!! Main Series

* The opening of Tolly Twelve Bells, both times.
* Lysander and Tancred rescuing Charlie from the ruin during the ruin game. The storms and spirit ancestors that they summon manage to spook Manfred and Zelda so badly that they are still not themselves for over a week afterwards.
* Paton Yewbeam in the first book of the series, when he blows up the lights at the school to force Bloor to hand over Emma's birth certificate, and walks away laughing after he does.

* Olivia and the Flames sneak through dangerous parts of the school to visit and comfort an imprisoned Henry. Then, when Zelda and Beth attack Olivia, Emma gets a BigDamnHeroes moment by swooping down in her mythological bird shape and carrying Beth and Zelda across town.
* Cook stands up to the cruel and powerful Manfred, making him shrink back with a few choice words.
* For the first time, Charlie uses his powers to enter a picture instead of just listening to it and comes out with one useful item while savvily avoiding the Bloor faction's efforts to manipulate him into bringing out something they want.
* After Grandma Bone and her sisters get one too many EvilIsPetty moments, Tancred's father uses his weather powers to blow them across the street and then makes it rain on them.

* The 'night of wind and spirits' in the third book has quite a few awesome moments:
** Olivia confronting Belle/Yolanda in the girls' dormitory, and Emma trying to help her.
** When Tancred, Lysander, Billy, Charlie and Gabriel face Yolanda, she tries to hypnotise them and shapeshift at them, but they never freeze (well, except Tancred, who's afraid of spiders). In fact, the most awesome moment has to be Gabriel running at Yolanda after Tancred freezes.
* Paton BLOWS UP a sewing machine, kills a 100 year old shape-shifter, and burns down his evil sister's house, all in one shot.

* TheSiege of Amadis's castle in the BackStory is made of awesome up until Borlath unleashes his fire powers on the castle. Amadis uses his control of animals to torment the besiegers in a number of ways before leading a charge outside to reduce their number through direct combat (with his outnumbered and surrounded men somehow getting him back inside the castle after he is wounded). LongDeadBadass indeed.
* In the fourth book, the act the good endowed children and Paton pull off to rescue Billy from the Bloors and restore the balance among the endowed children of the Red King.
* Lysander and his spirit ancestors do battle with a group of vicious, semi-sentient Magically Binding Contracts that are trying to give Billy DeathByAThousandCuts (paper cuts, to be specific) or at least maim him.
* Fidelio’s brothers and sisters use musical instruments as Improvised Weapons to fight Ass when he attacks their house in his beast form.
* Every scene where Olivia uses her new illusion powers, especially when she makes the Bloors faint with an illusion of an angry ghost about to attack them.

* The Hundred Heads dinner, where the headmasters of ninety-nine other academies for endowed children visit the school, and several show off endowments like a super sense of smell and transfiguration.
* Gabriel (wearing the cloak of the Red King to channel his boldness), Tancred and a wild array of weather patterns he conjures, and Lysander and his spirit ancestors all go against Count Harken (who manages to NoSale some of their efforts and conjure many monsters before being beaten) to try and keep the Mirror of Amoret out of his hands.
** Then, right as the heroes celebrate their triumph, Joshua jumps out of a hiding place to snatch it away with his magnetic powers and run away before they can take it back.
* In the fifth book, ten good children banish Count Harken from the city by walking hand in hand around the tree that is the Red King.

* After blowing off the other heroes for much of the book, Tancred returns in BigDamnHeroes fashion to summon a whirlwind that deposits Joshua and the Branko Twins in a field miles outside the city after they try to kill Charlie.
* All of the scenes of Mrs. Kettle the blacksmith forging the Red Knight's new sword.
* When Dorcas and Dagbert are trying to steal Billy's endowment and threaten Cook for helping him, Dr. Saltweather appears to grab them by the scruffs of their necks to make them stop, and reveals his own previously unhinted-at magical power by No Selling Dagbert's effort to kill him by summoning a watery mist.
--> Dr. Saltweather: I CANNOT DROWN!
* The Red Knight's joust with the statue of a knight that Eric Shellhorn brings to life.

* Emma flying out of school when Tancred is being drowned by Dagbert to get Mr Torsson to rescue him.
** Mr Torsson breaking into the school to rescue his son also bears mentioning. He breaks down the main door to the Academy and storms down into the Art basement, creating a mighty big storm and causing chaos in the school. No one can stop him, not even the Bloors. He then confronts the Bloors, with his son in his arms, and yells that they'll pay for what they've done.
* Runner Bean briefly battles with a stone hound under Eric's thrall.

* While in the last two books the Red Knight might get one fight per book here, he is a constant and proactive presence throughout the story, defeating both a hovering magical sword and a pyrokinetic Mook in the first 1/3rd of the book.
* One of the biggest villainous moments of awesome in the series might be Lord Grimwald showing Manfred the Sea Globe, an enchanted object that Grimwald and his ancestors have used to monitor and (when they feel like it) control every ocean on Earth for nearly a millennia.
* The whole final battle, with each side unleashing everything they've got as Count Harken tries to send the entire city back in time so he can rule over it. Among other things, Charlie watches a WizardDuel between Alice Angel and Mrs. Tilpin, a slingshot-wielding old woman serving Harken knock out Dagbert, Lysander's spirit ancestors battling an army of statues Eric brought to life, Billy taming attack dogs, Emma turning into a bird big enough to lift Joshua Tilpin off the ground, and Mrs. Kettle and Señor Alvaro displaying bold swordsmanship against mythological beasts. Then, the BadassNormal Red Knight defeats Harken in a duel where his opponent is using magic and riding a fire-breathing horse.

* Anything involving Lysander and his African ancestors counts as this. Those ancestors are enough to terrify the Bloors and stop them from doing anything.
* Due to his powerful hypnotic ability and status Manfred is able to bully just about anyone and get away with it. He's easily able to read Charlie's mind and disconcert him in their first meeting. However just a year later when he tries extracting information again Charlie not only manages to resist him, but steal one of Manfred's memories. Not only that, but later its revealed Charlie's pretty much broken Manfred's hypnotic powers for good.
* Amy and Lyell, in the last three books, manage to fool everyone (even the Bloors!) into thinking that they're going on a second honeymoon, so that no one would realise that Lyell is the Red Knight. They go as far as sending fake postcards to Charlie, and planting suggestions in his mind to divert him from discovering the true identity of the Red Knight, in case Charlie is hypnotised by Manfred. None of the other characters have any clue what they are really doing until the final battle is over and the identity of the knight is finally revealed.
