!!Time Patrol
[[folder:In General]]
[[quoteright:150:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tplogo.png]]
The Time Patrol is a group of warriors gathered by Future Trunks in Age 850 to help stop the Time Breakers and prevent Mira from interfering with time. The team is under the command of the Supreme Kai of Time, and is led by Xeno Trunks. They are primarily based in Toki Toki City.
----
* AmbiguouslyEvil: The patrollers who are on the side of Freeza during the Siege, do they do it because they are infiltrated or did they decide to betray the patrol?
* BadassArmy: The Time Patrol is an army made up of different races that are dedicated to fighting against many villains that threaten the timeline. If the trailer to Ultra Pack 1 is anything to go by, the Time Patrol has over ''10,000'' Patrollers in their ranks.
* BizarreSexualDimorphism: Male Majins take after Majin Buu, having large, rotund builds and silly-looking faces. Female Majins, on the other hand, look more like female versions of Super Buu, having slim figures and more human-like faces.
* CloseEnoughTimeline: How they operate. As long as the same outcome — the villains being defeated — takes place in the end, it's okay if events play out a little differently, and if a Patroller has to pop in to help guide them along. It's explained in the sequel that [[spoiler:the little changes go away when Chronoa puts all the scrolls together]].
* FantasticRacism: If the player chooses a Frieza race character, they'll be subject to many heroes (and occasional villains) mistaking you for Frieza or voicing distrust in you for your appearance.
* OptionalBoss: In ''Xenoverse 2'', groups of fellow Time Patrollers appear as optional fights in many Parallel Quests, and are usually much stronger than the enemies of the mission. Defeating them can give you a Dragon Ball.
* PunchClockVillain: Some of them have to infiltrate evil organizations like Frieza's army.
* TimePolice: A role that the Supreme Kai of Time essentially blackmailed Trunks into, the Time Patrol monitors time and checks for any disturbances that they need to fix.
* VagueAge: The fact that many Time Patrollers attend Orange Star High School implies the Time Patrollers are high schoolers in their late teens at least (and Gotenks has expressed annoyance that he's too young to join, implying a firm age requirment) That many of the non-Earthling Patrollers' races age differently from humans makes their ages difficult to determine, though.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Playable characters/Future Warriors]]
* AdaptationalBadass:
** Earthling and Namekian [[note]]with Piccolo being a NOTED exception, and he's technically a {{fusion|Dance}} of two (later three) exceptional Namekians, while still being WeakButSkilled compared to late-series Goku and Vegeta.[[/note]] characters are nowhere near as powerful as Saiyans, Frieza's race, or Majins in the series proper. That said, either Future Warrior (who can take on the likes of Beerus) can be either Earthling or Namekian. {{Lampshade|Hanging}}d if you play an Earthling in ''2'', as several characters question just how an Earthling of all species is so powerful.
** The Majin race in the backstory for ''Online'' is said to have slowly diluted their power as the generations went on (until your typical Majin was no more stronger than a typical Earthling or Namekian). Here, like Earthlings and Namekians, they're able to go toe to toe with Beerus.
** In the online game, the time patrollers could only defeat the enemies of the past working as a team, in this version the patroller called Ace can do it by himself.
* BadassArmy: If you are playing multiplayer. In the second game, a city can host up to 300 players.
* MasterApprenticeChain: Depending on the master, you can make a build-up of chain of masters. Such as:
** Whis --> Beerus --> You
** Whis --> Vegeta --> Present Trunks (as Gotenks) --> You
** Whis --> Goku --> Goten (as Gotenks) --> You
** Goku --> Gohan (and Videl) --> Goten (as Gotenks) and Pan --> You
** Piccolo --> Gohan (and Videl) --> Goten (as Gotenks) and Pan --> You
* TerminatorTwosome: The Time Patrol, specifically Trunks and the Future Warrior, make up one half of this trope.
* TwoGirlsAndAGuy: Trunks, the Future Warrior, and Supreme Kai of Time have this dynamic if the Patroller is female.
* TwoGuysAndAGirl: Trunks, The Future Warrior, and Supreme Kai of Time have this dynamic if the Patroller is male.

[[CanonName Ace]], the Future Warrior, is the custom character used by the player, and is essentially their avatar throughout the game's adventures, and is the main character of the first game. Fully customizable, they ally with Trunks and the Time Patrol after being summoned to the Toki Toki World by Shenron.
----
* {{Acrofatic}}: If the player chooses a Male Majin, they may be chunky and heavyset, but they can tangle with the best and most agile fighters as if it was nothing.
* ActionGirl: If the player chooses to be a female, the amount of asskicking their avatar does qualifies her as the strongest woman in all creation.
* AirplaneArms: Majin characters run this way.
* AllYourPowersCombined: The Future Warrior can use almost every given ability in the game, either by earning them from Parallel Quests, or training under characters from the canon series to acquire their teachings and moves. They can also combine them in any set they wish, wielding the likes of Death Beam alongside the Spirit Bomb.
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Created characters can have any color skin tone.
* AmazonBrigade: The Future Warrior, if they're female and have other women on their team during missions.
* AnimeHair: The choices for the Earthling and Saiyan characters. Some iconic hairstyles are amongst them, such as Gohan's, which the official art uses.
* TheApprentice: The Future Warrior can be trained by a ''myriad'' of canon characters, learning their moves. And there's no limit to how many masters the Future Warrior have, amassing a variety of skills from heroes, villains, mortals, and gods alike.
* ArchEnemy: To Mira until all the way to alternate Buu Saga. Demigra by the time of alternate [[spoiler:Battle of Gods]] and Demigra Saga.
* ArtificialStupidity: In ''Xenoverse'', your character is potentially dangerous if you're offline and will be brutal based on your playstyle as an enemy AI to another player. In ''Xenoverse 2'', well, they're also hit hard with this as an ally AI.
* BadassAdorable: If they're designed with cuteness in mind.
* BadassCape: They can wear one, and the official Future Warrior wears Tien's cape from the Buu Saga.
* BashBrothers: You often team up with one or more warriors during the story to kick some asses. Most notably with Goku, as he's a major character throughout the story and you very often appear on times where Goku is fighting the villains. In the normal ending, you and Goku defeat the final boss together. Another notable one is with [=SSJ4 Gogeta=] in the second ''GT'' DLC pack, where you and Gogeta form the "ultimate tag team" to battle [[spoiler:Baby, Super 17 and Omega Shenron]] at the same time.
* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: Averted. Female Future Heroes can get just as scuffed and bruised as the male characters.
* BerserkButton: Like with the Z-Fighters, hurting a good friend of the Future Warrior is asking to die. So when Trunks comes under fire, the Future Warrior is both genuinely concerned for Trunks - and ''pissed as hell'' with those in their way.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: With Abridged!Nappa being the male player's voice if they so choose, it's nearly impossible to believe they are a warrior capable of defeating the likes of Cell and Frieza and tangling with ''Lord Beerus'' (at a fraction of his power).
* BigDamnHeroes:
** The Future Warrior saves Gohan from being killed by Raditz.
** The Future Warrior kicks Mister Satan away to protect him from Cell.
** The Future Warrior saves [=SSJ3=] Goku from his struggle against [[spoiler:the three Fat Buus]].
** This becomes their regular feat in defense of their successor, come ''Xenoverse 2''.
* BigEater: Gets ecstatic at the Supreme Kai of Time's great feast she prepared for him/her. At least until they find out that she's a LethalChef.
* BlobMonster: Essentially what the Future Warrior is if they are a Majin, though they don't demonstrate all the abilities Buu himself had.
* BloodKnight: As seen in the cutscenes, no matter what race you're playing as, the Future Warrior ''loves'' a good fight. As a Saiyan or a Majin, it makes sense, but it certainly makes Namekian Future Warriors an oddity among their race.
* BoringButPractical: The Unlock Potential transformation, as far as it goes. Appearance wise, it's just an aura change and a slight glow, but for a ki drain less than Gohan's own Potential Unleashed, the power increase is ''phenomenal''. It can also be used by every race, ''ki'' can be regenerated through physical blows, making the technique terrifying when used by melee sets, and it can be combined with several Z-Souls, such as "Guess we should fuse into Vegito" and reinforcement skills for '''devastating''' results.
* CallingYourAttacks: All character voices will call their attacks, a staple in DBZ games. Abridged!Nappa's voice takes full advantage of this and pokes fun at the technique names with every usage.
* CanonName: While the trope is {{subverted|Trope}} in the sense that anyone can decide what the "real" name of the warrior is in the first game and can make it stick in the second game with an old save file, the default name for the Saiyan Warrior shown in promotional materials is "Ace" if such a save file isn't present.
* CameBackStrong: In scenarios that allow it, a Saiyan Future Warrior gains a Zenkai when they're defeated and revived, just like in canon.
* TheChosenOne: Remember, Trunks gathered the Dragon Balls and specifically wished for the right warrior for the job of fixing the already concerning Time Crisis, and Shenron chose Ace.
* CriticalStatusBuff: One of the many perks of being a Saiyan Future Warrior is the status buffs in various situations. When a Saiyan's health gets low, all stats receive a boost, granting them enhanced power that persists even if the Saiyan heals themselves.
* CombatPragmatist: The Future Warrior can fight as dirty as the game will allow; [[BlindedByTheLight stunning enemies with Solar Flare]], [[TransformationRay turn people into candy]], or attack them while they're talking with their allies. In one of the cutscenes, the Future Warrior even fires [[EyeScream two ki blasts into Vegeta's eyes]] when he's a Great Ape. You can even get Ginyu's body theft ability, and your health bars do swap. Let your foe beat you up, charging your Ki, switch bodies with that ki, smack them into the dirt.
* CompetitiveBalance: Each racial class is good at specific things.
* CuteMonsterGirl: The female Majins, which can be very cute, slender and feminine.
* TheDreaded:
** If the Future Warrior is of Frieza's Clan nearly everyone will take note of it. Reactions range from enthusiasm to outright fear, but unlike the other races almost no one dismisses the threat you pose.
** [[spoiler:Come the second game, the Future Warrior has garnered ''quite'' the massive and legendary reputation among both the Time Patrol and the Gods alike for saving existence from Demigra. They are the absolute ''last person'' the new Time Breakers want to get involved this time around.]]
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: Late in the game's story, the Future Warrior teams up with Trunks to spar against Beerus, the God of Destruction, and Whis...and they win! Battles with Beerus and Whis, as well as against Goku in his Super Saiyan God form, also feature in Parallel Quests. Justified, as those two don't fight at their full power, and later train Future Warrior.
* DubNameChange: "Mirai Senshi" is the official Japanese term, which means Future Warrior. In the English localization, the Future Warrior is credited as "Time Patroller".
* {{Expy}}:
** Of Future Trunks. The official representation of the Future Warrior even portrays them with similar articles of clothing worn by Trunks himself, down to the jacket, undershirt (different colour), pants and boots. The premise of the Future Warrior is even the same; a warrior who returns from the past to save the Z-Fighters from impending future peril. To push the envelope further, they can also be a Saiyan.
** This depiction also [[https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/40/CronoToriyamadesign.jpg/210px-CronoToriyamadesign.jpg bears an uncanny resemblance]] to Crono of ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger'', another time traveler designed by Akira Toriyama.
** Even the official promo arts of other options have shades of this. The Earthlings look like Bulma, and Goku with purple hair. The Namekian looks like Piccolo...or any other Namekian, actually...the Male Majin looks like Majin Buu, the female has shades of Kid Buu, the female Saiyan resembles a red-headed Videl with Android 18's eyes, and the male Saiyan looks like Android 16. The Future Warriors seen in the promotional art are also based off of the default characters in ''VideoGame/DragonBallHeroes''.
* EleventhHourRanger: Thanks to his/her time travel, The Z warriors only see the warrior only when the battle starts and when it ends, making her/him this to the Z warriors.
* EnemyMine: Kind of. With Ginyu, Frieza and Cell, since they offer to be your mentor. Or, if you do Parallel Quests while on the Villains side.
* FaceOfAThug: You can customize your character to make them look like a villain, but they are on the good side and do a lot of heroic stuff.
* FragileSpeedster: Frieza Clan Warriors are some of the fastest characters in the game and gain an additional speed boost when their health falls below 50%. Their Ki attack is replaced with a stun version that allows for a hit-and-run strategy to be much easier. However, their base health is very low, making them easier to take down compared to anyone else. (Ironic, given [[MadeOfIron their in-series progenitor's reputation for surviving seemingly-lethal injuries]].)
* FreakyFridayFlip: With Ginyu, where the Future Warrior accidentally switches places with him because of Jeice's stupidity. It can be ''invoked'' if the player uses the technique themselves after training with Ginyu.
* GirlishPigtails: The female Time Patroller can wear her hair (or antennae) in this style.
* GlassCannon: Saiyans have low health but high attack, can turn [[GoldenSuperMode Super Saiyan]], and get stronger when they are revived.
* GoldenSuperMode: A Saiyan Future Warrior can become a Super Saiyan. The official Future Warrior, who is a Saiyan, can use this form.
* HelloInsertNameHere: The player can give their character any game they wish, but according to ''Xenoverse 2'', the official Future Warrior's real name is Ace.
* TheHero: Depending on how the player plays their character they may be this, an AntiHero or a NominalHero. While the Future Warrior is trying to fix the main timelines, they ''can'' be trained by the villains, side with the villains on Parallel Quests, and even become a HeroKiller themselves. However heroic they are in their off hours is up to the player's interpretation.
* HeroicMime: Played with. The Future Warriors have voices (in fact, they can be chosen from a voice list), and speak with grunts in battle and can shout out attack names like the Kamehameha [[spoiler:(not to mention Captain Ginyu speaks in their body after body changing with the Future Warrior)]]. But in cutscenes, all of their dialogue is given through pantomime; they don't speak a word [[spoiler:(even while in Captain Ginyu's body)]].
* HeroKiller: Essentially the point of ''several'' Parallel Quests is to join the villains and defeat the heroes. While they aren't canon to the timeline (essentially being 'Time Fragments'), the Future Warrior will do a ''lot'' of Hero Killing.
* HeroicSecondWind: [[spoiler:If you defeat Demigra in his Final Form before [=SSJ3=] Goku shows up to help you, you unlock the special ending. It is similar like to the regular ending and starts almost the exact same way, but the difference is that you alone fires a Kamehameha against Demigra's final attack. Instead of you and Goku defeating him during the attack struggle, the spirits of Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo and Krillin from different eras give you the energy to defeat the villain.]]
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Male Future Warriors, with Time Patrol Trunks.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Comes off this way a bit during a part of the story where the Future Warrior accepts the ObviouslyEvil Demigra's offer to go to the distortion that is putting Time Patrol Trunks in danger, without realizing that Demigra put a seal on their hand which later turns out to be a bomb. That said, the Future Warrior is clearly extremely wary of Demigra the entire time and only goes through with it because they didn't have a choice, as Demigra points out.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl:
** Almost all the default male heroes are a head taller than the female ones. And mentors such as Piccolo, Ginyu and Cell have this same dynamic with female (or modified male) heroes.
** Taken to an absurd degree with Broly, who is so huge compared to the smaller female character models that you actually have to pan the camera up to see his head.
* JackOfAllStats: Earthlings have balanced stats for both offense and defense. Ki energy refills automatically over time and attack power rises when maxed.
* KamehameHadouken: Duh! It's a ''Dragon Ball'' game. You can learn any ki blast attack, including the Kamehameha. In the story, the Future Warrior does know how to fire a Kamehameha. If you unlock the special ending, [[spoiler:they create, with the help of Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo and Krillin, the Z-Spirit Kamehameha. Unfortunately, it is not an available skill]].
* LegendaryInTheSequel: In ''Xenoverse 2'', Future Warrior is now hailed as a legendary elite time patroller due to his efforts in stopping Demigra, where Future Warrior even has a holographic monument in their honor. Future Warrior also appears as a NPC who can come to the ''Xenoverse 2'' Future Warrior's aid.
* LevelGrinding: This character takes on every villain from the original series in succession, and even eventually tangles with ''Lord Beerus'' of all people, despite not being a God. To say they've accomplished this is unnecessary by the end of the game, and that's ''without'' measuring stats and EXP.
* LittleMissBadass: The player can choose to play this way if the avatar is short enough.
* LightningBruiser: The Future Warrior, upon being maxed out is a force to be reckoned with both in speed and strength. Even a [[GlassCannon Saiyan]] Future Warrior can become this if they possess a [[SuperMode Super Saiyan]] form, which reduces the amount of damage you take from everything while allowing you to hit like a yellow glowing asteroid.
* {{Malaproper}}: Using Voice 08 let's the male character go full on Abridged!Nappa, which causes him to make fun of the technique names and the like.
-->''"Ten to the Kamehame-HO!"''
* MathematiciansAnswer: What the Future Warrior gives when [[spoiler:Future Trunks asks who they are]].
-->[[spoiler:'''Future Trunks:''']] [[spoiler:"So I'll know...someday? [[SarcasmMode That's not cryptic.]]"]]
* MeaningfulName: Ace is TheAce within the story, with even Earthling and Namekian versions being able to take on the likes of Beerus. Also, in ''Xenoverse 2'', [[spoiler:Ace is Towa's Ace in the Hole when it comes to BrainwashedAndCrazy minions]].
* MightyGlacier: Majins has high defense, but slow stamina recovery. When stamina is maxed, less damage is received.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: The Future Warrior can be as tall and buff as the options allow them to be, or small and waifish. Either way, they can be built to deal oodles of physical damage.
* NotSoStoic: They [[BloodKnight love the hell out of a good fight,]] and don't hesitate to demonstrate anger in a serious situation.
* OddNameOut: According to the default version in ''Xenoverse 2'', this dude's a Saiyan that's canonically named Ace. Unless Ace was raised on Earth, Ace isn't really a Saiyan-y name (no real vegetable pun there).
* OhCrap: When Trunks tells them that the Supreme Kai of Time is a LethalChef, they get this reaction.
* OneGenderRace: Namekians and Frieza race heroes can only be male.
* OneManArmy: Taking on the likes of Saibamen hordes, Frieza's soldiers, and other groups of enemies with relatively no help, the Future Warrior can take on solo or groups without worry.
* PalsWithJesus: With the Supreme Kai of Time, and should you mentor under him, ''Beerus''.
* PlatonicLifePartners: As the female Future Warrior with, again, Time Patrol Trunks.
* PhysicalGod: Taken to the literal Dragon Ball extreme. When the Future Warrior trains with Beerus, he teaches them how to use 'godly energy', more than likely so they're capable of successfully using his attacks. The Future Warrior literally steps over the threshold into Godhood.
* PowerCopying: Is incredibly skilled with Dragon Ball's brand called Mimicry, it's how WordOfGod says they're able to learn other fighter's techniques. Jaco's kind of freaked out by it.
* PowerCreepPowerSeep: Story wise, you go from being at least an even match with Super Buu to needing a three way tag team on Broly. Gameplay wise, you can go toe to toe with the God of Destruction, but have trouble against a few measly Super Saiyans.
* PrehensileTail: Possessed and ''weaponized'' by Frost Demons.
* PsychopathicManchild: If the player uses Abridged!Nappa's voice for their male character, he definitely comes off this way.
* PullingThemselvesTogether: While they can't absorb other characters, they can still learn the Majin-class exclusive Ill Bomber skill from Super Buu, which allows them to blow themselves up and reform from pieces of liquid. Though the lack of absorption techniques is pretty moot seeing as Super Buu does not absorb Gotenks and/or Gohan at any point in the story.
* RealityWarper: Some abilities, such as [[TransformationRay Candy Beam]] and [[TimeStandsStill Time Control]], qualify him/her as this.
* RetGone: [[spoiler:They are in danger of this after Towa goes back in time to destroy Shenron. The second protagonist has to stop Towa from doing so.]]
* RogueProtagonist: [[spoiler:Unwillingly, but you fight against them in ''2'' because they were BrainwashedAndCrazy.]]
* RubberMan: Or Rubber Woman, depending on the chosen gender, if the Future Hero is a Majin.
* SaveTheVillain:
** The Future Warrior stops Krillin from killing Vegeta.
** The Future Warrior has to stop Towa and Mira from killing Fat Buu (and Goku).
** Any mission that has the Future Warrior siding with the villain.
* SlasherSmile:
** When the Future Warrior performs Frieza's Supernova, they giggle and do the same smile like Frieza, when he destroyed Planet Vegeta.
** A Saiyan Future Warrior goes from DeathGlare to SlasherSmile at the very start of a versus match.
* StatuesqueStunner: At max height, your female characters tower over most of the rest of the cast.
* TheStoic: Usually their base expression, with perhaps a little TranquilFury depending on the face you've chosen.
* StoryBreakerPower: ''You'' if you replay through earlier sagas while leveled up enough. Saibamen attack? Nothing like Planet Burst. The Ginyu Force is attacking? [[CurbStompBattle Turn Super Saiyan 2 and beat them senseless.]]
* SmugSuper: If you chose to take the "taunt the enemy before kicking their ass" set of skills.
* SuperMode: The Future Warrior has access to several. With the exception of one transformation, you don't gain ki with basic attacks or by getting hit when transformed, but you can charge up your ki if you have a required skill.
** Kaio-ken and its stronger variations (3x and 20x) can be used by every race. They increase your power, but they drain your stamina. With each stronger Kaio-ken, the stamina drain gets quicker. All Kaio-ken transformations are Super Moves.
** Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 are available for Saiyans. They not only increase your power, they allow you to use any Super and Ultimate Move for free. Those two transformations are Ultimate Moves themselves. The transformations drain your ki, and the stronger the transformation, the higher the ki drain. Then, there are other variations called Super Vegeta and Super Vegeta 2, which are basically the same transformations like Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2, the difference being that the Vegeta versions give more bonus for your Ki Blast Super/Ultimates rather than for Strike Supers and basic attacks, which is reversed with the regular versions.
** Unlocked Potential is another transformation available for all races. The ki drain is very low, but the increase of power is immense, but the requirement for unlocking this transformation is ForcedLevelGrinding, as you first gets the transformation when you are at least level 93. It's also an Ultimate Move like the Super Saiyan or Super Vegeta transformations. Unlike the other transformations, you ''do'' gain ki when hitting your opponent with basic melee attacks or getting hit, which makes it much easier to maintain this form than the other transformations.
* StoneWall: Namekians have high defense and health. Furthermore, they regenerate health, and at a quicker rate when they are at low health. Their attack power is rather low.
* TalkingIsAFreeAction: Averted entirely, should the player choose to. In their first fight against Mira, he and Towa spend time talking when the battle first begins. [[CombatPragmatist The Future Warrior can use this time to wail on Mira without him fighting back.]]
* TranquilFury: As seen a couple of times, instead of the Future Warrior losing their cool when they lose their temper, instead they mostly retain it enough to be at least somewhat controlled, calm and utterly terrifying when they go off.
* TeleportSpam: The Future Warrior, with Instant Transmission or Kai Kai, can fight like this and put [[Manga/{{Naruto}} Minato Namikaze]] to shame with just how much they'll never stay in one place. Instant Transmission and Kai Kai also do not use ki or stamina, making them perfect for getting around the field to allies and enemies within seconds. [[FlashStep Afterimage Strike]] is this without actually teleporting.
* TerminatorTwosome: The good half of the twosome, alongside Trunks.
* TimeToUnlockMoreTruePotential: In the third DLC Pack, the Elder Kai can unlock the Future Warrior's Potential in the same way he unlocked Gohan's. However, you need to be at least level 80 first, so the Elder Kai will train you. And then, you need to be at least level 93, so he will unlock your potential.
* TokenGoodTeammate: One of the few reasons why the Future Warrior can be either a Saiyan or one of Frieza's clan (though the former could be in it to [[BloodKnight fight strong opponents]]), with almost everyone of either race being evil, a ruthless BloodKnight, or both. Subverted with the Majins, as Buu starts that race long after he turns good. Also, this counts if you're siding with the villains in any Parallel Quest.
* TookALevelInBadass: Goes from hardly being able to kill Mira's boredom while fighting him to being strong enough to impress Beerus.
* TransformationRay: As a Majin, the Future Warrior can use the Majin-exclusive "Candy Beam" to turn their enemies into jawbreakers for a short period of time.
* VirtualPaperDoll: To an extreme degree, in fact. Nearly everything about the future warrior, down to their race, hair, nose, ''skin colour'', is customizable. Nearly no future warrior will look like another.
* WorthyOpponent: Mira acknowledges the player as his rival, according to Towa, as all the strong warriors in the future are dead. Beerus also starts seeing them as this when they match him blow for blow against his rage-fuelled assault over pudding while others were falling to his wrath left right and center. If the player completes Vegeta's training, he also acknowledges them no longer as his student, but as a fully-fledged fighter worthy of his time.
-->"''That's enough. You pass. I, Vegeta, accept you as a warrior.''"\
"''This is no longer a training exercise! This is a battle between seasoned warriors!''"
* WhiteSheep: A "Frieza Race" Future Warrior is a direct relative of Frieza. It gives the implication that the Future Warrior is the one good egg of the family. This also counts for a Saiyan Future Warrior, considering almost every Saiyan is a ChaoticEvil BloodKnight.
* TheWorfEffect: No matter how high you leveled up your character, [[spoiler:they become {{Mind Control}}led by Mira and Towa off-screen. They will also become an opponent in the second game, forcing their successor to defeat them back to normal]]. Even moreso in DLC Pack 6 where [[spoiler:they are frozen solid by Dabura]].
* WorldsStrongestMan: Or Woman depending on the player's choice of gender. With time, the player's character can defeat the likes of Frieza, Cell, Buu, and even Beerus, as well as heroes such as Goku and Vegeta themselves.

[[CanonName Mee]], the second Time Patroller and the main hero of ''VideoGame/DragonBallXenoverse2''. After being mentored by Old Kai, The second Time Patroller is hand-picked by the Supreme Kai of Time, and helps them become a hero in their own right alongside the first protagonist.
----
* TheAce: On top of their class, personally chosen by the Supreme Kai of Time to deal with disturbances with the main timeline, fought every EvilOverlord, PhysicalGods (one being an Angel), galactic space pirates, a ''self-promoted'' space pirate, protector of Namekians, and is the one who [[spoiler:saves the current timeline from OneWingedAngel Mira]]. When Whis's training is completed, he claims that their level of raw natural talent puts his other students -- that is, ''Goku and Vegeta'' -- to shame. It’s even more hammered in with the fights with [[spoiler:corrupted Fusion Zamasu and Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku, [[DefeatingTheUndefeatable where you fight both at the apex of their power and stop them dead in their tracks, the former requiring a divine fusion to even equal him and the latter explicitly being beyond a mortal stronger than Destroyer Gods.]]]] In Frieza's spaceship missions, you can rank up to be Frieza's right hand man (or if you're his race even overthrown him) and be popular with his minions at the same time.
* AllLovingHero:
** Any Earthling Future Warrior with the Nimbus as their SuperMode, considering the Flying Nimbus only lets pure-hearted beings ride it.
** Guru's power boost -- which can be achieved by any character -- also has him note that he senses a powerful goodness in the character's heart.
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: Within the Frieza's Spaceship time rift, the Time Patroller rises through the ranks of the Frieza Force by constantly overpowering their superiors. One of Frieza's race can even seize command of the organization by defeating Frieza himself (or Cooler, if the alternate path is taken).
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: The Namekian Time Patroller now has the ability to become giant.
* BeenThereShapedHistory: [[spoiler:When Towa attempts to make the original Time Patroller RetGone by killing Shenron when Trunks would've summoned them, the second Patroller goes back in time to stop her. After the battle, Trunks is inspired by the Patroller to wish for a powerful ally to help him protect history, [[StableTimeLoop setting into motion the events of the first game]].]]
* BigDamnHeroes: Just like their predecessor. Moreso [[spoiler:when you go back ''[[WhereItAllBegan to the beginning of the first game]]'' to prevent Towa from killing Shenron before he can summon the original Future Warrior]].
* CanonName: While the trope is {{subverted|Trope}} in the sense that the player decides what the "real" name of the warrior is, the name given to this warrior's default appearance as an enemy in the Time Patroller Takedown raid quest is "Mee".
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: You wouldn't think this trope would apply to a series based around making your own custom character, but it is there. Whereas the previous Time Patroller was essentially TheChosenOne, summoned by Shenron himself to protect the timeline, this one is simply a rank-and-file Time Patrol recruit, "chosen" in that it's still a god doing the choosing, but in the more mundane sense of being top of their class and earning more responsibility as a result.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: This Time Patroller's track record is even better with this. Along with the usual roster, they've gone toe-to-toe with Beerus at full strength, and defeated [[spoiler:a Time Egg-empowered Mira]], Hit, Goku Black, Future Zamasu, and Fusion Zamasu, alongside [[spoiler:Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku and Jiren the Gray]].
* EmotionlessGirl: A female Time Patroller with English voice #11 never raises her voice much beyond a flat, bored tone, [[DullSurprise even when crying out in pain]], and calls her attacks in the most unenthusiastic manner possible. The Japanese voice has the similar effect, but it's not nearly as monotone as the English one.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: A Saiyan Future Warrior is perfectly capable of throwing down with some of the most troublesome foes of Dragon Ball history. Then they activate their Super Saiyan form and proceed to curb stomp their opponents.
* GoldenSuperMode: Saiyan characters retain the ability to go Super Saiyan, and the Frieza race now have their own golden form similar to Frieza in ''Resurrection 'F'''.
* HeroicMime: Played with to a greater degree. Like their predecessor, they are shown talking in cutscenes, but no dialogue is heard. When using emotes, they are far more vocal than the first, and ''actually'' shouts the Kamehameha instead of staying silent when you beat the final boss.
* LightningBruiser: Even moreso than the previous Future Warrior, as they can clash with opponents that put their predecessor in his place, and is fast enough to [[spoiler:[[BeyondTheImpossible outpace and overwhelm the automatic defensive capabilities of Goku in his Ultra Instinct state]]]].
* LongRangeFighter:
** A Frieza Race Time Patroller in Golden Form receives great boosts to the power of both regular ki blasts and ki blast supers, the ability to fire a Death Beam with charged shots, and increased movement speed to make keeping the enemy at a distance easier. Physical combos and strike supers, on the other hand, are completely unaffected by the transformation.
** The "Super Vegeta" transformation for Saiyans enhances the strength of ki blast supers, as opposed to the standard "Super Saiyan" transformation which enhances melee supers.
** Downplayed with any of the female Time Patrollers of races that can have female members (Saiyan, Earthling and Majin). They get natural boosts to their ki blasts, but have weaker strike attack power than their male counterparts.
* NiceGuy: Get through most of the Frieza faction quests and the soldiers will start commenting how odd it is for someone with as many promotions as you to be getting so many rumors, and not one of those rumors being bad. For the [[BadBoss Frieza Force]], that's saying something.
* OneWingedAngel: Majins can gain the ability to enter a purified form, effectively turning into Kid Buu.
* PassingTheTorch: [[spoiler:With the first ''Xenoverse'' character compromised (but not dead, only lost consciousness), they are the ones to stop Mira and Towa.]]
* PhysicalGod: It’s outright stated by Future Zamasu when you complete their initiation that they possess God Energy, and that’s not getting into the amount of techniques and superpowers they can acquire as well as the fact they can fight and [[DefeatingTheUndefeatable defeat adversaries that would give even Goku and Vegeta trouble.]] Come DLC 6 and they unambiguously step into godhood territory with the inclusion of Super Saiyan Blue; well AFTER the Time Patroller was established to be at least on par with even [[StoryBreakerPower Fused Zamasu]].
* PowerMakesYourHairGrow: Unlike the first game, a Saiyan Time Patroller can ascend as far as Super Saiyan 3, growing the wild mane characteristic of the form.
* PowerCopying: Like their predecessor, they possess the ability to mimic and learn their foes’ attacks, but [[SuperpowerLottery even better.]]
* RageBreakingPoint:
** Instead of getting the Super Saiyan transformation in a Parallel Quest lucky dip, a Saiyan Time Patroller is forced to transform via beatdown from [[spoiler:Goku and Vegeta]] in a special mission. They keep the skill afterwards.
** The same goes for the Turn Golden transformation for a Frieza Race Time Patroller, but with [[spoiler:Golden Frieza and Metal Cooler]].
* RogueProtagonist: [[spoiler:They very briefly take up this role if they decide to disobey Elder Kai's order to capture Fu in DLC Pack 6 and instead end up protecting Fu from Goku when Elder Kai sent him over to attack Fu.]]
* [[RubberMan Rubber Man/Rubber Woman]]: If the Future Warrior is a Majin.
* SilentProtagonist: Says nothing in the cutscenes [[spoiler:until the very end, when they [[CallingYourAttacks call out their Kamehameha or Dragon Fist]]]].
** Downplayed in-game, as they can call their attacks during a mission/[=PQ=], and have voice lines when performing certain emotes in town.
* SlasherSmile: Much like the first Future Warrior, a Saiyan Time Patroller goes from DeathGlare to SlasherSmile at the very start of a versus match.
* SuperiorSuccessor: Unlike their predecessor, their techniques are much more vast and potent in scope, they possess much better control over their Super Saiyan forms, can access Super Saiyan 3 and can even go Super Saiyan Blue. [[spoiler:And they manage to (with a little outside help courtesy of Super Saiyan Blue Goku) permanently put down Mira after he’s powered up from absorbing a Time Egg.]]
* ShowyInvincibleHero: Any race of Time Patroller can be this with the right skills, but the Majins take the cake, especially when in Purification mode. In addition to Kid Buu's extremely flashy and off-the-wall techniques, they gain a special block that makes them completely invulnerable to everything in the game from regular melee attacks to the strongest ultimate attacks. A close second to the Majins are the Frieza Race, who have a combo where they [[InvokedTrope invoke]] an OffhandBackhand, in addition to overall very confident animations based on Frieza's own smug mannerisms.
* TheStoic: They aren’t the most emotive, and like the former it can cross into TranquilFury depending on the face you choose.
* StoryBreakerPower: If you play early missions after levelling up at least almost-fully, then everybody you fight will '''learn''' the definition of the phrase CurbStompBattle. [[spoiler:That's not even getting into the story mode and Parallel Quests, where several times they're pitted against foes that gave Goku and Vegeta more trouble than ever, most notably [[DefeatingTheUndefeatable fighting Half Corrupted Fusion Zamasu to a dead standstill]] ''alone'' for a brief time, facing every villain from Z to Super/GT in succession and stomping them all, going toe to toe with [[WorldsStrongestMan Jiren]], and even taking down [[BeyondTheImpossible Goku with the completed Ultra Instinct.]] Pretty impressive for a Saiyan capable of going Blue, but nothing short of mind-boggling if the TP were say, an Earthling.]]
* SpacePirates: A self-promoted one in Frieza Force. As any other race, they go through several ranks until they become TheDragon (a heroic version) to either Frieza or Cooler. If they are a Frieza race patroller, then they gain control of the Planetary Trade if they [[TheStarscream defeat both Frieza and Cooler]].
* SuperpowerLottery: The second Time Patroller has greater access to other abilities and transformations.
* TelescopingStaff: Earthlings can wield the Power Pole Goku used as a kid.
* TheDragAlong: Can choose to be this for the Hero Colosseum story. Most dialogue choices present you with an option to express either complete indifference to the game or to actively shun it.
* TranquilFury: Going Super Saiyan for the first time usually inflicts at least some level of UnstoppableRage upon the user, but the Saiyan Time Patroller isn't really inconvenienced by it when Goku and Vegeta proceed to help you trigger the transformation.
* TookALevelInBadass: They do this many times, from being merely equal to Raditz until they're trading blows with ''Goku Black in Super Saiyan Rosé'' on equal footing. [[spoiler:And then they defeat Goku in his ''[[BeyondTheImpossible Ultra Instinct form.]]'']]
* TeleportSpam: They can also possess Instant Transmission and Kai Kai, meaning they can beat you senseless while flitting about all over the place just like their predecessor. And with a little luck and some TP medals they can also get Sudden Death Beam, which is an upgraded Instant Transmission that allows them to counter anybody who tries to interrupt their teleportation with a point-blank energy wave InTheBack.
* WakeUpGoToSchoolSaveTheWorld: The second Time Patroller is basically a high school student in this regard. However, they go to school to ''learn'' to save the world (and various timeline disruptions instead of the usual norm of the trope). Some Mentors will actually gather at Orange Star High School for the player to learn techniques as well as taking exams to unlock their Ultimate Potential.
* WorthyOpponent: Mira acknowledges the player as his rival [[spoiler:while he's dying]]. If the player trains with Vegeta (in the Capsule Corp time rift), he also acknowledges them as someone to surpass next to Goku. Goku fully regards them as this full stop [[spoiler:when they manage to keep up with him in their fight in DLC 6 and the feeling is only strengthened even moreso when they defeat Goku after he goes Ultra Instinct]].
* WorldsStrongestMan: Regarded as this even moreso than the last Future Warrior as they manage to take down Final Form Mira, Goku Black, Future Zamasu and their Fusion, Demigra, a souped-up Dabura as well as [[spoiler:Ultra Instinct Goku]]. It’s a fair bet to say at this point that besides the Angels and Zeno, they are completely unstoppable.

!!!Voiced by: Creator/TakeshiKusao (JP), Creator/EricVale (EN)
-->"''You were chosen. Chosen by Shenron.''"
Xeno Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma, a Saiyan Hybrid from the Future. He is Future Trunks after the events of the Android and Cell Sagas, and after he finally settled everything in his own future timeline. Due to the meddling with time to one's own liking being a sin against the universe, Trunks works alongside the Supreme Kai of Time as the head of the Time Patrollers, to try and fix distortions in the timeline. He serves as the player character's mentor throughout the game, after wishing them to the Toki Toki City through Shenron. For more info on this character, see [[Characters/DragonBallFutureTrunks Future Trunks]].
----
* AdaptationalDumbass: No matter whether or not Xeno Trunks is related to ''Z'' or ''Super'' Trunks, ''no'' other version of the character makes questionable decisions like his Xeno incarnation. His biggest mistake in ''1'' was telling Beerus he and the patroller would take care of Demigra- which not only results in him getting his ass kicked immediately by the God of Destruction and Angel, but actively lets Demigra continue his plans and corrupt most of Toki Toki City. It gets worse in ''2'', to almost comical levels, where he's the ButtMonkey and gets trapped in Ginyu's body despite ''knowing'' about his abilities, allegedly can access higher transformations but never does, and perhaps most jarringly '''lets his guard down in the middle of an ongoing battle so Frieza can shoot him in the back.'''
* AlternateSelf: While it's questionable at times, he seems to be this for both the main timeline Xeno Trunks and the Future Trunks shown in the anime. This is evident in that Trunks is fully aware of the events occurring after he left the main timeline such as Majin Buu and ''Battle of Gods'', whereas when Future Trunks returned in ''Super'' he had no knowledge of Beerus and Whis, though it's possible [[spoiler:and seemingly confirmed in the Future Trunks saga events in ''Xenoverse 2'']] that he was scouted by the Supreme Kai of Time ''after'' his return in ''Super''.
** In ''Xenoverse 2'', it's even revealed that Xeno Trunks created an alternate timeline where he saved the life of Future Gohan and succeeded in destroying Future Android 17 and 18, however this version of Xeno Trunks notes that he's trapped there, and the Supreme Kai of Time says she'll make the call on whether or not this timeline should be kept or not.
** In ''Xenoverse 2'' DLC for the "Future Trunks" Saga, we actually see Xeno Trunks giving energy to the ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'' Future Trunks for his Spirit Bomb Sword, so either they're two distinct characters or the same character from different points in the same timeline (that Trunks's GT counterpart as well as his younger self from his timeline both also contribute energy lend to either scenario). The ending of the Future Trunks Saga makes this even ''more'' confusing: [[spoiler:After completing the quest, he sees the scrolls relating to the saga and refers to it as ''his'' crime of changing history, which solidifies that Future Trunks became a Time Patroller after the events of the saga, which would explain his knowledge of the events of the main timeline and Beerus and Whis.]]
** ''Dragon Ball Heroes'' muddies the water even further by revealing there is indeed a version of Trunks from another dimension, dubbed Xeno Trunks, who is a Time Patroller and distinct from the main canon timeline Future Trunks, leading to the question of just which Trunks has been featured in the main ''Xenoverse'' series.
* TheAtoner: For changing history, and creating alternate timelines. Trunks never knew that distorting time was considered a mortal sin, and seeks to fix timelines as his atonement. [[spoiler:Except it turns out the Supreme Kai of Time was ''lying'' because she wanted a friend. But ''then'' it turns out the lie was only by omission; it really is a galactic sin, but she's one of the only beings with the authority to sanction it.]]
* ArtificialStupidity: Trunks' A.I. in your battle against [[spoiler:Lord Beerus and Whis]] will be responsible for a lot of crying and frustration.
* BadassLongcoat: Trunks: Xeno sports one of these as part of his Time Patroller outfit.
* BeingGoodSucks: A trait that carries over from the main Future Trunks, but it is much more pronounced in ''Xenoverse 2''. In ''2'', he has to see Future Gohan and his father die again, since it is the correct course of history. In Future Gohan's case, he knew has has to die, but couldn't bring himself to see him die again. [[spoiler:In an alternate timeline, he went out of his way to help Gohan kill Future 17 and 18.]] As for his father, he knows Vegeta had to give up his life to protect kid Trunks, and if the ending of the Future Trunks saga is any indication, he knows the weight of carrying his own crimes of altering history, but he just wants a world to have a good future.
* BigWhat: Lets out a big "Huuuuuuh?" when he finds that Mira has the gall to [[spoiler:disrespect ''Beerus'']].
* CanonName: This version of Trunks is referred to as Trunks: Xeno outside the game, to distinguish him from the main Future Trunks of the anime.
* CutsceneIncompetence: Suffers this frequently through both games, as exemplified below.
* ForgotAboutHisPowers: Trunks has the habit of not transforming into Super Saiyan during multiple conflicts throughout both games, especially ''2''. Because of such, he limits himself severely several times and gets defeated rather quickly and frequently.
** Made even ''worse'' if this version of Trunks truly is the same one from the anime as the end of the Goku Black DLC tries to imply, as that version has access to forms that are ''much'' more powerful (i.e. 2 and Rage) that he never once uses no matter what the situation. Borders on AdaptationalDumbass.
* GadgeteerGenius: Trunks has a knack for robotics, as both he and the Supreme Kai of Time mention on occasion. [[spoiler:He manages to set the Big Gete Star to self-destruct in order to defeat the Metal Cooler army that's interfering with the Cell Games.]]
* HeroesPreferSwords: His fighting style has him frequently use his blade.
* HeroicBastard: He was born from a one night stand, after all.
* HonorBeforeReason: [[spoiler:In the sequel, when the second Time Patroller is sent to help Future Gohan defeat Android 16, he could not help but help Gohan defeat 16. Of course Supreme Kai called him out for this. In the end, he is ForcedToWatch Gohan die again because he was destined to be killed by the Androids.]]
** In the alternate ''History of Trunks'' story to see how the battle with the Androids would play out, [[spoiler:you take control of Future Gohan and defeat the Androids. Trunks tells him about other threats besides the Androids while the second protagonist has to decide whether to fix Trunks' interference or leave it be]]. Most players would rather leave it be, but Supreme Kai of Time states she gets the last call.
* {{Hypocrite}}:
** His adamant attitude that history should not be changed can come across as hypocritical. Especially when he insists the main timeline is the one he himself changed, and not the one he came from. If any timeline should be the main one, it should be his. In his defence, [[SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong his changing was to avoid a]] BadFuture, whereas the [[BigBad Time Breakers]] [[MakeWrongWhatOnceWentRight are doing nothing but creating those]].
** [[spoiler:During the Baby DLC, Trunks tells Baby he should fight with his own power, and not use others to fight for him. And yet, this is all Trunks does for the majority of the game. There's the justification he offers that the Time Patrol doesn't like to send people back to meddle with their own timelines, but...]]
--->'''Trunks:''' [[spoiler:You have to learn that you can't just have others do your fighting for you Baby, you need to use your own power!]]
** A tragic example (which is possible) occurs in ''Xenoverse 2'' where [[spoiler:Trunks went out of his way to save Future Gohan despite being told not to. And he ''knows'' it's his job to correct history, not change it. Yet, he went to save Future Gohan despite his second Time Patrol partner being fairly capable of fending off Android 16 and Mira. And he is prevented from telling Gohan his fate. It gets worse in an alternate timeline where he knows he broke the rules and he knows he can't go back to the Time Patrol]].
* {{Irony}}: Trunks, as a member of the Time Patrol, is ''adamant'' that the timeline should not be changed. This is coming from the man who insists that the ''correct' timeline is the one that involved his own meddling with time.
* LeeroyJenkins: Trunks has a ''really'' bad habit of rushing into things without considering the ramifications first. [[spoiler:Jump rushing Demigra with his sword with no concern for his safety, ''insisting on challenging Beerus and Whis to a battle'' despite them being Gods, intervening to help Future Gohan despite the potential effects on history itself not once, but twice…]] Vegeta would be proud.
* TheLoad: Especially against [[spoiler:Whis and Beerus]]. ArtificialStupidity makes it so Trunks is hardly helpful in a tag-team battle.
* TheMentor: For the Future Warrior. Though others will train them, too.
* MissionControl: As well as being the game's tutorial, his main role in the games is to tell you what you need to do.
* NiceGuy: He's very polite, friendly, and puts up with a lot of the Supreme Kai's demands.
* OpenMouthInsertFoot: Trunks wrote a check neither you nor he could cash when he willingly accepted Beerus's writ of challenge [[spoiler:to decide who will defeat Demigra]] by sparring with him and Whis. ''He even loses first.''
* OtherMeAnnoysMe: He's not quite sold on his GT self. He does gain some respect for him during the Neo Ginyu Force fight.
* PalsWithJesus: Trunks is more than likely the Supreme Kai of Time's only friend, after Tokitoki.
* PrettyBoy: [[HoYay Harry certainly thinks so.]]
* RedOniBlueOni: Ends up being the Blue Oni to Chronoa's Red, due to his polite demeanor clashing with the more immature Supreme Kai.
* RetGone: Nearly faced this when Mira and Towa tried powering up the Androids of his timeline to kill him. And again when they had Cell absorb the Androids and fight under their control.
* SociallyAwkwardHero: The Supreme Kai of Time thinks Trunks prefers the company of machines to the company of people.
* TakeThat: Xeno Trunks will often voice his disappointment in GT Trunks during the GT Saga Quests, though he warms up later, it counts as a JerkassBall, as Trunks is never like this to any other individual he comes across.
* TookALevelInBadass: Zigzagged. ArtificialStupidity aside, let's take an objective look at Trunks, here. He went from being Cell's punching bag to being strong enough to faze Beerus and/or Whis. Evidently, the Patrol job has done him worlds of good, on the otherhand, he's become a bit of a ButtMonkey with how often he gets into situations he can't handle.
* VoodooShark: ''Xenoverse 2'' does this when it ''tries'' to make Xeno Trunks and Future Trunks one in the same, key word being ''tries''. By attempting to connect the two, they effectively make Trunks seem even more incompetent by not powering up to a stronger form beyond Super Saiyan even ''once'' despite the fact Future Trunks almost always tried to go to his stronger form first. They also completely ignore the fact that one Trunks has blue hair and the other has lavender, making the change worse by seemingly have it go back and forth for no reason. As such, it comes out as forced, and many fans prefer the ''Heroes'' version, where the two are separate and Xeno Trunks was recruited by Supreme Kai of Time soon after defeating Cell.
* TheWorfEffect: In the first game, despite being a Super Saiyan, he can't defeat Mira despite the combined forces of the first protagonist and him. In the battle against Demigra, he is easily taken down and the protagonist has to knock him out when he is under his control (justified in that he wants them to beat him senseless to escape control). In the second game, he gets the worse of it. [[spoiler:He gets body-jacked by Ginyu by Turles' intervention, gets taken out by Jenemba, and nearly got sealed with the second protagonist with Bardock bailing them out.]]
* WarriorPrince: The son of Vegeta, a Super Saiyan, a master swordsman.

The Supreme Kai of Time is a deity and a major character in the video game ''Dragon Ball Xenoverse''. She watches over the flow of time from the cosmos, and assists Trunks and the Future Warrior in fixing the distortions caused by Towa, Mira and Demigra.
----
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: The Kais all have different skin coloring, and hers is {{pink|MeansFeminine}}.
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: She finds ''Bardock'' attractive.
* BerserkButton: She does not take being called old well.
* BigGood: Of ''Xenoverse'', as Trunks' boss, if Trunks can be considered to be the leader of the Time Patrol.
* BigSisterMentor: She takes up this role toward the second Future Warrior in ''Xenoverse 2'', even if she may not look old enough at first glance.
* BrattyHalfPint: Downplayed. While she has her moments, for the most part, Supreme Kai of Time is very reasonable and wise.
* CerebusRetcon: Late in the story, [[spoiler:it's revealed that the Supreme Kai of Time strong-armed Future Trunks into joining the Time Patrol because using time travel to change the past in the Cell Saga broke a sacred taboo...only to quickly admit that she was lying and just wanted Future Trunks to stick around because she was lonely. Come ''Super's'' Future Trunks Saga, it turns out the TimeTravelTaboo is very real; Whis and Beerus are ''anything'' but pleased to find out what Trunks did and only refrain from punishing him due to the danger Goku Black represents.]]
* AChildShallLeadThem: She's over 75 million years old, but looks and acts like a little girl, yet still leads the Time Patrol. In ''Heroes'', she can transform into an adult-looking form when she needs to go all-out.
* TheCutie: Despite being over 75 million years old.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness:
** Despite being a Supreme Kai, her life is not linked in any way to a God of Destruction (Or any sort of time destroyer, for that matter) because she was introduced before the concept of the lives of both a Kai and a Destroyers were linked. But then, she's not the Supreme Kai of Universe 7 (or any of the other Universes), she's the Supreme Kai ''of Time''. There's no corresponding Destroyer of Time for her to be linked to.
** In ''Xenoverse 1'', it's revealed that [[spoiler:Chronoa intentionally made Trunks' time travel seem worse than they actually were]], which conflicts with later materials stating that time travel ''is'' a serious crime not just to mortals, but to most gods as well. Later materials go with this interpretation, with Chronoa being considerably more strict when it comes to changing history. Even the Legend Patrol DLC in ''Xenoverse 2'' omits this former detail.
* FieryRedhead: She's got something of a temper.
* HealingHands: She has healing powers.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Has this dynamic with Trunks.
* ImmortalImmaturity: Displays some traits of a BrattyHalfPint despite being 75 million years old.
* ImplausibleDeniability: She asks Trunks, "Does a God ever lie?" when he questioned her over a solution to the mind-control... [[spoiler:after she admitted to you that she lied about Trunks committing a sin in order to have him stay around as an assistant]].[[note]]Though future canon material reveals that time manipulation is indeed a divine taboo, with her authority presumably being the only exception to the rule. Pre-''Xenoverse'' material was in conflict, Trunks in ''VideoGame/DragonBallOnline'' specifically being told causing a ''split'' in the timeline was the sin, so Whis's rewinds would be okay while ''Manga/JacoTheGalacticPatrolman'' said his organization considers ''all'' "controlling" of time illegal. Either way, the only reason her statement is a lie is because her own decision to keep his changed timeline around because she'd planned on dealing with Cell herself legitimized his actions.[[/note]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Really, it's up to interpretation how much of a nice girl she is [[spoiler:after finding out she manipulated Trunks into staying as an assistant,]] however, she is still trying to put the timelines right and save the lives of everyone who is affected by the Time Breakers' schemes. Plus, [[spoiler:she could have undone Trunks' alterations to the timeline but chose not to]].
* TheKnightsWhoSaySquee: Develops a crush on Bardock and wonders if he has a girlfriend. Trunks has to remind her that he has a ''wife''.
* LethalChef: Trunks tells the Future Warrior (after she had prepared a giant feast for them) that her cooking is worse than any Shadow Dragon they had faced. When your cooking is bad enough to give a ''[[BigEater Saiyan]]'' a stomachache, it has to be terrible. In ''Xenoverse 2'', we get to see just how bad her cooking is when she makes pudding for Beerus. It's so terrible that it not only gives ''Goku'' a stomachache, it outright cripples him. When Goku wants to help the Future Warrior calm Beerus down after eating the pudding, Whis says that he's in no condition to do anything after what he ate. You have to remember that this is ''Beerus'' who, in the manga, chugged down on some food that was filled with poison that didn't at all affect him. RuleOfFunny, of course, was in a effect, but still...
* LittleMissAlmighty: She's a Time Goddess who looks like a particularly small girl.
* LoopholeAbuse: The only reason Future Trunks gets away with altering the timeline like he does is because Chronoa was planning on altering it herself. Otherwise it turns out time travel is not only a divine sin, but also a galactic crime. Only Chronoa and Whis have that authority, though apparently they can pardon people if they approve of the changes.
* LonelyAtTheTop: Aside from Tokitoki, it's speculated that the Supreme Kai of Time was lonely before she met Trunks. [[spoiler:And considering she lied to him in order to keep him around and expand the city, that just might be true.]]
* ManipulativeBitch: [[spoiler:She could have let Trunks go and fixed the timeline's issues herself... however, she chose to ''lie'' and make Trunks' selfless act of saving the main timeline from his horrible future out to be a ''mortal sin'', in order to have him around to keep her company. According to ''Anime/DragonBallZResurrectionF'' and ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'', she was apparently ''lying about lying''. A semi-comedic moment in ''Resurrection ‘F’'' and its corresponding ''Super'' arc has Jaco state that time travel is a galactic crime after seeing Whis reset the timeline by three minutes, but then pull an "I saw nothing" in order to avoid the paperwork. In the Future Trunks arc in ''Super'', however, Whis and Beerus make a big deal about the fact that time travel ''actually is a crime'' that covers ''gods as well as mortals''. Since it's the Supreme Kai of Time's duty to fix timeline alterations, [[FromACertainPointOfView the only person time manipulation isn't a crime for is Chronoa herself]].]]
** To her credit, in the second game, [[spoiler:in the epilogue of the Goku Black arc, she tells Trunks that while he did commit a grave crime, the good he has done outweighs the bad, and she's fine with letting him retire from his work at the Time Patrol as thanks for all his hard work. However, Trunks refuses her offer, saying he does genuinely enjoy his work and has made good friends.]]
* MeaningfulName: Her true name contains "chrono", which of course means time.
* MissionControl: Like Trunks, her primary role is to tell you what to do.
* MostCommonSuperpower: In her transformed state, her chest size increases alongside her battle power into one of the largest seen in the franchise.
* NonActionGuy: She doesn't fight, but she is magically powerful, [[spoiler:since she sealed away Demigra in the cracks of time for 75 million years.]] {{Averted|Trope}} when she became a playable character in Version 1.15.00 for ''Xenoverse 2''.
* OhCrap: When she understands that Demigra is trying to control freaking Beerus.
* OlderThanSheLooks: She's just a millennium younger than the Elder Kai, but you would never guess it just by looking. [[BerserkButton She doesn't like anyone commenting on it.]]
* PhysicalGoddess: She’s the Supreme Kai of Time, and her Time Power Unleashed form is has her manipulate time itself.
* Really700YearsOld: She may look like a young girl, but she's over ''75 million'' years old.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Chronoa might be a joker who likes to act like a happy-go-lucky young girl, but when it comes to her job, she's firm but not uncompromising. [[spoiler:The depth of her just leadership is no more clearly shown than the timeline created by Trunks betraying her and going behind her back to try and save Future Gohan. This results in a new timeline wherein he succeeded, but rather than immediately deciding to wipe the thing, she seriously considers letting this version of Trunks have his wish and live happily with Gohan alive. However, at the same time, she doesn't just act on this whim, taking into account Elder Kai's very real warnings of potential dangers to history emerging from this timeline as well, stating that she'll think everything over, but make no mistake, the final decision is ''hers''.]]
* RedOniBlueOni: Fittingly considering her [[PinkMeansFeminine color scheme]], she ends up being the Red Oni to Trunks' Blue due to her childlike personality oftentimes clashing with Trunks' NiceGuy. The ''[[VideoGame/DragonBallHeroes Super Heroes]]'' manga makes this even more apparent, with Chronoa doing such things as attempting to strike a pose while Trunks just stands awkwardly beside her.
* SquishyWizard: She has no combat ability, but her magic is strong enough to [[spoiler:seal a freaking god within the cracks of time for 75 million years]]. {{Subverted|Trope}} by the time of Version 1.15.00 for ''Xenoverse 2'' where she becomes playable.
* TokenMiniMoe: She is the shortest of both the known living Supreme Kais and the Time Partol (bar certain Character Customization options).

The Supreme Kai of Time's pet bird and best friend, who the city is named after. He starts to act unusually antsy during the story, as response for Demigra's seal weakening.
----
* ChekhovsGunman: [[spoiler:Actually has a great control over time and space. And because of this the Supreme Kai of Time is highly protective of him and Demigra seeks to control him, which he does by turning the bird into a ball and consuming him, gaining a massive power boost, and is ultimately responsible for allowing the Future Warrior to go back in time and prevent Demigra's NearVillainVictory]].
* CosmicEgg: [[spoiler:Tokitoki's eggs contain within them the history of an entire universe. 350* RealityWarper: He can give birth to entire universes.

[[folder:Time Patrol [=NPCs=]]]
The other members of the Time Patrol that you meet around Tokitoki City. These Time Patrollers are the notable individuals you encounter that have no bearing on the storyline outside of the occasional dialogue switch when you complete a different part of the storyline. Their names are Isaas, Kate, Thirith, Pima, Ukatz, Taino, Ziko, Reso, Cloke, Hakusa, Amura, Harry and Percel.
----
* AscendedFanboy: Taino. [[spoiler:She always admired the Ginyu Force, and in the end, after the story, she became the leader of her own merry band of misfits, the Taino Force.]]
* TheAloner: Pima, natch. [[spoiler:Until the end of the story, anyway.]]
* AmbiguouslyGay: Harry, who refers to Trunks as ''really handsome''.
* [[ArrogantKungFuGuy Arrogant Kung-Fu Girl]]: Hakusa, who is at first a bit condescending towards the Hero. But as the story nears the end, she goes through a BreakTheHaughty, and [[spoiler:asks the Hero to train her, realizing she's greatly outclassed.]] Also, Isaas.
* AsskickingPose: [[spoiler:The Taino Force, using the original poses of the Ginyu Force, no less.]]
* CuteMonsterGirl: Taino. She's a giggling female Majin that is a Ginyu Force fangirl.
%%* TheDitz: Amura.
%%* DontYouDarePityMe: Essentially what Pima says to the Future Warrior.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: ''Percel''. This man, like the Future Warrior, works to fix errors in timelines of other eras. His era was the Dragon Ball Era (also known as the one era of DBZ canon that got no representation), where Kami has merged with Piccolo, making Piccolo stronger than any warriors of that era, and is currently at war; [[EvilVersusEvil his demons vs. the Red Ribbon Army's Androids]]. And, as if this wasn't enough, Babidi arrived to make matter's worse. And this man is handling all of it himself. [[spoiler:Post-game, he's handled it and used the Namekian Dragon Balls to bring things back to normal. Badass.]]
* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: Reso, who is of Frieza's race, and feels he has to prove his species isn't an evil one due to the prejudice against them.
* NiceGuy: Ziko, definitely. He's the first to offer praise and rewards you whenever you defeat a BigBad.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: [[spoiler:Percel managing to somehow [[EvilVersusEvil stop a three way war]] between King Piccolo fused with Kami, the Red Ribbon Army, and Babidi. There's a reason he's considered such a badass.]]

!!Time Breakers
[[folder:In General]]
[[quoteright:150:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tblogo.png]]
The Time Breakers, early on referred to as the "Pale Man's Army", later known as the [[http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Empire Dark Demon Realm army (Ankoku Makai army]]), are an alliance of villains commanded by the powerful demon couple Towa and Mira, and later Towa's brother Dabura.
----
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: They are all demons, a race that is known for having different colored skin. Towa and Mira have blue skin, while Demigra's skin is a paste white.
* TheCorrupter: The three are capable of using corrupting magic that powers characters up and increases their killing intent and aggression.
* OneWingedAngel: In addition to the Purple-colored power aura they normally get, ''Xenoverse 2'' adds a new 'Time Breaker'/'Supervillain' mode that their members assume. Their power auras go pitch black, their [[RedEyesTakeWarning eyes turn red]], their skin turns a silver color and they get the Time Breaker emblem on their forehead. Notable users include Golden Frieza, Metal Cooler, Broly, Janemba, Omega Shenron [[spoiler:[[LethalJokeCharacter and Yamcha]]]].
* TerminatorTwosome: Towa and Mira take the evil half for both the first half of ''Xenoverse'' and the entirety of ''Xenoverse 2''. Demigra takes this role during the second half of ''Xenoverse''.
* TimeMaster: They are all experienced in going through time.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Towa]]
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/towa_xv.png]]
!!!Voiced by: Creator/MasakoKatsuki (JP), Creator/StephanieYoung (EN)
Time Breaker Towa is a scientist who hails from the Demon Realm. With her husband/creation Mira, she manipulates the flow of time, causing distortions and reshaping history for the worst in what she claims are ''experiments''. She's also the younger sister of Dabura, making her The Demon Queen.
----
* AvengingTheVillain: Trunks speculates that Towa wants to avenge her brother Dabura, hence why she's manipulating the timelines to bring the worst outcome for the heroes.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: Possibly. Despite how stoic and unknown the couple is, they seem to care about each other. Mira shows no hesitance in protecting Towa, and despite his violent nature, he'll listen to her and follow her no matter what. Towa even refers to him as "My Mira" and [[spoiler:expresses despair when he starts losing and eventually dies.]]
* BeautyIsBad: Easily the most attractive character in the game—and one of the bigger bad guys, since she manipulates the events of the timelines so the villains win.
* BigBad: Of the first game, [[spoiler:or at least, the first half]]. She is the one who corrupts all the villains up to Fat Buu, making them more powerful and aggressive. She also tries to wipe Future Trunks out of existence by having the Future Androids kill him and making Future Cell perfect so he can kill Trunks in case the Future Warrior saves Trunks from the androids. In the second game [[spoiler:she is a BigBadWannabe, with Mira as the true BigBad of the second game]].
* DarkActionGirl: As a playable character. She is a master manipulator and sorcerous.
* DidYouJustScamCthulhu: In ''Xenoverse 2'', [[spoiler:she, by hijacking the Time Patrol's communications systems and impersonating the Supreme Kai of Time, dupes Beerus and Whis into going to the Time Nest, thus ensuring that Whis won't be there to hit the ResetButton on Frieza's [[EarthShatteringKaboom blowing up the Earth]]. Beerus is absolutely ''pissed'' that Towa had the gall to trick him]].
* EnemyMine: [[spoiler:In ''Xenoverse 2'', after Mira overexceeds his power limiter and begins to run amok, Towa begrudgingly allies with the second Future Warrior in order to bring him down.]]
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: She and Mira genuinely seem to love each other. She is also Dabura's little sister.
* EvilVersusOblivion: At the end of ''Xenoverse 2'', [[spoiler:when Mira overloads his PowerLimiter and goes crazy, Towa forms an EnemyMine with the second Future Warrior to take him down, realizing that if Mira doesn't calm down, the resulting SuperpowerMeltdown will destroy the universe.]]
* ForScience: When Time Patrol Trunks calls her out on her altering the timeline, she asks if it's wrong for a scientist to perform experiments.
* TheFriendsWhoNeverHang: She's Dabura's sister, and despite her plans in both games relying on her messing with timelines, she didn't try to save him in the first game, and in the second one she only really did it in secret, and since his story is a DLC story, it happened after she's dead and he's trying to take revenge. They also don't have special intros with each other.
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: As playable characters, Towa's physical attacks are weak, but her ki is excellent. In contrast, Mira's physical attacks are strong, but ki is weak. So they have this dynamic.
* HeroKiller: Indirectly, but absolutely on purpose. Her distortions of the timelines have killed practically all of the heroes before the Time Patrol goes to set things right.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: She has this dynamic with Mira.
* {{Jerkass}}: She clearly takes delight in messing with the timelines, despite the damage and deaths that occur.
* LadyInRed: Dresses in a skin-tight red outfit, showing how good-looking and dangerous she is.
* MadScientist: She sees her manipulations of time and powering up villains as nothing more than experiments.
* MeaningfulName: Her name is derived from the Japanese word for "eternity".
* TheMedic: Her Energy Zone technique heals herself and any allies within its area of effect.
* MsFanservice: She's a blue skinned demon with a sultry who wears skin tight clothing (along with high heels). ''VideoGame/DragonBallXenoverse2'' introduced an alternate bikini skin for her character.
* NoblewomansLaugh: Does this a few times.
* NonActionBigBad: Zigzagged. Her husband does the fighting, while she manipulates time and controls others. However, she is a fighter in the second DLC pack.
* NotSoStoic: The only time she is ever seen out of her calm demeanor is when she sees Time Patrol Trunks for the first time and when [[spoiler:Mira is destroyed]].
* OutofCharacterMoment: In 2, despite vocally voicing her affection for Mira multiple times and her concern when Bardock drags him into another dimension, she suddenly incredibly dismissive towards him, calling him weak and trash for no given reason.
%%* SilverVixen: As Mira's creator, she is technically his "mother". This means that [[spoiler:the child they had together is both their son ''and'' her ''grand''son]].
* TheStoic: She is usually calm and in control, showing mostly amusement when you stop her from meddling in timelines. The only times she seemed truly surprised is when she sees Time Patrol Trunks at the Cell Games, since she didn't know about Trunks joining the Time Patrol, and when [[spoiler:Mira is destroyed by the Future Warrior]].
* SuperMode: Has two in Heroes.
* StrongAsTheyNeedToBe: Towa's ability to increase the power of a villain seems to vary depending on what is convenient for the plot, most of the time the difference is so minimal that the villain can continue to be defeated by the same hero who defeated him in the line of original time, with the help of the patroller. Other times the increase is so great that the villain can face a hero from several sagas later, such as 16 being as strong as the Trunks at the end of the Cell saga.
** Darkness Towa: Gains a black outfit and her magic becomes stronger.
** Demon God Towa: Wears a black dress, has long hair, and gains two long horns on top of her head.
* TimeStandsStill: Her Time Bullet attack temporarily freezes an opponent in place.
* ToCreateAPlaygroundForEvil: In ''Xenoverse 2'', she acknowledges that her plan to revive the Demon Realm will result in chaos, and delights in it:
-->'''Towa:''' Can't you imagine it? A garden of evil blooming with rage and pain? So beautiful.
* {{Troll}}: She's almost as bad as Cell, purposefully withholding information, laughing at the plights of the Time Police and the Z-Fighters, being as vague and mocking as she can be—sometimes just because she wants to get a reaction from them.
* {{Underboobs}}: Her outfit blatantly reveals it.
* TheUnfought: Towa is never directly fought by the player. In fact the only fight she's been known to have been in was with Future Trunks (which was off-screen). Subverted in the second DLC pack, where she becomes a playable character and can be fought in a Parallel Quest.
* UnholyMatrimony: With Mira, her husband and creation.
* UnskilledButStrong: Towa's actually ''quite'' powerful, likely moreso than her brother, and can hold her own if she has to, but her distaste for doing her own dirty work and penchant to flee when there's no bodies to lob at the enemy leaves her actual level of proficiency lacking. Her combat form, if you can even call it one, just involves whacking and prodding the enemy with her staff, and her lack of an offensive Ultimate is quite telling.
* UnwittingPawn: She and Mira turn out to be this when [[spoiler:Demigra admits that he relied on their meddling with history to weaken his seal to the point where he can manipulate events himself. It's very likely that the two didn't even know of Demigra being involved by the time the story ended]].
* VillainousBreakdown: After having failed multiple times, [[spoiler:Bardock dragging Mira with him in the Crack of Time,]] and being cornered by both Time Patrollers and Trunks, [[spoiler:she resorts to going back in time to destroy Shenron to prevent the first protagonist from existing]]. Even that failed, and she starts ranting.
* VillainExitStageLeft: Repeatedly, even. Almost every time the heroes corner her, she just teleports away and leaves Mira to keep them busy. When she ''doesn't'' do this late in the second game, it's a sign that she's getting desperate.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: Cares for no one but Mira and [[spoiler:Dabura]].

Time Breaker Mira is an artificial being from the Demon Realm. He assists his wife/creator Towa in distorting the timeline, while seeking out worthy opponents to fight against. His appearance suggests that he is a mixture of different species.
----
* ActionDad: He has a son with Towa, named Fu, who appears in ''VideoGame/DragonBallOnline''.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: Possibly. Despite how stoic and unknown the couple is, they seem to care about each other. 444* BigBad: Of the second game, he and Towa continue to mess with history, but towards the climax of the second game he betrays Towa and absorbs both her and the egg of Tokitoki into a new powerful form without limit.
* BloodKnight: Is said to only ever smile when he's fighting a worthy opponent. The [[spoiler:second-to-last battle in the sequel confirms this is what he was missing: a WorthyOpponent and a competitive spirit. 446* CharacterDevelopment: [[spoiler:Coming back in ''Xenoverse 2'' after having once died, he begins to ponder the viability of Towa's methods and his own shortcomings -- what could it be that makes him feel so ''different'' than other fighters. 447* DevourTheDragon: [[spoiler:Invoked and inverted, though he comes to regret it all too late.]]

It's only because Beerus is impressed that Mira had the guts to stand up to him that this doesn't become a case of DoNotTauntCthulhu.]]
* DivingKick: His Android Kick attack, gained in GT Pack 2.
* DragonInChief: To his wife, Towa. He does most of the fighting, and is far more dangerous than Towa.
* DragonWithAnAgenda: [[spoiler:His need to be the strongest develops into a frighteningly unhinged complex in ''Xenoverse 2''. And it just so happens he comes to feel Towa is holding him back...]]
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He and Towa genuinely seem to love each other.
* EvilCounterpart: Can be seen as this to the Hero. Both are fighters constantly trying to get stronger, and that they both use moves that belong to other characters.
* FinalBoss: In the first game, he is a DiscOneFinalBoss. In the second game, [[spoiler:he fully takes up the role]].
* FusionDance: [[spoiler:A forced one. He forcibly merged Towa and Tokitoki's egg into himself, making him much more powerful than ''Super Saiyan Blue Goku''.]]
* GoThroughMe: Every time Towa is threatened, Mira ''immediately'' places himself between her and the Future Warrior.
* GracefulLoser: In ''Xenoverse 2'', [[spoiler:when Goku and the Future Warrior defeat him, he accepts his demise quite gracefully, only wishing that they could have fought longer]].
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: As playable characters, Mira's physical attacks are strong, but ki is weak. In contrast, Towa's physical attacks are weak, but her ki is excellent. So they have this dynamic.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: He has this dynamic with Towa.
* IgnoredEpiphany: He learns from [[spoiler:Bardock, the hard way]] that what leaves him lacking time and again is that he lacks a true warrior's credo, a genuine fighting spirit. [[spoiler:This drives him to seek power of his own means… by pulling a Cell and absorbing both his creator of immense demon magic, and Tokitoki's egg which contains a ''new timeline''.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: Like his wife, he doesn't care that their meddling is destroying the timelines.
* LegoGenetics: An artificial being made up of Saiyan, Earthling, Demon and possibly Frieza Race DNA.
* MeaningfulName: His name is one letter off from being spelled ''Mirai'', which means ''future'' in Japanese.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler:After being sobered from his final form's power high, as he dies, Mira realizes the depth of his betrayal to Towa and wishes she could forgive him.]]
* NervesOfSteel: It says a lot about Mira in ''2'' when he [[spoiler:shows no fear of Beerus, a [[DestroyerDeity God of Destruction]], and casually mouths off to him, something not even ''Golden Frieza'' dared to do.]]
* NotQuiteDead: [[spoiler:Is nearly completely destroyed by the Hero during the Buu Saga, but TheStinger shows that a small organic part of him survived within his chest-piece. Still conscious and demanding that Towa rebuild him and make him stronger.]]
* NotSoStoic: The only time he's ever seen out of his stoic expression is [[spoiler:when he's about to die]].
* PerpetualFrowner: Never once does he smile, despite the claims he only does so when fighting worthy opponents. [[spoiler:We finally see it in the sequel, after he absorbs Towa and Tokitoki's egg and goes OneWingedAngel.]]
* PowerCopying: Just like Cell, the majority of his techniques are borrowed from existing characters, mostly villains. He's given a selection of unique attacks in the second DLC pack, but still somewhat sticks to this trope with the Galick Beam Cannon, an evil imitation of Vegeta's Galick Gun.
* PowerLimiter: Mentioned to have one in ''Xenoverse 2''. [[spoiler:When he overloads it during the final boss, it, according to Towa, risks a SuperpowerMeltdown that will destroy the universe.]]
%%* RedEyesTakeWarning: He's a villain.
* RefugeInAudacity: He interrupts Beerus's fight with Goku, ''insults him and then tells him to take a hike.'' The only thing that kept this from becoming a powerful case of TooDumbToLive is that Beerus ''himself'' was slightly flabbergasted at what just happened.
* TheRival: Self-appointed to The Future Warrior. He even refuses a prime opportunity to [[spoiler:take '''''Goku's''''' energy ''and'' kill Buu to claim revenge for his wife for the chance to settle things with them. Not quite Vegeta-tier, but close as it gets.]]
* SphereOfDestruction: Omega Shenron's Minus Energy Power Ball, as well as his own moves Infinity Explosion and Serious Bomb from GT Pack 2.
* SuperMode: Has two in Heroes.
** Runaway Mira which is him without his armor and being in a [[TheBerserker berserker]] state.
** Super Mira: Same as above but he now has Super Saiyan hair and the white sclera of his eyes turns blood red.
** [[spoiler:In ''Xenoverse 2'', we have Final Mira, a Super Saiyan 4-looking state with power overtaking ''Super Saiyan Blue Goku'' via absorption of both Towa and Tokitoki's reality-birthing egg]]
* TheStoic: Shows little to no emotion and often speaks in a monotone voice. It's not until the final battle with the Future Warrior that he shows more emotions.
* UnholyMatrimony: With Towa, his wife and creator.
* WeCanRebuildHim: [[spoiler:Towa plans to rebuild him, more powerful than ever, and seek vengeance on those who wronged them.]]
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: Like Towa, he has white hair and is psychotic.
* WorldsStrongestMan: What his goal is. Mira requires himself to be the strongest.
* WorthyOpponent: He grows to view the Time Patroller as this. [[spoiler:He even gives up a prime opportunity to steal Goku's energy and kill Buu to exact revenge for Towa's brother Dabura, just to get a crack at the Time Patroller. In the sequel, he comes to view the second protagonist as this when they defeat him for good]].

!!!Voiced by: Creator/KosukeToriumi (JP), Creator/JoshGrelle (EN)
The Demon God who the Supreme Kai of Time sealed within the Crack of Time millions of years ago for his conquering and evil nature. He manipulates the events of the story in order to weaken his seal and break free.
----
* ArchEnemy: Is this to the Supreme Kai of Time since she is the one who sealed him in the Crack of Time and denied him Tokitoki. [[spoiler:Later, he redistributes to the Future Warrior after, with a little help from Tokitoki, they ''avenge their own death'', free Goku to save the Time Nest and corner Demigra in the Crack of Time.]]
* AlternateSelf: Dabura summons a copy of him from another timeline during the final battle of Extra DLC Pack 2, depending on your mentor.
* AxCrazy: In the FinalBattle, as his VillainousBreakdown is in full swing, he begins gloating maniacally and shifting from this to UnstoppableRage and back in a [[MoodSwinger frighteningly unpredictable manner.]]
* BerserkButton: Composed and self-conceited as a default, but [[spoiler:he clearly has no idea how to manage himself when he can't puppeteer the situation.]]
* BigBad: Is the true main villain of ''Xenoverse''. [[spoiler:He indirectly manipulates Towa and Mira into causing havoc in time so it will weakened the seal that binds him, and then manipulates the Future Warrior into destroying Mira once he had no further used for them. Once Mira and Towa are out of the picture, he takes a direct role as the primary villain.]]
* BlasphemousBoast: [[spoiler:When he claims Beerus to be nothing more than his puppet.]] It backfires horribly and Beerus even calls it blasphemous.
-->[[spoiler:''"Heh heh heh... Look, even Beerus has his weakness. Now, he is my puppet."'']]
* CessationOfExistence: [[spoiler:Outright swears this on the Future Warrior when his final bid has been foiled, declaring he'd personally erase every instance of them throughout time and space to ensure total oblivion, without even hope for the afterlife.]]
-->''"You shall '''rue''' the day...! [[spoiler:I will '''erase''' your miserable life from history! When I get through with you, you will have '''NEVER EXISTED!'''"'']]\
"No one [[spoiler:who has ever witnessed this form]] has ''ever'' escaped alive. And '''''you'''''... You are ''no exception!'' [[spoiler:I won't leave a ''speck'' behind! '''I WILL ''ERASE YOU FROM THIS WORLD!!!''']]"''
* TheChessmaster: Manipulates all sides of the conflict from behind the scenes in order to make as many distortions as possible to weaken his seal.
* DualBoss: [[spoiler:In ''Xenoverse 2'''s Infinite History Saga, depending on which mentor you bring to "The End of Conton City", Dabura will summon an alternate timeline version of Demigra to help fight the player character and mentor. He's the most common opponent of the bunch, showing up if you bring either Tien, Yamcha, Slug, Turles, Gohan and Videl, Gotenks, Jaco, Whis, Bardock, Hit, Bojack, Zamasu, or Fu, making for more than a third of all mentors. In Fu's case, the player has to fight both of them by themselves as Fu is conspiciously absent from the fight.]]
* EdibleThemeNaming: In grand ''Dragon Ball'' tradition, his name comes from demi-glace, a French sauce. Then there's the names of his techniques: ''Baked'' Sphere, Bloody ''Sauce'', Darkness ''Mixer'', and so on.
* EvilFormerFriend: Prior to the events of ''Xenoverse'', Demigra was a wizard in the Heavenly Realm who worked alongside Chronoa in raising Tokitoki, however he began plotting and started suspicious research using Tokitoki in a castle - causing a time space distortion. Chronoa noticed that he was acting strange and went to expose his plans and stop him. Demigra and his two wizard allies Putine and Gravy fought Chronoa directly but were defeated and his plans were exposed. Eventually, thanks to his ambitions, Demigra becomes a Demon God. He tried to take over the Time Vault and kidnap Tokitoki, however she managed to stop him, and sealed him away in the Crack of Time.
* EvilIsNotAToy: [[spoiler:His attempt to brainwash Beerus backfires horribly; Beerus himself is ''anything'' but pleased that Demigra was stupid enough to think it would work.]]
* EvilLaugh: Does this frequently.
* EvilRedhead: Has red hair and is ObviouslyEvil.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Lives and breathes this trope. [[spoiler:Until he encounters something he can't manipulate. Then he descends more into more of a [[UnstoppableRage foaming-at-the-mouth berserker rage]].]]
* FieryRedhead: Has red hair and a short temper.
* AGodAmI: Declares himself a God of Time near the end of the game when he [[spoiler:consumes Tokitoki]].
* GodOfEvil: Goes by the title of Demon God. However, all indications point to this being a self-appointed title and he isn't an actual god.
* GreaterScopeVillain: [[spoiler:For the first half of the game, he manipulates Towa and Mira into causing trouble in the timeline so it will weakened the seal in the Crack of Time. He even helps the Future Warrior save Future Trunks to further his plan and to get rid of Towa and Mira the moment they out lived their usefulness. Once they're out of the way, he takes up the role as the game's true BigBad]].
* HeadsIWinTailsYouLose: [[spoiler:His plan to control Beerus will create a huge distortion in history, allowing him to be free, as Beerus would either fall under his control and destroy Earth, or be pissed off enough to fight him then and there, which would distort history anyway...]]
* LargeHam: A tradition with Dragon Ball Villains.
* ManBehindTheMan: [[spoiler:Manipulates Towa and Mira from behind the scenes. Takes the more direct role of BigBad when they are defeated.]]
* ObviouslyEvil: He has a very demonic appearance and radiates a dark purple aura.
* OhCrap:
** [[spoiler:To be fair, this is the reaction anybody should have when the God of Destruction has them in his sights.]]
** [[spoiler:His DummiedOut battle dialogue also reveals he takes one look at [[ReadingsAreOffTheScale Whis]] and recognize he simply ''can't win''.]]
* OneWingedAngel: Has a monstrous Final Form which he uses in the final battle.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: [[spoiler:His locked special battle quote data shows that this is his reaction to fighting Whis. Demigra completely forgoes his usual egomaniacal fare, outright muttering that he's facing the "[[WorldsStrongestMan worst possible opponent]]". Even in his final form in which he is noticeably more pissed and aggressive, Demigra's shouting at Whis not to interfere conspicuously lacks any semblance of death threats.]]
* OpenMouthInsertFoot: [[spoiler:Ohhh, Demigra. You ''really'' thought you could take control of '''[[PhysicalGod Lord]] [[TheDreaded Beerus]]'''. Congrats, it damn near got you smeared across the galaxy.]]
* PunnyName: His Japanese title is "Majin", but it's not exactly written the same way as the race Majin. The race's name means "devil", "demon" or literally "devil people". The "jin" in his title is the kanji for "God" rather than the kanji for "people/person". As you can expect, his title "Majin" means "Demon God", which is used in the English localization. The pun becomes more apparent when you fight him as a Majin in the final battle.
-->"A Majin daring to fight a Majin?"
* SatanicArchetype: He's a previous ally of the BigGood, and his FaceHeelTurn, and subsequent exile (or, in this case, imprisonment) was because he had other, less pure ambitions.
* SlasherSmile: Most of his time on screen has him with a very evil and demonic smile.
* TheSoCalledCoward: Give him credit: while he invokes OhCrap when his brainwashing doesn't affect [[spoiler:Beerus]], Demigra still holds his own against both the former and the Future Warrior afterward. [[spoiler:Even more so since they're just FightingAShadow.]]
* SpoilerOpening: Appears at the opening animation.
* SmugSnake: He thinks he's in control until he isn't, whereupon he goes berserk and tries to remove the problem with his bare hands. He also thinks he's powerful enough to control Beerus, a foolish notion that the God of Destruction shrugs off with ease and then fakes it to draw him out so he can squash him like a bug when he does emerge to gloat.
* SuicidalOverconfidence: Uh…Demigra? [[spoiler:''[[PhysicalGod The God]] [[TheDreaded of Destruction]] [[EvilIsNotAToy is not a toy]].'']]
* VillainousBreakdown: Loses all composure when [[spoiler:the Future Warrior prevents him from destroying the Time Nest and forces him to retreat into the Crack of Time. During he final battle he angrily shouts that he plans to erase the Future Warrior's very existence from time]].
* WalkingSpoiler: [[spoiler:His existence denies Towa and Mira from being the main villains of the story.]]
* WeCanRuleTogether: Offers this to the Future Warrior at the end, promising them power and anything they desired.
* WouldHurtAChild: Has no qualms about manipulating Piccolo to kill Goten and Trunks in the distorted Buu Saga. That said, his goal is to play alchemist god with all of history, so ''every'' child is in danger regardless.
* XanatosSpeedChess: Exploits his imprisonment in the Crack of Time, to become a LeakingCanOfEvil TimeMaster.

-->''Manipulating history is so much fun!''

A fearless youth who likes to distort time events for his own amusement. He is a mutant created from the cells of Towa and Mira, effectively making him their son by proxy.

For any trope regarding Fu in ''Heroes'', see [[Characters/DragonBallHeroesVillains here]].
------
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: DownplayedExample. A good chunk of Fu's dialogue in the English version of ''Xenoverse 2'' is added by his voice actor (Similar to Dameon Clark's interpretation of Cell), making him more of an eccentric dork than his Japanese version, but it's still a pretty faithful interpretation.
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: In ''Online'', where Towa and Mira were a [[UnholyMatrimony couple]], he's their biological son. In ''Xenoverse'', where their relationship is strictly scientist and creation, Fu is instead described as a mutant made using their DNA -- while he could still technically be considered their son, it's strictly in a DesignerBabies way.
* AffablyEvil: He is this to the second Future Warrior. [[spoiler:Later becomes FauxAffablyEvil if you side against him]].
* AgeLift: ''Xenoverse'' aged the once-infant Fu from ''VideoGame/DragonBallOnline'' into a teenager.
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: His skin is purplish, very likely related to Mira's own blue skin.
* AntiVillain: [[spoiler:All he wants is for a timeline to have a good future, doing so by powering up characters aligned with the heroes.]]
* CoolSword: He wields a katana beside the back of his waist, and is proficient with it in combat.
* DefectorFromDecadence: [[spoiler:As it turns out, he ''doesn't'' want to inflict bad futures. He actually finds bad futures boring and gloomy! He gets entirely bored of Dabura's plan and decides to help the heroes from then on.]]
* EvilCounterpart: Since he is Fu, the son of Mira and Towa, then he is Future Trunks' dark counterpart.
** Both youths wear fashionable modern clothes compared to their parents, who are a scientist and a BloodKnight. They are also half-breeds, with Trunks being part Saiyan, part Earthling, while Fu takes elements from different races.
** Both are sword fighters and quite easy on the eyes. However, Trunks is a member of the Time Patrol in order to repair his mistakes, while Fu pretty likely has a dark motive for his actions.
** Both are purple-colored children to blue-colored parents (Trunks when it comes to his hair compared to Bulma's, and Fu when it comes to his skin compared to Towa and Mira).
** Ultimately subverted. [[spoiler:His real goal was to collect energy to not only restore timelines to their proper place (such as denying Demigra being the Supreme Kai of Time), but also to give a timeline a proper place to live.]]
* FourEyesZeroSoul: Subverted. He wears a set of glasses, and appears to be up to no good, but is actually a decent enough guy.
* GratuitousNinja: His overall character design seems inspired by ninja, including his sword resembling the apocryphal ''ninjato'', performing an [[SpinningPileDriver Izuna drop]] for his throw, having unorthodox special moves (including an attack that could best be described as energy {{Caltrops}}) and his Evasive skill resembling a SmokeOut.
* GratuitousSpanish: At one point in the game, instead of his usual "bye bye", he will leave with an overdramatic "Adios! Muchachos!".
* GreaterScopeVillain: He is possibly related to the time anomalies of the Tournament of Destroyers and the Zamasu incident, as Towa, Mira, and Demigra were killed by that point. [[spoiler:He quickly abandons this spot as the true Greater Scope Villain is Dabura.]]
* HeadsIWinTailsYouLose: [[spoiler:He goes to an alternate timeline's Hell and powers up Janemba, stating that it's a world where Goku doesn't come to stop the evil amalgam. However, once the Time Patrollers ''defeat'' Janemba, he drops the reveal that they were ''actually'' in a world where Janemba never appeared in the first place, meaning that whether the Time Patrol beat Janemba or not, Fu would still get the energy from the resulting change in history.]]
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:He gets fed up with the idea of inflicting bad futures and wants to create good futures. It helps him because he can get the energy from temporal changes without the soul-crushing angst bad futures come with.]]
* OhCrapFakeout: His reaction to Beerus threatening to destroy him? Fu ''sarcastically'' freaks out at the notion, implying that not even Gods of Destruction can actually scare him.
* PointyEars: A clue to his possible heritage, as he has the same type of ears as Mira and Dabura, meaning he is possibly a demon just like them.
* PurpleIsPowerful: He's quite the powerful being, with Goku claiming he's as fast as Whis is.
* SmugSmiler: Is described as having a fearless smile.
* StalkerWithoutACrush: [[spoiler:He admits that he's amazed with the Second Time Patroller's power and skill. So much that he expresses interest in taking them home to experiment with their abilities.]]
* TokenEvilTeammate: If you decide to join his side and gather energy for his WhatIf scenarios, he will go out of his way to help the protagonists and fight his EvilUncle Dabura. He even points out the irony that he sounds like a Time Patroller.
* WhatIf: He enjoys What If scenarios. What if the Androids got their revenge on Cell? What if Goku and Vegeta became Super Saiyan 4 instead of Blue? What if Tapion helped Future Trunks against Goku Black and Zamasu? So-on and so-forth. However these changes to him are non-malicious, since he has no intention of actually messing up history like his parents did.
* WildCard: This is Fu's true alignment. He doesn't care about helping his family revive the Demon Realm, only to discover new ways to use the energy absorbed from the changes in history, you know, ForScience (Or whatever). He also wants the somber timelines to have a better conclusion, but, by doing so is messing with the correct charge of history, thus an antagonist to the Time Patrollers. Chronoa, however, tolerates him to an extent since he is still a kid.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: While he never got to appear in ''VideoGame/DragonBallOnline'' besides concept art, Fu was depicted as an infant wearing a horned cap and a bib. Meanwhile, ''Xenoverse 2'' aged him into his teens, traded the baby attire for millennial clothing, and he now sports visible white hair and glasses. Naturally, their color palettes are the only similarities.
