The Vasquez couple and the young foster boys and girls they're in charge of.

->For tropes applying to the kids' superhero forms in general, see [[Characters/DCEUShazam Shazam - The Shazam Family.]]
----
[[folder:In General]]
----
* AlliterativeName: Most of the kids besides Mary and Eugene have this.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: The foster siblings are a well-behaved group of kids, but they will throw down if they have to.
* ColorCodedCharacters: In casual clothes Billy is red, Freddy is blue, Darla purple, Pedro green, Eugene gray, and Mary is magenta.
* FamilyOfChoice: They're not related by blood, but share strong family bonds all the same. Billy is initially cold to them, but after warming up to them in his Shazam form and finding out that his biological mother abandoned him, he fully considers them as his family.
* FiveTokenBand: The foster family is quite diverse with a white boy (Billy), a white handicapped boy (Freddy), a white girl (Mary), an Asian boy (Eugene), a gay Hispanic boy (Pedro) and a African-American girl (Darla). The mom is also Hispanic, and the father is of mixed ancestry (Samoan and Hungarian Jewish, if his ethnicity matches his actor, but it doesn't come up in the movie).
* {{Foster Kid}}s: All the kids are these. Victor and Rosa themselves were foster kids, which motivated them to become foster parents. The family's dynamic is actually a very nice {{subver|ted trope}}sion to the typical depiction of foster homes as [[WickedStepmother Wicked Step-Parents]], the worst extents of FosteringForProfit and modern-day updates to the OrphanageOfFear; the family [[FamilyOfChoice lives together with a sense of love and collegiality]] no matter how difficult the financial situation can be, and Victor and Rosa legitimately love and care about the kids they have taken on.
* GroupHug: The heartwarming Vasquez family hug seen in the trailers, with Shazam at the center, becomes all the more heartwarming in context, [[spoiler:where Billy--who died in a HeroicSacrifice while his entire family was left to mourn him--is restored to life, and they all delightedly [[TheGlomp pile on]]]].
* OrphanageOfLove: Upon meeting Billy, Freddy tells him that the family seems nice but gets "real ''Series/GameOfThrones''" after a while... only to troll him. That foster family is actually one of the nicest, most loving and most functional ever put to film.
* PositiveFriendInfluence: Billy warms up to them as they nudge him towards being the hero he was chosen to be.
* SuperFamilyTeam: They become this by the climax of the first movie, and continue in ''Fury of the Gods''. Notably, they each initially display separate traits of "SHAZAM" (except Billy, who has all of them to some degree) during their fight with Sivana; while all of them have learned to use all the powers by the sequel, they still have their specialties:
** Billy, the first person to get powers who had them for longer and ''gave'' the others their abilities, is basically a JackOfAllStats, but certainly gets the most chances of anybody to show the [[NighInvulnerable Stamina of Atlas]], as he takes by far the most punishment out of any of them in fights and is able to keep getting up.
** Freddy arguably displays the [[BrassBalls Courage of Achilles]] even well ''before'' he gets powers as well as after, as he snarks at the bullies who beat him up, doesn't seem the least bit concerned about being right next to robbers with guns, and is a DefiantCaptive every time he's kidnapped. In terms of superpowers, he's the first of the five newly-powered siblings to learn how to fly (a superpower he's always wanted), as he starts floating almost immediately after getting abilities, and gets the hang of flying much faster than Billy did.
** Mary likewise probably has the [[SuperIntelligence Wisdom of Solomon]], confirmed to be her specialty, even before gaining magic, as she's the older and wiser eldest sibling of the family and a BrainyBrunette who sometimes acts as the SupportingLeader because of it.
** Darla very quickly displays the [[SuperSpeed Speed of Mercury]] after being powered up, and uses it to save numerous hostages from the Sins. Even in the second movie, once everyone is shown to make copious use of this skill, it seems to be her particular favorite.
** Pedro, TheBigGuy of the kids who has some WeightWoe and works out to gain more muscle, is particularly thrilled to have the [[SuperStrength Strength of Hercules]] and super-jacked body that comes with it. While everybody enjoys and makes use of their vast strength, Pedro in particular primarily seems to fight with punches and even holds an entire Ferris Wheel from falling.
** Eugene, the gamer, quickly demonstrates his aptitude for the [[ShockAndAwe Power of Zeus]], and zaps the Sins with it several times (while delightedly [[CallingYourAttacks calling his attacks]] with video game references). Notably, while all the Shazamily members can presumably use this by the sequel, Eugene's the only one besides Billy himself who does so regularly. (Mary only uses lightning onscreen once, and Freddy, Darla, and Pedro don't at all.)
* TokenMiniMoe: Eugene and Darla are notably younger than the other teenaged foster kids, and their cuteness is milked in any given chance.

One of Billy Batson's foster brothers, his roommate in the Vasquez house and guide to Fawcett Central High School. He befriends Billy after the latter receives his powers.
----
* AccidentalMisnaming: The Wizard initially calls Freddy "Freebie", somewhat combining his first and last names. It then moves into MaliciousMisnaming with calling him "Jeff", even though, as Freddy points out, Anthea had ''just'' addressed him by name a moment before. He's thrilled when the Wizard ''finally'' addresses him correctly later as a sign of respect. [[spoiler:This becomes an affectionate version in the denouement, where the Wizard visits the family and jokingly calls Freddy "Jeff" again.]]
* AdaptationDyeJob: Inverted, they’ve abandoned his blond New 52 look in favor of his earlier black hair. This stays true when he uses the power of Shazam, wherein he doesn't have long blond hair like in the comics.
* AlliterativeName: '''F'''reddy '''F'''reeman.
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Is ostracized by his classmates and picked on by the local bullies. Fortunately, things seem to be shaping up to get better for Freddy in the end.
* AscendedFanboy: A superhero fan who gets to hang out with an actual superhero. Himself later becomes a superhero when Billy shares his powers with his foster siblings.
* AutobotsRockOut: Before going after a stolen armored car, Freddy makes his phone play "[[Music/BeastieBoys Sabotage]]".
* BestFriend: Billy hangs out with him even while transformed.
* BigBrotherInstinct: After Billy rejects Darla calling him her brother, Freddy ends up walking the sulking Darla to class and comforting her.
* BodyguardingABadass: Freddy tries protecting Anthea from a dragon without his powers. Keep in mind she's a Daughter of Atlas and has powers of her own. [[spoiler:Though it's subverted in that they've both gotten a DePower at this point.]]
* BothSidesHaveAPoint: Freddy gets mad at Billy because he seems to take his Shazam powers for granted and mess around being a showoff and coerce people into giving money instead of actually using his powers to help people, while Billy rightfully calling out Freddy for wanting Shazam to stick around with him for selfish reasons that could've risked exposing his true identity and that he needs some personal time as well.
* BrassBalls: Even before gaining the courage of Achilles Freddy shows a distinct lack of fear. He mouths off to bullies when they gang up on him and doesn't seek cover during an armed robbery.
* BroughtDownToBadass: Freddy is incredibly resistant to both Kalypso's MindControl and Ladon's SupernaturalFearInducer breath, even moreso than the Wizard in the former case.
* ButHeSoundsHandsome: Freddy in his superhero alter-ego shamelessly piles on the compliments about himself when talking to Anne. Unusually for this trope, Anne actually compliments Freddy more than Freddy does himself.
* TheChewToy: He's a target for bullies.
* CasanovaWannabe: In his superhero alter ego, he not so subtly tries to showoff to the women he's saving.
* ChivalrousPervert:
** Mild example. He has Billy go inside a strip club as Shazam so he can tell him what he saw. However, when he's gently lead out with a complementary basket of wings with Freddy eagerly asking if Billy saw any boobs, Billy blankly says that they'd need more money which disappoints him. Later when Billy teleports them to the strip club away from Sivana, Freddy is happily walking out covered in glitter.
** During a bridge disaster in ''Fury of the Gods'' Freddy rescues two attractive women and gives a cheeky smirk when they're pressed up against him.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Freddy's empowered self is clad in blue. Fitting given how much he idolizes Superman.
* ComedicSociopathy: He encourages armed robbers to shoot Billy in the face to see if he's bulletproof. He also puts Billy in a box to see if he can teleport then lights the box on fire to see if he's fireproof. It's funny because Billy does have these powers, [[DidntThinkThisThrough otherwise]]...
* ComicBookMoviesDontUseCodenames: He's never referred to as "Captain Marvel Jr/Shazam Jr" during the film.
* ConversationalTroping: Freddy actually talks to Billy about BadPowersGoodPeople (and variants), citing invisibility as something that's ultimately quite creepy to use.
* CurseCutShort: Freddy, upon waking up in a cell in the God Realm, looking out the window, and seeing where he is, says "Holy sh--", which blends into the Wizard's "shhhhh" in response because he's trying to sleep.
* DeadpanSnarker: He's the one who usually cracks the most sarcastic and witty lines.
* DePower: Freddy undergoes this ''twice''. He's the first of the kids to be de-powered the first time when Hespera and Kalypso confront him on the school roof, and they then use him as a hostage against his siblings. He's able to take his powers back when Shazam shows up to rescue him by touching his cane to the staff in the confusion and shouting "Shazam!", but then once the Daughters break through the Rock of Eternity into the human realm with Ladon, he's soon zapped and powered down again right after Darla and Eugene.
* DisabilityNegatingSuperpower: [[PlayingWithATrope Played With.]] Gaining the powers of Shazam makes it where he becomes a FlyingBrick who no longer needs crutches as his SuperpoweredAlterEgo, but it's subtly shown that, unlike comic Freddy who is fully abled when using his powers, movie Freddy's disabled leg doesn't actually get fixed, and instead his {{Flight}} powers make him able to ignore that since he isn't required to walk now.
* DisabledSnarker: In their first conversation, he trolls Billy by claiming "it gets real ''Series/GameOfThrones'' around here", then [[IWasJustJoking cracks up laughing when Billy takes him seriously]] leading into the character quote above.
* DismissiveKick: Delivers one to Billy's speaker when he skips school to go busking, pointing out that he left Freddy at the mercy of the school bullies.
* DistressedDude: Is subjected to this the most out of all the foster kids, and is the ''only'' one of them to directly end up in this position multiple times in both movies. It doesn't help that, thanks to his disability, he can't exactly flee from danger nearly as well as the rest of them.
** In the first movie, while all of Billy's siblings get captured by Sivana twice, Freddy is the first to be caught both times.
*** On the first occasion, Sivana sees Freddy talking to Shazam-Billy on the news, abducts him, and then forces him to bring them back to the Vasquez home, wherein he takes the other kids hostage as well while waiting for Billy to return.
*** The second time at the carnival, Sivana sends the Sins after the siblings, and all of them are captured in quick succession (except for Mary, who lasts a bit longer), starting with Freddy, who's not able to run away well and gets grabbed near-instantly.
** In the sequel, while all of the foster kids except for Billy himself get subjected to a DePower from the Daughters of Atlas, Freddy is the only one to get it ''twice''.
*** The first time, Freddy is used as a hostage by the Daughters and then kidnapped and brought back to their realm, locked in a cell with the Wizard, forcibly interrogated with MindControl by Kalypso, and then he and the Wizard are thrown into a pit to be devoured by the dragon Ladon, surviving solely thanks to Anthea rescuing them. He's freed when Shazam shows up to save him and briefly gets his powers back, only to lose them ''again'' shortly after Darla and Eugene lose theirs.
*** [[spoiler:Later, after Anne has also been BroughtDownToNormal, Kalypso and Ladon have her and Freddy cornered and are about to kill them both, if not for Shazam intervening JustInTime]].
* DoesNotLikeSpam: Along side Billy (who is Shazam), he and Freddy learn the hard way that alcohol is an acquired taste for a reason. After trying one drink, they spit it out in disgust and buy tons of candy and soda instead.
* TheDogBitesBack: After being empowered, he uses this opportunity to give [[TheBully the Breyer Brothers]] suitcase wedgies.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: When introducing him to Billy, Freddy's foster mother asks him not to say something weird. Freddy then ''immediately'' says something weird, followed up with pranking Billy into believing a series of obvious lies about his foster home, like that he was thrown out the window, his foster family secretly hate each other and that he actually has terminal cancer.
* FlippingTheBird: Freddy is fond of giving these out in pairs. First to the Bryer brothers, then to Dr Sivana after gaining his powers.
* FlyingBrick: Freddy's default powerset when Billy shares his power with him. He specializes in flying, but his other physical attributes are not as emphasized.
* GenreSavvy: Due to his knowledge of pretty much every known superhero in their universe, he's fully aware of the tropes and what to and what not to do in regards to being one.
* GoingCommando: Forced into this after the Breyer brothers gave him a suitcase wedgie.
* GoodIsNotNice: He doesn't think twice about rescuing his bullies from a collapsing Ferris wheel -- after all, that's what a superhero ''does'' -- but he's not above delivering them to ground level via suitcase wedgie.
* HandicappedBadass: While his DisabilityNegatingSuperpower doesn't literally un-cripple him while in effect, him still not being able to use his legs does nothing to prevent him from being just as capable and badass as the others when wielding the powers of Shazam.
* HeroesLoveDogs: In his ''Shazamily Matters'' focus story, Superhero Freddy busts up an animal trafficking ring and befriends one of the dogs, which he names Blue.
* HeroicWillpower: Freddy emphasizes that his "SHAZAM" specialty is the Courage of Achilles through this.
** Kalypso, whose Power of Chaos abilities give her a CompellingVoice that induces MindControl, uses this on Freddy to command him to reveal his family's identities. Despite it clearly being horribly painful, he's able to resist it for a very long time (even blurting out fakes like "Destiny's Child") before finally barely stammering out just Billy's name before the note from his siblings arrives and Hespera stops the interrogation, meaning he never names the other kids at all.
** Ladon's breath is explicitly stated to cause an aura of paralytic fear to its prey, as Freddy and the Wizard both experience. [[spoiler:But once he and Anthea have both been [[DePower de-powered]] and Kalypso and Ladon have cornered Anne and are about to kill her, Freddy fights through the effects of the dragon's breath to reach Anne's side and attempt to defend her.]]
* HeroWorshipper: His fondness and admiration for superheroes is the main source of {{Continuity Nod}}s in ''SHAZAM!''. To wit:
** He admires and worships Superman and has several pieces of memorabilia at home, including a cap, a t-shirt and a cup, all with the "S" symbol. He also has a ''Time'' magazine with [[Film/ManOfSteel the Black Zero (General Zod's ship)]] on its cover, a Daily Planet cover about [[Film/BatmanVSupermanDawnOfJustice Superman being]] HauledBeforeASenateSubCommittee and another about [[Film/JusticeLeague2017 Superman's return]]. He even owns a bullet that bounced on the Man of Steel.
** He seems to admire the Justice League overall, what with his batarang replica, Batman action figure, Aquaman sweatshirt and Wonder Woman t-shirt.
* HiddenPurposeTest: PlayedForLaughs when Freddy has Billy hide in a cardboard box, obstensibly for the purpose of testing whether Billy can teleport into a nearby box. Freddy's notebook then reveals that he is actually testing whether Billy is immune to fire, which he does by setting the box on fire.
* HowDareYouDieOnMe: A quite tragic example. [[spoiler:Freddy finds Billy's body among the ashes remaining after the latter won the battle. When he realizes it's not a DisneyDeath and his best friend/brother really is dead, he tearfully shouts "You asshole!" and [[CryIntoChest starts sobbing into Victor's chest]].]]
* {{Hypocrite}}: He chastises Billy for selfishly showing off with his powers outside instead of showing up at school in this form, where he got the "suitcase wedgie" treatment from the Breyer brothers instead of an awesome moment where he (Freddy) would get the privilege to introduce the new superhero in town to everyone. That's the same guy who filmed Billy-as-Shazam all day long before and put it all on Website/YouTube to get a lot of views. Billy even calls him out on breaking his own rule on letting people know he's associated with him when he pointed out earlier that the hero's loved ones are the perfect bad guy target. This comes back and bites him when Sivana sees him and Billy, as Shazam, on the news together and he takes him and his siblings hostage.
* HypocriteHasAPoint: Regardless of his own motives or actions, Freddy was right in pointing out that Billy endangered civilians by showing off his powers, and in general has mostly just been using said abilities for his own selfish gain.
* InSeriesNickname: Freddy's GiverOfLameNames tendency is apparently going strong in ''Fury of the Gods'', as he's chosen "Captain Everypower" as the name for his own Shazam form.
* {{Keet}}: Easily the most hyperactive of the foster kids. Him becoming his own Shazam avatar is even more so hyperactive.
* KnightOfCerebus: Inverted. His ''Series/GameOfThrones'' line pivots from what was going to look like a grimdark tone to a big red cheesefest.
* KnowNothingKnowItAll: Freddy may have more booksmarts than Billy, but he's still 14 at the end of the day. His "Superhero Syndrome" theory being an example:
-->''"Coined by German psychologist Heinrich Von German-something, where superpowers become an all-consuming narcotic."''
* TheLancer: The sibling Billy is closest with, but also the one he argues with the most. Freddy is GenreSavvy with no powers, where Billy is powerful but [[HowDoIShotWeb directionless]], at least until the end of the first movie when both of these things change.
* LikeAnOldMarriedCouple: Mary describes him and Billy arguing as a sign of them growing closer, like brothers.
* MagicPants: Unlike the original film where his no-longer-needed crutch fell to the ground when he got his powers, by this one (possibly after practicing with it for the past few years), Freddy's cane transforms with him when he turns into Captain Everypower, and just like with the rest of his clothes, he has it back once he turns into a teen again, which also means he doesn't have to worry about carrying it around with him in superpowered mode.
* MayflyDecemberRomance: The 17-year-old Freddy quickly develops mutual feelings for Anne, who, despite ''looking'' like she's around his age, is [[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld actually six thousand years old]].
* MotorMouth: He's pretty talkative and tends to stumble over his words from talking so fast when he gets excited, and loves to gush about superheroes and other nerdy things.
* MythologyGag: Freddy has apparently taken the superhero name of "Captain Everypower" and falsely calls Shazam-Billy his sidekick, "Captain Everypower Jr.". This is both a reference and reversal of how, when Billy's superhero form was originally known as Captain Marvel, Freddy's was Captain Marvel, Jr.
* NoodleIncident: How he got disabled is anyone’s guess. The only scenario that is ruled out is Freddy being thrown out a window by his foster siblings, which was a joke he told at Billy's expense.
* OddFriendship: Freddy and the Wizard form one when they're in captivity together in the God Realm. The latter at first finds the former very annoying, but gradually softens towards and becomes protective of him, especially after seeing [[HeroicWillpower how well he withstands Kalypso's Powers of Chaos]]. Freddy is thrilled when the Wizard finally proves that yes, he does remember his name. [[spoiler:At the end, the Wizard (who is now living on Earth and has totally changed his appearance) visits the family, Freddy is particularly happy to see him and greets him with a hug, and the Wizard playfully calls him "Jeff" again.]]
* PleaseWakeUp: [[spoiler:Done by Freddy once he finds Billy's inert body after the climactic battle, becoming increasingly shaken and desperate until he realizes his brother really is dead, at which point he breaks down in sobs.]]
* PopCulturedBadass: Freddy is GenreSavvy enough to figure out that Billy can transform by yelling "Shazam!" as well as Mr. Sivana's weakness. He also makes quite a few pop culture references.
* PowerPerversionPotential: Freddy loves talking about superpowers. At one point he tries to start a conversation with Billy about how invisibility is seen as a villain power because it instills a sense of paranoia in people. Freddy also demonstrates he's not above this when he tries to get Billy in his superhero form to go into a strip club and relay what he saw.
* PreciousPhoto: [[spoiler:After Billy dies and the family has buried him in the God Realm, Freddy puts a picture of the two of them together, taken around the time of the first movie, on his grave as a memento. Presumably he took it back once Billy came back to life soon after.]]
* RedOniBlueOni: The hyperactive MotorMouth Red Oni to Billy's sullen and reserved Blue Oni. Ironically, their [[ColorCodedCharacters signature colours]] are blue and red respectively, though Freddy does own a lot of merchandise with the Superman logo on it.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: As Billy begins to take the superhero gig for granted, busking for money by performing stunts with lightning, hacking [=ATMs=] or enjoying adult-only leisures, Freddy, after being forced to fend for himself against two bullies, complains to Billy that he's being selfish and only cares about the money he's making off his superpowers.
* SecretlySelfish: During Billy and Freddy's fight, Freddy calls out Billy for letting his powers [[SmugSuper go to his head]], but Billy is entirely correct when he counters that Freddy is willing to go back on his previous words and flaunt his association to Shazam to get popular with his classmates.
* {{Squee}}: He does this a lot when he meets Billy as Shazam for the first time, and one towards the end of the film when Shazam brings [[TheCameo Superman to the cafeteria to eat lunch with Freddy.]]
* ToxicFriendInfluence: A mild example, but he doesn't exactly discourage Billy's standoffish behavior with all those viral videos and indeed gleefully enjoys the perks of Billy's Shazam form; he doesn't start getting snippy until Billy starts getting irritated in turn with Freddy's clinginess and willingness to break his own previously-established rules about Billy's secret identity for his own benefit.
* {{Troll}}: He likes to mess around with people, especially Billy -- being Shazam notwithstanding. His first interaction with Billy is scaring him with dark things like how he got thrown from a window, has terminal cancer, or that the household can get pretty "Game of Thrones". When Billy became Shazam, Freddy tricks him into believing that he has invisibility to watch him acting idiotic when he was, in fact, still visible. Also, during one of the power tests, he secretly lights the box Shazam is hiding in on fire to test whether or not he is fire-resistant.
* TurnTheOtherCheek: While Freddy does have his limits, he's actually rather patient with a lot of Billy's early antagonistic attitude.
* VitriolicBestBuds: The closer Freddy and Billy become, the more they bicker LikeAnOldMarriedCouple, but consider each other best friends and, by the end of the first movie, true brothers.

One of Billy Batson's foster sisters, and the eldest of the Vasquez fosters.
----
* AgeLift: She and Billy are pre-teen twins in the comics and most media. Here, Mary is in her late teens while Billy is about to turn fifteen.
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: She always appears collected.
* AlternateSelf: Has one on [[Series/{{Smallville}} Earth-167]].
* BigSisterInstinct: She gets very protective of her foster family, whether that be from bullies or Sivana himself, and is extremely defensive of their youngest, Darla. Mary even risks her life or puts herself in harms way if it means keeping the other kids safe.
* BrainyBrunette: Smart enough to be able to get accepted into Caltech, and is able to figure out by looking at a newscast and putting together other events she witnessed that Billy is Shazam. She also figured out that if they lure out all the Seven Deadly Sins from Sivana then he'll be powerless.
* CastingGag: Her actress made a career playing a younger TimeShiftedActor to various main characters. Here, she's the main actress for the character who gets an OlderAlterEgo.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Averted -- she's the only sibling wearing the same red as Billy when using the Power of Shazam. Incidentally she does own a white sweater, corresponding to her alternate costume from the comics.
* ComicBookMoviesDontUseCodenames: Much like with Freddy, she's never referred to as "Mary Marvel/Lady Shazam" during the film.
* CoolBigSis: She's shown to be a good older sister to her foster siblings, and they all generally like her.
* CoverInnocentEyesAndEars: Mary protects Darla's innocence when they're accidentally teleported into a strip club.
* DemotedToExtra: She's Billy's most prominent sibling in the comic books and most media. Here, Freddy takes the role. And when Billy's foster siblings finally get their powers, Mary is notably the most OutOfFocus while the rest get to showcase them. The actress who plays her superhero form revealed that her scenes were cut for time.
* DePower: Mary dodges numerous shots as she tries to flee with the golden apple, but is finally hit in midair after blasting Ladon with lightning, and nearly falls to her death until Shazam saves her.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: When Freddy tells Anne he's a personal friend of "the hot one" on the Shazam team, Anne immediately assumed he meant Mary.
* {{Foil}}: Out of all the orphans, she provides the sharpest contrast to Billy. Billy initially kept everyone at a distance, looked out only for himself and acted irresponsibly. Mary is firmly attached to her foster family, puts others before herself and is the most mature family member after their foster parents.
* HeroesLoveDogs: Mary has a part-time job walking dogs.
* HiddenDepths: She secretly cares for her family, and is distressed when she learns her college degree means she may have to leave them.
* HypercompetentSidekick: Played with. There's no clear hierarchy among the siblings, but they generally see Billy as their nominal leader because he was the one chosen by the Wizard. However, everyone acknowledges that Billy usually asks Mary what she thinks he should do.
** In the second film, Mary was the most effective at saving people from the collapsing Benjamin Franklin Bridge - Billy was busy bantering with civilians, Freddy was busy flirting, Darla spent some time distracted by (and stealing) some kittens, Pedro tried to lift one of the cables to relieve stress on the bridge, and Eugene was trying to fuse the broken cables together. Meanwhile, Mary wasted no time to use her flight and superspeed to get people out of danger and saved by far the most civilians.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: Downplayed with Mary. She's perfectly happy to be involved in the superheroics of the family and enjoys having powers as much as the rest of them, but she's also officially an adult now and can't help but sometimes feel trapped by sticking with a bunch of younger kids. This especially isn't helped by the reveal that she didn't end up going to college despite being accepted into Caltech in the previous movie--presumably deciding to pass on the opportunity in order to stay with her family--with the implication that she somewhat regrets/resents this. During one of the family meetings, Mary all but confirms that she was out drinking with some friends her own age the previous night. [[spoiler:At the end, she's shown wearing an Oxford sweatshirt at dinner, indicating that she may finally be moving past this and reaching a happy medium by going to college while still seeing her family often.]]
* ImprobableAimingSkills: She grabs a carnival game gun and comes within a hair's breadth of nailing Dr Sivana in the eye. And those duck shooting guns aren't nearly that accurate, especially at that range.
* InformedFlaw: [[WordOfSaintPaul Her actress]], Michelle Borth, revealed she's uptight and grew up too fast, and "has lost the capability of just relaxing, having fun, and letting loose and being a teenager". But when she transforms into her superhero form, "she knows how to have fun. She's got her confidence back. She knows how to let her hair down. She knows just how to embrace life, and she's not so worried anymore". We never get to see this side of her due to her small screen time.
* {{Irony}}: Mary tells Billy that nothing can last forever... while standing in the Rock Of ''Eternity''.
* LeftHanging: Mary's attempts at getting into Caltech, the college of her dreams, comprises her arc for the first half of the movie. Later, it's revealed that she's been accepted but is now experiencing torn emotions about the idea of leaving behind her foster family. By the end of the film, it's unresolved if she decided to take the opportunity or not.
* MiniDressOfPower: Mary has a skirt on her outfit, unlike Darla.
* OffscreenRomance: Mary's got a boyfriend who plays football, but he doesn't get a chance to physically appear due to her family's antics being extremely unsafe for civilians.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: She's depicted as the rock of the family at first, but the combination of her Caltech application finally going through and ''almost getting run over by a truck'' [[HeroicBSOD sends her into an emotional breakdown.]]
* PrimaryColorChampion: Like Billy, her superhero outfit's colors are red, white, and yellow.
* RedIsHeroic: Her superhero outfit is mainly red.
* TheRunaway: Victor revealed that she ran away twice until she found the Vasquez as her home.
* SecretSecretKeeper: Briefly. She figures out Billy is the new superhero in Philadelphia shortly before Sivana confronts the Vasquezes.
* StandardizedLeader: Mary fits the trope more than Billy does, being older, wiser and more grounded with an evenly-balanced powerset, while everyone else besides her and Billy, specializes in one particular power.
* SuperIntelligence: According to DVD special features, this is what her special power is -- the Wisdom of Solomon.
* SureLetsGoWithThat: Mary is very clearly hungover in one of the family meetings, wearing sunglasses and scolding Billy for "talking so loud." She initially claims to her younger siblings that this is because she had an "eye doctor appointment" to keep it appropriate for them, but then she and Billy talk about how she had a fun time and did, in fact, get to meet other young people her own age, thank you very much. A confused Darla asks "Wait, you made new friends at the eye doctor?" and Billy starts to correct her before doing a VerbalBackspace and agreeing. It then gets a BrickJoke later when Darla tells Hespera after they think they've defeated her that she should have gone to the eye doctor.

One of Billy Batson's foster brothers.
----
* AsianAndNerdy: He wears glasses, is introduced while playing a video game, hacks a government database to find Billy's birth parents, and later mimes a KamehameHadoken attack at one point. He also shouts "hadouken" when he's firing lightning bolts in his transformed state.
* BoisterousWeakling: He's got quite the mouth on him when he's playing videogames, but when it comes to reality he's as weak as he looks.
* BrainyBrunette: A black haired young boy who managed to find Billy's birth mother via hacking a government database.
* ChildProdigy: Eugene is around elementary school age and is a hacking prodigy.
* ColorCodedCharacters: His adult form is clad in gray, fitting for someone whose aptitudes are in technology.
* CoveredInGunge: One of Eugene's recent adventures left him slathered in some mystery goo. He suspects it might be toxic once he starts to itch.
* DisabilityNegatingSuperpower: To go with his status as TheSmartGuy, he has slight eye problems that make him need to [[SmartPeopleWearGlasses wear sight-correcting glasses that emphasize his intelligence]]. The powers of Shazam fix those problems, so he goes around without glasses as his SuperpoweredAlterEgo.
* FlatEarthAtheist: Downplayed. When Darla states her love for unicorns early in the movie, Eugene scoffs that they don't exist. In the third act, Darla asks Steve what the monsters from the Tree of Life are afraid of, and it responds with "unicorns"; Eugene at first repeats his belief that they're not real, but after looking out the van window and seeing all the ''other'' monsters running around in the streets, quickly retracts this and admits it's not so far-fetched after all.
* GameMaster: Introduced playing a video game and is said to be good at it.
* HiddenDepths: Eugene's spotlight story in ''Shazamily Matters'' reveals that he often feels like he's TheUnfavorite when it comes to Rosa. After a bit of soul-searching he realizes any hatred she might show for him was all in his head and that he's not the easiest kid to deal with.
* IKnowMortalKombat: Although claiming he is not a hacker, Eugene admits that he does play Watch_Dogs and Uplink and may have picked up some skills that got him "into federal databases most people can't get into". He then provides Billy with [[spoiler:detailed information about his parents]].
* KamehameHadoken: He shouts "Hadoken" while mimicing the move during the FinalBattle using his newfound lightning powers.
* NWordPrivileges: As pretty much the first Asian superhero at this point, Eugene proudly declares that he's "broken the noodle glass ceiling". When called out on how racist that sounds, he just says it's okay for him since he's of Asian descent.
* ShockAndAwe: He primarily uses this power when Billy shares his powers with his foster siblings.
* TheSmartGuy: He's the smartest and most tech-savvy of the kids; he was the one to track down Billy's real parents, which entailed hacking into a government database.
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: Rectangular shaped ones and us the most tech-savvy of his family.
* WhatTheFuAreYouDoing: He attempts to defend Freddy from the Breyer Brothers at one point with nunchuks, but accidentally [[EpicFail hits himself in the head with them]].

One of Billy Batson's foster brothers.
----
* AlliterativeName: '''P'''edro '''P'''eña.
* AmbiguouslyGay: He says the strip club is "not his thing", but given the context of the conversation, he could be replying to Darla claiming she liked the music in there. ''Shazamily Matters'' seemingly confirms this when Pedro fawns over a player's looks, with Pedro coming out to his family in ''Fury of the Gods''.
* TheBigGuy: He's overweight, making him the largest of the kids and when he's transformed with the powers of Shazam, he also has the largest muscles, and relies the most on SuperStrength.
* ColorCodedCharacters: His superhero form is clad in green. As Pedro is a fitness junkie, it brings to mind vegetable drinks and sports grounds.
* DePower: Pedro is hit and de-powered during the meeting-turned-fight with Hespera and Kalypso, and has to be brought back to the Rock of Eternity by his siblings. Notably, when Victor and Rosa find out that their kids are actually superheroes, Pedro is the only one in his normal form during this time, as he can't transform like the rest of them currently can.
* EverybodyKnewAlready: When the Shazamily, all of whom are currently in Shazam form except Pedro, decide that they need to "confess" to Victor and Rosa, the rest of the kids admit that they're superheroes, but Pedro misunderstands and instead confesses that he's gay. His parents and siblings all gently assure him that they already knew, making it clear that they love and support him, and he smiles in relief.
* HiddenDepths: He comes across as either unaware or uninterested, but when he finds Billy's discarded notebook filled with names and addresses, he figures out that Billy is trying to find his mother and enlists in Eugene's assitance to help this kid he barely knows.
* IReadItForTheArticles: Pedro is shown reading sports magazines throughout the movie. The very first time we see him doing this, he's ogling a shirtless baseball player, which naturally sets up his coming out to his family right before the third act.
* ManlyFacialHair: Pedro grows one in his transformed state, fitting his role as TheBigGuy of the team.
* TheQuietOne: The most introverted of his siblings. Not so much when he's in his superpowered form.
* SuperStrength: He primarily uses this power when Billy shares his powers with his siblings, trying to prevent a Ferris wheel from collapsing and performing a PunchCatch against Wrath.
* TwoferTokenMinority: He is Latino and gay.
* WeightWoe: He's an overweight boy who seems to have some sort of insecurity about it, judging by the barbell weights said to be his at one point. He's obviously elated by his superpowered (and super ''ripped'') form later on.

----
* AgeLift: Downplayed. Close to pre-teen in the comic books and most adaptations, she specifically mentioned she's nine during the time of her introduction.
* AlliterativeName: '''D'''arla '''D'''udley.
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: She's the youngest of the Vasquez fosters. This is why [[CoverInnocentEyesAndEars Mary covers her eyes when the foster siblings]] [[ItMakesSenseInContext teleport into a strip club]].
* BadassAdorable: Retains her bright and sweet sunshine personality even in her formidable adult "Shazam" form.
* {{Badbutt}}: When the team capture Hespera, Darla handles feeding her. It turns out Darla's idea of prison gruel are yellow Skittles.
* BlatantLies: After the kids return home from the bridge collapse, Darla has one of the kittens she rescued tucked into her sweater. Victor asks, "Is that a kitten?" and Darla just pauses, [[ImplausibleDeniability says "Nope!"]], and keeps walking.
* BondOneLiner: "Taste the rainbow, [[CurseCutShort mother-]]"
* CannotKeepASecret:

-->'''Freddy:''' [[BluntYes No.]]
** Ultimately [[DownplayedTrope downplayed]] as while she ''can'' keep a secret, namely Billy's alter ego, it is shown to be difficult for her.
* CastingGag: She is a child character whose adult superhero form is played by Creator/MeaganGood, a FormerChildStar herself before her career has gotten better since her childhood.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Her superhero form is clad in purple and she's the girliest of the siblings.
* CutenessProximity: Darla with the basket of kittens that she saves during the bridge collapse, such that she brings one home with her for the day before eventually bringing it back to its owners.
* TheCutie: She's adorable, sweet and cheerful.
* TheGlomp: Victor describes her as a "big hugger." Literally the first thing she does onscreen is hug new foster brother Billy before he's even said a word to her.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Unsurprisingly. Not only does Darla start out by rescuing a basket of adorable kittens during the collapse of the bridge before coming back for their owners, but she's also able to befriend the unicorns, despite the Wizard's warning that they hate humans, by feeding them Skittles.
* HeartwarmingOrphan: Darla's the perkiest and most innocent of the foster kids.
* MeaningfulName: Darla means "darling" or "dear one." She's very sweet and the rest of the family dotes on her.
* MotorMouth: She's described as speaking a lot when she wants to avoid being distressed. She's really effective at it...
-->'''Darla:''' Silence makes me uncomfortable.\
'''Eugene:''' ''(wryly)'' She's almost never uncomfortable.
* NiceGirl: Possibly the nicest person in the whole ''SHAZAM!'' movie. When Freddy's hesitant to call Billy "a dick," he instead says that Billy was "the opposite of how Darla is," and Billy immediately understands what he meant, showing that Darla's practically synonymous with niceness.
* PhysicalGod: Darla takes it further than her siblings when ''Shazamily Matters'' reveals that she created a living fantasy world entirely by accident.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Her Shazam outfit is purple.
* SarcasticConfession: As all the kids leave the house to head out to the bridge rescue, their parents (who, at this point, still don't know they're superheroes) ask where they're going. They struggle to come up with an excuse before Darla replies "To fight crime"[[labelnote:*]](which, in fact, ''isn't'' accurate in this case, since the crisis is caused by an accident rather than a crime)[[/labelnote]]; her siblings give her a slight look, but Victor and Rosa clearly assume she's kidding and bid them goodbye.
* SecretKeeper: She becomes the only other one of Billy's foster siblings to learn he's gained the powers of Shazam. She gleefully brags about having been able to keep it a secret when Mary figures it out.
* SleevesAreForWimps: She's the only one to have bare arms as part of her Shazam form.
* SuperSpeed: She primarily uses this power when Billy shares his powers with his siblings.
* TastesLikeFriendship: Darla is able to tame the human-hating unicorns and enlist their help to defeat the rest of the monsters by feeding them her Skittles, after learning from Steve that unicorns love sweet things like ambrosia and reasoning that this is the closest thing they've got. (Luckily, it works).
* WomanChild: Naturally, Darla in her superhero form is a pre-teen girl in an adult woman's body.

* BookDumb: In the first film, Billy and Freddy were fourteen years old and the Breyers were old enough to drive. In the sequel, Billy and Freddy are seventeen years old, and the Breyers are still in high school.
* {{The Bull|y}}ies: Lay a beatdown on Freddy Freeman for no apparent reason other than they can. [[LaserGuidedKarma It bites them in the ass]] when Billy [[BullyHunter sees it]].
* BullyBrutality: They hit Freddy with their truck, and use the fact the impact was severe enough to leave a scratch on the paint as a reason to beat him down.

* DirtyCoward: One doesn't get the impression that they're badasses when they go two-on-one against Freddy, who's younger and smaller than they are on top of ''being crippled''.
* DisproportionateRetribution: They beat the living crap out of Freddy for scratching their truck, even when it was ''their'' fault for almost ''running him over''. Then again, [[{{Jerkass}} it's not like they even need a reason to begin with]].
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: They're HateSink bullies who get their comeuppance when the movie's superhero protagonist uses his SuperStrength to wreck their vehicle. Kind of like Ludlow, the truck driver who harassed a waitress and tried to provoke Clark Kent in ''Film/ManOfSteel''.
* ForTheEvulz: Their basic m.o. Brett and Burke would often go out of their way to spite or embarrass Billy and his foster siblings, just because they can. They are not even given a FreudianExcuse for their actions.
* HateSink: We can’t really hate Dr. Sivana due to his sympathetic traits and his longing to be out of his family’s shadow, so these two assholes basically exist for audiences to hate and feel happy when they get their comeuppance.
* {{Jerkass}}: They're bullies who constantly antagonize Freddy and have no redeeming qualities.
* LackOfEmpathy: They not only have zero qualms against physically assaulting a disabled kid, but they are perfectly willing to mock said disabled kid for not having a mom.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Basically, they ''will'' be made to pay for their misdeeds sooner or later. No exceptions.
** They beat up Freddy, only to be on the receiving end of getting beat up by Billy.
** It also leads to Billy getting the Power of Shazam, and afterwards he wrecks their truck.
** They give Freddy a suitcase wedgie across school when Shazam fails to show up. When Freddy gets his Shazam form in the final battle, he saves the two... [[EmbarrassingRescue while flying them away via suitcase wedgies.]]
* LowerClassLout: While they are an UpperClassTwit pair, appearance-wise and mannerism-wise they look like a couple of hick thugs.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: The fact that they [[BullyingTheDisabled singled out Freddy of all kids to bully]] is not lost on anyone.
* SiblingsInCrime: The brothers have no qualms BullyingTheDisabled, and their methods warrant jail time.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Credited as "Breyer", while the comics previously spelled their surname "Bryer".
* TeensAreMonsters: Their treatment of Freddy often reaches criminal levels.
* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: They seem outright intent on killing Freddy in their introduction scene. It's a wonder why they never got expelled from school after that.
* UpperClassTwit: They have a nice truck courtesy of their dad, [[WatchThePaintJob which Billy wrecks to teach them a lesson]].
* VeryPunchableMan: Their comeuppances are very satisfying to see.
* WatchThePaintJob: They hit Freddy hard enough with their truck for him to leave a scratch and use it as an excuse to beat him up. This is returned by Billy completely wrecking their truck.

* MeaningfulName: Billy mispronounced his name as "Moron", which isn't too far from the mark, considering he doesn't question how a student carrying a trenchcoat could just walk out of his sight, a flash of lighting could just come out of nowhere and a man could walk in wearing the exact same trenchcoat ''in a world with superpowered beings''.
* NoRespectGuy: Billy and Freddy blatantly skip school under his watch using a very unconvincing cover that Moran only buys because Billy's ability to turn into an adult was able to fool him. 394* MirrorCharacter: His pitch to Billy strongly reminds the latter of the speech that the Wizard gave him before bestowing his powers. Coach Whiz even tells Billy to lay his hands on the school's spirit stick.

A social worker tasked with finding Billy Batson a foster home.

* CharacterOverlap: While he might have been joking, [[https://twitter.com/ponysmasher/status/1076956013306306570 according]] to David Sandberg Andi Osho's character is Emma from ''Film/LightsOut2016''.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Arranging for Billy to live with the Vasquez couple introduces him to Freddy Freeman and the other foster kids. When Billy goes to school with them, he ends up helping them deal with two bullies, which gains the attention of Shazam and leads to Billy gaining superpowers. Billy would then hone his powers thanks to Freddy's guidance and Billy would then share his powers with the other foster kids, leading to the defeat of Dr. Sivana and the Sveen Deadly Sins. On a smaller note, this decision ended up accelerating Billy's quest to find his biological mother and redefining his character for the better.

Billy Batson's biological mother.
----
* AdaptationalJerkass: In the comics, Marilyn Batson was a case of DeceasedParentsAreTheBest and was nothing like her DCEU counterpart.
* AlternateSelf: Has one on [[Series/{{Smallville}} Earth-167]].
* BrokenPedestal: Billy realizes the loving mother he remembered was just through the eyes of a child.
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: The compass she gave Billy was his most prized possession. When he gives it back, she doesn't recognize it. It ''had'' been years, and she likely only got it for him as a consolation prize since she couldn't win the stuffed tiger he wanted.
* BurgerFool: When Billy meets her after years of being separated from her, she wears a red shirt with her forename on a label stuck on it, indicating she's a fast food restaurant waitress or something similar. Also, Billy found her in a subsidized housing complex (this is what low-income workers like herself tend to live in).
* DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou: {{Deconstructed|Trope}}. Billy believes this for a large portion of the film (or rather, that it was his fault that they got separated and Marilyn had a good reason for not finding him). But when he finally finds her and moves to hug her for the first time in eleven years, she doesn't return the gesture, seems more upset that this is an inconvenient time for her than happy to see the child she supposedly loved, and overall gives the impression that her claims of abandoning him so he could have a better life without her are more to justify her actions to herself. However, rather than being a heartwarming gesture, Billy is emotionally crushed and no longer sees her as his mother since he searched all those years for her for nothing.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Marilyn was a pregnant teenager who was kicked out by her parents. Her boyfriend abandoned her within three years, claiming he no longer wanted to be part of their lives and was later jailed. Overwhelmed with the stress of raising a young boy with no support, she impulsively abandoned him after seeing he was found by the police. And for the last eleven years, she has apparently been in loveless relationships and a dead-end job.
* DecompositeCharacter: "Marilyn" can be shortened down to "Mary". This means that Mary Batson and Mary Bromfield exist in the same continuity, though their relationship to Billy (and the entire characterization of one) deviate from the source material.
* DomesticAbuse: When Billy finds her, she lives in an apartment with a partner who is, at the very least, verbally abusive.
* FreudianExcuse: She was abandoned by her parents for getting pregnant at a young age and running off with her boyfriend, who was arrested and she was left to care for Billy alone. While he doesn't call her out on it, Billy is clearly not at all sympathetic to her thinking that it justifies abandoning a toddler.
* HatesBeingTouched: She blocks Billy's attempt at a hug and keeps her arms folded the entire time they speak.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Disowned by her parents for having a child before the age of 17... and then abandoned her toddler son simply because he was an inconvenience.
* IHaveNoSon: She is both on the receiving and giving end of this. Her parents disowned her, as she mentions they wouldn't give any support for her and her son. In turns, she abandons Billy at a very young age and refuses to reunite with him after over a decade. Later on, [[YoureNotMyMother Billy himself no longer sees her as the mother he thought she was]].
* InNameOnly: Her name can be shortened down to Mary Batson, but beyond that she has nothing in common with the original Mary Marvel, being Billy's mother instead of his sister and having a seriously flawed character.
* ItsAllAboutMe: While she claims she left Billy with the police because she felt he would be better off that way, the fact that she didn't attempt to properly hand off custody of him to the state and ensure he'd have a stable environment (and she could still visit him) shows she cared more about unburdening herself from being a parent than his well-being.
* {{Jerkass}}: Not only did she abandon a helpless toddler under the reasoning that he would be "safer" with the police (ignoring that it led Billy to the mercy of the foster care system), but she was cold-hearted towards Billy once the latter tried to reunite with her.
* KarmaHoudini: Downplayed; anyone who abandons an infant child in real life would see some serious jail time. She's miraculously evaded that fate, but between her dead-end job and loveless, abusive relationship, she ain't exactly living the good life. Billy doesn’t even reprimand her for her actions, if only because he now realizes that she's so selfish and uncaring that any attempt at CallingTheOldWomanOut at this point would just be a waste of time and effort.
* KickTheDog: When Billy meets up with her after spending the past eleven years looking for her, she awkwardly refuses to engage with him as he tries to hug her.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Marilyn abandoned Billy as a kid, and when he found her again, her life, which she had thought would be better with Billy not in the picture, is even worse than before.
* LowerClassLout: She is found living in a troubled neighborhood full of them and her new abusive partner is one too. She herself could qualify following her TeenPregnancy, then ditching Billy to help herself, making her current stay well-deserved.
* MissingMom: To Billy, as they've been separated for eleven years.
* MoralMyopia: Marilyn's parents kicked her out of the house while she was pregnant with Billy, yet she herself does not see the consequences of leaving behind her own toddler son without telling him.
* NeverMyFault: She never considers the possibility that Billy might have had a troubled upbringing after she left him, and interprets his finding her as self-assurance that he was fine without her.
* ParentalAbandonment: She abandoned Billy at the fair when he was a toddler, not feeling capable of raising him when his father was in prison. When they reunite nearly a decade later, she's unable (or unwilling) to make him a part of her life, outright telling him that "this isn't a good time for [her]".
* ParentalNeglect: The fact she left Billy without even telling him -- regardless that he ''was'' with the police at the time -- has her quite guilty of this.
* ParentsAsPeople: Billy's [[DelusionsOfParentalLove memory of her is that of an ideal, if not perfect mom]]. But when he reunites with her, she has to set the record straight by telling him the harsh, yet understandable truth: she abandoned Billy due to the combined toll of a deadbeat partner, teenage pregnancy, and getting kicked out of her house for said pregnancy. While Billy is [[BrokenPedestal heartbroken by this revelation]], he magnanimously doesn't call her out on her behavior but instead leaves her behind to embrace his new family.
* PetTheDog: Regardless of what she did to him, she did try to assure Billy that what happened at the fair wasn't his fault.
* ShedTheFamilyName: She reverted to her maiden name and shed the name "Batson" after Billy's father left her since it was his family name. This is the reason why Billy has never been able to find her until the day Eugene Choi told him about this fact.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: She only shows up in the movie for two scenes, yet she shows a major importance to Billy's CharacterDevelopment and contribution to his troubled upbringing.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: She's a PosthumousCharacter in the comic books and most media, whether she was killed in a car crash or murdered.
* StrugglingSingleMother: She abandoned Billy when his father was in prison and she felt she couldn't raise him on her own.
* TeenPregnancy: Her parents kicked her out when she was 17 and pregnant with Billy.
* TroubledAbuser: Downplayed. While "abuser" might be pushing it, she certainly didn't come off as thoughtful towards Billy given her distant attitude when he wanted to reconcile with her and her callous abandonment of him when he was young. However, she was shown to have a rather difficult life herself since both her parents disowned her for having Billy young and her boyfriend ended up getting incarcerated, thus receiving absolutely no support in raising her son.
* UnrelatedInTheAdaptation: Mary is not her daughter in this version.
* WalkingSpoiler: Almost everything about her is as much a surprise to the viewer as it is to Billy himself.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: She did initially try to be a loving mother to Billy, but once she saw him with some policemen, she realized that she had the option of anonymously giving him away, which she took with zero hesitation.
* YoureNotMyMother: Billy eventually realizes this about Marilyn when personally meeting her after finally finding her.

* ButtMonkey: Poor guy finds himself being attacked by super-powered beings ''twice'' on the same day. [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking And making Santa look bad]] with some of the kids in the process.
* ClusterBleepBomb: After the FinalBattle, [[ConfusedBystanderInterview he is interviewed on TV]], and enthusiastically lets out a few curse words in rapid succession. All of them are bleeped, both for humorous effect and because the movie is family-friendly.
* DirtyCoward: He immediately leaves a young girl at the mercy of a supervillain.
