** On Derpibooru, pictures and screenshots with the reformed changelings have the new tag of "changedling".
** "Moose Beetle" is one of the new names given to King Thorax for his mandible antlers which many are agreeing is a bit excessive for his new design. "Stag Beetle Horse" is another name as he looks like a deer and a stag beetle which is actually very fitting as the name Stag Beetle was derived from the large mandibles of the male beetle which resembles the antlers of a stag (male deer).
** Fans have taken to calling Starlight's Team "The Suicide Squad" since they're not exactly hero material and are, more or less by Equestrian standards of social image, ex-criminals.

** The conclusion of Starlight Glimmer's redemption. Some felt it was sufficient to overcome her past misdeeds, flaws, and address her criticisms. Other felt it relied too much on contrivance to hand Starlight a redemption she didn't earn. Still others liked it but fell it was held back by her lackluster redemption arc building up to it.

Hindsight only applies to the works made this, not the ones causing it. And the changelings getting more screentime after this means the form change is heeling which isn't this trope.

* HilariousInHindsight:
** The changelings' reformation is ''very'' similar to how it happened in the ''Fanfic/PonyPOVSeries'': them finding out they don't ''need'' to steal love and it is in fact ''inferior'' to gaining love via sharing it. Then transforming into a more beautiful form as a result is ''also'' what happened when Cadence reformed them in [[BadFuture Dark World]]. Death via the Queen draining all the love out of a changeling (which Chrysalis attempts on Thorax) is ''also'' the standard execution method the Queens use in that story. Chrysalis didn't think Starlight Glimmer was worth capturing, similar to how story Chrysalis constantly underestimates "background characters". As the Mane-iac found out the painful way when she didn't bother targeting Humdrum (Spike).
** A Changeling King named Thorax? Already done in ''[[Fanfic/MaternalInstinctMLP Maternal Instinct.]]''
** Not surprising since the original pony characters were designed by Lauren Faust, but the final forms of the changelings share similarities with the playable characters in ''VideoGame/ThemsFightinHerds''.
** ''[[Blog/AskFlufflePuff Fluffle Puff]]'' [[http://askflufflepuff.tumblr.com/post/75054210237 kinda predicted that]] the Changelings would turn against Chrysalis albeit without the form changing.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: More "they wasted a perfectly good form", but a number of fans were absolutely in love with the changelings as they were (Thorax in particular becoming an EnsembleDarkhorse rather quickly), being a unique mix of UglyCute adora-creepy. There is a BrokenBase on whether the new designs look awesome or {{Narm}}y.

* BrokenBase: The changeling's new forms and being cured of their HorrorHunger. Some like it as appropriately symbolizing them becoming whole and overcoming their dark past, consistent with fan-speculation about their possible redemption, and opening up creative potential for the race. Others dislike them as garish, removing [[CreepyAwesome what made them well received]], and carries undesirable, Aesop-breaking, implications by portraying what made their race unique as things they were better off being cured of.
* ContestedSequel: To "Twilight's Kingdom" and "The Cutie Re-Mark". Some fans appreciated the slight curveball in status quo and having a villain ''not'' being reformed and remaining evil, but there are some that didn't like the anti-climactic resolution to Starlight Glimmer's season-long story arc (many believed some major status-quo-shattering event would happen, as prior season finales have done), and saw this two-parter as a pretty lackluster and disappointing end to Season Six. Some changeling fans were disappointed at the fact that except for Chrysalis, the species design was replaced by their new evolved forms.

** The changeling's new forms. Either you find them garish and {{Narm}} worthy, or you think their new look fits with the idea they're insects (which are often colorful, in particular they resemble various beetles) and creative. Some feel they ruin changeling [=OCs=], others feel they're a ''good'' thing for [=OCs=] because they make the changelings no longer a race of identical drones, which gives a greater variety to what designs can be done with them. [[TakeAThirdOption A third group]] points out that Thorax ''didn't'' automatically change into his evolved form the moment he made a friend and the act that triggered it (his sharing love) was entirely his own choice, and thus it's entirely possible un-evolved changelings co-exist with the evolved ones and be filled by friends' love for them, so long as they don't share their love to trigger the transformation.

Some state that it symbolises their race being whole while no longer needing to feed off love while the others hate it for [[BrokenAesop flying in the face]] of Thorax's own reformation which didn't require him to change his outer appearance to be accepted by invoking the BeautyEqualsGoodness trope.

* CounterpartComparison:
** The changelings turn out to be quite a bit like the [[Literature/{{Animorphs}} Taxxons]], seemingly evil creatures who are actually constantly hungry and desperate to fill that need, most of whom leap at the chance of another lifestyle where they won't have to suffer that feeling anymore.
** The fact that "sharing love" is much more better than "taking love" is similar to the plot of ''WesternAnimation/MonstersInc'' where it was revealed that "laughter" produces more energy than "screams".

* BrokenAesop: A good percentage of the changelings' new forms detractors has their reasoning lie in the ''timing'' of their reformation. By turning against Chrysalis and becoming beautiful, they invoked the BeautyEqualsGoodness trope which unfortunately in a way flies in the face of Thorax's own reformation during the events of "The Times They Are A Changeling" as he was proof that changelings can be good without having to become beautiful, resulting in some form of this.
