* LesYay: It's hard not to view Melody's feelings for Abigail as romantic.
* NightmareFuel: Melody's {{Yandere}} tendencies. She almost considers knifing Peggy and Alex because they don't agree with Abigail's plan to head to Blackthorn.

** JerkassWoobie: Abigail, who despite being a total jerk to a good portion of the other characters, just wants a friend and doesn't know how to make one. So she ends up getting disliked by the rest of the cast, so much so that they all laugh at her when Peggy slaps her. Well, except for Melody of course... but Melody has her own issues.

* AwesomeMoments:
** A minor one, but each of the group catching their first Pokemon. Special mention to Peggy's fight with a Sentret, and Jackson catching a rare Growlithe.
** The inexperienced trainers managing to fight off a swarm of Spinarak.... well, until an Ariados shows up. Even then though, the group does surprisingly well escaping from them, thanks to Blake's quick-thinking with use of Mud Sport.
** ShrinkingViolet Peggy slapping Abigail across the face when she goes just a little too far with her insults.
** [[ProperLady Prim and proper]] [[{{Yandere}} Melody]] attempting to draw a rampaging Onix away from Abigail and the rest of their companions (but mostly Abigail)... by using herself as [[SuicideMission bait.]]
* FunnyMoments:
** Anytime [[CloudCuckooLander Avery]] thinks or opens his mouth, it will likely result in this. Most notably is how he reacts to Abigail insulting him.
*** Avery's [[ColourfulThemeNaming naming scheme]] in particular.

** After Peggy slaps Abigail, what is Jackson's reaction? He bursts into song!
*** Which is only slightly less strange than Avery's reaction, as he doesn't seem to realise that Peggy and Abigail are fighting and pulls both of the girls into a group hug.

** One of the few times we see Avery show doubt is when he's about to get his starter Pokemon, as he's afraid it won't like him. Then he chooses Phanphy, who gently bumps him with his trunk before rolling onto his back. Avery proceeds to burst into tears of joy.

--> Because Phanpy was right.
** Abigail's Nidoran and Melody's Mareep sharing a Pokeblock after Nidoran startles Mareep.

From her parents breaking up, to her mother locking her away her whole life, to her grandpa dying, to her starter Pokemon hating her, to basically being somewhat of a ButtMonkey, the kid can't catch a break. The fact that there are quite a few posts in the OOC that say 'Poor Peggy' only confirms this.

Her parents then get upset with each other, causing her father to storm out of the house - on Peggy's birthday no less - and get divorced shortly after. Peggy then is moved to Johto to be with her grandparents, away from everything she knows. She's rarely allowed out of the house and the only real friend she has is her grandfather, who tells her stories about being a Pokemon trainer. Then, soon before she's about to become old enough to go on her Pokemon journey, her grandfather dies, and she feels she has to wait a year to help her family through the grief. Now she's finally left on her journey, she's already made an enemy, her starter Pokemon hates her, and she's not even out of the lab before she has a panic attack.
