for a boy, mostly because of her gender-neutral name, her short hairstyle, and the fact that you rarely see her eyes, since the rest of the primary girls in the series are normally depicted with their own eyes being exposed onscreen (even Marie, whose right eye is often shown being visibly covered by her hair bangs).
* LargeAndInCharge: The tallest Kanker and TheLeader of the trio.
* LanternJawOfJustice: Lee's head has a more prominent and stronger chin than the other female characters.
* TheLeader: She's the Kanker leader with bits of Type I and Type II, being the one who usually bosses the girls around while also being the most level-headed of them when it comes to plans.
* LetMeAtHim: To Eddy's brother when he beats up Eddy in the movie. Her sisters have to hold her back. She stops out of shock when he [[GrievousHarmWithABody uses Eddy to beat down Edd]].
* LightIsNotGood: Her standard attire consists of a white blouse (with some red polka dots on it), but she's typically a '''''very''''' dangerous person.
* NobodyTouchesTheHair: She's pretty territorial over her hair- she won't even let Eddy touch it.
* NoSell: She's immune to the Hypnowheel - Eddy thinks it's because of her bangs.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: She calls Nazz a "[[PrecisionFStrike hussy]]" [[labelnote:*]]Which is a word used to call a woman a slut, a whore, or even a prostitute. It's often considered a derogatory term on par with the words skank or fag.[[/labelnote]] in "May I Have This Ed?" because she's hanging out with Double D in the school dance, much to Marie's jealousy. How she gets away with saying that in a kids show is beyond anyone.
* ProjectileKiss: Does this in her giant form in the episode ''Once Upon an Ed'' during Ed's story and during ''Ed Marks the Spot'' the final level of the GBA version of ''The Mis-Edventures''.
* StrongGirlSmartGuy: Strong Girl to Eddy's Smart Guy, to some extent. Eddy relies on trickery to succeed, while Lee uses brute force.
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: Huge Girl to Eddy's Tiny Guy.
* TomboyishName: In a way - she has an unisex name.
* TomboyishVoice: Has the manliest voice out of all the female characters considering that her voice sounds very deep and rather rough for a female character.
* ToxicFriendInfluence: A familial example, [[{{Downplayed}} albeit not an openly strong one]]. Outside of their usual bullying and amorous acts, it seems that both May and Marie are relatively more capable in being socially mannered (and independent) than Lee does, as best shown in the episodes "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Hanky Panky Hullabaloo", "Truth or Ed", and "A Fistful of Ed". This gives a probable impression that Lee herself, [[LargeAndInCharge being the eldest sister]], is the one controlling her younger sisters into doing those undesirable moments along with her, most especially towards the Eds (similar to how Eddy treats both Ed and Edd [[WithFriendsLikeThese rather]] [[BadBoss carelessly]] as TheLeader).
* TheTroublemaker: The Kanker Sisters, {{Distaff Counterpart}}s to the Eds, are often going after their "boyfriends" to give them unsolicited kisses (in one episode, they trap them in an abandoned house to make them their "husbands"), but they are not above harassing the rest of the Cul de Sac.
* UnholyMatrimony: Played with in "Honor Thy Ed", where she, the most dreaded bully in the neighborhood, "marries" herself to Eddy, the lead and generally hated neighborhood scammer, against his will while leading the ceremony for Marie/Edd and May/Ed, as well.
-->'''Lee:''' ''"We are gathered here today to join in marriage the Kankers and the Eds! They promise to love, honor and obey… or we’ll pound 'em."''
* YoungerThanTheyLook: She's apparently in the same grade as her younger sisters, though she might have been held back a grade.

The middle child of the Kankers. She has a crush on Edd, although her feelings aren't returned.
----
* AffectionateNickname: In "Out with the Old, In with the New", Edd, while performing a piggyback ride for her, has reluctantly referred to her as "my gal".
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: According to "[[Recap/EdEddNEddyS1E4OverYourEd Over Your Ed]]" and "Run for your Ed", she likes cheaters and slobs. [[{{Irony}} In reality]], she has a crush on Edd who is the complete opposite of either of those. At least, aside from the end of "A Twist of Ed", where she and her sisters realize that the Eds were trying to trick them into leaving them alone by being as creepy as they are, and Marie gives Double D a huge love-struck smile as she approaches him afterwards. Apparently the experience only made her crush on him ''even stronger'' after experiencing his assertive and manipulative side.
* BadassAdorable: She can kick butt without hesitation, and is quite pretty, more so than her sisters. Her affections for Edd has made her this even more.
* BetaBitch: While Marie is often pretty mean in front of others (even to her own sisters), she's not as practically nasty as Lee is.
* BeautyIsBad: According to one of the shows head storyboard artists, Jim Miller, Marie is "the cutest girl out of every female character".
* BigSisterBully: Along with Lee, she picks on May.
* BrutalHonesty: Has no problem telling people what she thinks of them, calling Eddy "the little yappy one". She insults May's intelligence so often it's almost a RunningGag.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Kankers already hate it if their Ed is with somebody else or standing up to them, but Marie takes the cake by having the worst reaction. Like how May turns into a blubbering and dejected mess, Marie gets livid and vengeful.
** In ''May I Have This Ed?'' she's is literally seething with rage at the sight of Edd dancing with Nazz, and wrecks the speaker she’s sitting on by gripping it so hard the entire appliance tears open. When Lee eggs her into doing something about it, she shoves Nazz away and tries to make him jealous by smooching Eddy, and long story short starts the DisasterDominoes that wrecked the entire school.
** In ''Hanky Panky Hullabaloo'' she's visibly shocked and vengeful against her own sister, May, for stealing her boy, and eventually assumes that the other Eds must have tricked them somehow. She opts to solve the problem with Lee, first by beating Ed and Eddy up and then trying to drag May away by force.
* CuteBruiser: Marie is a pretty chick who can kick ass. In "Tag Yer Ed" she is able to defeat all three Eds in a wrestling match in less than 20 seconds.
* CuteButCacophonic: While probably the least harsh on the eyes for a Kanker, she’s got a high pitched, aggressive and shrill voice and a tendency to shout a lot.
* DarkIsEvil: Normally wears a black tank top, and is significantly harsh towards others.
* DeadpanSnarker: Marie is the sassiest and bluntest Kanker Sister, usually having a wiseguy attitude to her sisters' banter.
-->'''May:''' ''(Throwing Lee and Marie into a wall)'' '''"I'M UGLY!"'''\
'''Marie:''' ''(While in obvious pain)'' "So, what else is new…?"\
(…)\
'''Lee:''' ''(In the middle of May's hysterical crying)'' "Go see what she's doin' now."\
'''Marie:''' "Who died and made you queen-" ''(Immediately forced into the open by being punched in the chin by Lee.)''
* DisguisedInDrag: She disguises herself as Eddy in the movie to set a trap for Kevin.
* EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference: Her blue hair was less dark when she was introduced. Just compare screenshots of "Nagged to Ed" and The Movie, her first and last appearances, side by side.
* {{Foil}}: To her favorite Ed, Double D. Marie is trashy, looks like she’s into punk and is incredibly aggressive and mean while also arguably being the least eccentric of her group. Meanwhile Edd is obsessed with his appearance and hygiene, tries to be an intellectual and is about the most polite kid in the neighborhood, usually having to use his mediator personality to keep Ed and Eddy in check.
* FormerlyFit: In a deleted scene from "Take This Ed and Shove It", which sees the Cul-de-Sac 90 years in the future, she's portrayed as a fat old woman.
* GenericCuteness: Her sisters can hardly be considered good-looking, but Marie, if it weren't for her yellow teeth, could easily be seen as at least pretty.
* TheGenericGirl: Lee is clearly the leader and May is a naïve misfit, leaving Marie as the least distinct of the sisters. The vaguest hints to traits to her unique traits is that she’s into cars [[labelnote:*]]Her demanded gift in ''VideoGame/EdEddNEddyTheMisEdventures'' is a can of axle grease, and Eddy distracts her by pointing out an abandoned car axle behind her before smacking her head with a sandwich in Hanky Panky Hullabaloo[[/labelnote]], and that she gets way more pissed and jealous than her sisters when Double D is with someone else.
* GeniusBruiser: She's a capable fighter, and is shown to be occasionally [[StreetSmart crafty]] ''and'' [[DeadpanSnarker snarky]].
* TheGlomp: In the opening scene of "A Twist of Ed", she weaponizes this against Double D, tackling him from behind and knocking him to the ground before [[HumanKnot tying him up in his own hat]], all while flirting with him and calling him [[TermsOfEndangerment pet names]] before kissing him.
-->'''Marie:''' YAHOO! (''tackles Double D from behind and ties him up'') Hiya, dreamboat! (''applies her lipstick and smirks at Double D'') Pucker up, oven mitt!
* GreenAndMean: Her normal attire consists of green pants, and she herself is a shameless punk-styled girl.
* HiddenDepths:
** She ''might'' be into art, if the one time she's shown painting is anything to go by.
** Her crush on Double D is probably enough to imply more hidden depths. She's the only Kanker who is attracted to someone who is very different from her.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: While not as much as with May's case, it seems that Marie herself can ''at least'' openly display some certain level of genuine care and concern for others, most notably shown in "A Fistful of Ed" (after Edd accidentally dropped a Biology-based textbook on Lee's left foot) and at ''Ed Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show'' (when Edd himself got literally crushed to the ground by Eddy's older brother).
* HypocriticalHeartwarming: She often physically harasses Edd, yet in the movie, when she saw him get smacked down shamelessly by Eddy's brother, she reacted with '''that''' much shock and awe, which is also apparently sympathetic.
* IWasQuiteALooker: She looks pretty now but a deleted scene from "Take This Ed and Shove It" reveals that she will grow up into a very ugly and obese old woman. Though considering it's a deleted scene this likely isn't canon.
* JustEatGilligan: Edd, being [[NiceGuy E]][[ExtremeDoormat d]][[TokenGoodTeammate d]], probably wouldn't turn her down if she considered asking him out politely when Ed and Eddy weren't around.
* TheLadette: The most tomboyish of the three sisters.
* LeanAndMean: Visibly speaking, she's arguably the thinnest of her sisters, and a nasty one, too.
* LittleMissBadass: Marie is not that very tall (nearly having the same height as Edd does), but she's still one of the strongest female characters on the show.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Masculine Girl to Double D's Feminine Boy. Marie is an intimidating tomboyish bad girl with a punk look and Edd is a shy nerdy NiceGuy.
* MiddleChildSyndrome: A narrative example. She's the middle sister, and she gets the least focus and/or development of the three. The older sister Lee is the most prominent when the Kankers are together, as she usually decides and speaks for all three, and her younger sister May eventually develops her own personality, which leads to DivergentCharacterEvolution from her sisters in later episodes.
* TheNicknamer: A more [[AffectionateNickname affectionate]] example. Besides "boyfriend", Marie has also referred to Edd with other nicknames, most notably "Muffin", "Oven Mitt", and "Sweetie", much more so than her sisters do.
* NumberTwo: The definite second-in-command for the Kanker sisters, especially given that she's practically tougher than May is.
* OperationJealousy: She briefly attempted this near the end of "May I Have This Ed" where Marie, upon seeing Edd dance with Nazz, thinks she can make him jealous as payback for [[BerserkButton upsetting]] her by dancing with Eddy and smooching him against his will while he's watching. Aside from the fact that she thought this would work against Edd, it WentHorriblyWrong when the school wound up collapsing soon after.
* OppositesAttract: A one-sided example since she has an unrequited crush on Double D, with whom she shares barely anything in common.
* OralFixation: Marie is occasionally chewing gum in certain moments.
* PairTheSmartOnes: Pretty [[{{Downplayed}} downplayed]], especially when considering her limited commonality with Edd. Nevertheless, Edd himself is known to be [[BookSmart a well-established academic genius]], and while it's not that heavily shown during the show itself, it seems that Marie herself is evidently more capable of [[StreetSmart being pretty crafty]] than her sisters are.
* PurpleIsTheNewBlack: She shares the same quirk with Rolf of being drawn with blue hair, likely meant to be a darker hair color (though, unlike his, Marie's own hair color was never given any indication if it's really natural or not).
* TheQuincyPunk: She definitely has the look and the attitude.
* SarcasticDevotee: Is verbally the wittiest of the Kankers, yet she still stood by them though thick and thin.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: Not in the same extent as May is to Ed in terms of expressing affection. Nonetheless, Marie, despite being a "bad girl" herself, is certainly into Double D, who is known to be polite and courteous very often to others.
* StreetSmart: While not an academic genius like Edd, despite that she's shown to be very crafty and often thought of as being the smartest of the trio.
* StrongGirlSmartGuy: The Strong Girl to Edd's Smart Guy. She is a tough and violent Kanker sister while Edd is a bookish ChildProdigy.
* TanktopTomboy: By far the most tomboyish girl in the show and she wears a black tanktop.
* UptightLovesWild: {{Inverted|Trope}} with the Wild Marie's infatuation with the Uptight Edd.
* WhiteSheep: Of the physical appearance variety. She's not exactly stunning, but were it not for her yellow teeth she could easily pass for Nazz-level cute in a punkish sort of way.
* WrenchWench: She likes cars and is able to fix vehicles on her own.
* {{Yandere}}: While all of the Kankers are qualifiable to be considered as such, Marie defines this Dere type the most among them, best shown in the Valentine's Day special (when Edd was exchanging love letters with May, albeit while under the romantic spell of the Sarah and Jimmy cupids).

The youngest of the Kankers. She has a crush on Ed, although Ed thinks GirlsHaveCooties.
----
* AffablyEvil: She may be violently obsessive over her respective crush like her other two sisters, but she's the kindest of the trio considering that she's very ditzy and goofy for a Kanker sister.
* AffectionateNickname: Was referred to obliviously by Edd as "Turtle Dove" in the Valentine's Day special (as both were hypnotized by the Sarah and Jimmy cupids).
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Is sometimes this to Lee and Marie, when they get annoyed by her stupidity.
-->'''May:''' Oh goodie goodie! We're in the same homeroom, guys!\
'''Lee:''' (''Lee punches May'') Who cares. When's the last time we went to class?\
'''Marie:''' She's dumber than a truck tire, I swear.\
'''May:''' (''racing after her sisters'') I love truck tires!
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: As well as being the youngest of her sisters, she's also the least mature of them, as she often behaves in a childlike manner, which is largely attributed to her stupidity (just like Ed).
* BadassAdorable: She's the least malicious of her sisters, albeit only relatively, and has occasionally shown a skillful amount of physical confrontation towards others.
* BearHug: In "A Twist of Ed", when Ed fails to notice her initially, she greets with a surprise hug from behind, right before dragging him to the ground and sitting on top of him, pinning him down.
-->'''May:''' A big hug for my honey!
* BelievingTheirOwnLies: Although all the Kankers are SelfProclaimedLoveInterest, May actually seems to believe that she has a real romantic relationship with Ed. This reaches the point that on Valentine's Day she decides to dedicate a letter to him, and starts to cry when he rejects her.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: While she tends to get the short end of the stick when fighting with her sisters, she can stand up for herself and is perfectly able to fight back. In "Ed Overboard", she has a violent tantrum that makes her sisters hide behind the sofa.
* BirdsOfAFeather: A one-sided example with her crush Ed. Although he's normally just as afraid of the Kankers as his fellow Eds are, there are surprising moments where he himself ''even lets'' May express her feelings towards him, albeit rather obliviously. Even in "Out With The Old, In With The Ed", where Edd and Eddy are in utter humiliation over having to play along with the public confessions for their "loves" on Marie and Lee respectively, Ed seems to be having fun "confessing" that May is his "girlfriend" while wearing her clothes, despite being scared of the Kankers to death just earlier (and later, as usual, by the episode's end).
* BreakTheCutie: In the Valentine's Day episode. She breaks down crying when Ed rejects her and her Valentine's card.
* ButtMonkey: Particularly when Lee and Marie gang up on her. However, she does dish it back.
* TheCameo: Makes a silent one in "Truth or Ed" where she's just sitting in class, making her the only Kanker who has appeared alone in an episode.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In season one she was portrayed as a mean-spirited girl like her sisters. In the other seasons she's portrayed as the ditzy and goofy Kanker we all know and love considering that her stupidity was played up and she became much dumber and goofier.
* ClosetGeek: In "Hanky Panky Hullabaloo", she shows a surprising knowledge of chemistry facts.
* ClothingSwitch: She does this to Jimmy at the end of "Ed Overboard" and with Ed in "Out with the Old, In with the Ed".
* CrackPairing: InUniverse with Edd in the Valentine's Day episode.
* CrushBlush: After Ed calls her pretty in "A Twist of Ed", her dorky, innocent nature really surfaces and she blushes.
* CuteBruiser: She is the youngest and cutest sister of the trio and usually resorts to violence along with her sisters.
* CuteButCacophonic: She's oddly (but still considerably) cute, and her SimpletonVoice is definitely cacophonic.
* CuteClumsyGirl: She's a bit of a klutz, like her male counterpart Ed.
* DayInTheLimelight: The Valentine’s Day special ''Hanky Panky Hullabaloo'' has her get much more focus than her sisters as little Cupids make her and most of the other kids fall in love with each other.
* TheDitz: May isn't very bright, being a DumbBlonde and all.
* DivergentCharacterEvolution: In the first two seasons she has (mostly) the same personality as her sisters and all three Kankers are more or less TheDividual. In later episodes she tends to be portrayed as the most naive (and, by extension, the most innocent) of the three sisters.
* DumbBlonde: May has blond hair and is TheDitz of the trio.
-->'''May:''' "What number do you dial for 911?!"
* DumbIsGood: To an extent. She's nicer than her sisters.
* DumbMuscle: Like Ed, May is the dumbest of her trio but is shown to be ''very'' strong, able to lift and destroy things way bigger than she is.
* EvilCounterpart: Other than being this to Ed (as the three Kankers are evil counterparts to the Eds), she's also one to Nazz. They are both cute, ditzy (but [[SmarterThanYouLook Smarter Than They Look]]) blonde girls who share the same voice actress. But while Nazz is a peaceful and mature TeamMom who is always willing to help the others, May is part of a TerribleTrio and usually seen tormenting people along with her sisters.
* EquippableAlly: Similarly to Ed for the, well, Eds, May has her uses has a tool her sisters can swing around sometimes, usually as a bludgeon or a battering ram. Special mention to ''"Once Upon an Ed"'' where the 'saw' that the Kankers use to cut into Jonny's bedroom is actually May's bucktooth if you pay attention to [[FreezeFrameBonus the one second this is happening]].
* {{Foil}}: To her favorite Ed, being, well, Ed. They’re both the dumb, emotional and naïve ones of their groups who tend to just follow the others around as extra muscle, but whereas Ed is a good kid whose loose grip on reality still has its moments of wisdom, May really is just flat-out dumb, she likes to be a bully and she lets her sisters do all the working and thinking.
* GagHaircut: More like "gag hairstyle" in the episode "Ed Overboard", where Lee and Marie give her a brutally ugly makeover that leaves her covered in sauce and puffs her hair out full of pickles and raw eggs.
* GeniusDitz: Despite being usually portrayed as a DumbBlonde, she is revealed to be good at chemistry in the Valentine's Day special (probably to make her and Edd look like BirdsOfAFeather).
* GoofyBuckteeth: She has a massive bucktooth and speaks with an extremely thick lisp because of it.
* HalfWittedHillbilly: Is easily the dumbest of the trio.
* HeelFaceTurn: She's not antagonistic at all in ''Hanky Panky Hullabaloo''. She's back to her usual antics of harassing the Eds in her following appearances.
* HiddenDepths: In the Valentine's Day special, she's revealed to be surprisingly well-read when it comes to chemistry. Somewhat subverted since she was under the influence of Cupid Sarah and Cupid Jimmy's [[LovePotion love arrows]], so it's possible she was magically granted an intelligence boost, or at least went out of her way to study to impress Edd.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: She likes to pick on people and enjoys being a menace with her sisters, but she seems to genuinely love Ed, to the point where a doll of him is the only thing that gets her to calm down a bit in the middle of a violent tantrum. In the Valentine's Day special she was willing to approach him in a nice way with a Valentine's card, and she was reduced to tears after he rejected her.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Tiny Girl to Ed's Huge Guy. She's the shortest and youngest Kanker and her crush is the tallest of the Eds.
* InnocentBetaBitch: Despite being part of a TerribleTrio, she's more of a naive follower to her older sisters and is often bullied by them. She's also the only one who gets a sympathetic ADayInTheLimelight.
* ALighterShadeOfBlack: Compared to her sisters, May usually gets a lot more sympathetic moments of the trio. The entire Valentine's special largely plays her as a victim, and she usually takes the brunt of abuse from her sisters, and [[FreudianExcuse is mainly implied she acts like them mainly to fit in.]]
* MsImagination: She dreams of being a movie star, adored by millions, in general she seems to be the more creative and imaginative of the sisters (much like Ed) and is the most enthusiastic about pretending to be a Pirate ("Avast Ye Eds") and a western cowgirl ("Know it All Ed").
* PairTheDumbOnes: May (the dumbest of the Kankers) has a crush on Ed (the dumbest of the Eds) and in the Eds/Kankers interactions, she's usually going for him.
* PintsizedPowerhouse: She carries an oven without breaking a sweat in "A Fistful of Ed" and is seen being able to carry Ed easily. Whenever she's pissed off, her sisters won't even bother to calm her down or beat her up, instead having to ''hide'' from her.
* SexualEuphemism: Downplayed in "A Twist of Ed", with it being more of a "kissing euphemism". After she pins down Ed and sits on top of him, preparing to kiss him, she tells him "Put those lips together and make like a fish!" before leaning in and making kissy faces at him. This is clearly her way of flirting with Ed, inviting her "boyfriend" to kiss her back and trying to be as "romantic" as possible while. But in the previous scene her sister Marie basically did the same thing with Double D simply by telling him to "pucker up". Her butchered euphemism doesn't do anything to make Ed any less terrified anyway, with him staring at her puckered lips in horror as she inches closer to him and screams "[[GirlsHaveCooties Girl Germs!]]"
* SickeninglySweethearts: With Edd in the Valentine's Day episode. She calls him "Lambchop".
* SimpletonVoice: Like Ed, she speaks in an annoying "dumb" voice with a very thick lisp.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: May is head over heels for Ed, who is very kindhearted and optimistic, and has willingly shown her affections for him in the Valentines' Day special.
* SmarterThanYouLook: Again, according to the Valentine's Day special, as seen in GeniusDitz.
* StrongerThanTheyLook: Despite her being the youngest and shortest of the Kankers, May has shown a surprising amount of strength that rivals that of Ed several times. She has beaten up both of her sisters several times when pushed too far by them, even tossing Marie into a trailer once to stop her from hogging all the Eds. May has even managed to ''overpower Ed himself'' a few times, including being able to drag him across a room, pin him to the floor and restrain him, and even pick him up off the ground and rock him in her arms. While part of this could be explained as Ed [[WouldntHitAGirl not being allowed to hit girls]] to defend himself, it doesn't do much to downplay May's show of strength.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Downplayed. While she is as much of a bully as her two sisters, May is the only member of the trio whose feelings for the matching Ed seem genuine, and not mere lust/desire for dominance, as she is reduced to a crying mess at the prospect of Ed not loving her back.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: She's a brutish and aggressive {{Ladette}} like her sisters, is generally unladylike ("I love truck tires!"), wears boyish clothes, and has no problem fighting and using her physical strength, much more so than her male counterpart [[GentleGiant Ed]]. However, she's also more naïve, sensitive, and ProneToTears than her sisters, has shown a genuinely romantic side on occasion, and and is the only Kanker with long hair.
* TookALevelInDumbass: While she was never of Edd-level intelligence, May became a lot less intelligent as the show went on, to becoming the female version of Ed ([[SincerityMode how fitting]]), though not ''quite'' reaching Ed's level of stupidity.
* WhiteSheep: Of the emotional variety. While still cruel like her sisters, she never really goes out her way to be physically abusive like they do, and for the most part her affection for Ed comes off as the most overtly genuine.
