seriously. It's so silly that it actually kind of borders on being offensive.

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: It's a rather incredible coincidence that the aliens accidentally transformed a boy into a female body that,he somehow doesn't seem to mind & yet, could only make the change work one way.
** It's so "convenient", people have theorized that not only was Hazumu a transgender girl to begin with, but that the aliens deliberately gave Hazumu a female body because she unconsciously wanted one. They could have even pretended it was an accident to avoid outing her and just said it was irreversible, so Hazumu wouldn't feel pressure to reverse it.

* WhatAnIdiot: In the first episode, when Hazumu sees a "shooting star", (which is actually a malfunctioning alien spaceship on a collision course for Earth), heading right for him, what does he do? He just stands there like an idiot and screams and gets hit by the crashing spaceship, killing him! If he had run for his life, he wouldn't have been resurrected as a girl. But then again, there'd be no series.

* AngstWhatAngst: After Hazumu was rejected by the girl he confessed his love to, he gets killed, has his gender permanently switched, both of his parents start treating him differently, and the press begins hounding him about his transformation. He takes most of it in stride.

Added DiffLines:

* ShipToShipCombat: Thanks to the love triangle, Hazumu/Tomari vs Hazumu/Yasuna.

* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: In the third book, during the preparations for the field games, there is suddenly a page featuring a guy tied upside-down and hanging over a hungry alligator. In the other panels of that page, several other competitors (all male) are being constricted/eaten by snakes. There was no pretext for this, no one who isn't being eaten implies that this is in any way wierd, and is never mentioned again.

* TheWoobie: Asuta. His best friend is turned into a girl, and he starts becoming attracted to her, but is confused and embarrassed by these feelings so he tries to ignore them. The one time he tries to come clean to Hazumu he gets [[ItMakesSenseInContext squashed by a plummeting Nariko.]] Not to mention Tomari basically treating him as her personal punching bag.

* UnfortunateImplications: The implicit assumption that a boy like Hazumu might just as well be a girl.
** Although, on the other hand, it is quite possible to interpret the pre-transformation Hazumu as a trans girl that didn't just realize it, even though Yasuna (probably) realized it before.
