* From the original ''VideoGame/{{Disgaea|HourOfDarkness}}'':
** For a [[TearJerker depressing theme]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idHONGNrXds "Sorrowful Angel"]] is perfect for this.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ukNBxaCcXs "Ah, My wonderful life"]], the song of Vyer's fabulous ending, with a distinct opera flavor. There's also [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0A-jguQH9Ao "Etna Boogie"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LS7ECLOBV5Y "Do Your Best, Girl"]]. On the hot blooded front we have: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WczIu-P647A Anthem of Braves]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYNZ0DJ15RE March of the Planet Earth]], and of course the spirit of rivalry condensed into musical form, the greatest song in the game, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZtkmWUY2B0 War Comrade]] the anthem of the great Kurtis.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bWk_wYny0I "Running Fire"]] with honorable mention to the DS version, which loses some complexity but changes the flavor for the better.
** There's also the absolutely beautiful "Flower of Happiness", played during the best ending's credits. Presented in-game as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzE5gRBntN0 an instrumental]], but also a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnZiG5Q0vGs lyrical version]] from the soundtrack.
** The anime soundtrack definitely deserves a spot here with much of the above music beautifully arranged, including [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfY3bn9ey-A "March of the Planet Earth"]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HfPBItzOV4 "Disgaea~Climax"]], and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzFpAowHgAs "Red Moon~Strings Night"]]. A few of the new songs deserve mention as well, particularly [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASFJULLh-Pw "Heroes Who Deserve Our Love"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZvTAWvSvEk "Sad Combatant"]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCAdtd3Eknc "Lord Laharl's Hymn"]], the original vocal hub theme, which sounds fittingly grand and awesome for Laharl; it was good enough to return in almost all subsequent games in an almost as awesome 8-bit version for the Item World mystery rooms since.
** Although it's exclusive to the game's North American translation due to copyright issues, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q48brPFjmPw "Invasion from Within"]] by Tsunami Bomb is an excellent rock song that gets you pumped for the fights it plays in.
** Hour of Darkness also gives us "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_13kqKHBCXU Disgaea]]", the epic FinalBoss theme that couldn't fit the battle against [[spoiler:Seraph Lamington]] more. It was good enough to be reused in ''Disgaea 2'' for some of the fights against Laharl, ironically enough.
** Returning from ''La Pucelle Tactics'' is [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTPLZYYmq_o "Great Wilder"]], a kickass Arabian-sounding theme that accompanied Baal's OptionalBoss appearance in one way or another ever since. Also check out [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLEReEjN6IA the original version]] from ''La Pucelle'', [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERzGuLOO0Aw the remix]] from ''Makai Kingdom'' and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rg-4-ku9zQM the version]] from ''Disgaea 4'' onwards, which are equally as awesome.
%%** "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzsJ8ml3MTs Red Moon]]" (English version [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qzsNZn5_1A here]]), "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPfUcwXpxoM Battle of Eight Beat]]", "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LERDOzarJvM One With The Stars]], and "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xh2CDG6HoH4 Beautiful Rondo]]". Lastly, Afternoon of Darkness gives us the Etna Mode credit song: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOyf44OE7pA "Nightmare Girl".]]
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUIfKcCP-zw "Planet X"]], Celestia's theme (or as close to a designated "theme" as any map has).
* ''VideoGame/{{Disgaea 2|CursedMemories}}'':
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdpFLxWvGCI The full version of Sinful Rose]]! The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qH9q2bwdeto instrumental version]], which acts as Adell's theme, isn't shabby either.
** The very first level of the game has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV58AQbSZe0 Spread Your Wings]]. What a great way to start the game too.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSmyIB-zUVs "White Tiger"]]. "AKUTAREEEEE!!!" ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8SnyemvylI Arranged Version]]) Need more Axel theme? Dark hero days present you [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh2wGznSHMU "Let's Dance At The Last Battle"!]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbVQE7-1l80 Beatiful Darkness 05']], the [[BonusLevel Dark World]] music, is a darker version of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJhbWsOrfP8 A Dark Race Becomes Magnificent]] from the [[VideoGame/DisgaeaHourOfDarkness previous game.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_M-73AY4Ng "Prinny My Love"]], the prinny's own theme! Also [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHVAXPFiXMo "Cyber Dance"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFJBb7XeLJU this techno remix of Laharl's hymn]].
** [[TearJerker Even though it's depressing to listen to,]] the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSsbWWF3uD0 Game Over Music]] is the best sentimental instrumental version of "Sinful Rose".
** You know that all sorts of hell is about to be unleashed upon hearing [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwIhANLyw-Q Heavy Rotation]].
** [[spoiler: Laharl]]'s [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t87oCPHwLY0 boss theme]] (actually just a remix of [[spoiler: Disgaea from the first game]]) is an early indication that [[HopelessBossFight you are totally fucked]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nfq41t1bfAs Etna Rock]], which, as its name implies, is a rock remix of Etna's theme. [[MundaneMadeAwesome Bad. Ass.]] There's also the bone chilling [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUtOui5Z4UI Holy Mansion]], the amazing [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biTpreYhEEw Song of the Gods]], and the totally epic final boss theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6g5ftR9_u9Y Demon's Trill]].
** Any and all instances of ninja activity should be accompanied by [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-kbqKAGgRs "Ninja's Dance"]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo0uswTyPzk "Sparkle to Become a Star"]] for the sheer symbolic meaning. This song amplifies a SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}} which doubly serves as Adell's definitive SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome. A true trifecta of awesomeness.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YrKN5WpfII "Visual Sensation"]], which plays in the battles for the chapter leading up to the final boss. Very fitting, especially given that those battles are happening inside a mansion, and the tune has a very elegant feel to it.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYJHmFZ1qWc "Disgaea Rhapsody"]], which plays during the battle between [[spoiler: The True Overlord Zenon and Laharl]].
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2tYRBCLJjo Sinful Rose]], the intro.
* ''VideoGame/{{Disgaea 3|AbsenceOfJustice}}'':
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZM6ML8qqbhA Go, Mao!]] is a perfect theme to capture his insanity. The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyPfMPkvdpY instrumental version]] counts as well.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lL_3fiUpsE "Last World"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cqu1RX_uhZA "DEAD END"]] are also extremely awesome. (If you listen closely, you'll notice that "DEAD END" is actually a more dramatic version of Wanderer's Poem.)
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ep0mtKC2R8E "Hot Blooded Teachere Raspberyl"]], a fitting, catchy tune appropriate to the final battle of the Raspberyl story.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWn8wd1YZA0 "Blue Concerto"]], especially the arrange version, which manages to be both epic and beautiful.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=js2xiPoJLE0 "Nether Institute Evil Academy"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1fXsiL78wg "A Song For You"]]. "Nether Institute Evil Academy" is well-known for the dance number in it's opening, but the song itself is rather infectious and is reminiscent of "[[WesternAnimation/TheNightmareBeforeChristmas This is Halloween]]", especially toward the end. "A Song For You" differs from most of the Nippon Ichi ending themes by being rather upbeat and Broadway-ish, but that's what makes it one of the most memorable themes.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-8cILNcV_8 "Makai Fugue"]]. Best evil sounding song in the Disgaea series.
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eywOADyH7JM "Maritsu Evil Academy Entrance Applicant Recruiting CM Song"]], also known as the game over theme. Never has there been a more chipper and bouncy song about the fact that you just got your ass handed to you. The song is very likely making fun of you for losing, given the game it's from.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBxn42wLMHs Great Glider]], an awesome Arabian-inspired track that's reminiscent of "Great Wilder". It was good enough to be reused in ''Disgaea 5'' as the Item God theme and for a couple of post-game battles.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bo1m944wl_A "Wanderer's Poem"]], arrange album version.
* Finally, [[EnsembleDarkhorse Asagi]] gets her own spot in the limelight! The damn inspiring [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4NqsgUH0ek "Asagi, GO Fight!!"]], which plays at the end of [[VideoGame/PrinnyCanIReallyBeTheHero Asagi Wars]] during the final boss battle [[spoiler:and her HeroicSacrifice]], and returned in ''Disgaea 5'' untouched.
* ''VideoGame/{{Disgaea 4| A Promise Unforgotten}}'':
** The vocal themes. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHuKwXcl5Co "Last Engage"]], the game's opening theme. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1mDDLTZPEw Voyage of a Canary "little bird in your universe"]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJw_7BkDZKk "Golden Memories"]], beautifully sung ending themes, the latter sung in English (courtesy of Sarah Alainn)! [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rp7hlT-ZaRI "Pandora Ignition"]], the game's HotBlooded song that acts as a second theme for Axel.
** Fuka takes the stage. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNqCrr8bbVE "You Go Girl"]] kicks in. You know you're in for a good time.
** "The Fuka and Desco Show" brings another excellent vocal theme: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9hMfGkuU0E Sadistic Emotion]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRZ61l9fd4s "Hold You Back"]], a worthy successor to the first game's ''Disgaea'' and the second game's ''Disgaea Rhapsody''.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HK2x_55P2g "Piano Sonata D No. 4"]], essentially the successor to the previous game's "Blue Concerto" and [[spoiler:it plays during the second phase of the fight against Fuka's killer]].
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACvifxgDVFM "Crimson Cross"]], an excellent song [[spoiler: for Valvatorez's fight against the Netherworld President and for the first phase of the fight where Fuka gets serve out justice against her killer.]]
** [[Franchise/{{Neptunia}} Nisa's]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyR5zPNyk5w theme]] from the second game. The most hot-blooded theme Tenpei Sato has ever created. And that [[PunctuatedForEmphasis N! I! S!]] is extremely catchy.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4kOSA_Q1ew "Sparkling"]] is an insanely epic and upbeat battle theme. [[Literature/TheTwilightSaga Too bad about the title...]] [[PunnyName though it may have been intentional.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEdyQYfE8QE Sepia-colored Dream]], the epilogue music, is truly beautiful by being more TearsOfJoy and SugarWiki/{{WAFF}} at the same time.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8QB13fK8ig "Unflyable Wings".]]
* ''VideoGame/DisgaeaDimension2:''
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lmHXijyYIs "Rockin' Princess"]], Asagi's catchy {{Leitmotif}} sung by Creator/SuzukoMimori.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynmR_tomXP8 "Moving Express"]], the boss theme for several characters. The piano portions of the song are especially beautiful.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naZVHL2cAVo "Dramatic Devil Story"]], which makes the final battle feel especially epic, combining the guitar, drums, violin, piano, and haunting vocals Tenpei Sato is known for in most of his best works into one haunting, chaotic, and epic symphony.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zerKtC0v9N8 "Cradle Over"]], sung by Creator/MinoriChihara.
%%** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADHev147s3Q "Prince of Darkness".]]
* ''[[VideoGame/{{Disgaea 5}} Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance]]'':
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYnYVB4lXEc Lieze Love]], wonderful and calming song that plays during most of Liezerota's scenes. This song also has a couple of notable variations. One is called [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C10QUVnIgmc Lieze Lullaby]], the game's beautiful ending theme. The second is the rather kickass [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBXPQkrAlgo LieZe Rock]], [[spoiler:a DarkReprise accompanying the final boss battle against the Void Dark possessed Liezerota.]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAx3qb_3yAw Bitter Sweets]], a haunting tune that plays during the boss fights with Majorita, featuring a sinister choir and some badass guitars.
** While [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKY1rb3hc3A Moving On]] is slower and more tranquil than past hub themes, it's no less excellent, sounding very beautiful despite the GratuitousEnglish.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM0zgX6lPFs Kill Real]] continues the series tradition of having awesome opening themes, and is also awesomely used in [[spoiler:the final battles against Bloodis and Void Dark]]. It even comes complete with a few German lyrics!
** Whether you fight the senators who refused to pass your bill or [[spoiler:watch Killia unleash his SuperpoweredEvilSide]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OW1rCo6VC5o Stepping Hard Beat]] is there to get you pumped up.
