** Due to ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2012'' already having a whopping four characters in the original game, not many saw a fifth representative in Shredder joining the roster as well. In addition, even if a fifth ''was'' to be expected, an ally of the turtles such as [[TheMentor Master Splinter]] or [[ActionGirl April O'Neil]] would have made slightly more sense; Shredder, by contrast, is a NoNonsenseNemesis and one of the ''[[OutOfCharacterMoment last]]'' characters you'd expect in a racing game, [[GoKartingWithBowser especially alongside the turtles whom he's always trying to kill]].

** Some were surprised that WesternAnimation/RenAndStimpy are in the game, especially in light of the sexual abuse allegations against Creator/JohnKricfalusi that resulted in Nickelodeon temporarily pulling reruns and merchandise of the show. Both characters appearing in the original ''Nicktoons Racing'' does mitigate this quite a bit, though not by a whole lot considering the game was released back in 2000, ''well'' before the allegations came to light.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: More than doubling the first game's small roster, including characters from shows not represented in the original, such as ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'' and ''WesternAnimation/InvaderZim'', as well as including many new features helped to inspire faith in the sequel.

* AuthorsSavingThrow:
** The game's initial announcement explicitly mentions voice acting would be present for its playable cast, assuaging frequent complaints about the previous ''Kart Racing'' titles (and for the first few months of release, ''All-Star Brawl'') lacking it.
** The addition of the aforementioned Jimmy Neutron and Jenny Wakeman as playable racers was met with universal praise from fans, given that their absence from the previous two games was a major point of contention.

This isn't a funny thing that was intended to be dramatic, it's just an awkward flaw.

* {{Narm}}: While there is voice acting in this game, it has the same issues with ''VideoGame/NickelodeonAllStarBrawl'' in that it only amounts to having the voice actors recycle lines that their characters said in respective shows rather than entirely new lines for the game. This leads to some awkwardness as the classic lines don't always fit with change of context to a kart racer. For example, one of Jimmy's lines is "I'm Jimmy Neutron. And you're an alien lifeform!" (taken from his movie), which would coincidentally fit against opponents like Zim or GIR, but not for everyone else in the playable roster.
