* RetroactiveRecognition: Kamala is played by Creator/FamkeJanssen several years before her breakout role in ''Film/GoldenEye''. But that is nothing compared to her later role as the beloved telekinetic-telepathic mutant Dr. Jean Grey in ''Film/XMen1'' which paced her mark in Hollywood/Marvel fame. Seriously.

* HilariousInHindsight: Creator/FamkeJanssen plays a self-described mutant with mental abilities sharing many scenes with Creator/PatrickStewart playing Picard. Eight years later she would do the same thing in ''Film/XMen1''. What makes it even ''funnier'' (in a {{squick}}y sort of way) is that Janssen plays Picard's love interest in this episode. [[HotForStudent And Xavier was secretly in love with Jean]] (in some versions of the franchise, anyway).

The point was that Kamala couldn't stop herself from changing to suit her mate, but she actually liked herself when she was Picard's mate, so she chose to freeze herself in that condition, exercising as much control over her identity as her biology would allow.

* RetroactiveRecognition: Kamala is played by Creator/FamkeJanssen. [[Film/XMenFilmSeries A self-described mutant]] working closely with Creator/PatrickStewart.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: The episode never really delves into the idea that Kamala instinctively alters her personality to suit her mate in favor of giving Picard a perfect girlfriend. No one points out that Picard's idealized Kamala is no more authentic than how she acts around the other men attracted to her, and no one calls out Picard on unintentionally shaping Kamala like the Kriosins that he decried. We never find out what Kamala would be like if her personality was allowed to develop on her own, if she would even have a personality. Similarly, the line about Kamala releasing pheromones that makes all men crazy about her is not taken seriously; even though Data would be immune he only gets one scene with Kamala, and a chance to let the female cast shine as Kamala's all female entourage is never considered.

* RetroactiveRecognition: Kamala is played by Creator/FamkeJanssen. [[Film/XMen A self-described mutant]] working closely with Creator/PatrickStewart.
* UnfortunateImplications: Averted as the issue of a "perfect woman" is {{Deconstructed}} with the concept being one which offends Captain Picard.
** Also, the throwaway line that male metamorphs are common on Briam's world seems to be included to lessen the potentially offensive concept of a female who exists only to become what males want - apparently it's normal for males to do this as well, we just don't see it on screen.
