* ''Anime/SailorMoon'' has several songs for major battles that get you pumped up, including "[[https://youtu.be/enUA1U8wuLE Ai no Senshi]]" (the senshi vs the black moon sisters), "[[https://youtu.be/Uc6E9nysszo Moon Revenge]]" (the R movie finale), and "[[https://youtu.be/64CNBFIZqYc La Soldier]]" (the battle against Wiseman). Also, while the dub [[{{Macekre}} is what it is]] it gave us "[[https://youtu.be/hFydTKECYtE Carry On]]" for the final battle of the first season. "La Soldier" and "Moon Revenge" come from the ''Theatre/SeraMyu''s, which are just chock full of all the awesome music. Some of the best music you can find in ''Sailor Moon'' was never in the anime.
%%* "[[https://youtu.be/1EFNWjdZNbU Sailor Star Song]]", the [[ShapedLikeItself Sailor Stars OP]].
* [[https://youtu.be/3bBpiHJm3t0 Moonlight Densetsu]] is tops. Especially the last time it plays. It completes the entire series. [[https://youtu.be/OHs6aDhaxk8 And the locket version is no less memorable.]]
** [[https://youtu.be/DSydV2mSVv4 This cover]] made by [[Creator/CristinaValenzuela Cristina Vee]] is a good English cover on its own, but it's [[HilariousInHindsight even better]] as she'd eventually be cast as the official English voice of Sailor Mars.
** [[https://youtu.be/ZmZTjB2wUHw This song]] blends the lyrics of the [=DiC=] English theme with a translation of the Japanese theme practically perfectly.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIJQktZbRic Sailor Senshi Reunion]]" first plays as Sailor Moon goes to face Beryl alone with the other Senshi dead in the traps of the DD Girls. It's at first grimly determined and badass, but at the 1:20 mark it descends into a real TearJerker as a sudden violin solo cuts through the scene like a knife that really tugs at the heartstrings.
* The [=DiC=] dub may be [[SoBadItsGood more known for hilarity than awesomeness]], but its soundtrack is one of the best of any adaptation.
** "[[https://youtu.be/bvWX24ctTj4 My Only Love]]" ''really makes'' the scene when the Moon Princess is revealed.
** Similar to "My Only Love", the scene where Jupiter recounts her first brush with love gave us "[[https://youtu.be/ntKNy11xq4w Rainy Day Man]]", a reflective and wistful pop song.
** Even the most purist of fans admit that [[https://youtu.be/1sMSu1vF5qw "Carry On"]] (from the final battle between Sailor Moon and Queen Beryl), [[https://youtu.be/yu0yaAMBNBw "It's A New Day"]] (from the same episode, when the evil had been defeated) fit the scenes just as well, and in some cases better, than the original.
** [[https://youtu.be/MytGMKR_IvU "She's Got The Power"]] by Stan "[[WesternAnimation/TheTransformersTheMovie The Touch]]" Bush plays during the battle between Sailor Senshi and the Black Moon Sisters. Better still, while in the original we have a standard melody during the Sailor Moon attack, in the dub the song still plays, which adds to the awesomeness.
** [[https://youtu.be/KuPYmaPjVxg Usagi/Serena's transformation theme]] in the dub. Many fans describe the song as being wonderfully magical and nostalgic even if this is the first time you hear it.
** The 90s dub's composer Bob Summers did have a good few cues up his sleeves that people who watched it growing up may never forget. [[https://youtu.be/vKb0pj13BLk Tuxedo Mask's]] Spanish guitar cue and [[https://youtu.be/NyR_TCCmIM4 Queen Beryl's/the villains' theme]] in particular will bring back many a fond memory.
** [[https://youtu.be/Hh8LraFZxno "Only a Memory Away"]] is a heartrending ballad about Sailor Mercury's conflict between [[FriendOrIdolDecision fighting as a Sailor Senshi alongside her friends or pursuing her dream of studying in Germany]].
%%** And who could forget [[https://youtu.be/3ra7VsXrmng Oh Starry Night]].
%%** [[https://youtu.be/MytGMKR_IvU "She's Got The Power"]]. Come on, it's by Stan "[[WesternAnimation/TheTransformersTheMovie The Touch]]" Bush, how can it not be awesome?
%%** "[[https://youtu.be/cBRCGwGiMw4 The Power of Love]]" from the dub version of the battle against Wiseman and the R Movie.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thOI3ew2hDM "Sailor War"]] reminds you that ''Sailor Moon'' isn't just about romance and comedic fights in the 90s anime, but that they are soldiers who must face the very real risk of death and that people and their world are under siege, in the sort of song a conscript thinks of before they march off to fight one last time.
* The original anime had the criminally underrated song [[https://youtu.be/MyPmFzmRqys "Maboroshi no Ginzuisho",]] which works perfectly with the reveal of the Moon Princess.
* "[[https://youtu.be/xH7ufuDZ_1k Mysterious Starry Sky, Part 5]]", a short, understated theme that tends to play when Usagi and Mamoru share a moment of connection as memories of their past lives surface. It's les than a minute in length, but it's memorable enough you'll recognize it when it plays from time to time.
* The [[https://youtu.be/doZrX8fgcts Outer Senshi]] theme. You can expect badass moments whenever this song comes on. And the violin strings are clearly a reference to Sailor Neptune being a violinist.
%%* [[https://youtu.be/NCC_-1gVE5Q The German OP]].
* [[https://youtu.be/EXngR9v5uK8 Golden Queen Galaxia]], the ImageSong for the villain of the last season, is somehow good enough to make ''xylophones'' sound badass. It sounds heartbreaking yet great when slowed down into an "orgel locket" version, too. [[https://youtu.be/HI05IydNx9g And here is said locket version]].
* [[https://youtu.be/cCN34JwDJvs The Dead Moon Circus]] is the villain group with the best theme. And the [[https://youtu.be/7-evDDNxMpM Lemures BGM]] makes it even better!
* [[https://youtu.be/-lVguFN6T5s The Sailor Starlights' transformation theme]], like that of the Senshi of the Outer Solar System, makes the associated senshi sound like badasses right out the gate.
* [[https://youtu.be/YR_Mum_EJoE Anytime Michiru]] [[https://youtu.be/YzQEwbkIfAY plays the violin]], it's SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic. Thank you, Takanori Arisawa.
* Creator/RikaFukami isn't exactly a singing seiyuu like others, but in [[https://youtu.be/hp-LmGp4uA4 Route Venus]] she showed that she can handle more than her own. No wonder Creator/NaokoTakeuchi says this is one of her favorite ''Anime/SailorMoon'' songs!
* And then we have the eerily beautiful OneWomanWail from the S season, [[https://youtu.be/Y7rN1kZyIdw Hymn of Saturn.]]
* There's "Mercury no Toujou" from episode 110, based on Music/GeorgeFredericHandel's [[https://youtu.be/JSAd3NpDi6Q Sarabande]]; it's featured when the Inners think of the Outers and are depressed as they realize how different they are, while Michiru comforts a doubtful Haruka. [[https://youtu.be/Bb09YSuY_dI Here in a 100% piano version]] [[https://youtu.be/73wJFT8a6aU and here is one with synthetizers.]]
%%* Rei's song, [[https://youtu.be/lMVmMgFceTg Eien no Melody]].
%%* [[https://youtu.be/hXYDaRiXYPo Pinch.. an determination]].
* The monster themes for the [[https://youtu.be/ejPiLEDje30 Daimons]] and [[https://youtu.be/FlmMSZNzr8g Lemures]] convey a real sense of threat.
* [[https://youtu.be/_pQRrlFMvCI This one]], especially in combination with Usagi breaking down crying on the roof.
* [[https://youtu.be/V8j-1-PIvas&t=1m39s The second half of the "Sailor Saturn" track from the S season]] combines PsychoStrings and gratuitous use of the ScareChord for chilling moments in the Death Busters' lair, such as when the newly manifested Mistress 9 reveals the coming arrival of Pharaoh 90 to Sailors Moon, Uranus, and Neptune.
%%* [[https://youtu.be/0yQRfI_DhDE Otome no Policy]].
* [[https://youtu.be/8IaVioWKBR4 Heart Moving]]. The Swedish version [[https://youtu.be/OfunXn7-hMs "Sailor Moon, min vän"]] is no less awesome, especially after the episode where Nephrite]dies. The lyrics take on a whole new meaning. The instrumental piano version of the song, "Protect the Stars", is quite poignant when it is played at Sailor Mars' death and the penultimate episode of ''Sailor Moon R''.
%%* [[https://youtu.be/twcxiiP9BgA Dub opening]].
* The Dutch version got an original happy hardcore track as its [[https://youtu.be/DhLz4rF44IE own song]]. It will never leave your head.
* [[https://youtu.be/CuuCEI2jCxA 20th Anniversary Album]] includes covers of "Moonlight Densetsu" by Music/MomoiroCloverZ, "La Soldier" by Tommy heavenly6, and "Sailor Star Song" by Mitsuko "Galaxia" Horie. The [[EverythingSoundsSexierInFrench French cover]] of "Moonlight Densetsu" by Clémentine on the same album, which is... DAMN. Just... ''[[IllBeInMyBunk daaaaaaamn.]]''
* All [[https://youtu.be/WrwBl6Am77A five]] [[https://youtu.be/hVzPOEHjCp4 Sailor]] [[https://youtu.be/kUeNSZX0wAE Moon]] [[https://youtu.be/y79KpZ3MR9g Italian]] [[https://youtu.be/_7Dcqg-e8K4 themes]].
* The BeatEmUp game for the Sega Genesis has a pretty sweet [[https://youtu.be/8kcF9tBPE54 opening stage theme]].
* For ''Anime/SailorMoonCrystal'':
** "[[https://youtu.be/c0Va228UhRs Moon Pride]]", an anthem for {{feminist fantas|y}}ies everywhere.
** The amazing rocked out soundtrack [[https://youtu.be/jgh7L6VuP5Q backing]] Rei's transformation.
** [[https://youtu.be/Ay2RkM28YMI Quiet Sorrow]], the memorable track playing in episode 17 when Chibiusa remembers her parents while watching the interaction between Usagi's parents, then afterwards runs off and walks alone on the streets while it's raining.
** [[https://youtu.be/3PIfPZSorwA Eternal Eternity.]] Finally, a duet between Neptune and Uranus. Very long-awaited by fans of the original anime.
** The transformation themes for Season 3 [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jV7_vtenJGQ for Usagi]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyBCZ-7KRB0 the other Sailor Senshi]] are made more epic with the new score alongside the improved animation that doesn't rely on CGI, with nods to the '90s anime.
%%** [[https://youtu.be/IcB2wS3UGfY The Darkness Ever Stronger,]] the theme of the Dark Kingdom and Black Moon Clan...
%%** [[https://youtu.be/ksZrGOted0w Black Lady...]]
* The original [[https://youtu.be/L1xAPQgGZ0U "Moon Prism Power"]] and [[https://youtu.be/C_OdUp4x5Uc "Crystal Power, Make Up!"]] are perfect pre-ass-kicking transformation music.
* [[https://youtu.be/DkYdad35qyo Rica Fukami (Sailor Venus' voice actress) singing "Venus"]] (the original version from Shocking Blue, not the Music/{{Bananarama}} cover). Bonus point for it being exactly what Minako would do... And for [[https://youtu.be/d7WCrOLDqbQ her themes]] [[https://youtu.be/wOlNHzXqJV4 in the old fighting games]] [[https://youtu.be/YHa98S2Ctak being based]] [[https://youtu.be/Y_hpaoEm_zA on this song]].
* Creator/MegumiOgata, the original voice actress for Sailor Uranus, released a cover of "[[https://youtu.be/agLdWZ3kZ5c Moon Revenge]]" done alongside Creator/MasakoKatsuki, the original voice actress of Sailor Neptune. This takes an already awesome song and turns it into a powerful duet about Uranus and Neptune's love for one another transcending time, and keep in mind the two of them ''never'' shared a song during the original run of the series. Twenty-five years later, and the two of them are still doing the voices of Haruka and Michiru.
* Of the original anime's ending songs, easily one of the most iconic is the [[https://youtu.be/kQl3rFmkMwE first ending]] of ''Super S'', "I Want to Be Us" (''Watashi-tachi ni naritakute''), effectively the love theme between Chibiusa and Helios, [[https://youtu.be/PydBw0N_Q30 especially played when Pegasus reveals himself to be Helios]]. And it speaks of the song's iconic status that it is the ''only'' song from the original anime to make the jump into the ''Crystal'' remake, [[https://youtu.be/zc5xwmvcEu8 as the ending song]] for the first part of ''Sailor Moon Eternal'', the ''Crystal'' adaptation of the Dead Moon Circus arc. No, not even the de facto franchise theme song, "Moonlight Densetsu", had this honor (although it was used in the trailer for ''Eternal'').
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=minRouDTcso All]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GToJfS-U1qo dubbed]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EH-QSLr2DPc versions]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSRcuEk76kA from]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RK3fJNYeRZE the]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJB7IZdWqfg Hebrew]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHWVeKbqWOw dub]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9dFDHSwb5E are]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I6wyX4GP_Y amazing]].
* Sailor Moon has four original openings in Germany, and they're all great. "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0VBaYoImuQ Sag das Zauberwort]]", "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1e2s6dmX2A Kampfe Sailor Moon]]" and "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6beSKTMADLY Macht das Mondes]]" have a catchy Europop beat, while "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWSgzZ5jlqo Flieg durch die Wolken]]" is relaxing rock.
