** Hardhat Beetles are often found near chasms. Hitting them with your sword causes a lot of knockback to Link himself, who might end up falling down a nearby hole. In a way, they end up being the enemy equivalent of the Moldorm boss fight, as seen below. Additionally, they can only be damaged with the sword and the hammer, so taking them out from a distance is only possible with the sword beam (only available at full health).

As for the boss, well, that's Blind, who's listed above under BreatherBoss. All in all you can be in and out of Thieves Town in about five minutes.

The biggest danger is from the fireballs the heads spit out, but this is lessened somewhat if you've gotten the shield upgrade (available in the normal game at the faerie waterfall in the northeastern corner of the Light World; in the randomizer you can, at worst, simply pay 500 rupees at the shop between the pyramid and Thieves' Town). In any case, Blind ''always'' goes down in nine hits, so he's a good boss to fight if you've yet to upgrade your sword much.

** The manual states that the Master Sword can only be wielded by one pure of heart and strong in body. This very idea would later be revisited in ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild'' where Link cannot obtain the Master Sword if he is not strong enough to pull it out of its pedestal, as in lacking the Heart Containers required to get the sword (a concept which itself was revisiting the requirements for upgrading to the White and Magical swords in the original ''Videogame/TheLegendOfZelda'').

The Wizzrobes actually take off ''four'' hearts if you haven't gotten the armour upgrade. Arguably still worth going early, though, just for the time save in the Ice Palace. Indeed, if you're doing a SpeedRun, it's probably ''mandatory'' to go here first.
