Renamed one trope.

** The Knight Dynasty would then be [=3S=]'s EvilCounterPart, being the most over heel tag team the promotion had ever seen, getting the kind of heat after only a single day that others with years of buildup couldn't (though manager Rebecca Knox was a returning unfavorite).

* OnceOriginalNowCommon: SHIMMERs popularity might seem strange to some fans who didn't come into wrestling during the mid-2000s when both WWE and TNA had non-existent women's divisions. Although TNA did give prominence to its Knockouts during the 2007-2008 period, it soon became better known for terrible booking and storylines - making SHIMMER seem like a healthy alternative. SHIMMER was an independent promotion that made a life entirely through DVD sales, with no TV deal in the days before internet PPV. The renewed focus on women's wrestling in WWE in TheNewTens has had this effect on some of the older SHIMMER volumes. SHIMMER essentially offered a healthy alternative to people who wanted to see legitimate women's wrestling without Fanservice or Camp.

Added DiffLines:

** A story on SHIMMER volumes 52 and 53 involved Kellie Skater learning from Tomoka Nakagawa after being kicked back to the bottom following an unsuccessful shot in a four corners survival for Sweet Saraya's title belt. Had anyone guessed just how over that Skate and Destroy three count on Hiroyo Matsumoto would get her, they'd have probably bent over backwards to keep Skater in the main event instead, but The Global Green Gangsters did end up being a popular tag team.

* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap
** Taylor Made as a baby face never took, and was a little confusing considering her usual cohort Melanie Cruise was around but not involved with her and used as a heel. Made got a much better response when she teamed with Allysin Kay as sleazy cheat whose ego far exceeded her abilities.
** For that matter, Cruise got more unlikable in the best way when she started using more domineering giant psychology.

*** On the other hand, referee Andy Long gets booed so much some fans have called him the most over heel in the promotion.

Added DiffLines:

* MorePopularReplacement: Daizee Haze's first student Rayna von Tosh was popular but only wrestled on four volumes, and eventually quit wrestling to become a singer. Her second student Jamilia Craft (later Jenny Rose) had a full on program with Daizee, and has become a fixture on the indie circuit.

Added DiffLines:

* TheScrappy: Andy Long (who is a referee) is booed so much he's been called the most over heel in the company.

* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome:
** The match between [=LuFisto=] and Cheerleader Melissa in Vol 20, which earned a standing ovation from the audience.
** Ayako Hamada's bout with Sara Del Ray in volume 28, characterized by the sheer brutality and tenacity displayed by both wrestlers has become the stuff of legends amongst fans.
** SHIMMER's mission statement was to prove that women's wrestling was worth being taken seriously, and didn't have to just be blatant T&A. On the very first volume, the Mercedes Martinez vs. Sara Del Rey match managed to do exactly that.
** In Volume 5, Amazing Kong made her SHIMMER debut against Nikki Roxx in what most presumed would be a CurbStompBattle that would be over in a couple of minutes. But Roxx managed to hang in for almost fifteen minutes, at times giving Kong a significant amount of trouble, before she was finally pinned. Roxx gained a big fan following and higher profile from her performance in that match, which eventually led to her being signed by TNA (where she would be known as Roxxi Laveaux, and later just Roxxi).
** The weekend of tapings for Volumes 27 and 28 were a Crowning Moment for Wrestling/MsChif. [[spoiler:Widely believed that she would drop the SHIMMER Championship during the weekend, she successfully defended the title twice: first, she felled Nikki Roxx in singles action, then she won a Triple Threat Match the next night against [=LuFisto=] and Awesome Kong by becoming the first woman in the history of SHIMMER to pin Awesome Kong.]]
** Cheerleader Melissa vs. [=MsChif=] on Volume 1, the whole thing.
* Crowning Moment Of Funny
** In a match at Volume 40, the crowd starts chanting at Portia Perez "die, Portia, die!". Dave Prazak's reaction is priceless.
** At the start of the Sara Del Rey vs. Sarah Stock match on Volume 12 when the crowd is cheering for "Sara(h)", but not making it clear which woman they mean.
** Volume 57 - Miss Natural vs Leva Bates. Leva cosplays as Spock. Miss Natural tells her to "Come to the Dark Side". The entire crowd chants "Wrong franchise!"
** The Knight Dynasty's entrance shenanigans. Britani and Rebecca Knox are clearly having the time of their lives, while Saraya walks around looking like she's contemplating who to kill first.
** [=LuFisto=] tricking [=MsChif=] into giving her a title match by invoking NotListeningToMeAreYou. "I hear babies come from mommy but you like green so much you came from a cabbage" is what tips her off. [=MsChif=]'s DelayedReaction into an OhCrap was what really made it.

* XPacHeat: After Wrestling/SaraDelRey turned heel, SHIMMER brought in "Sweet and Sour" Wrestling/LarrySweeney as her manager. Fans reacted so badly to the idea of a man being involved in the action as anything other than a referee that he was dropped after one appearance.

* FandomRivalry: SHIMMER vs Wrestling/WSU vs SHINE, the three most prominent women's wrestling promotions in the USA. In this case it's that the other two have been booked much differently than SHIMMER, especially when WSU became attached to other independent shows and during SHINE's first five years. And all of them hold women's wrestling fans who only watch WWE in disdain.
