* CultClassic: Despite carrying the Unreal name on it, few Unreal players know about it's existence due to the game being a console exclusive game (and a very obscure one, to boot). And those few who do, end loving up the game.

* HarsherInHindsight:
** MK- and especially DA-related: one of Raiden's taunts is "My patience for mortals has worn thin". The next game in the MK series, VideoGame/MortalKombatDeception, deals with a dark version of Raiden being disillusioned with Earthrealm itself.
*** The line itself would later be used by the BigBad of the following game. After III there wouldn't be more Unreal games... until the 2014 reboot. And then said reboot got canned in favor of another, more successful Epic Games franchise.

*** Another one, also MK-related: one of Raiden's taunts is "You fight like Johnny Cage". The game came out at the same year than VideoGame/MortalKombatDeadlyAlliance, where Johnny's backstory tells us that he disliked the plot of a movie called "Mortal Kombat: The Death of Johnny Cage", where he repeatedly died and resurrected, a jab at past MK games having him dying and being resurrected.
*** And yet another one related to MK, with Raiden being confirmed as playable character in VideoGame/MortalKombatX. In [=UC2=] he has two exclusive adrenaline abilities called "Teleport" and "Stun Trap". In MKX, two of his variations ("Displacer" and "Master of Storms") are focused on these abilities. And there's also the countdown to his MKX reveal including a tweeted video of his [=UC2=] gameplay by Ed Boon himself.

** Unusually for an Unreal game, the first-person mode is seen as an afterthought, at best.
** Coup de Graces are almost non-existent in online play.

best. The extra peripheral vision being in third-person grants you, combined with the bigger emphasis on mobility this game has just makes it more practical to stay in third-person unless you're scoping with the Sniper Rifle for headshots.
** Coup de Graces are almost non-existent in online play. Any sort of damage knocks an opponent out of freeze, and it's entirely too easy to have your Coup de Grace attempt interrupted with someone else's fire. If the enemy was frozen by melee attacks, chances are a strong melee hit will finish them off anyway and there are more practical ways of getting more adrenaline.

Needs More Love is not allowed on work pages.

* SugarWiki/NeedsMoreLove: A game way ahead of its time that mixes FirstPersonShooter and FightingGame genres, creating in the process most of the template for the HeroShooter genre, with characters having distinct personalities and in-game properties such as weight class, adrenaline abilities, starting weapons, a more in-your-face meleé-based approach... which also happened to be launched as a closing title for the original UsefulNotes/Xbox and also had both the bad luck of "not being Unreal Tournament" and being part of the Midway years. But that's not all! Although the game has a main story, it also has individual ladders telling each of its protagonists' stories, challenges, lots of unlockables (mutators and characters)... Most things that are commonplace today can be found in this 2005 game!

Added DiffLines:

* SlowPacedBeginning: The Ascension Rites begin with a series of cutscenes meant to introduce the characters as well as some training levels with your partner. The first proper combat happens in the fourth rung.
