He then has Buu fight in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber since if Gotenks proves unable to beat Buu, he can blow up the door, trapping Buu in another dimension forever. After this fails, he coaches Gotenks through the battle with Super Buu, pointing out Buu's mental weaknesses and urging Gotenks to keep his guard up and attack aggressively; this doesn't work either, as Buu outlasts Gotenks' Super Saiyan 3, but it's likely because of Piccolo that Gotenks was able to get as far as he did. Finally, he opts to take Mr. Satan with him for the next confrontation with Buu despite Trunks' objections because he has "the heart of a hero" and thinks his influence on Buu might prove useful later. This is ultimately shown to be true when Mr. Satan gets Kid Buu to expel Fat Buu, resulting in the latter fighting his evil half and buying the heroes valuable time in the final battle. Super Buu is so impressed by Piccolo that he chooses to absorb him for his intelligence. |
