Anime characters sure love their catchphrases, [[Manga/RozenMaiden desu]].

Due to the sizeable nature of the page, and the fact that it will keep growing, please try to keep them in alphabetical order by series on this page so it doesn't delve into chaos. Series with title variations between seasons are listed under their original titles.

If the phrase has become popular due to the audience repeating it, and not the characters in the show, it belongs in MemeticMutation. AbridgedSeries references belong in the CatchPhrase/WebOriginal section.

!!Examples:
* ''Manga/The100GirlfriendsWhoReallyReallyReallyReallyReallyLoveYou'':
** Rentarou: "And so, due to how things panned out, would you guys mind accepting [new girl] as my newest girlfriend...?!"
** Mei: "Understood." and "If I may be so bold."
** Iku: "It hurts...!❤️"
** Yamame: "X are living things, too."
** Kishika: "[[LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain Just kill me!]]"
** Ahko: "That sends me."[[note]]"[[PhraseCatcher Where?]]"[[/note]] and "Cuuute!"
** Rin: "Molto violento!"
* ''Manga/AceOfTheDiamond'': At some point during every match he plays, Eijun Sawamura will always say "Balls will go flying, so thanks for defending!"
* ''Anime/AgathaChristiesGreatDetectivesPoirotAndMarple'': The series gives one to Poirot, for when he's had his EurekaMoment but has yet to give his summation of the case. "There are no unsolvable mysteries! The truth has smiled upon me again."
* ''VisualNovel/{{AIR}}'': Misuzu's "gao".
** The V-sign she makes while shouting "V" counts as well.
** And who can resist her "nihaha"? Well, aside from Yukito, that is.
* ''Manga/{{Akagi}}'': Akagi's chuckle. Typically used when he's just about to ''destroy someone by playing mahjong''.
* ''Anime/AngelBeats'': "Get chance and luck!" -TK
** "How foolish." -Shiina
** "[[GratuitousEnglish Operation Start!]] -Yurippe
** "Call Me Christ" [[DoNotCallMePaul -Takeyama]]
** "What an idiot" -Yui
* ''Manga/AngelicLayer'' gives each Deus her own [[InTheNameOfTheMoon entry phrase]], but Misaki also has her "Naa!" ("Eeks!" in the English manga) exclamation... and let's not forget wiggly Icchan...
* ''Manga/{{ARIA}}'':
** Aika often corrects her friends by shouting "Embarrassing remarks are not allowed!" (''Hazukashii serifu kinshi!''), but to her defense it has to be said that her friends are indeed very prone to saying awfully silly things. If Akari doesn't respond with "Ehhh?" something is wrong. Aika also has several variations of that phrase, like "Old-man jokes are not allowed!" which is directed to one of Al's puns.
** Alicia often utters "Ara ara" ("well well"), along with a giggle to signify her good-natured and easy-going disposition. That it tends to infuriate other people at times doesn't faze her in the least.
* ''Literature/AriaTheScarletAmmo'': Aria has "I'll blast a hole in you!".
* ''Manga/AstroBoy'' in the English translation shouts "go...go...GO!" when applying his strength.
* ''Manga/AzumangaDaioh'': "Ah!"
* ''Manga/BeautyPop'': Kiri often proclaims that she will "add some magic". And she does. [[SeriousBusiness Through hairstyling]].
* ''Manga/BlackButler'':
** [[BattleButler Sebastian]]: "Aku made shitsuji desu kara." (Translated: "I am one ''hell'' of a butler." or "I am a butler to the core.") This is a pun since "akuma" means "demon" and depending on the kanji used it can also be translated as "I am a demon and a butler." Sebastian's used this meaning once or twice before, as well... usually before slaughtering whoever it was he was ordered to kill.
*** "I am merely one hell of a deer"
** [[GratuitousEnglish "Yes, my lord."]]
** "It is only natural that a servant of Phantomhive would be able to (insert whatever task was just accomplished)."
*** Funimation translated it as " A Phantomhive butler who isn't able to do (whatever just happened) isn't worth his salt" Ciel eventually ends the phrase after a while.
* ''Manga/BlackCat'': Train has his "I've come to bring some bad luck" line. {{Lampshaded}} as being his catchphrase by [[BigBad Creed]], who repeats it and says that that is indeed the Black Cat's trademark line.
* ''Manga/BlackClover'':
** Asta bellows "I'm not done yet!" when he refuses to give up.
** Yuno: "There's no way."
** Noelle Silva: "I'm royalty."
* ''Anime/TheBigO'' utilizes two catch-phrases: "Showtime!" and "Action!", which summon the titular robot to Roger Smith's current location and give Roger control, respectively. His android companion Dorothy asks him in one episode why he always says that, but receives no answer. StrawNihilist pilot Schwarzwald cleverly translated his catchphrase into German: "Es gibt Showzeit!", or rather the closest approximation the Japanese voice actor could manage. Note that this is in fact grammatically incorrect, "Es gibt" (which literally means "It gives") means something like "There is/exists". This was actually corrected to "Es ist Showzeit!" in the subtitles. ( Although you... can't really say that, either. )
** In addition, in the final episode Roger activates the Big O's FinishingMove WaveMotionGun with the command "Final Stage!"
** The phrase is shown to be a literal vocal activation in one episode, when a villain builds a robot bust of Roger and has it learn to call "Big O!" in the exact same fashion. Combining this with Roger's watch led to an attempt to have Big O follow the robot off a pier and sink.
** Several times R. Dorothy Wainright told the hero "You're a louse, Roger Smith".
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'': Nova has "Not a problem".
** Don't forget Dondochakka, don'tcha know!
** Don Kanonji "The spirits are always with you!" commonly followed by his other catch phrase "Bwahaha!"
** Anyone who has ever achieved shikai has a catchphrase totally unique to themselves (except for Ichigo and Kenpachi).
** Don´t forget Arrancar, niño.
** Rukia: "Tawake!" in Japanese
** Toshiro: "It's '''[[TheycallmeMisterTibbs Captain]]''' Hitsugaya."
* ''Manga/BoboboBobobobo'': Why is this the best catchphrase? I'll tell why: It's because...I'M A TORPEDO!
* ''Manga/BusoRenkin'':
** [[ActionGirlfriend Tokiko Tsumura]] is known for using the phrase "I'll splatter... your guts!", or some variation on the theme, when she fights. [[DownplayedTrope While the phrase does become less prominent in the second half of the series]], it is still notable enough that the anime used it as an OnTheNextEpisodeOfCatchphrase.
** When using his LargeHam persona, [[TheGoodCaptain Captain Bravo]] has a habit of using "Bravo!" as a catchphrase whenever possible but will [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness drop it when he is serious]], or when he is speaking as Mamoru Sakimori.
* ''Manga/BusterKeel'':
** "Funky!"
** "Bingo!"
* ''Manga/CardcaptorSakura'': "Zettai, daijyoubu dayo!" ("Everything will surely be alright!")
* Ran from ''Anime/CarriedByTheWindTsukikageRan'' likes to display her modesty by claiming: "I am just a beautiful traveler". She also tends to find things "utterly inexcusable".
* ''Manga/CaseClosed'':
** "I'm Conan Edogawa, Detective!"
** "One truth prevails!"
** "A re re"? (Used for Conan to create {{Eureka Moment}}s.)
** "Oi, oi." (For [[DeadpanSnarker deadpan snarking]].)

** Touma has "[[TheJinx Fukou da...]]" and variations of "I will ''destroy'' that messed up illusion of yours!"
** Komoe-sensei would like Kamijyo-chan to know he must take remedial lessons because he's stupid, [[VerbalTic desu~]]!
* ''Manga/Classi9'': Wagner's automatic response to anything is "I refuse", so much Tchaikovsky and Mozart always picture him saying it. Demon!Liszt also used these words to kill Tchaikovsky's interest in him, and it worked.
* ''Anime/CodeGeass'':
** "All HAIL BRITANNIA!" When [[LargeHam Jeremiah Gottwald]] is particularly nettled.
*** Also, after his HeelFaceTurn, Jeremiah loves to talk about his ''loyalty!''
---> "[[EmbarrassingNickname Orange]], you say? ''(chuckles)'' [[InsultBackfire That is the name of my loyalty!]]"
** "Yes, your majesty!"
** "I, Lelouch vi Britannia, command you..." and "...With all your strength!" for... well, it should be pretty obvious.
*** "The only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed!" Also Lelouch's primary ArcWords.
** "All tasks at hand have been cleared" may also count.
** "(With this) all the conditions have been cleared."
** "What do people value most? That's right, ''their lives''!" This is [[SociopathicSoldier Luciano Bradley]]'s PreMortemOneLiner.
** "This is why I hate Britannians!" Kallen Kozuki, who utterly hates the empire that subjugated her people. (At least for the first season, and early R2).
* ''Anime/CuteyHoney'': "Kawaru wa yo!" (I'm gonna change!)
* ''Anime/{{Dancougar}}'': Shinobu Fujiwara has a tendency to yell out "Yatteyaruze!" (Let's do it!) when he is about to pull off some ass kicking.
* ''Manga/TheDangersInMyHeart'': “This is Yamada”, by Ichikawa [[InnerMonologue to himself]] whenever he tries to interpret Yamada’s thoughts. Or after misinterpreting Yamada’s thoughts. Doubles as a PhraseCatcher.
* ''Anime/DarkerThanBlack'': November 11 is ''always'' [[IWasJustJoking just joking]].
* ''Manga/DeathNote'':
** [[Characters/DeathNoteLightYagami Light Yagami]]:

*** "[[AllAccordingToPlan Exactly as planned]]."
*** "[[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial I'm not Kira]]!"

* ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}'':
** In ''Anime/DigimonDataSquad'', Yoshino is known for saying "this is the worst."
** In the dub version of the series, ''Digimon Data Squad'', Marcus has been assigned the catch phrase of "it's fightin' time!" This actually doesn't end up being very intrusive because...well, it ''is'' fighting time most of the time on this show.
** Marcus parodies it himself in the series' eighth episode, when it's lunch... err, that is, ''eating'' time.
*** Yoshino also parodies hers at the end of the first episode, when she says that ''Marcus'' is the worst.
** Gaomon's catchphrase is either "Yes, Master!" or "Sir, yes, sir!" depending on which version you're watching.
** In ''Anime/DigimonAdventure02'', Miyako also ends up using the phrase "Bingo!" quite often, to the point where it becomes a phrase and part of the main title in her ImageSong, "Crash de Bingo". In the dub, this became Yolei's "Perfecto!".
** In ''Anime/DigimonTamers'' -- since his human tamer's ButNotTooForeign -- Terriermon gets "Moumantai," a Cantonese phrase meaning 'take it easy'. The dub kept it, and it was also used in ''his'' ImageSong, "Anytime Moumantai."
** In ''Anime/DigimonFrontier'', Izumi says "Commozione!" (Italian for 'commotion') whenever she's especially happy or pleased. She still speaks Italian in the dub (in which her name is Zoe), just not that particular word.
** The dub also gives Izzy "Prodigious!" in ''Anime/DigimonAdventure'' and a group catchphrase of "Aw, ''nuts''!" in ''Anime/DigimonTamers.'' Almost everyone says it at least once.
** "It's SHOWTIME!" [[spoiler: Once you find out what a twisted sadist Kurata is, ''his'' catchphrase will send a chill down your spine for the rest of your life]]. Also used in both versions.
** ''Anime/DigimonFusion'' has a couple from the main leads.
*** Taiki has "I just can't turn my back on him/her!" to show his ChronicHeroSyndrome.
*** Shoutmon has "You really wanna know? Then I will tell you!" and variations of that quote whenever he is about to beat someone's ass. He even uses it in the ''final battle''.
* ''Anime/DragonBallZ'':
** Vegeta: "I am Vegeta, prince of all Saiyans!"
** In the Latin American dub, Vegeta has the catchphrase "Insect!"
** Goku often says in the original Japanese version when struggling with a powerful opponent “I ain’t giving up!”.
** Goku also frequently says “I’m getting excited!” (Japanese: “Waku waku suruzo!”) when a battle starts to intensify.

** Nadie: "If you've got any last words, say them now."

** "This world is '''corrupt'''!"
* ''Manga/Eyeshield21''. Good lord, ''Eyeshield 21.''
** Hiruma has "YA-HA," as well as "fucking" nicknames for everyone he meets.
** Taki has "A ha ha!" usually accompanied by a wink and an artful high kick. He also tends to describe things as "100%!" and his response to any failure on his part is "That's impossible!"
** Monta punctuates his speech with "MAX!," and the most common variation on this--"Catch MAX!"--is probably a catchphrase in its own right. He's, like, Catchphrase MAX!
** Kurita uses the nonsense word "Funnuraba!" when tackling or blocking players, which is eventually adopted by the entire line.
** Ishimaru often says "It's okay, it's okay," though we can't blame you if you don't remember him.
** Juumonji, Kuroki, and Togano as a group tend to, when encountering something unbelievable, outrageous, infuriating, or otherwise provocative, say "Hah?" "Haaah?" "HAAAAAAAH?!" in succession, progressively louder and more emphatic each time--leading people to refer to them as the "Hah-Hah Brothers."
** In the anime, at least, Harao replaces "my" with "mine," leading to such constructions as "mine field," "mine team," et cetera. He's got antiquated speech across the board (occasionally slipping into "thou" and such in the manga); That's only part of it. Generally remarked upon as being annoying by other characters.
** Agon Kongo calls those inferior to him (that is to say, [[JerkJock everyone]]), "trash."
** Ikkyu peppers his speech with the phrase "oni," which in Japanese serves to emphasize words, and is sometimes translated as "completely." The official English translation by ''Magazine/ShonenJump'' is "freakin" (not to be confused with Hiruma's catch phrase, which is changed to "Damn").
** Kotaro Sasaki's catchphrase is the word "smart" in English, but in context means something more like "cool"--e.g. "That's smart," "That's not smart," "Smartly," et cetera.
*** Hayato Akabi, on the other hand, often punctuates his sentences with "Fu."
** Kisaragi, being a ridiculously thin and sparkly {{Bishonen}}, says that most things are "beautiful," but the iteration that becomes his catchphrase is "Strength is beautiful."

** Two teams--the Deimon Devil Bats and the Oujou White Knights--even have their own catchphrases, chanted in the pregame huddle: "We're gonna kill 'em!" and "Glory on the Kingdom," respectively.
** Ikari of the Ojou White Knights has an often-repeated battlecry of "Ora ora!"
** Yamato Takeru of the Teikoku Alexanders has one of the more epic catch phrases in "It's settled! It's my win!" Bonus points are earned when he says it in a SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome as he [[spoiler: takes down [[WorldsStrongestMan Mr Don]] in the World Cup]].
* ''Manga/FairyTail'':
** Ichiya has a habit of saying, "[[Creator/ShowHayami Men!!!]]" In the English Dub, it's "Man!!!"
** Natsu always pumps himself for battle by saying, "I'm all fired up." In the English Dub, it's occasionally translated as "Now I've got a fire in my belly!", but he says both versions quite commonly. Usually he says the latter after managing to consume and absorb a source of fire, which grants him his powers.
** Happy the Exceed has two. When in agreement with someone, he lets out an enthusiastic "Aye!" (or "Aye, sir!"). He also has the habit to shout, "[[ShipperOnDeck S/He liiiiikes you]]!" whenever he suspects ShipTease... which is a lot of the time. The English Dub has him say, "You loooooooove him/her!"
** Frosh has "Fro thinks so, too."
** To a lesser degree, Jason the photographer often says, "[[GratuitousEnglish Cool]]!"

** [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] occasionally by the villains. In one memorable case, Souther's overseeing of the humiliation and execution of a friend of Kenshiro's is interrupted by a bloodied and beaten mook sliding near him. Souther, instantly knowing who did this, casually says, "'You are already dead,' huh?" to the mook, who promptly [[YourHeadAsplode explodes]]. Cue dramatic entrance of Kenshiro.
** This catchphrase is also used by Kenshiro's predecessor and namesake, Kenshiro Kasumi from ''Manga/FistOfTheBlueSky''. He says it in Chinese, "''Ni yi jin su le!''"
*** Kasumi's actual catchphrase in ''Blue Sky'' is actually "If you got a problem with Hokuto, tell it to me!" or some variation of it.
* ''Anime/{{FLCL}}'':
--> Naota : ''[[MadnessMantra Nothing amazing happens here. Everything is ordinary.]]''
** There's also Haruko's "CHAAAANCE!", and using "ITADAKIMASU!" ("LUNCH TIME!" in the dub) as CallingYourAttacks.
* ''Manga/FoodWars'': Soma Yukihira has two: "Dig In!" (or ''"Oagariyo!"'' in Japanese) which he uses when presenting a dish, and most frequently ''"Osomatsu!"'', which can mean "Happy to Serve" or "Glad you enjoyed it!" depending on translation.
* From ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'':
** Alex Louis Armstrong's catchphrase: "This [.....] has been passed down through the Armstrong line for generations".
*** The catchphrase itself appears to have been passed down through the family, as his sister uses it to describe her sword.

** Sloth's catchphrase: Mendokusai (Translated as "How troublesome"), also accompanied by the activity he is ordered to do but also used alone.
*** In the English Dub, Sloth usually says "Such a Pain."
* ''Literature/FullMetalPanic'' Sousuke Sagara says "''Mondai nai''," ("Not a problem,") often enough for it to be his CatchPhrase. On at least one occasion it prompts Kaname to reply furiously that it's a "''big'' problem!"
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5p2Ehzt4Ss You were sayin'?]]
* ''Literature/TheHeroIsOverpoweredButOverlyCautious'' has Seiya Ryuuguuin's "[[GratuitousEnglish Ready perfectly.]] I'm completely and utterly prepared for this."

** ''Anime/YesPrettyCure5'': Nagisa's pseudo-{{Expy}} Rin says "nano", a general exclamation, [[VerbalTic after every sentence]], and GenkiGirl Nozomi likes to say "kettei~" ("It's decided!") when she plans something, as well as "mite, mite, mite!", ("Watch it, watch it, watch it!"), to both [[OnTheNextEpisodeOfCatchPhrase the viewers at the next episode preview]] and someone she's trying to distract.
** In ''Anime/FreshPrettyCure'', all [[strike:three]] four girls have a catchphrase.

*** Miki: "I'm perfect!"
*** Inori: "I believe!"
*** Setsuna: "I'll try with all my might!"
** ''Anime/HeartcatchPrettyCure'' has it a little different: instead there are limit phrases uttered by the Cures when they're at the limit of their patience. On the other hand, a more traditional catchphrase would be supporting character Nanami's "A smile is the best!"
** ''Anime/SmilePrettyCure'' has a few as well:
*** Miyuki likes to pepper things with "Ultra Happy" (Yes, [[GratuitousEnglish in English]]) If she's in a bad mood or annoyed, she tends to grumble "Happupu~" (translated into "Boo, boo, boo~!"). Combine those two and you get "Ultra Happupu~"
*** Nao tends to replace "BringIt" type of words into "A straight-up bout!" (It's also her part role call)

* ''Anime/GaoGaiGar'', taken from the finishing of Goldion Hammer/Crusher: "HIKARI NI NAREEEE!" ("BECOME THE/TRANSFORM/BE REDUCED TO LIIIIGHT!"). This one becomes so popular that it almost always become a staple object for ''[=GaoGaiGar=]'' parodies in other series, especially on characters voiced by Creator/NobuyukiHiyama, Guy Shishioh's voice actor.
** Guy also has "I'm the invincible/superhuman Cyborg Guy!" In ''FINAL'', it becomes "I'm the superhuman Evoluder!"

** [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamThe08thMSTeam Shiro]]: "I will live! I will live and marry Aina!"
** [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam0083StardustMemory Kou Uraki]]: "[[SayMyName GATOOOOOOOOO!]]"
** [[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam Domon Kasshu]]: "This hand of mine glows with an awesome power. Its burning grip tells me to defeat you!"
*** Later on, after his MidSeasonUpgrade, he changes it up: "This hand of mine is burning red! Its bright glow tells me to grasp victory!"
** Also from Fighter G, Master Asia: "You stupid pupil!"
** [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Heero Yuy]]: "I'll kill you," "Mission accepted," and "Mission complete."
** [[Anime/TurnAGundam Harry Ord]]: "UNIVEEEEEEEERSE!"
** [[Anime/TurnAGundam Gym Ghingnham]]: "GEKOCHOU DE ARU!" [[note]]"THIS IS THE MOONLIGHT BUTTERFLY!" [[/note]]
** [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED Mu La Flaga]]: "I'm the man who makes the impossible possible."
*** Also from ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED Gundam SEED]]'' and ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEEDDestiny SEED Destiny]]'', Blue Cosmos has their "For the preservation of our blue and pure world!", usually just before doing something horrible to Coordinators (or sometimes not even that specifically).
** [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Setsuna F. Seiei]]: "I am a Gundam!" "Exterminating targets!" "There is no God in this world!"
** [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Lockon Stratos]]: "Sniping the target!" (sub)/ "Targeted and firing!" (dub).
*** Lyle actually invokes this trope in that he asked Haro if Neil said anything prior to going into a fight and Haro responded with the second line, hence why Lyle always says that one. Quite strange in that the only time Neil used that version, he was out of Haro's earshot and was [[spoiler:about to die]] so Haro should've no way of knowing Neil said that. Perhaps Neil said it on an occasion that was not shown on-screen?
*** In the second season, Lasse casually snarks that very same line when Lockon [[spoiler:surprises Anew with a love declaration on an open frequency]].
---->'''Lasse:''' ''(After hearing [[spoiler: Lyle's confession to Anew]])'' He's targeted and firing alright...
*** And Lockon inverts it for the final battle in the movie: "Time to fire ''WITHOUT'' TARGETING!" Justified in that with the BeamSpam he promptly unleashed, it was impossible ''not'' to hit the ELS' ZergRush. As well as the fact that his Gundam Zabanya had two [[RobotBuddy Haro]]s doing the targeting.
** [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Tieria Erde]]: "Banshi ni ataisuru!" [[note]]"You deserve to die ten thousand times!"[[/note]]
** [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Allelujah Haptism]]: "[[SayMyName MARIE!]]"
*** When you hear him scream "Sōdaro, '''''ALLELUJAH?!'''''"[[note]]"Isn't that right, Allelujah?!"[[/note]] though... ''run like hell'' as [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Hallelujah]] is the one in control.
*** Allelujah actually says the phrase right back during their brief SplitPersonalityMerge in the first season finale.
** ''SD Gundam'' cast: "BOPPIN'!"
* ''VideoGame/HarukanaruTokiNoNakaDe'' has a few, most notably [[UsefulNotes/{{Onmyodo}} Yasuaki's]] "mondai nai" ("no problem"); other characters tend to have some as well, for instance, [[{{Samurai}} Yorihisa]] often uses "moushiwake gozaimasen" and similar phrases (with the meaning of [[ApologisesALot "I'm very sorry"]] said in an incredibly formal way).
* ''Manga/{{Haikyuu}}'':
** Kageyama repeats "Hinata, dumbass!" whenever Hinata is being Hinata.
** Yamaguchi's trademark dialogue, especially in early in the series was "Sorry, Tsukki!" It is usually warranted after Tsukishima murmurs a bored "Shut up, Yamaguchi."
** Bokuto and his "Hey, hey, hey!" are inseparable.
** More than one occasion Hinata says "I'm short but I can fly/jump!" when someone points out his unfavourable height for volleyball.
* ''Manga/HeavensLostProperty'': Tomoki has "Peace and quiet is the best."
* ''Anime/HellGirl'': OnceAnEpisode, Enma Ai sends someone to Hell with an awesome speech that ends with her famous CatchPhrase: "Ippen, shinde miru?" This literally means something like "Want to try dying once?", but most subs use the more natural "Would you like to see what death is like?", and the dub goes with "Perhaps... it is time to die?" Some of the show's funniest moments involve other characters saying the line.
** Another of Ai's OnceAnEpisode lines, "The rest is up to you" (spoken to a contractor after she's explained the rules), has reached the level of catchphrase.
* ''Manga/{{Hellsing}}'':
** "SAACHI ANDO DESUTOROI!" / "SEARCH AND DESTROY!"
** "Yesu, mai masuta." / "Yes, my master." (Alucard)
** Say it with me, everyone: "'''''AAAAAMEEEEEEENNNNN!''''' (Alexander Anderson)
* ''Manga/HentaiKamen'' 's OnceAnEpisode "Justice/Judgement!"
* ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'':
** Russia has two he's known for:
*** "This trope will become one with Russia, da?"
*** [=KolKolKolKolKolKol=]
** Belarus has one: [[{{Yandere}} Let's get married! Married! MARRIED!]]
** America's known for the following: [[LeeroyJenkins I'll be the hero, of course!]] or alternatively "I'm the hero!"
** [[LovableCoward North Italy]]: [[TrademarkFavouriteFood Pastaaaa~!]]
* ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry'':
** Rika has "Nipaa~" and "Mii~".
** Rena has both "Hauu! [[ImTakingHerHomeWithMe Omochikaeri!]]" and '''''[+USO DA!+][[note]]LIAR![[/note]]''''', though ironically she only [[spoiler:[[UnreliableNarrator actually]]]] uses the latter less then four times.
** ''[[MadnessMantra Gomen nasai gomen nasai gomen nasai gomen nasai gomen nasai gomen nasai gomen nasai...]]''[[note]]''I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry...''[[/note]] by [[spoiler:Hanyuu]]
* From ''Manga/InuYasha'':
** Kagome: "Osuwari!" / "Sit, boy!"
** [[HandsomeLech Miroku]] asks every lovely woman he meets: "Will you please bear my child?"
* ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'':
** During the events of ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventurePhantomBlood Phantom Blood]]'', Straizo has a tendency to say "I, Straizo, will show no mercy!".
** Joseph Joestar has bunch of phrases that could count as this:
*** Throughout ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureBattleTendency Battle Tendency]]'', Joseph would correctly predict his opponent's next line, usually to show that he's gotten the upper hand. This was always done with him saying "Your next line will be [insert opponent's next line]!". This ends up becoming an AbandonedCatchphrase in ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders Stardust Crusaders]]'', though it does make a brief return at the end of his fight against Empress.
*** "What did you say? Depending on your answer, I may have to kick your ass!" is a unique, single-chapter variation of this, through admittedly a very memorable one.
*** Throughout ''Stardust Crusaders'', whenever he's shocked or things go wrong, Joseph will respond, in ''very'' GratuitousEnglish, with one of four phrases, "[[BigNo OH NO!]]", "[[BigOMG OH MY GOD!]]", "HOLY SHIT!", and "SON OF A BITCH!".
** Jotaro Kujo tends to say "Yare yare daze" whenever he's annoyed. The phrase has no real literal translation, but is often translated as "Good grief", "Well, well, well", or "Give me a break".
** Alessi from ''Stardust Crusaders'' has tendency to say "Such a good boy!", usually in reference to himself (which would be a lie) or his victims.
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable Diamond Is Unbreakable]]'':
*** Josuke Higashikata tends to say "Great" whenever things begin to go his way. Like [[LikeFatherLikeSon his father, Joseph]], he always says it in GratuitousEnglish.
*** Angelo seems to enjoy telling his opponents to not get cocky.
*** Sheer Heart Attack, Yoshikage Kira's Sub-[[FightingSpirit Stand]], has a tendency to say "Look over here" to its targets.
** ''Manga/GoldenWind'':
*** "I, Giorno Giovanna, have a dream." (The dream being to reform the Mafia to more of a NobleDemon)
*** Melone tends to say [[GratuitousItalian "Di molto!"]] a lot. The phrase translates to "Of very" in English, and even in Italian the phrase can basically be considered gibberish. As a result, some fan-translations of the manga instead use the phrase "Molto bene!", meaning "Very good!".
*** Cioccolata tends to continuously say the word "good", usually in response to whenever [[HumanPet Secco]] does something that pleases him.
** Jolyne Cujoh from ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStoneOcean Stone Ocean]]'' often says "Yare yare dawa", the feminine equivalent [[LikeFatherLikeSon to her father's "Yare yare daze".]]
** Funny Valentine from ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureSteelBallRun Steel Ball Run]]'' tends to say the word "Dojya~~~n!", which can be translated to English as "Ta-da!" or "Presto!".
** Josuke Higashikata from ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureJoJolion JoJolion]]'' has "I'm going to say it again... amply" as a catchphrase.
* ''Manga/{{Kaiji}}'': "Zawa zawa...zawa zawa..."
* ''Manga/{{Kakegurui}}'': "Kakegurui mashou~!" ("Let's go gambling mad!") Yumeko gleefully exclaims this before or during every one one of her gambles.
* ''Anime/KaleidoStar'': Was there an episode in which Sora didn't say, "Sugoi" ("Amazing" in English)? If there was, the episode titles, which ''always'' contained the word, made up for it.
* ''Anime/{{Kamichu}}'': Mitsue often laments: [[NothingExcitingEverHappensHere "Nothing interesting ever happens to me."]] Having a Shinto god for a friend and being possessed by the local godhood at regular intervals is obviously nothing to get excited about in the universe in which the story is set.
** Don't forget she complains immediately after that she wishes she could get a boyfriend. It's clear what her idea of 'interesting' is.
* Plenty in ''VisualNovel/{{Kanon}}''.
** Ayu: "Uguu~!"
** Nayuki: "You liar.", "Nyuu...", "Fight-o dayo"
** Makoto: "Auu!"
** Shiori: "I don't like people who say such things."
** Mai would have one to round out the harem, [[EmotionlessGirl but...]]
*** So, her best friend Sayuri takes up CatchPhrase duty instead: "A ha ha"
* ''Literature/{{Katanagatari}}'': At one point, Togame tells Shichika that if he is to be taken seriously as a swordsman he must have the equivalent of a catchphrase, Shichika picks the last one she suggests because he doesn't really care, his catchphrase is now "However by that point you might be torn to pieces."
** Togame herself had "Cheerio!"
* ''Anime/KiddyGrade'': Lumiere has "A lady should be more elegant", and several permutations thereof.
** There's also "Ta-daaa!", courtesy of Éclair.
* ''Manga/TheKindaichiCaseFiles'': "In the name of my grandfather..." (Kindaichi declaring his intent to solve the case) and "The mystery is solved!" (when Kindaichi makes that EurekaMoment connecting all of the clues together).
* In ''Anime/KillLaKill'', there is Tsumugu's "Lemme tell ya two useful pieces of information..." ("There are two things you need to know" in the dub.)
** Kiryuin Ragyo: "La vie est drole."
* In ''Manga/KillingBites'' the female main character Hitomi (a human/honey badger hybrid) says "The one with the sharpest fangs wins. That's what Killing Bites is" about once every episode.
* ''Anime/KirbyRightBackAtYa'': Kirby himself has the word "Poyo" as his catch phrase.
** Also, King Dedede's famous catchphrase? "[[ThisIsUnforgivable UNFORGIVABLE!]]"
* ''Manga/KoiKoi7'': Otome utters "incomprehensible" several times an episode. You can't really blame her.
* ''Manga/KomiCantCommunicate'': Baba Kingyo has "Daz right!!"
* ''Literature/LostUniverse'': Millie has "I'm the best ___ in the universe" and variations of.
* ''Anime/LuckyStar'': Konata Izumi often remarks that she/they "triggered a flag" or some variation thereof. She also keeps talking about "event costumes" or saying "It's an event."
* ''Franchise/LupinIII'':
** ''Anime/LupinIIIPartII'': Inspector Zenigata, in the English dub, had a tendency to yell "Crap, crap, crap, crap!".
** Lupin's most common farewell...a sarcastic "Catch ya LAY-ter!"
** Not to forget Zenigata's other, more universal, catchphrase: "Lupin, you're under arrest!" (even if he's arresting someone else) and "took ya long enough" when Lupin figures out the Inspector's plan for foiling his caper.
** When the moment start to appear threatening, typically Jigen cracks "I've got a bad feeling about this"
** And there's also Goemon's "Once again, I have cut a worthless object."
* ''Toys/MachineRobo: Revenge of The Chronos'' After hearing his long dramatic speeches, when the villain asks his name, Rom Stoll usually exclaims his catch phrase: ''"You don't deserve to know my name!"''
** And before starting the long dramatic speeches, he'd demand the villain to stop whatever they're doing by yelling ''"WAIT!"'' (''"MATTE!"'')
* ''Anime/{{Macross}}'':
** ''Anime/Macross7'''s [[HotBlooded Basara]] would like you and that mountain to "LISTEN TO MY SONG!"
** And Sheryl Nome from ''Anime/MacrossFrontier'' quickly took this for her own. Understandable, since ''Fire Bomber'' is considered "retro" in the year ''Macross Frontier'' takes place.
*** Ranka has "Everyone! Hold tight to the ends of the galaxy!" Brera uses a variation as a PreMortemOneLiner in the movie: "Be scattered to the ends of the galaxy!"
*** Sheryl also has her own catchphrase. Though she often varies the exact wording, the jist of it is always the same. ''[[HeroicWillpower "Because I'm Sheryl. Sheryl Nome!]]''"
* ''Franchise/MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha'''s CatchPhrase was originally intended to be her incantation, [[GratuitousEnglish "Lyrical Magical",]] but that tapered off and was replaced with something that fits the {{beam spam}}ming White Devil a lot more: "Zenryoku Zenkai!" ("Full Power! Full Throttle!")
** Which quickly [[MemeticMutation mutated]] into "Zenryoku Zen''kai''!" ("Full Power! ''Destroy'' Everything!")
** Nanoha's [[EmpathicWeapon Raising Heart]] also has its own English CatchPhrase: "Standby, ready."
** Fate's [[EmpathicWeapon Bardiche]] uses "Get set" as its catchphrase.
* ''Manga/{{Mahoromatic}}'': "Ecchi na no wa ikenai to omoimasu!" ("I think dirty thoughts are bad!")
** Here's a fun drinking game, take a shot every time Minawa says "I'm sorry". Chances are you won't make it past her second episode.
* ''VisualNovel/MajikoiLoveMeSeriously'': Miyako's "...Shoumonai", roughly "There's no helping it." She gets rather happy when she hears Yamato use it.
* ''Majime Girl to Seishun Lingerie'' has Sorara say "That is a naive idea!" whenever someone expresses a misconception about lingerie.
* ''Manga/MajinTanteiNougamiNeuro'' has Neuro saying "This mystery is already on the tip of my tongue" {{once an episode}}.
* ''Literature/MariaWatchesOverUs'': The characters have ''"Gokigenyou!"''[[note]]A formal greeting used by the students of Lillian[[/note]], which has become MemeticMutation in and of itself, as well as ''"Onee-Sama"''. Curious enough, they say it a lot in the doujin FightingGame ''[[VideoGame/{{Maribato}} Maribato!]]''
* ''Anime/MartianSuccessorNadesico'': [[LittleMissSnarker Ruri]] has "''Baka bakka''" - roughly, "I'm {{surrounded by idiots}}," translated simply as "Fools" in the subtitles, and funny every time. This just makes it all the more surprising when it actually gets a genuinely dramatic use midway through the series.
** Akito's "I'm a ''cook'' dammit!'' also qualifies.
* ''Manga/MermaidMelodyPichiPichiPitch'': Sister Mimi likes to say "Hontou da yo ne?" ("That's true, isn't it?") after Sister Sheshe makes any statement.
** [[GratuitousEnglish "Love shower, pitch!",]] anyone?
* ''Manga/MinamiKe'': Chiaki Minami has a catch ''insult'': "bakayarou" (it's a variant of "baka" and means the same thing, namely "idiot"). Her sister [[{{Jerkass}} Kana]] is the most frequent target, but Chiaki's been known to direct it at everything from classmates to inanimate objects.
** Haruka also tends to find things "fine every once in a while."
* ''Moetan'': "Don't mind the minor details" returns all throughout, delivered by several characters.
** The maid Ruriko did a nice little ShoutOut to ''VisualNovel/{{Kanon}}'' when she listed all their catch phrases as things she didn't want to hear Sumi say.
* ''Anime/MonColleKnights'': "With us, you can do it!"
* ''Manga/MonsterMusume'': In the English manga, Papi has "no pro" (short for "no problem"), while Rachnera has "itsy-bitsy".
* ''Manga/MyBrideIsAMermaid'': "...would tarnish the reputation of the Seto mermen!"
** Written as chivalry (nin kyo), pronounced as mermaid (nin gyo)!
** You want Mawari to teach you the rules of this trope?
* ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'':
** [[BigGood All Might's]] "I am here!/I have arrived!" while making a DynamicEntry and "Plus Ultra!" when trying [[HopeBringer to be inspiring]] [[BoisterousBruiser or when showing off.]]
** "SMAAAAAAASH!" One For All users, with All Might even including it in his instructions on how to use the power.
** [[TheRival Katsuki Bakugou]] has a habit of yelling "DIE!" at the top of his lungs.
** "POOOOWER!"- Lemillion.
* ''Anime/MyHime'': Early episodes had the resident [[NunsAreMikos church lady]] Yukariko occasionally giving sermons about "the passions of youth" whenever students were sent to the chapel after getting into trouble. Eventually, these speeches got stuck into the head of stoic [[KendoTeamCaptain kendo captain]] Masashi Takeda, much to his displeasure (since ''he'' was sent to the chapel as punishment for the PantyThief incident in episode 4).
** Also, instead of referring to the lead character by name, [[AffablyEvil aloof]] PrettyBoy Nagi uses "[[TitleDrop Mai-HiME]]" when speaking solely about her.
* ''Manga/MyLoveStory'': Gouda's habit of internally exclaiming "I LOVE HER" whenever Yamato does something even remotely cute.
* The infamous ''Anime/GovernmentCrimeInvestigationAgentZaizenJotaro'''s phrase is "DA BOMB!" Unlike others on this page, he is fond of saying it for no good reason, at inappropriate times, in non-sequitur fashion. The writers didn't intentionally make him over-the-top: they honestly thought that Americans use catchphrases for anything.
** "If my husband finds out about this affair, he'll kill you!" "DA BOMB!"
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'' has several:
** Shikamaru has "What a drag." ("Mendokuse" ("How troublesome") in the Japanese.) He can also substitute "pain" for "drag" to give it some variety. He also like to say [[StockPhrase "This is Bad"]].
** Sakura has "Shannaro!", or "Cha!" in the dub.
** Don't forget Guy and Lee's "Youthful Moments"
** Deidara's "[Oira no] Geijutsu wa bakuhatsu da!" or "[My] Art is an explosion!".
*** KATSU! ... KABLOOEY!
** The titular character alone has quite a few:
*** He had "I want to become Hokage" for most of Part I. This was [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] by Sakura, when she said, "Naruto keeps saying [[MemeticMutation Hokage, Hokage]] like an idiot."
*** Closely connected with the above is his other catchphrase, "I will make everyone recognise me" or equivalent.
*** Then there is "I will never give up," and "This is my ninja way."
*** In Part II, all the above have given way to his new catchphrase, "I will definitely bring Sasuke back."
** This is {{Defied}} by [[spoiler:the weapons of the Sage of the Six Paths, which seal your soul if you say your catchphrase]].
** Pain: "I will deliver judgement." and "Know Pain."
* ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi''. Paio II. "Boobies!"
** In the second series, Chamo's was "Animal Abuse!", in response to Asuna's [[ButtMonkey/AnimeAndManga poor treatment of him]] (and in this continuity, he does little to deserve it).
* ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'': Shinji and Asuka have catchphrases that are famous enough to be parodied in other works.
** Shinji's "I mustn't run away". In the original Japanese it's "nigechatta dame da" (more literally, "to run away is no good"). Has become a famous enough phrase to be used in a ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}: WesternAnimation/BeastWars'' kids manga (aimed several years lower than ''Eva''). It was also parodied when his English voice actor recorded an in-character [[http://shinjismind.ytmnd.com/ commentary track]] about the GainaxEnding:
--->'''"Shinji"''': Okay, okay, okay. I mustn't run away, I mustn't run? Okay I got that, good, okay. Now, if I were to run away, let's analyze that - where the fuck would I go? I'm on a big blue ball!
** Asuka initially has two: "What are you, stupid?" A pretty direct translation of "Anta baka?!" though the translation misses a bit of nuance (it's simultaneously intimate and insulting). And "This sucks!" for "Saite!" (the lowest). Later on, she exchanges the former to "URUSAI!!!" ("Shut Up") as she descends into depression.
** Maya exclaims "It's no good!" ("Dame desu!") often enough to be her catchphrase.
** [[Anime/RebuildOfEvangelion Mari]] has a habit of saying "Nyaa" (the Japanese equivalent of "meow") at totally random moments. She also appears to remark "ii nioi" ("smells good") whenever she catches the [[NightmareFetishist blood-like scent]] of LCL.
* ''Manga/NinjaNonsense'' has a couple of weird ones. Shinobu likes to say "My feelings are always swirling!", and Onsokumaru yells "GABORA" a lot, probably making an ''Series/{{Ultraman}}'' reference. The dub hilariously changes this to "Banzai!" -- which is ''still Japanese'', just less obscure.
* ''Manga/NodameCantabile''- "GYABON!" and "MUKYA!" from Megumi.
* ''Anime/OjamajoDoremi'': Doremi Harukaze says, "I'm the unluckiest pretty girl in the whole world."
** Any of the girls' [[MagicalIncantation Magical Incantations]] can qualify too since they're unique to each girl
* ''Anime/OnegaiMyMelody'': My Melody says "Onegai!" when she wants something she Melody Marked to save the day. Quite a TitleDrop, to tell the truth.
** Baku says "Zona" at the end of his sentences.
* In ''[[VisualNovel/OneKagayakuKisetsuE ONE,]]'' Mizuka Nagamori exclaims "You know" and "After all" a lot, so much that Kouhei once gave her the nickname "Nagamori of the Planet You Know After All".
* While ''Manga/OnePiece'' generally forgoes catchphrases in favor of unique types of laughter, a few gems among the cast are Sanji (Mellorine!), Franky ([[GratuitousEnglish SUPAAAAAA!]]), and Brook, who routinely makes bad jokes about his status as a skeleton.
-->'''Brook:''' I can't help but have an eye for the pretty ones!! But being a skeleton, I haven't got any ([[DontExplaintheJoke eyes that is)!! YOHOHOHOHO! Skull joke!]]
** And then there's Brook's "May I see your panties?" which he says to [[strike:nearly]] every girl he meets.
** "If you were to go on a trip, where would you like to go?" It's in your best interest [[BearsAreBadNews to start running when Kuma says that one,]] though that still might not be enough to save you.
** And of course:
--->'''Luffy:''' I'm gonna be the Pirate King!
** Luffy also has another one he loves so much he uses it in situations where it makes little to no sense and even when in (admittedly thin and already broken several times) disguise, rather than not say it at all, he just makes sure to whisper it. Ocassionally, however, it becomes a BadassBoast that gets under the skin of his enemies.
--->'''Luffy:''' Because I'm rubber.
** A rather [[CloudCuckooLander eccentric]] Skypiea arc character has one.
--->'''[[TooDumbToLive Gedatsu]]''': How/So careless!
** Kalifa of [[SecretPolice CP9]] is quick to call ''anything'' "sexual harassment", even [[ButtMonkey Spandam's existence]].
** The late Kozuki Oden had one: "This place is too cramped!"
* ''Anime/OsomatsuSan'': Starting from episode nine and onwards, Jyushimatsu will often say "Muscle muscle! Hustle hustle!"
* ''Anime/OuranHighSchoolHostClub'': Haruhi often says, "I hate these damn rich people."
* ''Anime/PaniPoniDash'': Along with {{VerbalTic}}s, has
** Rokugou: "...of the year", [[GratuitousEnglish in English,]] often used strangely. ("I'm depressed of the year.")
** Becky: "I'm a teacher! I'm a teacher, you idiots!"
** Suzune: "CHOP!"
** Yankee: "...dot com"
** And the most frequent of all, Himeko's VerbalTic: "Maho!" The second OP has the whole cast say it.
* ''Anime/{{Pecola}}'':
** Pecola has two catch-phrases, "Flappin' flippers!" and "Let's get hopping!" In the Japanese version, his catchphrase is "Oh my pudding!"
** Rudy often responds to what other people say with "That's what I was gonna say!" or some variant of it.
* ''Anime/PleaseTeacher'': Mizuho says "Saiyu sen jiko yo!" ("It's top priority!")
* ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'':
** The perennial villains, the Team Rocket trio, are a [[CatchPhraseSpoutingDuo Catch Phrase Spouting ''Trio''.]] There is is a LampshadeHanging in an early episode where Ash asks why they always insist on saying "that dumb stuff". They give no straight answer. There most famous, besides their motto, is "We're blasting off again!" ("Yana kanji!" in Japanese). In later Japanese episodes, they started saying "Ii kanji!".
** In one episode, the heroes dress up as the trio and go through the motto sequence, then conclude that they most likely do it for fun.
--->'''Misty:''' That was great to do the whole thing!\
'''Ash:''' Now I know why they like saying that dumb stuff so much, it's fun!
** Whenever Ash catches a Pokémon he'll always say "Yeah! I caught _______!" ("_______, getto da ze!" in the Japanese version). Pikachu always follows suit with a "Pi-Pikachu!", which is lampshaded on Starly's capture as it isn't there. Misty is the first one other than Ash to go through the routine when she catches her Horsea, and Ash complains about her copying his pose. In the Orange Islands, Ash gave Tracey lessons on how to do it after Tracey caught Scyther.
%%** In "Diamond & Pearl," Ash would say "it's Paul" when he encounters his rival.
** Dawn frequently says "Daijoubu!" ("No need to worry!" in the dub). Half the time, this is played for irony--her mom has said that it's usually when she worries the most.
** At the end of the next episode previews, the character doing it says "Minna no Pokémon, getto da ze!" or a slight variation. Even Pikachu has gotten in on the act.
** In the Japanese version there's also May's "Kamo", which is a hint of her nervousness and inexperience as a coordinator.
** Meowth uses "nya" at the end of his sentences in Japanese. The literal equivalent being "meow", the dub toyed with this in a few early episodes but ultimately abandoned it.
** Kotone (Lyra), the female playable character from [=HeartGold/SoulSilver=], has a speech quirk in the Japanese version of the anime in which she frequently asks rhetorical questions that end in "kotto ne?" meaning "right?" which is a pun on her name.
** Ash shouts "________, I CHOOSE YOU!" before he sends out a Pokemon.
*** As the anime has progressed, almost everyone has now done their own. Dawn would shout "Spotlight!" ("Charm up!" in Japanese), Paul would say "Stand by for battle!" ("Batoru standbai!"), and May would say "Take the stage!" ("Stage on!")
** Even some of the attacks seem to turn into catch phrases. "<Grass Pokémon goes here>, use your Vine Whip!" Not to mention the infamous "Thunderbolt!" "Thunderbolt" is interesting, as the consistent use of it as a generic electrical attack makes the occasional uses of "Thundershock" (weaker in the games) and "Thunder" (stronger) stick out for the viewer.
** One of the Pokemon contest judges, Mr. Sukizo, has a catchphrase that is "truly...remarkable!"
** In the English dub, Paul's "Pathetic!"
** Cilan's "It's tasting time!"
** Iris's regular comment to Ash in the Japanese dub. "You are such a child", translated as "You're just a kid" in the English dub.
** Serena's "Ta-da!"
** Clemont's "The future is now, thanks to science!"
*** This leads to Ash getting an ''XY''-exclusive follow-up: "Wow, science is so amazing!"
** Bonnie's "Wow, you're a keeper! Please take care of my brother!" whenever she meets an attractive older girl. Followed up by Clemont's embarrassed "Bonnie, I've told you a million times not to do this!"
** Also throughout ''XY'', multiple characters who Mega-Evolve their Pokémon (especially Alain) will announce "Beyond Evolution! Mega Evolve!"
* ''Manga/ThePrinceOfTennis'':
** Echizen Ryoma: "Mada mada da ne" ("You still have lots more to work on")
** Kawamura Takashi: '''[[HotBlooded "BUUUUURRRRNNNNIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG!"]]'''
** Shishido Ryoh: "Gekidasa daze" (translated as "Super lame")
** Sengoku Kiyosumi: "Lucky!"
** Atobe Keigo: "Ore-sama no bigi ni yoi na!" (More or less "Be awed by my prowess")
** Shiraishi Kuranosuke: "Ecstasy!" (pronounced "ekusutashiii", which is frankly part of its charm)
** Kabaji Munehiro: "Usu" (in response to whatever Atobe says)
** Sanada Genichirou: "Tarundoru"
** Tezuka Kunimitsu: "Yuudan sezu ni ikou." or "Don't let your guard down."
** Momoshiro Takeshi: '''"DON..."''' (The onomotopoeia for a large impact, which he uses when he lands after a Dunk Smash)
** Kamio Akira: "Rizumu ainori ze!" or "I'm riding the rhythm!"
** Kikumaru Eiji: "Zannen munen mata raishuu" translates to "Too bad, no regrets, see you next week." and "Hoi Hoi" whatever that means
** FUSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHUUUUUUUUUU
** Kirihara Akaya: I'll crush you
** Nio Masaharu: Puri..
** Inui Saddaharu: Illogical...
** Mukahi Gakuto: Motto Tonde Miso (try to jump more) and Uwe ni a uwe ga iru (There's always someone better than you)
** Hiyoshi Wakashi: Gekokujou (the lower rank takes the place of the higher)
** Horio: ...two years of tennis experience
* ''Anime/PrincessTutu'' LOVES these...
** Autor: "Would you please be quiet?!" (Later parodied by having Fakir say this to Autor.)
** Fakir: "Baka!" (Translated as "Moron" or "Idiot", depending on the translation/fan.)
** Lilie: "Uso!" ("No way!" in the ADV dub, could also mean "You're lying!")
** Ahiru/Duck: "Quack!"
** Princess Tutu: "Please dance with me, [name]" while using the ballet mime of the same meaning. Also has "I am Princess Tutu! I dance to guide your heart!" in the manga.
** Edel: "May those who follow fate be granted happiness. [[ScrewDestiny May those who defy it be granted glory]]."
** Uzura: "Lovey-dovey." Also finishes most of her sentences with "-zura".
** Mytho: "I don't know" and "not really" in the first season. [[spoiler:"You'll give me your beautiful heart, won't you?" and "Love me and hate everyone else!"]] in the second.
** Professor Cat: "You have to __________, or I WILL HAVE YOU MARRY MEEEEE!"
** Drosselmeyer: "All those who love stories come, gather 'round!"
** [[OneSceneWonder Femio:]] "Oh, heaven! Please pour judgement upon...THIS SINNER!"
* ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'':
** Kyuubey: "Make a contract with me!"
** Homura Akemi: "That won't be necessary."
* ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'': Kasumi Tendo's catchphrase "Oh my" ("ara" in the original) became permanently enshrined in the English-speaking fandom (just try to find a Ranma FanFic,any Ranma FanFic, without it) but her little sister Akane's equally characteristic "honestly" ("mou") did not. Akane's habitual "Ranma no baka" could be considered a catchphrase in the original though it's variously translated as "Ranma you idiot" or "Ranma you jerk" in the dub.
** Similarly, Ryoga's "Ranma, prepare to die!" (spoken only two or three times in the whole anime, possibly only once in the manga- and the first instance was his initial surprise attack against Ranma) and also "Because of you, Ranma/Saotome, I've seen hell!", which (again) only happened once or twice in the canon.
** There's also a few phrases that get tossed around very frequently during battles. Most notable are "An opening!" and "The final blow!" This is done by quite a few characters (read: almost every single fighter).
** Ranma also uses the word "kawaikunee" against Akane a lot, which translate to "you're so uncute." In fact, Akane's "Ranma no baka" and Ranma's "kawaikunee" is the whole basis and the title of their image songs.
* ''Manga/Reborn2004'' has Gokudera's "Jyuudaime!" (meaning the Tenth, referring to Tsuna), Reborn's "Ciaossu", Tsuna's "______ with my dying will!", Ryohei's "KYOKUGEN!" or "______ TO THE EXTREME!", Hibari's "I'll bite you to death", Squalo's "[[BattleCry VOOOIIII!]]" - to name a few.
** Don't forget Colonello, KORA!!
** Kikyo has a tendency to say "Ho ho" in the anime.
** And Xanxus's "Trash" Or "Scum".
** There's also Haru's "hahi!" and Bel's "because I'm the prince".
* ''Literature/RebuildWorld'': Akira and his VirtualSidekick Alpha have a two-person catch phrase. Akira’s SurvivalMantra of "[[ThisIsGonnaSuck Resolve is my responsibility]]", to which Alpha says "Leave the rest to me!". She also says "Leave it to me!" plenty of other times.
* ''Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena''
** Extra! Extra! Extra!
** If it cannot break out of its shell, the chick will die without ever being born. We are the chick, the world is our egg. if we don't crack the world's shell, we will die without ever truly being born. Smash the world's shell. FOR THE REVOLUTION OF THE WORLD!
* In ''Manga/TheRedRangerBecomesAnAdventurerInAnotherWorld'', Red is a {{Toku}} hero whose powers literally run on ThePowerOfFriendship. He is prone to inserting the words "bond" and "friendship" into the conversation whenever possible even when it makes barely any sense. He also ends fights with "Our bonds have prevailed!"
* ''Manga/RosarioPlusVampire'': ([[SuperpoweredEvilSide Evil]]) Moka seems to like shouting out "Know your place!" before kicking an enemy half to death. Incidentally, the other characters steal this line as a form of parody.
** Kapuchuu~
** Ling-Ling has "Because I am already dead!"
*** Played for comedy, no less.
* ''Manga/RozenMaiden'', Suiseiseki, '''[+DESU+]'''.
** Her ''Manga/ShugoChara'' {{Expy}} by the same mangaka, Suu, does have the same tic, along with "Leave it to Suu!" Additionally, every Shugo Chara got a "magical" catchphrase: "Hop, Step, Jump!" for Ran, "Drew, Draw, Drawn!" for Miki, and "Chips, Syrup, Whipcream!" for Suu. Amu herself also has a catchphrase: "That's not my character!"
** [[LargeHam "Who do you think I am? I'm Saeki Nobuko!"]]
* ''Manga/RurouniKenshin'': Kenshin Himura consistently says "de gozaru" (an archaic sentence ender in Japanese, loosely translated as "that it is") and also has a tendency to say "oro?" in the same fashion as one would say "huh?" in English.
** Not to mention the fact that he (nearly) always refers to himself as "this one" instead of "me" or "I."
** Only in Viz' translation of the manga. In the English dub of the anime, while Kenshin does refer to himself in the first person, he tends to add "That I am" or "That I do".
*** The Japanese version of that is "[[UsefulNotes/JapanesePronouns sessha]]". When in [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Battousai mode]], he uses "ore" instead.
** Hajime Saitou tends to repeat a lot the series' made-up UsefulNotes/{{Shinsengumi}} motto, "Aku. Soku. Zan." ("Slay evil immediately").
* ''Franchise/SailorMoon'' has a few. When Sailor Moon does her little dance, she punctuates it with either "{{In the name of the moon}}, I will punish you!" (always in the Japanese version) or "I will right wrongs and triumph over evil, and that means you!" The other Soldiers had their own catchphrases, albeit not quite as, ahem, catchy. Another phrase from Sailor Moon was used for the next episode previews -- ''Tsuki no hikari wa ai no MESSAGE'', or "The moonlight is the message of love" (these segments were cut out of the 2000's American DVD releases, but you can see them in ''Sailor Stars'' which never got licensed and was only available in fan translations).
* In ''Manga/SakigakeOtokojuku'' (''Charge! Men's Cram School''), the extremely badass principal of the aforementioned school had a habit of yelling "WASHI GA OTOKOJUKU JUKUCHOU, EDAJIMA HEIHACHI [[VerbalTic DE ARRRRRUU]]!("I AM THE PRINCIPAL OF OTOKOJUKU, EDAJIMA HEIHACHI!") at just about any given opportunity. One particular episode shows him making a morning announcement to his students that consists of this CatchPhrase, followed by "That is all".
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0eh5v5Glio Here]] is a video showcasing this CatchPhrase in action. Multiple times. With increasing levels of badassery.
* ''Manga/SayonaraZetsubouSensei'': "I'm in despair! The overuse of {{Catch Phrase}}s in our modern society has left me in despair!"
** "[[InterruptedSuicide What if I had died?!]]"
** "[[FrivolousLawsuit I'll sue!]]"
** "[[ControlFreak That annoys me.]]"
** "[[{{Hikikomori}} Don't open it.]]"
** "[[IJustWantToBeSpecial Don't say normal!]]"
** "[[ThePollyanna There's no way catch phrases, something I've only heard in anime, could actually be spoken by people I know!]] [[LoveFreak This must be 'The Whisper of Our Souls'!]]"
** "[[StalkerWithACrush You were here?" "The whole time.]]"
* ''Manga/SchoolRumble'' Tenma's "Doowah!".
* ''Literature/ShakuganNoShana'': Thanks to Creator/RieKugimiya, "Urusai, urusai, urusai!" can now be seen and heard in identical fashions in ''Literature/TheFamiliarOfZero'', ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler'', and ''Literature/{{Toradora}}''.
** And now ''Literature/AriaTheScarletAmmo''.
* ''Manga/SquidGirl'': [[{{Pun}} ~de geso]] or ~jana'ika!
* ''Manga/{{Sketchbook}}'' Sora often utters "uh huh" as an affirmation, always in exactly the same tone. Although it is technically perhaps not a real phrase, it does underline her shy and quiet character very well.
* In ''Manga/SlamDunk'', there are some as well
** Rukawa's "Do'ahou" or "You moron"
*** Then again, whenever he comments on someone's actions, most of the time it's 'stupid' or some variation thereof.
** Sakuragi's "Temee kitsune!" or "Shut up, fox face!"
*** Also his "Ore wa tensai!" or "I'm a genius!"
** Akagi's "You idiots" for when Rukawa and Sakuragi get into a fight.
** Kogure's "Yare yare" for when they get into a fight.
** The Rukawa Shinitai's "Rukawa, Rukawa, L O V E Rukawa!"
** Hikoichi Aida has a tendency to shout "Unbelievable!" in GratuitousEnglish whenever something exciting happens.
* ''Literature/{{Slayers}}'':
** Xellos Metallum has his catch phrase, "''Sore wa himitsu desu''" ("That... is a secret"), with which he tends to answer most important question asked of him, and several unimportant ones. He takes a great deal of glee in driving those around him to frothing rage with the frustration this causes.
** Lina Inverse has her own, "''Ichika pachika!''" ("Do, or die!"). The Dragon Slave spell can also be considered as her catchphrase.
* ''Manga/SoulEater'':
** Black*Star has his "YA-HOO!" whenever he's about to do anything.
** Maka often says, "I'll take your soul!" or something similar. There's also '''"MAKA CHOP!!"'''
** Crona's "I don't know how to deal with _____" and "My blood is black".
** Stein's "I'll dissect you."
** Eruka's "Gekko"
** Sid's "That's the kind of man I was". The list goes on....
** Excalibur!
*** BAKA!/FOOL! (Insert non-sequitor)
*** [[MemeticMutation THIS TROPE BEGAN IN THE 12TH CENTURY!!]]
** Soul's "cool" or "not cool"
** Kid's "It disgusts me" or "SYMMETRY!" "kicchiri kacchiri"
** Spirit: "MAKAAAA!"
** Free: "I'm immortal!"
** [[LargeHam Black Star]] again: "I AM THE MAN WHO WILL SURPASS GOD!"
* ''Anime/SpacePatrolLuluco'': Midori loves to say "Little shit!".
* In ''Anime/SpeedGrapher'', Ginza's favorite choice of words while laying down a smackdown are, "Self Defense!" or "I can self defense you too!"
* ''Anime/SpiderRiders'' has the infamous "Never Give Up!" line in the original and dub. The backup catchphrase in the Japanese version, "It's Alright" was turned to the slightly cheesier "Arachna Power" in the dub.
* ''Manga/StarStrikeItRich'': Before all of her fight, Hina says "Time for a revolution". She also likes to call weaker fighters "slowpoke".
* ''Anime/SteelAngelKurumi'': Kurumi's exclamation "Kyuuuin!" in the original Japanese dialogue is a meaningless sound that sits squarely on the line between {{Catch Phrase}}s and {{Verbal Tic}}s.
* ''VisualNovel/SteinsGate'':
** Mayuri's greeting, "Tuturu~"
** Okabe has several,
*** "El Psy Congro", Everytime he finish a fictional phone call.
*** "It's all the will of Steins Gate" and their variations.
*** "The Organization have [...]"
*** "I am MadScientist."
** Feyris Nyan Nyan always end her sentence with a meow/nya
* ''Anime/SuperAtragon'': With NoIndoorVoice, Captain Hayate loves to yell, "Undersea-battleship Ra, ENGAGE!"
* ''Literature/HaruhiSuzumiya'':
** Mikuru loves saying ''"That's [[ClassifiedInformation classified (information)]]"''.
*** The novels imply that she posseses a mental block that prevents her from revealing sensitive information, replacing whatever it was she was trying to say with "Classified Information." When this mindblock is briefly disabled in Book Seven, she expresses surprise that she is capable of speaking freely.
*** It's made more obvious in the anime's second season: "I tried to use ''classified information'' to ''classified information'', but all I got was ''classified information''..." However, when Kyon asks her for her age, she replies "Classified Information" with a mischievous smile on her face. Whether that bit of information was truly "classified" is left to the watcher.
** Kyon himself has one: "Yare yare" (Oh boy). And, of course, some people like to classify Yuki's "sou" (yes) as a catch phrase.
* ''Anime/{{Tamagotchi}}!'':
** Mametchi has a tendency to say "Huh?" a ''lot''. Sometimes, he says "Hmm?" instead.
*** While not a phrase, he even has a medium amount of moaning within some phrases.
** Kuchipatchi's "Yah-tchi!" or "Da-tchi!". Not to mention that "Da-tchi" is his Japanese and ''Friends'' VerbalTic.
** There's also Himespetchi's catchphrase, "Gigakyun!", which she uses whenever she's daydreaming about her LoveInterest, Mametchi. She also has "Gigashyun", which is her expression of sadness.
** In a similar vein to Himespetchi's catchphrase, Neenetchi says "Neenekyun!" whenever she swoons over Kuromametchi.
* ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann'':
** "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM/WE ARE?!" The original Japanese phrase means the same thing, though it's still more disrespectful than in English.
** Parodied once as Kamina's [[CallingYourAttacks called attack]]: "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM KICK!"
** Variants on this phrase crop up throughout the series, as when Viral asks Lordgenome, "Who ''are'' these people, anyway?", or when Nia asks one of the [[QuirkyMinibossSquad Four Generals]] "Are you aware of who I am?!"
** Simon lampshades it in the final battle of TheMovie: "I'll say it as many times as I have to! [cue catch phrase yelled by the entire BadassCrew]"
** "BELIEVE IN ME! WHO BELIEVES IN YOU!" "Believe in you, who believes in yourself."
** Whatever Kamina's third catchphrase is has been translated ''so'' many different ways. The fan translation you'll see around here most (because it's a TropeNamer) is "Go BeyondTheImpossible and kick reason to the curb!". An online sub of the first DVD by Creator/ADVFilms (who would later lose the license) hilarious changed it to "We stick to our crazy guns and kick logic out the door!" (especially funny since it was shown that Kamina ''didn't know what a gun was''). The dub that came out has "Kick logic out, and do the impossible!" and the subs for the [=DVDs=] that ''did'' come out have "Reject common sense to make the impossible possible!"
** "Your/My drill is the one that will pierce the heavens!" [[spoiler: Ultimately upgraded in the climax of the series to "My drill is the drill that '''creates''' the heavens!"]]
*** In the second movie: "Ore no... doriru wa... ORE NO... '''TAMASHĪ DAAAAAAAA!'''" Simon whispers this line in the series, just after [[spoiler:Kamina appears to him one last time prior to the final battle]].
** "That's the way Team Dai-Gurren rolls."
*** In Japanese, literally: "(Statement of a course of action or attitude, usually the "Go beyond the impossible" line above, but also things like "We'll pierce through anything in our way")! That's our (Dai) Gurren-dan!" The official translation (above) captures the meaning pretty well.
* In ''Manga/TensaiBakabon'', [=LeLeLe=] no Ojisan has the cheerful catchphrase, "Odekake desu ka? (Are you going out?) [=LeLeLe=] no Le!"
* ''Anime/TigerAndBunny:'' supporting Hero Sky High has "Thanks, and thanks again!" Even [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] for its dorkiness.
* ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero'' "Gozaru" (Japanese for "dare say" according to the translation) is [[spoiler: the catchphrase that Queen Mirellia's personal Shadow says to Naofumi everytime both in and out of her Shadow uniform to indicate who she is to him.]]
* ''Manga/TokyoMewMew:''
** In the American dub, whenever they change into their half animal forms, they say "Mew mew style, Mew mew grace, Mew Mew power in your face".
** In the original, Ichigo says, "For the future of the world, I am at your service nya!"
* In ''Manga/TokyoShinobiSquad'', Jin has a habit of saying "I can't stand it!" when he sees injustice. He says it so often that it's lampshaded by others and his opponents often guess when he's going to say it.
* ''Manga/{{Trigun}}'': Vash the Stampede has "This land is made of LOVE AND PEACE!"
* In ''Anime/UmiMonogatari'', Marin says "I love you!" to everyone she meets.
* ''VisualNovel/UminekoWhenTheyCry'': Battler and Ange share "It's useless. It's all useless!". Eva-Beatrice says variations on "Why don't you just roll over and die!". Gaap also has one, but it [[CompressedAdaptation only appears in the original visual novel]]. "But only if he's hot!" In addition, Maria has a few different distinctive {{Verbal Tic}}s that would count if they weren't covered by another trope.
** Doesn't Maria have "Exi-sts! Beatrice exists!" as well? She says it a lot...
** "It's useless. It's all useless!" Seems to be a CatchPhrase among the Ushiromiya family as a whole. Kinzo and Jessica say it a few times, among others.
* ''Manga/UruseiYatsura'' has quite a few of these, but ''the'' most famous has to be Lum's "Darling, you IDIOT!" Then the hurting starts...
* ''Manga/WakakoZake'': Wakako's trademark OncePerEpisode CatchPhrase is her satisfied sigh, "pshewwww~", after eating a particularly satisfying morsel of food.
* ''Anime/WeissKreuz'': Persia ends every mission briefing with, "White hunters of the night, deny these dark beasts their tomorrows."
** Although Western audiences see less of her since she's mostly AllThereInTheManual, Crashers' [[TheHandler handler]] Queen has one of her own: "Crashers is always awaiting your orders. [[ChessMotifs Checkmate]]."
* ''Manga/TheWayOfTheHouseHusband'': Tatsu treats his chores as a HouseHusband with the same dedication and importance as his duties as a former {{Yakuza}}. As he puts it, [[SeriousBusiness "Being a house husband ain't no joke."]]
* ''Manga/TheWorldGodOnlyKnows'': Keima Katsuragi has "I can already see the ending!" or some variation thereof when he figures out the last push needed to capture a girl. His saying this means that whatever arc the story is currently in is nearly finished.
* ''Manga/{{Worst}}'': Hana Tsukishima is undefeated in fights where he offers his trademark "No hard feelings" beforehand.
* ''Manga/YakitateJapan'': Kawachi's "Nanyate!" and the managers "Nandato!"
* In ''Manga/YamadaKunAndTheSevenWitches'':
** Yamada's catch-phrases are "kiss me" and sometimes the longer "I want you to kiss me". ItMakesSenseInContext given that the series' premise is about using magical powers via kisses.
** Similarly to Yamada, Shiraishi says "kiss me" and "can we kiss?" a lot.
** In her introduction arc, Noa constantly says "annoying and gross", mostly referring to Yamada. It becomes an AbandonedCatchphrase once she fells in love with him and not at all considers him annoying and gross anymore.
* ''Anime/YuGiOh'' had some catchphrases of its own, most notably the dub's "Not so fast, Kaiba!" and the original's "Ore no TURN!" (It's my turn!) Yami also says occasionally "It's time to duel!" in the dub, before duels (though this is more often remembered for its use in the opening).
-->"It's time to d-d-d-d-d-d-d-duel!"
** And the spinoff ''Anime/YuGiOhGX'' had even more catchphrases, mostly coming out of the mouth of the hero, Jaden. "Get your game on!", "I'll throw down a facedown" and "That's game" are the ones he's known for in the dub, while in the original he says "Gotcha! That was a fun duel".
*** The use of catchphrases is actually lampshaded in one English dubbed episode:
---->'''Syrus:''' Aw, man!\
'''Bastion:''' Great Scott!\
'''Hassleberry:''' Sam Hill!\
'''Alexis:''' Why don't ''I'' have a catchphrase?
** "That's game" is actually relatively widespread in RealLife card game communities, but is usually delivered by the losing player to indicate a concession.
** Cronos and Napoleon have their own {{Verbal Tic}}s in the Japanese version, "na no ne? (is it not so?)" and "de aru (isn't it)" respectively.
*** Don't forget Jun Manjoume's "Ichi, juu, hyaku, sen, Manjoume Thunder!", a complicated Japanese pun that somewhat understandably was dumbed down to "Chazz it up" in the dub (it still sucks, though).
*** The actual joke, for those curious: The "Man" in Manjoume is how they say 'Ten Thousand' in Japan. The lead up phrases are actually numbers, so that, translated, it would read "One! Ten! Hundred! Thousand! Manjoume Thunder!"
** The dub for ''Anime/YuGiOh5Ds'' is attempting to give Yusei the CatchPhrase "Let's rev it up"; time will tell if it catches on.
*** The original's catchphrase is a phrase shouted at the beginning of every duel involving motorcycles. "Riding Duel, Acceleration!" This is also generally used in previews to mark when a specific episode will be badass. Most often shouted by Yuusei, the series' protagonist.
*** The MC also has one; [[GratuitousEnglish EVERYBODY LISTEN!!!]]
*** Pretty much ''every'' time a monster in Synchro Summoned, the duelist is guaranteed to recite a two or three line catchphrase as they appear. The catchphrase is subtly different for each of them if the player uses more than one trademark Synchro, but they all sound the same after a while.
---->'''Yusei:''' Now from two/three will come one, and from one will come great cosmic might! I Synchro-Summon Stardust Dragon!
** ''Anime/YuGiOhZEXAL'': "I'm feeling the flow!". In Japanese, "Kattobingu daze, ore!" ("Kattobingu" is actually a made-up word. Yuma uses it as a way to express self-confidence - sort of.)
*** Don't forget various forms of "I'm gonna hi-five the sky!"
*** Kaito's "Are you ready to repent?"
** ''Anime/YuGiOhArcV'': Yuya has "[[IncomingHam LADIIIIES AND GENTLEMENNNN]]" and "The fun's just getting started!"
*** Kaito brings back his catchphrase for Arc-V as well.
* ''Manga/ZatchBell'': Zatch Bell says "Unu" frequently (usually meaning "Yes!") and often ends sentences with "na(ru) no da" (isn't that so?); in the dub, Zatch has a signature laugh ("Hahaha HA, haha") that becomes his catchphrase.
** There's also [[EnsembleDarkhorse Victoream's]] "Very!"
** And let's not forget Kafka Sunbeam's "Groovy!"
* ''Anime/ZoidsNewCentury'':
** "My name is Harry Champ! I'm a man destined to be king!"
** Don't forget Dark Judge's: "This battle has been taken over by the Backdraft Group!"
* ''Anime/ZombielandSaga'': [[LargeHam Kotaro]]'s "[[GratuitousEnglish MUSIC, COME ON!]]" at the start of the girls' concerts. Once [[BorrowedCatchphrase borrowed]] by an old man when the girls were performing a dance popular with seniors.
