** The Grey Man can be a major annoyance to those who want to see how weird the game can get, as he slows down the texture changes and disables flashbacks.

** The Grey Man can be a major annoyance to those who want to see how weird the game can get, as he slows down the texture changes and disables flashbacks. It's recommended that you not stay in Happy Town, the Violence District, or Kyoto for long as he can appear in those locations a lot.

** Call the game "LSD: Dream ''Simulator''" and expect at least a dozen fans to come to tear you a new one.
** If you also make the claim that the game was created by a girl, expect another dozen to correct you; while the dreams were inspired by the dev's wife's dreams, the game was developed by a male.
** ''Lord help you if you say the creator committed suicide after making the game.'' Sato is still alive, and is still creating music, doing photography, and creating other works to this very day.

Added DiffLines:

* CultClassic: As is the case with all of Creator/OsamuSato's works.

Added DiffLines:

* MemeticMutation: "Suffering", a FanNickname for the Downer version of the giant baby's face originating from the fanbases' Discord server where it went under this name for an emoticon. He usually gets used as an example of the weirdness of [=LSDream=], and expect any time someone brings him up to be shortly followed by any mention "suffering."

* HellIsThatNoise: Any of the badly-synthed, trumpeting noises made by the wandering residents of the game. Also, the slow footsteps of the Gray Man, [[spoiler:even though his feet don't move]].

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: One could argue that the Grey Man is benevolent, as when he touches you, everything becomes less scary.

* HypeBacklash: Of a sorts. The game has gotten an infamous presentation for it's bizarre concept and visuals. However a player has to be many dreams in to even experience the more crazier stuff. Combined this with the slow walking speed and each dream taking about 10 minutes each, leads some players to lose patience with the game and quit.

* FaceOfTheBand: Even though the game is primarily known for its screwiness, the Gray Man is perhaps one of the most well-known aspects of the game due to just how ''ambiguous'' he is.

* FanNickname: Pretty much everything, from the Gray Man to the Violence District.

* NightmareFuel: Violence City, aka Violence District. Just...''that place''.
** To clarify, there're severed limbs in the trash cans, women hanging from streetlamps who ''fall'' on you, several crazy residents, including one who shoots you (with an absurdly slow bullet), creepy letters or words written in blood, and most of the ways to die in the game.
** What about the Abyss Demon? A huge Satan-looking demon who pops up from the edges of the cliffs in the Overworld.
** And what about the ''huge freaking purple sun with a face'' on the prism-y bridge? That sometimes ''appears to be also behind you''?
** The Giant, who sometimes appears in the room directly to the right of the one you start out it.
** The Nodding Men, who are sometimes in the ponds in Kyoto.
** Certain textures that have eyes or faces on them.
** The Kanji Faces, who appear mainly in Kyoto to spit kanji at you and fly away.
** The Spectres, who appear at the base of the hotel where you start out.
** The Teddy Bear in the hotel, who tries to hug you and follows you as long as you remain there. And who's standing watching a blood-splattered TV that kinda looks like Uboa of ''YumeNikki''.
** It's safe to say that 99.9999% of this game is the very incarnate of this Trope just because it's all so ''weird''.
