[[folder:The Outsiders]]

The Outsiders are people from our world, who have been relocated by the mysterious 'The Old Man' to change something about the events of Fire Emblem Awakening. Upon their arrival, they are physically and mentally changed to be better able to survive in their new environment, granting them actual combat skills and on occasion powerful items.

Tropes applicable to them as a group:

* FreudianTrio:
** TheKirk - Julian
** TheMcCoy - Jaclyn
** TheSpock - Cameron
* SelfInsert
* WithAFriendAndAStranger: Cameron and Julian are long-time friends, with Jaclyn as the stranger in question. They're yet to be seen in one place together, though.

!! Cameron
->Well, I guess this cinches it. I'm in lunatic mode. I'm screwed.

The first Outsider to arrive, and the main character of the story. He's the only POV character until the start of the Timeskip arc. Prone to swearing quite a lot.
----
* BraveScot: Downplayed from the stereotype, and he's rather snarky along the way, but... yes. Definitely yes.
* ClassChangeLevelReset: Appears to have become a Dread Fighter after [[spoiler:spending a period of time in ''Fanfic/DaydreamsAndNightmares'' following the destruction of his shield.]]
* CatchPhrase: [[PrecisionFStrike Fuck]].
* ClusterFBomb: Well, duh.
* CombatPragmatist: There were hints of it earlier on, comes into his own when [[spoiler: he becomes Deathstroke]], to the extent of carrying caltrops around with him to dismount cavalry and focusing on removing his foes from the fight as fast as possible rather than necessarily killing them.
%%zce* Deadpan Snarker
%%zce* Determinator
%%zce* Disappeared Dad: In the bad future.
* TheDreaded: [[spoiler:As Deathstroke, this to pretty much anyone in Valm who commited a war crime.]]
* FourthDateMarriage: In-Universe and acknowledged as well - she and Cam only knew each other for a few months and only went on one ''actual'' date, but they still end up engaged. Neither really minds, though.
* HeartbrokenBadass: [[spoiler:After Anna's death.]]
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Cameron's main weapon. An extremely sturdy one at that.
** [[spoiler: This doesn't last once Lucien uses his AntiMagic sword, though.]]
* OfficialCouple: With Anna. [[spoiler:Who becomes TheLostLenore for him after she dies.]]
* OnlySaneMan: After his rendezvous with Jaclyn and recruitment of Cynthia, Cameron is certainly feeling like this. Also, of the three Outsiders he's the only one who knew right from the get-go that being in FE:A was ''not'' going to be an easy feat (though Julian caught up pretty quickly).
* OppositesAttract: He and Anna are very different in personality (and even priorities), but they fall in love quite strongly just the same.
** [[spoiler: Heading to this with Cynthia, according to WordOfGod]]
* PapaWolf: Shades of this [[spoiler: when Eiryss/Fire revealed that she had to fight her Alternate.]]
** Following this he [[spoiler:reams out Tom, brutalising him without letting him explain the exact circumstances of her arrival and ''why'' he brought her, and basically told him to stop interfering with his life ''for good'' - he's fed up with playing the games of gods and their unfair rules, no matter their motives... And with one child that hates him, another that was taken by Lucien, and an alternate counterpart of the latter who barely defeated her none-too-empowered-but-still-strong Alternate (along with a dead fiancée), it's hard to completely blame him for it.]]
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: With Anna.
** [[spoiler: Potentially again with Cynthia]]
* ShipperOnDeck: For Robin/Lucina. Admits that this is his OneTruePairing.
* ShoutOut: He does this frequently.
* SurroundedByIdiots: His response to [[ObliviousToLove Chrom]] and [[LaserGuidedAmnesia Robin]] asking him what Chrom can do about [[HopelessSuitor Cordelia]]:
--> '''Chrom:''' <slumps down in a chair with a moan> "Gods, how do I deal with this?"
--> '''Cameron:''' <glares at Robin> "Oh no, you are NOT leaving me ''alone'' to deal with ''your'' best friend."
--> '''Robin:''' <sighs and grudgingly sits back down> "I'm not exactly experienced in this, either. He's got a point - you are the only one in a secure relationship type...thing."
--> '''Cameron:''' "Wonderful."
* ThrowTheDogABone: In Chapter 55, from his view when he [[spoiler:meets Morgan, and all-but-definitively confirms that his [=OTP=] is canon in this timeline.]]
* TookALevelInBadass: Following [[spoiler:a few months in the [=D&N-verse=]]], he seems to have become a ''Dread Fighter''.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Happens after [[spoiler:Anna's death]], though since he [[spoiler:met Eiryss]] it's become a bit more tempered out.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: The stress of being TrappedInAnotherWorld, dealing with Lucien, and [[spoiler:having his fiancée die]] has ''not'' been very kind on him - Maugen was shocked to learn that Cameron is only twenty-one, and when Cam looks directly into a mirror for the first time since coming to Ylisse...

!! Julian and Kylar

!!! Julian
-> You lucky, lucky bastard...you know what? Fine, have your 'Sorry for almost dying' sex, I'm gonna go see if a man can get drunk out in the desert.

Arrived shortly after Cameron on the wrong side of the continent, joined up with Gregor and wandered around for a while.
----

* BunnyEarsLawyer: More sedate than some, but he's still a little... quirky.
* CatchPhrase: "Evidently."
* CelibateHero: Being in what is apparently a World Of Straight (so to speak), this is practically a given.
* {{Determinator}}
* ForTheLulz: According to Tom, this was the reason he gave for [[spoiler:[[OffTheRails saving Emmeryn]]]]. It also seems to be half the reason he does most anything, except for when he's serious.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: He formed a close-knit bond with Gregor during the time they spent together as travelling mercenaries. [[spoiler:Gregor later pulled a TakingTheBullet HeroicSacrifice to save Julian during the final confrontation with Gangrel's army, which left him feeling more down in the dumps than he'd ever have expected.]]
* OnlySaneMan: Being TheKirk can be for the better, since he's got a ''much'' more level head on his shoulders than [[TheSpock Cameron]] or [[TheMcCoy Jaclyn]]: compared to the former, he lets out his emotions more freely, which enables him to keep his cool and not get so easily set off; compared to the latter, he has more common sense and thinks about his actions and consequences more, but also would be less likely to fall into a slump by overthinking. He has a much more balanced temperament than either of the other Outsiders, so while he's not strictly the most logical or emotional, he's also the least emotionally fragile of the trio.
* PutOnABus: In the Valm arc, he stays in Ylisstol to [[spoiler:help guard Emmeryn]].
%%zce* Straight Gay
%%zce* Troll: To the exasperation of most everyone around him.
----

!!! Kylar
-> Skree.

Julian's mount, a Griffon, given to him by Tom as part of the transition.
----

* GiantFlyer: He is, after all, a griffon.
%%zce* OurGryphonsAreDifferent
* SilentSnarker: Technically he can make one sound, but the effect is just the same since only Julian can somewhat understand him.

!! Jaclyn
->Who wouldn't want to live in a world with magic and dragons and...

The third Outsider, appearing in the middle of the ocean - near where Cameron was. Like Julian, she got herself a mount as part of the deal - in her case, a Pegasus.
----

* {{Expy}}: Based on Shanzira, the main character of ''Awakening'' fanfic ''Fanfic/DaydreamsAndNightmares''.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Both Julian and ''Kylar'' can barely stand her at the best of times.
%%zce* GenkiGirl
* MagicKnight: As with her counterpart in [=D&N=], she's a Pegasus-riding magic-user.
* OutOfFocus: Well, she's so far the only Outsider to not have any POV chapters, and isn't yet critical to the storyline.
* [[PutOnABus Put On A Ship]]: She leaves Cameron's party [[spoiler:with Mal and his crew]], partly to look for her own future child and partly because she was sick of Cam's cynicism and abrasiveness at the time (not that he was in a state to care much, however).
* WrongGenreSavvy: Unlike the more pragmatic Cameron and Julian, she seems to think she's landed in a total WishFulfillment fantasy where she can fight alongside her fictional heroes - Cam is trying to disabuse her of this notion. As [[spoiler:Matthew]] [[LampshadeHanging points out]], she's a BreakTheCutie waiting to happen

[[folder:The Alternates]]

-> PS: Have fun figuring out who I am without your memories.
-> PPS: Power comes with a cost, you idiot. Prepare to pay it.
--> Lucien, Log Entry #3

The Alternates - as the name implies - represent an alternate version of the Outsiders. Because the Outsiders originally did not exist in the FE world, they needed a sort of ultimate enemy to fight. Thus, the Alternates were created - different and opposite to the Outsiders in many ways, representing their most hated qualities.

* BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil: To bring an Outsider, Tom and the other members of the pantheon need to create an Alternate to keep the world in balance.
* EnemyWithout: They are everything their respective Outsiders hate about themselves.
* EvilCounterpart[=/=]{{Foil}}
* HeroKiller: All of them are extraodinarily dangerous - ironically, the only one we've yet met, Lucien, might be ''weaker'' than Julian and Jaclyn's (since said Outsiders got themselves mounts and such), but this is unconfirmed.
** [[spoiler: If Cameron and Cynthia hadn't been walking by, Fire/Eyriss' alternate would have killed her due to a massive gut wound.]]
** If we believe [[spoiler:Eiryss]], Lucien ''is'' the most dangerous - while the other two possess brute force and power, Lucien is the most dangerous because he's a lot more ''cunning''. The fact that [[spoiler:his future self had the foresight to try and interfere with Cameron's note left for Mal, which led to Fire being abducted]], is living proof of this.
%%zce* Outside Context Problem: For the Shepherds and the Outsiders both.
* PowerAtAPrice: The more powerful an Outsider makes themselves, the more powerful their respective Alternate becomes. And since Julian and Jaclyn gave themselves mounts and Cameron cured his dyspraxia... Lucien directly invokes this trope when contacting Cameron (prior to their face-to-face meeting).
%%zce* WakeUp CallBoss: For each of their counterparts.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Technically they're only as old as the amount of time their respective Outsider has been in the Awakening-verse.

!! Lucien L'Allier

-> "Luckily for you...I'm not going to do that. No, I'm going to wait two years, then kill you at your strongest and prove that you were never good enough for anything, even with all the little changes you made. So, to make sure you don't just cheat and kill yourself or something like that, here's the deal – I'm not going to kill all the Shepherds, just the next three people to come down this hall."

Cameron's Alternate. A deranged madman who treads the line between being a sociopath and a psychopath, he has a determined grudge against both his GoodCounterpart for his morality, and against Tom [[spoiler:and the Pantheon]] for his existence in the first place. Although he's too unhinged to be high-functioning (and thus cannot hide his vile nature if he tried), his shrewd and cunning mind and natural combat ability makes him a dangerous opponent that's very difficult to properly dispose of.
----

* AntiMagic: [[spoiler:His sword is made of antimagic, a material capable of killing the setting's true gods. Grima wants it, it destroyed Cameron's shield, and if it ever touches Falchion... Bad Things (tm) will happen.]]
* {{Archenemy}}: To Cameron.
* AxeCrazy: Somewhat. Just look at the quote.
** And then he [[spoiler:came back in time from the BadFuture and ''killed his past self''' without a blink of an eye.]] This guy is completely off his rocker.
* BigBad: Of the Alternates, given that he is - while not strictly the most powerful - the most dangerous, active, and personal foe in the narrative.
* BigBadEnsemble: Part of one, with the others being canonical: [[BigBadDuumvirate Validar and the Hierophant]] (leading the Grimleal) and Walhart (leading Valm). Grima, of course, is the GreaterScopeVillain.
%%zce* Card Carrying Villain
* ClassicVillain: He definitely represents pride, wrath and envy.
* TheCorrupter: [[spoiler:In the BadFuture, he managed to kidnap one of Cameron's children (which depends on whether it's the main or an alternate future timeline) and psychologically ''break'' them until they're utterly loyal to him. The exact outcome varies, but both became subservient to him.]]
* [[spoiler:DeadAllAlong: BadFuture-Lucien ran into and killed his past self at some point after arriving in the past - it's not clear just when all this took place (or even exactly how far back he went), but it's loosely implied to have been either before he first contacted Cameron, or between their first two face-to-face encounters; if the former, then we've never even ''met'' the original Lucien (not that we need to, mind).]]
%%zce* DevilIn PlainSight[=/=]Obviously Evil
%%zce* EvilIs Petty
* FauxAffablyEvil: He doesn't even pretend to be 'truly'' affable, he just likes using it to screw with people and feeds off their fear and anger.
* HeroKiller: The more flaws an Outsider removes from their self, the more powerful their Alternate becomes. Lucien is already deathly-strong - strong enough that he killed two Pegasus knights easily, maimed the third, weakened ''Validar'' for nearly "kill-stealing" said third, finishing her off, and ''still'' being confident enough that he'll be strong enough to kill Cameron in two years no matter how much the latter may LevelGrind.
* HijackedByGanon: A varient in-story: [[spoiler:Lucien from the BadFuture hijacked the ArchEnemy role from ''himself''.]]
* KnightOfCerebus: BlackComedy aside, nothing is ever funny when he's on-screen, and the chapter can go from funny or heartwarming right into outright chilling. Especially when he actually fights, putting everyone in the opposition on their toes...
* {{Narcissist}}: While he mostly doesn't care what people think about him, there's a self-obsession and insecurity to him - which drives him to try and kill his GoodCounterpart [[spoiler:and his younger self (which thankfully for him is a valid action since it's not a StableTimeLoop but a potentially-divergent timeline]]. This is also probably his FatalFlaw, too.
* OneManArmy: Considering that he managed to pull a "one-man 'fuck you Gangrel' mission" and succeed, yeah.
* PsychologicalHorror: Unlike the other Alternates, who are more [[ImplacableMan Implacable Men]], Lucien is describled by Eiryss as being able to torment people psychologically, and is able to communicate mentally with Cameron. Thankfully, the latter stops working once Cameron discovers how to project his thoughts to [[LaserGuidedKarma torment Lucien if he ever tries entering his head]], but less thankfully he has other tricks up his sleeve.
** In the BadFuture timeline, Lucien [[spoiler:kidnaps either Fire (in the main future timeline) or Mal (in the alt-future timeline) and plays the role of EvilUncle to the child, destroying them over the years. With Fire, he completely shattered her willpower and independance, making her a BrokenBird too afraid of the consequences of defying him to act on her moral objections about it; with Mal, he (from what we saw) turned him into a PsychopathicManchild who serves him even more loyally and seems even ''more'' brainwashed, his affection for his sister seeming to be his only redeeming flaw (and even then he tries to convince her to join them).]]
* RageAgainstTheHeavens: He seems to blame the Gods for the nature of his existence, since they brought Cameron into Ylisse and made him in the process. Given he's a deranged mass-murderer, he gets absolutely zero sympathy points from the heroes for this.
* TheSociopath: A more low-functioning variety as he cannot hide his evil nature, but he still qualifies. Cruel, calculating, he treats everything as a game (including his kills), psychologically (and physically) abuses his young apprentice, is incredibly vain and perfectionistic (to the point he cannot conceive the idea that Cameron might defeat him - see the above quote), a complete narcissist who hates having anyone interfere with him and his plans (judging by his response to [[spoiler:Henry constantly finding and hurting him]])... need we go on?
* SpannerInTheWorks: [[spoiler:He interfers with Gangrel after the Rescue Mission succeeds, setting alight Plegia Castle. Though this makes ending the war a little easier for the Shepherds, he does this not out of nobility but to help ensure that Cameron survives long enough so he can kill him.]]
* VillainBall: Not killing Cameron might be this, but then again he ''is'' an egomaniac - he wants to prove that Cameron is so inferior to him that he will never catch up even with the TimeSkip to boost his stats.
* VillainForgotToLevelGrind: Because of his ego being a FatalFlaw, he's barely any more powerful than the last time Cameron fought him and despite still proving a true threat they nearly end up defeating him - if he didn't have [[spoiler:AntiMagic at his disposal]], Cameron would have allowed Chrom to kill him and ended the villain threat right there.
* [[spoiler:VillainousBreakdown]]: [[spoiler:Facing [[PhysicalGod Tom]] in the [[BadFuture bad future]] and promptly receiving a [[CurbStompBattle Curb Stomp Battle]] resulted in this]]
* WildCard: He works separate from the key powers in Ylisse/Valm and merely follows his own agenda. He seems to know Julian's Alternate, but is not directly aligned with her.

!! Julia

Julian's Alternate. Confirmed to be [[GenderFlip Fe]][[GenderBender male]] thanks to some of his insecurities related to his sexuality. Not yet seen very clearly. Her name might be Julia, following Eiryss's inner thoughts. Her name was revealed in Eiryss' first chapter.
----

%%zce* Dark Action Girl
* DragonRider: Atop a ''massive'' wyvern-like creature, at that. Lucien refers to her as a "Drake Rider".
* [[EvilCounterpart Evil]] DistaffCounterpart: Unlike Lucien & Lambda, she's the opposite sex of her GoodCounterpart. Julian admits he's not surprised by this.
--> '''Julian:''' "My parents are ''how'' conservative?"
--> '''Cameron:''' "Well, the one time I met them they were screaming about your return home two hours later than you said you would, so...greatly?"
--> '''Julian:''' "Yes. I'm a gay guy with ultra-conservative parents. Do you see how this ''might'' manifest as an insecurity for my sexuality?"
--> '''Cameron:''' "Well, that's your alternate explained." <shrugs> "No big deal."
--> '''Julian:''' "Yeah, yeah." <sighs, glances at [[SecretKeeper Anna]]> "...please don't tell anyone else about this yet."
* SpannerInTheWorks: Attempted this for the Rescue Mission, and she nearly succeeded.

!! Lambda

Jaclyn's Alternate, first having a true appearance rather than a cameo in chapter 56. Her name might be Lambda, following Eiryss's inner thoughts. Her name was revealed in Eiryss' first chapter. [[http://lambentlodestar.tumblr.com/post/97762794310/final-design-for-lambda-jaclyns-alternate-in And she has artwork, courtesy of lambentlodestar]].
----

* AxeCrazy[=/=]HairTriggerTemper: Considering [[GenkiGirl Jaclyn]], it's not too shocking to discover that her Alternate's got even less self-control than ''Lucien''.
%%* DarkActionGirl
%%* EvilRedhead
* TheGhost: Until chapter thirty five.
** Chapter 53 shows her in the flesh for the first time, and Chapter 54 elaborates on her characterisation more thoroughly.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Annihilated General Pheros' fleet in seconds, barely missing the future kids.
* MurdertheHypotenuse: [[spoiler:She seems to want to kill Cordelia very, very much. She even threw a tantrum when Julian mentioned she wasn't there.]]
%%zce* Yandere: Oh my god.

!! Giomatti

An Alternate created when Eiryss enters the main timeline.
----

%%zce* BaldO fEvil
* EyeScream: How Eiryss kills him.
* FlatCharacter: Being an alternate aside, he's just a big ugly brute there to be killed by Eiryss. [[spoiler:And to piss off Cameron enough that he refuses to communicate with Tom anymore.]]
* {{Foreshadowing}}: [[spoiler:He's the second Alternate who is the opposite sex of their respective Outsider, which hints at the fact that Fire - like Julian - is homosexual (or at least not straight).]]
* {{Gonk}}

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Others]]

Other major characters that are original to the story but don't exactly fit into any the above two categories.

!! Malcolm "Mal" Yriel

-> I swear to Naga, if Inigo's crashed my ship I'm killing him.

Captain of the ship "Serenity", which Severa, Inigo, Brady, Noire and Gerome are part of. Cameron and Anna's son from the future.
----

%%zce* The Captain
* FieryRedhead: Gets the "fiery" from his (non-redhaired) father, though.
* GenerationXerox: Neither he nor his father can handle anger very well, and both can carry a massive grudge longterm.
* InsaneTrollLogic: [[spoiler:Blaming Cameron for Anna's death, because [[SarcasmMode of course it's his father's fault that she was randomly killed by an arrow]] (especially since that was [[MakeItLookLikeAnAccident Lucien's doing]]).]] Pretty much everyone - even those who sympathise with him on this - think he's being stupid too.
** Granted, it's kind of implied by his 4th chapter that he felt like [[spoiler:Cameron partially ''caused'' her death by going off-script - discovering that her death was a deliberate move on Lucien's part rather than a freak accident causes him to realise he was being quite a dick without justification.]]
* [[spoiler:MissingMom: When he first arrives in the past, he's quite eager to see his mother, not aware that Anna of the Changed timeline was killed. He's decidedly ''not'' happy about it - to the point of hurling a weapon at his father for not "trying harder" to keep her safe, much to everyone's consternation.]]
* MommasBoy: [[spoiler:All signs point to him being one, in contrast to Fire's DaddysGirl - not only did Cynthia tell Cameron that Mal considered him boring from what she'd heard, but he was more eager to see her than he was his father. From his reaction to learning she died, he's made it clear that while he didn't ''want'' either parent to be dead, he'd [[YouShouldHaveDiedInstead rather that Cameron were dead and Anna alive]].]]
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: When we finally get his 4th chapter, it's revealed he feels ''horrendously'' guilty for his unjust attitude towards his father [[spoiler:for his mother's death]] - he's even convinced that he's caused both his father and his [[spoiler:alternate timeline]] sister to hate him because of his earlier actions (he hasn't, but he's been in a HeroicBSOD for a while because of it until his girlfriend shakes him out of it).
* OfficialCouple: With [[spoiler:Severa.]]
* OhCrap: He promptly starts shitting his (metaphorical) pantaloons when he realises that [[spoiler:Lucina knows he's together with her sister... and isn't happy about it.]]
* ShoutOut: A captain named "Mal" commanding a ship named "Serenity" and prefering to avoid large government bodies. [[Series/{{Firefly}} Sound familiar?]]
* SitcomArchNemesis: [[BunnyEarsLawyer Lucina]] treats him as one.
* WhamLine:
--> Chapter 31: I can't wait to [[spoiler:see Mom again.]]
--> Chapter [[spoiler:39]]: DAD?! WHAT THE HELL?
* WhatTheHellHero: [[spoiler:While Mal's pain is understandable, the response to his blaming Cameron for Anna's death hasn't exactly been supportive (even Severa, who prioritised comforting him, didn't try to endorse it). Cynthia and Fire/Eiryss were particularly displeased about it: the former was only stopped from yelling at him because she caught him and Severa [[AccidentalPervert making out]]; the latter ''does'' give him an earful about it when they first meet, loud enough that he's left reeling in shock (the fact she told him what ''really'' happened helps, as he realises he was wrong to blame his father).]]
* [[spoiler:YouShouldHaveDiedInstead]]: He all but outright states this, as seen below:
--> [[spoiler:'''Cameron:''' "...I'm so proud of you."]]
--> [[spoiler:'''Malcolm:''' <[[SpitefulSpit spits overboard the ship]]> "Yeah, and I bet she'd have been prouder."]]
** He regrets this later on, however.

!! Fire

->I thought there were no poets in the bitter business.

Lucien's apprentice/niece. [[spoiler:She is Mal's sister, who was seized by Lucien.]]
----

* AntiVillain: She doesn't appear to actually enjoy the acts that Lucien commits (and forces her to commit in turn) - she only follows him out of an as-yet-unexplained loyalty. [[spoiler:Seems to involve indoctrination, as he kidnapped her some amount of time before Mal and the rest time-travelled. And torture - lots of torture.]]
%%zce* The Archer
* [[spoiler:BraveScot]]: Subverted, thanks to the trauma she's endured.
%%zce* Broken Bird
%%zce* DarkAction Girl
%%zce* Deadpan Snarker: See her quote.
* [[spoiler:SelfMadeOrphan: At Lucien's orders, she killed Anna, her mother-to-be, with an arrow to the eye to MakeItLookLikeAnAccident (or rather, so that she'd look like just another random casualty). Why did she do it? Because Lucien stopped torturing her and gave her a proper meal for the first time in ''six years'' in exchange for the deed.]]
* ShoutOut: Her name is a reference to the quote ''[[Series/TwinPeaks "Fire, walk with me"]]''. [[spoiler:Cameron is left wondering what exactly his future self was thinking, naming his daughter after a ''quote'' of all things.]]
** It turns out that [[spoiler:it was [[BunnyEarsLawyer Julian]] who chose the name.]]

!! Noel

-> "Rukina-sama!"

Jaclyn's daughter from the future, her father is a man named Rufure. Briefly mentioned by Cynthia before she first appears some time later.
----

* AdaptationDyeJob: In [=D&N=], she's a redhead like her mother and her sibling takes after their father; in this fic she has a different father and has inherited his white hair, while her brother received their mother's bright red hair.
* {{Expy}}: Of Noel from ''Daydreams and Nightmares''.
%%zce* Foolish Sibling Responsible Sibling: The foolish to Mark's responsible.
%%zce* Genki Girl
%%zce* The Ghost: Until Chapter 49.
%%zce* Otaku
%%zce* KidFrom TheFuture

!! [[spoiler:Fire]]/Eiryss

-> My name is EIRYSS my name is EIRYSS my name is EIRYSS

[[spoiler:Fire from an alternate dimension where Mal was captured by Lucien instead. Became an outsider from that dimension to this one.]]
----

* AlternateSelf: [[spoiler:A version of Fire who wasn't indoctrinated by Lucien.]]
%%zce* The Archer
* BraveScot: [[spoiler:Her determination and courage is a trait she gets from her father, Cameron.]]
* DaddysGirl: [[spoiler:Not that she doesn't love her mother, but she's quite attached to her father. Her reaction to learning Anna died is to ''comfort'' her grieving father and have them grieve together, whereas Mal unjustly blamed him for something he couldn't prevent. And she chews out Mal for being a dick about it when they meet for the first time.]]
* {{Determinator}}: She sets out to [[spoiler:kill her Alternate]] without hesitation, despite still reeling emotionally, because of the threat to nearby civilians that would take place if she doesn't.
* LastHetRomance: With Mark, possibly.
* StraightGay[=/=]LipstickLesbian: [[spoiler:It turns out she likes girls, to Cameron's surprise ([[OpenMindedParent but not disapproval]]). She was in a relationship with Noire in her own BadFuture timeline.]]
* ThatManIsDead: She tries to do this, but fails.
%%zce* Walking Spoiler: Hoo boy.

!! Mark

-> "I found Noel, though. Unfortunately, she's still..."
-> "Still Noel?"
-> "Still Noel."

Briefly mentioned by [[spoiler:Eiryss/Fire]]. Jaclyn's son, and Noel's older brother.
----

%%zce* Foolish Sibling Responsible Sibling: The responsible to Noel's foolish.
* TheSmartGuy: Apparently he tried to be TheStrategist in the BadFuture, but according to Lucina he's better at logistics than actual strategy.
%%zce* The Ghost: Until Chapter 49.
%%zce* KidFrom TheFuture

!! Norrin

A mysterious man who is somehow acquainted with Maugen. [[spoiler:He ends up joining Cameron's group, Swordwind.]]
----

* {{Expy}}: Appears to be based on [[Literature/TheDresdenFiles Harry Dresden]], with elements of [[ComicBook/{{Hellblazer}} John Constantine]] thrown in. [[LampshadeHanging Cameron comments on this]] ''[[LampshadeHanging a lot]]''.
** His name might be a ShoutOut to [[ComicBook/SilverSurfer Norrin Radd]].
* JerkassWithAHeartOfGold: Implied by those who know him.
* SixthRanger: [[spoiler:For the Swordwind vigilante group.]]

!! Count Zytle

A Valmese noble and noted resistance leader against Walhart, who despite his allegiance is in fact highly corrupt.
----

* AristocratsAreEvil: A very corrupt Valmese nobleman.
* CantKillYouStillNeedYou: [[spoiler:The Ylisseans are disgusted by him upon learning what he's done, but because he's the best resource available on Walhart's forces they decide to leave him alive for the time being.]]
* EvilVersusEvil: He's opposing [[TheEmperor Walhart]] which would make him a good guy by default... except that while Walhart is an AffablyEvil NobleDemon, Zytle is a veritable BitchInSheepsClothing. He is representative of the fact that there are war criminals on both sides of the war, just as their are genuinely good or well-meaning ones.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Quite courteous when he tries to convince Cameron to join him; in reality, he's a complete slimeball.
* HateSink: Walhart is a warmongering conquerer, but one who is considered a WorthyOpponent regardless; Zytle gives people both in-universe and out a target who they can loath without feeling guilty, as well as representing the fact that not ''all'' who oppose Walhart are good people either.
* NecessarilyEvil: [[spoiler:He's kept alive as a prisoner for the time being because the Ylissean army needs his knowledge about the Valmese Empire.]]
* RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil: The fact that he's [[spoiler:a covert child molester]] earns him a very particular ire from anyone with standards.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: Initially, the Ylisseans are unaware of his particularly unsavoury traits and in correspondence with him agree to an alliance; this leads to [[LetsYouAndHimFight Cameron having to fight off Chrom and Lucina]] ''both'' until he can get in just why he's attacking "an innocent man".

[[folder:Non-Original Characters]]

Characters who exist within the established canon of the FE universe. Until further notice, only those with tropes distinct from canon should be listed.

Listed by section, in order of appearance.

! The Shepherds

* BreakingOfTheFellowship: [[spoiler:The team below crumbles after the war with Plegia, with Vaike dying and Cameron leaving after Anna dies. The remaining members are still close, but the dynamic isn't the same... and people ''still'' can't remember that Kellam is part of the group!]]

!! Chrom

TheCaptain of the Shepherds and Prince of Ylisse.
----

* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: [[spoiler:Inverted as he's he's actually ''better off'' than he was in canon, what with his big sister not having gone splat and not having to worry for a couple of years after the war has finished. Cameron, who notices the grey streaks in his own hair, realises that ''he'' is the one dealing with soul-crushing trauma arguably worse than the games' original protagonist: his LoveInterest is dead, a psychopathic murderer is out to cause him as much pain as possible before killing him (and knows just how to hurt him), and foreknowledge of the BadFuture that could still come to pass if he's not careful; not to mention that said foreknowledge, when he used it, had dire consequences for not just himself; plus he's left wondering if he can do any true good. Compared to him, Chrom's ''original'' traumas somewhat look like a walk in the park...]]
* ObliviousToLove: To the point that he had ''no idea'' that Cordelia was in love with him. When she finally confesses to him, he ([[SarcasmMode calmly]]) takes it in until he can consult Robin and Cameron, at which point it's clear that he's freaking out inside.
** He also didn't seem aware that people thought [[spoiler:he and Sumia were an item - she was actually seeking out his help in trying out her pies because she wanted to impress ''Frederick''.]]
* TheWisePrince: Not in the traditional sense, but more that Chrom knows his limitations and weaknesses - his wisdom shows mostly in how he manages his personal militia, the Shepherds, but also in knowing who to seek out when he needs assistance in certain matters.

!! Robin

The Shepherds' tactician and strategist, recruited shortly before Cameron.
----

* BadassBookworm: Actually demonstrated more strongly here, where his plans are given in more detail.
* TheChessmaster: Robin has plans upon plans - whenever he has time to strategise, he'll somehow pull out not just a Plan B, but a Plan C and Plan D. He'll even try for Plan ''E'' and onward if possible.
** [[ShoutOut He doesn't have Plan A/B/C for fighting Lucien,]] [[Comicbook/AstonishingXMen He has Plans 1, 2, 3, etc, because he has more than 26 plans]]
* CrazyPrepared: Sweet Naga...
* ProperlyParanoid: In Chapter 52, he argued with Chrom over his (justified) wariness about Validar (who they officially met off-screen), who he suspects ''is'' the same man that tried to assassinate Emmeryn three-and-a-half years ago; Chrom is skeptical because that man was [[NoOneCouldSurviveThat ripped to pieces by Lucien back then]], but Robin insists to not rule out the possibility (not that it matters - as Emmeryn has been made aware by Tom, they need to keep him from being suspicious so that Plegia lends support in the coming war with Valm).

!! Frederick

The Shepherds' second-in-command, Chrom's competant lieutenant. Father to [[spoiler:Cynthia.]]
----

* TheDreaded: PlayedForLaughs InUniverse, with Chrom and Robin showing signs of trauma when reminded of his "Fanatic Fitness Hour":
--> '''Robin:''' <shudders> "So many push ups, so little time..."
* OfficialCouple: With [[spoiler:Sumia]].
* ProperlyParanoid: His suspicions about Cameron being more than he appears (when Chrom inducts him into the Shepherds not long after Robin) are correct, albeit not for the reasons he suspects. Not unlike his already-established wariness around Robin...

!! Lissa

Younger sister of Chrom and Emmeryn, thus a princess of Ylisse. Friends with Maribelle.
----

* RescueRomance: She and Lon'qu have a RelationshipUpgrade after he saves her from Plegian assassins. Which is canon for their S-Support, but it happens quicker in ''Asleep''.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: With her LoveInterest and future husband, Lon'qu.

!! Maribelle

Lissa's best friend and one of the Shepherds. She and Cameron don't get along due to her impatience with him not being more genteel, and his disliking her general manner.
----

* DefrostingIceQueen: She does warm to people slowly as in canon, but bonus points for the fact that she and Cameron are at each other's throats for a long time. The first time we see her showing actual concern for him as a person is after [[spoiler:Anna's death sends him into a depression.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Again, this is ''Maribelle''.
* RomanticFalseLead: InUniverse, as people were hedging bets early on that her testy relationship with Cameron was a case of BelligerentSexualTension. Being [[{{Tsundere}} Maribelle]], it's not shocking that this isn't the case.

!! Anna

A travelling merchant from a family of InexplicablyIdenticalIndividuals with no OneSteveLimit in sight - the youngest of the lot, in fact. She joins forces with Robin and Kellam when they're scouting a village occupied by bandits along with Donnel, the one resident who escaped. After defeating the leader, she offers her services to the Shepherds and eventually becomes their quartermaster, travelling in the caravan.

She and Cameron start to develop feelings for each other over time, in no small part due to her awareness of the Outrealm Gates and being able to carry his secrets. Despite being very different in personality, the two of them end up working rather well. [[spoiler:Tragically, Anna becomes a casualty of the final battle with Gangrel, shot through the eye while still in her caravan - something which truly shakes Cameron to the core and leads to him leaving the Shepherds in his grief. Though at first believed to be just a random death, Julian soon discovers that the arrow which killed her had its white feathers covered with dark powder, making them look like typical Plegian arrows...]]
----

* ActionGirl: Though she usually stays out of direct combat, being quartermaster to the Shepherds.
* EyeScream: [[spoiler:The cause of her death is an arrow to the eye.]]
* FourthDateMarriage: In-Universe and acknowledged as well - she and Cam only knew each other for a few months and only went on one ''actual'' date, but they still end up engaged. Neither really minds, though.
* [[spoiler:ILetGwenStacyDie[=/=]TheLostLenore: For Cameron - her death makes him feel immensely guilty due to feeling that he was responsible for it by changing things (not helped by Mal blaming him for not doing more). When he finds out that Future-Lucien actually forced Fire to kill her just to hurt him, though (and thus suggesting that it would've happened anyway at some point), he [[UnstoppableRage get utterly pissed]].]]
* [[spoiler:MakeItLookLikeAnAccident: Or rather, Lucien makes her look like just another random casualty of war in order to crush Cameron. In reality, her death was a targeted attack that had nothing to do with Plegia's beefed-up army and everything to do with the Alternate pulling a KickTheDog via turning Fire into a SelfMadeOrphan.]]
* [[spoiler:MissingMom: Both Mal and Eiryss (the alternate Fire) are grief-stricken to learn that she died in the changed timeline, though the latter handles it more rationally than the former.]]
* MassiveNumberedSiblings: There are 15, to be precise - all given the same name. She is the youngest, as it turns out.
* OfficialCouple: With Cameron (and they even have children from the BadFuture coming back in time with the others, proving it). [[spoiler:Then tragically subverted when one of those children, tortured and brainwashed by Cam's ArchEnemy, kills Anna.]]
* OppositesAttract: She and Cameron are very different in personality (and even priorities), but they fall in love quite strongly just the same.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: With Cameron.
* SecretKeeper: For the Outsiders, since her position means that Cameron can trust her with the whole truth about his origins, as can Julian.
* TheTease[=/=]{{Troll}}: At times, especially towards Cameron. She always plays with him in terms of his feelings (and ExactWords in regards to measuring his love for her), but she's mostly joking.
* WhatTheHellHero: Cameron was incensed that she could have helped against the bandit leader Garrick more directly, stating that he could have been killed. Anna refutes this, noting that the man was drunk and off his game.
** Also later, when she (sort of) jokingly considers charging Julian to keep the secret of his sexuality and his insecurity about it, Cameron calls her on wanting to use his personal crisis to make more money.
* YoungestChildWins: The youngest of all her sisters, and she ends up joining the Shepherds and becoming rather recognised as a hero. [[spoiler:Though not enough, sadly, to become an Einherjar.]]

!! Kellam

The Shepherd who everyone seems to forgot about.
----

* AscendedExtra: He gets some notable screentime compared to canon, starting with the Sidestory Mission ([[AdaptationDistillation a composite of the Anna and Donnel chapters]]) and generally keeps it from there for a good while. He falls out of focus later, but there are other characters who need the screentime (and are more significant overall to the plot).
* DeadpanSnarker: Chapter 5 gives us this gem:
--> '''Cameron:''' "Donnel! Go home!"
--> '''Donnel:''' "Naw! I asked the elder and my ma, they said ah should do what I felt was right!"
--> '''Kellam:''' (flatly) "And what you think is right is following a group of strangers through hostile territory and being subjected to fierce military training for the rest of your life."
* RunningGag: A small one with people constantly mentioning he should become a spy with his unique talent. He lamentably points out that he [[GoneHorriblyRight wouldn't be able to deliver his reports very well]].
* ThrowTheDogABone: Cameron would show a lot of concern (and internalised guilt) whenever he FailedASpotCheck due to Kellam's... condition, and his efforts to include Kellam lead to him finding a place in the Shepherds among some of the guys.

!! Donnel

A young farmhand from an Ylissean village. Along with Anna, he allied himself to Cameron and Kellam in a plan to liberate his village, after which he and Anna are recruited to the Shepherds.
----

* InsistentTerminology: From the initial respect and awe, he takes some time to stop addressing Cameron as "milord" - which Cam naturally finds silly because he's not even nobility. Even later into the conflict he falls back into it out of habit, though he's gotten better with time.
* NewMeat: But he adapts quite well, all things considered. He even ditches the pot helmet for proper gear, unlike [[GameplayAndStorySegregation what the games show us]].
* PuppyLove: He seems to have a crush on Nowi, which Cameron [[ShipperOnDeck finds himself supporting]] - if in part because the [[MayFlyDecemberRomance physical age gap between them]] isn't as extreme as with some of the Other Shepherds...

!! Cordelia

A talented Pegasus Knight of Ylisse, serving under Phila until her squad is slaughtered by the invading Plegian forces. Has massive feelings towards Chrom, though he seems unaware of them. With Cameron's help, she finally finds the courage to confess to him in the hopes that whatever the result, she can finally sort herself out. [[spoiler:It ends surprisingly well for her.]]
----

* ActionMom: To Severa [[spoiler:and Lucina]].
* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: Drunk and depressed, on Cameron's advice she fessed up her affections to Chrom before running away crying.
* BattleCouple: With her eventual husband [[spoiler:Chrom]].
* DrowningMySorrows: Cameron finds her watching Chrom and Sumia interacting quite closely, with a despondent look in her eyes, quite intoxicated given her slurred speech and sluggish movements.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: Only Chrom is unaware of the flame she holds for him, but her feelings are ''so'' obvious that Robin is incredulous to learn that his best friend had absolutely ''zero idea'' about her feelings.
* HappilyMarried[=/=]OfficialCouple: With [[spoiler:Chrom, after their wedding during the Timeskip Arc.]]
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Much as she wants Chrom to reciprocate her feelings, she doesn't want to hurt him - or Sumia, her dearest friend - though Cameron convinces her that she needs to tell him at least, because if Chrom goes on unaware she'll never be able to put it behind her. [[spoiler:As it turns out, there wasn't anything going on between Chrom and Sumia at all.]]
* ThrowTheDogABone: [[spoiler:Sumia isn't interested in Chrom after all, and he decides to give a relationship a go. It works out beautifully.]]
* WarriorPrincess: In her case, it is because she started as a warrior, became a princess and then continued with the warrior thing. [[spoiler:Her marriage to Chrom makes her a Princess of Ylisse, since Emmeryn's still alive as Exalt in this timeline (and according to Tom/Xane, Emmeryn might in fact survive all the way this time around - no word on if she'll have children to succeed her or if Chrom will later on, though.]]

!! Gregor

A kind-hearted, seasoned mercenary who the Shepherds meet when facing the Grimleal in the desert. He met up with Cameron's friend Julian a couple months before this, and they worked together as partners.
----

* CoolOldGuy
* GoOutWithASmile: [[spoiler:Gives Julian his friendly grin one last time as he assures him he won't let his friend die while he's able to stop it.]]
* [[spoiler:HeroicSacrifice[=/=]TakingTheBullet: He takes several high-power Wind spells directly in order to save Julian and their allies, who were about to be hit. They tear into him and he bleeds out.]]
* IntergenerationalFriendship[=/=]OddFriendship: A 40-something, bizarre mercenary and a 20-something, wyvern-riding youth from another world. They get along quite famously (with perhaps a little HoYay for good measure). Also with Nowi, of course.
* [[spoiler:SacrificialLion: The first casualty among the Shepherds, and not the last as of yet.]]
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: He and Julian did this more than once during their time as freelance mercenaries.

! Future Children

!! Lucina

Chrom's KidFromTheFuture, her mother is [[spoiler:Cordelia]] and she has one sibling: her [[spoiler:sister, Severa]].
----

* InsistentTerminology[=/=]LastNameBasis: Calling Cameron "Lord Yriel" after the assumed surname he took in Ylisse. In a rather subdued OhCrap, he notes the OOCIsSeriousBusiness nature of her referring to him as just "Yriel" right after [[spoiler:he fought her father]], though Owain thankfully cleared things up right after the fact.
* KnightTemplarBigBrother: Her reaction to learning that [[spoiler:Mal - who she dislikes on principle - is dating Severa]] is for her to prepare to ''kill'' the perpetrator - or commit maiming at the very least. [[spoiler:Severa]] calls her out on it. She's also pretty touchy when [[spoiler:Cameron fights her father.]] This is also true to her personality in the games - she's an Adorkable SociallyAwkwardHero with HeroWorshipper tendencies regarding her father.
* RunningGag: Cameron keeps telling her to [[ShipperOnDeck talk to Robin]], much to her bemusement.
* ScrewDestiny: Along with her general attitude, she uses Falchion to cure Cameron of his crippling (from the first Risen attack). He finally gets the chance to thank her properly for it during the TimeSkip Arc, when they meet again in a non-combat situation.

!! Severa

Daughter of Cordelia and [[spoiler:Chrom - making her Lucina's younger sister and a Princess of Ylisse.]] She is first seen travelling with Mal on his ship "Serenity".
----

* BelligerentSexualTension: With Malcolm. [[spoiler:They are implied to have consummated after he learned of his mother's death.]]
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: [[spoiler: With Mal, after their RelationshipUpgrade.]]
* DeadpanSnarker
* HiddenDepths: She's surprisingly perceptive - it only takes one look at [[spoiler:Cameron's eyes]] for her to piece together what happened to cause [[spoiler:Mal to flip at his father]], while the implications of such fly over the heads of their friends.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She snarks at Mal well enough, but nonetheless she's ''very'' concerned for him after [[spoiler:he learns of Anna's death.]]
* TheLancer: Of Mal's crew.
* OfficialCouple: [[spoiler:With Mal - they're officially together as of his discovering Anna's death, with her comforting him over it.]]
* OhCrap: See above.
* ShoutOut: When General Pheros's fleet pulls them up, she pretends to be [[Series/{{Firefly}} Mal's whore]] to avoid close inspection [[spoiler:so they won't see the Brand of the Exalt on her shoulder/upper arm and deduce she is Ylissean royalty.]]
* {{Tsundere}}: She is definitely this to Mal: one minute she's being quite sweet, and then she does a 180 when he tells her that playing the role of his whore suits her.
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: Not even [[spoiler:her big sister]] is safe from her protective streak concerning her boyfriend.

!! Cynthia

Daughter of Sumia [[spoiler:and Frederick]], she is discovered when Cameron lands on the continent of Valm (with the newly-found Jaclyn in tow), working for Maugan/Ruger as in canon. The two manage to convince her that she's been duped, and she helps them eliminate his forces. After a series of events which lead to their group changing and growing, [[spoiler:she chooses to stay by Cameron's side rather than go off with her friends, and becomes a founding member of Swordwind.]]
----

* AccidentalPervert: She found out that [[spoiler:Malcolm and Severa]] were an item when she walked in on them, um... yeah. She'd been intending to [[spoiler:yell at Mal for blaming his mother's death on Cameron.]]
* AscendedExtra: She's become a major character in her own right compared to her role in canon, despite not even having a POV chapter yet.]]
* BadassAdorable: Oh yes. Definitely.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: In Chapter 55, she has to deal with the attentions of a sleazy baron trying to pick her up, while she's in disguise [[spoiler:because Swordwind is trying to rescue a young girl]]. All is going well despite her discomfort... until he insults Cameron, triggering her BerserkButton [[spoiler:and getting unwanted attention - leading to Cameron implementing Plan B]], where she proceeds to cut loose, kick arse and take names.
* HeroWorshipper: She actually thinks Cameron is rather awesome, despite [[spoiler:his son, Malcolm]] thinking he was a total bore. Cameron is pleasantly surprised by this. [[spoiler:As it turns out, she had a crush when she was a little girl; once she got to know him she began to develop a ''genuine'' affection for him along with the hero worship, and he eventually reciprocates.]]
* HiddenDepths: And ''HOW''.
* IChooseToStay: A variant, she elects to [[spoiler:stay with Cameron and his group, even after Jaclyn left with Mal's group, rather than going to meet her parents.]]
* IdiotHero: She gives off this vibe, plus she's [[spoiler:pretty much TheHero of Cameron's new team, the Swordwind vigilante group.]]
* LetsGetDangerous: It's acknowledged In-Universe that she and Owain can turn off their individual quirks if the situation ''really'' calls for it.
* NiceGal: Cynthia is too kind by half. She even [[spoiler:stays by Cameron's side - rather than going off with her friends, who were going to go and see their parents - because she was worried about him: after the falling out with Mal, she thought he needed her support and genuinely wants to help him out in his quest. It helps that she seems fond of him.]]
* PluckyComicRelief: Quite often despite her serious moments - and quite necessary too, since the story was getting quite dark and serious given the Character's Death and the expanding of the MythArc. Cynthia's presence just makes things ''sunnier'' than they would be without her.
* SayingTooMuch: Telling Lucina that [[spoiler: Mal/Severa is a thing, apparently not aware that Lucina and Mal don't seem to get along (Lucina intends to maim him for it, convinced that he's manipulating her).]]
* SecondLove: [[spoiler:To Cameron]].
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: She's the Girly Girl, [[spoiler:Eiryss]] is the Tomboy.
* WhatTheHellHero
* WideEyedIdealist

!! Owain

Son of Lissa and Lon'qu, he is found by Cameron's group when they visit the Sage Hamlet he was recruited at in the game. Excited at the idea of [[spoiler:a group of vigilante heroes protecting the innocents caught in war]], he promptly joins the group then and there.
----

* TheBigGuy: Being more of an impulsive fighter rather than a complex strategist, he fits into this role [[spoiler:in Swordwind]].
* BrutalHonesty: He's the worst possible choice for a spy or infiltrator for this reason - even Cynthia is better than him!
* LargeHam: Being Owain, of course he is... even when it leads him to trouble. Eiryss is ''pissed'' when she learns that he inadvertently [[spoiler:got her the codename "Cupid"]].
* LetsGetDangerous: It's acknowledged In-Universe that he and Cynthia can turn off their individual quirks if the situation ''really'' calls for it.
* UnexpectedCharacter: InUniverse, as Cameron didn't expect to run into him... until a comment by the locals that revealed the hamlet they'd just arrived in was [[OneDegreeOfSeparation the same one he's recruited at during the game]]. He has a small FreakOut over the concept of dealing with him ''and'' Cynthia for an extended period of time.

!! Morgan

Daughter of Robin and [[spoiler:Lucina]], she is discovered first when she has been [[spoiler:taken prisoner by Count Zytle of the Valmese Empire]], and it inducted into Cameron's group.
----

* DarkIsNotEvil: Invoked - Eiryss is understandably wary about this girl who is wearing a Grimleal cloak, but she turns out so cute and innocent-looking that it's obvious she's anything but bad.
* SixthRanger[=/=]TagalongKid: For [[spoiler:Swordwind]], being the youngest to join the group.

! Others

!! The Old Man (a.k.a "Tom")/[[spoiler:Xane]]

Originally mistaken as Old Hubba, then as an old man Cameron knew called Eugene, The Old Man (TOM for short) is the one who created the whole Outsider/Alternate system to begin with and is just one of many people watching over assorted universes.

[[spoiler:The first chapter from Emmeryn's POV reveals him to be Xane, from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemShadowDragonAndTheBladeOfLight'' and ''VideoGame/FireEmblemMysteryOfTheEmblem''. For more on his character, see [[Characters/FireEmblemShadowDragonAndTheBladeOfLight here]].]]
----

* AlmightyJanitor: He's ridiculously powerful, capable of warping reality and pulling people across universes, but compared to the rest of the Pantheon members he's basically an Intern.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: [[spoiler:Emmeryn]] openly expresses dislike for his (and [[spoiler:the Pantheon's]]) NoInterferencePolicy, because they don't do more in helping people with their everyday lives. He retorts it's not that clear-cut, and everything is shades of grey - to which she simply retorts that it shouldn't have to be this way, to his irritation. For his part, he ''does'' care about the people he's watching over, but humans absolutely ''loath'' being used like chess pieces for a greater good, and neither side can truly understand the opposite in terms of priorities.
* CoolOldGuy: He's really quite friendly for a PhysicalGod RealityWarper.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: He's simply called The Old Man by the Outsiders, since they don't know his actual name. Partially subverted when Cameron almost randomly dubs him "Tom" (to his bemusement), pretty much shortening things with an acronym that so happens to be a real name; then it's fully subverted when we learn his true identity.
* FailedASpotCheck: He should have checked whether [[spoiler:Emmeryn ever drinks alcohol]]: had he done so, then he wouldn't have needed to [[spoiler:pull her from her realm into that of the Pantheon, precisely before they were about to have a meeting; this leads to her learning of their existence more comprehensively and some of their secrets - not too much of them, but still more than they'd prefer.]] As [[spoiler:Literature/{{Discworld}} [[DontFearTheReaper Death]]]] puts it, he "done goofed".
* JerkassGods: Subverted, at least by him. [[DirtyOldMan Old Hubba]] is another matter, though...
* LoopholeAbuse: [[spoiler:Because [=BadFuture!Lucien=] (from a parallel universe), killed Tiki, he breaks part of the contract which requires that Tom not interfere directly. He proceeds to utterly ''[[CurbstompBattle decimate him]]'', saving Alt-Fire and sending her to the mainstream Asleepverse.]]
* TheMentor/MissionControl: [[spoiler:Until Cameron cuts him off.]] Following this, [[spoiler:the other Pantheon members tell him interfere directly anymore, though he still saves Cameron's hide from a certanly-fatal fall - by sending him to the ''Fanfic/DaydreamsAndNightmares'' universe, to take advantage of Time Distortion between dimensions to LevelGrind in a new fighting style.]]
** More recently, [[spoiler:they've reconciled enough to renew communication... somewhat.]]
* PrecisionFStrike: Lets out a "Shit" at the above FailedASpotCheck.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: One thing he can do at will. [[spoiler: It foreshadows his true identity as Xane.]]

!! Emmeryn

The ruler of the Halidom of Ylisse.
----

* AwesomenessByAnalysis: She is able to deduce that [[spoiler:Inness]] is an archer before even being introduced to him, simply by ''looking at his arms'' - she notices that his dominant right arm is far more toned than the other and thus he likely fights with a bow. She's not one expected to have FailedASpotCheck, either, as she picks up more from [[spoiler:the Pantheon]] than some others would have managed to get in the same circumstances!
* AscendedExtra: [[spoiler:Gets her own POV chapters and subplot in time for the Valm War arc, after surviving Gangrel's War.]]
* HeroOfAnotherStory: [[spoiler:Manages the Shepherds' home ground in Ylisse, with her own subplot concerning the Pantheon, while Chrom and Cameron's two groups fight the war in Valm.]]
* NotTheFallThatKillsYou: [[spoiler:She doesn't suffer any lasting injuries from her attempted HeroicSuicide, at worst being a little disoriented when Cameron and Julian catch her.]]
* RageAgainstTheHeavens: [[spoiler:She calls Xane out, in their second meeting, for the machinations the Pantheon has towards their fates as well as for their NoInterferencePolicy as "the rules" demand of them.]]
* SecretKeeper: [[spoiler: For the Pantheon - because she was needlessly pulled into their Realm by Xane, she found of more about them than most mortals do but is required to keep it a secret.]]
* SparedByTheAdaptation: [[spoiler:She does still go the HeroicSuicide route to spare Chrom the hard choice, but Cameron manages to save her.]]
* WhatIsOneMansLifeInComparison: Cameron ponders on this one, knowing that it's not just her speech to Plegia, but her very martyr-like death which helped break their resolve to keep fighting and ended the war much quicker. He wonders whether it would save more lives - and leave the country better-equipped to deal with Walhart - if he just lets her die. [[spoiler:He saves her, but just as he predicted her survival causes more damage than her death would, though implicitly not as much as in the original timeline.]]

!! Phila

Commander of the Ylissean pegasus knights, and loyal to Emmeryn.
----

* AscendedExtra: She gets more screentime and development before her capture by Plegia [[spoiler:and survives the Rescue Mission for Emmeryn.]]
* DefrostingIceQueen: See below, in regards to Cameron (she does carry herself in a very professional manner in general).
* DemotedToExtra: Despite the above, after [[spoiler:the Ylisse-Plegia War ends]] she falls backOutOfFocus and hasn't even appeared prominently in [[spoiler:Emmeryn's POV chapters.]]
* JerkassRealization: The Ylissean high command come to suspect that Cameron, with his surprising amount of knowledge regarding Plegia's plans, is TheMole - she treats him coldly as a result of this. A segment at the end of a chapter in her POV, where she and her forces are captured, makes her realise they were wrong about him and she feels guilty for not trusting him earlier. When he breaks her out of the Plegian dungeons she shows her remorse and apologises sincerely to him... though she still can't remember his name.
* LadyOfWar: Demonstrated by this skilled Falcon Knight more than in canon.
* RunningGag: She never seems to get Cameron's name right!
* SparedByTheAdaptation: [[spoiler:Thanks to Cam and Julian interfering in Emmeryn's HeroicSuicide, she and a number of her Pegasus Knights survive the Risen onslaught summoned by Aversa during the Rescue Mission/]]
* UndyingLoyalty: To Emmeryn, and by extension to all House Ylisse.

!! [[spoiler:Matthew]]

A blonde-haired man who first appears during the Ylisse/Plegia War. Apparently in league with some assassins sent after Lissa, he quickly exposes the Hierarch as TheMole within the Ylissean forces, vindicating Cameron (whose warnings about Plegia's plans cast suspicion upon himself. He incapacitates the Hierarch before fleeing.

He returns during the Timeskip Arc, where his true identity is revealed: [[spoiler:Matthew, one of the heroes of Eliwood's heroes army. Having fought to save Elibe twice, first from Nergal's schemes and years later against King Zephiel's invading armies, his efforts have rewarded him with becoming an Einherjar. Existing on the mortal plane on-off for the past few hundred years, he was sent by Tom/Xane to assist Cameron in his efforts to protect this part of the multiverse from Grima and Lucien.]]
----

* TheBusCameBack: In the Timeskip Arc.
* ChekhovsGunman: Looks like a random bit part in his first appearance, but comes back much later with a vengeance and a meatier role in the plot.
* GoodAllAlong: Helping stop the Hierarch when he attacks Cameron hints at it. [[spoiler:His reappearance confirms it.]]
* TheLancer: [[spoiler:For Cameron's vigilante group, being of the opposite temperament and the one who knows most about what's fully going on.]] He also helps train [[spoiler:Fire/Eiryss and Cynthia]] to become stronger fighters and works as TheMentor in a manner of speaking, which is in line with the traditional role of TheLancer (as the experience OlderSidekick to TheHero).
* NumberTwo: [[spoiler:Tom's agent, who was assigned to give Cameron and the others assistance in a hands-on manner.]] He eventually becomes [[spoiler:Cameron's right-hand man in the Swordwind group.]]
* [[spoiler:OurGhostsAreDifferent]]
* PerpetualSmiler: [[spoiler:He's Matthew - this is to be expected.]]
* StepfordSmiler: [[spoiler:Like in [=FE7=], he buries his own anguish under a cheerful smile; when he's confronting Cameron over the implications of trying to resurrect Anna, and reveals just what the afterlife has become since Grima destroyed Heaven, his serious side truly shows. It's not very cheerful at all.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: He is [[spoiler:the Einherjar of the hero Matthew.]]

!! Pheros

A general of the Valmese army with an UndyingLoyalty towards her leader, Walhart. She pulls aside Mal's ship due to them passing in Imperial waters, causing some tension. Her fleet is soon after devastated by Lambda, with the future kids barely evading death, though Pheros is likely still alive
----

* AntiVillain[=/=]AffablyEvil: She's utterly civil and courteous towards Mal, yet he's very much aware that if she suspects their true intentions and allegiance, they'd be done for.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Pheros doesn't appear in the games until roughly midway through the Valm Arc. Her she and her fleet appear well over a year before said arc even begins.
* TheWorfEffect: What better way to showcase the extent of Lambda's powers (without showing her onscreen, to boot) than by having her ''devastate a naval fleet commandeered by a'' '''Valmese general'''?

!! Maugan/Ruger

The bandit leader who impersonate Chrom within the Valmese continent, tricking Cynthia along the way. He turns out to be a skilled disguise artist - contrary to popular opinion - which convinces Cameron to spare his life when he has him at his mercy. He decides to use Maugan's skill as he sets out to [[spoiler:form a small band of vigilantes who will [[WeHelpTheHelpless protect the common people from atrocities on ''all'' sides of the Valmese conflict.]]]]
----

* AscendedExtra: Given he was a one-off villain in the game.
* AdaptationalBadass: In the games he's pretty much just a DirtyCoward who bullies villages, and his skill at truly disguising himself is never touched upon. Here, he's quite skilled at disguising himself, and while he did abuse a position as a bandit leader he's less cowardly - he's still an asshole and is helping Cameron through blackmail, but is more grudging than outright cowardice due to his self-preservation.
* AdaptationalHeroism: Ruger in the game was an exploitative DirtyCoward and ManipulativeBastard who showed no scruples; meanwhile, while Maugan might be a dick he's got a few virtues as well and isn't nearly so pointlessly cruel.
* AdaptationNameChange: Both subverted and played straight - in the Asleep-verse, Maugan is his ''real'' name; Ruger was just one of many names he'd adopted as he drifted through life.
%%zce* Anti Hero
* CowardlyLion[=/=]LovableCoward: ''Kind of''. He's a dick, but he's not a completely detestable wimp like in canon.
* TheDrifter: Just goes through lives as he pleases, taking on new lives as he feels necessary (or just wishes to).
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Maugen might be an a-hole who terrorised villagers and slandered a good man's name in the process, but the [[FridgeHorror implications of what]] [[AristocratsAreEvil Count Zytle of the Valmese Empire]] does to the children he holds captive... make him look visibly sickened.
* HeelFaceTurn: By force.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Apparently, he served under Frederick as an apprentice during one of his many lives, and [[CanonWelding served under Gecko, the bandit leader who searches for treasure in the area Owain is located at]] (for additional points, the two have a PaletteSwap [[MythologyGag in the game]]).
* IHaveManyNames: Ruger being one of them - some eight in total, from what he says.
* {{Jerkass}}: Not the nicest or most selfless guy.
* MasterOfDisguise: Good enough to make Cynthia ''not'' look like an idiot for believing him to be actually Chrom.
* OhCrap: When he hears about what Cameron is planning.
* SarcasticDevotee: Since he probably feels he's got nothing to lose, he makes it clear he's just along for the ride and doesn't care for his new allies.
* TheSmartGuy: In [[spoiler:Cameron's vigilante group]], starting with the TimeSkip arc.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: For anyone who plays through Cynthia's recruitment chapter or just considers all the Future Children to be canon (which would be pretty much everyone, of course, so it pretty much makes no difference.)
* TokenEvilTeammate: He's kind of an asshole (being a onetime bandit leader), and nobody [[spoiler:in Cameron's group]] actually likes him. They seem to at least trust that he won't backstab them, though.

!! [[spoiler:Innes]]

The one-time [[spoiler:King of Frelia, of the lost Magvel continent, and a hero of legend]]. He is assigned by Tom/[[spoiler:Xane]] to ensure that [[spoiler:Emmeryn]] is protected, as she has been targeted at least once and has to be kept alive in this timeline. hHer knowledge of the Pantheon enables him to have more leeway in terms of sharing knowledge than might otherwise be possible.
----

* DeadpanSnarker: It's [[spoiler:Innes]], what were you expecting?
* UnexpectedCharacter: Nobody was expecting [[spoiler:''another'' Einherjar (along with Matthew)]] to show up.
