20* MistakenForGay: When they first meet in Charlotte, Nagato [[spoiler:is in the middle of her shift as a prostitute at the Fantasy Express hotel]], so judging by Damon's unwillingness to give her any kind of sexual attention, she comes to the conclusion that Damon prefers men, though this is quickly rectified. This is a joke that others will bring up from time to time regarding Damon's heterosexual-yet-abstinate nature.
21* NiceGuy: She has a 100% Comradeship rating.
22* TheStoic: Maintained; whenever she is portrayed, she's always serious and duty-driven, without the usual NotSoStoic tendencies that fandom tends to give her. She does have a few moments where she seems she'll break this mold, but nothing that truly breaks her character.
23* StoneWall: Subverted because, well, [[CaptainObvious battleships are quite powerful.]] Presence of offensive capabilities aside, she's already one of the tankiest, if not ''the'' tankiest, ship girls in the story with 2000 armor points and 3500 health points, and her Big Seven passive ability gives her a few but powerful defensive buffs and make her armor more effective at mitigating damage than normal. In addition, so far in the story, no matter how bad the battles become, the battleships have ''always'' survived.

She's very proud of her Japanese heritage, but she cultivates an acute resentment of Americans and the US due to Japan's ultimate loss in the war and all the pain and suffering they'd caused onto her comrades. It only gets worse when she's told of the tragedies some of her fleet comrades have had to go through so far, and the ones that she learns of as time goes on, particularly during the Coalition campaigns.
48* BoisterousBruiser: Subverted, she hasn't uttered a single boast, perhaps due to her slight AdaptationPersonalityChange.
49* CharacterDevelopment: While she begins as hostile towards Damon for much of the story, her opinion of him finally changes after [[spoiler:Whiskey Hotel]], because by that point even she cannot ignore the extraordinary effort he's made for the sake of the fleet.
50* {{Determinator}}: Keeping true to her ingame stats, Musashi also has the triple threat: an immense 14 in endurance, 100% in Critical Damage Resist, and another 100% in Will.

53* LongRangeFighter: Stands out among the battleships because she is the only one who wields a dedicated long-range firearm, a 25mm grenade sniper rifle, in combat.
54* MightyGlacier: Is more this than Nagato is due to her higher defense rating (11) and slower speed (4), with the same armor and health points as her. Her passive ability, Stubborn, cranks up the notch on this trope by allowing Musashi to take 50% less damage from all incoming attacks when her health drops below 50%.
55* SlaveToPR: Self-inflicted; as revealed in her Fleet Log, while she approved of Damon's ultraviolent execution of the Harpers of Nashville, her long-cultivated anti-Damon image meant that she could never admit it. [[spoiler:This changes after Damon rescues the fleet from Blackwood.]]

Her introduction into the fleet is the time when her personality is the most drastically changed from the game, due to her forced affiliation with the Inner Circle and the Abyssals and her initial deep distrust of Damon because of how they first met. She rapidly improves once she joins the fleet to return to the more traditional Kongou.

64* CainAndAbel: Subverted. During the London operation, there was a chance for Kongou to fight against Haruna due to the circumstances surrounding the operation, but thankfully for the two sisters, they don't actually meet each other while hostilities are up.
65* CultureChopSuey: Has a Lancashire accent, great liking for tea, British heritage, Japanese fluency, a modified Japanese shrine maiden uniform and Desu.

These are [[MeaningfulName all references to Kongou's name]], which literally means "Indestructible" in English.

Incidentally, it's also the name of her one passive ability...that allows everyone fighting around her to ignore any insanity gained upwards of 30%. Anything above that, however, and they will still suffer the entire penalty.
89* HumbleHero: Maintained in this story, most notably through the conversation that she has with Benjamin: she insists that Benjamin shouldn't abuse his position of power in the fleet as a fleet programmer in efforts to track down the missing Kongou-Class, Kirishima and Hiei.
90* InformedAttribute: In the game, while Haruna never says this about herself, Kirishima notes that Haruna is just as intelligent as she is. This detail carries over into the story, as she possesses a [[TheSmartGuy strong intelligence rating of 11.]]
91* LightningBruiser: Just like her sister Kongou. Even though she is a lesser example of this, she still qualifies as a fast battlecruiser with powerful armaments, a fast speed rating of 8, and respectable armor and hit points at 1800 apiece.
92* ShrinkingViolet: Subverted; her shyness isn't exaggerated, per se, as it is in fanworks, but her reserved nature doesn't allow for her to take the spotlight many times in the story.

99* AllohistoricalAllusion: While not fleshed out as much as the one among Akagi, Kaga, Takao, and Amagi, Fusou shares one with Ise and Hyuuga because the Ise-Class were first conceived as members of the Fusou-Class but then were revised heavily due to all the numerous design flaws found in the Fusou-Class. This relationship among the three is hinted at several times throughout the story, with a clear example being in chapter 283, when, while the fleet is posing for one last funny picture for Aoba, Ise and Hyuuga pull Fusou up so that Fusou ends up sitting on their shoulders.
100* BrokenBird: [[spoiler:Appears to have become this, from what observations Damon has made of her after Operation South Town, in light of Shigure's death.]]
101* CharacterDevelopment: A minor one in her backstory, but Fusou admits to struggling with her new life in America, primarily because she couldn't get over her sharp concern for Yamashiro, such as her well-being and her whereabouts. Since then, however, she's accepted the fact that whatever has happened to Yamashiro are things she can't do anything about, and that the two of them will meet again when the time comes. And when Damon and his fleet meet them at New Chicago for the first time, she willingly goes along with Mr. Araki's orders for her, Furutaka, and Kitakami to join Damon's fleet because this means she now has a realistic way to search for her missing sister.
102* MightyGlacier: Subverted; while she's got a poor 2 in speed and a respectable 2000 hit points, her defense is only 6, and her armor points only tally in at 1000, which isn't that great compared to the rest of the battleships in the story.

109* KatanasAreJustBetter: It's even listed as a passive ability for both Ise and Hyuuga to wield katanas more effectively, gain bonus experience for kills she gets with katanas, and teach other people how to use katanas. She is especially close with Akagi.
123* AlternateUniverse: Perhaps the meta reason why she was introduced into the story, before the canon Amagi came along. It's also the name of her passive ability, with which she gives Takao, Akagi, Atago (not yet found in the story), Kaga, and Tosa (also not yet found in the story) combat bonuses if they deploy together.
124* AntiquatedLinguistics: ''The'' user of this in the fleet. She uses this when speaking both English and Japanese, but she's still readily understood.

130* MythologyGag: When the canon Amagi was finally implemented, the author had the fleet have a fashion show in Damon's mansion in New Chicago, in which Amagi was participating and wore a kimono that matches the one that the canon Amagi wears in her base form.
131* NecessaryDrawback: Has the highest amount of hit points in the entire story according to the stat sheet at a whopping 4000, but in exchange, Amagi has no armor points to speak of, meaning that all the damage that she takes will deal full damage every time, because she has no armor to reduce incoming damage.
