Added DiffLines:

** Richard's "I hate everything about that sentence." response to [[ComicBook/AllNewXMen Teen Cyclops]] explaining the state Earth is in and all of the changes that occurred since Richard's apparent death.

** Volume 7 ends with a heartfelt send off to both characters in the wake of the series' cancellation showing Sam hanging out with his friends, Richard finally catching up with his old New Warriors buddies, and finally the both of them flying off into space together.

* MartyStu: Some Rider fans accused Sam Alexander of this simply for existing despite the fact that by all logic he couldn't have his powers, since most of the Nova Force went missing with Richard Rider, along with the fact that his father was part of a super-secret bunch of special ops Novas that conveniently have never been mentioned or hinted at before. Others level this accusation because they perceive Rider's continued absence in favor of a rookie who [[CreatorsPet just happens to be named after the deceased son of]] [[Creator/JephLoeb the writer]] [[CreatorsPet who created him]] to be an abuse of said writer's privilege as a figure with a significant amount of pull within the Marvel publishing hierarchy.

Added DiffLines:

** The last few issues of Volume 7 attempt to clean up the mess from when Brian Bendis attempted to explain what happened to Richard and Star Lord after the Thanos Imperative. While some are pissed that they referenced that plot at all, many are happy that it managed to clean up a few inconsistencies and outright ignore some of the others.

** When Sam [[spoiler:follows Richard into the Cancerverse, he arrives too late and witnesses Richard merging with the Cancerverse corrupted Worldmind. transforming him into a massive BodyHorror]].
*** [[spoiler:Cancerverse Worldmind in general. It had grown so dangerous that he managed to take control over the Cancerverse version of '''THANOS''' and use him as a host while further mutating his body into a twisted abomination.]]

** Volume 7 has generally been seen as a ''huge'' step up for Sam, giving him a good dynamic with Rich and making him more of an engaging, fun character, playing him up as being a hard-headed but good-hearted dumbass to complement Rich's more mellow, experienced hero.

Added DiffLines:

** Volume 7 seems to have pulled him out of the hole even more as fans of Richard Rider stopped complaining about him being a ReplacementScrappy. Many even note the two Nova's bonding creates a great dynamic.

Added DiffLines:

** Richard's "resurrection" in volume 7. [[spoiler:He's still linked to the Cancerverse in some form, frequently has nightmarish visions of death at random, and sometimes accodently leaks monstrosities from the Cancerverse into his reality whenever he exerts his powers too much. Whenever Tidus threatens him stating he should have stayed dead, Richard's response implies that his condition doesn't make him truly "alive".]]

Added DiffLines:

* AuthorsSavingThrow: Volume 7 focusing on both Sam ''and'' Richard has been well received, and a nice compromise for their respective fanbases. In fact, quite a few people are wondering why Marvel didn't just do this in the first place.
