''Fantasista Doll'' is an AnimeFirst airing in the summer of 2013.

A middle schooler named Uzume Uno, once a champion of a card tournament, is given a magical cellphone that doubles as a card holder. It comes with five cards, each containing a MagicalGirl called a "doll" who fights for their given master (in this case, Uzume). As a master, she has to battle other card masters, many with quite foreboding intentions. Also used are outfits which the dolls use for combat, and trap cards, which act as either attacks or diversions to help the users.

Basically, ''Franchise/YuGiOh'' [[JustForFun/XMeetsY meets]] ''Manga/RozenMaiden''. Also [[CaptainErsatz suspiciously similar]] to ''Manga/CardcaptorSakura''.

!!Tropes:

* AceCustom: Proto Zero.
* AlwaysInClassOne: The final scene in the anime is a birthday present for Uzume.
* AntiVillain: The people who fight Uzume to have their wish granted are generally not bad people. This even applies to the BigBad.
* ArtificialHuman: All of the dolls (they are referred to as "data").
* BigBadFriend: [[spoiler:Komachi]]. She's an AntiVillain though, she just wants her (proto) Doll back-- too bad this may require all other Dolls to shut down. Thankfully, Uzume manages to TakeAThirdOption and manages to revive Sonnet ''and'' save the Dolls.
* BlandNameProduct: In the beginning, Uzume was said to be good with [[TabletopGame/MagicTheGathering Magic: To Gather]]. She also borrowed a horror movie DVD [[Film/{{Juon}} The]] [[Film/TheGrudge Curse]], subverted because in the next episode Reika offered her the real [[ProductPlacement the]] [[ShoutOut real]] [[Film/TheGrudge2 Grudge 2]].
* BrattyHalfPint: Katia. Also Uzume's little sister.
* BrokenBird: Quite a few:
** [[spoiler: Kagami became an antisocial {{Jerkass}} after her brother apparently got kidnapped.]]
** [[spoiler: Kazunari, who Aloe remembered was a NiceGuy when she met him, became a {{Jerkass}}. WellIntentionedExtremist after his girlfriend disappeared.]]
** [[spoiler: Miina, who always thought that her burn scar caused her mother to abandon her.]]
** [[spoiler: Komachi, losing her first doll resulted in her almost becoming a complete StrawNihilist.]]
** [[spoiler: Proto Zero on the other hand is technically already broken by default.]]
* ChekhovsGunman: [[spoiler:Kagami's Brother has a lot to do with the dolls, and he isn't missing and always there all along, disguised as the mushroom mascot guy]]
* CollectibleCardGame: Not an actual game, but otherwise the doll battles follow all its tropes. There even seems to be a contest going on with the winner being granted his or her 'dream' but Uzume (and her dolls) are unaware of it yet.
* CoolBigSis: Madeleine (might also be a YamatoNadeshiko).
* DoingInTheWizard: For all the MagicWarrior trappings, the "dolls" were actually created artificially.
* EmotionlessGirl: Akari and Proto Zero.
* EtTuBrute: [[spoiler:When their memory returns, Uzume's Dolls briefly abandon her to return to their old Master-- Komachi. Uzume is feels badly ''hurt'' by their decision.]]
* FakeOutOpening: The first episode makes it seem like there's some sinister conspiracy at work involving the dolls by interweaving scenes of someone taking Uzume's dolls out of a lab with a horror film. [[spoiler: The only sinister aspect is that Komachi is trying to recruit every Master who has a Doll for the Card Club so she can use their data to restore Sonnet. The creators of the cards aren't directly involved with any of it.]]
* FrillyUpgrade: Each of the Dolls can be given a new costume (with another card) that gives her new abilities.
* GothicLolita: Akari, Miina.
* HappinessInSlavery: Type 3. The dolls apparently ''need'' masters to even leave their cellphones. They cannot walk too far from their masters without vanishing back into them (though the distance can be increased with cards.) There is a verbal contract with mutual master/doll obligations, though the actual relationships between them vary.
* {{Invocation}}: One is used to prep the dolls for battle, but seems otherwise unnecessary as they can summon themselves when ever they choose.
* JapaneseSchoolClub: Uzume was basically dragged into the Card one.
* {{Jerkass}}: Aloe's master.
* JewishMother: All of the five main dolls act as very obnoxious life coaches: lecturing Uzume on how she spends her time, how she eats, how much food she gives them...
%%* LoveMartyr: Aloe.
* MysteriousProtector: Lord Rafflesia, who guides and watches over Uzume and her Dolls.
* NoEnding: The series ends abruptly as Sonnet and Komachi are reunited, with no implication of what happens next to anyone.
* PaperPeople: The Dolls can travel along any 2-dimensional surface, such as papers or windows.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: The Dolls. Akari in particular is careless about breaking things. Justified in part by Uzume being able to repair collateral damage with a card.
* ProductPlacement: Uzume's Laptop is clearly Asus.
* RecruitTeenagersWithAttitude: Uzume [[spoiler: and the majority of the card masters]].
* ShoutOut: Apart from Uzume getting a DVD of ''Film/TheGrudge'' and playing a game that's ''clearly'' TabletopGame/MagicTheGathering, Miina looks very similar to [[Manga/RozenMaiden Shinku]], she even pretended to be a doll.
* ShrinkingViolet: Uzume, to the point she would rather be uncomfortable than make others feel bad. Her dolls are helping her come out of her shell. Shimeji is one too.
* StepfordSmiler: [[spoiler:Komachi.]] She wants to collect ''all'' the Dolls to bring back her first doll, and doesn't actually care about anything else.
* SweetTooth: All of Uzume's dolls. To the point they took jobs just so they would have money to eat more!
* ThereCanBeOnlyOne: In order to have your wish granted by the Chairman [[spoiler:Komachi]], you must defeat all other Masters. [[spoiler:But it's all a ruse by Komachi to absorb all Doll data]]. Thankfully, this particular plot isn't taken seriously, and Uzume finds a way to grant [[spoiler: Komachi's]] wish and save all the dolls.
* TsunDere: Sarara. Kagami as well.
* TwelveEpisodeAnime: Which ends with [[spoiler: Everyone helping restore Sonnet ''without'' having to strip the dolls of their memories, reuniting Komachi and Sonnet.]]
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Uzume got used really quick to strangers popping out of cards, wrecking things, and moving in with her.
* WhiteAndGreyMorality[=/=]GoodVersusGood: [[spoiler:Depending on the interpretation, neither the BigBad nor the Protagonist are in any way evil. The former needs to collect data from a number of [[McGuffin cards]] to be able to restore her first friend, and sets up a mutual help group that can get her the cards as part of its operation. The latter merely wants to be friends and stay friends with her dolls. Unfortunately, collecting data from the dolls results in LaserGuidedAmnesia which would have the Protagonist lose her friends.]] The more involved and serious issues are raised in the background of the main plot.
* WindsOfDestinyChange: Katia has this as a power, but is unaware of it.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: [[spoiler:Komachi after losing her first doll.]]
* YouAreNotAlone: [[spoiler: When Uzume tells Kagami she and the card organization will help her find her brother, and when all of the card masters and their Dolls offer to find all of Sonnet's scattered data across the ''entire'' internet for Komachi.]]
